Came for restaurant week....only 1 of the 3 items were good....I had the not so lobster bisque..it was basically gravy with a dumpling with lobster meat with Granny Smith apples floating around. This was followed with a really great entree. The scallops were delish. The desert was horrible and this comes from a girl that likes any dessert. The butterscotch was too thick and topped with foam. But to top it off they put a big bowl of cotton candy in the middle of the table...how does cotton candy go with fine dining?

Our experience last night at Grillhouse was exceptional! Our server knew every nuance of the menu, as well as the wine list and pairings. We started our night with a table full of appetizers: the Maple Bacon w/ thinly sliced green apples, the Margherita Pizza, the Olives and Marcona Almonds, the Cheese Board and the Meat Board, whew! There was a table full of delicious bites. My husband loved the Maple Bacon and my favorite was the cheese board. The selection of cheeses paired with the preserves/honey/etc. was so satisfying! Now onto the mains! My entree was a special, which I was told will be placed on the Spring Menu, it was a phenomenally fresh piece of pan-seared halibut with a Spring asparagus risotto. I would go back just for that dish alone. My husband was stuffed by this point so he opted for the filet. Our friends suggested that he should order the dry-aged beef instead but he didn't listen. When he tasted their steaks compared to his, he realized that he should have listened! I had a small bite of the New York strip and it was tender and delicious. Another small bite of the Mushroom Potato Hash was amazing...different types of mushrooms, small pieces of potato, and fresh herbs, perfectly seasoned. Finally, we ordered several desserts. The cheesecake lollipops were excellent, just a perfect bite of deliciousness. Our table also had the Butterscotch Panna Cotta, Warm Apple Tart, and the Cocoanut Cake which everyone seemed to love. Overall, this was an excellent night out in a well-appointed organic farm to table restaurant. We would definitely make the drive back to Schaumburg to Grillhouse again!

Yes, the food was exceptional as well as the service very attentive. Frank took very good care of us as well provided excellent advice. Had the chicken liver jar with the port wine jelly which was superb. Followed on with the beet salad which shared with hubby. The I had the beef short ribs which was rich with flavor and fork tender. Husband had the branszino which was excellently cooked as well. For dessert went withe bananas Charlotte. All I can say is Nummy.

My expectations were not met at David Burke!! It's over priced for what they offer!! Steak was dry and hard, scallops were tasteless!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

FINALLY ! A good restaurant in Schaumburg besides Mortons ( which we love). The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. Had a great table in the bar so we could watch the Blackhawks game AND have a great meal, not bar food. Very nice bar complete with a fireplace and the best Manhattan I've ever had. Food is great. We had the pork chop, burger, and the short rib cavatelli ( to die for). All were delicious. Great wine list to boot. Looking forward to going back. Welcome to the foodie starved neighborhood David Burke!

Yikes ii gave it one star for customer service. Waitress couldn't be nicer, but if the food is awful, who would go back? The manager ended up comping the entire dinner for us because it was really bad news. Can say he was very accepting.....but it doesn't make up for the ruined birthday celebration...here I go...... Cocktails - mojitos were flat and awful. Sent back, different kind of replacements weren't much better. Matter of fact the diet Pepsi wasn't even good. Lobster bisque? I Love lobster bisque. This was no bisque, it was runny brown brothy salty stuff with some unidentifiable things floating in it, served too cold and was sent back to be warmed up. Bread and butter...we waited forever for out first serving because we were told it was being baked. The butter served with it was maybe a teaspoon size for the three of us to share. Come on....this is supposed to be farm to table? Where was the butter. Every time, and I mean we asked for a larger portion every time we asked, we got this sliver presented on a small salt block. Sweet butter on a salt block. Ok ok....I don't quite get it but, damn it, give the customer enough to enjoy on a breadstick. Crazy Ordered the duck breast. Dried out, and I ordered it med rare as recommended. Not good. Came with a concoction of corn, spatzel and two pieces of something advertised as squash, butternut, I think. Maybe 1/4 inch thick and 3 inches long? Two of these pathetic strips were aligned on top of this stuff . Not as I thought advertised. Not good at all Friend had scallops..to come with Brussels sprouts. She got two..Leaves of a Brussels sprout and something else. She nixed on the brusselsprots on the side, since they were advertised to be included with her dinner..I think she said the scallops were ok..but the side was crazy. So we orders the three extra sides..get to that in a minute. Other friend had the 51 dollar ribeye steak. Not worth the price, very small for that crazy price. He said it was tough. But not at all worthy of the Himalayan salt room story. Now the sides come ...cold creamed spinach, cold Mac and cheese and some cold mushroom and potato thing. Sent that back to be warmed. Again the spinach was ice cold again, potato thing cold and Mac and cheese was 1/2 warm 1/2 cold.........at this point we were pissed and pretty much finished withe entrees. Dint want these sides by this time. TIME FOR A TALK TO THE MGR. He was quite understanding and as I said, the meals and veggies were all comped. I don't go to a restaurant to see what I can get free.....I WANT A DECENT MEAL. If my husband were alive and with us, he would have insisted we pay the entire bill, for he did not want to feel obligated to come back and try it again. I understand, but I, in no way, want to go back, or feel obligated, and won't go back. Sorry, you need to make some major improvements or....well ....entourage didn't last long either..........

I had mixed reviews of this place. Our reservation was for 7 on a Friday night and we were sat promptly. Cocktails ad wine were really good, the bacon appetizer was AMAZING!! We ordered 2!! Also had the French Onion soup which was really good. The table split 3 sides, Mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts and bacon and also puréed potatoes which is basically mashed potatoes. My favorite was the Brussel sprouts but all were very good. Now my disappointment was with the steak. Now I have been to David Burkes Primehouse in the city and was blown away by the 42day aged Ribeye. But this 30 day aged KC Ribeye wasn't living up to David Burke quality. I would return but would try another dish.

Was excited about the opening of this restaurant in Schaumburg. came here first time in Nov, the food was disappointing. Came again couple days ago to give it another try. Unfortunately it is the last time here. It wasn't busy, but the service was slow. The food was so so - had whole Branzino, was expecting whole fish, but only two pieces of filet. No problem, but it was quite fishy! Quite surprised to get such quality. The grilled octopus was slight over cooked. Two words: very disappointing.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant during "Restaurant Week". Exremely disappointing. Waiter had no idea what "RW" meant on the menu. We were suppose to get a 3 course meal for $44. The selections for the RW menu were limited and if you ordered the RW items individually you'd pay less than $44. What a rip-off. The accountant who approved the menu was a genius. Draw people in with a promotion and have them pay more. Regarding the food, it was marginal at best. Had the Lobster Bisque soup with a Filet and there was nothing exceptional about it. Presentation was nothing more than a slab of beef on a plate with a side. Overall, it was an overpriced experience. Service was good but it wasn't crowded which is unusual for a Friday evening in the suburbs.

Not impressed at all!! We went there for Restaurant Week... The waiter had zero clue as how the program was running and the manager stopped by and was brusk! The food was very average ...at best!!

I was so excited to hear that David Burke was opening a restaurant in the old Entourage location. It's such a beautiful restaurant inside and it was very festive for the season decorated with little pumpkins all around the booths and in the plants. Our Server Deanna was attentive and engaging without hovering too much, she refilled drinks immediately and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our food at the right moments. My husband and I ordered the dry aged filet and the bone-in ribeye which were both delicious and cooked to perfection and the sides of Mac and Cheese and Mushroom and Potato Hash were a great accompaniment! For desert we had the Warm Apple Tart and the Chocolate Cake and both of them had just the right amount of sweetness without being too rich to finish off our wonderful meal. Price point is what you'd expect at an upscale steakhouse, so be prepared to spend a decent amount of money. But all in all I was very happy with our meal and will definitely be back when we want to have a special night out.

