Restaurant was empty so we were worried that food/service would not be good but both were great!

Stopped in today for lunch with my boss and a coworker. It is pretty much just another in a long line of gastropub chain clones that all of us have seen renditions of ad nauseam. If you have visited enough of these types of places (TGI Fridays, Chili's, Applebee's, etc.) then you can probably guess what they serve without even having to open the menu. Not to say that the food here was bad, as I liked the potato soup and the burger, it is just that it's so familiar and boring to me. Most of the time I get fairly detailed in the reviews I pen here on Yelp, but in this instance, there is not much more to really say.

I visited Champps on a weekend for an early dinner with my daughter and the place was packed. There were tons of people standing around waiting for a table, but luckily for us a spot at the bar just opened up so we were able to grab it and sit right away. The chair was uncomfortable, but at least I didn't have to wait too long to eat. The bartender was very attentive and took care of us right away. I had eaten like a pig all week so I was looking for something on the lighter side. Champps has a few items on their menu that are less than 650 calories so I ordered the fish tacos. My daughter had the burger that came with a basket of fries. Both entrees tasted good but were nothing special. Champps is a typical sports bar with lots of seating, but gets really packed on the weekends (as do most places in Schaumburg). Try to grab a seat at the bar if you can to avoid the long wait times.

Appears to be under new management? Whatever the cause they are raising prices and limiting selection. There was a drink special on the new "beer sheet" but when we ordered the $2 draft we were told it's now $3 (despite being on all ads as $2. ) Also despite beers being crossed off the draught list, the one we ordered we were told had been replaced by...another beer already on the list!? Lastly despite there being steak tacos on the menu, I was told it would be "impossible" to make one single steak taco for my daughter. No discussion of price, sides, etc--just "impossible". After years of coming here, I'd say the recent changes are for the worse! To top it off the bathroom stall didn't lock. Trying to save money??

Food service was slow. 30 min to get a meal and they were not busy. Bathrooms were awful. Smelled of swamp gas as soon as you went in.

I'm a fan of this place but it's not screaming 5 stars, so 4 does it. I never go here by choice. It's always a meetup spot for a few friends since Schaumburg is a pretty central location. A few of us stopped in on a Thursday night and lucky for us, all pints were $2. That's a great deal, especially since it included any domestic or import, as long as it was on draft. After a few drinks at the bar, we headed over to our table. Our waitress was pretty attentive, we drank for a while then finally ordered. Our food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. The grilled cheese was awesome; it's everything you could want on cheese. Bacon, an egg.....I can't really think of what else but isn't that good enough? Waffle fries are hands down my fav type of fry and the only way to make them better is out of sweet potatoes. They were unbelievable. It was one of those things where I wanted everyone to taste them, but I didn't want to share, but they were so good that I had to share. It was one of those moments. We stayed for a while longer and the waitress did a good job of keeping the drinks filled. It'll definitely continue to be our go-to when meeting up in the area.

It's great to come here with friends and watch the games because there are TVs everywhere! I feel like the food doesn't taste as good as they charge you. Fries are definitely not that great. None of the veggies in our group liked their food, so I guess it's not a veggie place. We got the Nachos for appetizers and those actually tasted better than my food (good for veggies). If you order the huge nacho dish, you can share it with a group of 7-8 people easily. We came in as a group of 12 and they had to combine a circle table with a small square table, which wasn't that big of a deal but just know that it could happen if you come in with a big group.

Most of my reviews are 1 star or 5 star reviews. Either I had a horrible experience, or I had an experience that was above and beyond amazing. I am giving champs 4 stars because as it says when I clicked on 4 stars, 4 stars means 'Yay! I'm a fan'. I guess I am a fan, because I visit this restaurant usually at least a few times a year. I frequent lots of restaurnts in my area, so a few times a year means I like it enough to keep going back! I am not a big fan of their mixed bar drinks; the margharitta I had there was just horrible. But, their other drinks are fine, and their food is good, and the price isn't bad at all. I usually go here when I am in the mood for chicken quesadillas. They give a nice huge portion for a good price. I usually eat half, and bring half home. They are delicious! I have tried many of their other food items in the past as well, and as far as I can remember, all of it was good, I don't remember ever having a bad meal. But, over time, this place just became the place I go when I want those chicken quesadillas :) Stop in and try them out... you don't have to order the quesadillas lol, try anything, their bergers are pretty good too!

First visit, Robert made a feeble attempt at being a waiter. Rarely did we see him...reminded him that we ordered drinks...10 minutes ago. Ordered Chopped Salad, got Cobb Salad, and this was after hunting him down to ask why our food order was taking so long. He didn't apologize but rather told me that "Cobb Salad is basically the same as Chopped Salad."...NOT. Went back with husband a month later (guess I don't learn from my mistakes). We were seated and who walks up to our table? Robert. Ordered two beers...10 minutes later we were still staring at two beers sitting on the bar counter and wondered what was keeping Robert so busy that he couldn't bring our beers to us. Again, he was barely attentive and the place was empty. He overcharged us for the beer (which the manager adjusted). At least he didn't mess up the food order this time. WE WON'T BE BACK. Way better choices in the immediate area.

