Good lunch specials, attentive daytime service, full-blown local sports bar atmosphere...but minus 1 star for the warm draft beers.

Went to Pops for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Was a Saturday around noon. Five other people there and they all had their food when I showed up. Ordered a turkey club sandwich and got it 30 minutes later. Let that sink in for a moment. Toasted bread with turkey, mayo, lettuce and tomato took 30 minutes with nobody else ordering food. The bartender even went back several times to check on my food. Okay, every place deserves a second chance right? Went again tonight and it was busier but not packed. Got my food in about 20 minutes this time but my server spent most of the time sitting at a table with two other servers and a couple of guys. Another server brought out my food to her to bring to me because apparently checking on your customer's order isn't something they do on their own? I ended up asking yet another server to get my check and she was the one that rang it up too because mine wasn't around. I heard two servers complain to customers about how slow it was and how they weren't making any tips. I empathize with that but complaining about it on the floor to customers is not exactly creating a great customer experience. On the plus side the place is nice and clean and plenty of screens for sports. The food wasn't bad either but based on the indifferent and apathetic service I think this is my last time there. There are plenty of other bars with big screens and food.

I loved this place and went here at least once every 2-3 weeks and for every Hawks game. My parents were regulars and week weekly. There was a great atmosphere with a ton of tvs, great food, great waitresses and $13 domestic buckets. Then a couple of months ago the owners apparently pushed the manager out who took the cooks with him. Now you just get 30min+ wait time on food and the kitchens closes at 8pm because it can't handle the orders. This is a recipe for angry hungry and drunk customers and bitter waitresses who are getting blamed and stiffed on their tips. Not worth the time or trouble anymore, what a waste.

I guess consistent advertising eventually pays off. My husband and I kept getting Pop's menus and coupons in the mail (and we drove by it often) so we headed there for dinner one night. To our surprise, Pop's is more than just a sports bar -- there is a small restaurant dining room off to the side. Both are easily accessible from either side of the building. We were seating at a quiet booth in the restaurant and promptly handed menus and a giant bowl of the most delicious bread I've ever had prior to a meal in a restaurant. It was SO GOOD. I nearly ate the whole loaf. For dinner, my husband ordered a rotisserie chicken while I had the fish (I believe it might have been the Friday night fish fry). Both meals were the perfect portion: not too large, but still left you stuffed after finishing off the entire plate. Both meals were also very delicious -- surpsingly so, considering this was just the little dine-in restaurant attached to a bar. Our bill wasn't too bad either. We left satsified. Our meal wasn't the best meal we've ever had, but it was good and memorable enough to put this on Yelp. Whee!

Sat for 20 mins. Waiting to get drink orders on an empty Friday night 20 mins later a bartender walks by to ask what I want with no menu and then keeps serving other people 10mins after that I order my food then wait 27mins for a burger with no one order food but myself. Must say avoid at all costs unless you want to pay for shit service.

Great food, especially the pizza! I'm super picky, but I love the pizza sauce and cheese they use. Also, it's not greasy like other pizza places I've tried in the area. Food is always consistent, and they offer generous portions. Waitresses are friendly, and it's a fun environment. I highly recommend pops for take out or to catch a Blackhawks game with a beer and slice of pizza!

I've been here several times and I am never disappointed. The service is good and the food is better. I really love the cream of chicken soup & buffalo calamari (genius idea...why does no one have this!!!) I usually sit in the dining part, but the bar part is nice. I just like a less sporty area when dining. Which I find sets Pops apart from most bars. I like that you can eat in the restaurant and drink in the bar right after if you don't feel like watching sports while eating. Definitely worth checking this place out though!!

I was there early today. It took forever for some to come to are table. Food was good. She gave us are check when we got are food. When I was ready to pay she was MIA. I had to go up to the bar to pay.

We love coming to Pop's to catch a Blackhawks game and to eat lunch or dinner. The Buffalo Wings are my favorite, Garlic & Parmesan for watching the game. The sandwiches are good sized and very tasty. The Chicken Pesto Panini is really good! The portion sized are large and you always have enough to take home for a meal the next day.

This place is our neighborhood sports bar and restaurant . It's nice because the restaurant has a separate entrance so kids do not have to walk thru bar. The food is top notch. Linda is the best bartender ever and Tina is the best waitress in town !! The biggest secret is the bread they serve with dinner entrees!! Homemade perfection dipped in Parmesan freshly grated and olive oil and balsamic !! Ughhh , to die for!

