4 stars for fast and friendly service, location, value and great taste! Located inside Woodfield mall by the JC Penney wing. $3.95 + tax for a large tea and that comes with free regular boba. They have options to add other flavored boba or jellies. They also have the option for fresh fruit for $1 more. I tried the cantaloupe smoothie and man it was so good and refreshing. I'll definitely come back to try their other flavors.

I knew that there was a bubble tea shop somewhere in this mall so I looked for it and luckily found it! I was really excited to get some bubble tea because I haven't had some in a while. I've recently just came back to Chicago from California to visit. Back in California, I would get bubble tea a couple times a week and I would get my usual: mango green tea with boba. When I found this place, I found that the employee behind the counter wasn't very friendly. I didn't like the way she gestured. She used her hand to come and order instead of verbally saying it which I thought was rude. After I ordered, I waited a couple of minutes to get my bubble tea. I already had a feeling that it wasn't going to be great because I saw them use powder... POWDER! In California, they used REAL fruits! I finally got my drink and I immediately was disgusted when I took that first sip. It had such a bad after taste too! I was relying on the tapioca to disguise the horrible flavor. After finishing all the tapioca, I just decided I couldn't do it anymore and threw the rest away. There goes a waste of a large tapioca. At least I know which bubble tea shop to avoid now.

A lovely cup of tea, in a slightly out of the way wing of Woodfield. It's worth the trek. Chill Bubble Tea does bubble tea. In fact, bubble tea is all it does. The shop is simple, sleek and clean, though it's nice to eye the giant tubs of tapioca in front of the shop. Their unique "thing" is to offer combinations of flavors for a few dimes more, which is how I ended up with a strawberry shortcake bubble tea (almond, vanilla, strawberry). They also have flavored tapioca, which I'll try later. In short, the smoothie part was nice and fresh, and the tapioca was perfectly cooked - a bit chewy but mostly tender. I was done with it on my way out of the parking lot. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back for another lychee-containing flavor; and I'm definitely ready to have some flavored tapioca as well.

Since I ran to the mall when it opened so I could pick up some items I needed before the rest of the day, I kind of forgot to eat. Before leaving, I stopped here to get some yummy in my tummy. I decided to get the Orange Creme classic. It wasn't really yummy. The flavor was good, but not amazing. The balls were disappointing. Half the tapioca balls were hard and/or shriveled up. I was willing to forgive the flavor, but I can't forget the balls. I'm glad this location is exposing people to bubble tea in the mall but I've had sooo much better elsewhere.

If you want a REAL FRESH FRUIT smoothies and decent tapioca drinks -- just go to Joy Yees. If I can, I wouldn't even give a star to this place. MAJOR ISSUES: 1. Don't call it fresh fruit smoothies when I see you carry FROZEN DOLE MANGO packages from the back to make your so called fresh fruit smoothies. 2. Don't give me an attitude and look at me like I am stupid when I tell you my Milk Tea is too sweet and tastes like 90% syrup and 10% Milk Tea. Do your job right and I won't have to come back and bother you in the first place. 3. Terrible customer service, no hellos, no thank yous. Never. Again.

They have EXCELLENT big tapioca pearls!! I think the tapioca can make or break a bubble tea. The worst bubble tea I've had were ones with under cooked or hardened tapioca balls *gag*. I usually order the Avocado flavored bubble tea, which tastes nothing like avocado. And if you've had the avocado one from Joy Yee's, it tastes nothing like that either. In the beginning, it was the greatest tasting drink I've had in a while. I'm not sure what was in the green powder that they used for the flavor, but it was sweet and has a different taste to it from anything else. Lately, though, they haven't been tasting the same. I'm not sure if they changed the mixture or if my taste buds got bored of it. The service leaves much to be desired at times. It's strange, if you're there on a slow night, you have to wait by the counter because the cashier is in the back room. I'm tempting to bring my own bell so I can ring it to get their attention. Once, I checked on them three times in a 20 minute time span but nobody came to the counter, so I left the mall without one :( Tuesday specials - get a large for the price of a regular drink.

We were at Woodfield Mall last Labor day weekend and our cravings for tapioca and smoothie hit us. Before leaving the mall (we were park at the Nordstrom area) my husband googled and see if there are any bubble tea nearby. Lucky us there was but on the other side of the mall. Me, my MIL, and LO are already tired from walking so we decided to drive around and find the Cheesecake factory (says in the website that it is near that restaurant). I bought 3 flavors, cookies 'n' cream, taro and avocado all with extra bubbles! We are all happy! Smiles are big and we are like toddlers receiving a bag full of lollipops and chocolate! Service was fast too!

Tried two drinks from here, horchata and cotton candy. Delish, boba on point. Prices about a dollar more than avg, but it's in a mall.

