Food was very mediocre, service very slow and inexperienced. Food order taken at least 1/2 hour after we arrived. Food arrived way more than a half hour later. No utensils when food arrived, should have been there before food. Margaritas were average. No reason to return.

Service was great, but the food was awful. I will not be going back. My tostada was caked with about two inches of what tasted like two day old beans. I wouldn't even call the enchilada I had an enchilada. And the steak in my taco was so bland, I didn't even eat it. The food cooked here is not cooked with any heart. They have the potential to be a great restaurant as it is in a great location. Hope they learn to start serving quality dishes.

We visited here the other night. The food was ok, but there are better restaurants. The margarita was flat. It tasted like lemon flavored ice. I've had bottled margarita taste better. Our bill was wrong. We were charged for something we didn't order. The waitress and host were discussing this (in Spanish) and I couldn't understand them. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Don't know what it is about the fiestas out here in this area, they all seem to be going down hill. Came here for lunch and the food was okay for the exception of a rubber band in my pico a small amount of steak in my tacos and poor service. When I brought up the issues no action was taken except to take my pico and offer me lettuce and cheese. Service was very poor with our empty drinks and having to wait for our waiter to return. I'd check the chocolate milk for the kiddos if you get it, it was warm.

Call me crazy, but I like the food here. The service is always fast, friendly and attentive. The thing I really don't like is how loud it is due to it being so open. When the place is packed I have a hard time hearing the person seated across from me.

Maybe just was an off night for this usually good restaurant. I made a reservation a week in advance for a group of 8. After being seated, we waited about 10min to be told there weren't enough menus available for our group, yet. Another 5-10min past before we eventually received menus. The food, which is normally very good, was somewhat average. Not sure if they have a new chef or if was just because it was a busy Saturday night?? Whatever it was, it left us disappointed.

Tried it once and once was enough. It was for lunch. Not that busy. Service was not good but not extremely bad either. Food was awful. Best part was.... I ordered tacos. Steak tacos. Steak had no flavor along with the rest of the meal. It was beyond bland, it flat out had NO flavor.

I was heartbroken when Don Pablo's closed. I tend to prefer my Mexican food a bit "tex-mex". Although Fiesta Cancun is authentic... It appeals to my taste. A very decent alternative. The meat is not at all greasy which I find to be the case at many mexican restaurants. I order one of the combo plates that is extremely generous. The staff is always friendly .

I love Fiesta!! My friends and I love coming here! We've gone many times over the last few years, for birthdays, to celebrate the end of semesters, and sometimes just for fun! Its also great because a couple of my friends are vegetarian and they have plenty of options without having to sacrifice taste. The most recent time I went was a few days ago and I had the chicken fajitas, I almost always have these. When you are seated though, you are automatically given chips and salsa. The salsa is mild and the chips have no salt on them, which I love. If you're in the mood, they also have the best margaritas which come in a variety of sizes, or you can always order a pitcher. The chicken fajitas come with rice, refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, and lettuce on the side. The chicken comes with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. The food portions are large and I generally take half home. The service here is great and fast! Easy place to come for lunch or dinner. I recommend this place to everyone!

driving through the area, we were looking for a good mexican restaurant for lunch. we saw that this place seemed to be rocking for a wednesday afternoon, and gave it a try. the atmosphere itself is clean and colorful, but the service seemed a little off. my kids and husband walked in before i did. i was busy digging my purse out of the trunk of the car, and apparently, they could not wait to get their eat on. when i came into the restaurant, i looked into the dining area to see where my family was sitting. the host asked if he could help me, i told him i was looking for a guy who walked in with three kids, and he just stared me. he actually said nothing. just stared. it was super weird. i finally saw my family after a few tense moments of stare down by the host, and went and sat down. we all ordered, and got our food reasonably quick. the salsa was good. the chips were okay. our food? it was greasy and under seasoned. it was uneatable. it wasn't memorable either. the server seemed almost too busy to be attentive. we waited a long time for him to come back to our table. we didn't get any drink refills. the bathrooms were clean, but kind of jacked. you actually were directed to push a garbage can in front of one of the bathroom stalls in the ladies room to keep the stall door shut. i didn't really care because i had to pee and the bathroom was clean. the bill was a little steep, but not terribly. i will not remember this meal in a week, but at the time, it was just fine.

Staff is friendly enough just not the greatest at service. Everytime I've been, something has been screwed up on the order, from a double serving of beans in lieu of beans and rice, to bringing a chicken chimi instead of enchilada.

I have been there probably close to 50 times and it rocks. It is easily the best Mexican restaurant in Rockford and one of the best restaurants in general in Rockford. Ignore the bad reviews. Those people are clueless.

We came here on our way home to Madison after a long car trip. The food was fine but nothing special. A reasonably authentic Mexican resaurant. Next time I would keep driving and stop in janesville at cozumels Mexican resaurant.

One of my favorite places for lunch! Great food, fast service, and close to the office! (Love the #4 lunch special - chile rellenos!)

I went here for dinner the other night for dinner with a friend. The food was decent. I ordered the Enchilada's Suizas. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their enchilada's. They're my favorite. I have to say the enchiladas were okay. I wasn't overly impressed with them. They were good enough, but nothing I would go out of my way to eat. You get the standard chips and salsa starter. The salsa was watery and lacked flavor. It was more like tomato juice. The atmosphere was pretty good, they have the standard Mexican restaurant. Lots of colors and Hispanic decor. The restaurant itself was clean. The service was kind of lack luster. We would go long periods of times with out drink refills. I would visit again, but it wouldn't be my first choice of Mexican restaurants in town.

Updated review: I visited this place a lot for lunch as it is near my workplace, and it has been pretty darn good. The burrito cho-chos are my personal favorite. The grilled chicken in them is delicious. The service is pretty prompt and friendly, at least at the table. A smile or two at the register might help. One note: don't let them bring you pop/soda from the bar. It's flat. Have them bring it from the rear dispenser.

Authentic my ass! Gross and you can tell the food isn't fresh, just heated up. If you want authentic, try Los Portales!!

A high service cantina. Well prepared with an attention to detail that will please the tastebuds mightily. I ordered off menu to keep my carbs down and they made an excellent avocado salad to go with my Mexican steak that really did the meal.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