I went here tonight with my family. Originally we were headed to a different restaurant in the area, saw this, and said why not. This place was amazing! From the bread to the wine to the brandy infused milk for dessert. We started out with the tuna tartar and the octopus. Both were outstanding. The octopus basically melted in your mouth. The lobster bisque was fantastic. And for dinner I had the 14 ounce New York strip steak which was cooked to perfection. My family had the 10 ounce filets. Also outstanding. For dessert we had the cookies and milk and crème brûlée. Overall we had a great time. The way they season the meats with the Himalayan rock salt definitely adds to the flavor and you can tell. I would 100 percent recommend this restaurant to friends and family!! Keep up the good work, Grillhouse! You won my business. I'll for sure be back!

If We had the option to give this place zero stars,We would.. 1. Reservations for 2 for us were confirmed a few days ago..when my husband and I arrived they didn't have a table ready for us..isn't that what reservations are for?? The host was very rude about it & she acted like as if we were inconveniencing her!! when it was their mistake! 2. The ambiance was way too casual for an expensive meal.. We went there for a quality experience and this place did NOT deliver..AT ALL. Felt like we were in an over priced TGIFs..The drinks were served WARM,and I would've been a lot happier at TGIFs!! The bar noise interfered with our meal too! We couldn't even hear our conversations! Not happy at all. 3. The waitress was ignoring me.. She was more interested in my husband. 4. The waitress/staff attendants seemed under aged and were very unprofessional. Also, very inexperienced by the way they handled our situation. 5.Our FOOD was a huge disappointment.. 2 steaks that were over cooked and tasteless. 6. I have to say..the best part of this place, was LEAVING.. We will never go back there again. 7. If you want quality food and a quality experience..Find a restaurant downtown.

We went there for Mothers Day. the only good thing was the steak,. The waitress was really bad, took our whole order at the same time it was about 20 minutes before we got a drink even gave us the wrong check. I wrote to the Grillhouse that day and left my email and number, telling them about my horrible experience and got no response so we will never eat there again, it is not worth the money.

Reservations at 7:00 and still waiting for dinner, cannot comment on food because I am still waiting! Do not come here! Food came 2 1/2 hours later, and it came raw. Heading to another restaurant.

Had dinner with four friends from work. Everyone had an absolutely excellent salad. The steaks and salmon were superb. Service was excellent. The desserts are a bit disappointing. I recommend if you're looking for an excellent dinner and have a bit of coin.

I really wanted to love Grillhouse. I think the concept of small menu, farmhouse to table in a space large enough to serve hundreds at a time in part of the problem with trying to love this restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a feeling of hipster farmhouse that is very comfortable and inviting. The servers were attentive, informed and friendly without interfering with our own dinner conversation. However, the menu is designed as if I am in a small restaurant with a caring chef working on his craft, but I am obviously in a large space designed for the masses paying top dollar. First came out a bread course, and the bread was warm with a nice crisp crust, but nothing special about its taste and the butter was hard, cold, straight from the fridge. It was served with some small julienne pickled peppers and onions, that didn't really fit on the bread, didn't have the type of juice (like an olive oil would) to dip my bread in, so didn't really...go... with the bread. A signature tapenade, distinct flavored oil, or a more interesting bread would have given a better first impression (and of course for heaven's sake, take the butter to close to room temperature prior to serving!). We had the ahi tuna with pickled watermelon appetizer. The tuna was excellent, the watermelon interesting and playful as expected, but the greens (I think seaweed? don't remember) were overpowering in volume and brought down the dish. Loved my Pimm's cup from the bar, ginger and cucumber tastes with minimal sweetness was exactly what I wanted. Main course I had the 30 day aged strip steak. It was perfectly done, but Chicago is full of excellent steak restaurants and so again there was nothing to set this apart. Veggies on the side were mediocre. The steak sauce was unnecessary and it was heavily acidic, which did not go with the steak that was covered with the signature Himalayan salt and therefore already salty, making all that acid unnecessary. Dessert was again unbalanced. We had the chocolate whiskey cake, which had a delicious, heavy chocolate taste that overpowered the malt flavored cream (I could see it but not taste it at all!) and a sauce underneath (caramel?? don't remember..) that again could not be tasted with such a large, heavy cake. I think given the large space a larger menu with more choices, more playfulness throughout the courses, and concentrating more on balance rather than volume would greatly improve. I will wait a long while to go back, and only if I see menu changes.

The steaks here are amazing. I had a 12 day aged 10 oz steak and it was easily the best steak I've ever had. It will cost you $42, so this is not a cheap place. They also charge $7 for a bottle of Fiji water, which is crazy. The ambiance is great and very welcoming. The only real issue with my food was my french onion soup. There was hardly any soup as it was mostly absorbed into the bread/crouton. I couldn't eat it. But, I would definitely go back for a special occasion! Just wouldn't get the soup :)

Food was good although a little salty. Service good. Music TERRIBLE. WTF? 70's rock that doesn't match the atmosphere at all. I wanted to pull my hair out. I honestly wouldn't come back just because of the annoying music.

Our dining experience at Grillhouse was a good one. We met a couple of friends for dinner and drinks and were not disappointed. We had the grilled octopus and the maple bacon for starters. Both were very good. The octopus was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. It was served with chickpeas and capers. My husband and I shared the NY strip steak and ordered 3 sides. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with a tasty dipping sauce. Everyone at the table thought that the potatoe puree was awesome. I found that the creamed spinach and brussel sprouts lacked a bit of seasoning which is why I am giving only 3 stars. For dessert we had the coconut cake and chocolate state of mind - both good choices to end our dinner. The coconut cake was moist and flavorful. The restaurant and it's decor is beautiful. The bar area is a good size and welcoming. The place was not that crowded for a Friday night - I am hoping because it is off the beating path and many do not realize that David Burke has come to Chicago via Schaumburg. I reccomend you visit this establishment - you will be very happy with your dining experience even if it is a bit pricey.

Sliders were very overcooked and they forgot the cheese. Go to Pinstripes if you want a slider --- they are great. The meat was also of poor quality. Service was slow although the server was pleasant. So disappointed --- will think twice about the chefs I watch on Top Chef from now on!

Went last night for my husband's birthday with another couple. The service was outstanding (and we have high expectations after living in San Francisco for 3 years). Started w cocktails and the angry calamari, which was tender and delicious. Then bread cane to the table and we ordered our entrees. Three of us got the bone-in filet special. It was very good but completely raw at the bone (ordered it medium). My hubby got the duck, which was very good. Shared a delicious, but sweet, bottle of cabrernet and three sides. The fries were awesome, butternut squash was good, and creamed spinach tasty but very salty. They brought my husband a very nice dessert with Happy Birthday on a piece of chocolate (it was a rich chocolate tart). We ordered creme brulee (good but lighter than most), the pear financier (the salted caramel ice cream was the best part) and ended up getting an apple tart on the house because the tart came out slowly. Overall a great meal.

I give it 6 months...well maybe more if the other location is picking up the tab. We went there for lunch, picked out the burger and were off. The burger and fries come on a cutting board, which was odd, but hoity toity, so ok. The problem is that when you cut into the burger. The juices, etc run off the board and onto the table or your hand whatever it hits first. What's wrong with a plate? Just a gold old fashioned concave plate that will hold all the juices where they should be? Overkill and kind of dopey. I get that it's a new place, but they have been open for a few weeks and us and another couple were the only ones in the place. When we halfway finished our mediocre burger, we asked for the check. Then 20 or so minutes later, we got it. Blamed it on some printing issue, ok. Got it. There are simply too many other quality places within walking distance for this place to survive. Ever hear of wildfire? Ten times the experience and quality for the same dollars. Take my word for it, this place needs a lot before they are ready to compete in Schaumburg.