I used to go to the Chill on Greenwood (was it Greenwood? It turned into another place several years ago, sorry.) ages ago, as a fun place to stop and have bubble tea while out riding. Enjoyed the chill-out atmosphere and comfy couches to sit and sip your bubble tea. This Chill is a stand inside Woodfield Mall. There are mall benches if you want to sit, but it's definitely not the same. I've only tried one bubble tea variety there so far, but was pleasantly surprised because it was HORCHATA BUBBLE TEA. This location offers some random, unexpected special flavors, in addition to old stalwarts like your milk teas and fresh fruit bubble teas and avocado and the like. The day I went, they offered tiramisu and horchata. I asked the guy behind the counter if he'd ever tried the horchata, and he said he hadn't. I decided I couldn't pass up the opportunity, so I ordered one. A few minutes of blending later, he slapped the cup in the sealing machine and handed it over. Very cinnamony, and very delicious. Boba were perfect; neither undercooked nor overcooked, just that pleasant, yielding texture of good tapioca balls. BALLS. It doesn't taste exactly like the horchata you get at your favorite Mexican restaurant, but it does taste quite good, so I can definitely live with it. :)

Love the Watermelon !! The staff is always friendly as well as efficient! My favorite stop while at the mall!

I freaking love the Nearby function on the Yelp app. I can't tell you how many awesome places I've discovered just because Yelp thinks I would like it. I was sitting in the middle of Woodfield Mall thinking about how I can no longer afford half of these stores due to my new "budget" that leaves very little (no) money for shopping. I was about to have a mild meltdown until Yelp said "You know what? You're a great person that deserves good things in life. You should go for a bubble tea right now." To which I replied, "You're absolutely right, Yelp. Let me go find this place." The menu is huge. It's hard to decide which flavor to get because there's just so many choices. However, when I saw the chai bubble tea, it was settled. I asked the girl working if all the smoothies include the tapioca pearls or if I had to pay extra (looking back, this seems like a dumb question but whatevs) and she said they were included. I did see a little sign on the register that said there's an extra charge for the flavored bobas (kiwi, strawberry, etc) I was also promised a free smile that I never got. Hmmm... The bubble tea itself was really delicious. It was creamy and blended really nicely--no ice chunks at the bottom! The tapioca and chai paired really well together, so I'll have to order this more often. Also: don't forget to use your 10% check-in offer from the Yelp app. I totally forgot to and felt silly asking for a $0.40 refund; although, that would have been $0.40 I could have spent shopping.

I can confidently say that I shop more than the average person. With all that shopping comes thirst. A girl gets parched on a hunt for more clothes that she does not need. When I spied a couple walk by sipping on their bubble teas, I had to have one! We checked the map, and onward we went to Chill Bubble Tea! At first glance, I noticed that they had a horchata flavor on their menu. Now that's different. I may have to go back to give it a try. I'm a creature of habit and I went ahead and ordered one of my favorites: Taro. The flavor was right, but the consistency was watery. The tapioca pearls were blah. Half-way through I was trying to pawn my purple bubble tea off on my boyfriend. I usually don't even like him taking a taste of whatever I'm drinking because one of his sips and half my drink is gone! Here I found myself almost begging him to take it off my hands so I wouldn't be burdened any longer by carrying or finishing the drink we trekked to the opposite end of the mall for. Unless you're a novice bubble tea drinker, you've had better. If you decide to give Chill Bubble Tea a shot and you're looking to save some change (literally), check on in. You can receive 10% off when you check-in with your Yelp mobile app.

Only a select few of the bubble read are made with real fruit and they are more expensive than the regular made with powder version. I ordered a large bubble tea smoothie with real fruit pineapple and kiwi. I went for the large since it was only 20 cents more. Yelp also provided me with a 10% off coupon which was nice. I was out of there for under $5. The service was great and super friendly. I really enjoyed my bubble tea. I just really dislike the location. I would only go here if I am already shopping at woodfield. Oh and I was super impressed by the machine that caps your drink. It's hard to explain, but spill proof which I am sure the stores appreciate!

I have known about this place for awhile, and I knew that I would love it when I eventually tried it. But I didn't because it is a good 30 minutes from my house, it is annoying to park in the JC Penney parking lot and make a trek through prom dresses and a perfume counter to get a bubble tea. I had a bad day that started out a dentist's office and I needed a reward for being such a trooper. I found myself only about 15 minutes from Chill, and this was my ticket to tapioca. There were lots of choices, not as many as Joy Yee - but they had my favorite (almond) and others that I had never even imagined. Some were made with fresh fruit, some weren't. I ordered a large almond with tapioca and a couple of minutes later I was presented with heaven in a cup. Years ago I had gone and visited a friend in Texas. It was there that I discovered bubble tea like this. The kind that comes in all sorts of flavors and is sealed with a plastic lid. I instantly fell in love and haven't found anything similar...until now. This was near identical to my Texas bubble tea and fear consumed me. I would be driving 30 minutes away to get my fix many more times. I am planning my next visit right now in my head. I want to branch out and try more flavors - but I don't know if I can give up the almond. I hear that there is a punch card and a Yelp check-in offer. I will find myself here again and again and I'm not ashamed.

