Restaurant was very clean & the biggest OG I've ever visited. Staff was friendly, there was no wait to be seated which is awesome. Our server was knowledgable of his wines. Ordering took a little longer than expected and I felt slightly rushed w our soup and salad. (He took my plate before I finished, then asked if it was "ok") food was prompt and satisfactory. One thing I found beyond unprofessional was a baby, yes baby, (1 year old at most) being passed around AT the actual bar (which is illegal in IL) between mom (who's an employee), bartender, manager and employees. Then the kid starts fussing so loud we couldn't hear our tables conversation. This went on for most of our dinner. On that alone, we won't go back to this location.

The soup and bread sticks are delicious, the waitress was super nice I had the tour of Italy and I like itbecause you can try the Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. In which I love all three. Now with the taste it was good for not bring a authentic Italian restaurant let's just say that. Right when we walked in we were seated fast work no wait.

Tried to complete advertised customer survey, but found out I must agree to lots of junk mail to enter. So i am on yelp to say my piece. Recent visit was nice, soup and salad were tasty. BUT menu says they have gluten free menu available. When i asked for it, no one could find one. Why advertise what you do not have? Resorted to minestrone, laboriously picking out the little pastas, and dumping the croutons from the salad. Way too much work for me to return.

Me and a group of friends went to this location on friday there were 8 of us it was about noon upon entering the entire restaurant smelled like a bucket of dirty mop water and where they sat us was worse the rug was disgusting it was so hard to eat if that wasnt bad enough we had a waitress who couldn't remember a thing. The food is an entirely different subject the soup for starters had a odd consistency for being a cream based soup and tasted old which is off because the resteraunt had just opened so a fresh batch of soup would be expected 4 of us ordered the crab topped chicken the picture and the plate served to us were completely different it was disgusting tasted mushy and just thrown together the garlic mash was also cold and clay-like my friend ordered the seafood risotto with salmon the risotto was not the proper consistency and had an odd flavor my friend just ate the salmon last but not least one of my friends ordered the chicken scampi when she went to dig in there were multiple stickers in her dish overall it was a horrible experience the only one satisfied with thier food was my friend who ordered a burger and who can mess that up And finally the greatest part of the meal was the diarrhea and vomiting that everyone except the burger guy got will never go to this place again...

I've never had a problem with their To Go service until tonight. My food order was ready on time, but apparently ordering a Bellini ICED tea takes 7 extra minutes to make. The employee behind the counter began making an alcoholic Bellini knowing it was a TO GO order. The manager or supervisor came over and told me that I couldn't take out alcoholic beverages. I didn't order an alcoholic beverage. I ordered an iced tea, Bellini style. I asked for a carrying tray and that extended my stay, they needed to find the trays. My drinks were not placed in the carrying tray for me, I had to do it myself after awful service. To top it off my ICED Bellini tea has no ice! I purposely walked out without a receipt so that I wouldn't have names and no one gets fired. I get it, it was probably a newbie but if you're in the restaurant and hospitality industry you definitely need to step it up! I still left a very small tip for takeout because I strongly believe in tipping. I just hope this review is seen by staff and that notes are taken because service was not up to par.

I've been to this Olive Garden location a few times. I've had to wait for a seat both times...when the place was practically empty. The service is TERRIBLE, the waiter never comes back to check on you or refill your drink in time. There were servers wiping their noses, sneezing in mid air without covering their nose, eating in the opening of the kitchen (I sat near the kitchen area) and playing with their hair. Both times that I've been here there have been other customers complaining to the managers. I WILL NEVER GO BACK to this Olive Garden location, what a waste of money.

Ok, it is what it is. A place to load up on carbs at cheaper prices. My lovely wife and I went in to the all you can eat, salad, soup and breadsticks. I noted that they also had all you can eat pasta bowl special. I ordered the pasta and my wife had soup and salad. The soups are fine, if not a bit skimpy. My slight little wife had three bowls, when one is normally enough. We had not been in a few years and we noted two changes: we thought the breadsticks used to have melted cheese on them , now they don't. Also, the salad seemed to only be iceberg lettuce, no extra greens (too expensive?). Service was just barely ok, we had to ask for silverware, a drink refill and we had to flag him down once or twice. He was amiable. My pasta was ok, I noted that 4 of the 5 pasta options were variations of long thin pastas, or as I think of them, spotted shirts waiting to happen. I did like the three meats sauce. Ultimately, my wife and I filled up for $25.00 (1 drink, tax and tip).