Official Chicago Blackhawks bar!!! And this is another reason that I love Yelp! I went to Pop's when I was much younger and I'll always have those memories. And then I visited about three years ago. I didn't love it. Back a year later. It's okay. I head back last year for a party and I can see improvement. I Yelp all about it and now over another year later, I've decided to give them one more star. I still don't adore Pop's, but as an official Blackhawks bar with good pizza, decent service and a great location, it works. I've tried the wings and like those too. The service gets better with each passing visit so that's a plus in my book. Our friends love Pop's so I imagine that we'll be visiting again soon. And when I do, I'll enjoy the game with our pizza and wings and I won't feel bad about supporting this local business. Bad

Pop's has been around for a long time, but I never made it there before. A colleague suggested that we go there, so we did. Pop's is nothing really special, but they have a nice menu. I ordered a Club Sandwich that came with fries. The fries were excellent, and the Club sandwich very good. I frequent Teddy's Diner for lunch, and after one visit, I would guess they are both on par with each other. The main difference I could see right away was Pop's was neater and larger. I will try it again and update my review once I have a few visits under my belt.

I really enjoy this bar; the drink specials are actually good (a rare find in the area), the TVs are always on the right games and the food is decent. The service and servers, however, have gotten progressively worse. Not only do they take forever to check on you, but they often forget your order or a part of it. I know it's a touchy subject or even a gray area, but I don't like having my beer and food served to me that looks miserable...hung over, dirty, etc. Have some pride in yourself and at least run a brush through your hair. Additionally, the management at the needs to take control of atmosphere. Children are welcome at this establishment, but the irresponsible parents let their kids run wild. Throwing darts recklessly, jumping on the pool tables, etc. If these were my children, I would be embarrassed! Several of the guys in my group yesterday wanted to play darts, but 6 kids were whipping darts at the board and we didn't feel like asking the kids to go away. Instead, we cashed out and left. So the bar not only lost out on revenue generated from the dart boards, but also from the food and drinks we continued to enjoy the rest of the night at another establishment. Also, as long as I am providing suggestions to the management, you need to realize you are a sports bar, and if there are not sports on at 11p, that doesn't mean you need to turn the 'DJs' latest mix all the way up, especially when there are only 12 people in the bar.

Im not sure what happened to this place.....it used to be a pretty good place to go - good food & service. It has went downhill very fast. Not sure how or why.

I've visited here regularly for over a year now. Every Time I come in for a drink I always end up saying hello or having a friendly conversation with someone. It's a unique atmosphere, where people actually talk and smile. Always having great interaction with the staff. Music can be good sometimes too, never too dull or too quiet. I come in when Rachael & Nicole are working the bar. They are the friendliest most outgoing tenders I know. They move constantly to keep the place clean, servers supplied, and visitors happy. It's a hard work ethic with a smile that means the most to me. To see people like them who truly care about others and what they do makes a welcoming bar worthwhile.

Quality food is great! My first time having actual Chicago style pizza!!! But service sucks. My sis in law ordered a turkey panini and it had bacon but she does not eat bacon nor did the menu say it has bacon. MIND YOU there were no more then 15 people here at this time so it's really slow. So when it came out she says "aw this has bacon I can't eat this" and the waitress says "sooo what do you want me to do about it?" In the rudest way possible what you should've said is "oh I'm sorry yes it has bacon would u like something else or would you like it remade with no bacon?" Keep your attitude and personal problems away from your work place. Don't like your job? Quit, easy enough

Vapor friendly! I highly recommend bacon, sausage and (optional) pepperoni on your pizza. Delicious!

I'm not a football fan but if I was, I'd be a Bears fan and Pop's certainly provides a fantastic place to enjoy a Bears game. Pro tip: Do not order too much food at the beginning of your visit because Pop's lays out a one pass buffet during halftime. The servers will not tell you about this because it is obviously to their gratuity disadvantage. If you take advantage of the buffet, please be sure to tip your server accordingly because not only do they lose the opportunity for table turnover during the duration of a game but they lose out on potential tips earned from food that would normally be ordered. The bar area provides many seating option that range from open hightop areas, table seating, bar seating, and a strange and awkward perimeter seating situated around the table area. I saw awkward because you'll be directly on top of the table inside the ring staring at their heads, food, and drinks in very close proximity. All of the seats have at least decent views to the banks of flat screen monitors tuned to various sports channels just in case you don't care for football. The thin crust pizza is standard thin crust style found in many bars so it's good but nothing to specifically make a trip to Pop's for. I suggest 2 toppings at the most as the pizza flavor becomes convoluted otherwise. The nachos were of the standard bar variety as well and featured nothing special and came out in the standard heaping typical mess. Satisfying but nothing unique. We were going to order wings but after seeing someone else's order containing average sized wings but pricing, in some cases depending on quantity, at or over a dollar per wing. Whaaaaaat? No, thank you. So why four stars? Only because it really is one of the greatest places to catch the Bears game in the area. Bucket deals for domestics are cheap as well so you won't have to worry about breaking the bank to come out and watch a game. Make sure you arrive early for decent seating so you won't get stuck with an awkward aerial view of the person inside of the awkward ring.