For being a bubble tea shop general manager, it takes a lot for me to like other bubble tea places.. and Chill caught my attention. My girlfriend and I were visiting Chicago from Buffalo and we were told to try this spot. We always try to order a Classic Milk Tea with Tapioca since that is pretty standard everywhere, and then we went novelty by ordering a Blue Raspberry Kiwi Smoothie with Pomegranate and Pineapple Bursting Boba (thats what we call it but they just called it Flavored Tapioca). Milk Tea - Flavor, Drink texture, tapioca texture, and ice to drink ratio on point, but the sweetness was a bit much for a Milk Tea Bubble Tea. I usually associate Milk Tea flavor as a subtle quiet drink, yet this screamed out "SUGAR" Blue Raspberry Kiwi - Flavorful, and innovative because you normally think Strawberry Kiwi, yet they paired blue raspberry instead. The smoothie wasn't too icy, yet not too watery.. it was smooth (pun intended). At our shop we have different Bursting Bobas so we wanted to try Pomegranate and Pineapple. They added the expected new dimension of flavoring and texture to the already decent drink. But then the sweetness level kicked our appetites again. We know that Bubble Tea is supposed to be a dessert drink, and even at my shop we offer sweetness level preferences which I'm sure they do the same at Chill, but for us, we both ordered small sizes and we could not eat dinner for the rest of the night. Lastly, the guy making our drinks was friendly, offered help, answered any questions, and made our drinks mindlessly with ease and precision. -1 for sweetness level, 4 for all the awesome you've packed into a 10x10 square foot stand.

I like this place! They make fresh bubble tea frozen smoothies. It's not like Joy Yee bubble tea in Chinatown, but it's not bad for the burbs. I usually get Avacado with tapicoa pearls, green tea latte with tapicoa pearls, and an occational milk tea latte. You can also ask them for more or less of their mixtures as there's times it can get to be a bit too sweet. It's a little space in the Woodfield Mall. There were times that there would be a line waiting for your turn. You get to watch people make your smoothies. If you check in with Yelp or Foursquare, then you would get 10% off your order! I wish the cups would be a but more sturdier. It's hard to hold it to avoid it slipping through your hands. But at least the top is sealed and not a rim cap top that can pop off or leak out your drink. I would only come here if I'm at the mall for something else. It's not like you can drive through here to pick up a smoothie and go.

Wonderful store! Every time I go I am pleased with both the customer service and the drinks. Especially the employee, Dulce, is such a delight to have ordered from. She made my boyfriend's day with her kindness.