We had dinner at Grillhouse last night and we were blown away by the food. There were 4 in our party and we had 4 appetizers and 4 different entrees. Everything was superb! We started with the BBQ maple bacon which is so delicious with the perfect amount of smoky and sweet flavors. We also had the grilled octopus which was tender and so flavorful. The angry calamari was tender and perfectly seasoned but should have been a bit crispier on the outside, but it didn't ruin the dish. The chicken liver jar had a smooth texture and mild flavor that even a first timer would enjoy and the port wine jelly and pistachios were a great addition. I don't want to overlook the complimentary fresh baked mini baguettes that are served hot from the oven with a jar of fresh giardineira on the side. They will bring you all you want, but be careful to save room for all the other delicious things to try! On to the entrees...We had the grilled salmon, which was fresh and nicely seared on the outside, but tender and moist on the inside. The short ribs with their house made cavatelli pasta was rich and incredible, served with an addictive truffle mousse. The true highlights of the evening though were the 18 oz. bone-in ribeye and the 18 oz. bone-in Kansas City strip steak. Both were dry aged on the premises and seasoned and cooked to perfection. They both came out cooked as ordered with an incredible crust on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The steaks were at least an inch and a half thick and huge! Sadly, we did not have room to try any of the scrumptious sounding desserts (next time!) We did however, receive a complimentary cotton candy that provided a fun, sweet finish to our meal. Our server was knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. The meal was well paced and the table was always properly bussed. Not wanting our fun evening to end, we headed to their large, comfortable bar for an after dinner drink. Our designated driver opted for coffee and the bartender informed him that they had completed the coffee service in the dining room a while ago and that he would brew him a fresh pot, which was very much appreciated. All in all, a great meal in a really beautiful restaurant. You really should give this place a try!

Came here today for lunch with some colleagues. We'd been to the previous restaurant in the space (Entourage) and it's still gorgeous on the inside. No trouble with ambiance. Our server was pleasant, as were all the staff we encountered. No problems there, either. I am a fan of all food, fancy to cheap, and can honestly say I expected a lot from Grillhouse being a David Burke restaurant. But, the food was ordinary. Good, but not awe inspiring especially for the price. We did notice two sandwiches did not come out as listed on the menu, and were missing items described in the menu. The server just said, "that's how we're serving it today." To her credit she did fix the sandwiches promptly, and the manager was super nice about it and I believe gave a discount on the final check - again, no issues with the staff. Other notes, I was a little surprised at the varying portion sizes as well. I got a burger that was huge, the short rib entree looked rather large, but the scallop entree came with only three meager scallops! At comparative restaurants in the Schaumburg area I've seen 6-8 served for the lunch portion, hence my surprise. Overall, I'd recommend it for cocktails and appetizers or for a first date/"let's meet for drinks" kind of place.

Visited on Saturday night for the first time with college friends and the general consensus was average at best. Our waiter was very friendly but had to be reminded a few times of items we needed refilled. We were seated at 7:30 and they were already out of the special for the day and when an item was ordered off the menu, the waiter came back in about ten minutes and stated they were out of that item also. Out of two main items on a Saturday night? The items that were ordered were nothing special. I ordered the duck breast and it was chewy and the portion small. My wife ordered the scallops and three were served for a price of $28. On the whole, very average food at high prices. If you want to try a new restaurant in Schaumburg, I would recommend Zeal which is close by.

Thank goodness I had great company with when I chose to celebrate my birthday here. Service was nonexistent from the start, really. Arrived 15 minutes before my reservation and I thought the place was closed. Luckily I saw the bar tender pop up from the bar. Once at the table the one server had difficulty taken care of all 4 tables in the entire restaurant. We didn't know there was a 3 course prefix menu but when it said to pick two items with no other explanation and having waited 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us we asked the bus staff to send a server over. It went down hill from there. While pleasant she chose to explain nothing. The soups were good but the rest of the food was poor. The only thing that made the calamari angry as described was the amount of salt is was drowned in. The BLT was just a sandwich but the half to go was thrown out by the bus staff even though it's the only thing we asked to have wrapped. The breakfast skillet had no flavor and the breakfast pizza was flat but on taste. A two hour lunch because of 20 minutes between seating, greeting and each course. Too bad because it's such a beautiful restaurant. Hate to say if this is their best, it may be closed up again.

I was skeptical about coming here based on reading yelp reviews, but I was glad I did. My husband and I and a another couple had Sunday night reservations at 6pm. We were seated right away (after we stopped at the bar and had one of their signature cocktails) and the service was great from beginning to end. The only thing I agree with past reviewers is that it is pricey for what you get and the menu selection is rather small, although they have something for everyone. I started with the grilled octupus which melted in my mouth, but it was $14 for 4 little pieces. Not sure if i would get it again b/c of that. I had the Branzino fish which was wonderful. My husband had the ceasar salad that he wasn't impressed with and the beef short rib that was good, but portion a little small. Our friends had the Onion soup and lobster bisque as starters and loved them both and she had the filet and he had the NY strip as entrees and also loved them both. Definitely did not get the cheesecake pops after reading past reviews, so opted for the Schaumburg Sundae and the Chocolate Whiskey cake and both were just average. We all said we would come back, but nothing I would run back too solely based on priced and menu options.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. had 745 reservations it's now 830 and I'm still waiting. We're sitting in the bar area where we can't get any service or any drinks I went to the manager asking for some help he said he would take care of it and nobody ever came over to take our party of 6 drink orders while we waited. My recommendation for the Grill House is don't waste your time the service is absolutely horrible. The food was good and our waitress Erica was very friendly and knowledgeable, however the debacle of waiting so long, the lack of attention to get served has weighed that we will not return.

I stayed in the cheap seats with this one-had a bacon burger and the lobster bisque soup. Price puts this somewhere between Capital Grill and Weber Grilll. Overall impression: It was like a Bob Evans, but a lot more expensive-right down to the Oberweis-esque farmer artwork and the plaid shirts that the servers were wearing. Burger was good, but not great-with prodding the staff was able to bring it from downright dangerous to OK. Soup was a disappointment-brought out as two lumps of lobster and then a carafe of bisque-as to say "look, real lobster!" as these places now do, but what I ended up with was two lumps of lobster in bisque and it tasted disjointed. I ordered a medium burger, and it was so raw that the meat was not even warm in the center. I brought it to the servers attention and she expressed surprise, but for a burger to be so undercooked it was dangerous I would have expected a visit from the manager but no. They were kind enough to bring out a new medium-rare burger and it was pretty good, but the bun was downright greasy, the "steak sauce" tasted like ranch dressing with a ton of dill in it. The fries were very good, but the fries should not be what carries the meal in this range. With the stiff competition in the area I dont think this place will be around in 3 mos. Save some money and go to Bob Evans or just go to any of the other established restaurants in the area- and get a good meal. I would not waste my time to go back for a dinner. If not for our server, I would have given 1 star-she was the only redeeming part. For a prior reviewer to express that the chef could cook a phonebook and it would taste great is absolute delusion.

My husband and I the pleasure of dinning here last night. According to our waiter, the official grand opening was the night before. They must have worked out some of the glitches other reviewers complained about because our experience was awesome! I'm not usually a fan of onion soup, but it was a cold night so I decided to get a cup. It was so good I could've licked the crock it came in. My husband had the lobster bisque which was very flavorful but not so heavy you didn't want the rest of your meal. I went with the spare ribs which was so tender you didn't need a knife. The nuttiness of the truffles and the earthy flavor of the mushrooms made this dish so homey and comforting. My husband opted for the burger and fries. He said it was the best burger he's ever had! And the home made pickles ! I could've eaten just those! Not too sweet, crunchy, with just a hint of vinegar . Yum! If you skip dessert, you're crazy. We ordered the apple tart with homemade gelato and the chocolate state of mind. Rich and so full of chocolate goodness. The tart had this amazing Carmel sauce that tasted like they just made it, so good! The best part was David Burke was actually there last night! My waiter offered to bring him to the table but he looked busy , but it was so cool to see him in action! If you're looking for hipster Nuevo cuisine where the food has components and magic fairy dust, go elsewhere, but, if you want flavorful, comfort food done perfectly, the David Burkes Grillhouse is for you!

We ordered an appetizer, salad to share, and two entrees and all the food came out at once which is a huge pet peeve of mine. My filet was underdone (ordered medium, received rare) and my husband's duck was overdone (ordered medium, received well-done). Not worth the money spent.

