Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

5 stars for the fresh tortillas, queso, corn and hot salsa. I usually order a steak burrito, black beans, rice, grilled veggies (extra), pico de gallo, corn, two scoops of hot salsa, lettuce and an extra tortilla. Or I order a steak salad with all of the above with two tortillas on the side. Instead of chips and queso, fresh tortillas and queso is tastier!

Staff was the complete opposite of helpful and didn't have knowledge of their products.

My understanding is fresh tortillas. Grand. Great. How about being more like chipotle as a knock off? The flavor just isn't there. It wasn't bad, but I think unless I'm dying for a burrito, I'll head to chipotle.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Pancheros as I drove by last year, oh the joy! I first got hooked on Panch when I lived in Iowa during my college days and I was so grateful to have one just down the road! The people are friendly and the food delicious and fresh. I can't say enough about this place.

I'm not sure which came first but this is built on the same model as Chipotle. Your food is prepared assembly line style as you select the ingredients that you want. I ordered the bowl. I really like being able to pick exactly what I wanted. The ingredients were good. The beef was okay if a little overcooked but overall pretty good. I wish they sold beer to go with it. It was good. It was fast. It was under $10.

AMAZING! So much better than Chipotle, even Qdoba, & they were my favorite place of this type until I came to Pancheros. Same kind of layout and menu design as Chipotle. Pick what you want, pick your toppings, etc. And after they've put everything you want in it, they mix it all up with a spoon thing before wrapping the burrito, which is AWESOME b/c the ingredients are evenly dispersed through the whole thing, instead of getting pockets of sour cream, and hunks of lettuce with nothing else in the bite. I don't know for sure what it is, whether they have better quality meat, or the fact that the tortillas are freshly made when you order, but I will never step foot in Chipotle or Qdoba again if one of these are around.

"OMG this is JUST like Chipotle!" UGH. Notice how many reviews the 1 star people have made. This review is for people that have never been to Pancheros, and want cheap, delicious Mexican food. Pancheros is fresh, tasty, and hard to find. The tortillas are pressed fresh from a little ball of dough. I drive out from Chicago (Lakeview) once a week to eat at Pancheros, becuase this is the only Pancheros in Chicagoland. I used to live in New York and I had to drive to New Jersey for Pancheros. Look it up. Try the chips and queso. Get a chicken quesadilla, and realize that Pancheros is a true Mexican franchise that refuses to sell out like Chipotle or Moe's. I first went to Panchero's on 8/27/2000. I was an undergrad at MSU. Yes, Panchero's predates Chipotle. Chipotle used to be owned by McDonald's. If that's what you like, more power to you. For me, Panchero's is where its at!
(5)Mike F.
I've never eaten here, but to all those with a Chipotle fetish; Pancheros was established before Chipotle, so its not a wanna be. Chipotle isn't the greatest taqueria in the world, and it wasn't the first.

Interesting place. Simple menu, built for efficiency. They press their own tortillas, and I'm thinking they are flour based... Once pressed, they had a weird shiny, smooth texture to them. It was glutenous...tough to explain, but definitely not a "traditional" type of tortilla - almost crepe-like, less doughy for a flour tortilla. The carnitas were good for pork, but not sure that I would call them carnitas...it was more of a wet pulled/chopped pork. It had a nice flavor to it, however. I am one that enjoys more authentic Mexican food, and must always have onion and cilantro on any taco - so I had to ask. Luckily, the staff was Mexican, and I know they usually have a little stash of cilantro and onion in the fridge! And they did! I was happy. I certainly knew what I was getting myself into prior to coming...but for what it was, the tacos were tasty, the meal was quick, and my older daughter enjoyed it.

Place is kinda like a Chipotle rip off ordered a bowl and get less then Chipotle and food wasn't as fresh but better than some
(3)Sarah G.
I had never heard of this place until they came to the area. They opened in the same complex of my school so it was great to able to get food for lunch without having to travel across busy Golf Rd. The first thing I got was a veggie burrito. It was OK, nothing to write home about. The 2nd visit I played it safe and got a cheese quesadilla...it was amazing! They make the tortillas fresh and press them right there, which is awesome because then you know they wont be stale. I have gotten a few chip bags through the visits that were stale and they replaced them for me, no problem. The only bad thing is that they don't have any info on the ingredients of the products they serve, not in house or on the website, so after asking numerous times I finally got a straight answer about what was in what. Overall, I think I would choose them over Chipolte.