I dropped by during Black Friday shopping in Woodfield Mall. I felt sorry for the two ladies working as they looked very tired. I can only imagine how many orders they had to make that early morning. They managed to remain friendly and smile which is admirable. I tried two different flavors. The Avocado Bubble Tea was beyond bland. I would not suggest ordering that flavor because it tastes like an Avocado who was disowned by its family. The Mango Bubble Tea on the other hand was very decent. It wasn't the freshest, but it passed the taste test for me. Their normal Tapioca is rather lackluster despite all the hype they have posted in their decorations about the Tapioca. Too Chewy and colder than the actual drink itself. I would recommend paying the extra for the special toppings. The Mango Tapioca and Pomegranate Bubbles are of superior quality. The pricey Bubble Tea hit the spot for me. I am sure they have their good flavors, but I unfortunately didn't find it this time around. They just need to blend their Tea better and prepare the Tapioca with more care to earn that 4 stars from me. I have paid a lot less for amazing Bubble Tea. PRO TIP!!! You can use 10% off if you Check In on Yelp!
(3)Ana M.
Absolutely love this place. A bubble tea addiction can get pretty expensive at $5 bucks a pop, but it is well worth it. I usually stick with the Mango or Berries. I would have loved to give it 5 starts, but the staff there is usually lack luster. Never really smile or really acknowledge anything besides your order. They do however make a mean bubble tea, so that alone will keep me coming back for more.
(4)Philip M.
They have a lot of varieties. The avocado was not sweet and the purple Oreo is not crushed oreos in it. The strawberry shortcake was too sweet
(3)Bella W.
Maybe it's because I've had so many bubble teas and smoothies from many different places and even different states, so now I'm picky. Tapioca are really easy to make and if you soak it in honey water for a just a few min the Tapioca would taste so much better, but the tapioca here are bland and flavorless, just chewy. The mango smoothie's pretty good, but the milk tea is..., it's good but it has that taste that makes you sick of it about half way through. I still go here cause it's a tradition for my friends and I when we go to the mall, but some of the staff could be friendlier.
(3)Maddy K.
Bubble tea is delicious and this is by far the best I've ever had. They use fresh fruit which is fantastic and the tapioca balls don't get hard fast like they do at other bubble tea places. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the service. It is almost always very slow and the workers are extremely hard to hear. I swear they whisper instead of talking.
(4)Britt C.
It's probably my fault for picking the weird flavors, but somehow I'm never fully satisfying my bubble tea cravings when I go to Chill. It makes me sad inside. Their tapioca is sub-par...sometimes frozen chunks or too chewy (aka hard as rocks). I tried a coconut Thai tea and it was pretty good actually, especially since I had no idea what I was getting myself into with the Thai tea...I was informed that it was like a black tea and opted in...but asked for a good flavor to mix in. I wanted watermelon...but deep down I knew that wouldn't work. I always want the weirdest mixtures. The girl working there told me to go with coconut and I did. Good flavor pairing. I guess they are pretty busy most of the time. We had to wait a minute for them to clean some of the blender things to make our drinks. No biggie though. **bonus - they have a punch card!
(3)Dan K.
So, I checked in through Yelp because sometimes I actually remember, and I got a voucher for some percent off! I think it was 10 but still, that's a good deal for doing pretty much nothing! They have a lot of choices, but the service is kind of slow. They had two girls working. One would take a bout 3-4 orders and set up the blenders with the ingredients and the other would work on them one at a time. It's probably just because it's so popular, but nonetheless, you might wait in line depending on when you show up. They have the cool little machine that heat seals the lid on top which you then get to poke with a colored straw of your choice. FUN
(4)Crizalynne V.
Tried this place for the first time and I didn't enjoy it. The smoothie was runny. Tapioca had no taste. Not coming back here.
(1)Shantanu D.
I got the lychee bubble tea here and I felt it may have been the worst bubble tea I have had in a while. The drink wasn't even blended to a consistency and had an awful after taste. I definitely do not recommend this place.
(2)Lois C.
I am absolutely livid with the customer service, if you can even call it that. The girl who was working today (brown hair that I believe was curly but I can't be sure since it was up) was rude and cold. The customers in front of us were given tapiaco when they asked for none. She rolled her eyes and made a huge fuss about having to make a new one for them. The customer politely asked her why she had such an attitude about it and she just waved them off and said you can go now. Once it was our turn, I didn't even want to order but since we wanted for 10 minutes to be served, my friend and I ordered our drinks. I ordered a mango with tapiaco and my friend ordered a berry with no tapiaco. Well I'm sure you can guess.... my friend was given tapiaco in her drink. Why even ask if we want it or not if you aren't going to do the order as it was given? On top of that, I got no hello, no thank you, no type of acknowledgement of any sort. I am absolutely appalled that this girl is even allowed to work here with the attitude she gives the customers. I'm even more surprised there is customers that even want to be served. As for chill itself, I've had tons better and I will not be coming back ever again. Its a hot summer day, to have one worker only is a bit ridiculous. ETA: I went back to Chill and although the service was better, tapiaco was out which I guess is understandable if it was only out for a bit but it was out for an hour which makes me think there needs to be better preparations. All in all, it was a better experience but still not totally happy with the experience.

Was visiting Woodfield Mall and stumbled across this place as I was browing through stores. I'm originally from Southern california so I'm used to Boba places but since my move to Louisville 5 years ago- I've been sad- we don't have any of these places in Louisville. The price difference between a small and Large is only like 20 cents so get a Large! Noticed that the place uses real fruit and you can tell the difference. Really good and fresh. A few Tapioca bubbles were frozen still but I kinda actually liked it. All the other ones were soft and yummy. Whenever I'm in town again- I'll have to stop by and get some more Boba- or I guess it's called Bubble Tea around these parts! :) The cashier girl was also really nice by the way and I got a Yelp Discount! :)
(5)D P.
This place is great however the service is horrible they have two people working on Saturday evening which is one of the busier times at the mall. They need larger staff, the line was long as 20 people.
(3)Elisabeth C.
Really, really gross. The boyfriend and I stopped in Woodfield's Apple Store and on the way out I picked up a strawberry smoothie from here. It was 60% ice, 30% syrup, and maybe four strawberries. The syrup tasted off, like it'd been sitting out too long, and the drink was really sugary and gross- not at all fruity. I will not order smoothies or teas from here again- I'll just stick to Joy Yee.