Went to Pop's Pizza for the first time since I was attending the Windy City Vape Meet. I didn't eat any of their food but their bar service was fantastic and they carry 312 from Goose Island. One of my favorite beers. Not everyone carries it. Great atmosphere and our server was attentive. We were a bit put off when we found out extra salad dressing was 50 cents each as well as their brownie dessert had ice cream at a $2 up charge. Pop's does have nice, clean and modern bathrooms as well as a small party room in the back that held the Vape Meet. We had a great time and left before the Mayweather fight started. That would have been an extra $10 to attend.

Service was horrible. Was seated promptly but waited 20 minutes for someone to come take our order just for drinks. Waited another 10 minutes for drinks to come and waitress forgot one of our drinks which took another 5 minutes to receive. Waitress walked by multiple times without acknowledging our empty glasses or asking if everything was ok. Took over an hour to get our food. Food was great but doesn't make up for the poor service. I'm only giving 3 stars because good never disappoints.

Best pizza in the area, but you have to eat in or pick it up. Delivery is bad. Pizza is not kept in heating bag and arrives cold! Waiting now for. A redelivers. Might get to eat 2 plus hours after placing the order!

Went for a Blackhawks Roadwatch....great specials...they had 2 dollar beers, burgers, and hot dogs! DELICIOUS! Servers were busy, yet friendly and checked on our table frequently even though it was packed! Friendly atmosphere, great sports bar, good food! I LOVE THEIR PIZZA AND CHICKEN PARMESAN SANDWICH! Grade: A

Great super thin pizza. Always love the freshly baked cracker crust. Salad fresh looking but veggies were limp. Standard menu but reasonable prices and good quality. Service in dining room this time around was a bit slower despite a fairly empty parking lot and bar. We weren't the largest party for the evening crowd and still had to wait 45-50 min for food. Staff was pleasant. Will always keep Pop's on hand for delivery.

Poor service, poor management. Lack of staff and lack of personality. Management does not care about quality of food. Gave this place a few chances and they never change. Told them about a food allergy, and when the ordered food came out with tomatoes, server said to just pick them off. Argued that Cabernet was a white wine. Had chicken that was still bloody and server came back and said the manager chopped into it and it was just the main vein that was bloody other then that, it was cooked but they were taking it off my bill anyway. Manger never even came to my table. Wasn't asked if I wanted anything else. Asked for mayo instead of ranch on a wrap and they put it on the side and charged me for it. Ordered a side salad, charged $3.50 and the salad was about 2 ounces, compared to the 8 ounce salad that came with a meal!!! Asked for ranch for my salad and never got it. This place is a disgrace!!! Diners beware!!!! I wish I could give it negative stars!!

So I must start by saying I have very mixed feelings about this place. I recently moved very close to Pop's and thought it was going to be a great bar to live near. In a way I was right but mostly wrong. The pro's.... Pop's does have great drink and food specials for each day of the week which is nice if you are looking to drink and eat for cheaper than most places. They do have outside seating with TV's in the window if a game is on, which is always a plus. The con's.... For the most part the servers seem to be very nice but at times seem miserable. I mean I understand it's work and no one wants to work but it gives off a bad vibe. I was also somewhat under the impression that it would be more crowded on weekends. For the weekends that I have gone it has been pretty slow. I know it is called Pop's pizza but I am going to be honest when I say their pizza is pretty bland and nothing to brag about. Overall, I give it two stars because I feel there is a lot of areas that they could improve upon. I do however appreciate the drink deals.

Decent specials. Lots of tvs and screens. Food is pretty decent for a sports bar. Prices are pretty reasonable. Nice atmosphere.