I tried pancheros for the first time tonight extremely excited because my boyfriend has been raving about their food! I get there and I'm extremely excited because I wasn't even sure if they would still be open because it was 945pm(assuming they closed at 10) but it said 11pm! We start ordering our food and I got the burrito bowl . fajitas are my FAVORITE ingredient and I asked them if they had any and they said they were all out . I asked them if they could make some and they said no because they have to be out of the restaurant by 11pm for closing at the latest. I am EXTREMELY upset because they were only not making them for me because they were either lazy or didn't want to make a mess before closing . I have been a server for 5 years and now work in hospitality in a hotel and I've always known the industry to go above and beyond to make their guests/customers happy and do anything you can to make a guest leave happy. The fact that they had over an hour to clean up after making my fajitas (if they would have) and they still didn't boggles my mind. I mentioned it was my first time and how excited I was to the guy making my burrito bowl and for you not to have a first time guest leave happy is just asking for your business not to grow and expand. I would understand if I had came in 20-30 minutes before close and was asking and they said no but the fact that they had so much time threw me off. You have delicious food, but need employees who care about your customers happiness.

Friend of mine recommended me to sign up for the rewards card once saying you automatically get a BOGO burrito so I did. Went there today with my boyfriend and sadly the BOGO wasn't honored and ended up having to pay $20 for a burrito that kind of tasted like something you'd find in the frozen food section. Maybe it was because the cashier was concerned about going home. What she didn't know is that I understood her Spanish and got the vibe that she just wanted to get out of there. I'm not the type of customer to make a scene or ask to see the manager so I just paid what I owed. The guy that made my burrito was really cool and nice, poor guy sounded so bored with his job. I wouldn't blame him considering how dead it was. There's no atmosphere at all. Just a big boring mostly empty room. Both the steak and chicken looked like it had been sitting out for awhile so I chose the carnitas, wasn't bad till I got half way through my burrito and bit down on something hard. Instantly spit it out and was lucky enough to find a bone. Veggies for your burrito are an extra dollar as well as for some cheese sauce they have. You have to ask for lettuce there since it isn't really visible and I of course forgot to ask. The overall taste wasn't amazing just sorta bland. The only thing I liked about this place is that the tortillas were freshly made and the ingredients are mixed well so every bite tastes the same. I tried to be open minded but I'm definitely going back to chipotle.

3 stars for location and double stars for the taste. This place lacks good customer service and sense. First things first: the food is great, all 3 stars are actually devoted to the taste of the food. It's better than Chipotle! Oh yes, I said it.... I love some authenticity when I eat Mexican (inspired) foods and this one has more authentic than gourmet and I love that. So I will come back despite the service and my complaints. Great food! So here's my grudge: there were 3 customers including myself and my boyfriend and 3 workers behind the counter yet the service was slow and didn't have a good flow. There was no one in the restaurant eating so if you are the type who eats out of popularity, you might walk out. But please don't because the food is actually good. The worst part of the experience was that in the end, the server asked "cheese or vegies?", so we said "a little bit of both". Well this little bit of both cost $1 each up charge. I just wish he said, "it's extra" so I wasn't shocked when paying $9.72 for a bowl. WOW! At Chipotle, my bowl is usually $7+ and it has twice the amount of food. So there it is, I just want honesty. I have no problem paying for the up charges, I just want to be informed. I will come back, like I said, great food!

I'm not sure how this place exists at all, let alone right across Golf Rd from a Chipotle. As others have mentioned, service was incredibly lackadaisical when I stopped in, despite it being the opposite of busy. The employees moved about with little to no energy, and the person who helped me had dirty fingernails. I was floored to find that they offer only flour tortillas for their tacos. How is that even possible? I ended up ordering s burrito, which was absolutely tasteless. I will say, their bathroom was nice. The other positive thing I have to say is that they have a nifty technique where they mix the burrito toppings (a la Cold Stone Creamery) before rolling up the burrito. A good idea, but not enough to make this any more than a one star establishment. Avoid. Am I allowed to make a better recommendation? If you're in the area, find Panchos Burritos right up the street.

