Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Simple place in a strip mall. Great lunch special menu and a reasonably priced dinner and takeout menu. Mainly the Americanized versions of Chinese dishes. Courteous staff, prompt service. A regular stop for us on the weekend.

I have tried many other Chinese take-out places and none have matched up to China House. People need to understand that this is NOT 5 star dining. It is Chinese take-out. It is salty, greasy, and covered in goodness. My favorite food here is simple.... House Fried Rice and the Crab Rangoons. I will continue to order from this place as long as I live in the area.

I come here a lot. They have really nice lunch dishes for a reasonable price. But the place looks dirty, the tables are sticky, and guess what.... I found a hair in my food! I don't know if I am ever coming back here again.

This our favorite Chinese restaurant in Romeoville. We get carry out mostly for our convenience, but dine in is excellent too. We usually order beef fried rice and beef lo mein.

Place is terrible dirty and takes them too long to serve customers, even when the place is not busy panda is a better option

My husband and I tried this place for the first time tonight, because of the 4 star rating from our follow Yelpers. My husband ordered our takeout, they said 15 minutes, and since we live about ten minutes away, we headed immediately out to get it. We ordered egg rolls, beef fried rice, and the generals chicken. Imagine our surprise when we got home and find everything BUT the chicken. Seriously?! So, back my husband goes. When he went back in, all he got was an apology, and an order of the chicken that was supposed to be in our bag. They didn't offer to give us money off, didn't offer to make us fresh hot food, nothing. We will NOT be back here. Very poor service, with subpar run of the mill chinese food. Panda Express is better than this garbage, and at least they don't forget your damn food.

Ordered for the first time and had to take all the food back! Shrimp were so over cooked they turned into mush when you bit them. Never going back

I love this place! This was the first Chinese place we ever ordered from in this area, and have yet to try anywhere else. Honestly, I have never been inside either. The delivery is fast! They always say give it 45 minutes, but it rarely takes more than 20. Once it took about 40 and we were genuinely concerned for the delivery guy's well being. The sweet & sours are great, their rangoons are amazing, prices are good and try the Hot Sea!

Good place with some solid lunch specials. I only have been here for lunch and I will return even though there are closer Chinese restaurants around me when i am in Lockport.

I've ordered from this place for atleast once every other month for the past 7 years.......yess 7 SOLID yrs....this is probably one of the best food spots Romeoville has to offer besides all the cliche fast food/pizza places. The food is decent...slightly above average...3.5 stars. Their prices are reasonable. The prices match their quality and proportions....When you order fried rice TO GO, they go out of their way to stuff that box with as much rice as they can.....after all these years, i still dont know how they manage to close that box with all that rice struggling to stay put... NOW I MUST WARN YOU ABOUT THE "RUDENESS"...It all depends on who is behind that cash register....Evan is always courteous and polite...always radiating with positivity on the phone and in person.....the petite soft spoken lady is always nice...i think she owns the place but she's barely there anymore......they rest of them are nonchalant and borderline rude....sometimes it feels like you are bothering them by making a purchase.....but i can assure you that this rudeness started about a year or 2 ago....it was never this way... This is not the type of place you actually want to dine at.....you'll be better off opting for carry out or delivery... Dont focus on the rudeness and frozen faces...just call ahead of time and order...pick up your food and exit....its that simple.... no unnecessary smiles and no small talk about the weather...none of that B.S...they will not chat you up!.. DECENT FOOD. GOOD QUALITY. REASONABLE PRICES. FAST AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT SERVICE. not bad at all....i wish i could give 3.5 stars but i'll give them 4...

Delicious, hot, large portions, and priced right. Only issue is atmosphere is blah...but what the heck, it's a take out place. They do have a decent tv. And the young ladies at the counter are friendly. Only had the lunch combos (mongo beef, orange chicken). The bbq pork fried rice is great...big honkin chunks of meat.

I am in town for business and staying at a hotel down the road from this place. I always have a hankering for Chinese food. Good, cheap Chinese food. In my experience, they are the best. This place is about as good as it gets, for American Chinese food. I have never had real, authentic Chinese food, from China. I did not know what I wanted to eat, so I made the trip and ordered when I got there. I wanted something chicken, I wanted it spicy, with a lot of veggies. The lady that took my order suggested Szechuan Chicken. I happily obliged and also got an order of egg drop soup. Who can not eat egg drop soup. The setting is casual, quiet and clean. They take good care of this place and it really shows. The food portions are huge. I ordered a large portion of Szechuan Chicken and I have leftovers for tomorrow. Make sure you know what you want and be prompt, or expect attitude. If you can get over that small bump, then enjoy your food. I always make an attempt to make it to the restaurants I have enjoyed, if I am ever in the area again. This restaurants definitely makes that list.

7th Time here. Great Food, Pathetic Customer Service always. Everytime I walk in with my family, the manager stares at our faces. No smile, no greetings. Then after a 5 second stare figures out (I guess) that we are here to eat. She asks 'how many?', 'table-booth' (mind you it's table-booth, not table or booth; and yes she is still not smiling). Btw this is pretty much the sequence every time. Wait! Did I tell you about the waiters/servers? They always walk towards your table like a zombie, no greeting, no smile, no eye contact. They just stand in front of your table, starting at their order pad. 'Are you ready?' Great another manager clone. Food is great, awesome. The people are not even close to being like the adjectives i used for the food. The food is the only reason we come back, and the moment we enter, the service makes us cringe and hence lost 2 Stars for this review. This is how I rate: ** - for Food * - for Value * - for Ambience * - for Customer Service 6th * - for That Something Special Hope this helps you decide :-)

Solid Chinese food. If you do an appetizer and like shrimp... try the shrimp Cantonese. Better get 2 orders though! It's to good to just eat one box!...