I really enjoy Italian food and with the prices of Olive Garden you expect so much more but they fail in so many areas. The quality of food, just average. Customer service - very poor. Wait times - ridiculous.

Service was horrible. Usually go to the one in Skokie but was in the area. Took more than 45 minutes for my order to be taken. Then they didn't even acknowledge us once seated. Throughout meal the waiter looked agitated and overworked. Will never return again. Appetizer was served with main dish. Food was under cooked, the get a little busy and get all frazzled.

This is my first trip to Olive Garden anywhere. If this is the staple of service and food at all Olive GArden restaurants, I will never return. My meal wasnt bad but for $20, it wasn't worth it either. Way too much sauce. Makes me wonder if they are covering up something. We had an appetizer of 3 things....the calamari, fried zucchini and fried ravioli. I do not think that was calamari. Sure didnt taste like it. And the ravioli, took me a while to gnaw through one of them. Pretty gross. Hope i make it to the toilet later. And the service...omg....we waited 20 minutes between the time she cleared the table, to the time we got our bill while we sat there and she walked right by us a few times.

For anyone with taste buds and knows real Italian Food, The Olive Garden would not be on their 'A' list of Italian eateries in Chicago. But due to the fact that I was pressed for time and starved after my gym workout, I figured how could they possibly screw up a grilled Chicken Breast and a salad? Well, the Parking lot was packed, and after circling 3 times for a space I thought to myself, what the hell are they giving away? And isn't this economy supposed to be bad? I figured they were either running a special, or everyone in that parking lot either came from the gym, and/or had no taste buds.... I would vote for the latter. I finally found a parking space and walked all the way around the place only to find a line running out the door - again, what could the Olive Garden be serving that is so enticing and in such high demand? I passed the whining babies and babies' mommas and went directly to the bar. It was not full so I asked the bartender if I could order at the bar and dine in - she said absolutely! So she yelled out to the other person behind the bar who apologized that she was just too busy to serve dine ins at the bar, but I could get something to go.........Now let's think about this for one second, if you have time to place my order and pack up my food, what in the hell is the difference if I open the bag then EAT IT AT THE BAR? I have not been to an Olive Garden in years - and for good reason - if you are familiar with their endless salads then you would know that they are made-up of nothing more than shredded Iceberg lettuce - almost the texture that is usually on a Taco - even rabbits don't like Iceberg lettuce. Their dressing is like Wishbone, and their rolls are smothered in fake butter and salt - the kind that one could buy at Cub Foods when they used to be in Chicago. My final thought is that last night reiterated my dislike for Olive Garden and I was able to get a grilled Chicken Cesare at Portillo's that was probably better and cheaper than what I would have had at the Italian Denny's (Olive Garden) When I see that many cars in a parking lot of a really crappy Italian Restaurant I realize it's no wonder this country is going nowhere fast.... Cya Olive Garden - nice commercials, but you won't see my cash or me again ever.

So, I guess that this Olive Garden is not a big fan of big parties. As I am reading I am noticing that other people have the same reviews. So we ended up at Olive Garden for a sorority catch up, in fact not that many about only 9 gals. We get there at OG around 7pm hoping to get seated quickly. They tell us about an 1hr. We said thats fine we will just suck it up because we LOVE Olive Garden. So 90Min go by and yet no sign. People going and coming and going and coming and were still waiting. It seemed to me like the restaurant was not even that crazy I cant imagine on a sunday or saturday during lunch! So we are finally seated after 1hr and 45 min. We finally are seated and our waiter is OK not the best takes, us drink and food. When the food finally arrives he forgets someones food. He is very apologetic, but forgets again. That person had to basically eat at home because she did not want to keep us all there. What was suppose to take 2hrs took almost 4.5 hrs. He said the Kitchen was backed up, It was really busy....honestly this place is a joke it seemed like a normal evening to me. WE WILL NOT be going back to this olive garden. They truly have the worst customer service. Also, why do they need like 40 people standing in the front if no one is working? what a a joke! I would give this Olive Garden zero stars!

