First went here as a kid back in 2000 or so. Fell in love with their food, decor, rice Krispy dessert and that pump cheese YUM Sadly have only been a handful of times since then but still very, very good!

I have been to numerous locations of this restaruant since I was a little kid. When I was a teenager, the local Fudds was right smack dab in the middle of a stretch of road that was a popular hangout on the weekends with us teens, as well as car enthusiasts who would bring out their freshly waxed machines to display. I have so many awesome memories from that time in my life, so I am admittedly a little bias in my review here because of the nostalgia factor. Sue me. Fudds has not changed much at all in the 10+ years since I have been a customer. There has been some minor variations, but the focus is and has always been on great hamburgers. Red Robin, 5 Guys. and numerous others places have desperately tried to imitate this formula but their burgers simply don't stand up to the challenge. This location, like every other Fudds I have been to, grinds their own meat in house, and they are some of the most delicious hamburgers you will come across. They also make their own buns in the attached bakery. How Fudds seasons their burgers is the subject of some dispute, with websites like "Top Secret Recipes" claiming to know how to replicate the seasoning mix. This is all BS, as I have tried this out and it is not the same. I have also had numerous employees tell me that it arrives at the various branches without ingredients listed, so even the employees and managers do not know for sure. The only one who does know for sure is the Phil Romano, who founded the chain. What I really love most about this place is the extremely fresh topping bar, as this is what sets this place apart from the competition. Fresh tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, onions, etc, are all on tap here, allowing you to pile it high with what you love. Also on the opposite side are the various sauces and the notable hot cheese sauces which are awesome to dip onion rings or fries in (though Fudds fries are more like potato wedges really). I was sad to see that this location no longer has the "one pounder" burger on the menu, just the 1/3, 1/2 and 2/3 pound varieties. They do still offer it, and they did have one made up in the meat case to be viewed. The patty has a circumference about the size of a volleyball. It has been since I was about 16 since I attempted to eat one, but that is one piece of nostalgia I am not planning to recreate. The interior of this location was extremely clean and the decor is a thematic throwback to a 1950's malt shop. Staff here was great, and they kicked out my food in under 15 min, which is not bad for a busy place on Golf. If you are looking to splurge on some unhealthy food, Fudds is a great spot to indulge.

I usually enjoy Fudd's burgers but not the one I had today. It was the Kobe burger and not only was the burger nothing special (a little dry) but the roll it was served on (which was not the usually excellent roll they have but a whole wheat roll) was dry or even stale! It tasted like something you would pick up in a buffet line. When the manager stopped by and asked about our meal I told he what I thought and she replied that all their rolls were freshly made. WRONG! Not this one. She told me that if this happened again to ask for a replacement. I should have but I was hungry and I ate it. It is highly unlikely I will ever order a Kobe burger again. BTW, they never asked if I wanted a whole wheat roll and I don't think it is mentioned on the menu. And what kind of customer service response says you should complain if your food is bad? DUH!

Walked directly into thr bathroom and directly out of the restaurant ..The place is disgusting ...should be negative stars but there is no choice for it

  • Taylor M.

I cannot understand how this place has a four star rating. First of all, the bathrooms were disgusting. If I didn't already have my food, I probably would have left based in the conditions of the bathrooms alone. The food left quite a bit to be desired. All the burgers at my table were over cooked. My dad ordered medium rare and I ordered medium. Both our burgers came out brown all the way through. The chili fries were not good at all, we didn't even eat them. Rather onion ring basket came with very few onion rings and they were not even crispy... Just soggy and greasy. Gross. You get much better food at a much better price with a much cleaner environment at a smash burger or Tom and Eddie's. I won't be returning to Fuddrucker's any time soon!

Worst service ever. It took 50 minutes to get my food only to have it cold. Took back the cold food only to get slightly warm food that wasn't even part of our order. Paid for 1/3 pound burger and they tried to serve me a kid meal burger. $20 for two cold burgers with a half order of fries on each plate because no fries were ready when they "replaced" the original cold food was way too much to pay. I just hope I don't get sick from eating food that sat out too long. Bathrooms were filthy, crap in the toilets, paper towel all over the floor inside and outside of the bathroom. The health department needs to pay this place a visit! This Fuddruckers doesn't even deserve 1 star, but there is no option for no stars.

I have been coming to this Fudd's over a number of years. Last evening was my last time. The line for orders was very long @ 7pm, this unusually. but usually it moves quickly. Not this time. So, I sat with the group I was meeting there. I checked back several times and the line didn't get shorter until after 8p. In fact checking back the line was out the front door. I have never seen that in a Fudd's. There were people in my party who had ordered before 7p, had not received their food as late as 8:15p. The floors in the dining area were slick enough to ice skate on, the tables and chairs were sticky, and tables were not being bussed in a timely manner Hey, Chef Ramsey, I have a project for you!

No way around it. I have loved this place since I was a kid and continue to do so. The fixins bar is great. The menu has a ton of variety. The service is friendly as the manager came to check on me while I was eating after taking my order. But my two favorite features are they have Coke freestyle machine and they have game meats. I'm totally into buffalo, but this time I switched it up. Off the manager's recommendation, I had an elk burger (medium rare) with grilled onions, cheddar cheese and a side of and sweet potato fries. The elk was a little gamey and lean, but really full of meaty flavor. Very very good. The fries were tender and crisp. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is the prices. 18 bucks for the burger, fries, and drink. It's just a little much, I'm sorry.

Among the best burgers you can find. I always get the Fudd Original but now they call it something else. I just get the barebones kind with no toppings because I can put onions and tomatoes at the salad bar for free. Get the wedge fries and have it with cheese, ketchup and mayo. More recently, I feel that the size of the burgers have reduced, are they cutting corners? The interiors are okay, not great.

