Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. My fiance was in town for work and we were staying at the Comfort Inn with the Sunrise Family Restaurant conveniently located next door. We ventured over for brunch on Sunday and the restaurant was exactly what you would expect for local, homestyle cooking - plain and simple, nothing fancy. They were crowded, but we were seated immediately. We both ordered coffee, which was mediocre at best, but did the job. I attempted to order the sausage skillet, but the waitress explained I couldn't get it with eggs and it would be an extra $1.80 for the eggs, which she thought was crazy so she recommended I pick a skillet that came with eggs and make whatever substitutions I wanted despite the bolded "No Substitutions" on the menu. She definitely went out of her way to save us the whopping $1.80! The skillet was fine - hash browns with breakfast meats topped with fluffy scrambled eggs. It really wasn't seasoned, but adding tabasco and pepper helped. My fiance ordered the corned beef hash with two eggs sunny side up. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The corned beef hash was out of a can, but cooked crispy on the flat top, which was just fine. His hash came with a side of home fries and toast although he was too full to touch either. Our breakfast was $18 for coffee, juice and two meals.

We used to eat here every Saturday after church. However the customer service was crappy. We went else where for awhile and thought we'd try them tonight. We went in, nicely greeted but went to be seated and the table had crumbs all over it. All of the tables were dirty. We ordered. They had a special with Mac n cheese but they didn't make any today so it couldn't be ordered. The elderly couple across from us were complaining about their soup. We got our meal it was good. Then came desert. They didn't order the peppermint ice cream that is on the menu. The tapioca pudding tasted like salt. Overall Customer Service was ok. It's an okay place to eat.

Not very clean and food kinda sucks. A bit pricey for what you get. Of course it is a Ma & Pa's" restaurant. But that shouldn't matter. I ordered a NY Strip and eggs meal that claims to be flame broiled. I didn't notice any sear marks and the quality of the strip was aweful.

My family of three wanted to try the restaurant, we went in and ordered one meal for all of us. It was more than enough! The portions are huge so it is really worth the money, the staff was friendly. Good food, everything was hot and it filled us up, all of us! We are not used to eating so much food.

So we knew we should keep expectations modest since Rochelle is in the middle of nowhere, but it was the halfway point for our families to meet so we decided to give it a try. The food was edible - some in the group were pleased; some were disappointed. There is a wide selection of food, including sandwiches, soups, Italian food, breakfast, burgers, fish, etc. the club sandwich and Reuben got thumbs up; however the "fruit waffles and pancakes come with sugar laden, canned fruit compote dumped on top - not real fruit inside the pancakes. My cup of coffee was not hot, just very warm. Granted it was 2pm, but it's not that hard to keep coffee hot. The service was great; timely, attentive, patient and helpful, even taking pictures for us. The facility could use better upkeep - the high chair we were given was sticky on the seat. The women's bathroom had two stalls, both of which the doors would not close nor lock. The paper towel dispenser did not work, even though I could see there were paper towels inside. Given all of this, we would eat here again as selection for sit down restaurants is limited, but we will try the other restaurants in town first before coming back here. I've given it 3 stars, only as a point of reference... there isn't much else in town that would be better, I'm afraid.

One of three family style dinning facilities. I am suspecting they are all owned by the same family. They each have very similar menus. Staff is friendly. Food is good.

If you need dirt cheap and don't so much care about what you're eating, this is the place for you! Service was great and prices are appallingly cheap, but the food is nothing I'll go back for, even at $15 total for 2 people. Coffee, weak. Ribs, what you'd expect at a Sizzler buffet. Burger, the cheapest pre-made frozen suet cake imaginable. Salad = plain iceberg lettuce. Fried chicken was pretty good, soup was homemade and delicious. Contrary to another review, there is no salad bar. Even if you're unfortunate enough to find yourself in Rochelle, as we were, you can do better.

Man, my hometown has no Yelp love (big surprise). Perhaps this review shall be the first in a series of first reviews for the middle of nowhere Illinois. I have fond memories of Sunrise. The reason I have most of my fond memories is their monte cristo sandwich. To this day I have not had a better monte cristo anywhere else. Sunrise is a fairly straight-forward full-service restaurant that I would classify as a high-end Denny's, with really good food at very good prices. Breakfast at Sunrise was always a treat as a child. Friendly hosts, friendly waitresses, good service, and good food. That's what I remember of Sunrise. That and a giant spinning cake cooler. Here's to hoping everything is still running smoothly for my favorite family restaurant of my youth.
