This is one or the few places I have found that has Land Shark bottles. Every time I go, the bartender is very friendly, conversational and responsive. The 1/2 lb burger is made on a sub bun instead of a hamburger bun, unlike their 1/4 lb burger. They also lack the basic idea of culinary science by not putting the cheese before the lettuce and tomato. The moisture from these guys made the bread soggy and fall apart near the end of the meal. I would not recommend getting the burger at all. The cheese is supposed to be used as a moisture barrier so the lettuce or tomato doesn't get the bread wet/soggy. Besides the burger, I love the atmosphere and decor. Really good place to check out.

Great Fish Fry on Friday night. Karaoke usually follows around nine, while not "The Voice" quality, it's pretty good. Several family visits with 4 - 10 people at a time. Salad bar is restocked in timely fashion. The crappie and the whitefish seem to be the best and a couple of us (adult son and myself) had seconds. Kids had burgers and fries - scarfed them up. Some of us had chicken, which was very tasty. We always enjoy the fish fry. Beer was cold. Free refills on ice tea and soft drinks. Service was very good despite being very busy on Friday nights. On another occasion a friend and I enjoyed the Fish Fry while eating in the bar area. No complaints. Suggest you call ahead to get on the wait list, or you might be sitting or SRO for a while. Get here early for the Fish Fry or the service declines and the food sometimes runs out. No points for running out of food when the restaurant does a "land office business" on Friday nites. Parking is usually a problem, try a drop off if no space is available.... good luck finding something nearby. From a facility perspective, If you are looking for a WOW factor, it's not here. Older building, somewhat dated motif in restaurant and a bit dingy. Just perfect for a small town guy (me) and a small town crowd. Am going to try the Prime Rib one of these days - heard it was pretty good. Others say not so much. We'll see!

What is the attraction? Only plus side to our meal was the beverages were nice and cold? Ordered Elk burgers, my wife's was salty, mine was cold. But wait, our appetizer came 2 minutes prior to our order, seriously. Back to diner, we are convinced that one of us did not get an elk burger, neither tasted the same, to be honest neither tasted like elk (I hunt elk). My wife's sweet potato fries looked like they were left overs from the other diners that were "warmed" up in a microwave, my "homemade" chips were either salty or soggy, how does that happen. WON'T RETURN, EVER.

Fibs has an excellent bar area with social bartenders and sports games on big flat screen TVs however it is not a sports bar and no where near as loud as one. This if one of the few bars in the area that carry one of my favorite beers - Landshark. That alone will keep me coming back

About 3 years ago or so my girlfriend brought us home fish dinners from fibs..she bragged up the place about how great the food was so I was really looking forward to my meal. She ordered fried fish, they gave us baked, the fish was slimy and had bones it was horrible fish, the baked potatoes were old and gray in the middle, and they left out one order of slaw, and totally forgot all condiments including lemon wedges.Of course after complaining to the owners they wouldn't make it right,in fact they tried to blame her for placing the wrong order REALLY...sorry but if I own a restaurant i'm making all my customers happy, and not just homey town folk that keep me in business.

We tried to think of something good to say about the restaurant when we left and the best we could come up with was that the furnace worked. (It was one of those really cold winter nights). We had the Wednesday special of the margarita and "homemade" tacos. Margarita was overly sweet. Tacos were exceptionally bland. Even the coffee tasted like instant. Not a place that will get a second chance.

Its close to the office so I eat here 3-5 times a week. It has a diverse menu but some great specials. The food is very good and service is usually quick. If you go for the fish fry, be prepared to wait a long time. Its worth it.

Have been to the FIBS in Brodhead a few times and were never disappointed! The prime rib sandwich and all you can eat crab legs are to die for!! This has become one of our favorite places!!

Worst wait time ever! Made reservations around 4 in the afternoon for 6:30pm. Showed up EARLY for our reservation and still wasn't seated until 45 minutes later at 7:15pm. What's the point if making a frigging reservation??????

Went for family fish fry. Food was good and that's where it stopped! The decor is dated and dingy. Waitress forgot our soup and we had to eat it after our fish. Kids meals are pricey and will only feed a small child. My 8 year old left hungry. I may return for takeout only and pick up McDonald's for my kids on the way home.

One day, while out exploring, we happened upon Fibs. I thought it looked a little run down and could use a good cleaning, but decided to just over look that and focus on the food. We asked our server what was the beast thing on the menu and she replied "the prime rib." I do love prime rib, so I decided to go for a prime rib sandwich. When I got it, I tried to cut it in two pieces but I could not cut the meat even with a steak knife. I took the top bun off to further inspect it and it was cold as ice. I know prime rib is generally cooked rare, but that meat looked and felt like it had never been cooked at all. The server asked if I wanted it to be cooked more, but I told her I didn't think cooking it more was going to make it any more tender and by then I was also just disgusted with the whole situation.