I will never step foot in this place again. The service has to be the worst I have ever had. The waitress didn't refill our pops and she grunted when asked her for more napkins.the pizza was good but won't make up for the real bad service .

This is a fun place to watch Hawks games or UFC & pizza is awesome ! Only issue is you cannot reserve a table by calling ahead so we avoid going there many times unless someone can sit there for 2 hours prior to event starting . Service is great !

I've been to Pop's on a few occasions, primarily because it's right down the street from my house. It's a pizza and sports bar as their name states...nothing more, nothing less. I've opted to eat in both the bar and restaurant area. Either way, the food is the same. Some days are better than others, but either way it's average bar food. I've tried a little bit of everything...pizza, appetizers, salads, sammies, pasta, and wraps. There's usually decent daily specials, that's a bonus. Service is always friendly and typically fairly fast. Prices are fair and portions are pretty large. As for the atmosphere, this is not a place I would come to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. As is, the bar area usually brings in some of the local drunks, which I prefer to not be around. If that's what it's like during the week, I'd hate to see it during amateur hours... The restaurant is where I prefer to eat if I'm grabbing a quick bite with a friend. It's much more quiet and the service is better. I feel a little less dive-y in that section. Other than that, I stick to carryout. Pop's isn't bad if you're looking for a sandwich, some fried bar food or greasy pizza. You won't find me hanging in the bar, or slamming back beers on Fri//Sat night, but that's just my preference...

I love Pops! Its an all in one. Want to go on a nice date night with your sweetie.. you head into the dinning room area. Looking for a fun night of drinks and YUMMY food go stright into the sports bar. Or heck do both. The best part is even if you go into the bar you can still get the full menu, which might I add is AMAZING! Its higher end food at low end cost so really how can you go wrong?!?!? They have some of the best wings and ranch (made fresh on site!!). But what keeps me coming back is the Chicken Scampi. I know it sounds crazy a bar that serves pasta dishes, but 95% I HAVE to get it! The staff is very friendly and its fast service even when its busy. The bar is also an offical Blackhawk's bar. So you know the game is always going to be on (as well as any other ones) And they usually have some fun raffles going on through out the night. All in all a must go to bar for a good time and a BIG bang for your BUCK!

Very cool atmosphere. Blackhawks were playing in every TV. Waitress was very good with bringing drinks and our food. A friend ordered loaded fries and they looked awesome. Everyone had a good time, good service and good food.

I am not a big sports bar guy but I really like Pop's. The ambiance is fun and they play great music at night. The video screens are big and when it's not 'sports time' they play music videos. The food is actually pretty good if you eat it at the bar. I have ordered delivery from them and it's usually a hit or a miss. I have been inconvenienced with incorrect orders but the manager was accommodating. This makes all the difference and is the reason why I continue to support them. Mistakes happen and when a business owns up and corrects the mistake, they are regarded as great in my book. People are all quick to judge places based on one mistake but I give credit where it is due since the manager wasn't resistant, cheap, or in denial of my concern.

Excuse me has anyone seen my affliction t-shirt? Ah this gentleman is wearing it, good. While I'm at it, has anyone seen my extremely annoying top 20 CD? Good job DJ d-bag I noticed you located it and have it turned up to 11. Now all I need is my bleach blonde girlfriend with a muffin top and tramp stamp... and... where... there she is! Perfect, now I'd like to set the ambiance somewhere between sports bar and basement layer of a serial rapist. Good. Looks like we are set here.

Went to Pop's for drinks with some friends recently. They get a star for two things, having bartenders (at the bar) and for having functioning plumbing. They are probably fine for a quick drink, but the wait service is lacking. I am very hesitant to ever frequent a place with so many tables and so little service. What's the point, really??? They have a lot of TVs. They have a patio where people go to smoke, but it is also the entrance and the smokers do not stand 15 feet away from the door...making the place smell like stale cigarettes because of the constant opening and closing of the door. ICK!

My wife and I have been here at least 4 times since the Hawks season began . In fact we were really starting to call this our spot to watch the games . As we live in Lombard this is not exactly around the corner . As an official Hawks bar they do it right , great sound , plenty of tv's , good food , good service . So we decided to go last night to see the Hawks play the Sharks a 9:30 game . Sat down ordered our drinks a diet coke for my wife and a iced tea for myself and nachos . Then they started to change all the big screens to fighting as well as the sound , I stopped the fellow who was changing the tv's about the Hawks game , he said that there would be no sound and games were on smaller tv's . I asked about the Official Blackhawks bar credo stating all tv's and sound tuned to Hawks game , he indicated that it was not his call . There were no signs on the doors telling us that the game would not be on , heck my wife had herJersey on you would think the waitress would tell us , nope ! Needless to say we paid for our drinks and cancelled our nachos and left , found another Hawks bar that followed the rules , Pops you lost a good customer! ! !