I really love Olive Garden. I've noticed a few people say that this isn't authentic Italian - almost nothing any American eats is 'authentic.' I think it's delicious for what it is, so get over it. Normally I would give my experience at any Olive Garden at least four stars because the food is always excellent and the service is usually friendly and quick. However, this location was really bizarre. At 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon there was a 25 minute wait. That's so weird considering 3:30 isn't really an eating time (late lunch? super early dinner? linner?). So we decided to wait anyway because we were looking forward to the unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks. We got a drink at the bar. Soon we noticed that there were a bunch of open tables in some spots of the restaurant that had been nicely cleaned and made up and no one was sitting in them. Weird. Why was there a wait if there were several empty tables (including one for a group)? Then we realized what the problem was: this restaurant was so disorganized and chaotic that they created their own wait. There was only a weird wait time because no one in the restaurant was paying attention to the open tables. That is ridiculous. When we were seated we were put in a bizarre back part of the restaurant that was a bit dark (like romantic date dark even though there were tons of lights and it was the middle of the afternoon) and there was no one sitting back there. In our section there were three open tables for quite some time even though there were tons of people waiting. Insanity. I was less than impressed with the fact that we probably waited for nothing and most of the other people were waiting for no reason. It's irresponsible and rude of the entire staff to overlook this kind of thing. Our sever, however, was totally redeeming. Her name was Anne and she was super friendly and attentive. She started her shift with our table and she was around whenever we needed something. She was very, very nice and she came back to offer refills often. She was really the only reason why I'm giving this location three stars. The food is obviously good (it's the same at all of the Olive Gardens) but the rest of the staff was entirely oblivious and bumbling. She was the best part of the meal (well, next to the food). I can't even imagine what this place is like during the evening dinner rush (since there's always a wait). However, you can't really hate Olive Garden. The prices are more than reasonable (especially considering you can have unlimited refills on almost everything you eat) and the food is consistently delicious.

Sorry we didn't tip, the service and the food were horrendous!!! First we were given dirty dishes, I had to ask the server to hand me the cheese after having asked for it at least twice, when we got the food: the food had no taste (chicken Alfredo); they happily replaced our meal with a different entree without hesitation. The food here is soooo not authentic and you can tell it's cheaply made. I feel aweful for the people who come here thinking this place is heaven; they don't know better. This place is a joke. The damn chef came out to talk to chat with the hosts in such a vulgar manner, there is no etiquette whatsoever. The staff consists of inexperienced high schoolers. We were so desperate to get out of here that we forgot my boyfriends credit card, we cancelled it instead of going back for it. We will not be coming here again!

Oscar the waiter- Slow service despite my party informing him we had to complete lunch in 30 minutes. I found him chatting in the back kitchen with our food while we were waiting for refills. We had to ask for the check despite us telling him we needs it right away after our initial order.

I am a HUGE fan of the OG and come here as often as people will allow me too (since I'm the only fan in my group) and I even threaten to have my wedding catered by them. lol I love the minestrone soup, bread sticks, salad, brushetta, stuffed mushrooms, tour of Italy and black tie mousse cake. The mango martini's are perfect (asked the bartenders for the recipe, which she gladly provided me) and I'm a fan of their wine selection. I've been going here for years and I'd say 90% of the time you can expect a wait unless you come right when they open. I never mind the wait since I prop myself right at the bar and start drinking. I must warn people that even that area can get pretty tightly packed as well. I've never had a problem with their service and don't mind when they bring out the appetizers while I'm still chowing down my salad and soup. They are quick and efficient and know a lot about the menu. And they always accommodate my request to be sat away from children. I guess my number 1 tip to people would be to avoid eating in this place if you don't want to wait BUT you can always order your food prior and pick it up which I have done on countless occasions when I cannot find someone to get their eat on with me. If you are looking for some great food, fast service and a place near the mall this is it!