This is one of those times where I wish I could give 3.5 stars. The food was very good--all of our steaks were cooked perfectly (always a huge plus), and the sides and starters were tasty! However, nothing was particularly memorable. The main problem with the evening was the rhythm of the service. As a David Burke restaurant, I expected service to be seamless. Nothing was terribly wrong, but there were multiple missteps. I was brought a second cocktail before I ordered one. My fiancée was served the wrong beer. We were missing silverware.... Overall, it was a nice evening, but we won't be racing back!

Where on earth are these good reviews coming from????? My husband & I went on a weekday for lunch after seeing many promising reviews. We pull up to the restaurant & the outside looks very beautiful/modern. Once inside, we were a bit disappointed (cafeteria smell? Cheap vinyl table topper?) a bit bizarre. As we look at the menu we decide on their 3-course lunch for $20 each... Appetizer: we both got the lobster bisque (OK but low quality ingredients & it was an odd dark brown color) Entree: his- burger (undercooked w/again...low quality patty), fries were bland/not cooked long enough) Mine- salmon w/"pea risotto"..VERY BAD. Salmon was wayyyyy undercooked & was sent back, they have the audacity to bring me my picked through piece of salmon Re-fired! I have never ever seen a restaurant do this. Talk about a huge red flag. The salmon itself was just about the lowest quality you can get- farm raised/not fresh. Dessert: straight out of a box from GFS. Also- the team here needs much more training.. the busboy kept bringing us other patrons food items & his cell phone was going off when he was pouring our soup therefore spilling a bit on my napkin. The manager looked like he didn't have a clue nor did he care. Our waitress was the only somewhat professional person we had contact with here. Aside from everything else, my husband & I were very very sick the rest of the day. I will inform everyone interested in going here to stay away. I can't believe David Burke put his name on this restaurant.

We've watched this cool building whither away for a very long time since it was Entourage. I'm so glad that David Burke took this cool building and turn out a fantastic resturant. We did drinks on the recommendation of our kickass server, a killer maple Bbq bacon w/sliced green apples starter and our main courses we at the top of the food chain! The courses are semi expensive on line with other high end joints but the steaks, which we didn't have, are pricey (Ruth Chris pricey), judging from our mains I'm SURE the steaks are worth it. Go, take your lady, wine and dine for a farm fresh good time.

Imagine if you will, an adventurous woman searching the mean streets of Schaumburg in the desperate hope of uncovering a foodie gem. Using the greatest weapon in her artillery, she seeks out the Yelp app, combing through reviews, restaurant after restaurant earnestly searching for the "one." On the final night of her trip to this quant suburb, she pauses on a restaurant that appeared in every search she queried. At present she hadn't turned her eyes toward the establishment as the star rating was lower than desired. As she quickly scanned the business page, key phrases from recent reviewers grabbed her attention, slowing down the flick of her finger as it grazed the touch screen. "Well, well. What do we have here?" she wondered as excitement built in her chest. As she grabbed her keys and walked to the car, she knew one thing. Her evening destination was finally selected. ________________END SCENE_________________ Yes, yes, I know that was dramatic but an experience like this deserves a Hollywood beginning because I certainly received superstar treatment at the Grillhouse. My server was Josh and he provided impeccable service. He started our journey with a compliment that was genuine and heartfelt and left me feeling instantly connected. He never rushed me, and in fact when I began to rush through my selections, he slowed me down so that he could fully explain all my options. We flowed together from appetizer to dessert in what can only be described as a dinner experience of symmetry. I selected the maple bacon for my 'tizer and honestly, for one person this could easily be paired with a salad or a few sides to become an entree. Cooked to perfection, each bite made me question every other serving of bacon I've had. I'm talking about rich, thick bacon with a beautiful glaze. Baguettes, butter, and - what's that fancy word for the vegetables in marinade served with bread and butter - yeah that - was served as well. I was pleasantly surprised that the butter was served near room temperature. I simply deplore hard, cold, butter for my bread. No worries here! My entree for the evening was the scallops. Cooked to a gorgeous golden brown color, each scallop melted in my mouth. The accompanying vegetables are nice, but not really part of the party so if you want a full vegetable serving, I would recommend adding a side dish of something yummy. The grand finale - chocolate cake. To know me is to know I rarely ever order desserts when I eat out. I made an exception tonight and am so glad I did! What caught my eye about this dessert was one critical ingredient - whiskey. Yeah that's right, whiskey cake. It's delicious - moist and fluffy. The caramel sauce on the side - dear lawd! Talk about the perfect bite each time with the whipped cream on top and chocolate mousse in the midde! _______FINAL SCENE ____________________ As the sun begin to set, the demands of the outside world decided to intrude into the magic of the night. "I guess all good things come to an end" our fair lady sighs with a slight smile as the buzzing from a nearby phone filled the air. As she began to stand, she looked around the room, feeling content. The walls, filled with pictures of local farmers in their crop, endeared the Grillhouse to her more and more. As she walked to the exit, a very nice gentleman beams at her and says "it's nice to see you!" She smiles politely and responses in kind, "it's very nice to see you too." Reaching to push the door open, she chances a quick glance behind her stunned that this lovely place doesn't have a 4 or better star restaurant, determining within herself to join the list of supporters for a superb establishment.

I threw a shower for my sister at the Grillhouse on 7/11/2015 and hands down, it was the best shower I have ever attended and it was a dream to work with everyone at this restaurant. From the beginning, the manager Christi was exceptional to work with. She did anything she could to accommodate us, worked within our price point, and was exceptionally kind and professional. I had wonderful expectations before the shower ever even happened but it wasn't until the shower happened that my socks were literally blown off. Our team helping that day were Veronica, Kelly, Jesus and of course Christi. Everyone was BEYOND kind. I felt like they were our friends -- getting excited about our decorations, helping us set up, and even bringing us bread and drinks as my other sister and I were there early setting up and had arrived with empty bellies. We could have stayed and hung out with them all day... everyone was absolutely fantastic and so kind. Thank you to everyone who helped us! I also have to mention something that Christi did that stunned me. I had designed and printed menus based on our selections a few weeks before the shower, and one of the items we had selected was a chicken dish with roasted Brussels sprouts. A few days before the shower, Christi emailed me to see if we could serve the chicken with asparagus instead, since asparagus was in season. It was absolutely fine with me, however I did not change the menus since they were already printed. On the day of the shower, as Christi was helping set up, she had noticed our menus had the "Brussels sprouts" printed on them, and without saying a word, she left for the store to go pick up Brussels sprouts for us. It left me speechless. Food and space-wise, you cannot go wrong here. The space is absolutely breathtaking and we had guests comment that it was the best meal they have EVER had, not just at a shower, but anywhere!! I could not agree more!! David Burke's has set the standard for dining and event spaces in Schaumburg -- my guess is you could honestly not even find a better spot in all of Chicagoland. If you are considering this spot, do not -- DO NOT -- waste your time looking elsewhere.