Me and my boyfriend went on a Friday night and it started out great. Beers came right on time, waiter was always attentive and it seemed like everything was going just fine. I ordered a steak dish that came with mashed potatoes and some vegetables. I started to eat it and though it tasted a bit off but nonetheless I was having a good time so I thought it might just be me. I was full after eating about half the dish so my boyfriend finished off the rest for me. We came home and felt a bit sick to the stomach but we figured it was because we had drank a couple beers but when the middle of the night came, we both knew it wasn't the beer. We started to throw up uncontrollably and diarrhea like mad. I still tried to go to work in the morning but I was throwing up too much to last my 8 hour work day. I went home after 2 hours of working while throwing up. My boyfriend and I both stayed home for two days after that because we could barely drink water without throwing up. This was food poisoning without a doubt. We looked online to see if they had a customer service number that we could call but shadily enough they had no number on their website. So we called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager but we were put on hold and hung up on. So we called again and asked them to transfer us to their headquarters. They gave us a number that we tried calling but no answer yet again. A week later my boyfriend was talking to his coworker who apparently had a friend that went to Champps on the same day as us and oddly enough also suffered from food poisioning for a couple days. Apparently the mashed potatoes were the problem. I will never go back to that restaurant again. Although they have very reasonably priced food and wonderful servers, I would rather have a healthy stomach and not be throwing up my innards for two days. It's just not worth it and its shady that they don't have a customer service line on their website given that they are a chain restaurant corporation. Be wary of their food.

I've been staying in a hotel behind Champps for two weeks and I finally paid it a visit last night! I'm so angry that I waited so long! $5 apps until 6pm (its starts back up later, not sure what time) and they had $4.50 margaritas. It was a Wednesday night so I'm sure their drink specials change. Anyway, I ordered the wings and spinach dip and I was very pleased, shocked actually. I wasnt expecting the food to be that good! The sauce on the wings was delicious (I ordered half hot honey/garlic parmesan). Adam at the bar was GREAT! He really did a great job. The drink was delicious, but not strong at all. One star taken for the weak drink and a scrawny, meatless wing that was put on my plate. The music was also really loud. For no reason. Minor ish, but important! Actually headed back there again for some wings now.

Can't review this place low enough in my opinion. The food here is totally unimaginative. The service is ok, but this is not a redeeming quality by any means. I don't appreciate frozen food in any form and your food is unfortunately not an exception to this rule. This place sounds good in concept, but it really just ends up being Applebee's under the guise of a sports bar. Not coming back any time soon.

I am occasionally in the area and love to come here. Four of us went yesterday for a late lunch. Our server was a tall man with black hair. Our drinks took a bit longer than usual but he explained that the bartender was training so we understood. I ordered the cobb salad which is my favorite item on the menu! It was fantastic as usual. My husband ordered a burger and sweet frys. The server brought over what was his favorite dipping sauce for the frys without us asking. We loved it. The server went above and beyond expectations and provided phenomenal customer service!

first time I went here was to watch a UFC fight. Didn't take long to get a table. As we sat and watch the fights, I ordered my food. Practically a burger with fries. Unbeknownst to me, my fries were waffle fries, covered in cheese. All I can say is that night, I fell in love with waffle fries. I never knew they were that good. Especially with the melted cheese. The next time went back, I thought I had ordered the same thing. Turns out I didn't. Oops. Place can get a little crowded considering its location. But I think it's worth going to. I recommend it for those who want to try something new.

This is a typical Sports Bar" with a few better ideas for the today's customer. If you actually eat here, they will let you choose from 9 different sides for the average sandwich or entree - not just "fries or chips". No extra charge for a salad or Onion Rings here. Beer drinkers get a break on Tuesdays and Thursdays with deep discounts on Draft pints. The food items we had were quite good, the service at Lunch was just fine. As a benefit, the good wifi has no stupid sign in!

I was very impressed when i came here. Pretty packed but only waited 10 minutes for a booth. The food was so delicious. And the drinks had me tipsy. The waitress was very kind and welcoming. I'd definetly come back to this place.

I really enjoyed Champps late night appetizer menu. BTW Champps, change the spelling, I had a bitch of a time finding you on Yelp. Our flight touched down around 9:30 pm and it was about a 45 minute drive to our hotel. I was amazed at all of the places that closed down by 10 pm. My daughter mentioned Champps since our hotel didn't know of anything. So we called Champps for their awesome directions. The bar manager was expecting us and took care of us with a nice table in the bar. My wife and I feasted on the chicken flatbread, these gigantic Mongolian Egg Rolls and Kobe Sliders. All the food was outstanding. My favorite had to be the Kobe Sliders. I washed down the eggs rolls with their spicy sauce, yum. The flatbread was excellent as well. We had left overs and only paid $5 an app. The bartender serving us has some people skills and I'm sure he rakes in the tips. The tunes they played were awesome, Talking Heads, Springsteen, etc. We were basically the last people out of there that night. I found out that Schaumburg doesn't party on Wednesdays. I would definitely return to Champps for some late nite eats and drinks.

Just finished lunch...I feel sick. The presentation and service was good. I had a bun less double burger with grilled veggies. Why I didn't return the burger is beyond me. I was hungry! But the burger was room temp and bloody. So bloody and rare it left a puddle. They didn't ask what temp I wanted the burger but I figured since their menu has a raw food warning, that it would be at least medium well. Nope! Not sure I feel sick from the food or from over thinking it. Now mind you, I take all my meat cuts medium rare except for burgers since the chance of food poisoning is higher in ground beef. I'll be praying my stomach is stronger than any food bugs! I do come here regularly...but this one will keep me away for a while!