Not only do they have good drink specials and free game day buffet, their food is great! Every meal has not disappointed and their pizza is bear perfect when ordered well done. We love going here for games!! Definitely a great atmosphere!! Give them a try!

This place used to be our after work place, however as of recently it has gone down quick! They used to have good drink specials and good service. Fast forward to present time, and the only thing worth writing about this place is that they have a GREAT lunch special. That's why I am giving them 2 stars!

Message to the MANAGER. HIRE another waiter/waitress you cheap a$$. Great concept but its really annoying when your food takes over an hour to come out and when it does come out its freezing cold because your short staffed. We were here for a black hawks game and the place was packed with one waitress running around like a chicken with her head cut off. It's not the waitresses fault, its yours. Other than that I like the cosmetic upgrades and would be willing to re-review if you stepped up your operations and service. Thanks

  • Gary K.

Been here a handful of times over the past 6 or 7 years. Every time we pass this place it's packed, and for the life of us we can't understand why. You would think they're giving the beer away sometimes. They've done some cosmetic surgery a few times over the years, but it still doesn't hide the overall nastiness of this place. It's in serious need of a real good top to bottom cleaning. The service is beyond horrible. If they get your order correct,(They've gotten it wrong more than once) it takes a long time to get it, and it's average at best. (The pizza is probably their best item, but with all the pizzerias in the area, why bother?) I could walk to this place in 5 minutes and still rarely go, that should tell you something. It's not that I hate the place, but when I go out I want to lean on a table I don't stick to, use a bathroom I'm not disgusted by and get a feeling that they actually spend time behind a mop & bucket. I gave it three stars because it is, after all, only a sports bar!

I found this place as I was taking a walk from the gym I go to. Amazing salads and hummus wraps. I have just started a Health kick and this place definitely has few healthy options. Most of the bars or pizza places don't really have healthy options that you can eat.

  • Joe C.

Not a bad bar. Good food and decent drink prices. Poor seating placement by the walkway. We have never had a friendly or even non-rude server at this place. They complain about being in their "weigh" and that's not a misspelling if you know what i mean. Don't put chairs and tables by a sever highway if they are going to complain the whole time about people sitting there!!!

    (3)
  • Michele L.

I've eaten in the restaurant quite a few times. Everything was fine there. Fine, not great. I've now ordered the same item for delivery twice. Both times it was awful. Not even edible. I don't understand how the kitchen staff doesn't know how to make something you have on your own menu?? I called to complain this last time and spoke the manager "Dave". He was barely apologetic but agreed to send out the corrected order ASAP. 40 minutes later it was still not edible. Apparently Pops is unaware hummus is a condiment not a main course. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

  • Ron H.

Not sure why I only gave 4 stars last time. for the money this place hands down is one of the areas best values - as stated before the lunch menu is awesome - expanded in the last few months - entree, soup or salad and a drink - $7. - and on the menu is one of the best burgers and fries i have ever had . Sarah still tops lunch time server, but Elysa is great too! We are now here minimum of 2 times a week. Value and quality are the best.

  • Haeley J.

For this to be a sports bar, their food is amazing. I've tried so many different items that I can say you won't be disappointed with anything there. The portion sizes are large, and the food is great the next day as left overs. You should try the chicken parm, the Philly chicken sandwich, and their wraps. Their service could be better, but I always take my food to go anyways. Definitely recommend the food, but I haven't tried the pizza yet.

  • Nisha P.

They treat you like close friends, bartenders are friendly, they have darts, pool tables, you can sit outside, they have a beautiful bathroom and place is very clean!!! Also, great pizza. Love this place. Never have to wait on a drink at the bar!

  • Elaine I.

I give it 3 stars because the bar is pretty good and the drinks are reasonably priced. It's nothing to write home about, but I've definitely had a few great nights there. However, the food is meh, and their delivery service is extremely slow.

