The service is unpredictable, we've had fantastic servers and we've had some of the worst. I don't recall ever having a long wait time, even at dinner. Food is always good!

Last time we were in, the snowcrab was dry. This time it was dry. I ran seafood restaurants in AL and GA. This happens when the crab is either steamed while thawed and left sitting or (and most likely) steamed and left sitting in a sad attempt to par-cook (which you NEVER do with crab, or most seafood) and then reheated to give the appearance it was just cooked. The "crab cake" (see photo) was a flat, disintegrating and dry disk...it wasn't even as big as a grocery store crab cake. Yet Sam (the woman manager on duty) said this was how their crab cakes are supposed to be (minus a little "flaking). We will never return...you shouldn't go either. At least we only spent $65.

Walked in dressed nicely with my two quiet and calm children while my mother parked the car. I didn't need a high chair or a booster and as in standing a foot away from the counter the three women are debating on where (more of who) they're going to seat me with. After two minutes of listening I stood by my children who were looking at the lobsters. They did not say a word to me. I informed my mother what was going on she pulled the manager over as I took the kids to the car. The manager responded "well there's few tables we can seat a high chair at." Again we didn't need a high chair. So outback got our service. I will not be back.

There doesn't seem to be a point to writing a review, you know what Red Lobster is right? I've eaten at many Red Lobsters and its my moms favorite place up in Michigan, but this one in Springfield is just nasty. The strong fishy smell about drove me to leave as soon as I was seated. I ordered an IPA and when the waitress came back and said they didn't have it after telling me it was "in the computer" I just walked out. Being in the computer isn't nearly as good as being in the fridge. That place needs a major facelift.

We arrived at the restaurant as a party of 4 with a highchair at approx. 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait which was questionable since there was only one party of 2 ahead of us and the parking lot didn't have many vehicles in it. But we decided to stay. In the 20 minute wait several parties between 2 and 4 came in behind us and were seated ahead of us. I might add that all parties ahead and behind us received buzzers. We did not. After watching everyone getting seated I asked the hostess why we weren't being seated and why we didn't receive a buzzer. She said they can not sit a highchair at a booth. At that time the manager came to the hostess station and I was NOT a happy customer. He said he would be glad to help me out. But the idea that several people came in after us and seated that didn't haven't a child that needed a highchair and the fact that the hostess had just told me there were only certain seats for highchairs, I was not willing to give the Springfield, IL Red Lobster my business. I told the manager in no uncertain terms would never I visit that restaurant again. We drove less than a block to The Outback Steakhouse and were seated before the whole party could even get in the restaurant and at a booth. They also had unlimited shrimp which is why we were at Red Lobster to eat.

We were visiting Springfield and wanted to have dinner at a restaurant we were familiar with from other travels. Overall this red lobster was very good, Ceasar salads with shrimp were great, seafood chowder good and the 30 Shrimp dinner very good. Drinks a little expensive and taste a but watered down. You cannot go wrong at red lobster.

My God, change the oil in the fryers. Food is nasty and cold. Service? What's that? She could have cared less. Complain about food? Maybe if we have the customer wait long enough they will leave. Since they didn't, let's just offer them a free dessert. Manager never did bother to come speak to us. The worst experience at a RL ever.

If I could give ZERO, I would. While driving with a friend from an exhausting day in St Louis to go home in Chicago, I phoned ahead and spoke to a BUBBLY young hostess. I SPECIFICALLY asked if they had Ameripure Oysters. She said YES. I then asked her exactly how to get there off of route 55. Of course she didn't know, and I said, you know, look out your window, there's a BIG expressway RIGHT THERE. What street do I get off? She put someone older on the phone who told me what exit etc. Exhausted we made it there, and when upon sitting down at the bar, were told that NOOOOO they did not have Oysters. WTF??? The manager (some woman who thought it was COOL to have managed in Chicago LOL) said she had been answering the phones and that no one called asking for directions, let alone Oysters. We decided to leave. I went to the washroom where their paper towel dispenser didn't work. Walked out and got some napkins out of the glove compartment of car. What a waste of time. If they were honest from the get go and told us that the did NOT have Oysters, I would have respected that.

Took my missus out for Mother's Day a week before Mother's Day "I might add" food was cold, taste was subpar, everything I bought here I should have bought at the store and made myself it would have tasted much better. service was crap absolutely hated the experience and wish they would bring their prices down closer to McDonalds to match their quality and service.

Sat at the bar for an early dinner. The bartender was friendly and the service was timed perfectly. The food was on par with other locations. I'm glad we stopped and ate here.

Extremely slow service. Food took over one hour and first drink from bar took 35 minutes. Staff was very friendly but the terribly slow service was very disappointing. Food came out over 15 minute period - food got cold waiting for everyone to be served. Restaurant was not even full at the time. Prob go elsewhere next time I want seafood.

Half of the food was decent like the crab of course but as soon as they brought me my plate I thought my mashed potatoes looked rotten because it was brown and gross looking. I had my mom try it and she said it was probably just instant mashed potatoes.. Yum. And my mom said her shrimp and lasagna tasted fishy. Lastly the service was just hectic, seemed like no one had a clue what was going on. I would suggest somewhere else.

Went there with the family Saturday evening, 11/8. Very busy. Lots of people waiting. We were told 30 min wait but sat within 5 minutes. Price of drinks not listed! Waiter "guesses" it'd be around $8. We had the ultimate feast, lobster pasta, lobster bucket and kid's snowcrabs. Food was pretty good. Corn on the cob was cold like it was dunked in ice water. I'm guessing it was dropped on the floor and washed? Disgusting thought, ruined my dinner 'tho they brought me a new one. Kinda too late. Also the server brought the wrong side then brought the right one after a long wait. Extremely slow service.

Right... It's a Red Lobster, so you know what you're going to get. No mysteries here. My visit was Sunday, 11/4/2011. We went at 6:30pm and the place was really slow. There were 5 of us in our party. We got a couple of appetizers and the "Crispy Calamari and Vegetables" was well cooked. Everyone enjoyed it. I ordered the Harborside Lobster and Shrimp. Shrimp was nicely done, lobster slightly over cooked. Of course the Cheddar Bay Biscuits were delicious. The best thing about the visit was our server. She was amazing. Friendly, fast and genuine about her service, not just playing it up or milking it for a bigger tip. I don't like to go to Red Lobster often but next time i'm there i'll be asking for Shauna for sure!

Red Lobster a sea food restaurant. It has nice quality and the decorations are good. However, it is surprisingly pricey and the food is dry greasy. They have a variety, but it's all a matter of ordering correctly.

God bless my hometown Red Lobster -- a beacon of predictable quality shining just off of exit 96 on I 55. The cheddar bay biscuits here have been served piping hot for nearly three decades, and the decor bespeaks a sturdy maritime ethos more Central Maine than Lake Springfield. I worked here two summers during College and what a happy two summers they were. Our staff of glorious misfits would all head to the old Bombay Bicycle Club after a shift to unwind with a cocktail or five and stumble through some late-night karaoke. And to the 5-top of construction workers that would come in religiously every Friday circa. July 1997 to knock back Budweiser bottles and surf and turf specials and then tip 40% ... I salute you all.

Red Lobster is a joke! If you are in springfield and want good seafood go to the Old Lux or even Cheasapeak but don't go here!