Came here on a Sunday for lunch. We came just around noon to catch the 1st half of the Bears game. This place was pretty busy and they had all of the games on. They made sure to seat us in a spot where we would be able to see the game we wanted. The wife and I picked out probably the five most random things to have this day. Together we had the Chicken Caesar Salad, Seared Ahi Tuna, a Bud Light, Bloody Mary, and a Mile High Pie. Talk about confused. Everything above was pretty much standard and I would say we had no complaints. The bloody Mary bar had finger food and all the extras that you would want to add to your drink. Overall, it was decent and I would consider coming back to watch another game and have a bite to eat.

I used to frequent the Champps in skokie before they shut it down. (Still upset about that) I had no idea there was one in Schaumburg till I happened to pass it awhile back. Last time my server was a guy with glasses who was a rockstar so when the girlfriend and I went back we asked for him. Unfortunately the host told us he no longer worked there so we sat at the bar. Service was great our bartender Skyler was super attentive. I've always really liked the food they serve but the last time I went in the menu was a fraction of what it was when I would go into the skokie location. So you can imagine how happy I was when they added back the chipotle burger. Unfortunately the rumors are this one won't be here much longer either so I'm gonna have to make that trip out before its gone.

What is happening to the Industry of "Hospitality " the Word has been taking as mythology or ideology ! No place has offer 100 service, dedication or reading the guest . You can see all tables in attended bar people waiting for drink looking and searching for a bartender "bartender" . Most of the bars have closed cause the "hospitality" culture is gone ! The basics of Service is gone .. The principals of attention are gone

I came here with low expectations, yet Champps managed to shatter them and flush them down the toilet. There were a ton a kids running around, like we were at Chuck E. Cheese. The food was frozen, and frankly, quite gross. At one point the server, who stood uncomfortably close to my girlfriend and I while he snuck peaks down her shirt, knocked a chicken finger off my plate while putting drinks on the table, then instinctively picked it up and put it back on my plate. If they're ok with handling my food on the dining floor with this kind of gross behavior, then who knows what standards (if any) they have in the kitchen. Anyone, once this happened, I was done. Yes, they have a bunch of sports on, but not even that could save my experience. I won't be coming back. If you want to watch a bunch of sports and eat, hit up a BWW. Avoid Champps... it's probably a reason the french can't stand american cuisine.

The new menu is severely lacking...!! Nothing on the new menu tempted me, and I ended up fairly disappointed. I used to have favorite menu items, that I would order when my coworkers and I would go there for lunch, I'd order them to take home for dinner as well. I went today with a coworker and had spent quite a bit of time trying to find something similar to tickle my palate, no luck.. I ended up with fish & chips which was just...... average. I was really looking forward to my favorite dish. However, If you like Americana things like Kung-pao, and gyros. Not sure if I'd noticed if they had Gyros before, but they do now! (left me wondering...Americana??) They do have the basic sandwiches and a few burger options, steak, and salads. The service was excellent, polite and attentive. No knocks on the waitress and service. Just the new menu. Sadly, I probably won't be going back there anymore. I can get the basic fare anywhere else.

Monday Happy Hour specials are a great deal for those that have a reverse commute and need a place to wait out traffic or catch the game. The decor is somewhat of a throwback to the 90's and I'm not sure whether that was by design....Hot Tub Time Machine meets 90's Chicago Sports: MJ, Pippen, Mike Ditka, Refrigerator Perry, Ryne Sandberg, Jeremy Roenick. That's what their business model should be: unlimited highlight reels of Bulls and Blackhawks playing a la 90's, $1 Drafts, and unlimited waffle fries and Queso. The happiest hour ever for male Chicago sports fans in their late thirties.

I was very IMPRESSED! Not only with the wonderful service, but with the Manager JOSH! He was so friendly, and such a great people person! My roommate and I went there last night for a late dinner and drinks. She is allergic to sulfites and they were VERY accommodating! They were so concerned, and they were willing to learn all about it. They brought over a few different bottles to let her read up on the labs. The bartenders where on a different level of Awesome! ADAM was a wonderful server when he took over our table! His energy and personality is one of a kind, he's a riot! BRYAN was very concerned with the sulfates issues and he came over to our table and presented his concern, we thought he was the manager. it isn't every day that you get a concerned bartender who takes the time to come over to your table, and show his concern. Champps has really come along way, especially since we are so use to going to the Champps in Lincolnshire. I was never impressed. My experience last night was Amazing and we will most definitely go back! The friendly staff and amazing management really made our night! We both are servers and we know what to expect. Thank you Champps for a great night out!!

Really bad experience here a couple weeks ago with my family. Took the server 10 minutes to even greet us, got my order wrong and my fiance, never asked how the food was, took forever for a refill on our drinks and then we were still eating just taking a break for a minute and he took out plates away! Just an overall bad experience will not be coming back. Wish I could find the receipt to know the server name! Shame really enjoy the food.

