Out of towner 1st time ordering here. Loved it - great thin crust pizza and the taste was great.

We saw this place featured on Chicago's a Best and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed their crust, very thin and flavorful. The sauce was bold, no hint of the sweetness of most chain places. The cheese was very nice and there was plenty of it. I liked the fact that it was not an overly greasy pie like I have had at many local places with thin crusts. We will definitely give it another go.

I ordered a large sausage pizza (well done) for me and my wife. We finished it feeling full. The wait for delivery took awhile (about an hour and 30 minutes on a Thursday) but it is pretty darn good. I'm still debating if I like this or one of their competitors the best for this area but nonetheless in my top 2. Sausage pieces were nice and Big. Definitely will try again to see if delivery doesn't take as long.

My favorite thin crust pizza in the Berwyn area... cheese great, sausage tasty . delicious, plentiful toppings. Had an issue with last delivery however it was taken care of with no question. A bit expensive but worth every delicious bite!!

One of our favorite places for regular thin crust pizza, excellent bbq chicken pizza too. Large delivery area, highly recommend trying villa nova !

  • Diana G.

Drove out here to try the pizza. Mozzarella Sticks - Pass. Wasn't crispy and way too salty. Chicken Wings - We got the sauce on the side and these weren't too bad. Sausage, Onion & Mushroom Pizza - We opted for the fresh mushroom and I think that is the way to go. I liked the thin crust and that little crisp at the edges. It was a bit oily, but still good. It was hard to get a hold of the waitress at times as she would be in the back. They do a lot of take out business though. Overall, pizza was good, but it's a bit out of the way for me, but I'll probably go back.

  • Mohammed A.

Came here once and definitely one of the best pizzas I've tried but I was still kinda hungry after ordering a medium pizza. Maybe I eat a lot. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza and this is a million times better than baccis! Blows it out of the water! Prices I think is fair but could be better. Pizza is also made fresh and you can sit while you're waiting and watch them make it. Highly recommend.

    Not good pizza at all.

  • Carrie Y.

Horrible customer service experience. Placed my order for delivery, per the website, that the manager claims she doesn't have. I live in cicero. Get a call back after my credit card has been run, stating that they don't deliver to me and that they voided my debit card. I spoke to a manager who got ignorant on the phone with me, swearing saying the f word that the girl on the phone was new and it was a mistake. Fine mistake great..train your people better. Don't post on a website that you deliver to cicero, but then say only up to 16th st after the fact. You lost business and that money best be in my account. I don't appreciate the swearing at me by this horrible person.

I have lived around the area for a couple years but have never tried Villa Nova. I've heard very good things and I had to try it for myself. I ordered the thin crust with sausage and FRESH mushrooms. When I picked it up my pizza was coming right out of the oven. I ordered it well done and that's how I got it. This is what pizza should taste like. Perfect amount of cheese and toppings full of flavor. Look no further for a great pie that definitely will not disappoint.

  • Marissa G.

I can't believe it took 27 years of living in Berwyn before I discovered this place. It's high quality stuff. I am not a sausage pizza fan, but when my boyfriend and I arrived and our order was accidentally filled with a sausage pizza instead of the mushroom, they immediately apologized and offered to make our pizza right away and told us we could have the sausage one too, on the house. We are easy going so we just took the free pizza and left. I discovered than that I AM a sausage pizza fan, if it's done like Villa Nova's! The cheese mix used tastes multilayered and complex, the sauce is not sweet (sweet is gross), and the sausage is smooth and in nice sized bits rather than enormous, grainy lumps. Their customer service is always wonderful. I love Villa Nova!

  • Aris F.

4.5-stars Villa Nova is a small, low-key neighborhood pizzeria with friendly staff and great food. Their sausage and mushroom pie, in particular, is very good. They don't skimp on the toppings here, and their sausage is remarkably tasty. They recently began offering a choice of fresh or canned mushrooms, but there is something about the taste of canned mushrooms that I really love, strange as that might sound. If there is one thing I might change to make their pies even better, it would be that I prefer sauce that is a bit sweeter. But other than that, I am a fan. The pizza reminds me of the Aurelio's pizzas I enjoyed years ago at the original Aurelio's restaurant. (None of the Aurelio's pizzas I've had in recent years at the original Aurelio's location or at other Aurelio's branches have come anywhere near to how good Aurelio's used to be, or how good Nova Villa's pizza is.)

  • Isadora C.