Legit burgers...topping bar with liquid nacho cheese and pico ...jalapenos tomatos this place is amazing

I like the the different size choices of beef pattie's you get here, the fact they cook it to your specifications and the large toppings bar allow you to have a burger they way you want it. Their bakery puts out some delicious cookies also. Nice arcade area for the kids to go play in while the adults take their time eating and relaxing!

Just ok, I had the bourbon burger and it was very greasy, dripping. I like the potato wedges, thick, piping hot and cut from real potatoes. But for the price I paid, I have to say 5 Guys is much tastier and cheaper

ill be brief with this. GET A PLAIN BURGER AND JUST DOUSE IT IN SQUIRTY PUMP CHEESE. you.will.not.regret.it . cant go wrong with fuddruckers. oh ya it was my first time trying the buffalo burger.. it was good and all but id much rather get the regular old burger

I feel deprived that I didn't try a Fuddruckers ever until now. I just assumed it was one of those SUPER tasty, quadruple beef patty, triple-heart bypass surgery places, but its not. They have plenty of relatively healthy choices, depending on what you order. I was pleasantly surprised this place offers Buffalo burgers. Lean on fat, and HIGH on protein, this is the way to go, if you're looking for a healthier option. They also have relatively healthy choices like the turkey burger as well. Like I said, I've been deprived, so all of this might be old news to yall, but I figured I'll be thorough anyways. You order up front, pay, and then they give you one of those flashy pager things that look like a coaster. Pick your seat, enjoy the scenary, and wait for your pager to flash. Once they summon ya, go back to the front counter and grab yo' food! The wifey ordered the turkey mushroom burger and I ordered the buffalo burger. When I was called to pick up our food from the front-counter, the employee behind the counter pointed at one of the burgers and said that it was the turkey burger (this is important, I'll explain later). They got malt vinegar, hot sauce, tabasco, and then a full-on salad bar like setup for your toppings. They include lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, banana peppers, onions, relish, etc. and then the condiments include mustard, honey mustard, and ketchup. The burgers are HUGE! Its not one of those thinly sliced meat burgers... these burgers were at least a couple of inches thick (thats what she said). When I first bit into my Buffalo Burger, I thought it was somewhat bland. Well, it turned out the person behind the counter told me incorrectly which burger was the turkey and which one was the buffalo. Let me tell you, in terms of flavor, HUGE difference. It's kind of discouraging though, to know that their turkey burger was so bland. Anyways, the Buffalo Burger was awesome. It was flavorful, cooked to a "medium" perfection, how I asked for, and was extremely delicious. I was pretty impressed. I also ordered a regular order of sweet potato fries and they were delicious as well. BATHROOM REVIEW: Pretty clean bathrooms. It contained one stall and a urinal and the overall situation was clean. Sit or squat? Sit!

Great burgers, even for a chain surrounded by several others burger places cropping up in the area. Kobe burger was nice and juicy. Buffalo burger is really good too. They used to have an ostrich burger, which tasted very much like beef but 1/3 the fat. Sadly, they no longer offer this one. I also love their potato-wedge seasoned fries, really yummy They have a Coca-Cola Freestyle, if you like hi-tech soda fountains. Nice staff, they took our trays for us and thanked us for coming. Haven't had their deserts (cookies, brownies, and Rice Krispies), but they look really good.

This was great! Truly super service! Everybody was nice and super-helpful! (Except for the general manager, he looked like he hated his job.) The food was great, and we were called minutes after our order. Fuddruckers has a salad bar, so if your picky about the lettuce you don't have to have the awkward conversation about not having lettuce. They also have free-wifi! This was one of the greatest meals ever! P.S. Avoid the general manager. He's not very nice.

Truly the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. I ate here out of sheer curiosity, and visited the restaurant about an hour before closing time. The dirty mop bucket and cleaning supplies in the front window by the entrance should have been a turn off, but I entered against my better judgement. The fella at the register barely spoke audibly, and clearly hated working there. Our food was fully cooked, but mysteriously completely cold; picture a cold cut sandwich shaped like a burger. We left less than halfway through eating our meal, and left it on the counters, with no concern about how quickly we finished, or as to why more than half of the food was still on the plate. I contacted customer service online to rectify the issue, but never received a response. Just pitiful. The price was quite high as well, on top of the lousy experience.

There consistency is like a roller coaster some Saturdays 50 min wait . Use to go 2 times a month and burgers were great. Last 2 times service and waiting on food were a D- ..their excuse to customers we new staff. Which may have been true at register but managers were running the lines and slow. ...I will go back hopefully the service changes.

I like the burgers here. You can actually bite into them. Not just a thin patty. You go up to the counter, place your order, they give you a pager and then they page you. You get your burger, then add your own tomatoes, onions and lettuce. They also have pots of melted cheese. One has jalapeno cheese. Great for your burger or fries. Soda? They have those new fangled machines where you choose your soda, then you can add a flavor to it. Hot dang! Best part is no one rushes you out. If you still have room, they have cookies and rice krispie treats.

Ok, Sunday lunch and we just decided to go here. I did not expect very large quantities of food, oh my god, was I surprised. I ended up demolishing a BBQ Chicken sandwich with a side of onion rings (Large) and regular PB shake (Reese). Though I kinda felt the shake was so-so, the other two were really really good. I found the place to be jam-packed, so I suggest to go a little early and find a spot. It's all self service, they give you a fancy buzzer, which vibrates when the food is ready, the shake is just served to you, don't need to wait for the buzzer. You gotta make the rest of the sandwich - they just give you the buns and the meat. But, it was delicious. I highly recommend this place and I think it's really nice place to go in case of pretty big group looking for a place. :)

We have been here several times before and enjoyed it. However, we have noticed every time we visited it has been going downhill. The employees are no longer friendly...bordering rude. The tables were sticky dirty and the floor was extremely slippery, almost greasy. The food was ok but not as good as previously. Salty & under cooked. We have decided that it is no longer worth the money to go there. Sad because it was a great place at one point and time.

