I love their food! They know what they are doing in the kitchen and your meal is always fresh and delicious. Huge portions make it ideal for left overs. The appetizers are a great start to the meal. The crab rago, dumplings. Their won ton soup is my favorite! They actually have huge dumplings to go with the broth! The staff is great and their restaurant is always clean and tidy. I will always choose En Lai over other Chinese places in town.

I am glad I gave this place another try. Their food is actually really good. Their pot stickers or boiled dumplings are outstanding. We also really like their hot and sour soup and their lunch specials which they allow you to customize to your liking. We have also had egg foo young and chow fun noodles and both were really good. I recommend you try it for yourself! The only things I don't like here are the egg rolls, crab Rangoon, shrimp toast, and bbq ribs.

Kind of your typical Chinese take-out type of place (not that there's anything wrong with that) Got fried rice and wonton soup, nothing too spectacular, but was good and of big portions and cheap pricing. If you're waiting inside, beware of the free tub of tea as its not iced and I burned my tongue on it so just to let everybody know.

I'd like to give En Lai 3.5 Stars - it's somewhere between A-OK and I'm a fan. Decent enough Chinese food and very reasonable prices. They have an extensive menu, so anyone will be able to find something they like. Crab Rangoon was A-OK, Teriyaki Chicken on a Stick was A-OK. The General Tso's Chicken (breaded, drenched in sauce) was pretty good......not that spicy. The portion size is very generous. Sweet and Sour Shrimp - skip it. Small shrimp with way too much breading, and sauce. Egg Rolls - OK. Shrimp in Lobster Sauce - well, I thought that's what I ordered. Not sure if the girl asked 'garlic sauce', but what I got seemed to be about 10 nice shrimp floating in the bottom of a container of egg drop soup. Very strange. Overall, A-OK local Chinese food - creative menu, reasonable prices, decent food. Give it a try.

We placed a order and after a hour and a half we didn't receive it so I decided to call to find out the girl that is supposed to check the online orders didn't. Well then I was told "it will be sent out." I asked if that meant it was ready or it still had to be made. The phone was then passed on to someone else and I was told they had to make it still. Well finally 2hrs since we ordered we got our meal, just to see that the chicken was pink still. Egg rolls were good but that's all we were able to eat. Will never eat here again

My family and I always order 2 orders of the hunan chicken. When I pick up the order, in always greeted with smiling faces. The cooks even say hello sometimes! They are really nice people and know how to treat the customer right. Anyways, the food is amazing and it always will be! We always order every Saturday, and its going to stay that way forever. 5 stars all day!

We were so excited that there was an Enlai in Shorewood because the one in New Lenox is so wonderful. Well this one is on the other end of the spectrum. Food is just okay and the service is the worst I have ever seen in any restaurant. They don't even honor what is on the menu. If an item says it comes with rice, you might want to verify when you place your order or you will find yourself without any. We were also told that they do not make some of the items on the menu. After multiple messed up orders, we will never order from them again.

I've had issues when ordering delivery. either they forgot something on my order like an egg roll or the delivery guy changed my tip from 3 bucks to 13 bucks. just went online thinking if I typed it in it wouldn't get screwed up but guess what... received a confirmation my order was received, waited the 50 minutes for it to deliver only to find out (when I called after an hour) that they just received my order and it would.be another 50 minutes for delivery........really?

I don't know why people are saying this place is good. ITS NOT at all. They use MSG to begin with. It's oily and the wonton soup has no taste. Make sure your close to a bathroom after you eat this. They are not even worth the one star.

Not worth the money at all. The people that said this was awesome food apparently have no taste buds at all. Sweet and sour chicken sauce was super bland, had no peppers or pineapple in it, and the fried pieces of chicken were mostly over cooked batter with almost no chicken. The house fried rice was nasty. The pieces of chicken did not even resemble chicken and it was very skimpy with pork and shrimp. The egg rolls are an afterthought here because they only contain cabbage and nothing else. For 1. 30 each it was a huge rip off, and a disappointment. The Beef Chop Suey had very few pieces of beef in it and for $30 total I was really disappointed. They do not even give you soy sauce, mustard sauce, or sweet and sour sauce and I ordered for egg rolls. You can guarantee I will not return here again, nor will I recommend it at all. Hong Kong Cuisine on Caton Farm and County Line is much better.

Best Chinese food. Ever. Everything is very yummy and very fresh-tasting. They are a little heavy on the onions for my taste, but the onions are in big chunks, so super easy to pick out. En Lai is one of my favorite treats!

The husband and I eat here at least once a week. Good service. And all around good food, and the wait is never really long.

It's ok. Egg roll is not vey good. Had sweet and sour chicken. It was ok, but no green peppers and no pineapple. Had to pour on the sweet and sour sauce myself out of a bowl. Tea is no good. It has an almost burnt type taste. Decor is a little dated, but hey what Chinese restaurant isn't. Kid yelling in the background was not to pleasant. Probably would not eat here again.

This is literally one of the worst Chinese Restaurants we have ever been to....should have known when the one in the place was an employee playing on her phone...we thought we would try out a local place so we didn't have to drive to Crest Hill for China House...bad decision. Worst eggs rolls, hard and icky flavor....the dumplings/aka pot stickers were nausiating and basically it was total crap. Don't waste your hard-earned money!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