Great Pizza! I've only tried this place twice but I am in love. It's my new favorite pizzeria near Chicago!!!! Love the cheese and sausage with a hint of giardiniera. Mmmmmmm

    (5)
  • Andy H.

While the Mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara was watery and substandard. Pizza bread was underdone and underwhelming. When I got a slice to go, I was asked wether I wanted canned or fresh mushrooms, as if this needed asking. Should be better...for a Berwyn/Stickney institution.

    (2)
  • Thomas H.

This place is by far the best pizza restaurant I have ever gone to. I have been to several different awesome places around the area but nobody compares to Villa Nova. Their this crust pizza of any topping is just amazing. My favorite is either veggie (black & green olives, green peppers, and onion) with a hint of fresh garlic (pie cut) or simply pepperoni, highly recommend for any occasion.

  • Rosenda G.

Just ordered a pizza wings and cheese sticks for the Super Bowl...walked 2 blocks in the blizzard just to find out they gave our pizza away. How do you give our order away. The person working there did not apologize not once. I still don't understand how they gave our order away..

    (1)
  • Bobby O.

This is a hidden gem that I tap into after playing 16 inch softball. It is byob and that goes great with pizza. I would be negligent not to mention the chicken wings as they are baked and quite tasty. I really think you should try it.

    (4)
  • Becky M.

Very fresh pizza and it taste amazing. Their meatball sandwiches are very good as well!

    (5)
  • Dawn S.

Haven't been here in a while and it is still good. We love thin crust but got to say it can be a bit crisper tho.... Still very good..

  • J J.

Absolutely BEST thin crust pizza I have ever had. Place is BYOB which is cool. Server was nice enough to cut our lime for us. We also had the Buffalo wings which were amazing.

    (4)
  • Mujtastik M.

Definitely best thin crust around! Got half sausage and half giardinara and it was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try more!

    (5)
  • Pamalama B.

All I have eaten here is the pizza, and its the only place in my boyfriends area that is good. If I were to complain about something, it would be the price. I think its a little high, however it doesnt stop me from ordering.

    (3)
  • Sam T.

I may be from Chicago, but this is hands down one of my favorite pizza places. It's thin crust and amazing. You HAVE to get the sausage pizza, and ask for extra! Each piece has 2-3 pieces on it. Their pepperoni is a close second for me. It's unlike any other pizza. You just have to see for yourself!

    (5)
  • patti s.

I agree with all the other five star reviews. It took a lot for me to even consider another pizzeria than my former favorite. But I'm so glad I did. Now I don't go anywhere else. If you are in the mood for an exceptional thin crust, classic pizza, do yourself a favor and look no further than Villa Nova. Oh, and they are open pretty late too, always a plus.

  • Pieter W.

First off let me start by saying that everyone here is right, the pizza is really good! Delicious in fact! Unfortunately the deliciousness of the food for me was somewhat soured by the service. The service wasn't necessarily "rude" per se, But it sure wasn't overly friendly either. They sure didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome, nor did they show any appreciation that we were giving them business. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the kind of customer that needs his ass kissed every time I dine out, but a little display of human warmth and customer appreciation would really make dining at Villa Nova much nicer experience. The service here actually makes me regret the money I wasted on tipping, and that's never a good sign. If I ever come here again I'll probably order pickup and go eat it at a park or something.

  • Oscar S.

Pretty good pizza and ummmmm.......BYOB!!!!!!!! Service was really good and its open till midnight.

Celebrating 59 years of making a good Sausage n Cheese PIZZA, what does that say to you to do.

  • Chris S.

For inexpensive pizza for delivery, Villa Nova is my spot. They have really delicious thin crust pizza, however they can be a bit slow. The spot is BYOB if you want to eat at the restaurant, but the atmosphere is not too inviting or nice, to be honest. This review is more solely critiquing the 'za, and it is fantastic. They have the best FRESH mushroom pizza, and I am not a fan of mushrooms. The regular mushrooms they have there taste like homeless people feet, but my god, the fresh and next level type stuff. The sausage they have at Villa Nova is also quite great and not overpowering to the overall flavor of the pizza. Definitely a must have for game day.

    (4)
  • Robert P.

They have some of the best giardineira pizza!!! One of my Fav top pizza places!! They definitely always hook it up with the toppings also!!

  • Southside C.

I just moved in the neighborhood, and we were looking for pizza. We got there early to take out a delicious sausage/green pepper pizza. The lady at the register was friendly and talkative. Its nice to go to a family pizza place.