So Champps is our go to place if we don't really have a taste for anything but want good service and solid food. We always get a table quite fast..the most we've had to wait was probably 10 minutes, if that! There is PLENTY of seating there, very large location! I am one of those eaters that chooses the same thing every time and each restaurant I go to...I know what I like!!! This time, I decided to try something different! (woohoo!) I ordered the tortellini, which was DELICIOUS!!!! The hubby ordered the fish and chips which was very scrumptious as well! I normally order one of their ginormous salads (seriously 2 people can share it easily!). My hubby normally gets the Philly cheese steak (I'm not a big meat eater, but it is GOOD) or a burger, which he enjoys normally as well. The service is always pretty solid as well. I love how the manager goes around to the tables to make sure everything was good for his customers! sign up for their reward/email program and you will get some good deals and coupons! We love Champps!

It's a lunch place and sometimes the service is spotty. We ordered salads with out dressing and the salads came dressed. The remade the salads but it took a while. The food quality is good but frustrating to have to wait when you are on a lunch hour.

Love this Champp's ! I will surely miss it when I leave town! The turkey burgers and nice looking bartenders are a plus!;) I came back to watch the Mayweather vs Canelo fight and had a blast! I've never seen a Champp's jump like this! I went to OSU and the Champp's by campus gets very crowded during games, but not like this! It was like being in a nightclub ! Ha!

Inconsistent....that about describes what this bar is. Constant menu changes...average to poor management tactics....nothing on the menu that drives someone in! My wife , kids and I like to watch football and hockey games making Champs a good venue. The Champs dining experience is like a box of chocolates..you never know what you are going to get! I would and will be back to watch a game and have fries and beer!

I'm a little surprise this place only has 3 stars. I am always happy when I come here. Great wraps (chicken ranch, and California turkey) and sandwiches (buffalo chicken, chicken salad, and parmesan crusted chicken if you are really hungry), and service is normally pretty good. Great Happy hour specials (1/2 off apps) and week night food specials like $5 burger night, I recommend the quesadillas, boneless buffalo wings (blue cheese dressing), and kobe sliders at happy hour. But make sure you are sitting in the bar otherwise you pay full price. Small side note - try the chips, they are better than the fries in my opinion.

Terrible place. Don't ever go. I went to dinner with my wife last week hoping to have a good time. The server greeted us in a timely manner and while she was talking to us the lights were dimmed extremely low. The lights were so low that tables were taking out their iphone flashlight apps to view their menus. My wife and I were fed up by how ridiculous this looked and asked to speak to a manager. When I asked the manager, Tony, if the lights could be turned up a bit more so no one had to take out a flashlight to use the menu, he laughed in my face. He rudely replied that it was the ambiance of the restaurant and he didn't care if people had to use their flashlights. He made me and my wife feel as if we were crazy for even considering complaining that we couldnt see the menu that we were trying to order off of. I ended up being so fed up by the lack of respect from Tony that we got up and walked out of the restaurant. Don't EVER go here unless you want to deal with disrespectful management, lights so low you can't read the menu, and music so loud that you can't hear the person next to you. Stop trying to be a bar champps, it's never going to happen.

I was here last week for a late dinner - first time in a few years and some of the wear is starting to show. I ordered a burger and it was OK. Requested it medium rare and it came out medium. Waffle fries were good. Service was OK. Good place to watch sports - other than that it's just another sports bar. Wish there was more to say, but there's not.

I worked in and around Schaumburg for 20 years and don't believe that I ever had lunch at 12:00 noon, so I cringed when an old friend said meet me here at high noon on a FRIDAY yet, and let's catch up. But Champps was fine, even good and now I'm a fan because Champps is more of an after work bar than a crowded lunch haunt, and our server Sam rocked our lunch. I actually arrived on time and we were seated on the top of several very wood on the floor and walls shiny brass levels. Nice large tables for four and no hint of a hunt for tinier tables for two people to try and balance food and drink on. I think we lucked out getting Sam because she handled our indecision with their fairly lengthy menu and a couple extra asks like extra cole slaw and jalapenos with ease. We finally settled on the Bourbanaise and Blue Cheese burger, mine even showing up medium rare as I requested, including straw fries on the burger and tasty waffle fries as a side. Bottomless ice tea arrived smoothly and kept coming as we hung out for two hours catching up and weren't hustled out. Champps has a varied large menu with lots of burger options, sandwiches, large salads and pasta dishes, but the burgers are really a deal imo at $10 with the waffle fries and cole slaw. Great place to come in out of the shopping heat or cold on Golf road and a nice change of pace if you are getting a little tired all that fantastic Asian food in town. Huge parking lot in front and back. Try it. Ask for Sam.

Great place to watch the game! It wasn't too crowded, plenty of seats at the bar. They had tall Bud Light on special, for $3.50 and shorts for $2.50. They also had a bloody mary bar set up. The service was fantastic, Adam and Jen were our bartenders and they were very attentive and extremely friendly! It was only the first game of the season, so I'm sure we'll be back for other games!

Went here for lunch today after some shopping. Walked in and was in awe of all televisions they had here. We sat upstairs and we were surrounded by several televisions. Got our menu and there all these good choices. I got the French dip with waffle fries and my wife got the champs cheeseburger. The service was good the food was very good my French dip was very tasty. We left full and satisfied will go back again for sure.