Ok not really sure why this place has recently gotten low reviews! We made reservations for Restaurant Week...the menu looked awesome, but also very approachable. When we walked it, the host greeted us and led us to our table right away. We were greeted very promptly with water filled, and the server was awesome at giving suggestions on what to try. The food, overall, was AMAZING! Everything came out in perfect time (not too fast and not too slow), temps were great, and it was an overall awesome experience! BBQ Maple Bacon - this is listed as "table shares", but there's NO WAY I'd share this one! Thick cut apple smoked bacon, a bbq glaze (think more of a marmalade than a bbq sauce), and it was atop a bed of thinly sliced granny smith apples. If you're a sweet/savory person, this hits the spot! Farmer's Onion Soup - hubby had the farmer's onion soup, which is their version of a french onion soup. I didn't have a taste (not a fan of french onion soup), but he said it was a good balance of cheese and salt. Roasted Duck Breast - I've never had duck before, so I really don't have much to compare it to, however, it being restaurant week, I wanted to try something different! I knew that duck was a little more gamy than other meats. I was very surprised to find out that it had the same texture and mouth feel as pork! The cook was perfect (chef suggested medium rare) and the skin was so crispy! The duck laid on a dark pomegranate molasses sauce that complimented it well. It came with a side of roasted carrots and a corn/spaetzel/pomegranate seeds mixture that was to die for! It was a HUGE fan! Grillhouse Burger - hubby had the Grillhouse burger and it was cooked to perfection! He asked for it medium rare, and it came out nice and warm pink/red throughout. I only had a bite, but that bite was awesome! There was a lot of flavor in the patty, it was THICK (probably an inch to 1.5 in thick!), cheddar, steak sauce and fries, with a side of spicy mayo for dipping. Mac and Cheese Side - of COURSE we had to order a mac and cheese side :) It was perfect for sharing, a good amount of cheese without being too cheesy, and a nice, crunchy panko bread toping. Dark and Stormy - nothing different about this drink staple. It was mixed well and had a good balance of flavor. I've had dark and stormys that were way too sweet, but this one was a good balance. Cotton Candy - not sure if this was because of restaurant week, but each table got a complimentary cloud of cotton candy! Again, nothing special, except for the fact that everyone smiles when you get a big pink cloud brought to your table for free! Butterscotch panna cotta - I've been on a panna cotta kick lately! It's so light and refreshing, and right now my perfect dessert! When I saw they had a butterscotch panna cotta on the menu, I jumped on it! Unlike most other panna cottas that are topped with fruit and stay on the natural sweet side, this was dessert sweet, with a thick layer of chocolate curry gelee. I really didn't taste a curry flavor in this, but more of a caramel sweetness. The panna cotta was served a martini glass that was swirled with caramel sauce. The dessert was accompanied with meringue sticks THAT HAD BLACK PEPPER ON THEM! This was the linchpin of the dessert because the subtle spice of the black pepper really cut into the sweetness of the rest of the dessert and gave it a balance. Chocolate State of Mind - if you're a chocolate fan, you'll like the chocolate state of mind. I'm more of a cream-based dessert fan, so I can only appreciate this dessert for what it was. The chocolate custard was thick and rich....very decadent and chocolatey. The whiskey cake was moist, and not too boozy at all, and the malted whipped cream gave a nice cut into the dark chocolate. I didn't have the pistachio brittle because I'm allergic to peanuts and we couldn't remember if it was a peanut brittle or another nut, but hubby said it was really good. Would we go back on a regular night for the regular menu? Absolutely! Defnitely try this place....I hope they stay around for a while!

This place is right next to the office and is not clearly known since it is off the Main Street but the quality of food is superb. The portions are small but quantity does not allows mean quality. I love the lobster bisque as an appetizer and their ribeye and steaks are top notch. I will come again and again for special occasions!

The GOOD - *Beautiful dining room *Friendly staff & service *Wonderful waft of grilled beef in the air all night *KC bone in was good sized and cooked Pittsburgh perfect The BAD - *Messed up tonic water for worse tasting gin & tonic ever, maybe seltzer water? *Salty lobster bisque and weird dark color, almost gravy looking appearance *Served creamy horseradish that tasted like ranch dressing *Served wrong steaks to wrong person but fortunately got it right *My buddy's KC steaks looked smaller than mine *Ala carte sides were sooooo small for $7 *Salt block under the butter was stupid

I've wanted to try a David Burke restaurant for the longest time and I finally had the chance to last weekend. I'm sad to say it was over hyped and pretty disappointing. When we first arrived, we went to the hostess to tell her we had a reservation. We noticed the party in front of us, an elderly couple, was asked if they wanted their coats checked but they never bothered to ask us. I can only assume it's because we look young and weren't dressed to the nines. I'm sorry, was that a prerequisite I didn't know about? When we were seated, our waitress came promptly and I had no complaints about the service. My sister and I shared the grilled octopus and then I had the roasted duck breast while she had the beef short ribs. All of the dishes were decent but not memorable. Some pieces of the octopus were chewier than they should have been and when cooked correctly, they should be tender. My duck breast wasn't anything special; it was tender but didn't have much flavor to it which was a letdown. My sister's beef short ribs were better than my entrée but still nothing to write home about. They weren't as tender and juicy as I would have thought and lacked flavor as well. The best part of her dish was the house made cavatelli and black truffle mousse. I know this is a steakhouse and maybe we would have enjoyed our dinner more had we ordered steaks, but we weren't in the mood for that. I'd like to give Grillhouse by David Burke a second chance, maybe if they have lunch specials I'll check it out. Although I don't feel the food is worth the price they charge for the quality or quantity.

We had a totally enjoyable dinner for 8 at the Grillhouse, this past Saturday. First of all, this is David Burke lite. More low key, lower prices (not inexpensive), just more suburban. The bar is the perfect place to hang out, waiting for your table, and you should plan for it. Kelly, our mixologist, was as good as can be found, even rounding up some blood oranges for martinis. Our group had bone in ribeyes, new york strips, and filets, and there was nothing left on plates but stripped bones, not even enough for the dogs. The lobster bisque was a winner too. This is the go to place in Schaumburg, or any surrounding burb, for great, grass fed, beef. Try it.

We were driving by and decided to try Grillhouse. It was a tuesday evening so it was not too busy. We were welcomed in right away and seated immediately. Grillhouse has a nice wine selection which we gladly ordered from. Our server was friendly and kept our glasses full. We started with the cheese board and followed it up with the beet salad and lobster bisque. All were very good. My wife had the seared sea scallops and I had the beef short ribs. Again, the food was very good, but nothing stood out as excellent.

"Is there anyplace around Schaumburg that you want to try?" That was the question Girlfriend asked as we were making plans this past Friday night. We were meeting up with another couple, and it was up to us to pick a place. I had noticed Grillhouse a couple of times as I took the back way to get to White Chocolate for business lunches and wanted to give it a shot. Grillhouse is in a beautiful, unique building that you'll never see if you stick to the main roads. The location isn't difficult to get to - its just tucked into an office area. The inside is equally impressive. Classy contemporary - its will not look dated in 10 years. Girlfriend and I arrived early so we could grab a drink. Long story slightly shorter, Rina the bartender was phenomenal. She had the kitchen prepare specialty juices to try to re-create a drink we descried to her. When our friends arrived, they gave her some parameters (nothing sweet, no colors...) and she created a lavender, rosemary and lemon martini that was one of the most incredible things I've ever tasted. If you've ever smelled a perfume that you wished you could taste, Rina created THAT drink. Before we were seated, a couple of the managers introduced themselves to us in a friendly, non-intrusive way. It was not your typical "table touch." We had a genuine conversation! Dinner was very good. We had the bacon appetizer and the grilled octopus. Girlfriend had the short rib and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the grilled duck breast, which I ordered medium rare. If I were to order it again, I'd go medium - but still thought it was an excellent dish. I was tempted to order one of their aged steaks (patented process!), but wasn't ready to spend that much on my first visit. I'd be hard pressed to pass them up again next time. The desserts looked delicious, but before we could choose one, the manager that we spoke with earlier dropped off "adult" root beer floats. They were fantastic, but the alcohol content was considerable. Two would have required an Uber call... I do not understand where the negative reviews come from. I tend to go and read other reviews by people who give negative marks to an otherwise impressive establishment. Reading their other reviews is... telling. By the end of my meal, I was concerned about the fairly empty dining room on a Friday night. It would be a shame for a place like Grillhouse to close. Next time you're thinking of one of those upscale chains, consider having a unique experience at a local gem. We're fortunate to have a place like Grillhouse available to us.