  • Carm B.

I'm betting they do a huge a pickup and delivery business.. we actually ate in. Nothing fancy.. They have a side room with large booths and tables and there is table service. It is also BYOB.. We had some very delicious (very thin crust) pizza and wings (which are baked, not fried), which were equally as tasty. Prices were very decent and the service was good. I would recommend for sure.

    (4)
  • Jay B.

Great thin crust pizza, probably some of the best I have ever had. If you like thin crust then you should try this place out. Be warned though the pizzas are kind of small so yeah.

    (5)
  • Michelle M.

This is one of my favorite pizza places! I always get sausage and green pepper on my pizza from here and It's amazing! Also the mostaccioli is delicious as well. If you haven't tried this place .. Your missing out!

  • Jeffery S.

Came back for more pie. This time a cheese, a pepperoni and a sausage mushroom. All tasted great. This place kicks ass. Best thin crust pizza in Chicago.

  • Beer H.

I wanted to try something new........hour and forty minutes and still no pizza! Never again! Going back to Barone's!

    (1)
  • Abner S.

The pizza was not that good, but not bad either. It was bland. Bland and stale. The sauce was from a can. Ask them. Nothing is fresh. The cheese is not from a deli, it is from a packet. The bread is below average. I really don't understand what all this hype is about. I tried it, but it was BLAND and STALE. Has anyone below me tried Freddy's Pizza? That is a TRUE pizza, not this average out-of-the-packet pizza. Really. Go ahead and try it. Vapiano's Pizza is a SUPERIOR pizza. This pizza is only "great" and 4 out of 5 stars if you are comparing it to Pizza Hut or Dominos. That is why everyone here is giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Because they are comparing it to the lowest of standards. But to be honest, Pizza Hut or Dominos is the equivalent of Mcdonalds or Burger King. Fast food dumps, so of course this is a HUGE upgrade to those places, but to a TRUE and FRESH pizzeria this is a below average experience.

  • Ray G.

Today was the first time trying Villa Nova Pizzeria and it was great. I will update my rating to five stars if they consistently deliver the same quality of food and service. The staff were friendly and appeared to be having a good time when I picked up my order. The pizza was tasty, probably one, if not the best, in Berwyn.

    (4)
  • Patty R.

There is a reason that everyone in my family has this place on speed dial. The crust is very thin, the sauce is excellent, and they use enough to make it juicy, the cheese is so fresh, and we love their sausage and mushrooms. My cousin moved out of the area, and Villa Nova Pizza is the thing she wishes should could have now.

    (5)
  • Molly O.

first time ordering from this location for take out, they got our order wrong. we took the incorrect pizza back and got a new one. they were very apologetic and we appreciated that. they credited us for the toppings we didn't order. it was kind of a pain because we were coming from North Oak Park to Stickney...twice. The pizza was actually very good. we will be back to take out again. Next time we will ask for extra sauce and well done.

    (4)
  • Donna M.

Best pizza in the area. Order the double dough. I just wish they had a larger size pizza. More leftovers.

    (5)
  • Michelle S.

I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza tonite with mozzarella sticks. They were both very good. My only complaint was very little chicken on the pizza. Other than that all was good.

  • Michelle C.

Yum. Yum, yum, yum, YUMMY! Honestly, that pretty much sums up my review here, but there's more to it. See, Villa Nova is the pizza place you refer to your friends who haven't tried it (which, if you have friends who haven't tried Villa Nova, they're not your friends) and then after your friends try it they LOVE it and think you're so cool for recommending it to them. If you like thin crust pizza, you're nuts for not giving Villa Nova a whirl. If you don't like greasy pizza, then you've probably been eating frozen pizza all your life and it's time to let Villa Nova rock your socks off. This is the pizza you order when you're having a movie night with your boyfriend. This is the pizza you order when you're throwing a huge Super Bowl party. This is the pizza you order when you've had a stressful week and a companion to the six-pack in your fridge. But aside from the incredible pizza, the service is good. I can't comment on delivery since I live outside their delivery zone and usually pick up my order, but the gals who answer the phone are always efficient and friendly. I've also never ate here (I think they have seating on the other side, but I could be wrong?) and the storefront makes you feel like you're walking into some side-street pizza joint in NYC. But the restaurant wasn't made for looks. It was made to crank out the most delicious thin crust pizza that will ever touch your tongue.

  • Matt P.