It is SO UNFAIR that this isn't a bigger franchise!! I would go here over Chipotle any day of the week, and I've made special trips out here multiple times. The homemade tortillas, the queso, and then they mix everything together.. Awesome! They're very generous with portions, and their chips&queso is amazing.

A horrible experience. Pancheros is one of the wanna-be Chipotle fast food restaurants. My wife wanted to try the one that opened a while ago in Schaumburg so we did. We went for an early dinner before running some errands. She had the burrito bowl and I had a burrito. Quickly, the beef was tough and tasteless. The tortilla was fine. The vegetables were blah,. The hot tomatillo salsa was mild at best. There was one other person in the restaurant and the service was slow. When I had to go to the counter to ask them for a box to take what was left over, I couldn't find anyone to help - they were all back in the kitchen and talking so loudly they couldn't hear me asking for assistance. Too bad, but there are plenty of other places to eat in and around Schaumburg.
(1)Dij K.
This location is right next to my school and i absolutely love it! The food is great especially their queso! 5 stars!!
(5)Nick M.
Burritos are what you need to get. From the Veggie to the chicken. They are awesome.. Get the fajita veggies.
(3)S K.
Very friendly staff. Excellent experience. Food was all fresh with excellent guacamole. To my surprise they have a huge can of melted pepper jack cheese you can request to place inside your burrito. Overall, excellent food, nice staff, very clean, large seating area (hard as a rock seats) easy to find in a perfect location!
(5)Frank A.
This place puts Chipolte to shame in my opinion. They make their own tortillas for each order, so they are always hot and soft. I have only had steak, and I love it. They meat is good quality and consistent. The Queso is awesome here. Wish there was one of these in Chicago, because I would love it.
(5)Sarah S.
My coworkers and I went today for lunch as we love trying new places in the area. We had heard Pancheros was good and they fresh press their tortillas. The fresh pressing is kind of their claim to fame. I had the chicken quesadillas and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too spicy for my weak senses. Another coworker wasn't asked what meat he wanted and ended up with a veggie dish, even though everyone else was asked. While we were in line a manager told one worker to smile & talk more - kinda awk! But understandably, they are still working out some of the kinks in service. The setup and options are very similar to Chitpotle but I honestly find Chitpotle a tad bit tastier. Chitpotle doesn't have a quesadilla option so I decided to go with that at Pancheros. My quesadillas were $7.29 - I didn't get a drink or anything else. Drinks are free refills though! The inside of Pancheros is super colorful and lively, bright decor all around. A downfall is that the biggest booth/table is set for 4 people. No es bueno cuando tengo ocho personas en mi 'lunch crew'. :) Overall though, good new option in Schaumburg however I see some stiff competition from Chitpotle right across the street!
(4)Hay B.
Awesome!!! I thought these only existed in Iowa, I was so happy to find this location. The fresh tortillas make a HUGE difference and the queso dip is amazing. This chain puts Chipotle to Shame, don't let anyone tell you differently! You go Pancheros.
(5)Greg C.
My girlfriend and I decided to stop by here for a quick dinner before heading into downtown Chicago. We wanted something quickly and this was perfect. The place reminded me of Qdoba more than Chipotle. If you like queso you will like this place. We had a chicken and a steak burrito bowl and both were awesome. The reason I give the restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is the guacamole. While it was not the worst I've had, I personally would not get it again. It lacked any spicy kick and did not have much flavor.
(4)Zasflow M.
$7.05 for a baby burrito. Not to mention all the good stuff is extra. Why pay $11 for a decent burrito, when i can go across the street and spend $8 for a FAT burrito with guacamole. This burrito lacks taste, but i will give credit for the fresh tortilla. I was here for 30 min and only saw 1 customer, no wonder why the ingredients were lacking freshness. Notes: give MORE FOOD and dont charge extra for everything! My advice to chipotle
(1)Julie Y.
I only discovered this place because I go to school right next to it. I feel like its kind of in a hidden area. The staff is great and the tortillas are made fresh right when you order they also mix everything in the burrito which is nice. If you've never tried this place its a must!
(4)Gary O.