The burger Capitol of Schaumburg. How can you compete with fresh ground beef (onsite) along with fresh baked buns? The condiment bar is unmatched. Yes, pump cheese all over everything if that is your liking. Wedge cut fries and battered onion rings round out my meal with a 2/3lb burger cooked to order. My wife orders a plain burger (no bun) with one of the salads offered. This is our family get together place for a number of years. They embrace parties of 10 or more with pleasure. I just enjoy calling family members and say Fuddruckers on saturday at 3. Everyone is excited to congregate and enjoy great burgers, shakes, salads, and more soda choices than you've ever seen in your life. Our freshly made food comes up in about 10 minutes. Nothing gets wasted because to go boxes are in everyone's hand.

I wouldn't say the food was good. It is just a fast food joint with a sit- down atmosphere. I do like the make-your-own-soda machine and the variety of sauces bar, but otherwise, it is not for me. All the tables and high chairs for children were dirty or sticky. The food was ok, but I have experienced better. Actually, Culver's as a drive-thru is better. Especially, for the amount of money you spend in this place.

Cannot get enough of this place! I started coming here as a child with my family, and it has remained a regular stop for food ever since. My favorite things about Fuddruckers: 1) Amazing sweet potato fries (the large order, of which, is ENORMOUS) 2) Amazing foot-long Dogzilla (which for some reason doesn't seem to appear on the main menu, but you can order it) 3) Variety of burger options (beef, elk, buffalo, boar, turkey) and when you order your burger cooked a certain way, it actually comes out the way you requested. You can choose a certain burger or build your own. You can order different sized burgers too, like 1/3lb, 1/2lb, and beyond. *Did I mention how amazingly delicious the buns are?? Down to the buns! They are amazing. [especially the Dogzilla's] They grill them so they are rich and buttery with so much flavor, I can eat the bread by itself. 4) The massive collection of condiments available at the condiment bar up front. You can help yourself to as many pickles, jalepenos, banana peppers, and fresh salsa as your heart desires. 5) The large selection of sauces available for dipping. They have the basics like yellow mustard, mayo, bbq sauce, and ketchup, but they also have nacho cheese, jalapeno nacho cheese (so good), and spicy mustard (amazing). There are stacks upon stacks of little dipping cups so you can take as much as you possibly want. If you are a person who likes potato wedges, those are great too, and the onion rings are really amazing. Nothing all that special about the desserts (shakes, rice crispy treats, cookies), but after consuming the amount of food they provide, you may not be all that interested, haha. They also have great root beer floats. When you walk in and place your order, they provide you with a pager so you can go up and grab your food when it is ready, but the shakes/floats are brought to your table (they give you a sign with a number to place on your table when you order). I have occasionally had mistakes with my order, but they always fix it fairly quickly. Also, they have fancy touchscreen soda fountains that offer dozens of soda options, and also have lemon wedges) The atmosphere is really fun and divey, with lots of vintage pictures and signs to check out, and if you are lucky, you can claim one of the massive corner booths. A great place to eat if you have kids with you (lots of space, moderate noise level). The food is not the cheapest, but for the amount that you get, I would definitely consider it a bargain. (1/2 burger with large side of sweet potato fries and regular-sized side of onion ring was $13). Long story short, check this place out! It is definitely worth it. I have been here many of times and it is always a nice experience!

Good clean place with good food also. I tried the Elk burger with sweet potatoe fries. It had a great taste and very tender. It was pretty empty but the atmosphere usually is on the quiet side.

The food was great! .. However, when I walked in the restaurant I wasn't greeted by the general manager who was standing at the cash register on his CELLPHONE.. I was forced to wait for someone else to walk over and take my order. Tom proved to me why I shouldn't go back to Fuddruckers ever again. Also looks like he got a new grill.. I can't complain about anything else because I received my food in a timely manner & cooked to perfection!! Thanks!!!! To the rest of the Fuddruckers employees who made it a better experience!!

  • Linda N.

The burger was tasty and was most definitely real beef! I ordered mushrooms and cheddar burger. My complaint comes with the prep.; ordered mine medium and it was a bit pinker inside than should have been for "medium". Didn't care for the fries- too salty and too soft. Their onion rings looked really good, should have tried those. Since it is a chain I didn't expect much and got what I expected-was a better taste experience than Cheeseburger in Paradise. I was in the area with others that wanted so I decided to give it a try. I dont think I'd go back as it is high for what you get.

Turkey burger loaded with whatever I want. Free cheese for your fries! My brain exploded when I found that out. Great place for lunch, careful don't over do it. Food coma will set in.

Pretty tough to go wrong when you get to choose pretty much every aspect of the burger, from the type of meat, to the toppings, even the bun. They customize it for you when you order it. It's like Burger King on steroids. Their motto should be "Have it your way.......only better!" Love that they bake the buns fresh daily. Love that they have wild game meats to try if you feel adventurous. You know who really loves this place?? My kids! And as any parent knows, if the kids like a restaurant, you now like that restaurant. They go nuts over the toppings bar where they get to choose what they want on their burger, and then you throw in the fancy new coke machine that spits out a Gazillion different options of drinks. Everyone was happy! We will definately be back!

    (4)
  • Kevin B.