As Olive Garden restaurants go, this one is so-so. If I was rating on just the bar staff, I'd give it 5 stars. This isn't the first time we've been here and it seems like there is always a long wait even at odd hours like 2 in the afternoon. The service is usually pretty good, although we've had a bad server a time or two. The food has always been as ordered, at the right temperature and at a good pace. We usually have a seat in the bar while waiting for our seat and order some drinks. The bar staff is always super friendly and even gave me a sample of a frozen margarita flavor. They made one for someone and the pitcher had a little left over. I asked what the flavor was, because it looked interesting. They said it was berry and poured the little bit into a small glass for me. After giving it a try, I promptly ordered a full size one. :) We went here on Valentine's day and the place was PACKED! We were told it would be a 2-3 hour wait. Well, we decided we had nothing better to do and it had been our plan all week. So we stood (because there were no empty places to sit). After about 15 minutes, we decided to stake out the bar and hope to grab a seat when someone left. Bingo, it worked. So we ordered drinks and sat for the next hour and a half talking and having some really tasty drinks. The bar staff is super there and even went to go check for us on our wait. One thing that really irked me was the bar area was full of kids, young kids (like 5-10 years old). It was obvious that they weren't going to be ordering any bar drinks, so in my opinion, they shouldn't have been taking up seats at the bar. I would think that the owners would want the place full of adults that would possibly order drinks. Although the wait was long, the server once we got to the table was friendly and the food just as good as usual. My husband always orders the Chicken Marsala but with pasta instead of potatoes (the way they first made it when put on the menu). They have never had a problem making it for him, sometimes just come back and verify the order. This time was no exception and our food was just as we ordered.. We'll probably be back, just hopefully not at a time quite so busy.

This place is always packed.. ALWAYS I don't make it a habit of going to chain places, but when with a group and everyone has different pallets we usually end up at a chain establishment. Great service, good drinks and they did not rush us.. we really appreciated that. I had the mixed grill.. that was very good.. salad is always awesome. It is what it is....

Sometimes you gotta fill a craving and sometimes that drug is Olive Garden. Maybe it's the salad, which is made with 1 can of Morton's salt per serving bowl. (DELISH!) Or the breadsticks, which must have sprinkles of crack and MSG. Or the traditional decor straight from Italia with authentic chairs on wheels. (WEEEEEE!) I love it all. We came here at the end of a Memorial Day roadtrip and were pumped. As we walked in, a family said their goodbyes and a granddaughter hugged her grandfather. I wish I had my camcorder - it would have been the perfect commercial. (Cue Italian guy to say "ITSA FAMILY!" in stereotypical accent.) We quickly ran to the bathrooms, which were clean, then were seated immediately at 8PM. As we walked to our table, sounds of Frank Sinatra pumping through the speakers gave me the chills: we were home. When we realized the chills were because we were sitting under an AC vent, we asked to move and they gladly obliged. Our server (James P) was perfect. I asked if the unlimited soup/salad/breadsticks deal was available and he mentioned that it was, but it was about the same price as an entree, which comes with soup or salad, and breadsticks, so props to him for providing a good value perspective. Our water glasses were always full and he was always there when we needed something. He actually kept asking us if we wanted more breadsticks and salad, much to my surprise. Generally, when you come to an Olive Garden, you need a gameplan and you need to hand off duties to all diners involved: ~Olive Garden Gameplan~ You always ask for more salad and breadsticks as soon as they are delivered to your table. If not, the server will disappear until your entrees arrive. By then, they know they got you pinned against a psychological wall, because who eats more salad with their entree? You normally have to break past that wall of uncomfortability and continue to ask for refills until the check arrives. Heck, ask for it after the check arrives. It's like a glass of water - it should always be full. ~FIN~ I guess I was just so surprised that our server was preemptively asking us for more breadsticks that when he asked, my friend did her part and said "Yes" and looked at me. I must have lost my mind when I paused and said "Uhhh sure." Friend scowled at me for losing my cool and making her look like the glutton that I usually am. Friend had the Lasagna Classico and I had the Sausage Rollatini. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the adjacent table's conversation, which centered around illegitimate children and not knowing who the real father was. (Do I hear Maury? Heck yes!) A perfect ending to a Memorial Day weekend. All Conan O'Brien/Jim Cramer jokes* aside, I really like the Olive Garden and this location is one of its finest due to its wonderful staff. Bravissimo! *If you haven't seen Conan's impression of an Italian grandfather going to Olive Garden or the Conan/Cramer interview about Olive Garden, do so immediately.

