Not sure what all the hype is about. There are plenty of better pizza places in the Tri-Cities area...let alone Chicago. Bland sauce and crust make for a boring pie. I would give the pizza about 2.5 stars, however, it was the managers refusal to accept a valid coupon we received from Welcome Wagon that is the reason for a single star. The coupon was for 50% off a Large Deep Dish or Extra Large Thin Crust - a great deal to be sure - but they said they never issued the coupon (complete BS) and instead gave us $3 off which might have paid for the gas we used driving from Batavia. Nice trick to get us into the restaurant, but we won't be back...ever.

Some colleagues and I decided to head to Giordano's during our national training and we all enjoyed the pizza. We had the meat and more meat, supreme, and I think pepperoni large pizzas. All were delicious. Their appetizers could've been better though as it was pretty small and consisted of nothing special. The service was 7/10. We didn't experience anything too bad from what I've seen the other Yelp users have posted. We'll be back next time we're in town.

One of my top ten WORST service experiences at a restaurant ever. We had an advanced reservation for a large party, and were told that the restaurant would be ready for us, no problem. It took us two and a half hours for our meal. They mixed up our orders, never brought stuff, brought the wrong stuff. Our kids were miserable having to wait so long. Never once did they apologize, and they had the audacity to insist on a 20% service tip included in the bill. And the restaurant, outside of our party, had only a few other groups, so they could hardly blame it on being busy. We totally understand that it takes them a while to bake the pizzas, but it took over two hours for some of us to get our orders. They seemed totally confused and disorganized, almost as if they had grabbed random people off the street and asked them to work the restaurant for the evening. The pizza was good, but hardly memorable, and definitely not worth putting up with the incompetent service. Avoid.

Pizza is ok nothing to write home about but the worst part is their customer service, its seem some of the people there don't want to be there, if you don't want to deal with the public then get a job that you don't have to period. It's takes forever to get your food, waitress seem she was in another planet but this has to deal with management too, if they don't care the employee are not going to care either! I wouldn't waste my time eating there at all!!

Omg was so happy to eat here. We had the deep dish and it was excellent. The service was great, they were helpful and attentive. Lived here years ago and just like I remembered. Oh yes and they will ship pizza home, I got two delivered to my home so I could share with friends in the south. The instructions to do after thaw were excellent and my home pizzas were a big hit.

Pizza was amazing but service was slow. The Chicago style deep dish is huge and thick. They have extra thin which I like and it was super good. Prices aren't bad either.

Their deep dish almost cannot be beat - IMO Connie's has slightly better deep dish, & Charlie Foxe's is DEFINITELY better thin crust, but this place has been pretty close to the top end of the scale for years & years. WATCH OUT for the chopped salad though - HOLY BLUE CHEESE!! The amount they put on the Chopped Salad for take-out orders is ridiculous - after the cost of the massive amount of blue cheese, I'd be surprised if they made $1 profit on my order today : )

The pizza was very delicious and worth the wait. The service was excellent. The spaghetti and meat sauce was good, but not excellent.

Ordered a cheese and sausage with extra cheese thin crust and got an undercooked cheese with no meat and no flavor even after I sprinkled a bunch of red pepper flakes on it. It was so disappointing I gave some to my dog and threw the rest away. This pizza is not worthy of Chicago's reputation for great pizza! Never again! I think the other reviews must have been written by employees.

So I booked this Giordano's location for the rehearsal dinner before my wedding. I reserved the time and date about 2 months in advance and was told to call back about a week before to place my order for food. I did just that and they were very helpful and everything seemed to be in order. When my party arrived at the time of our reservation they claimed to have no record of our reservation and no food order. I had record in my phone that I called their location a week prior, so I honestly don't know how we got lost in the shuffle. A mistake was made which can obviously happen, but the staff never once apologized for the error. They eventually got tables together for our party of 35 people, but we were only given one waiter to take care of us. She was not the best, but I gave her a lot of credit for her effort because she was put in an entirely unfair situation. They slowly got drinks for everyone and the salads came eventually, but my husband and I had to approach them about placing our pizza order. If we had not asked the staff, who knows how much longer we would have had to wait for food. It was supposed to be a pizza "buffet", but instead the 10 pizzas we order trickled out of the kitchen and were not distributed among our tables very efficiently. Some people had to wait 30 minutes for a slice of pizza. At the end of the night we were charged $16/person for the pizza "buffet" and salads, but we only ended up ordering those 10 pizzas. Our bill totaled well over $800 when we didn't consume anywhere near that amount of food. Once again the staff never apologized for the poor service and messing up our reservation and we were not offered any type of compensation for the trouble. My mother-in-law went back to the restaurant the following Monday and was able to clear things up with the manager who was shocked to hear what had happened. The owner of the location was in the restaurant that night and basically ignored the situation. The manager refunded us $450 and that part of our experience was very helpful and appreciated. Ultimately I would made two suggestions to anyone in a similar situation: 1) DO NOT have a large party at his location, logistically they don't really have the means to make it work 2) Just pay for what your large party is going to eat, the party packages are not worth it unless each person eats a TON of pizza I hope this helps!