We went to Champps last night for a work event. They had a back corner sectioned off for us which was nice because we had our own little area the entire night. They had one waitress for our group of 20 which worked fine. Appetizers were brought out quickly to us & we ordered just about everything last night. Their crab bread was interesting...no one knew exactly what it was until we read the description but it had a little kick of spice to it. Their cheese sticks were amazing gooey & greasy & everything good! I had never dipped them in bleu cheese before so I gave that a try last night---phenomenal! I recommend everyone try doing that! =) I've been there for happy hour a few times in the past so I know they have some good drink specials plus all the appetizers are half off. I've had the potato skins & chicken satay in the past...the chicken satay has always not been the most flavorful, slightly dry but I've gotten it more than once so it can't be that bad! The potato skins are super tasty! Now as I've said, I've gone in the past just for happy hours which equates to whatever beer is on tap for me usually. Since last night was a work event, I ventured out into shots of Vegas Bombs and mixed drinks like Cranberry Vodka & Amaretto Sours. I don't know if I've ever had such watered down liquor drinks. They tasted good! But that's because they didn't have much of any liquor in them. A coworker even said that his wife always gets their mixed drinks and they are just like juice.

the pepperjack burger was one of the best burgers i've ever had. granted a burger is a burger: two slabs of cooked to perfection beef, a layer of pepperjack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and all the fixings. The condiments were proportionate to their surrounding ingredient counterparts. It was melded goodness. We opted for the onion rings over the fries. They are hard to describe: they were crisp with a crunchy texture, if that makes any sense. The onions inside were cooked to the perfect sweetness. Our waiter was uber attentive. He made insightful recommendations. Offered to have the burger cut in two, since we only ordered one burger, without us asking. He never asked "would you like another drink?" he just made sure the drinks were full. The best part: as soon as we finished our meal, he offered us dessert and when we said "no, thanks" he brought over our check without us asking. If there is ever such a thing as an executive waiter, this guy was it. The price was a bit high, we were greeted with linen napkins and the burger was $12 and the pop was an outrageous $3. I would compare this place to a cheesecake factory, but with better food; one step above a Ruby Tuesdays or a Bennigan's Champps Americana, makes me proud to be American!

raising one star in rating because visit here late saturday was fine and gave me no particular reason to grumble. two Stellas, a mini-french onion soup plus a gi-normous pretzel among good company. if I never come here again I can say we finished on a nice positive note

Very good "bar" food and a nice draft selection make this a good choice for the area. Downside is that dining room / bar is quite a large area for TVs just on walls. If you looking to watch sports, you'll see it, but angle may suck.

This is one of our favorite places in Schaumburg. Food - I would rate the food an 8 out of 10 on average, as some things on the menu are really good and some are just ok. Our favorites are the bleu cheeseburger, Carolina burger, fish & chips, waffle fries with seasoned sour cream, and the chocolate torte dessert. Items that are just average are the cookie espress, and the mile high ice cream pie (ice cream was good, whipped cream & crust were flavorless). We often get an appetizer but I am not really crazy about any of them in particular. I also have had the chicken pot pie - decent; the roasted beet salad (on a seasonal menu) - a good healthy option; and the nutella waffle ice cream sandwich (again, the seasonal menu) - divine. I also tried the pulled pork sandwich, which was fine in terms of quality, but the flavor of the barbecue sauce was not how I personally like barbecue sauce to taste. Service - One of the best things about this place is the service. I would give it a 10 out of 10. We have been coming here often for a few years and have always had a good experience with the service. We always feel welcome and the waiters and waitresses are always really attentive. I also really like that this place is so big, we almost never have to wait for a table, even on a busy night.

Came here for dinner on a friday night and it was surprisingly not very busy. I got the tortellini Sylvania and it was delicious, and our food arrived very quickly. The only complaint was it took almost a half hour for us to recieve our drinks from the bar. The manager himself came over to apologize and explained the bartender was new. So I appreciated how well the customer service was... would have been cooler if he COMP'd our drinks though! ;)

I came here for Sunday dinner. Bulls' game was on but pretty empty at the restaurant around 6. I had firehouse burger. It had bell peppers, green chiles, Tabasco, onion and don't remember what else. Got it medium well done. This was juicy and yummy burger. Not too spicy. Too big to take a bite. I thought the waffle fries were little too salty but good. Good drink selection and good burger. What more can you ask for!

Met some friends here so we could watch the world's series. We had a fabulous seat right by several tv's with all the sports on. We ordered bbq chicken chopped salad, hamburgers, roasted chicken, steak salad and a pasta dish. Food was delicious. Our waiter was polite and patient with us as we had not seen each other for a while and were talking instead of ordering. All in all we had a great time. Great meeting place. Will go back.

Glad to see we're in agreement Yelp, yes, Champps blows. I'd typically never patronize this weaksauce Schaumburg douchery (my, that does say it all, doesn't it?) unless in a situation where desperate times called for desperate measures. Unfortunately, for me, Saturday afternoon was one of those times. When presented with a 3 hour lull between a wedding ceremony and reception I found myself killing the time here, at Champps Americana. It seemed the best of the worst in terms of options (ahem, Alumni Club. ew.), but I can't imagine things really get much worse than this.... 1. Their air conditioning was broken on a 92 degree day, mid-afternoon. Rather than inform incoming patrons of this, they sat us without a word and let us figure out on our own what a group of adults dressed in wedding attire (i.e. suits and black dresses) soon smell like when surrounded by chicken wings, domestic beer and sonic sweat. 2. The service sucks eggs. Our waitress was slow, sloppy (she, too, was sweaty... can't blame her, but around my food, really?), super forgetful and not the least apologetic about the air situation as we slowly sweltered in our own version of hell. I felt suckered, swindled and then not even taken care of adequately. How many times should I seriously have to remind you to BRING ME MY BEER, Pits? 3. If the service sucks, then the food stinks. It's just not good. My chicken satay that were advertised with a side of Thai peanut sauce came with something green, herby and salty. Eh?! When asked where the peanut sauce was, server lady said that was 'the Champps version of peanut sauce'... Uh huh. So can you give me ketchup and just call that peanut sauce too? It was pretty much the furthest thing than what was described on the menu, but whatev, no sauce was saving those dry poultry suckers anyhow. Other apps of buffalo tenders, spinach artichoke dip and tater skins were equally lackluster... nothing to see here, folks, keep the line movin'! The one redeemer star stands for double cadillac margaritas on the rocks with extra salt and a heavy hand on the Patron. Tasty, indeed. God bless you tequila, you were the only salvation in these oppressive suburban badlands of discontent and for that, I salute you!