I'm a simple girl who grew up in a city known for baseball, toasted ravs, gooey butter cake, that giant inverted catenary some call the Arch and homemade frozen custard commanding lines the length of a football field. My go-to concrete flavor at Ted Drewes? Marshmallow - forget chocolate, swirls, sprinkles or other edible dazzlers - just plain marshmallow. So imagine my excitement when I quickly eyeballed Chill Bubble Tea on my way out of Woodfield mall and noticed the Marshmallow Puff flavor bubble tea sign. Fine: for this, I can endure another two minutes in the shopping hell (yes, hell) of fame. The sweet, mildly rich concoction didn't stand a chance. By the time I reached the Des Plaines Oasis, it was all gone... I struggled to coax the remnants from the cup but cheap engineering put a premature end to the cause. Ahh... what we had, it was good while it lasted! Marshmallow. Can you believe it? I'm still shaking my head.
(4)Robyn C.
I love Milk Tea Tapioca ... 'nuff said I absolutely despise the idea of going to Woodfield Mall, but no one else does Milk Tea and when I am craving it, I will actually haul my butt to the mall, park, walk in and order my drink and I leave!! Seriously ... try the milk tea ... it's on the sweeter side, but so yummy!! It's 4 stars because it's in the mall (did I mention I hate Woodfield Mall)??
(4)Gerry A.
Refreshing change. Small walkup window between Macy's and Jacque Penney (come in through Cheesecake/Ruby Tuesdays door). I had never had bubble tea IN the country and of course we manage to make them an even bigger sugar bomb than they need to be as a smoothie. Just get a simple coconut bubble tea and you get some ice, tapioca and still plenty of sugar water with fake coconut flavor. If you have to go smoothie go mango since it is at least REAL mango. Split one with someone you love or an attractive stranger.
(3)Bre H.
Tons of different choices, real fruit, and friendly service! I'll be back!!
(5)Anna L.
I have stopped by Chill Bubble Tea a couple times. I am a vegan so I just got the loose leaf tea. I got the jasmine green which is a green tea blended with jasmine petals. I enjoyed the tea and would have it again. I've also had the New England Cranberry which was pretty good, but not my favorite. I had no problems with service and the atmosphere was nice. I would recommend checking Chill Bubble Tea out for good tea.
(5)Amber S.
When we were first dating, my husband and I would share a cool blue raspberry w/ extra tapioca. The Stratford mall location was closest to us, but sadly, it closed(like almost everything else at that mall). Luckily we can still go to this location. Ah, memories.
(5)Jacki A.
I love bubble tea and I order a large mango every time. I have not had a bad experience here. Pricey, yes. But I love treating myself with this.
(5)Ashok M.
Big fan of Tapioca Milk tea. I love the taste of Honey Dew Milk tea with Tapioca...This place is awesome
(5)R A.
just left there and it was an awfull experience. First the snotty girl behind the counter said she is not open untill 11am (it was 1057). then at 11 she rolled her eyes and said what do you want. then she interupted me and said there was no tapioca until 1130. then i said i dont need the tapioca and would like a kiwi strawberry bubble tea. she looks at me like should know this and said we have no strawberrys. what kind of business is that. not prepared to do business. i will go to their competitors from now on. what lousy customer service.
(1)Tricia Mia P.
This bubble tea is gross. It tastes so artificial. I will take joy yee's bubble tea over this one any day!
(1)Thomas L.
The tapioca pearls are like little bits of happiness. The strange girl who works there, and you know who I am talking about is odd but I can deal. Why does she find it neccesary to ask me everytime if i want tapioca, of course I do. This place has become a mall ritual for me.
(4)Y K.
My wife is a big fan of bubble tea so we tried this place when we went to Woodfield Mall. We ordered 2 large and 1 original (small) bubble tea, however, we ended up getting 3 small bubble teas. The guy who made bubble teas were insisting that we ordered small ones, however, he was not the one who took our order and it was because of the communication between the cashier and the guy. And the taste of the milk bubble tea was mediocre. The milk bubble tea was a slush type, so if you are a fan of a real milk bubble tea in liquid type, you should make it sure before the order. Overall, very unpleasant experience.
(1)Vee S.
I come here every week. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is the ridiculous service that's offered here. The coconut, vanilla, and mango pineapple teas with tapioca are delicious even though, i agree with others, sometimes the tapioca is a bit frozen. As far as the service, there's always just one person during weekdays, usually young with no people skills. One in particular is a young girl covered in hickeys who gives me my total before finishing my order. If they hired some friendly workers who are dedicated to giving good and fast service, they'd be getting five stars. I've only had one person give me great service, and he's about 20 and very well mannered and quick to do things. Hopefully, the managers consider finding some more appropriate workers.