Looking for a new Chinese place in the area I trusted the Yelpers reviews. This place supposedly has a four star review but I don't see why, they mustbe paying or bribing the reviewers! There is nothing cheap about this place or big portions. The service i got was rude, food is mediocre, and it's too expensive for the type of food they sell. I should have trusted my gut and not gone there but I guess you have to try things once, never again for this place. And this is from someone that knows her food. I got the chicken chop suey, it tasted bland. Not sure where they get their chicken but it looks and tastes like fake fatty chicken. Ugggghhhh! Gross!

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm The best kung pao veg, veggie egg foo young and veg fried rice anywhere! this gem is consistently good, consistently fresh, and has kept me well-fed for more than 10 years. I found it when it opened across the street from where I lived, but now, many years later and 45 miles away, I continue to treat myself when I'm in that "I *just want great food right now and don't want to have to guess about what I'll be eating*" place!

The food is consistently good and plentiful.l

I was looking for a good Chinese Restaurant while I was out in this neck of the woods and came upon this place on Yelp. First off, the place is very clean to other Chinese Restaurants I have been too in Chicago: Plus. Second, the service was quick and fast: Plus. Finally, the food was great (had their lunch special - beef broccoli with fried rice, egg roll and an egg drop soup), hot and really good for the price (under $10 with tip). I would definitely come back here when I'm out this way again.

When the boy told me we were going to China House I was not happy. Mainly because we live near the China House in Crest Hill, and that place is a dump with bad food. Walking into the location in Romeoville I was quite shocked. There was nice bright color on the wall, and a huge mural of a dragon. It is also very clean. The one in Crest Hill is an absolute shit hole in the wall. The Crest Hill Location is Dark & Musty. There are water marks on the ceiling tiles. The employees sit at a table, watch tv, and smoke cigarettes all day. I could not believe the difference in between the two locations. Seriously the man who runs the Crest Hill location needs his ass beat for running that restaurant like that. This is why I was upset about going to another China House. I thought damn we are gonna drive to the next town to eat at a dump? I was totally shocked when we ordered. We started with the appetizers- egg rolls, and BBQ pork. The pork was so good, and hot! (Temperature) The Crest hill location serves old Luke warm BBQ pork that can be very chewy and hard. The egg rolls were hot and crispy. I was expecting cold and soggy. Yum! Next came the dinners- we decided to order something different than we normally order, and eat some of each. The lemon chicken was very good!! Battered with a very good lemon sauce, lemon pieces and maraschino cherries on top. I loved it! We also had Mushroom beef which was very good! The meat was nice and tender, and the veggies were good! I will definitely be back to this location. I cannot believe they allow the one in Crest Hill to operate the way that it does. Until next time y'all!!!

Agree with some of the other reviewers, food delicious but customer service is awful. The little lady at the desk has a harsh disposition. When she talks it sounds like she's yelling. I don't know if that's a cultural thing and us Americans are too sensitive but it's off-putting. She didn't smile, greet us, or thank us for coming. However, the food is yummy. I hope her younger American born family members reads this and explain to her the importance of good customer service.

Food is delicious. Two problems. Rude manager and staff. I witnessed this manager being rude to a customer on the phone. He was also rude to me when I asked for the item on the window. I was told very curtly it was dine in only. Second problem : don't put pictures up of food that you can't get to go. Makes no sense if I were dining in or out um I guess I should have sat down, ordered and asked for a doggie bag

Been going to this place for years and am rarely disappointed. The whole family loves it. My only complaint is whenever I order extra egg in my fried rice, they charge me, but never add it unless I request it on top.
(5)Zach J.
NO NO NO people this place is not good! I got the Mongolian beef and the vegetables were not cooked enough and hard. The overall taste is not good either besides the the shrimp fried rice which I actually enjoyed. Geesh yelpers you all need better standards!

Awesome egg roll Good food Slow staff

China House is a nicely decorated sit-down restaurant with hole-in-the-wall takeout restaurant prices. Their lunch specials especially give you a lot of bang for your buck: for $5, you get a cup of soup, an eggroll, and an entree with fried rice. I've ordered the egg foo young and the sweet and sour pork, and both were good, but the eggroll and fried rice were rather lackluster. Eh, you win some, you lose some.
(3)Anks D.
Very good food, at a good price. Lunch specials are large portions that are just enough fill you up an then some. Staff is very friendly. This is probably the best Chinese restaurant I have eaten at so far.

Fantastic service and fantastic food, the governor's chicken (Gen. Tso) was perfect, everything was delicious! The yelp reviews paid off and we are completely satisfied... Good place to get some good Chinese food!
(5)Kelly M.
We have been ordering from China House since they first opened...so often that I have their phone number memorized. We have since moved and they won't deliver to the downtown Plainfield area so I have to order carryouts for pickup. Their potstickers are my favorite, I find myself comparing all the other local chinese restaurants to theirs! If you dine in, order off the "special menu"-- fantastic dishes!! The food is consistent and tasty, but the service stinks. The waitresses and the manager seem to have permanent scowls on their face. It's as if you're an inconvenience for them to serve. I tried to use a coupon that they offered and the waitress chuckled when I handed it to her. Very weird.