We had our company party in the banquet room in the back of Pops (about 115 people). Dave and his staff did a great job from planning the menu through the entire event. The staff were really awesome and helped me to set up the room (without being asked!). It was a huge help. The food was great - we had grilled shrimp, filet and meatball appetizers, a family-style dinner with chicken, beef and veggies, and of course an open bar. There was plenty of room for the DJ and dancing, and we had our own restrooms. Everything was clean and organized. Our staff had a great time, and the entire event was surprisingly affordable! Would definitely recommend to others for events.

I have to fully agree with another reviewer - HIRE ANOTHER BARTENDER/SERVER.. someone, anyone... to take care of your customers in the bar area. The bar area/bar side of the establishment is pretty spacious - not just a large bar but many booths & tables. On 3 occassions (typically after work - say, 5pm), there was just one person serving the entire place. "Running around like a chicken with her head cut off".. yep, that describes it perfectly. The typical wait for a drink refill - even just some water - was probably 20 minutes - if you could flag her down. And this is while sitting right at the bar. The food is hit/miss. Our wings were dry as a bone. The "fish fry" was just a small plate of ok food. The mini burgers are typically the safest bet & the fries were good as well. I had a chicken wrap that was pretty decent. Basically, this used to be the only place to go close to home, but now that Bulldog has opened, we go there instead. I did enjoy the laid back atmosphere at Pop's, the friendly bartenders - when they were around - and the little patio is nice too. But the bad service now keeps us away.

I never had order past from Pops but tonight I ordered Mediterranean past and vegetables and my son ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. We were going to go to Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill but I wanted to order out.. They were both Delicious and delivery was quick. They told me within the Hour it was here in 20 minutes. The side is garlic bread which was good but the main course itself was great.

Good food but service can improve. I will be going here more often as I go to the new amazing gym that just opened across from it. Lets see if there customer service improves. Place is beautiful tho. Love the inside, really nice and clean. I had their hummus wrap and it was very good!

I've sat in the sports bar on many occasions. Great place to watch sports. No cover for any of the MMA. The drink specials are pretty good. The food is great. Can't go wrong with their wings or thin crust pizza. The service is good too. The waitresses are friendly and the presence of the manager is seen on the floor (you don't see that too often at sports bars.) My favorite thing about this place is the half-time buffet they do during Bears games when you've purchased drinks. I've grown to enjoy this place and will continue to go there.

Not good. Margherita Pizza was not good. Garlic bread was so-so. Sauce for the garlic bread was actually pretty good. Nice Hawks atmosphere, just not excited about the pizza.

Pizza is ok. Pasta was ok but meatballs tasted old and tough. When I picked up the food two immature young girls were not professional at all. Loud giggly and even made fun of a customer that called (after they hung up). A young guy came out and chatted with the two girls and loudly dropped the F-bomb twice right in front of me and laughing regarding an order. Now I don't mind swearing but swearing in front of customers and acting like I wasn't there while they acted like kids was just wrong. If I was the owner I would be super pissed hearing and seeing what I did.

This review is for the bar. PIzza was good to me. The special came with loads of toppings, if you hate green peppers, you will hate the specialty supreme (forgot the actual name) pizza. i also tried the tilapia which was good. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Forgot her name but she was awesome. Only thing I dislike is the setup for the tables and TVs. Most of them aren't align with the tvs so you gotta turn side ways.

I've come in after work for a drink and Linda was nothing but fantastic! She was super friendly and I could tell everyone at the bar felt at home....kinda like Cheers...where everybody knows your name. The fellow bar goers all seemed to be friendly and have a great time catching up with each other. I'd definitely recommend the food and drink specials! Great people, food, and atmosphere!

Just a great neighborhood place. Is it perfect? No, but it's a convenient location, decent food at a great value.

Nice place been around for some time. Food is good, servers are hit and miss. I've had good and i've had those where i literally get up and get their attention. Overall nice place, dining area is good and bar area is good for a game.

This place has taken a sharp turn for the worse! It used to have good food and the atmosphere was fun. This last visit was definitely my last! The server took forever to greet us, take our order, and refill drinks. When we got our pizza it was clear it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting. She seemed more interested in completing her sidework than waiting on her guests. To add insult to injury the bartender couldn't care less that I kept getting up and asking him to find her. I love independent places but there are plenty out there that want you to come back. Don't waste your time or your money here!!