Good burgers and a nice set up to do your own condiments but a bit pricey. The soda machine is really cool with lots and lots of flavors to choose from. The problem is that there are only two machines and the are cool and have so many selections that you wait longer to get your drink than you do to get your food.

Went for a fundraiser party and the cashier , young man, was extremely patient and friendly with the mass amount of people at the end of a long day. The food is always very good, and service was very quick considering the crowd.

In the 2 years since I reviewed this place, 2 major changes caused me to rethink my opinion. First, the arrival of "Fast Casual" burger places like Smashburger, Five Guys, etc. These places charge almost the exact same price (about $10) for a Burger, fries and drink as Fudds, but those places are closer to a Burger King in results than to this place. Secondly, Fudds has improved greatly. Burgers are freshly cooked, the "fixings" are kept fresh, and the selection of alternate items has improved a lot. The basic 1/2lb burger is still the standout - just good meat, cooked as you request, with lots of free toppings. Sadly, they seem to be shrinking in Chicagoland, not expanding as they deserve to be.

    (4)
  • Kimsy S.

Not bad for what they offer. I love the fresh fixins bar, and the milkshakes are incredible. The prices are a little steep, but no more than any other gourmet burger place. And the staff is friendly and helpful. I'd come back and treat myself to a Bison burger. :-)

    (3)
  • Christopher F.

Food is fresh and the fix your own burger sides are also fresh and crisp. Prices are a little high but not too bad. The restaurant condition leaves a bit to be desired though. The tables have a permanent sticky feel to them. A good sanding a sealing could fix that, but they feel dirty pretty much no matter what right now. The floors look a bit worn too, the place could a refresh. I was torn between two and three stars but went with three because the food quality is still there.

Again, I don't know why I let myself get talked into coming when I really don't like the place. The husband has some nostalgic pull for this food, but I can't stand it. I would rather just eat two of their buns and call it a day. I got the 1/3 pounder with grilled mushrooms and it came out totally dripping with water from the shrooms. After eating hovered over my plate as the liquid made a waterfall onto my plate, I opted not to eat the now drenched and soggy fries. Not a loss, as they are seasoned and wedge style. The soda machines are also a pain in my ass. It's the single serve computerized one that is becoming popular, but which causes major backups while grandpa or junior make what is apparently the biggest decision in their lives as to what to drink. Only two machines creates a huge delay. We went to get dessert from the counter on the way out and not only did we have to get back in the main line to order (and then come back to the same counter) but we weren't offered them to go and then the guy disappeared. Great. So, we wrapped them in a paper towel and hoped they wouldn't melt on the way home.

This is the classiest of the Fuddrucker's in the Chicagoland area. Now, keep in mind I throw around the word class a little too much - but also keep in mind that this place is actually put together quite well. You know what Fuddruckers is - decent burgers, build it yourself, take care of business. This place seems to step up the freshness a little better than its contemporaries, and it keeps the pace going just right as well. Made to order burgers (I recommend BUFFALO!) hit the spot and don't break the bank. I like the layout of this one and the view of tropical Golf Road!

I have been here since a long time ago, before this place got the Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines (which I love to use). Love the food, service, and the condiments you can get by yourself, especially the hot cheese, delicious. Food has always been great and I never had a problem here, usually come to this place like 3 times in two months.

When it comes to fast food, burger joints, this is the ace of aces. The meat for the burgers is simply outstanding and with it being nestled between a great, freshly baked role, the combination is great. You can only make it better by your own choosing as you go the to condiments bar and load up on your favorite toppings. My personal favorite is the 1/2 pound, works burger which comes with cheese, beacon and mushrooms. The wedge fries are also really good and I like the seasoning they put on them. Especially when they are dipped into the hot, jalapeno cheese sauce. I only wish there was a Fuddruckers closer to me for we need to take around a 45 minute drive to get there... but it is well worth the trip. I would have liked to given Fuddruckers a five star rating, however the burgers are a bit pricy, so I took off the 5th star.

fuddruckers is a chain that serves decent to outstanding burger. this review is ONLY for this location- this place is confusing in terms of 'labeling' the restaurant as dining in or fast-food. price-wise, it is not cheap to eat here, about similar price range as five guys. food-wise, for the burger, this place beats five guys anyday, simply because this place cooks their burger to your liking. (and i really like medium burgers) burger was cooked to perfect medium, and bun tasted freshly baked. for burger and bun alone, this place has some high quality-tasting burger. however, potato wedges that were served aside were merely(literally) a few pieces, i was full after eating them and you probably don't need more than what they serve, but i still want my fries to be well-portioned (*cough cough* like five guys) a few reasons i won't give this place 5 star: *priceyness *i wanted more potato wedges than a few pieces. =( - (i dont know why they could be skimpy on potato, they are really cheap...) *veggies that are self-served taste too cafeteria-like. and other toppings were kinda meh. -service: really good, super friendly. everyone seemed happy. -food: top notch burger and bun; toppings are meh. skimpy fries. overall, recommended! i am gonna try ordering burger from fuddruckers and get my whole greasy bag of fries from five guys. and run for 6 miles after that.

I don't know why I ever tell them how I want my Buffalo Burger done because without fail it always comes out well done, but that being said -- this was probably the best trip we've had there in years. There is a guy that has been there since my son was born (7 years) that goes around and makes sure that you have everything you need. He's super nice. Their fries were perfect. Crispy on the edges and perfect potato fluff on the insides with a light seasoning, not overdone at all. The only thing I hate about this place is how expensive it is. If I pay $15 for a burger at Sixteen, I should not be paying $10.50 for a burger here. That's just weird.