After my first bubble tea experience years ago in San Francisco I was on a mission to find a bubble tea place in Chicago without having to haul myself to Chinatown. I was pretty excited to find out at Woodfield...especially since it is about 8 minutes away from my house! I have managed to make it to Woodfield once a week for this delicious smoothie treat. You can get your drink in almost any flavor with or without tapioca. If you like coconut you will really enjoy this flavor. I've tried the watermelon and it's not really my fav. It tastes like a jolly rancher...kinda too sweet for my liking. I have found a new addiction and don't mind telling everyone how wonderful it is. Thanks to groupon I manage to snag a large for only $3 bucks! And they have a "rewards" card. Buy 6, get the 7th free! Next week I shall try strawberry.
(5)Nadeem P.
Stopped by here on my way into the mall as I was parched and needed some sustenance. Ordered some smoothie that was orange flavored, I think it was called a starburst or something to that extent. I also got lychee jelly in the smoothie. While it was good, it was VERY heavy and more filling than refreshing. Similar to what you'll find in Chinatown, just more americanized...
(3)April P.
I was pretty skeptical about this place and their boba because (1) I'm from SoCal so I'm pretty picky about my boba (tapioca pearls) and (2) I failed to find a boba spot while I was the city. My nephews and I bumped into this spot during a random afternoon trip to Woodfield Mall. We were pretty excited since finding a boba spot is like finding a needle in a haystack out there. The quality was surprisingly good. Maybe it's because I'm not used to having fresh, quality ingredients being used. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but for the quality it's very worth it. The options on their menu are pretty basic but they make it work. I was reading through some of the other reviews and people have complained about them being understaffed. My visit was in late-July/early-August so I'm not sure if it was because it was a busy day at the mall or because they actually improved in that area.
(4)Chris W.
I hate coming here and forgetting the most important thing... THEY DON'T TAKE THE STAMP CARD HERE!! Also, the past two times I've been here there's been something off about their particular bubble tea. The worst of which has been last time which has been that the bubble tea was not at all frozen, it was all just a liquid mush that was lacking on its normal flavor. And with the little plastic thing on the top you don't get as much product as you would if you would go to another establishment with a cap. I know that people are raving here, but if you haven't experienced Chill at other locations you can't see what you're missing! They always seem to be really lacking SOMETHING at this location, and I suppose it's because it's IN a mall base, rather than at the Village Crossing location for example in Skokie which is in a strip mall but still its own standing business. It's nice that they have one of these in the mall though.
(2)Amy C.
I love bubble tea and this is one of the few that I've tried in the Chicagoland area. The milk tea with tapioca is pretty good but it's also pretty sweet. I think I got the vanilla last time too with tapioca and it was on the sweet side too. Next time I go, will probably have to ask them to chill on the chill bubble tea sugar.

This was nothing I was "hooked on" but it was good for the groupon now price which I got for $3 for $6 worth of drinks. We opted for the pina colada and mango fresh fruit smoothies. I like the mango better, but my husband like his pina colada better, which was fine with me. I tried the bubbles and I don't think they have much of a taste, but they are still good.... Overall I thought it was a good deal for the price I paid for!

According to Yelp, a 4-star rating says "I'm a fan!" Rightfully so, because I am a big fan of bubble tea, and any place that sells bubble tea better expect to see my glowing happy smiling face very soon, because that'll be the siren song. And any place that sells bubble tea, I am a fan of, fair and square. About this place though, the guy who took my order of Taro bubble tea was so nice and courteous. He really made me feel welcome. I purchased a small taro bubble tea which cost me about $3.80 or something like that thanks to the little blue booklet, the Passport to Savings, that the mall offers. I got 10% off my bubble tea purchase, but nevertheless, if I had to pay 10% more than the original price, it wouldn't have made me change my mind on it. Bubble tea is bait for me. Next time I return to Woodfield, which may be sometime in October, I'm hitting this place. No doubt about that one.

I'm not going to lie, I come here pretty often, but that's only because of lack of any other place I really want to go to for a drink in the mall. The tapioca is always awkwardly small and bland, it's only redeeming factor is that it's nice and chewy and not mushy, however, their actual drinks are terrible. I've ordered a fruit smoothie a couple times and they always put in way too much fruit so it comes out super tart. It sounds weird to hear that they put too much fruit, but a fruit smoothie should just be a little fruit and ice and maybe milk depending on the fruit, but they cram so much fruit in it the flavor is too strong and sour. Another drink I like is milk tea, except the milk tea here makes me sick. I keep ordering it since i just love the actual taste of milk tea, but here they make it so sweet I can't even taste it sometimes. Not only that, but it's so inconsistent. Sometimes my milk tea is really sweet, and sometimes not so much, but its annoying since all I want is to have it either be consistently ok or consistently bad since I don't like playing guessing games when I eat.