BUZZ - Lobster Bisque - Creamed Spinach (4/10) I ALSO TRIED - Caesar Salad (5/10) - Angry Calamari (6/10) - Butternut Squash (4/10) - Green Beans & Shallots (5/10) - 18oz Bone In Ribeye (4/10) - Beef Short Ribs (5/10) - Schaumburg Sundae (5/10) - Banana Charlotte (8/10) I never include Service in my star ratings, but I do have to explain this one a bit. The thing is, it wasn't just 1 person, so I have to imagine this may be a problem with the establishment. I brought my parents here for my dad's birthday. We walked in, and the girl behind the podium gave a warm greeting, but even though the dining room was pretty empty, we were sat at a 4 top in the bar area, with a shaky table. I understand why this may have had to be, but for reasons I don't have enough room to explain here, it rubbed me the wrong way. In short, I felt like a second class diner. Second, our server said hi, brought our menus and water, and disappeared. That didn't bother me much, but then I noticed the table behind us (also a 4 top), she gave a very warm greeting and went right in to her spiel where she gave highlights on the menu and even went through seasonal items that weren't on the menu. Why didn't she do any of this for us? Again, 2nd class diner. Third, while no fault of the server, this dinner service took 3 hours! There were considerably long waits between each course. I didn't realize it while it was happening, because the TV right above us was showing the NFL Playoff game, but after the game ended (and we weren't done), the pauses between each course was blatantly obvious. By the way, remember that other party that was behind us? They arrived after we did and left before we did. CAESAR SALAD DB Primehouse in downtown made theirs table-side and was incredibly delicious! While here the lettuce was very fresh and crunchy, it really wasn't anything impressive. They also included grape tomatoes, which was weird in a Caesar. There were streaks of some kind of reddish-orange sauce throughout, but it was so miniscule, I couldn't really pick out what it added. ANGRY CALAMARI Basically just calamari, but the breading is seasoned a bit more than normal, and instead of golden, it's closer to brown. It didn't taste burnt, so it was probably just the type of breadcrumb. Then you dip it in this sauce that added a very mild kick. It's a little peppery, and though it says miso on it, it was hard to taste. Not a bad appetizer at all, but it did come dangerously close to that "salty" line. RIBEYE Apparently, Grillhouse is not really a steakhouse. It's more of a restaurant that happens to have a grill. When I first looked at their menu, I really couldn't get excited for the place, because it was just all over the board. Worse, there isn't even a "Steaks" or "Chops" section on the menu. It just says "Mains," and it shares the list with the likes of burgers and rigatoni! Their ribeye is aged in the DB signature Himalayan salt mine, but this one only for 30 days, and there aren't any other versions here. When I first had the 40 day at Primehouse, it was life changing! I was thinking that considering the chasm that separates steak and DB Primehouse 40 day, the loss of 10 days would still produce a great steak. Well, unfortunately, I was wrong. While the medium rare was correct, the texture was "unbecoming" of a DB Himalayan salt mine aged steak. It was not any more tender than, say, a Wildfire steak! Now, it does get marks for flavor, because it had a nice beefy flavor (also a characteristic of his steaks), but what killed it was the lack of seasoning. It was so boring! Even the wine couldn't resurrect it! So, in short, this $51 steak was nowhere near its worth. Oh, one more thing. I believe that no self-respecting steakhouse should automatically serve steak sauce with their steak. Yes, I know, we've already established this is not a steakhouse, but still! DB should not belittle his name by serving a dipping sauce for your steak! It's not A1, but it's almost like A1 meets BBQ sauce. It had the tang of A1, but the sweetness and mesquiteness of BBQ. Here's the worst thing about it: because the steak was so devoid of seasoning...it actually helped choke down the steak (Yes, I used the phrase "choke down" for a David Burke steak. Sad times.). HOUSE OF PAIN When I first heard David Burke's was opening in Schaumburg, I was beside myself! When I found out it wasn't Primehouse but Grillhouse, I kept my chin up and hoped for the best. Well, all that was for naught! If DB Primehouse is a Porsche 911 (a work of art, flagship, for the (rich) enthusiast), then Grillhouse is a Porsche Boxster (slow, uninspired, a way to get wannabes to drop loads of cash just because it has the Porsche logo on it). The worst thing about it is that it costs just as much as Primehouse! Honestly, you could save some money and just go to Wildfire. Hell, I may even choose to go as low as Long Horn!

Food was delicious, the waitress was the best, friendly, knowledge and professional. I love the abiance of this restauran and the decor Is modern. I spent about $80.00 and had filet Mignon and lobster bisque that was about it, however it was worth it. If you want dessert try the apple crisps with Gelato mm mm good.

I was very enthusiastic to try this place and brought 6 of my co-workers. Primehouse in the City is one of my top-4 Chicago steak houses (and that means a lot from me) and I love his steakhouse in Foxwoods. Grillhouse unfortunately was a disappointment. We started with the bacon appetizer. Bacon is one of the things I think Burke does incredibly well but here it was only okay. It was roasted thick cut slices of bacon, good but nothing special (really, can bacon be anything less than good). Also had the cheese and meat plates, again good but nothing special. Several of us had the lobster bisque with shrimp wonton. The bisque as disappointing. It had more of a chili/turtle soup flavor than a creamy bisque I was expecting and not exactly flush with lobster. Some of my colleagues, though, had the Caesar Salad and said it was one of the best ever. I decided not to go steak for the evening and tried the duck breast, also disappointing. i love duck and have it frequently but here the fat was just fat, not at all crisp and overall it was a little too gamey. Mac and cheese side was good and the brussel sprouts were average. Tried the hyped cheesecake on a stick, also nothing to write home about. Best dessert was a very creamy panna cotta. Service was pleasant and very good with one caveat. When we arrived, tried to order the bacon for the table. We were informed they only take the full order. My take on it is at a restaurant of this caliber (particularly one about 25% full), you do what your customers want and let them set the pace of the meal. It came off as a little minor league. As much as I like David Burke, really no reason to go back.

Our HS Reunion had the privilege of being among the first guests to try this new restaurant out, located in the building that was home to the former Entourage restaurant. Our event was upstairs in a room that comfortably held our gathering of nearly 100 people. The offering was buffet style - I enjoyed the pork tenderloin the most - all of the food was tasty however. Staff was outstanding and eager to serve us. The bar was fairly busy most of the night and the bartenders did a great job of keeping up with a smile! There's a soft opening scheduled within the next two weeks or so - hope to return soon and try out other entrees as well. Nice add to the Schaumburg area!

Love this place. We are regulars now after work at least 2 times a month and just had lunch here for the first time today. Martini Review: The Peach Arnold Palmer is to die for. I'm a fan. Ribeye Review: I always get the bone in Ribeye when I get steak. My favorite is still at the Capital Grille with the Kona Rub and Shallot Butter. That said, this one is seasoned great and if they can properly cook a steak "Rare Plus" then I'll always return for more. And they do. Bacon Mushroom Cheeseburger: My husband had this, and said the blue cheese was amazing. The burgers are ground from the Filet and soooo juicy. Duck Review: I can't seem to find duck anywhere around here except Chinese places. Well, I can now...Love the Duck here. Cooked well and I'll probably have it for dinner too. Service thus far with the exception of one time has been great. Great call having Kelly in the bar by the way. She's a master of her craft. Check it out - you'll like it.

First timers here. The parking lot was pretty empty when we arrived, but we were having an earlier diner and the location is a little hidden. We were pleasantly surprised by the meal. You have to order the apple smoked BBQ bacon to start. Combination of crisp and melts in your mouth. The entrees were great and served at the perfect temp and the sides were all very good. We will be coming back and recommending to our friends.

Holy crap, we just left and I'm ready to go back already. We ordered the Angry Calamri (perfectly cooked- not even chewy at all) which also comes with some kind of cucumber salad (also so good) he ordered the 30 day dry aged New York steak medium rare (the best steak you'll ever have) It was very tender and flavorful and just a tad bit crunchy on the outside. I ordered the short rib (very tender) which came with some kind of gnocchi, all great and delicious but I couldn't stop stealing pieces of my bfs steak truthfully! Can't wait to come back and order my own steak next time. I did order the St Southside cocktail (I think that's the correct name) which was very light but it really just tasted a whole lot like simple syrup, I think next time I'll stick to another drink. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and thorough with explaining the menu. The rest of the staff was very attentive as well. Was sad we didn't get any complimentary cotton candy like the other tables! ;)

Not worth it! WASTE OF MONEY! First of all we had a reservation at 7:30pm and did not get seated till 8:30pm due to the kitchen being "backed up" from a busy night. I went with by boyfriend and his parents. We got 3 appetizers: BBQ maple bacon, margarita pizza, and calamari. nothing to write home about for any of them... especially not the calamari. We had a filet ordered medium well and a new york strip ordered medium both which came out rare. COLD centers! When we sent it back the filet came charcoaled to a crisp and the new york strip was still rare. Not acceptable for $50 per steak. Service was slow and rude when we explained the steaks weren't cooked to our request. NEVER AGAIN. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

It was good. The steak was alright. I was expecting a little juicier and a little more flavor. First time i ever had Lobster Bisque and that was excellent. The wine was very good. It was pricey...I've had better steak in cheaper settings. I hope they do well with this restaurant though.

