Five Stars for using great chicken in the dishes, white meat chicken not the greasy and cheap dark meat. We order from here once a week in the winter months, food and service are very good. Call ahead and pick up or order online and let them know when you want to pick up. My favorites are: chicken pad Thai; pork fried rice (not greasy!), chicken curry, beef chop suey, egg foo young, Mongolian beef, chicken and broccoli. I could eat here everyday and never tire of the good food that is served!

I have to knock off a star for recent orders that have been heavy on the greasy batter and light on the meat. Different recipe? Different chef? I don't know, but I don't like it.

Food was not great. Tasted like old grease and the kitchen looks dirty. Mediocre at best. Look like the place is going downhill.

My two friends and I went here when we were on a road trip. Me and my friend both got the orange chicken lunch and the chicken was more breading than actually chicken. The fried rice was good. My other friend got the huan beef with won ton soup. The beef was o.k., but the won ton soup was good. We are from Chicago, so we know good Chinese when we eat it and this place was alright. Happy Eating!!!!!

This is our go to Chinese take out (and done in bc my kid loves eating in) spot. I'm super picky about Chinese take out and this is the only place in Springfield that I will go. There is nothin exceptional about the decor or the service but it's fast, delicious, consistent and satisfying. I go about twice a month and I am never disappointed.

BEWARE: HUSBAND GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THIS FOOD. If I could give this a negative star I would. My husband got food from this restaurant and he ordered: chicken fried rice, plain, crab Rangoon and general Tso chicken. The rice was very disgusting and the chicken tasted like cold cuts from the fridge. The crab Rangoon tasted old like it has been re-fried. The inside tasted old and there was barely any crab in it. The General Tso Chicken tasted old- no seasoning with undercooked vegetables. Overall worst food he's ever tasted (husband doesn't have Yelp app).

This our favorite Chinese place in Springfield and we usually try to hit it up once a week. The ingredients are very fresh and everything is made to order so don't come looking for a buffet. We saw them chopping up whole chickens one day and were convinced at how fresh everything is. I usually get the General Tso's chicken or the sesame chicken but I've tried almost everything on the menu and you can't go wrong. Free tea too...hot or iced.

China Star is ALWAYS the same! I love consistency. The place is a cafeteria style dining area (a bunch of tables crowded in one room) but the food is good. I prefer General Tso or Sesame Chicken. YUM. Caution: their English is not very good so you have to speak clearly and may need to repeat yourself.

This is a great little place. It seems like the average dive-type Chinese greasy spoon. It's not fancy but the food is good. I ordered a small Chicken Lo-mein which was plenty for a good lunch and it cost less than $5. I got in and out with my food in maybe 5 minutes or so and that was at quarter 'till 1 on a Wednesday. I don't eat tons of Chinese food, but this is among the best I've had and the lady at the counter was great. I'm going back for sure. Heck, I may not even be able to wait that long! I may go back tomorrow for lunch!

So delicious and greasy! Best vegetarian Chinese in town, and the only place that gets it right. They don't question you for 10 minutes on why you didn't order chicken. "You want tofu? You don't want meat?" Never here. Bean Curd Lo Mein and Sesame Bean Curd are my faves.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