Reinforcing all the Stereotypes. I'm Italian-American, and I've woken up after two day benders and still look better than the beeyatches they hire, then film on wide lenses for these commercials. Is that a fake nose? Is that necessary? Italians age magnificently... no really: Have you seen my Grandma? There are men still fighting over her! She's in her eighties! I could be hit by an 18 wheeler and STILL rate at least an 8 by comparison....

I've only been to Olive Garden one other time before this and that was more than 5 years ago. I could've waited 5 more years because my past experience was much better than this. My cousin and I have lunch one Saturday a month and she chose Olive Garden. I had soup, salad, & breadsticks. The chicken & gnocchi soup wasn't too bad. A little bland, but salt & pepper did the trick. The breadsticks were tasteless & buttery. How does that happen?! The salad wasn't tossed at all. The dressing was minimal. Where's the flavor, Olive Garden?! My cousin thoroughly enjoyed her meal which I was very happy about since she chose the place. She had the Tour of Italy entree' and she kept saying how much she liked it. This location is in front of a mall and reflected as such. We went around 3pm, by 5pm when we left, the place was crawling with families and there was even a wait to be seated. All in all, it was Olive Garden. I wasn't expecting much, but, perhaps a little flavor would've earned them another star? PS. The make their chocolate martini with Godiva. -Silver lining. :-)

I'll make this fairly short. The food is what you expect at Olive Garden, decent Italian fare. Though the portions of the kids meals are all over the place. My daughter ordered the ravioli and got four little raviolis, my son ordered the grilled chicken and broccoli and received a portion that would've fed me. The service was pretty poor. We felt very rushed, the appetizers had just barely arrived and started when we got our salads. We had just started our salads when the entrees came out. The server had horrible table maintanance, and only asked the very perfunctory "is everything ok?" once during the entire meal. I would go back I would just make sure I had a different waiter. If the service is bad again, I'll let you know.

Who hasn't been eating Olive Garden since they were in high school? I know what to expect, good salad and breadsticks. I just went for lunch today cuz my mommy told me about this dessert that I had to try. I had the seafood portofino which is always yummy. The dessert was the zeppoli which is square donuts with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce to dip in. It was good but not fantastic like my mom made it out to be. I was still full though and content with my meal.

I really want to give one-star, but realizing what OG (no- not Original Gangsta) is meant to be about- I guess they fit their business model just fine. Besides- they do something to their bread sticks to make them damn addictive! Food has never been good here (other than those bread sticks) or any other Olive Garden I have been to, and considering the prices you pay for an entree- I try to stay away from here at all costs. That is why I was quite upset with myself for allowing my colleagues to choose a local restaurant where we could have an after-hours event at. I should have known they would pick this place- but didn't have enough foresight. Food was bad (one massive hair found in one of the dishes), service was bad (we were asked what they should do about that said hair), and the bill was still around $150.00 for seven of us, and not all of us had drinks or dessert. Even now I want to take a star away- this time for their Godawful TV advertisements. When I see those, my blood boils.......... OK- not this particular locations fault- I will let that slide too. OG on Cermak- you are lucky I am such a forgiving man!

I don't usually frequent chain restaurants, sometimes I make an exception for Olive Garden. No more. Enough is enough. We walked in during lunchtime and were told 15-20 minute wait. 45 minutes later we were seated. The restaurant was half empty and we figured they were either understaffed or the manager didn't know how to schedule people on a holiday week. No one offered any explanation. Once we were seated, it took at least 10 minutes to get my husband's Iced Tea. We had to ask 3x for it. Then, it took another good 20 minutes to get our pizzas. Mine came with burnt crust. When we got our pizzas we immediately asked for to-go boxes and a check because, at the pace our server was moving, we would get it by the end of our meal anyways. I was right. They were out of medium size boxes (of course) and we ended up cramming out pizzas into the small boxes. fine. I was charged extra for adding bell peppers (instead of alfredo sauce) but I paid the check anyways and left. +1 star because, on his way out, my husband managed to tell the manager about our horrible experience and she gave him a $25 gift card. That's nice but doesn't fix our bad experience. Since it was my mom's birthday, I just gave her the card as an extra present.