Small town place with good (albeit nothing memorable) food. Service has been satisfactory every time.

We love the Friday night fish! It's worth the wait.

Friends in Business? I think that is what FIBS stands for. All I have to say is that the food is SPECTACULAR, the service SUCKS. Everything I have tried has been a winner. I have had a couple different soups, a few burgers, some steak, but really, I'm a rib connesiour, and the ribs at this place, #1. Haven't had any better anywhere else and ribs is my go to order wherever I go. Get the ribs. This place would be 5 star if the inside wasn't so small town dinky (thought they do have a nice aquarium for the kids to look at). Last time we were there I kind of lost my appetite when I noticed one of the fish was dead and a patron walking to the bathroom joked that fish was on special that night. Yuck! Anyway, the waitstaff, they make you wait, to order, wait, for your drink, wait, for your food, wait, for your refill, wait for your bill. Speed it up people, there are like 2 other customers in the place, you should be all over me, unless you wait on tables and make the food, if that is the case I will gladly wait for the ribs...Wednesday night, all you can eat ribs

Fibs is a really good local restaurant that offers something for everyone. Their Friday night fish fry is by far one of the best in the state line. The beer battered French fries are great as well. I would recommend calling the restaurant before leaving to be put on the wait list on Friday Nights. If you are looking for a place that offers really good food at good prices than go check out Fibs. You won't be disappointed.

Typical burgers and bar food. Never been disappointed but never overly impressed. I do feel the prices are a little high. The last few times I have been there is a strong smell of chemical cleaning supplies. It turns my appetite. Staff is usually attentive and friendly. I wouldn't personally choose to go here but I go with friends and it's tolerable.

Food is good. Service is good. Dinning room is dirty! Cob webs on the decor, dark paint, bad atmosphere. I wonder what the kitchen looks like if the front of the house is this bad.

My husband and I recently moved to Roscoe and decided to try out Fibs for dinner the other night. We ate in the bar-area (our choice) so we could get our drinks right away. That was certainly not what happened. Our waitress/bartender was easily distracted and it took her a fair amount of time to even ask us what we wanted from the bar. She did apologize for the wait, and then apologized to the couple next to us for their wait. That's all well and good, but it was a Wed night and the bar was no where near full enough to excuse the wait. On to the food. Prices were quite a bit higher than I expected to see for bar food. Quality was decent enough. My husband opted for the open face meatloaf sandwich and I had the reuben. Both were good, so no complaints. I give Fibs a 3 out of 5. It certainly wasn't the worst place I've ever been, but it definitely wasn't the best, either. We will give it another try at some point, but I'm much more eager to try some of the other local restaurants first.

The burgers, fries and sandwiches are good and it's nice in the afternoons when there is no rush. My family went one Friday nite for fish. We got an assortment of their fish. They have cod, crappie, walleye and one other fish...slips my mind. Anyway it was fine but we couldn't tell the fish apart by the taste. It all tasted the same whether beer batter or breading. Plenty of food not much flavor. The line at the salad bar was long and salad bar was not replenished so a lot of items were low or gone. Very busy but disorganized place. The employees pay more attention to each other than the patrons. It could be so, so much better.

This review is for FIBS North - we have always had wonderful service here! There food is excellent and the place is lovely... It has changed hands quite a few time over the time we have had the house in Albany and this time they have it right... VERY FRIENDLY and clean - only thing is I wish they had decent wine - those individual bottle are not good - if ATTICA can have a restaurant with a wine list surely they can! Go there a couple of times a week.....

This place goes through owners a lot. Went here a month ago and a horrid smell made me want to gag. Not sure what that is. I cant go back. Food is ok but so many owners must drive the prices up. I didnt sit at the bar or have a drink so dont know if it smells over there. Bathrooms are clean. But sorry. I cant go back there.

Fibs has the WORST service on the city. We try to support the local restaurants but I just can't any longer. Every time we have gone we have had the slowest waitstaff and have had to beg someone to bring us silverware. Tonight we attempted to eat at FIBs, the hostess said 35 minute wait, we said ok, we will wait. After 40 minutes I went up to the hostess and asked how much longer and she said 40 minutes. I said when we got here you said 35 minutes and we have already waited 40. These are reasons people go to the chain restaurants. The food at FIBs is just ok, it is nothing special. Don't waste your time or money going to FIBs they obviously don't care about their customers.

Great Food and Service. Salad bar is not great. However, meals are tasty and good portions. Wish a Sides came with sandwiches. Dad liked the Prime Rib special. 4pm on Sunday and it was almost empty

Good burgers. Tavern style. They need a better ventilation system. We could smell several different smells of items charring on the grill. It takes away from the taste of the food. They need more predefined burgers. The "build your own" becomes too pricey. Oh yeah... can we exchange the preserved jalapeños for fresh?