First of off, this "restaurant" if you want to call it that got one star, because yelp won't let you put 0 stars. I am a local of Schaumburg, the first time there mailer came to my house I thought let's try it out. Order a burger and wings to be delivered... when I finally got the food and open up my wings I found on the very first wing a HAIR! .. now that for one is just gross and should be a reason to get this place no stars! But it didn't stop, I decided to go back and give this place another shot and go see how the service was, when I got there I sat at the bar at lunch time. The service was awful! Sat there waiting for a refill of water, but didn't get one... instead we heard the server swearing and complaining about how " hard she works". After that I decided not to go back inside every again. My friend decided to order some food from there and pay with cash.. the delivery guy came and dropped off the food and after being given a $20.00 for a meal that was only $9.47 the delivery person started to walk away... my friend asks " do you have change for this $20.00" he reply "No, all I carry is $20.00". After opening the food it smelled like cigarettes. End this all up. Will never be going to this place again! And I strongly recommend neither do you.

Went here for a roadwatch for the Blackhawks. My friend doesn't drink, so they would let us sit in the roadwatch section. It's not like he's under 21 (he's 24 like me), he just doesn't drink alcohol. Never coming back for anything.

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and I have no complaints. The first time we sat in the restaurant part as we had a big group. We ordered the pizza which was great and we had exceptional service. Tonight was the second time I went and we sat in the bar area. It was 5:00 on a Sunday, so it was a little loud as the football games were on tv, but the service and food were great. We had Ashley as our server, who kept up with our drinks, and checked up on us continually. I had the Mediterranean Wrap with Chicken which was out of this world. My parents had a pizza which they had no complaints about. The bar was very clean as well. Definitely going to bring my friends here one day!

3 stars for a nice local sports bar. Pop's has a nice, positive ambiance... especially during Blackhawk games. The only downside of the place is the sport TV volume is a little loud... but that's just geezer talk. I'll give Pop's an extra shiny star for the outstanding pizza! The Pop's Special is thin crust with sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, mushroom, and onion. Drool. Here. The morning after. I can't believe I let my Dad steal the leftovers. Dop. All hail, Pop's! still drooling... yow, bill

Never eaten a bad bite of food in this place. My boyfriend and i order pizza from here all the time and it's delicious! We also have a great server (Sheila). When we go in there on Tuesday nights to play darts we ask for her and she takes awesome care of us. She's the reason we go back again and again. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and very nice. The only reason Im giving 3 stars is because I wish they had better drink specials. Other than that I really like this bar!

Generally speaking, my wife and I enjoy the Pasta dishes, always got a fair deal on the nightly specials. It is close to home, fair prices and good portion sizes. Service is hit or miss, but that usually doesn't bother us - unless something is really wrong. We usually order a soda or iced tea with our meals, but tonight when we got our bill, we were both SHOCKED! All fountain drinks are now $3.25!!!! I asked the waitress if they switched to petroleum based fountain drinks, I don't know if she thought I was joking or what. Is this the new trend? I didn't think drinks would have been affected by the current drought! From now on it's water with a few slices of lemon please, of course, they may start charging for lemon slices due to poor fruit crops.

No reason to drink beer in a dark bar area. The bar area makes me depressed on how dark it is. turn the lights up!!

I've been here a couple of times in the last few months. I haven't been very impressed. The first time I had the Philly steak sandwich. While it was plentiful, it wasn't particularly flavorful - spices? None. I mean bland. Now, I'm from Philly, so maybe I'm a tough audience, but if you're going to make it, then let's make it right! The Bartender was reasonably attentive, which was good. The next time I had a pizza. It was fair. The oven must have been having problems or something because the dough was overdone on the outer bottom of the pie, but underdone in the center. There was also some carbon on the bottom. I'd have sent it back, but it took so long to get in the first place... The Bartender on this occassion, was awful. While I've never cooked, I have tended bar and this guy was busy in the back, busy chatting up other customers and we had to flag him every time we wanted a refill or the check. Overall, there's a lot of room for improvement.

Tonight was obviously amateur night at Pop's. The food was terrible and the service was even worse. I ordered an order of baked mostaccoli, fettuccini Alfredo, and mozerella sticks. The delivery guy shows up with fettuccini mostaccoli and the mozzarella sticks. Obviously I called and complained about this. They "rushed" over my actual order and by the time I got it, the food was cold and tasteless. I was also rudely interrupted from trying to get some (even if it was very little) satisfaction from my horrible food by a clueless delivery guy asking for me to sign for the other order, to which I bottled my rage and said no. There's a ton of better places around Roselle, don't waste your time here.

GREAT week day dinner specials in the restaurant. I always leave full and happy with lots of leftovers. The bar is a bit loud..but most bars are...usually only go to the restaurant which recently got a nice makeover.