A large group of my coworkers and I like to go out for lunch on Fridays and decided to go to Fuddruckers as part of our Schaumburg area burger tour. I actually came away with one of the cheaper tabs, with a little over $13 for a bison burger, fries, and a milkshake. The burger was alright, but nothing to write home about. I hated my over-seasoned fries and didn't even finish them, resulting in a fine from the Clean Plate Club. The only bright spot in my meal was the cookies and cream milkshake, which was stellar. Even with a lunch full of disappointment, I was far from being the big spender of the day. Because Fuddruckers likes to nickle and dime their customers on burger additions such as mushrooms and grilled onions, many of my coworkers spent nearly $20 on their lunch of a burger, fries, and shake. That is utterly ridiculous. The lunch bunch at the office already made the executive decision to kick Fuddruckers out of the Friday rotation. We will do our taste buds and wallet a favor and stick to Portillos and Smashburger for all of our lunchtime burger needs.

I went to Fudrucker's for YEARS, then stopped once I went away to college. I have recently rediscovered my love for them. There is nothing wrong with wanting a greasy meal every once in a while, is there? The last time I was there, however, I ordered the veggie burger just to be different. I won't ever make that mistake again!! Don't do it--even if you're trying to be healthy. If that's the case, get a salad or go somewhere else! LOL I love their specialty burgers. You gotta love a place that delivers a good bison or ostrich burger! The fries are really good, and you can't go wrong with a restaurant that lets you get as many cups of liquid cheese as you want for your fries. Mmmmm, liquid cheese... I love all of the toppings you can put on your burger. Oh the creations I could make!! Fudrucker's really delivers...or...well. You serve yourself, but they have great food :)

This is a pretty good place to get a burger that's a grade or two above fast food without completely breaking the bank, and the topping bar is cool. The service was friendly, although the restaurant was very slow at the time we were there (I think the customers may have actually been outnumbered by employees). I'm not a fan of their fries, a little too thick and soggy for me, but maybe that's just a personal preference. Overall, I certainly don't yearn for it and may not go back again for a while, but at the same time, I can't complain about it too much either. Just "average" in my book.

I've never been to Fuddrucker's before but I have heard of it. We were in a hurry to grab food before hitting up BBB and to be honest, didn't notice Portillo's down the street when we were on Golf. So, my 3 stars is based on the following: 5 stars on customer service. Really nice people were working when we went in, plus they clean up often and check in on you. They also offer an open topping bar and free cheese for your fries. 3 stars for flavor. The bun was perfect, the burger was good--- I loved the wedge fries and they had great flavoring. I will say that the cheese for the fries was lacking any flavor whatsoever. If I ever end up here again, I'll probably try the guacamole burger to give it some life... 2 stars for a slightly pricey, for what it is, menu. I think my meal was slightly under 10 bucks-- which is high because the burger wasn't that special.

I give this location 5 stars for customer service. We lost our retainer. Even though it was not found, we appreciate the effort which they made to try to look for the retainer. Of the other hamburger chains (e.g. Red Robin, Smashburger, Culver's) we like Fuddruckers the most. The burgers always taste great. We wish, though, that they did not change the breading on their onion rings. We prefer the old recipe (which I believe was beer battered). The new recipe tastes more like seasoned bread crumb.

I like Fuddruckers because they can please everyone in my family without costing me an arm and a leg. Everyone gets what they want, exactly how they want it. They also have a punch card to earn free food. It's a nice plus if you hit a spot over and over. The food takes a little longer than I would like. But, the buns are soft, fresh and melt in your mouth good! The wedge fries (dipped in ranch dressing) are a guilty pleasure. My son ALWAYS gets a chocolate shake - so I have had a sip or two and it's pretty good too. Good food at a good price.

Love fudruckers! The food is great! The service is ok but the food is so good I can handle for a little.

My two friends and I came here for dinner this evening. Our milkshakes came 40 minutes after we ordered. We had finished our food 20 minutes prior to getting them. After waiting half an hour, I went to the counter to ask where they were. The manager told me they were busy and working on it. I am very disappointed in the service. The food was good but not good enough to make up for the service I received.

For some reason people (managers) at my job like treating everyone here. So I'm not going to complain about that. The burgers are a little expensive when you include fries and a drink, but that just stops me from eating fries. I usually go for the Ostrich burger (I like all types of animals.... in my belly). The fixins bar is sweet, lots of jalopenos and bananna peppers. I usually grab extra tomatoes and then have a pretty healthy meal with a pretty good burger.

One of my favorite burgers and I love the steak fries! Cool décor too. Super friendly staff. I always see what I assume to be the manager going to tables to see how everything is....nice to see!

Endless variety in burgers done fast and deliciously. I was there an hour before closing on a Sunday. I'm sure the employees just wanted to go home, but they were all fast and efficient, and most importantly, friendly. We got two great burgers and a perfectly polite staff, and all the garnishes were fresh and full, even 20 minutes before closing! Our new favorite go-to burger place. Keep up the good work! :)

  • Shradha A.

They're nice, but not too intelligent. We had this big mix-up with our bill where they charged us a few dollars more than what they were supposed to for what we ordered and the math (error) was simple but it took them 20 minutes to fix it! The veggie burger here is not so bad and we also got some pretty decent nachos. Interesting Chicago-themed decor!

  • Melissa M.

I thought all of these had closed down! I think this may be the last one left. I love their burgers and shakes. The build-your-own toppings are great! I hate going to places and getting my order messed up. Here really is my way!

This is the worst burger joint I have ever been to. Mcdonalds and burger king have had better burgers. No flavor, over priced. GARBAGE!!! NOT worth the time or the money!

  • B T.