This place used to be a steady 'go to' for me several years ago. That ended with my visit on Sunday. I was at Schaumburg's Septemberfest with the family and dinner time was fast approaching. We looked at the food tent and thought about grabbing dinner there, but a light bulb went off in my head and said Champps. I was craving waffle fries (more on this later) and a beer. So to Champps we went. First bad sign: The restaraunt was virtually empty on a Sunday night. Yes, I know it was Labor Day weekend, but to see almost more servers than patrons is never a good sign. Second bad sign: No mention of the waffle fries on the menu (again, more on this later) Third bad sign: The server had to pull out a list of beers on tap and couldn't remember the soup of the day. Tried the bacon cheeseburger which had shrunk from the size they used to be (but not to mention the price was higher by 1-2 dollars) and I got the 'Havana' which was a poor rendition of a cuban sandwich which little to no redeeming qualities. Also had a side of their baked potato soup which was not how I like my baked potato soup (YMMV). Now on to the fries. Champps was always famous for their waffle fries. These fries were one of my favorites around. I literally wanted to go to Champps for these fries. I asked for the waffle fries and the waiter gave me the 'we discontinued these about 6 months ago' I replied with 'This was one of the few reasons I came here' He laughed and said 'You're not the first to tell us this'. And out came some crappy Ore Ida steak fries with my meal. I will never darken their door step again.

Have loved this place for the past 15 years! The servers are usually friendly and get to know you as a regular. I recommend any of their burgers, appetizers, salads, or desserts. My favorite is the Tortellini Sylvina. The only qualm I've had is when the sauce was burnt, which did happen on a few occasions. The problem was always corrected, and I have not had any issues recently.

Champps had THE BEST FRENCH DIP I have ever had! I seriously was so good, and the atmosphere was great! Our server was very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. We were in on a late Saturday afternoon, the crowd was very mellow and were able to watch the football game we had wanted!

Champps pissed me off. It was the NCAA tournament and they reserved tables in the bar, which they're not supposed to do. The manager gave us some BS answer when we tried to sit there. I thought the point of having a large corporate restaurant is to avoid the silly towny shit that goes on at other places.

Sports bar atmosphere; has 1/2 priced apps for happy hour in the bar during the week, with a nice selection of items to choose from. Have also had several full dinners here, and the burgers and salads are both good. I tried the pasta once which was just OK. Drink prices are reasonable, usually under $5 for a tall beer with frequent specials. Good place to meet up with friends after work, and they have lots of large TVs to watch a game.

This Champps brought back memories of the old Champps in the Irvine Spectrum that I used to go to. I have good memories of breakfast at Champps, but have only been able to have lunch a few times at this one. A few observations: The service is good. The staff is relatively attentive, so no complaints here. There are quite a few big screen TVs, and there are many that take advantage to watch sports here. Food is solid. Nothing spectacular, but nothing too bad either. If you're looking for someplace exceptional to eat at, look elsewhere. But if you want to grab a nice casual breakfast, lunch or beer after work and want to watch sports - this isn't a bad place to check out.

I came here years ago and had a great time with a good friend! I don't remember much about the food or drinks, but I remember enjoying it. I came here again for lunch. It was pretty dead inside, so service was pretty good. I just ordered a Caesar salad, which was okay. Nothing special.

We went to Champps for the first half of the bears in hopes that it would be packed and a rooting good fun time! they had 3.50$ bud lights and a bloody mary bar. It had really good queso dip although the place was not packed at all. We had the pleasure of seeing a first blind date that was fun and the bartendar change from bears jersey to ref top- HMMM why the wardrob change? The manager and bartendars were really friendly however I wasn't a fan that some of the girls hairs were not up in a pony tail and one was playing with it over the bar- I think that is disgusting. I have had many times where I have found hair in my food- not here specifically but it should be mandatory if working with food to put it up. Adam the bartendar was really nice very pleasent and thanked us for coming in- that was nice of him. way to go champps-

I had the walnut crusted chicken again last week and it was just as yummy as the first time. Minus one star for the waitress who sat us next to a wall of windows after we specifically asked NOT to be seated by any windows or doors because we were already cold. Needless to say, we were cold the entire time.

I like Champps. It's a place I routinely forget about and then are pleasantly surprised to remember. I used to work fairly close, so we'd come here quit a bit for lunches and occasionally after-work for drinks. The food here is the star and I don't believe I've yet had a meal I've regretted and service is typically top-shelf. It can get a little loud in the main dining room, so it might not be the best "date" place - but for getting together to watch the game or hang out with a group of friends or co-workers, this place is one of the better in the area.

