Mimosa is usually our family's go to place for dining out. The last few times we have noticed that the servers (while very freindly and attentive) haven't had much knowledge about but he menu. Our most recent visit my husband and daughter were sent the wrong food. when the correct item did come my husband's had a large hair in it. That was sent back and another was brought out after that was finished eating. when the manager delivered the bill he charged us for what we ordered and the items that we didn't order (or eat). when we explained it to him he came back with the full bill, no discount for the hair and wrong food and not apology or any measure of service recovery. For that reason we choose not to return. So while the food is good, customer beware that if you do encounter a problem chances are there will not be any service recovery measures taken.

Oh boy... The place is very appealing to the eyes. It has a nice ambiance about it. Our waitress was nice, but... She gave us someone else's food, then gave our food to someone else. Then we overheard her saying she also works at Magic Kitchen. Working at magic kitchen you'd think she'd be a relatively skilled waitress due to that place being so popular. The food was average. I had crab Rangoon and Chicken pad Thai. Both were good, but far from the best in springfield.

One of the better places to go for a quick sushi lunch. I did the 2 sushi roll lunch special. With the salad and soup it filled me up nicely. I will definitely be going back. I had the salmon and Alaska rolls. Wish I had more wasabi, but that is my own personal taste.

Opened yesterday and we were there to try it out today. A few highs and a few lows... Highs - the place is beautiful, they work hard at presentation and the food all seemed to be fresh & high quality. The little kid liked her shrimp tempura roll better than what she's been served at several other places in town. Lows - speed of service (not unusual given that they are new), sushi combination served over ice (looked neat but chilled nigiri sushi is sub-optimal), tapioca balls in the smoothie weren't pliable and it ruined the drink. The wife thought the drunken noodles are better at a couple of other places in town. It will be interesting to watch this place develop over the next few months...

I went for noon lunch and was pleased with the lunch options. The cashew chicken had a nice flavor and a decent portion. Egg roll and soup come with lunch specials for $7. Nice atmosphere+good food+good price=return customer.

I like the ambience of the place. The waitresses are attentive without being overly so. We come here especially when it is someone's birthday because it's clean, has a wide variety of food for all our food-specialty-diet-needs, and they have decent seating. It has a steady stream of people and we don't feel rushed. I like the seafood rice bowl. The sushi are also nice. The volcano roll was fun and yummy..and mild-mod spicy. =)

Food was average and we had an unhappy waitress who couldn't turn away from you any faster. My mimosa special fried rice had pork sausage in it after I requested no pork. Before she walked away with my dish, I was willing to order a different type of fried rice that doesn't come with meat if removing pork was difficult. There was no time for discussion. Our waitress left our table without a word and we just hoped that her snappy manner may mean my fried rice will be made again. Re-made fried rice was the smallest portion size I've seen for $9.95. However, she smiled a little and lingered long enough to tell us to take our time with the check. Will not go back. Why endure miserable service when you're paying for a meal that is neither tasty nor plenty.

I am really saddened by how much this place has deteriorated since it opened. I went a few times when it first opened, and it was DELICIOUS. Not so much anymore. Today is the second time I have gone to Mimosa for lunch, and both times have been extremely disappointed. I ordered the teriyaki steak bento box, and chicken satay. Chicken satay is pretty good, nothing special. Decent. The bento box was just.....ick. The steak was fatty and rubbery and WAY overcooked. The eggroll was ice cold and soggy. The California Roll was just okay (then again, CA rolls are pretty safe sushi territory) The salad was gross, with some weird dressing that was not the ginger I was expecting. The miso soup tasted....off. Like they used a mix, but didn't do the proper ratio or something. I won't be going back.

Server doesn't know menu. Didn't receive all our food...which was probably for the better. I like when my food comes out with stuff that isn't supposed to be in it. Go to magic kitchen for real good Thai food. Pass these suckers up. Plus why does it look like a martini bar and not a Thai restaurant.

This place has the best Sushi and General Tso's Chicken I have ever had. The service is always fast and my order has never been wrong since I started going here. You definitely have to try it. You won't be disappointed.

We went to Mimosa for dinner about a week after they'd been open. Reviews seem kind of spotty and I think I fall somewhere between the extremes. We opted not to wait for a table and accepted bar seating. Not sure if that was our best choice. Biggest obstacle was lack of restaurant knowledge from our bartender/server. When going somewhere new, we tend to ask our server for recommendations. Huge mistake here. Our bartender literally said, "I hate this kind of food. I like McDonald's." Jaw. Drop. Okayyyyy. I think it's pretty obvious that that's unacceptable from wait staff. We stuck with safe choices and ordered a spicy tuna roll to share, pad thai for me, and my girlfriend ordered cashew chicken. The three stars comes solely from how good our food actually was. Spicy tuna roll was on point, pad thai was a good mix of sweet and spicy, and the cashew chicken was nice and light, no heavy sauce. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which proved to be a challenge for our bartender. She went exactly by the book since she hadn't made one before. I was sad to see barely one shot in my drink. I won't give the bartender an F--she was super nice the whole night and pretty attentive--just grossly undertrained and not really professional. :/ That actually is pretty bad now that I've read my review. I'm still standing by three stars. The food was good and the atmosphere was a nice upscale change. Oh! And the pricing was SUPER reasonable. I think we got out of there for under $30. I saw lunch specials on there for under $10. Definitely worth a second go.

I love the ambience at this restaurant. Tastefully decorated! Wish spfld had more places like this. I really liked the food. Ive been here a few times already and have had the pad Thai, panang curry and red curry. Loved every dish! Portions are on the larger side. Reasonably priced too!