Amazing burger. I get a discount at lunch. Just ask. I always get the cheapest burger combo. They have a nicely toasted bun with fries. I like how they have a burger bar with toppings that you can put. I always skip the toppings that they offer...the burger can get too messy and I dont like that. I always put some veggies on my fries and nacho cheese on them. I cover them with it with extra, extra Jalapeños. My one pound burger story. Went shopping near work, got a one pound burger...it was huge....Seriously huge. I am a big guy...but I was full...especially because they gave unlimited refils on the drinks. Stay away from this burger if you have eaten something that day. I might try it again after an intense workout though.... All the people are nice and the theme of the restaurant is cool. Overall a good place to go for a burger.

  • Jeff S.

I haven't eaten here in over a decade and after multiple weekends of furniture shopping in the area we stopped here two weekends in a row. Burgers were cooked correctly to order, lots of toppings to choose from, and good steak fries. For the price and brief wait time you really can't complain as they do one thing (cook burgers, duh) and they seem to do it well. Probably a testament to why this location is still around while others have vanished over the years.

  • Tara M.

It's Fudruckers! The burgers are always made the way you order them, you get to pile on the fixin's you want, although when I was there today I did not find a pickle, and I'm a pregnant lady that cannot get enough pickles... so I take a star from what should be a 5-star review, because pregnant women NEED their cravings and I am craving me a good pickle! This particular location has been remodeled since the last time I was there, and looks very nice... although I do miss the 50s/60s motif that used to be the thing there, having had booths dedicated to the Stones, the Beetles and more. The food though, is great and the old man that helps our with clearing the tables is friendly as he's ever been.

I just had Fuddruckers 2 days ago at the Downers Grove location. The burger was so good that I craved it again today and decided to pay a visit to this location closer to work. The verdict is that the burger is just as good as it was at the other location. This location was missing the ambiance and the route-66 vibe, but it was more spacious, and dare I say cleaner. A little nervous trying buffalo patty for the first time, but it definitely didn't disappoint. Obviously more lean than beef, but it didn't detract from the full flavor of the burger, and that's a WIN in my book. Funny thing happened though, my coworker somehow missed the condiments bar today, even though he passed it going to get the soda! Needless to say, don't be like my coworker, help yourself to the plentiful condiments, and fresh tomatos, lettuce, onions, and peppers!

Wow - just wow! I took the family to this place this weekend after a visit to Legoland. This was my second time back to a Fuddruckers in 2 years and the impression remains the same. The service is extremely slow and the food is a 1 on a scale of 1-5. The prices are absolutely ridiculous! - Burgers - worst I've ever had! - Fish - over greasy and tasted old and as though they sat in the fryer way too long... Hell I am a chicken wing guy and I would not even eat more then half of either because of the grease. - Fries - soggy and tasteless. There are just too many places to get good food for $10.00 per person! I give this chain a few years before plywood is up over the windows at all the locations.

  • Joe B.

There is something about a place being almost empty and the concept of self service that doesn't settle well with me. I had a buffalo burger and yes the meat wasn't bad - but I wish there was already a concept for the burger.. I had to make it myself and it wasn't the same. This place isn't worth the money.. I've had better burgers and didn't have to put so much effore :)

  • JJ L.

Sarah C below has a spot on review Service is good. Place is spacious. The open topping bar ROCKS - good variety, fresh, and the sauces (jalapeno melted cheese, bbq, honey mustard, etc) are great. The turkey burger was nothing special. The chicken sandwich was OK (bun was amazing) but again nothing too great. And for $20 for 2 people (2 burgers, 2 fries) I expected a bit more. The turkey burger + fries combo here is almost the same price as Cheesecake Factory but CF's turkey burger is 10x better. So right in the middle for me. 3 stars.

I was pretty hesitant, as I had eaten at other locations and was pretty unimpressed. This location was great! I had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries. Both were very fresh and tasty. No complaints! We also had the chicken nachos as an appetizer and they were HUGE! Definitely not your normal nachos, with big chunks of chicken. My kids are usually picky but left nothing behind of their burgers and fries.

  • Russell W.

I'm not a fan of any place where children are allowed to pick over the food with the snot covered fingers, searching for the perfect tomato slice ir piece of lettuce. I've been 3 times and was thoroughly dissappointed each time. I really wanted to like it, but it just seems gross to me.

Unlimited cheese + condiment bar = fast food restaurant of my dreams! The burgers are huge and I can put as many jalapenos on my burgers and put as much cheese on my fries as I can want! AHHH one of the few (only) things I'll miss about moving out of Schaumburg!

Wait for ordering was out the door. Mgmt wasn't proactive at all.. The day after Xmas, dinner time and only one person taking orders.... Mgr never jumped in and took orders and we watched many family's walk out the door very angry...We were never told while waiting in the line that we could have sat in the bar area and not had to wait in the order line!!! When we picked our order up not only was it wrong... The person plating it was eating!! WTF! I was trying to explain our order being wrong and need to wait for the guy to finish chewing so he could answer/make our order right.... The manager was standing next to him but very busy not making any eye contact with any customers.... Place has only been open a very short time so I would think it would still shine in the service side of things... Not so much.. Super sad, this was my favorite place growing up and I couldn't wait to take my family for the Fuddrucker experience.. Can't see us ever returning! I will be Yelping what our Algonquin Fuddrucker experience was like so other don't have to experience it!!