Waste of time and $. I've been wanting to go to David Burke's Primehouse downtown for years, so I was happy when this place opened. I went with three other people for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere was good. The booth we sat in was comfortable. Service was good for the most part, except for not asking if our steaks were cooked to our liking. Morton's used to do that. Not sure if they still do. We started with the sausage and margarita pizza. They were very good. One person had the short ribs and said it was good. Another person had the KC Strip and said it was nothing special. The Rigatoni was good. I had the 10oz Filet. I asked for medium well. It came out closer to medium rare, but I still ate it. It was very bland. I had to put salt and pepper on it. The mushroom potato hash that I had was very bland also. I could have went to the store, bought mushrooms, potatoes and a Filet and made a much better meal than what they gave me. No reason to go back to this place. Very disappointing. Morton's is still the best in my opinion and every other place in the area is better than this way overpriced scam.

Did a girls night out dinner here and we had a phenomenal time. We did the restaurant week package deal. The BBQ maple bacon app was to die for. Both the lobster bisque and french onion soups were terrific. For my entree I chose the rigatoni and just about cleaned my entire plate, which I never do. The other girls went with the scallops and filet. They loved it. Everything was excellent. The chef came out to check on us. Nice guy, local chef from Downers. Of course we had dessert. The bananas foster cake was sinful. The chocolate cake was amaze too. The kitchen even sent out DB's famous cake pops, which I took home and ate before I went to bed! Yep. I did that. Simply fantastic. Highly recommend. Will most definitely go back.

I had very high hopes for this restaurant as I am an avid fan of David Burke. When we sat, by boyfriends bread plate and silver wear were dirty. We noticed dust on the ledge. Our waitress came and I asked a few questions about the menu that she could not answer. She said she would bring bread, we had to ask for it because she never brought it. The bread was doughy. She offered me and iced tea refill but never gave a refill to my boyfriend. He had shrimp cocktail and said they didn't taste like much. Our steaks came and his $52 ribeye was charred to the point of charcoal. My steak was fine however it sent me to the bathroom twice. We ordered a black tea and pear cake for dessert. The cake was dry and not exciting at all. Then there was the gnat that kept flying around our table. 2 of the 3 soap dispensers in the bathroom were empty and I wished they would have wiped down the table between courses and removed our sweetner papers before the end of the meal. For $150 dinner with no alcohol, the food and service should have been high quality. We will not be back. I have been to Bobby Flay, Tom Colicchio, Gordon Ramsay, Mortons, Gibsons, Wildfire as well as others. Grillhouse didn't even come close to these restaurants. So sad.

I had a great experience here. We got there at the time of our reservation and were sat right down. The ambience was nice, very nicely decorated. It was crowded so i thought service would not be as good but i was wrong. Our waiter was highly attentive. We never had to ask for another drink he always had it when our drinks were finished. The food was amazing, and i couldn't stop myself from ordering more and more. The place is a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

Word that comes to mind: Uninspriring. Went there last month with some galpals. No issues at all with the waitress. Two "Table Shares", the BBQ Maple Bacon and the Meat Board were both not delicious. I expect delicious for the price. They were very unspiring so much so that we were not enticed to order entrees and skipped to desserts. The Classic Creme Brulee was good (1 star). But those $18 Lollipops? I don't know what DB is thinking but they are just gross. Mark them 6 bucks and make it a kids dessert because they taste like gumball machine gumballs. The presentation, once again, completely uninspiring. They stick the balls on ends of skewers and you get a couple plain raspberries also stuck on the ends of skewers. With a couple of martinis and a pot of coffee, we racked up a bill of 140 or so. Finally, and I almost feel sorry for him, our busboy twice attempted to deliver items to our table which were not ours. And worst of all, he reeked of body odor. Reeked I tell you. Shortly after our visit, I contacted DB via their website to inform them of this unfortunate situation. I didn't get a response. Agree with another reviewer. Give them a couple months at best.

Full disclosure- I am a huge fan of Chef David Burke and he could cook me a phone book and it would be THE BEST phone book I have EVER had. We have been to Primehouse downtown and the food was phenomenal. We made a reservation for Friday evening, we were immediately greeted at the door and taken to our table. Our server promptly came over and went over the concept of the restaurant (Farm to Table) and filled us in on a few details of drinks and appetizer recommendations. We started with the cheese board and some wine. They brought out bread with pickled vegetables and butter that was served on a brick of salt ( David Burke owns his own salt mine). We loved the cheese board and finally decided on entrees. Our server again gave her recommendations. My husband had the Yellow Fin Tuna and I had the braised Short Rib. The portion of food was more than enough to satisfy hungriest of diners. The short rib was served over a bed of cavatelli and a creamy mushroom sauce with black truffle butter on top. The short rib was fork tender and melted in your mouth. There are not enough adjectives to describe how delicious my meal was. Against my full tummy's advice, I opted for dessert. Once again, our server gave very helpful recommendations. I went with the warm apple dumpling with vanilla gelato and salted caramel. We also ordered coffee with our dessert. Our coffee was freshly brewed and served with our warm, sweet delights. We really enjoyed our meal and this will be our new go to restaurant when friends and family come to town. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. Thank you , Chef Burke, for coming to the burbs!

They are still getting the kinks worked out as a new place. Great location and atmosphere. Service was good, but slow and the place wasn't that busy. Prices were reasonable....but I'm still trying to figure out how the seafood dishes qualify as 'farm to table'. Chicken Liver small plate had lots of potential, but was rather ordinary/flavorless. Steaks were ok, not as good as downtown and a little too cool for my liking. Side dish of Brussels sprouts was also not hot enough (both likely to the slower service). I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out and there is a lot of potential - I'll be back.

Given the disparity in reviews we were really curious to see what kind of experience we were going to have. It's a fine place and if it weren't so pricey we would probably return. The menu seems designed to please the meat-loving masses and is not distinctive in the least. (Not sure who David Burke is or why he is a so-called master chef, but they have his name up in lights and the waiter really played him up. All that accomplished was to raise our expectations.) Angry calamari app was salty. We split the beet salad (very good) and a pricey 14 oz. New York strip which was good. The service was good. It was full but not jammed on a Saturday night.

I had a great meal last night. The BBQ bacon appetizer is to die for. I loved the signature drink with the cucumber. I had the Amish Chicken and it was moist and delicious. Service was excellent! I'll definitely be back.

We tried this restaurant for Restaurant week. I thought it was a good restaurant. The food was very, very good even though the portions were a bit on the smaller side. With our party of 6, many of us ordered the same dishes in regards to appetizers and entrees. Strangely, no one dish was prepared the same as the others?? We didn't know if this was the chef's unique play on the dish or was a mistake. But some dishes visibly had more food than the others that were plated. Make sure you ask questions about what items mean on the menu. Potato puree = mashed potatoes for example. It can be misleading. For my Grillhouse burger, I was looking forward to getting the steak sauce with my burger, assuming it was a home-made sauce, but it was actually in the form of a mayonnaise mixture. The menu is written with this "high-society" verbiage so if you are not sure what something is, definitely ask for clarification. I wish I did. On the menu, the scallops are $26 and you receive 3 of them. That may be par for the course for scallops, but the two people who ordered that dinner were still hungry leaving. Overall, I think we just had a strange experience. I do wish the portions were a bit larger to really make you feel like you got a good value. The decor inside is very nice and the bar area as well. I can see myself going back, possibly for a drink with my wife. It's worth trying once to see if you like it.