I might be biased because I grew up just down the street from Villa Nova eating their pizza every week or so, but Villa Nova has the BEST thin crust pizza in Chicago. I went to college out of town and every time I came home, Villa Nova pizza was the first thing I would eat. The stuff is so good I get cravings for it. If you like Italian sausage, Villa Nova uses the best their is on their pizza. My favorite toppings to get are sausage and fresh mushrooms. Sorry, Gino and Lou don't even come close. I guess you can't really compare deep dish to thin crust though. It's apples and oranges. On top of the great food, the staff are the friendliest people in the world and make ordering and pickup an enjoyable experience. I have never found a better combination of great food and great people at any other pizzeria in Chicago.

  • Christopher L.

We recently moved into the area and had to find a new pizza place and decided to give Villa Nova a try & we LOVE IT, its 1 of the best pizzas I have ever had, they are #1 on my list from now on, there was no reason to look any further. The thin crust is my favorite and they truly have the best sausage I have ever had! Best pizza in the area hands down!

    (5)
  • Winston Y.

This is my favorite local place to get a pizza. It's not fancy, but the food tastes amazing. I've never seen such large portions of sausage on a pizza, and they make sure it's prepared in a way that every slice has two pieces on it. That's attention to detail. Definitely give them a try.

    (5)
  • Dan N.

You absolutely CAN NOT beat this pie, especially in Chicago. It is without a doubt the best pizza I've ever had.

    (5)
  • Michael K.

They have the best pizza you can ask for.

    (4)
  • Brian F.

Try the SAUSAGE!!!! Best on the face of the planet! The pizza was some of the best I've ever had. The pizza was well-seasoned, had a wonderful thin and crispy crust, and the sausage and jalepeno toppings were a great combo. On the less-good side, the cheese was a little thin, the toppings slide off too easily, and there was a layer of grease that I had to blot away before eating the za. The restaurant itself is REALLY ugly.. It has a distinct cafeteria look took it with REALLY bright lights and ugly pastel-backed chairs. Definitely not a date place. Get your pizza to go. If you do eat here, though, the place is BYOB.

  • J M.

Im pretty picky about pizza. I always compare it to my favorite. This place is one of my top choices for pizza around berwyn. They are fast and the people are friendly. I usually rate pizza on how it is hot and how it is straight from the fridge the next day. This one is pretty good. I like the pepperonis they use. there a little different then the norm and have a nice little crisp to them. As always well done is a must with any thin crust pizza.

  • M W.

My ABSOLUTE favorite pizza of all time, period. Definitely my go-to pizza spot. Nothing can compare. Super thin crust, greasy and cheesy with great sauce. Can't wait till next time.

  • LeeAnne Q.

I love good pizza and Villa Nova is in my top 5 best pizza list! It's thin crust which usually I don't like but their cheese gives the pizza a nice flavor! I got delivery and they said it would be within the hour and it was right on time and still hot!! Delicious for sure!!!!!

Villa Nova is my all time favorite pizza. My Dad grew up moving around Stickney, Berwyn, and Cicero. Now he's more of a "Downers Grove yuppie" (according to his sister who remains in Cicero). Even though he might have generally become yuppified, he still has taste buds for good ol' neighborhood Villa Nova Pizza. My jumbled childhood memories tell me that we actually might have been distantly related to the owner. We would always go in, see a man cooking the pizzas, hugs and kisses would ensue, we'd get a cheek pinching, then we would start up the juke box in the back. We would get some sodas, a couple of delicious thin crust pizzas, and my brother and I would generally raise hell running around the place because we were little and that's what we did. That stopped about 10 or so years back, when that man retired from the restaurant (man I wish I knew the whole story!) and my grandmother passed away so we had fewer reasons to make the drive out to Cicero. However, just about every time we're in the area we stop in and my aunt will bring out Villa Nova pizzas to our house whenever she comes to visit. It is just a great pizza. There are no gimmicks, no frills, just delicious pizza from a little shop in Stickney. (PS- Kudos to the person who posted the picture of the dining area. You made me tear up!)

The raspberry chocolate chip gelato is the best "ice cream" we have ever had. We couldn't resist coming back the next day for seconds! The pizza is the best thin crust pizza we have ever had. It would be dangerous to live nearby.

  • Dan F.