I have been here for work and personal meals on several occasions, and i cannot say a bad thing about the place. They have better burgers than your fast-food chains of the world and do not have a $1 menu. You get what you pay for. They have 1/3 pound, 1/2 pound, 2/3 pound and 1 pound burgers. Compare a McDonalds quarter pounder for $3-4 or you can get these freshly made while you wait burger for about $1-$2 more (plus they're bigger) They have endless toppings to build your own burger the way you want it...perfect for picky eaters. Even hot cheese (love them on my fries). They also have an awesome Cajun Grilled chicken sandwich, definitely worth trying. Everything there is good. Its not a dollar menu burger joint and theyre taste proves it. There were 2 occasions where we waited very long and another when an item was forgotten when i picked up my order, but on both occasions they were sympathetic & made up for it right away. To wrap, if you want a delicious burger (or chicken!) sandwich, its definitely worth trying!!!

I haven't been to Fuddruckers in years, but it hasn't changed much. Which is good, because their burgers were really good before and they still are excellent. The prices are decent, the food quality is great, friendly staff, endless toppings you can pile on...which were very fresh. I hear they are getting new meats for burgers like buffalo. I might want to try that next time if they have it. The place is great for all ages and it's a fun experience for the kids.

  • Lindsay S.

I reallllly like the burgers from here! I think they are delicious and cooked to order and the bun is great. I also like the fact you can get a fountain soda or a huge beer. I've had the chicken taco salad or something... and it is delicious too! I like that I can always find a seat... and you get a free cookie with a meal... I don't eat fries but I like the potato wedge idea more then thin cut fries.... this place is great... I honestly am now thinking about when I can go

  • Cali M.

Fuddruckers slogan is "World's Greatest Hamburger" and it is NOT a lie! With the bakery and the butcher at the front of the restaurant the buns and meat are fresh fresh fresh! You top your burger with fresh toppings from the topping bar and don't forget to load up on hot jalapeno cheese for your wedge fries. Mmm, a pile of delicious. I have been eating at fuddruckers since I flew out of the womb and its never gotten old. I want one now :( Finish a one pound burger, I dare you!

  • Nick S.

I was annoyed when I saw all these great reviews for a Fuddruckers. I thought this was a Ruby Tuesday or a slightly better Burger King. I was pleasantly surprised. The concept is closer to Pot Bellies than a Burger King. The Schaumburg location is well run and you can tell the employees want to be there. My wife and I disagreed on the burgers. I still think the Portillo's burger tastes better. She absolutely loved her burger. Regardless, for a place that costs around $10/person, it exceeded both our expectations. Make sure to go on a day you work out b/c you don't feel so hot when you walk out of there.

This is, and has always been, my #1 A+ Favorite Burger. From the age of 6 and onward, when my parents would ask me "Where do you want to eat for your birthday?", I picked Fuddrucker's every single time (what can I say, I'm a cheap date!) Now, I am a burger connoisseur. I have had pretty much all of the "top rated" burgers in Chicago. There is nothing better in the food world than a perfect cheeseburger...and Fuddrucker's is as close to Godliness as they come. They cook the burger right EVERY time, the meat is nicely seasoned, it's cute as hell in there (I've seen it go through two remodels...I miss the "Music" booths, but it still looks good!), the buns are beautifully butter toasted and FRESHLY baked... And ummmmmmmmmm THE TOPPING BAR. Now if that's not worth the price of admission alone, I don't know what is! And because of it, I always have to order a side of fries (I'm not a big fry person, but I do really like theirs) so I can make cheese fries. I also invented "pico fries" because of this feature, wherein I dip a fry in liquid cheesy goodness and then dredge it through the free pico de gallo...DELISH. And the oatmeal raisin cookie is the BEST I've ever had. Fuddrucker's, I'm moving to LA, and I'm praying your other locations are just as satisfying. People may disagree with me, but my mind will never be swayed. You know that mural they have had since the dawn of time with the woman closing her eyes in deep satisfaction and leaning over her burger with the green margarita in the background (which when I was a child, I believed that was a lettuce leaf she was using to provide shade for the burger...I had a good imagination)? That's me. I am that woman. We've had twenty (TWENTY!) great years together...keep it real, love. Keep it real.

This place is the bomb! I hadn't been here in awhile since I moved from Schaumburg over a year ago. Normally I get a burger, which is always cooked the way I want it. Today I tried the Ostrich burger, which was amazing. I've also had their Buffalo burger which also rocks. What's nice about Fudruckers is their little bar-o-fixin's so you don't have to deal with the wilted lettuce, tomato you don't want, and too much onion that you get at a lot of places when you order a burger. Also, kudos to their onion rings and shakes. And their fountain Diet Dr. Pepper gets a star of it's own. It's the best I've ever had. This place is pretty much the mecca of burger joints. LOVE it!

    (4)
  • Mike C.

They advertise that they have the "Worlds greatest burger". I have to agree! When I go there, I always order the 1lb cheddar burger with bacon. MMMMM. Love it!

    (5)
  • Dan S.

The only thing keeping this place from a 5 star is the prices. Considering that they have a pretty basic menu (aside from the exotic game burgers), their prices seem pretty high for what you get. I got the 1/3 lb cheeseburger with fries & drink, and the total was over $10. Apparently the unlimited toppings bar is the reason for the high prices, but being a plain eater, I never get anything more than some jalapeno cheese for my fries. Granted, the burgers are superb & the buns are some of the best I've had, but due to the prices, I only visit once in a while

    (4)
  • Alex R.

Good, solid burgers. That's what they are known for, and that's what they do best. I come here with work friends pretty regularly, and pretty much always get the same thing, which is a 1/3 lb burger with cheese and a drink. Then I take my burger and load it up with delicious veggies from the salad bar. You get a great burger with great toppings that way. Summary: Come for the burgers, leave with clogged arteries. Mmmmm.... Well worth it.

  • Julie P.