We've frequented Pancheros a few times now. We have found the staff to be friendly and the quality of the food to be exceptional. The flour tortillas are prepared fresh when you place your and are very good. We've tried both the chicken and steak and both are tender and flavorful. The sauces and guacamole are very fresh. One recommendation would be to offer corn tortillas freshly made as well.
(4)Charlie G.
I recently discovered Pancheros. I am a big fan and highly recommend adding the queso cheese sauce to burritos. Pancheros is similar to Chipotle in the way food is prepared and priced but there are some unique ingredients, the burrito shells themselves are MUCH better because they are fresh-cooked in front of you.
(5)Jess F.
Love Love Love this place!! Better quality than Chipotle and they mix everything together for you so you don't have one glob of this in one spot and one glob of something else in another spot. The customer service is top notch and you must try the hot sauces that are by the pop machine! Wish there was more locations!!
(5)Jeff O.
Really people? It's the exact same as chipotle...corn salsa, fresh pressed tortillas, Pico, three more traditional salsas, guacamole, the list goes on. There were also a few extra that chipotle doesn't have. I dined at noon on a Thursday. Service and cleanliness was to be expected. When I used washroom before lunch, paper towel dispenser was empty. When I washed hands after lunch, it was full. We went to chipotle first, line was out the door, then went to pancheros, were served much faster, and had the exact same burrito.
(3)Phil S.
Pancheros can be summed up as direct Chipotle competition, especially since there is a Chipotle just down the street from this Pancheros location. The menu is pretty much the same: burrtios, bowls, salads, tacos, etc. Pick your style then select your meat and toppings but there are a few key differences that are worth noting. The tortillas are made fresh here. They put a lump of fresh dough in a huge tortilla press, squeeze the bajeezus out of it and out comes a frighteningly perfect flour tortilla for your burrito. The result is a softer, chewier tortilla that actually sticks together when it's wrapped up. Pancheros only has one choice for rice whereas Chipotle has white or brown. Toppings and salsas styles are very similar except Pancheros offers fresh diced jalapenos as well! Nothing like a little extra fresh kick to make a big difference to any dish. They mix the insides of the burrito up with a spatula before they wrap it up! That way you get even distribution resulting in consistent flavor throughout the entire burrito! This is probably my favorite feature because that is what I do when I make burritos at home. Two things I didn't really like was the steak salad my wife ordered was tiny. Lettuce is cheap and a half handful more makes a huge difference in a salad so that tiny tray they use for salads is pathetic. We won't be ordering that again. Also their guacamole kinda sucks. It just doesn't seem fresh and the consistency is extra greasy. Paired with generic blue corn tortilla chips that seem like they were transferred to paper bags from large plastic bags without concern about half the chips being broken really kinda made my chips and guac suck so I won't be ordering that expensive side from them either. All in all a decent alternative to Chipotle if all you want is a better burrito. We didn't try a bowl yet but after seeing that pathetic salad, I don't think I'm going to bother trying the bowl. By the way, I don't think they serve alcohol here like Chipotle does so if you like to go to chain fast food restaurants to drink beer and margaritas, then you'll have to stick with Chipotle.
(3)Lisa B.
I love Pancheros. I went to college where the original location is (University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA) and this is the one food I get massive cravings for while now living in Chicago. I'm so glad I can now get my fix in Schaumburg!!!(P.S. - I was devastated when the Westchester location closed) I prefer Pancheros over Chipotle - Panchero's was founded first and I spent 4 years of college eating burritos, quesadillas, and tacos at least twice a week! I love their fresh pressed and griddled tortillas. Its so unique and the fresh taste of a homemade tortilla really sets them apart from Chipotle/Qdoba. Their meats are freshly grilled with great marinades. I love their pico de gallo. I love that they have jalapenos that you can add inside your burrito. PS. They do mix all the ingredients you select for your burrito together prior to wrapping it up - I prefer my ingredients to NOT be mixed, and they always happily oblige me! If you're nearby, give Pancheros a try!
(4)Andrew L.