I don't care how "suburban American" it is, I do love the Olive Garden. It's really because of those oh so perfect breadsticks and that signature salad, I've never been to an Olive Garden without Breadsticks and Salad. Lately I've been ordering the Seafood Portifino, which is, in my opinion quite good. This location however immediately gets points off the minute I walk in the door. That's because there were four hosts! One girl, three guys, and a 20 minute wait for us. So for 20 minutes I sat watching two guys lean on a podium joking around with the girl. the other guy goes over to the wall and hops up to sit on a table they had set up. No one had anything to do, Which is a problem that management should be in charge of. Their dress and appearance was adequate, if it had been any less I would have mistaken them for customers who chose to wear black and white. Aside from the unprofessional behavior at the door, Our waitress didn't approach our table with a bottle of wine, I usually like a suggestion and since I know that they normally will offer a specific wine, anytime they don't, I'm led to believe they forgot, or didn't want to take the ten steps to get it since they were already at my table, ( the table we were given didn't even have place settings.) It always ticks me off when things or people don't appear to be completely prepared. After the food was ordered everything turned out fine, I'd definitely suggest a different location if you're considering Olive Garden for a nice evening out.

I am generally a fan. I know the service and the behavior of the restaurant staff can be a bit off but its close to my house and I can always go there for some breadsticks and salad. I feel like writing a review because today I went there for lunch with my uncle and I had this new server Sergei/Sergey. I thought he was very nice. I knew that he was new because he seemed nervous but genuine. He gave us everything we asked for which I appreciate knowing that this was probably his first serving job. And honestly, I have worked in a restaurant for years and even the up-scale restaurants can be gross not just in the form of a "fingernail" so don't be so quick to point the "finger" haha.

My boyfriend and I visited this past weekend for our anniversary. I read the reviews and went there expecting this totally shitty experience and left totally impressed. We were promptly seated and our server was very attentive. As for the food; it was nothing short of AMAZING. It was hot, fresh and nicely prepared. Plus, all of the courses came within an appropriate time frame from each other. I will be visiting again!

Well this Olive Garden can get a little busy once in a while but the service that they provide makes it worth it. Olive Garden is one of my favorite restaurants but this location tends to have really good employees that always ensure that you're taken care off. If you want to have a great meal and good customer service I suggest to come here.

Their fameous soup, salad, and breadsticks with free refills for $6.99 is always a great deal if you can get there between 10am and 1pm. I think for the quality, the dinners are a little overpriced. The service is kind of hit or miss depending on who you get and how busy they happen to be. The main problem with this particular location is they have a real hard time getting your credit card back to you after you've paid! I've been there twice recently and it was a problem both times. The first time I had the presence of mind to notice and ask for it--I've never needed to do that at a restaurant before. The second time we were in a hurry to get going and had already quite a while for the bill. When I got the reciept I signed it quickly and a part of my brain thought I must have already pocketed my credit card since it wasn't there. I came back the next day when I realized my card was missing. They took my ID to match it with the card--I made sure I got that one back. While I was waiting a host explained that they had a large stack of cards to go through and it was going to take a while. It took almost 10 minutes! Apparently, I'm far from the only person this happens to! Anyway, if you've got a hankerin` for soup, salad and breadsticks just make sure you pay at the host's podium on your way out or keep a close eye on your credit card.

I made this trip specifically to catch up with a friend who had NEVER been to Olive Garden before. The wait time wasn't terrible...but they DO need more seating. I started off with the wild berry frozen margarita, which was amazing!! I wanted to try something new on the menu so after a long 20 minutes of looking through the menu, my friend and I finally made up our minds (we were both indecisive). Luckily, our server was very friendly and patient. I ordered the lasagna. I forgot what my friend ordered. A few minutes later our server came back with breadsticks and salad. Then he told me that the lasagna was going to take an extra 20 minutes. We were already starving so I decided to order something else. The lagana fritta, which is fried lasagna. It was pretty good, but different. Not better than original lasagna though. The breadsticks were AMAZING, crispy, hot, buttery and deliciouss! The salad was also very good. Everything was good.

This place sucks. If you want good Olive Garden do yourself a favor and head to Schaumburg. The waitstaff is terrible and the clientell just ruin whatever is left. This is not an upscale italian restaurant, I wouldn't even bring my family here if I hated them.