Hmmm, I think I was underwhelmed because I was expecting more of a chain sit-down restaurant to begin with. It is really more of a counter style place where you place your order at the front and wait for your order number to be called. I ordered my burger medium and it was definitely more on the rare side, so I sent it back. The second one was much better and cooked to the correct temp. I asked for the new burger on a regular bun because the wheat one I originally ordered was hard and not tasty. I loved the cheese sauce to dip fries in, but thought they could have had more inventive toppings for the burgers. All in all it was OK.

    (3)
  • Richelle T.

If you want tasty burgers, this is your place. The condiments are awesome! The price is pretty reasonable comparing to the other places.

  • Eric M.

For a chain restaurant, I will take this over a Five Guys any day. I ordered the 2/3 pounder and not only was it cooked perfectly it's seasoned very well too. The addition of cheese sauce took this burger to whole new heights. The fresh cut fries are also outstanding. Now that I know they also have ostrich as an option I can't wait to go back.

    (4)
  • Ron S.

Oh juicy juicy burger, you have served me well. This place rocks! They even cook their own buns daily.

    (4)
  • Kristin A.

Fudrucker burgers and shakes are great and its a great place to take kids. I've been to a couple Fudruckers in the greater Chicago area and I have to say that in comparison, the Schaumburg location is a complete dump. Because the atmosphere is so dark and grungy I prefer to go to portillos.

  • Chris W.

I've passed this place a million times but I never even really knew what it was. Today I ended up there after looking up some reviews on yelp. People were all raving about their burgers... And the reviewers all had pretty good taste because the burgers were super awesome! The only thing I had to semi gag at was that everything was just a liiiittle pricey. I got a three cheese burger that was 1/3 lb for $5.79 plus tax. The meals were around 8-10 bucks, and more depending on the options you choose. It was cool though because they have this big setup where you can put jalepenos, pepperochinis, lettuce, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, etc. on your burger when you get it. They also have a whole bunch of ketchup/BBQ sauce, etc. and even liquid cheese and like a spicy jalepeno cheese which was DELICIOUS! We also got chili cheese fries which were alright though I still think Culver's chili cheese fries are the best...BUT!! Overall it was an awesome place to get some food and they even have the option to get a domestic beer with your meal which I just have to mention because you can't really do that in many other places.

Freaking tastey chicken sandwich. They cooked it perfectly and I was a happy camper going back to work. Thank you for making my day. It was just right! It was a bit pricey for two people $24 but o well it was yummy.

Fuddruckers needs to work on updating their locations. I used to be a manger here and they were much better with food quality and appearances. Each time I go to Fuddruckers and like it a little less each time.

    (3)
  • Joan K.

Yummy hamburgers. Place could be cleaner. Kids behind the counter need to stop fooling around and prepare the food. Otherwise it's fine for a reasonably prices burger with all the fixings.

    (4)
  • Rachael H.

Their burgers are bomb! They use fresh ground beef, non of this pre made patty stuff here and they cook the burgers to your liking and actually cook them the way you ask. Yeah, I have to agree, I love that you can put whatever toppings on that you like from the topping bar.

    (5)
  • Justin W.

Dude - Sweet! They make awesome burgers and let you put whatever the hell you want on it. I've always loved it! They have some spicy jalapeno cheese that you can put on the burger or dip your fries into. Even my friends who prefer their burgers plain love it.

I love fuddruckers. I miss fuddruckers! I live in the city, and i havent been to this location yet...but i know it must be good! I get a gut buster when I go to fuddruckers, I put on a little layer of mayo and then i go to the cheese dispenser and put the melted cheese on! and then go to the salad bar, and get the sliced pickles, on the side. Some would say its gross, but I love it. Perhaps i can convience my boyfriend to go to ikea next week, we will get hamburgers....drool....

  • Kat A.

mother f'ng duck f'ers frequently found at fuddruckers f'ng ducks . . . okay - has nothing at all to do with this funky, fun, fabulous, not to be taken seriously except when it comes to absolutely amazing burgers & milkshakes, establishment. They closed the one in Palatine, so check out Chicago & Schaumburg locations. With self serve cheese dispensers (hot or mild) and a plethora of condiments. Come for the burgers, stay for the fun - but definately come - one way or another ;-)

  • Jeff L.

I love this place. The burgers they have here are the best. And there fries here are really good as well. And they have a little salad bar so you can make your burger exactly the way you want it. And there milk shakes are pretty good as well. And it's really cheap as well for the quality of the food. Also out of all the Fuddruckers that I've been to this one is the best. The only downside is that if you're in the city you have to drive a bit to get here. But I find that it's completely worth it. So if you're spending the day shopping at IKEA or Woodfield, and you want a burger I would suggest driving down the road to here for a great burger and fries.

  • steve k.

I've been here once but to the south suburban location. I wish there were some in the city...any place that gives you a plethora (yeah I said plethora) of toppings and ingredients is alright by my book. I basically put a cobb salad on top of my burger when I was there.

    (3)
  • J M.

Fun place. I like it better than Portillos though not too crazy with burgers.

    (3)

Several after season sports parties there and everyone loved it! Good burgers that you get to top at their extensice topping buffet. Also they have cafienne-free Diet Coke-a must for me!

  • Oscar the Death Cat B.

For my money, Fuddruckers does the best hamburgers in the Chicago area, I've found that even legendary burger joints like Hackney's don't measure up consistently to the quality of the burgers at this chain. The size of their burgers ranges from modest to enormous and you get to specify how you want yours cooked. They are always deliciously juicy and you get an unlimited choice of garnishes from their large "topping bar". Their seasoned "Fudd Fries" are a worthwhile compliment, they also have huge decadent desserts which I've never sampled because I'm always too full from my burger & fries! I would eat here more often if my body would let me get away with it. Sadly, a drive to the suburbs is required, Fuddruckers has no restaurants within the city limits.