First off, thanks Yelp and Yelpers. I searched for pizza near Oak Park, looked at the "best of" for thin crust, and found this place. The pizza lived up to almost every review on here. I ordered half sausage, half pepperoni, and was beyond satisfied. I prefer the smaller pepperonis that you rarely see elsewhere, and the sausage here is perfect. It was one of those times when the food you're eating is so good that the "full" switch in your brain gets overridden. I would definitely put it as the number one thin crust in the area. I'm extremely happy that I've discovered this place, and will no longer be getting pizza from any other joints in the area.

  • Jill S.

I'm new to the neighborhood and I was looking for a go to pizza place. I found it. Thin pizza is great. Crispy and cooked perfectly every time. Street Parking. Small, unassuming place. Not fancy so don't go to impress people. It's BYOB so if you have some time bring a 6-pack, friends and enjoy. Probably not best for big groups. Carryout is quick whether you call ahead or walk-in. Worth a try if you are in the area.

  • Rich B.

I have been going to Villa Nova for 50 years. It is still the best pizza around bar none. If you people keep complaining about the rude service, then do something about it. Tell the manager!!! Better yet go to Little Caesar or Pizza Hut. Yes it may be thin and sometimes greasy, but the taste is still incredible. If you want to avoid thin pizza and sometimes greasy then go to New York and see how there's is. So stop complaining and enjoy!!!

Very good pizza, I want to try their gelato next time. I heard this place was mobbed up hard, but atleast their friendly to respectful types like me and my friends. The pacman in there eats quarters and might be sped up 2x, but you can sneak by ghosts if you change directions when they are coming up on you. Open late, tastes great, dont hate, bring a date!

This is the best pizza in the area. We have ordered from there several times and the pizza is just awesome. Really flavorful seasonings and great tasting crust.

The pizza is fine, but don't you dare try anything else off their menu. Tonight I ordered a family-sized sausage pizza, mozzarella sticks and french fries, and not only was my order a half-hour late, but everything but the pizza was cold and undercooked. The french fries were the worst; they were honest to god about two minutes removed from coming out of the freezer. Look, I know this is a pizza place, first and foremost, but it's no insane challenge to deep fry some cheese sticks and french fries. If anything, it proves the people working there are careless enough to give their customers food so poorly cooked, it could get them sick. I would have called to get my money back or have them do it again, but I didn't want to wait another 90 minutes to eat. One star, and that is being generous.

5 awesome stars for thin crust pizza and friendly faces.

This is the go-to place for Chicago-style thin-crust pizza. This pizza is simply awesome. The crust is so thin, and the cheese is so delicious. What's interesting is that Villa Nova will ask whether you want canned or fresh mushrooms on a mushroom pizza. My family and I have ordered from Villa Nova for years. If I had to give them one critique it is that it takes about an hour for the pizza to be ready, even if we pick it up ourselves. Other than that small aspect, Villa Nova is the best!

Best thin crust south of the tracks!

  • Carrie S.

My favorite pizza! I use to live right next door to Villa Nova and it was my pizza place of choice. (and no I did not eat it every day!) I turned my husband (then boyfriend) on to it....city boy that he is...he LOVED & still LOVES Villa Nova. We have moved away but still not too far from Stickney and this is still our go to pizza joint. Everything is yummie....the sauce, the toppings and the crust is the perfect thick (or should I say thin?) ness. The last time we ordered I was even asked if we wanted fresh or canned mushrooms. Huh! Only thing bad I have to say.....years ago when I ordered a pizza my Mom asked for hot wings. What she got was a few chicken wings with splashes of hot sauce doused on top. WTH. Oh well, I didnt' care....i don't eat wings and I LOVE their pizza.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The "service" is horrible, the pizza is a thin floppy greasy DISGUSTING MESS and I will NEVER order from here again! I lived blocks away from this place my whole life and never bothered with them. Now I know why. My friend was hungrily searching Yelp for a good local pizza joint because our favorite pizza parlor was closed. What a mistake it was to order from Villa Nova. We paid nearly $30 for that hot mess of a pizza and wound up tossing it in the trash. We called to complain and were cursed out and hung up on by the half-dead rude little bitch that answers the phone and takes orders. You would think that in these tough economical times, local small businesses would be bending over backwards to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business, but not this rat hole! Save your money people and take it to any other local hard-working business where they actually APPRECIATE their customers! You won't get that at Villa Nova, nor will you get an edible pizza.

  • Joe M.

