Let's hear it for my Russian homies! This place is great. If you don't know what Russian food is all about.... let me tell ya! It's about all sortsof sausages, pierogi (fried pastry surrounding either meat or potatoes), pilmeny ( like ravioli (kinda)filled with veal, beef, chicken) that they sell frozen and you can keep in the freezer for emergencies, vareniky (similar to pilmeny, but filled with cherries or potato and mushroom...) They also have prepared Russian salads, fancy cakes, nuts, candy, chocolate, liquor, and bottled prepared Russian goodies like zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms, etc. Yum! The one star is off because they aren't always very well organized, and their shelves get a little crazy sometimes... but compared to "Mhazer Rassia?" this place rocks. This is how we roll. Word.

for a long time i considered the ethnic restaurant experience to be the quintessential way to experience the food cultures of other ethnic groups and happily stuck to that belief for many years. having lived in the wicker park neighborhood prior to gentrification i of course was bound to stumble upon mexican groceries and noted the difference between them and the old standbys like jewel, dominicks, butera and aldi. but i slowly began to become aware of so many other choices in the wide world of groceries including the amazing fresh farms, produce world, super h, assi (all megastores) as well as smaller east indian, arabic, greek, italian and polish food stores. add russian to that list as that is the reality of eurostyle deli. now i have to warn you that being russkies and olders females, you are likely to get scowls and glares and it took a little work and quite a few visits to get any friendly recognition from even one employee. so be it. its worth it. though i have not tried everything i can attest to the armenian eggplant, peroshkies, and poppy seed bread (all made by the business) as excellent and tasty choices. the prices are reasonable, they have a decent smoked sausage selection and sandwiches start at 1.99$.they sell candy bars made with blood plasma (not bad). in the name of international relations i recommend you give this place a try. and if one does not understand the dark soul of the russian people, read some history, novels of tolstoy and doesteyevsky and try to remember that over great food, we can all get along!

We bought their pelmeny (beef-pork dumplings and chicken dumplings) tonight at the local Shop and Save store at Golf Mill. Very filling but very disappointing taste-wise. As a Russian, I know what good pelmeny should taste like, and this ain't it. The meat was so bland in taste that I have no doubt they use the most inferior parts of pork and beef meat to prepare their pelmeny. Guess we'll be going back to the home-made stuff again after all.

I grew up eating lots of amazing homemade oliveyeh salad and beet salads and other yummy delicious Russian foods at my best friend's house! It's hard to find really good authentic Russian deli items but Eurostyle Deli has it! And whenever I am craving really good salad I come here! They also have Kvass which is this really cool rye drink. Stars off for moody customer service. No smiles. No hellos and the employees take their time getting your orders. I can empathize with their long hours but at least be happy!

Absolutely delicious place and the food that they prepare right instore is amazing. Lots of Russian soups, salads, frozen foods and etc etc. Large alcohol selection. Yes, the staff isn't the friendliest, but at the same time I feel most Russian 'strangers' tend to be that way. Their younger staff is more approachable and props to customers who can speak to them in Russian.

Very good selection of European food but my favorites are the ones produced by the owners. Smoked fish is to die for. Give it a try.

Be aware of expired products! Found dried calamari with expiration date 08/2009! A lot of canned food has no manufactured date or expiration date ether. Poor customer service overall.

As a typical Russian delicatessen, half the place is occupied by alcohol. If you wanna rent Russian movie, literature, books and movies this place got that too in the back. The staff is moody. Typical Russians who are afraid of any black person that walks and will have you followed around. Kinda rude but I know where they are coming from. Lots of chocolates and ethnic drinks too! Just watch for expiration date, they tend to sell items that are close or have expired.

You haven't really had real chocolate until you've had European chocolate. It's unbeleivably sweet and tasty. And this is the palce to get it!! This little shop doesn't have too many items, but the European chocolate makes up for the lack of other items. I go here again and again to stock up on more of their sweets. And they have a great little wine section too. Wine and Chocolate....what more do you need???

"Eurostyle" in this case means Russian, and this is a great Russian deli. Low prices, especially if you buy any of the wonderful sausage selections by the whole piece. Great ready to eat salads and piroshki. Nice selection of foreign chocolate and terrific selection of vodkas at very good prices. Caucasian wine and brandy and imported package goods too. Russian video store next door. While they do not carry fancy cakes, this place is much better and cheaper than the "Three Sisters" Russian deli on Devon.