Cmapps Champps and Champps, ok i over did it but still, Good food, huge portions, Good specials Thursdays and Mondays, good looking servers and awesome bar tenders. I like that place, the atmosphere in there is just great, and most sporting events are always running on the massive amount of flat screens they have.

Food is decent but pricey. Pretty good hamburgers and waffle fries. Half price appetizers between 4-7 and $2 pints isn't bad for a Thursday night. Depends on who you get, but the service is below average. May return if I'm in the area...on a Thursday night.

I've been back and forth on this place over the past several years. I've always loved the atmosphere and location. It is a big restaurant with a large bar area and there are MANY flat screen TV's mostly displaying sports all throughout the restaurant. Meals are pricy ($10-$15 per plate) but the portions are huge (as a girl who usually finishes her plate, I always have leftovers here). I'm a fan of the burgers, tuna melts, and the cobb salads. Upgrade to waffle fries - they are awesome. And finish off with the mile-high ice cream pie - great dessert! Service is so-so. Not much more to say than that. Nothing stellar, but they take your order and get you your food. Won't be perfect, though. If you're looking for some good, standard American fare, this is a decent place to go if for nothing else but the TV's (they keep my husband and kids entertained!).

I kind of want to give Champps one star, but it isn't quite deserving of that bad of a review. Food is overpriced and not really good. I didn't much care for their food selection either. This is basically a version of applebees or TGIFs with more TVs. The place was pretty empty for a sportsbar on a Sunday full of football, so I guess that says it all. And the guy announcing scores to us over a microphone was just annoying. Do they not realize that's what all the tv's are for? Not going back if I can help it.

Basic American bistro fare. Food was good, mostly glamourized bar food. The service is good. The staff is relatively attentive. good for large groups. but very loud evenings when the TV are showing sports.

Champps is great because they have a lot of TVs to watch sports on and a large menu that offers choices for everyone. The chopped BBQ chicken salad was one of the better chopped salads I've had at a restaurant. Their portions seem decent to me but I did eat the entire salad which I never do, so they may be a little skimpy for those with bigger appetites. Our waitress was super sweet and really accommodating.

1/2 price apps and cheap beer Thrsdays was the draw for me. Bartender was delightful and beautiful a great combination. Plenty of TV viewing for the sports fans. Good times

Chammp's is another place I used to frequent when working out in the area years ago; either for lunch or post-work drinks. I went recently and found that little has changed, which is a good thing. They have a decent selection of food, a fair amount of beers on tap and tv's at every corner (great for watching whatever game is in season). I also like the open space of the place too, as even if it's crowded, it never seems cramped. Like I said, lot's of menu choices but even so, i'm a creature of habit and usually stick with (starter) 1. Chunky Potato Soup with bacon bits, cheddar cheese and croutons (mains) 2. Cajun Chicken Sandwich 3. Pork BBQ Sandwich 4. Sam Adam's Beer battered Fish & Chips or 5. Chammps Club. All sams come w. waffle cut fries (good) but I often take their seasoned chips, which are some of the best potato chips around. Food rings in at a 4/5 making this chain restaurant one of the better ones out there.

Met a friend at this place for an early dinner on Friday night. The place was huge and empty. The food was good but overpriced for portions and quality. We both had a bowl of their clam chowder...it was great...but the best in Chicagoland is still Glen's Diner. I had a blackend chicken and shrimp salad...the best part of the salad were the seasoned shrimp. I also saw they had waffle frys, those are on my list if I return.

Bland and over priced. Yeah just that simple. I thought I went with a safe bet to get the french dip. Well I was mistaken and for some reason there was mayo on it. WHY???? please why? Not my kind of place and pretty generic.

i hate coming off as a typical city liberal beer snoot, but surburban establishments have such limited beer selections. oh wow! i can choose between Bud or Miller! i hate being inundated by choices! the veggie burger is terribly bland. i'd rather eat a Boca product and we all know that Boca products are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fake meat products. so come to Champps for the classy atmosphere, the dozens of TVs with sports and the awkward karaoke. why hang in Lincoln Park when you could just come home to the source?

This place literally has everything. There aren't a lot of places you can go when one person wants kung pao chicken, one wants fettuccine alfredo, and another wants a buffalo chicken sandwich. This is that place. The menu is MASSIVE. I knock off one star because it's pretty expensive, but honestly, there is such a huge selection and the portions are all substantial enough to make two meals out of most orders. I especially recommend any burger from there, the cookie in a pan type dessert, and the pulled pork sliders. It's the best place I can think of if you don't know what you really feel like eating. Something for everyone.

The food here is decent (I haven't sampled the bar at all), but slightly overpriced for being mainly burgers/sandwiches. Of course, if you stop in for half-price burgers on Monday, then it's definitely a good deal. I've always had excellent service in the dining area, and for those who lamented the loss of waffle fries, they're now being served once again at Champps.

Champps is the Cheesecake factory of the "Bar & Grill" scene. They have a pretty wide variety of foods, but their prices are a bit ridiculous and the food is medicore. I had fish & chips, which ran $13, and I expected much more. I do, however, enjoy many of their chicken breast entrees, but the rest you can get better/cheaper elsewhere. Unless you're there for pint-night on Wednesdays, you're better off hitting up Fox & Hound. If you're thinking fish, which I was and got burnt, hit up the Village Tavern for their fish fry.