Excellent Deep Dish Pizza. Very nice environment with helpful staff. I loved the dinner salad and excellent addition to any meal you order as its a steal for $1.95. You will enjoy the flavourful Deep Dish Pizza. I personally ordered the Chicago Classic There's also enough parking here for Semi Truck as it's located in a mall. :D

I've been here countless times when I lived in the area, and now that I live in St. Louis, I miss it SO MUCH! I've had all kinds of pizza, and there is no pizza like deep dish Chicago-style pizza, and there is no deep dish like Giordano's! I'm sort of a picky eater so I usually just get sausage and peppers in mine but yum yum so tasty!! Takes a while to cook (45 minutes I think??) but SO worth it! My mom prefers thin crust pizza, so I've had this several times and it's very good as well! The last time I went here with my family, they were out of BOTH appetizers that we wanted to order (mozz sticks and cheesy bread). It was fairly early on in the evening, so that was a little disappointing but otherwise, service has always been great here!

MARK MY WORDS: There is no finer pizza place anywhere in the country. Not much else to say; the service is good enough (even when my dad insists on casually flirting with the exceedingly patient waitresses) and the place is comfy. I really haven't eaten anything else here besides the famous stuffed pizza, but why would you!? This place is far better than Gino's East (ew) or Lou Malnati's (passable). I highly recommend this place to everyone I know, even those crazy New Yorkers who think cheesy cardboard qualifies as pizza, and I've never had anyone claim that I've steered them wrong.

Great Place and Great Food - we've been going here for years and keep coming back. Usually for lunch - the pizzas are great and the other Italian foods are also very good.

this place is a 9-iron from the office i go into 1 day a week. So today the boss ordered it up for the marathon marketing collab our group had and it wasn't too bad...on the plus, she insisted I take it home for my 4-y/o who devoured it for dinner. There's better pizza out there imo, and granted, we only had the thin (which is a pretty "thick" thin by Chicago thin crust standards. Great sausage and great sauce but the bit-too-thick-and-doughy crust knocks off at least one star. A meager 3 spot bc there are so many other pizza's I'd rate higher.

Normally I don't rate things so low. I've never been served here but mostly get take out or delivery. EVERY TIME... they overcook something and has singe marks. The first time I went with a friend and the thin crust pizza was burnt and had a lot of black near the edges and bottom of the pizza. It was edible but, it just felt... I don't know... overpriced for burnt pizza. If I get a nice pizza at a nice restaurant, I expect quality. Quality ingredients are great but not with poor quality cooking. Once I had flatbread and it came out extra extra crispy, dry, and with black edges and bottom. My boyfriend also got me a pizza the other day and it was soooo yummy but again... I love pepperoni, so he topped it off with some pepperoni, however, the pizza tasted amazing and good but my pepperoni were mostly all burnt. I ate them but they still tasted burnt. I'm loving the menu and the deep dish is definitely the way to go. The flatbreads are good. Garlic fries could be improved. Salads are huge! They deserve more stars once I've eaten something not so burnt.

Great location! We went early on a Saturday afternoon. We had a deep dish that was really good. Waitress was excellent and a professional. A great experience! We will be back!

Pizza was good (love the garlic broccoli), but wasn't hot when first brought out. Sent it back to heat up and it wasn't much better. Steer clear of the Caesar salad (sorriest excuse I've ever seen); tried 4 diff salads, Greco one was decent... If given a choice, would rather go to Lou Malnati's.

What can you say, it's Giordano's Pizza. Of course the pizza is excellent. As far as this location goes, the service is excellent, the servers and hostess are very friendly. I would most definitely recommend this location. I have been to the one in Wheaton & i could not give it the same praise.

We just had the BEST time at my celebration tonight! Everyone was so helpful and so very gracious!!! We must have had 30-40 people there, and the staff was never impatient or rude or non-helpful... on the contrary, they went above expections on food, service and even extras (like borrowing an extension cord for my dad's surprise slide show for me). Wow! They were great!!! Words cannot express my gratitude for good food and priceless memories! Although there was no "side room," they squared off a corner for us that worked perfectly, even on a Friday night!