This location is either a hit or miss. Sometimes you have a good experience and other times not so much. The bubble tea is fairly good and they have a good selection of flavors to choose from. Flavors such as chai tea, strawberry, coconut, etc. However, the problem I have found with this location is that they constantly run out of tapioca pearls.

I saw this place as I was walking through Woodfield mall. I've seen other places advertise bubble tea but I had no idea what it was. I'm still not sure that I do. I told the guy working there I had no idea what bubble tea was. He asked if there was a particular flavor I liked. Being a strawberry addict, that was easy. What I got a strawberry icee with some chewey nuggets of tapioca at the bottom. I'm still not clear on where the tea comes in to this. Confusion aside, it was very strawberryey and tasted pretty good, although a bit on the sweet side. The tapioca - I'm still not sure. Not really any flavor. Just a chewey bit of goo. I still just don't get it. Overall it was pretty good, but I just don't get it. I guess I need to try one somewhere else to see if that helps me understand it.

The bubbles are frozen. The girl that worked there told me that they use a non-dairy powder milk substitute for the blended drinks. I thought that was gross but maybe normal for bubble tea places since she was so honest about the answer. So I opted for the fresh fruit smoothie and they actually used real fruit (hence the name). Not bad but nothing great. Ba Le in Argyle has much better fresh fruit bubble tea.

The bubble tea here is really good. I got the watermelon and although it is kind of expensive I will definitely be back.

It's 11:15am on Thursday morning. My wife and I have a long drive ahead home and we decided to make an out of the way stop here to get a bubble tea. Guess what? Whoever works there decides to leave the post! There was no one there! My wife and I were in a rush and I waited 10 mins. Still no one. This is hilarious. A business with no one running it. Sure is a good way to make sure you get to return business.

Ok, I don't get the whole name/incorrect grammar thing, "Chill Bubble Tea"...one star deducted for that. =P While there are a variety of malls me and my gf can stop by to shop, we often come to Woodfield just so we can swing by here and grab some drinks. I have yet to have a bad one yet. The strawberry/banana bubble tea is great, although lately I have been getting the milk tea which brings back some childhood memories. I definitely have to say the quality of ingredients is the best yet, they use nothing but real and fresh fruits. Also, their tapicoa is the best I've had. I have to agree with Misty S., bad tapioca ruins the bubble tea experience and I've never had a bad pearl here. It's so good here we've been tempted to just buy a cup of tapioca! =P All in all this is a great place to swing by if you're at the mall and grab a great drink. Make sure to ask for Adam, he's been great!

Very tasty, but pricey for what you're getting. I got the small size coconut bubble tea with tapioca. They have 2 sizes to choose from. Small ($3.50 for any traditional flavors; $3.95 for same size in any fresh fruit or personalized flavors) Mine was $3.50 before tax. You can see them make it right in front of you basically. The girl filled half the glass with tapioca, then the blender was mostly ice with a little coconut milk and I think frozen coconut meat, then blended like a delicious smoothie. The drink was fantastic! However, there was more tapioca than I would've wanted and every sip involved 5 or more giant balls of tapioca to chew on. The small size is plenty, but I could probably make this drink at home and get a lot more of it for the same price. But then again, I'm stingy with my money.

Very delicious bubble tea. Chill uses really fruit for their shakes. Get the mango. Also, even though the name is "Chill Bubble Tea," they still ask you if you want the tapioca (pearls) with the drink. Tell them, "YES!" The pearls are great! It's a bit pricey though since the mango one cost me $4.39 for a small. I still think that it's worth it!

so good!!! so so good!!! we had the pina colada one and loved it so so much! wish they'd open more branches. it's so good!

Stopped by here to get a mango bubble tea fix. Cost for a large was close to $5. Tapioca was decent, but the fruit smoothie itself was pretty bland. Too bad Woodfield. I guess I will stick with getting iced drinks from Starbucks...

I was running errands at Woodfield last night and saw Chill when I first arrived and I was so excited having just recently found bubble tea. After my errands, I stopped there and ordered a mango tea with extra tapioca pearls. I was pretty grossed out by the consistency of the pearls at first-they were really mushy. I had to spit them out in the parking lot because it was so nasty. After a while, the coldness of the tea hardened them a little and they were decent then, I guess this is what I get for getting bubble tea from the mall. From now on, I'll take my chances elsewhere.

I've had much better bubble tea elsewhere, but this is close to work for me, so when I need a fix, I come here. I'm pretty much fine with settling for an only average product, but the service could really use improvement. I completely understand hating your job, but try not act like it. And when someone says "thank you," you say "you're welcome." Boo to you for not making eye contact once during our entire transaction this afternoon.