Quick and easy lunch menu, and affordable. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, but the staff is usually pretty nice. Chef salad is huge, with fresh meats and cheeses; french fries are the good, thick kind. Large portions, you typically leave with enough food for another meal.

A great sports bar....that I can almost walk to (or from)! I have gone here a few times after bowling across the street at Strike X (Ten) for some post bowl beers. Your typical crappy American beer list, but with Sam Adams Boston Lager (not sh*tty Summer Ale) on tap, I'm good to go. They also have some of the most ridiculous food specials (1/2 price pizza day, 1.50 for burger basket and fries day, 1.50 panzerotti day!) around. Their pizza is GREAT, nice and thin, not too greasy, great sausage. It's easily one of the best pizzas in the area! The service is good too. The bartender is very attentive and is always present just as you are finishing that last sip of beer to pour you a refill. The apparently have free UFC events here too, although I have never attended one. Driving by during a recent match and the parking lot was packed so it seems to be a hot spot for it.

Pop's Pizza and Sports Bar has hosted thrice the Road-Watch for the Chicago Blackhawks. Tonight would be Game 7 @ Canucks to finish up Round 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Initial reviews told me to be aware of service and that the pizza was the item to get. Knowing how previous Road-Watches are and that the Bulls would also be playing up until 30min into the Hawks game we arrived at 7:45, 15 minutes before the Bulls game. While the Bulls didn't bring about a full bar, the Road-Watch + prior patronage added up to standing room only. Inside Pop's is a clean and respectable "hole-in-the-wall" had it not been located in a shopping center on the outskirts of Shaumburg. Now don't get me wrong I love finding the obscure and sometimes questionable bar every now and then, so stepping into this place and getting the feeling that there has been the fair share of spilled beer (which I did contribute my own to the table, bench, floor, and coworker completely on accident) and lack of corporate shadowing left me feeling cozy and right at home. But don't let me scare you off this place screams hometown hero! Service was prompt at first, but with notice that we were staying through the Hawks game we were glanced over and skipped more than a few times, it did pick up as we started ordering and our actual game came on. Things to know - If you are a Coors Light drinker, like myself, look elsewhere, and they do not serve pitchers; instead, they serve 2.5L towers of beer (filled well past the mark) that actually held close to 8 full pints. The Asparagus Parmesan was ordered as just fried asparagus and was cooked well and retained a crisp texture in both the breading and the greens. The onion rings were par for the course and cooked well too. Three pizzas were ordered: a double-decker (a layer of two thin crusts twisted with toppings applied on top) Pop's Special which turned out not really worth the extra cost, a thin crust vegetarian, and another Pop's Special thin. All three pizzas were adequately topped and not too heavy on the sauce. Their reputation I would say holds if you are looking for a pizza in the traditional sense of the word. Stick to the thin crusts and you won't be disappointed. The bill was fairly priced. Bonus points are awarded for my spilled pint refill. It was not charged, and I also did not ask for it. Now if only they could have done something about that loss of game 7...

I have been a loyal customer of Pop's for many years and so I gave it a second chance. What a huge mistake. I brought an out of town guest in to enjoy the Black Hawks game and the dinner took forever, and was ice cold. I thought alright bad night went back last night and the place was empty, and my food came out ice cold again. Not sure what the problem is getting food to the table hot. Our waitress told us there wasn't a Ruben on Special but it was still on the board from lunch. I asked what the specials were and she said there was only a shrimp basket. I saw another table come in and she handed them a whole list of specials. My Pasta didn't have any soup or salad that came with the entree and it was $9.95. A cup of split pea soup wouldn't have killed them to give to a customer when you think the pasta was cold and not very tasty. As the waitress came around she told us she had been there forever but she never once filled our waters or cleaned the table. I was a waitress for eight years and I can't believe a career waitress would make so many mistakes on a slow night. Stick to Pizza and Beer and you will be alright. This place is just that.

I have been buying their thin crust sausage pizza for over ten years. I have yet to find any other pizza as good as theirs, and I've tried a lot of them. Their sausage always tastes fresh and their cheese is incredibly flavorful.

the overall mood is pretty good if ur a sports watcher. the food was okay (pop's pizza was good, nachos were pretty bad), service was pretty bad. we had a party of at least 27 people, got one menu per table, waitress came by so late to take our orders and when we ordered drinks, we had to remind them and wait forever for it to get to the table.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