A pizza place's worth is on it's pizza and Villa Nova's is damn good. No frills just a quality thin crust with the option of double dough. A few choices for toppings and a tasty sauce make it good enough for a repeat as long as your not going out of your way. After dining at the place I would highly recommend get take out. There's about 15 people working the kitchen and they clearly don't fit and it's loud. The decor hasn't been updated since 1981 (note the Galaga arcade machine). They also have gelato that is worth checking out.

This is my kind of pizza. Buttery crisp crust without being burnt. Soooo good. I lived outside of their delivery route, so I would have to pick it up, but it was worth it every single time.

Awesome thin crust pizza! Try the Italian beef with giardinieria pizza...wow! Their sausage is as tasty as everyone says. Once I had that with their fresh mushrooms on their thin crust, it was amazing. Thank you!

Who'da thunk. We always forget the out of the way established joints. Go outta your way and do yourself a favor and sink your jaws into one of these pizzas. And, you ain't payin' downtown prices...so spend the money on the gas if you're not local, and get one to go. 'nuff said.

Villa Nova... Good points: Tasty pizza. One downside, in terms of food: toppings slide off the thin crust, which does not happen on a properly prepared pizza. This, however, can be easily remedied. Not so easily remedied.... Bad points: 1. Unfriendly employees. Perfunctory at best. Shouldn't "Can I help you?" or "Have a good night" at least be accompanied by some semblance of a smile and a tone of voice indicating genuine good will? 2. Did I mention the unfriendly employees? Would it be possible to continue your conversation after greeting the customer? 3. How many times does a customer have to return before aforementioned employees recognize customer and refrain from asking for an ID? Far larger businesses do a better job of recognizing their customers. 4. Employees do not make customers feel welcome, nor do customers feel as if their business or loyalty is appreciated. In closing, the food here is not the problem. The main issue with Villa Nova is the unpleasant service. We used to recommend Villa Nova to friends, but due to this issue, that is no longer the case.

YUMMY YUMMY GOODNESS! One of my favorites in the area! The pizza is delish. I've never been to Villa Nova, we also get delivery, it can sometimes take an hour, but that is ok with me because it's well worth the wait. And the delivery man is the BEST! He is so nice, TIP HIM EXTRA! I dont know his name though....

    (5)
  • Victoria h.

The pizza is "eh" ok. It's thin and is loaded with cheese. The prices are..well...a little on the high side, but you will also get fresh pizza with quality ingredients. We also ordered a small salad which I was extremely disappointed in. extremely. Imagine, you open a round tin and you see a ton of lettuce and 3 slices of tomato. That is their definition of salad. The fact that they call it a salad should be against the law.

Best thin crust pizza in Chicago-land. They recently added fresh mushrooms to their ingredients list. That is a winner!

That there is DAMN GOOD PIZZA! Worth every minute it took to deliver it too.

With all due respect to Pat's Pizza on the North Side, Pizano's on State St., and Vito and Nick's on the South Side, Villa Nova is the best thin crust pizza in Illinois, and probably the best in all of America. Every person I have ever brought into Villa Nova has walked away saying that was the best thin crust pizza they ever had. Period. I know Vito and Nick's gets all the rave here in Chicago. Yes, they make a good thin crust pizza; but, nothing compares to Villa Nova. Anyone going here looking to get exotic toppings on their pizza should not come here. Just get the simple cheese and sausage. This is an old fashioned, no frills, kind of place. Just keep it simple- cheese and sausage. Their homemade sausage is the best sausage I have ever had on a thin crust pizza. They put huge chunks of sausage on their pizza, and the flavor of the sausage is just out of this world. Just really good, old fashioned, Chicago style thin crust pizza.

  • David A.

Not bad but they don't cook it long enough the center pieces are always floppy

    (2)
  • Stephen H.

The sausage, green pepper and onion pizza did not have much flavor or seasoning, it was pretty bland. The edges of the pizza were very good. The garlic dressing for the salad was great but the salad was too plain also had to dump all the olives that come on the salad.. Vito & Nicks much better. No one sitting at tables at 5 PM. BYOB.

Best Pizza ever! Just read all the reviews... Need I say more? I've been coming here over 30 years from the City. It's the best!

  • Mary O.

Ok....heres my story....years ago someone in my life raved about this pizza. I listened and ignored for over a year. Then I was watching the local news reporting that the owner of villa nova, an old 'mobster' passed away........well thats all I had to hear. I ordered that weekend, and never ordered from anywhere else. The sausage and cheese is unbelievable. I grew up on great pizza.....capizzi's and grand slam. This is the closest to Capizzi's that I ever found. This place is the best! Order it crispy in a box.....you won't be sorry!