Pancheros is a nice addition to the fast Mexican burrito industry. It lies somewhere in the Chipolte/Qdoba area of the spectrum. Unique to Pancheros, your tortilla is made to order, rather than steaming an already made one. It also has quesadillas on the menu. Also, they made sure to stir the ingredients before wrapping the tortilla shut. That was pretty nice as I never like taking a big bite into my burrito and only finding rice or beans! I had a chicken burrito. It was good, but the meat lacked the strong spicy, seasoning that I enjoy with such meat. My friend also ordered a burrito. Neither of us were entirely sold, but we will definitely give it another go.
(4)Shelly M.
I'll start with the positives, the staff was very friendly and nice. I loved how the tortilla was made fresh on the spot. They also do give a decent portion of food. I tried the burrito bowl which was okay. I wasn't a huge fan of the rice. The food wasn't hot.. But we did arrive at 7:30 p.m. I was unaware that the queso was an extra charge. My boyfriend ordered a burrito which he loved. If I do go back I will be trying the burrito and sticking to Chipotle's burrito bowls.
(3)Katie S.
I went here last night for the 1st time and I was super excited. I was bummed when I walked in because it was set up like Chipotle and I dont like that place. But I actually loved it. I got the steak burrito and was so pumped that they mix everything together. The burrito was large and I just kept talking about how good it was . It doesn't have a lot of spices but that is why I like it, spicy food doesn't sit well with me.
(5)Michael G.
This is the 2nd time I have been to Pancheros since it opened. The 2nd visit proved to be like the first. I got the steak burrito and loaded it up with all of my favorites from black beans, cheese, hot salsa, guacamole and diced jalapenos. I thought that overall the burrito was very fresh and tasty. Combine it with a drink and you are at almost $10... it was good, but for the price, I can eat elsewhere for as good and cheaper.... Overall a good experience. I just wish that the price was lower..
(4)Ronak M.
Wow! I am not the one to write how great a restaurant is every time I go out, but occasionally when I experience something different, I feel the need to share. Have been to Pancheros a couple of times and they never seem to disappoint. Their queso is delicious and the tortillas fantastic, overall the quality is there and you can taste it in every fresh bite!
(5)Jack T.
I don't know why I keep torturing myself by coming here every few weeks, that it is within walking distance of my office is not a good excuse. I don't really think of the tortilla as a selling point for a restaurant, but I am starting to see they may have very few other claims to fame. The steak just isn't that good, it tastes very bland, it just seems like a cheaper cut of steak. The chicken is a little better, but certainly nothing to write mom home about. What really irritates me is that they are SKIMPY SKIMPY SKIMPY. I've been served the last few times by the tall tatted up black guy (I believe he is the manager), who though very pleasant, must be under orders to act very cheap. Today I ordered tacos, and for the cheese he gave me one small scoop to cover both tacos, it looked like a sprinkling. When I asked for a little more, he wanted to upcharge me, I said no thanks, second time that exact situation has played out. The queso is pretty good, but they are usually very SKIMPY with the chips, filling up perhaps a quarter of the bag, no excuses there, chips are cheap. More than once the chips have tasted a bit stale, which would seem difficult, given that I assume they are made fresh daily. Maybe not?
(1)Jamie C.
I love this place! The tortillas are great, but I don't see reason for the HUGE hype the company gives them... The steak seasoning is great. LOVE the corn salsa [I think it's better than Chipotle's]. I typically don't feel full right when I finish my burrito/burrito bowl, but it kicks in later, for sure. Their queso is AWESOME. I don't get their guac because the queso is just so good. I wish the chips were less salty :( but seriously, the queso is fantastic. Super convenient that they stir the burrito ingredients, too! Even distribution of taste :) Queso, steak seasoning, corn salsa, and the "Bob" make this place my favorite burrito joint. If you don't like your first attempt, I say try at least 2 or 3 different items [bowl, salad, burrito, tacos, quesadillas and different toppings - with/without guac, queso, different sauces, etc] before you've fully judged the quality.
(5)Sarah G.
I wish zero was an option. This food was awful. The quality was horrible and not worth it. I will never go back. Do not waste your money!! Not even comparable to Chipotle.
(1)KiKi I.