(3)Amanda O.
(3)Tara S.
(2)Brian B.
Food service was slow. 30 min to get a meal and they were not busy. Bathrooms were awful. Smelled of swamp gas as soon as you went in.
(1)Amanda S.
(4)MoMo K.

(4)Michael H.
first time I went here was to watch a UFC fight.

Just came to pick up a slice of cheesecake to go. The food the people were eating looked weird. Just wanted a dessert for the evening.

(3)Diana S.

(5)May K.

Had a good burger last night . They were out of chips or no longer carry chips , service started out ok but got really slow as the meal went on . Prices continue to go up ??? Not sure I'll be making many more visits to to the place anymore !

(3)Jovan P.
Food was good. Service was non existent.. no one greeted, didn't get a menu for 10 minutes after we were seated, and waitress/bartender was rude.

(5)Rob R.
Good food, good value. They have a full bar many TV's to watch the game and super customer service!!! Thank you Rachel !
(4)Dwayne J.
Worst service ever at any Restaurant in Schaumburg area. Always have to wait for over 20 kina to ordrr my food even though i know wat i want before even walking in the restaurant. Not sure, hpw hard is to understand when someone says NO MEAT in their food. Decent prices during Happy Hour.
(1)Amanda D.
(1)Toni B.
(5)nick a.
It's a lunch place and sometimes the service is spotty. We ordered salads with out dressing and the salads came dressed. The remade the salads but it took a while. The food quality is good but frustrating to have to wait when you are on a lunch hour.
(3)Wayne W.
Ha!
(5)D S.
(3)Bart H.
(4)Ericka L.
Not a place I would frequent, but I did enjoy their cajun shrimp pasta while here for a going away party...

(1)Rob W.
(3)Nana M.
Very disappointed with very small menu and taste of food. 21 tvs and definitely a sports bar not a restaurant. Not for us - prices a bit high for quality of food.

(4)Ashley S.
(4)Matt R.

(4)Mike K.
I come here often great food for a sports bar.. They have half price off appetizers in the bar after 10 PM! AWESOME!
(5)Tony H.
the pepperjack burger was one of the best burgers i've ever had. granted a burger is a burger: two slabs of cooked to perfection beef, a layer of pepperjack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and all the fixings.
(5)Greg F.
raising one star in rating because visit here late saturday was fine and gave me no particular reason to grumble. two Stellas, a mini-french onion soup plus a gi-normous pretzel among good company. if I never come here again I can say we finished on a nice positive note
(4)Bill S.

(4)H.e. K.
So I appreciated how well the customer service was... would have been cooler if he COMP'd our drinks though! ;)
(4)Nicole E.
(4)Rhonda R.

(4)L C.
(5)Nick S.
Champps pissed me off. It was the NCAA tournament and they reserved tables in the bar, which they're not supposed to do. The manager gave us some BS answer when we tried to sit there. I thought the point of having a large corporate restaurant is to avoid the silly towny shit that goes on at other places.
(1)Karen A.
(3)Phil K.
(3)Chrysty C.
I came here years ago and had a great time with a good friend! I don't remember much about the food or drinks, but I remember enjoying it. I came here again for lunch. It was pretty dead inside, so service was pretty good. I just ordered a Caesar salad, which was okay. Nothing special.
(3)Sarah J.
Adam the bartendar was really nice very pleasent and thanked us for coming in- that was nice of him. way to go champps-
(3)Nicole L.
I had the walnut crusted chicken again last week and it was just as yummy as the first time. Minus one star for the waitress who sat us next to a wall of windows after we specifically asked NOT to be seated by any windows or doors because we were already cold. Needless to say, we were cold the entire time.
(4)Jason T.
(3)Zaid M.
(4)John A.
Food is decent but pricey. Pretty good hamburgers and waffle fries. Half price appetizers between 4-7 and $2 pints isn't bad for a Thursday night. Depends on who you get, but the service is below average. May return if I'm in the area...on a Thursday night.
(2)Heather A.
(3)Mary M.
Best chop salad anywhere! This place always is a winner!
(5)Colt E.
(2)Jay B.
Basic American bistro fare. Food was good, mostly glamourized bar food. The service is good. The staff is relatively attentive. good for large groups. but very loud evenings when the TV are showing sports.
(3)Amanda S.
(3)Jon S.
1/2 price apps and cheap beer Thrsdays was the draw for me. Bartender was delightful and beautiful a great combination. Plenty of TV viewing for the sports fans. Good times
(3)Brent W.
(4)Donovan H.
(3)Justin S.
Bland and over priced. Yeah just that simple. I thought I went with a safe bet to get the french dip. Well I was mistaken and for some reason there was mayo on it. WHY???? please why? Not my kind of place and pretty generic.
(2)Dave C.
i hate coming off as a typical city liberal beer snoot, but surburban establishments have such limited beer selections. oh wow! i can choose between Bud or Miller! i hate being inundated by choices! the veggie burger is terribly bland. i'd rather eat a Boca product and we all know that Boca products are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fake meat products. so come to Champps for the classy atmosphere, the dozens of TVs with sports and the awkward karaoke. why hang in Lincoln Park when you could just come home to the source?
(2)Emily C.
(4)Jerry C.
$16.50 for a Wiessbeer and a Guinness. Any more questions?
(2)Cisdevry C.
Great place to watch sports.
(5)Andy F.