I have gotten delivery and take out here. I really enjoy their soup so when I'm not feeling that good I usually want some. The last time I ordered delivery from here they had forgotten something ( it think it was sauce - something small) I called them and the guy who answered knew it was me and had the delivery guy come back within 10 minutes and bring whatever it was. That really impressed me.

What can I say? If you like deep dish pizza, this place is fantastic. We had good service. We called ahead so that we would not have as long of a wait, and our pizza was delicious.

I like this place. Food is fresh, waitstaff is very friendly and not pushy to get customers out of the door. I really find it a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a wonderful meal. Definitely recommended.

Another visit to our Corporate Headquarters and another pizza for me!! They even got my order wrong by one small topping and I'm still giving them FIVE STARS! I absolutely LOVE stuffed pizza from Giordano's.

Loved Giordano's before I was GF... had a wedding rehearsal dinner there this weekend and, having not been there in awhile, checked out the menu online to check out what I'd be able to eat. I settled on a salad, nothing special. When I get there, the server mentions to someone else that there is a GF pizza option! Huzzah! I order it, but it was not too great. It didn't seem like there was hardly any sauce on the pizza, but the crust must have soaked it all up because it was kinda soggy. The crispy crust edges also had a flavor reminiscent of sugar cookies, which was kinda weird. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise, and I am glad that they are catering to the GF crowd, but it wasn't my favorite. I think they are trying to do a deep-dish style crust that they are so famous for, but in execution, the thinner crusts just seem to work better for GF dough. I'm not giving up on you yet, Giordano's! But I would appreciate a revised crust recipe. :)

What's so good about this place? It's not horrible but it's not great either. It's just there and I don't ever crave their pizza nor do I pass up a slice if it's free either. I like stuffed pizza once in a while but it's not my first choice but don't get me wrong. I still gave it 3 stars and that's not horrible. Maybe I've just been spoiled by authentic Chicago stuffed pizza.

We met up with Dan and Heidi (hi kids!!) for a Friday night out of 'za and friendship (03/07/08). We're anxious for the new Giordano's to open up in North Aurora soon, but in the meantime, since MK was jonesing some stuffed pie we made the trek up to SanCarlos and enjoyed a Large stuff Cheese and Sausage. Giordano's is consistent. Pizza is their business and they are a Chicago institution so we've never had a problem there. We did have an appetizer order of mozzarella sticks and unfortunately I thought they tasted "institutional" (now being used negatively) and that's a shame. With all of that mozzarella in the back, I guess I hoped that they were cutting the cheese (har har) by hand and then deep-frying it fresh. Unfortunately they didn't. But listen, this is a fantastic meal by any measure. Now, in the great pizza debates of history, this is NOT my favorite stuffed 'za (that would be Gino's East), but frankly there is NO bad pizza in life (except Chuck E. Cheese's). I had a leftover slice the next morning cold and it held up nicely as well. Good times, good drinks and good za.

I've only had their pizza, which is great, but when it comes to customer service this place gets a 1/5. I came to pick up my phone order and had to wait an additional 20 minutes beyond the time they said it would be ready. The workers at the counter were rolling their eyes (looking like they did not want to be there), not informing me of the status of my order, and were not even apologetic about the wait and lack of service provided to me. The pizza is good, but I know other places that can make good pizza while also giving great customer service as well.

Decent food, poor service. Went in with a party of five - three adults, two children. We had to wait about five minutes to be seated though the restaurant was only about 75% full. After being seated for ten minutes someone finally asked if we had been helped. When we told her we hadn't it took another five minutes to return to take our order. When they brought our drinks we were informed they ran out of ice. Needless to say even the water was bad. We placed our order and I realize it takes time to bake a deep dish pizza but this one took over an hour with no explanation. Upon finishing our meal we were presented with a check containing an 18% gratuity. When we asked why, they said they do that for all the "big tables". Since when is a party of five considered a large table? I insisted they remove the charge and we'd figure it out on our own. Needless to say they received less than 18%.

This location and Streamwood are very consistent in putting out a great tasting stuffed pizza. We usually get take out. The quality is the same as the early days. The sauce is flavorful not too spicy but the right amount. If you desire a stuffed pizza from a "Chain type "pizzaria this should be your choice.

This is my favorite deep-dish Chicago style pizza! Lou's and Gino's E are ok but Giordano's is mm mm mmmm! 2 pieces are more than enough for me in one sitting. I've been to this location a couple of times since moving here and we have ended up with the same waitress both times. I don't know her name but she is super sweet.

  • Sean P.

The famous stuffed pizza is always very good, but nothing else on the menu is really that exciting. It takes a little longer to cook (45 minute wait), but is definitely worth trying. I recommend the Chicago Classic.

Love the Gluten Free Pasta but disappointed at how expensive it is and how much longer it takes in preparing.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