I went here for lunch last week and was surprised when I walked in to see its a setup like Chipotle. I selected a burrito bowl with my different options. My coworker and I sat down and didn't say much until I spoke up and asked her thoughts. She said it was bland and didn't give that punch of freshness or flavor you get at Chipotle. I was relieved to hear she felt the same as me, I thought it might be missing something. We actually walked out just as hungry as when we arrived. Which for a similar price as Chipotle it wasn't half as filling. We ended up stopping for ice cream on our way back to work. I really wanted another quick Mexican option while at work but I feel I could make this better for less, which isn't saying much.
(1)T L.
I had the veggie bowl. The salsas were good and the guacamole was great. The rest was just ok. The rice was mushy and the veggies should have been cut smaller and grilled more- huge green peppers and onions were still crunchy- disappointing. Very similar to Chipotle, but not as much flavor.
(2)Jessica W.
Meh. Set up like a Chipotle, but not even close in food execution. I'm not sure if the staff had been properly trained the week we went in, but the person behind the counter couldn't answer some simple questions about the menu. I think he didn't want to say he didn't know, but clearly he didn't know. The food was edible, but I kind of wish I had gone to Chipotle. It was expensive for the overall mediocre to poor experience. Maybe they'll get better, but I'll stick to Chipotle or even better yet, one of the many authentic Mexican places in the nearby area.
(2)Simir S.
I liked it good concept excellent fresh tortilla concept! They have a good salsa, tasty protein selections. I think this place will do well
(4)Ashwin B.
Tried the chicken burrito and soft tacos, they make the tortilla fresh right before your eyes. The ingredients are mixed together at the end, and it makes a great difference on each bite. I would definitely recommend these guys over Chipotle and Qdoba.
(5)Benjamin B.
I am so thrilled to have found a Pancheros here in Chicago after having been forced to settle on Chipotle and Qdoba. Fresh tortillas, delicious salsa, and just the right amount of seasoning makes this place better than any other burrito. Plus it's healthier too!
(5)Susan S.
Unfriendly staff and for a new place that's not good. I don't eat tortillas so I don't care if they are fresh. Food was only luke warm at best. Vegetables over cooked and they skimped on everything and everything else was an up charge. Nothing tasted fresh. Sorry your competitors still have my business.
(1)Jennifer F.
Chipotle has absolutely nothing to worry about. Fresh tortillas don't mean much with overlooked, watery rice. We won't be back.
(1)William B.
If you've been to a Chipotle, then you know what to expect here- same deal, almost exactly. I figured I'd give it a try as it may have been a local-owned small business, but alas, it is a franchise company. I hate to do direct comparisons to other restaurants, but this place kinda begs for it. There are some differences between Pancheros & Chipotle. The space has a more homey feel, not the industrial feel of the other. Pancheros fresh presses their tortillas to order. Big advantage in my opinion (except I really couldnt taste the diff). I have been do places that make their own tortillas, and they should stand out more. Different spices on the pork carnitas. I liked it. Maybe closer to an actual mexican food flavor than the other place. And they didnt skimp on loading up the meat in the burrito. I like Chipotle because they appear to promote organic, and other similar practices, non-rbgh sour cream, etc. Yea, I know, definitely a marketing strategy, but it works on me. I'll give Pancheros another try. It's close to work.
(4)Anthony G.
Went there with my wife last night because they had sent us a coupon for a free burrito. Went there with moderate expectations because we enjoy Chipotle so much. Walked in and were greeted by a couple of guys behind the counter. Pretty much set up just like Chipotle with a couple of nice differences. First off, the tortilla is freshly made right in front of you, which was a nice touch, although I didn't notice much of a difference in taste. Also, they give you the option of putting just one type of meat in your burrito or mixing two different types of meat. Here was my order: Steak and chicken burrito with rice, black beans, shredded cheese, pico, hot sauce and diced, fresh jalapenos. Took my first bite and thought to myself that there was hardly any flavor, despite the hot sauce, pico and "marinated" meats. My wife, who ordered a burrito bowl, thought the same thing. Yea, the burrito filled me up, but I was very disappointed in the lack of flavor, and I definitely would not back again. Stick with Chipotle!