As far as Bubble Tea goes, this place is pretty average. They do use fresh fruit so that's always a bonus. None of that powder junk here. It's not nearly as good as you'd get at Joy Yee's as the options at Chill are pretty basic. If you're at the mall and you need a fix this will do the trick.

I love this little spot in Woodfield. I work right across the street and it has become a ritual for me to go there on Tuesdays for the Special! I stick with the Green Tea. I have tried a few of the fruit ones and they are kind of like slushies with tapioca in them. The Milk Tea is pretty good too but beware it is really sweet. I can't imagine getting any of them without Tapioca (It is called Bubble Tea for a reason). The service does suck sometimes because they are under staffed or cleaning stuff in the back. I agree with Misty that I they need a bell to get their attention. If you are in Woodfield I recommend making a stop if you can get someone's attention

I actually went to another Chill Bubble Tea before on dempster (unwillingly).....and somehow i also showed up at the one in woodfield (also unwillingly).......however, i was surprised. The green tea latte is pretty good.....well really good actually, even in comparison to the one on dempster for some reason. Clean place, fast/friendly service (rare for these types of places). If i'm in the area i'd definitely go back and see what else they have to offer.

My thoughts? Eh, it sufficed for the bubble tea addict in me. I had the Purple Oreo and the Tiramisu. The Purple Oreo was just a basic taro bubble tea. There didn't seem to be anything "Oreo" about it. I mean it was good and all, I like taro bubble tea, but I didn't see what made it Oreo. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious! I wish more places had that flavor. The tapioca pearls were cooked well, but were completely flavorless. Other places I've been to have somewhat sweetened pearls, but this tasted like absolutely nothing, making it odd to chew on. That's not even to mention how incredibly stingy they were with the tapioca. There was barely any in my drinks. If not for the delicious tiramisu and taro (because I'm still trying to figure out the Oreo part...and yes, I'm well aware of what purple Oreo is supposed to be), this would only get two stars. The customer service was pretty poor. My first visit, I attempted to get both drinks together. One thing about me and bubble tea: I never order just one drink. Here's how the conversation went: Me: I'd like a large Purple Oreo with tapioca and... Guy behind counter: $4.31! Me: Um...ok... Yep, he actually interrupted me to practically shout the price at me with a look that made it clear there wasn't going to be anything other than the one drink. Ok then. I actually went back later that night as I was determined to get the tiramisu. I walked up to the counter only to be "greeted" by a clearly unhappy young woman who just stared at me. I ordered a tiramisu bubble tea. The response... "Do you want tapioca in it?" Um, well, that's what the BUBBLE part of bubble tea is, so yes I do. It was pretty much thrust at me once it was done being made. She and the other girl there just looked incredibly uphappy, borderline annoyed/upset at having to be there. What an odd experience with rude employees. The place was also pricey. The $4.31 for the large purple oreo...a dollar more for the same size tiramisu. Not really sure why it was more expensive. Maybe I am just used to the place by me that uses much better ingredients, has only one size (Chill's size large), and sells it for under $4. Overall...eh.

I was so upset by this place. It is not at all what I expected. I asked for a green milk tea and the girl looked at me like I was speaking a different language. She did not understand what a green milk tea was. I tried to explain that it is just milk tea but with green tea. She then said, "I can mix the milk tea and green tea flavors if you want." They don't even brew the tea!! All of the flavors are just powders that they mix and match to make "milk tea." I was so disappointed. Even so, I went ahead and bought the green/milk tea concoction and an orange cream smoothie, both with boba. I spent $8 on powdered drinks. Way too pricey for a drink that isn't even made properly. The way they prepared it was wrong, as they put the tapioca/boba on top of the ice. My green/milk tea was almost brown in color, too sweet, and thick like a smoothie. I was not happy at all. I threw it out after about 3 sips. The orange cream smoothie tasted just as bad in its own way. This place needs to learn how to make bubble tea. I've had it all over the country, and in Asia, and this is definitely not how it is supposed to be made/taste.

So disappointed :-( I love tea, but I think i will pass on bubble tea. I was on my way out of the mall and noticed this cute little spot. I got so excited with all of the different varieties of tea. I was especially excited when I saw they offered Watermelon bubble tea. I must say maybe since I'm not experienced with "bubble" tea I was expecting the wrong thing. But the tea didn't have a strong watermelon taste, actually it reminded me of a vanilla milkshake with a hint of watermelon. Also, this drink wasn't cheap I know I paid almost $5. Oh well, you live and learn.

The bubble tea here is great. Not the best I have had but it's convenient while you are shopping. I would give it more stars but the service is pretty horrible.