I really like the papaya salad - it was different than some I have had with the addition of basil - makes a world of difference! The ambiance is fine and the service is typically pretty good. I ordered a couple sushi rolls to split with some clients - all of which tasted good but were drowning in sauce....the pineapple dish with beef was great and my client enjoyed the pad se eu that she ordered. I wish the liquor and beer selection was more interesting but I understand that that may not be the clientele they cater to. Overall the food is decent and so is the service

I'm always skeptical of sushi in the Midwest, and I came into Mimosa on-guard, perfectly ready for a sickeningly dry and tasteless pseudo-sushi experience. That never happened. Instead, the rolls we ordered tasted surprisingly fresh. The sashimi plate that one of our group ordered was presented exceptionally well: savory-looking pieces of fish piled atop a mound of ice, shining blue from a small LED light in the bottom of the plate. It's a job well done if you can get both the fish and the presentation right. I ordered the Pho, which was fine enough, though it tasted more like the street-stall variety as opposed to that which might be ordered at a sit-down place in Vietnam. At least it was authentic in that regard. On the other hand, another of our group ordered the Drunken Noodles, and while I didn't taste them, they certainly looked Americanized: seemingly fried and not drenched in a almost intolerably hot spicy sauce. All in all, I think this is probably a place where you can go with a diverse group of people, and everyone will be able to find something edible and likeable. The presentation can be imaginative, and having lived in Southeast Asia, I can say that the layout and the decor of the restaurant make the place look like it was lifted out of a Vietnamese casino town -- for better or worse.

Not great. Waiter didn't know what he was serving or recommending. The food was ok, but the atmosphere is nice!

I go to Mimosa often and today they truly distinguished themselves as being attentive to customer requests and making what you want. I asked for green curry with no green pepper, just a little tofu, lots broccoli, and some pineapple thrown in. This was one of the finest Thai green curries I have ever had. The miso soup was very nice too. As I left I told the manager that I might come back tomorrow and have the same thing again as it was that incredible.

I really like the decor here. The place is pretty sizeable and has a sushi/alcohol bar in the middle of the restaurant. They have some great lunch specials. I was able to get 3 sushi rolls plus soup and salad for $11. The sushi itself was very good. I had a spicy tuna roll, AAC (asparagus, avocado and cucumber), and Alaska roll. I'll be stopping by again next time I come to or through Springfield.

We've eaten at Mimosa once and did carryout a few times, because it's close to our house. Tonight I tried the teriyaki chicken for the first time. The menu reads, "Grilled with home made teriyaki sauce and vegetables". What I got as "vegetables" was a few onions and two pieces of asparagus. I thought something must be wrong, so I called the restaurant to check. Sure enough, that's all you get as vegetables with the teriyaki. I'll probably be back just because it's close, convenient and fairly inexpensive. No more teriyaki, though!

I ordered edamame, like I always do when I eat sushi, and it had so much salt on it I couldn't eat them. The waitress had the manager come to table. I told him the problem and instead of giving me more edamame he offered to wash them off under the sink with water. Considering how inexpensive edamame is I was blown away by this. I told him I did not want the edamame and it was not a big deal but he insisted upon washing them. He brought them back to table and I had to tell him 3 more times to take them away. He just smiled at me like he didn't understand what I was saying. After I finally got upset he offered to take off of my bill. I will say that the waitress was really sweet and the food is okay. However, the management is terrible and can't speak English so if you eat here I hope you don't need a manager for anything.

Great food! Love the mix and choices of all the different Asian foods. Sushi is good too! Always hit this spot when friends and family are in town. Not sure why others aren't giving a great review.

Great sushi! A little pricey and you don't get as many pieces in a roll as other sushi locations in Springfield, but it's good. I've had the orange chicken and general tso, and it was good as we'll. if you are looking for something a little different, give mimosa a try.

We wanted to try the new Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese Asian Fusion restaurant, Mimosa, since it was featured in our local magazine, "SO - Springfield's Own." I ordered the Shrimp Tempura bento box and was sorely disappointed. The salad had a bland mayo dressing and not the usual ginger dressing found in restaurants that served Japanese cuisine. Now for the Shrimp Tempura, there were exactly two pieces on a bed of battered onions, broccoli and sweet potato. Remember, I ordered Shrimp Tempura and NOT Mixed Tempura? The sauce served with it was Sweet Chili Sauce. I asked for tempura sauce but I was told by our server that was their sauce for the Tempura. The four pieces of California Rolls were acceptable and so was the Miso soup. If there will be a next time, I will opt for the Thai or Vietnamese food. Maybe I will luck out!

I ordered pho since I wanted it soo bad. I have tasted so much better than . The pho soup wasn't so clear which is not supposed to be. The soup of pho in most of the restaurant I have is a lot clearer beef soup. I can stop me from craving too much pho though.

Classy atmosphere with excellent service, many wonderful options. The sushi was our favorite part. My table ordered the 911 Roll( best of the 3), the European Tuna roll, and the American dream, mini egg rolls, Yum Tom soup. Not a drop was left! We ate lunch at 1:15 and it was a good time to go, not too crowded like it would be at noon

Now even after 2 months of being open, it's still a disaster. Avoid at all costs!

Their menu is not accurate (apparently), which I found strange for a recently opened, new business. I went there the other night wanting to order something specific (the Shabu Shabu), but was told they don't serve it! :-/ The food we did order was quite bland and tasteless. I'd save my money and go to a cheap and better place offered in town (like Tai Pan or Hawaiian BBQ).