Their pizza is the bomb!! Love it. And they deliver pretty fast too. Especially if you're on the south side of the tracks.

Suprisingly good pizza. When I moved to Berwyn I was skeptical about being to find a decent pizza place and all I can say is this place is great. The crust is thin and sauce is amazing.

Fresh Garlic Thin Crust Pizza and Cheesy garlic bread. I may not have smelled good, but hot damn if I wasn't well fed. Yum Yum Yum.

  • Brent D.

This is everything that you'd want in a pizzeria. Good food, good people, and good prices. Not to mention, they offer a friendly and quick delivery service. If you're looking for the latest toppings, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an old-school, no frills pizza joint that kicks out a solid cheese/sausage pizza, look no further. This place is as consistent and solid as they come. If only they were closer...

    (4)
  • Tim L.

Best pizza in the area. The sausage is large balls placed in grid over the pizza so you get two sausages per slice. My wife loves it. I'd prefer a more crumbled sausage. The other toppings are great and plentiful.

    (5)
  • Martha C.

SO good. Since we moved to Berwyn this has become our favorite pizza place, and there are really *a lot* of pizza places around here. We always have it delivered, and it is pretty quick. Great thin crust pizza- it doesn't keep well though so eat it while it is fresh.

    (5)
  • Draz F.

Great Pizza!!!! We really love the thin crust sausage!! It really puts an emphasis on the sausage and it isn't too greasy!! Our go to place for za!!

So disappointed. Ordered from here 3 times in the past few months. Always order the sausage with fresh mushrooms pizza.. Ist time, pizza was perfect, nice crispy thin crust,,2nd time thin crust, a little soggy, the 3rd and last time we will order from here, the pizza was horrible, the crust was so soggy we had a hard time picking it up.

This place makes a very good thin crust pizza. In fact, the crust doesn't get much thinner than Villa Nova. Kinda pricey, but their sausage is homemade and they definitely don't cheat you when they add it to your pizza. Their delivery is also quick. Highly recommended

I agree with Tim L...best pizza in the burbs been eating it for years.

  • Elyse K.

I grew up in Berwyn and I love Villa Nova's amazing thin crust pizza. They've recently raised their prices so I don't order it very often anymore. This has absolutely nothing to do with their pizza -- it's still stellar. Don't ever change, Villa Nova!

    (4)
  • Jamie R.

It's on our corner and I couldn't be more grateful. I'm picky. It's greasy, cheesy and the crust is like butter. Usually get sausage and spinach so the kids get some veggies. The best local pizza within walking distance :)

    (5)
  • John L.

This pizza is so thin, if you held it up at eye level, all you would see are the cheese and toppings! Don't get me wrong, the crust is there. It's just so thin and cooked just right that the perfect flaky-crispy crust makes such a nice crunchy sound, but not overly-crunchy. Toppings. I'm simple when it comes to toppings. The reason is that if the pizza is truly good, the sauce and crust are all you should need. But, some good sausage grease from large almost 1-inch in diameter Italian chunks and some onions baked into it never hurts (so long as the sausage is good, unlike Domino's...wait that's NOT pizza!) I think the Villa might be a little better than John's on Western, but they are similar. I'm not sure. Haven't had John's since last winter. Delivery was fast and hot and the delivery boy might have been stoned. Wish I could be stoned at work...haha.

We have been searching for thin thin crust since moving to oak park. Just had take out after reading yelp reviews and it was a home run. Great sausage tasty sauce and cracker pastry type crust. Worth the 10-15 minute drive for pick up, but more likely will pick up on my way home from work....if they would only deliver to oak park I think this would be our go to pizza joint. I am hoping the new buffalo location is just as good

This is by far THE BEST PIZZA in the world!!!! My brother-in-law used to work in Cicero and bring this pizza home all the time - I love it so much I still drive to Stickney to get my Villa Nova fix! I wish every day there was a Villa Nova on the Northside of Chicago! The buttery crust and taste is out of this world! My favorite combo - Double Dough, extra sauce, onions and either sausage or pepperoni. YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY!

  • Ray N.

I've only eaten pizza from here a few times when I was over at my cousin's house, but they have a unique flavor and a wide array of toppings. They're not as sweet as Nonno's, not as bland as Bacci's, but somewhere kind of in between. It's probably closer to Al's or Salerno's in terms of the sauce flavor but not really. If you don't want Pizza Hut or the newly-opened Little Caesar's, give these guys a shot.