This is for FIBS NORTH. two hours and 10 minutes to be served 5 burgers and fries to our table. Burgers were well done (sawdust), fries were cold and soggy. Backdraft burger without jalapeno peppers and hot sauce, really. Spoke with the manager and she could have cared less. In fact she tried to tell us they've only been open less than a year. WHAT does that have to do with anything. Place has hit the toilet, won't return and will forever bash, strike three. Wife (designated driver) brought up a good point on the way home, wondered if we were all drinking water, instead of beer, if service would have been faster.

We love going here and always get a good meal! The bartenders pour a good drink and make you feel at home!!!

We have been going here for years and about 2 years ago my parents went alone and said a cockroach fell in their drink and the lady said oops and quickly took her drink away. We haven't returned since then but had the idea lets give them another try since it has been so long. It was way less busier than we remember and the food was AWFUL!!! Friday fish fry baked cod was dried out with water downed butter it was so watered down it was almost clear. Then our daughters food she got fries and they were stale and old tasting. When we told the waitress that my fiance couldn't eat his food because it was funky tasting she offered alternative fish we declined so she took the plate and showed the owner. She then came back again a few minutes later again offering different fish we declined again. About ten minutes later she comes with the check and charges me the normal price of everything!!! I told her I didn't eat my fish you saw that and took my plate away and yet you charged me a normal plate price. She huffed and puffed and walked away so we went to the owner and explained to her she huffed and stated that she has fresh fish every single week and its fine I don't know what your problem is. She takes the check from me leaves and we wait about 7 min before the waitress comes back with a new check and a bad attitude and says you should have told me you know. So then we go up to pay and she huffs again with full attitude and says you could have given me your credit card at the table. She process the payment and I did not give her a tip she was so rude and so was the owner and only took $5 off the meal and was very rude to us. I then wrote on the receipt WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Before I could even leave she holds up the check and yells over to the owner "That guy you gave $5 off to look at what he did!!!" with a huge attitude. Horrible service, horrible attitudes, and horrible food!! NEVER EVER EVER EVER WILL WE GO BACK GROSS DISGUSTING AND MEAN PEOPLE!!!

Stopped for lunch. Had the BBQ brisket sandwich. Flavor was ok but the brisket was over half fat. Terrible. Also, when the heat came on, it sounded like we were in the middle of an earthquake! HUGE noise and no one in the restaurant seemed to care. Friendly service but not enough to make up for the lousy food.

Great food, not just bar food. The crappie and cod fish fry is the best around. The burgers are huge, kind of unique and quite tasty. The entrees range from standard salads and such to rather rustically extravagant fried pork tenderloin with a jalepeno creme en glase. Servers and employees have always been great in my experience. Highly recommended

I've been here with my family several times. The seafood surpassed my expectations, the salad bar is so-so, you can't go wrong with the burgers-- well, really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Unfortunately, the service here brings down the star rating severely. I experienced excellent (extra stress on the excellent) service here the in the beginning, but it has seemingly declined as I continued to return. My last visit was the last straw. If it's Sunday lunch rush, but there is no rush... why was I given a table in the very back corner? If there are only three other tables that need to be waited on, why haven't I been acknowledge? Lastly, is there a reason why the family that came in after me got their food orders in before I was offered a drink? Is the 20% tip I usually leave not good enough? Is it because I'm a minority in such a small town? Is it because your waitresses have grown too lazy to even be unable to produce at least a fake smile? It's unfortunate that I couldn't be a regular; I really enjoyed the food here.

stopped here while biking to roscoe il. had the double d burger which was tasty and big. also served up $1.50 pints of berghoff! some senior citizens enjoyed dixieland jazz and dancing in the restaurant.

This is only a review for the salad bar and servers...we frequent there and still there is no improvement on the refreshing of the salad bar.My experience at different establishments have been seeing continued visits from servers to refreshen/restock salads. The servers, some are very nice and do their best to please patrons. Others however, not so much. Seems like there is no"team"work involved to lends a helping hand to the hard working servers. Would be GREAT if management would observe this and improve it. Food is FANTASTIC! Prime Rib, one of the best around and priced reasonably.

After a long day on the bikes we made this our final stop on a Sunday night for the all you can eat crab legs special. Let me say, this place is still 30 miles from home but It was well worth it. Our server was amazingly polite, funny and even told us when we should put our order in for more crab legs. We got there kinda late and they were closing down but still accommodated us like they just opened and told us not to rush. I can't speak for anything else on the menu but except for the crab legs and the salad bar which was average. In all, outstanding service , great food, wonderful experience.

I ordered boneless chicken wings, what I got were chicken nuggets. My companions had the all you can eat crab legs, they said they were to die for.

Frustrating when on your flagship Friday night fish fry running out of cod, farmers potatoes, baked potatoes, cornbread, you get the last bowl of clam chowder and it is only 8:30.Business is good!