Heard about this new restaurant and decided to give it a try. I usually shy away from "new" restaurants but it has been open about a month. My friend and I were greeted and seated promptly. We were about 10 minutes early and the dining room was only half full. I ordered the beet salad. It arrived shortly. Very nice. We were also served bread and crudites. As I was enjoying my salad, I was about half done, the entrees arrived. The table was small and the server had to shove things around to make room. For an upscale restaurant, I expect the timing to be perfect. This was awful. I felt like they were trying to rush us and it was only 7pm. I ordered the filet which was perfectly cooked to medium rare. My friend ordered the NY strip. Even though it was perfectly cooked to medium rare, the outside was overseared. The burnt taste overshadowed the succulent interior. I hope they get the timing down better and that they work on getting a perfect sear on the steaks.

Fabulous service, amazing food...superior experience. The wine list was great- something in particular about. We ordered the Kansas City Steak, Scallops and short ribs- everyone agreed this was a 5 star meal. The desserts were inventive and varied. It's a nice change from the typical Schaumburg chain restaurant. Our server's name was Cisco and he just added to our experience. My mother is a foodie and loves to talk about cuisine, he was very attentive and conversational- made her night!

I had a very enjoyable meal here with friends. The staff and service were both very good. I had the pork chop and found it a little overcooked and dry, but still seasoned nicely and tasty. I expect a little more for the price, but the staff, music and ambiance made up for the rest.

I'm a fan of David Burke due to his appearances on Top Chef, and was excited to experience his farm to table dining in Schaumburg. The restaurant was gorgeous and the staff was polite and friendly. Okay this is ware it goes south. The table had a brown rubber table cover instead of a white table cloth. Okay, yes I know I'm being picky on this one but at this price point I did not expect to dine on a rubber mat. The server broke a glass when we sat down, then forgot a place setting, no big deal but again unexpected. The menu was limited especially the steak selection witch was surprising given that this was a steak house. Being from Chicago I know what a good steak selection should look like. The appetizers looked good but had 2 pizza selections. I'm not sure where the farm to table comes into play there? We had the bacon witch was off the chart amazing. I also had the lobster bisque but it was way way to salty. For my entree I had the seared Tuna. The server asked me how I wanted it cooked? Um...seared? It was dry and had NO flavor. The deserts were good but not exceptional. We each had two glasses of wine (group of 3) and it worked out to around $100.00 a person. I spent $100 a person at Takashi in Chicago and there was a night and day difference. This dinner left me sadly disappointed.

Pros- located in the burbs. Creekstone beef is the highest quality and zabiha halaal. Beautiful location. Cheaper than the downtown Primehouse location. Cons-none. Why 4 stars? This steakhouse is hard to call out because they honestly do their best to achieve perfection. Everyone at my table was extremely happy with the meal. We all ordered the 55 day dry aged bone in rib eye and it was delicious. Well, everyone's was except for mine. Because I had patients, yes I'm plugging Ace Dental, I was late! 15 before I arrived my brother ordered for me so that my food would be ready by the time I got there. We asked for the steak to be prepared medium, but when they brought it out it was rare. I mean really rare. The fat was cold and the center a lil toooooo chewy. I was not happy and asked them to throw it back in the broiler. The waitress said oh that's medium rare but sure. Took it back, brought it back out-----and this time unfortunately they cooked it well done. Sigh, it was very unfortunate that my first time experience here was screwed. I ate the steak because I didn't want to waste it. I was sure to let the waitress know they missed the mark a second time. The manager came out and asked if they could make me a new one. But I told them it was fine and I didn't want the steak to be thrown away. So I did appreciate that very much. But at the end of the day, a $60+ a person steakhouse shouldn't make mistakes like this. Will I go again? Absolutely! Will I eventually give them all 5 stars? Most definitely!!!!!

I got carry out from here for a birthday dinner. It was AMAZING! We got the new york strip medium which was really excellent. I have to be honest in saying the sauce that it was served with was not my style, I found it too strong and taking away from the flavor of the steak, regular old A1 for me all the way. I got the beet salad, very good. Kale, citrus, goat cheese, and beets with I think fennel, very flavorful, large portion very very good. We also got three sides: pureed potatoes- excellent! like the best mashed potato you've ever had. spinach and leeks pureed- in my head i thought this would taste a certain way and when it didn't it was not my favorite, it comes in a creamy sauce and topped with cheese, i think it needed some salt. it was good, just not great. the final side was the green beans and shallots- very good, crunchy well seasoned, I'm a fan. The restaurant is gorgeous!! i wish we could have had our meal there but we just didn't have the time. Very well kept, very attentive, very professional. they are doing it right here. The decor is very nice as well and the seating seemed intimate and comfortable. This was my first steak house experience and it was take out but I can not wait to come back and really enjoy the space. It's pricy, like you would expect from any steak house, but it was well worth it. Great place, highly recommend you check it out.

Not worth it. First they bought our drinks out with the meal. My wife had sea scqllops, and our friend had the same. They were prepared diffrent. One they forgot the brussels sproust". You Would think they see that in the kitchen. The waiter noticed. I had lobster bisque. It was good. Once again two other people at our table had the same thing, and theres were cooked diffeent. It was like there are two separate kitchens. The food was good. I had a nice peice of salmon. Nothing spectacular, just good. If your looking for a quiet place to talk. This is not it. Its loud. We had 6 people at our table. Its unanimous...we would never come back

My husband and I came back one Saturday night and our experience was definitely better this time around. We had the special salmon artichoke appetizer which was amazing. I had another rib eye and I felt the quality of this one was much better than my previous experience. My husband have the pork chop and dubbed it "the best pork chop he ever had" (which means a lot coming from him). I also has the pink drink (I can't remember the name) and the cucumber vodka in the drink was so good we went out and bought a bottle. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely not worth the price at all, was very disappointed! The food quality is NOT great. Our bill was $150 for 2 of us and we left most of the food on the table. We sent an email to the restaurant complaining about the experience, and never received a response! This place will go the way of everyone in this spot before them. Closed soon.....

Go somewhere else. There are many restaurants in the mall this place is situated in. We went here as a pre-fireworks dinner for the Holiday. Wish we would've chosen a different restaurant. Didn't get our drinks until after our appetizer had arrived, and had to remind the server about them. We live in Chicago and apparently haven't realized the level of service we've grown accustomed to. Service is what keeps patrons coming back, especially at steakhouses where you plunk a nice penny. And the kicker was that this place was all but empty. Food: Oysters didn't seem fresh, wedge salads were okay, but we noticed brown on outer leaves, as well as the stump not properly cut away on one half of the lettuce head. The steaks (a 40 day dry-aged bone-in ribeye & a 30 day dry-aged Kansas City cut) were both tasty and cooked beautifully, went very well with the $94 dollar bottle of wine. However, they were served with steak sauce on the side. A good steak stands on its own. Would never go back though and cannot recommend. This isn't a dinner one has every weekend. It's a special night out, please treat it as such. How can the service be so bad when the restautant is empty? Can't imagine if it were full. Maybe they had their cut-rate staff working the holiday thinking it wasn't important to give any level of good service because they weren't expecting many diners? The server significantly detracted from what could have been a nice dining experience. At one point he was actually placing steak knives and forks on the table while looking away toward the kitchen. He bumped my husband while placing them down because he was distracted. How about don't look away when you're putting a knife down? Not expecting anything but decent service. We shouldn't have to remind the server we ordered cocktails, especially when the place has 4 tables filled. The hostess was wonderful, attentive and professional. She ordered us a cab to take us back to our hotel to see the fireworks. This experience has actually steered us away from ever trying the Burke restaurant downtown. By and far Capitol Grill Steakhouse or Bavette's for amazing steaks and seafood, great service, and steakhouse ambiance is clearly the way to go when looking for a nice steak dinner.