  • K J.

I live down the street from this place and have to admit that it is one of the best pizza places around. I agree with another yelper that the only place that can come close is John's on Western Ave in the city. Once I move out of the area, this is the only restaurant in berwyn I will come back for. Delicious! I usually keep it simple with cheese or cheese and tomato.

    (5)
  • Pam F.

Oh how I wish I lived closer to this place. The pizza is so thin that it just doesn't travel well in the car for 20 minutes waiting for me to get home. And the "restaurant" atmosphere here is not exactly what I'm looking for. Their pizza is one of the best thin crust pizzas you will ever find ANYWHERE. Thin thin thin.

  • America Q.

I took my son there to get some mostacholi and I got a meatball sandwich for myself. I must say that the mostacholi was the BEST I've ever had. It had a delicious meat sauce and tons of mozzarella cheese on it. The sandwich was also great, the sauce had great flavor, I believe it was the same one they used for the mostacholi and it also had mozzarella cheese. The meatballs could have been bigger but other than that it was all good.

I love this pizza its one of the favoritos of mine. I am so picky about sausage and this is the sausage pizza that I will eat. Thin crispy lightly buttery flavor crust so delicious. Damn I can go for one now. Yea its greasy but a good and delicious greasy. Yummerz

  • Edward B.

Absoultely the BEST thin-crust pizza I have EVER had. Others pale in comparison. The other crusts they offer are okay, but the thin-crust is transcendant. My favorite is pepperoni with extra cheese. My wfie loves the sausage (and she's picky about Italian sausage - she prefers to make her own!). The kids love just plain cheese (with extra cheese), and it's my second favorite. Delivery is fairly quick, but you can save 15-20 minutes (and a tip) by picking it up.

  • michael k.

Villa Nova pizza has the best thin crust pizza I have ever had, Having lived in Stickney for 22 years I grew up on this pizza, I always get the cheese and sausage. I have to warn you though, you can become addicted to this pizza it's that good!!!!!

    (5)
  • K G.

Let me say again that I'm really picky about my pizza. And, I'll add that I went here because I was told it was for those weirdo who do not like Chicago style pizza. The crust is great. I love it. It's the right texture, not too thin (I wouldn't say like a cracker crust), not too thick, not mushy, a little texture, it's wonderful. The cheese is lumpy and slides off the pizza, along with all the toppings. When you make a pizza with thin crust, you really should put the toppings on top of the pizza. It seemed like they used canned mushrooms and the onions have not tasted fresh. I am going to keep searching for that great pizza.

    (3)
  • Vanessa P.

Some of the best pizza around. It's super thin, so if you're looking for something with substance, you won't get it here. Taste, however, you will get. I've heard good things about the Italian sausage, but my favorite toppings are: tomato, onion and pineapple. Sounds gross, but tastes fantastic.

I was just about to sign papers at the closing on a house I was buying in fabulous Forest View Illinois...when from across the table the nice folks I was buying from hollered out: "Oh! We almost forgot to tell you about the pizza!" I was then commanded to only order from Villa Nova...the only pizza the house had ever had inside in 50 years. Those folks were right on! Great thin crispy crackery crust, good flavor, fast delivery. My only beef with Villa Nova...I too wish there was a way to somehow make the cheese stick to the bottom more. But since I think it's impossible to do - I'll continue to order this delicious neighborhood pizza and you should to!

  • Jeff W.

this place is a pizza factory-super thin-super fresh ingredients-only problem is pizza is so thin, you need alot to be satisfied-also prices are not cheap for a divey pizza place-pizza is first class-i reco the sausage

  • Victor S.

Half of my chintzy slice was stuck to the box. I should've left it there. It resembled bowling alley or roller rink pizza at its worst.

  • Thomas G.

Absolutely the best pizza around. They even now have some new flavors. I"m hooked on the beef and hot gardinare as well as the buffalo chicken with bacon.

  • Tony S.

Specific reply to Jeffery S review: Ownership certainly has NOT changed at Villa Nova. It has been owned by the same family since its opening...and the current family member running the place has been the same for 25+ years. The pizza is the same as it has been for the past 50+ years. The layout they do with the sausage is the same as ever...one piece on all center pieces, 2/3 on sides, 3 on corners. You may have just got a poorly made pizza...it can happen.