I really must be a glutton for punishment. I even after I got violently ill on the chicken vesuvio here once, I still go back. (Like they say if you fall of a horse, get back on and ride again- I guess I won't be happy until I am rushed to the hospital to get my stomach pumped). The service is usually very friendly, but not very prompt. Your food will eventually make it to the table, and it might be lukewarm, but your wait person will definitely apologize,(Or if it's your birthday, sing you one of the annoying chain restaurant birthday songs.) You know, I think the bread sticks are the only reason I do come back!

I dont know y everyone else is giving it a bad rating when everything was perfect for me. I went on Mothers Day with my wife and family sure we had to wait for 5 minutes but once we got our table our waiter David was excellent. He didnt talk much but he timed everything. For example our drinks, when ever they were half way full he would refill it up. It was a grate time. He also knew the menu very well. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. I also recommend to ask for the waiter who attended us. His name is David.

This would be the Pizza Hut of Italian Restaurants. The minestrone soup is rock bottom, Kind of like chili, A mismatched taste. The rest of the entrees are mediocre to less. Though one appeitizer plate was passable.

Don't go here. Customer service is horrible and food is mediocre. I've been to several Olive Gardens and have always been very happy with my meal except this one. The food and service here were just not as good and we walked away disappointed both times (one time I can assume I caught them at a bad time but not two). We carryout a lot and have carried out from other Olive Gardens even at 9:30. I called this one at 9:21 and was put on hold for 2 minutes. He came back on the line to tell me "I'm sorry but the kitchen closes at 9:20, we are only open until 10:00". I said "really? You mean I missed the cut off by like 3 minutes?" He told me yes. But here's the thing that makes me mad- If you walk into Olive Garden at 9:56 they still have to sit you and make your meal so why tell me the kitchen was closed? I think it is just poor management and it shows in every part of this chain. Eat at a locally owned restaurant instead!!

Well, well, well, what can I say about this ridiculous "place". I love OG as much as the next person, but if it happened that the only one I could get to was in North Riverside, I'd rather stay at home and eat peanut/butter jelly sandwiches! The food was good but the service was so bad that I almost complained to a manager. Let me clarify the "service" that I'm talking about. The waiters didn't do anything specifically wrong but whats up with the freakin wait time when there are LOTS of open tables & they still got hours to go before closing. Me & my mom had to wait for 25min when there were at least 5 tables (that I physically saw) that were open...wtf. I call this place the "ghetto" OG. For good food & quality service hate to say it but I guess I got to go out to Oakbrook or up North. I gave this "joke of a restaurant" 1 star only because the food was good.

I wonder if something has happened to Olive Garden over the years or if my taste has just gotten better. I remember as a high-schooler we could not WAIT to go to Olive Garden. Now I will say that I am usually not really impressed by anything I get there, except the breadsticks. They always rock. I wish someone would come to my house everyday and make me some Olive Garden breadsticks. But that is where my love affair with Olive Garden ends. I would say most Olive Gardens get 3 stars on the average. However, I have to give this location 2 stars because the wait is always FOREVER! They are right by a movie theater...so I could understand it being busier than your average Olive Garden but holy crap its ridiculous here.

Kissy the waitress is awesome, and not just because of her awesome name! We limped into Olive Garden after an obnoxious shopping experience, and were quickly seated. Kissy quickly served us drinks, came back multiple times until our party could finally get an order together (we're not an easy group!), answered all of our questions, and attentively kept us refilled. Olive Garden food is what it is, but if you are in an Olive Garden you know what you are doing there, and the food was fast, hot, and crunchy where crunchy was a good thing. I'm not usually a big chain restaurant person and am always trying to get everyone to drive 10 more miles for the funky ethnic place that just opened, but if you are in the mood for basic comfort food served well after an afternoon at the mall, this is the place to go. I can even report that employees in the men's room washed their hands like they were about to perform surgery. Kudos!

I've been dining at Olive Garden for over 20 years. My appetizer of choice is the spicy shrimp scampi. My favorite entree which is the one I order most often is the Chicken Marsala. The Stuffed Chicken Marsala is dominated by an excessive amount of cream via the Italian cheeses coupled with the creamy marsala wine sauce. I prefer the simple but tasty sautéed chicken breasts which comes in a savory sauce of mushrooms, garlic and marsala wine. The salad tends to have more onions than desired. Also, the additional meat topping on the salad (new on the menu) for $2.99 is only for the first salad serving. This Olive Garden is located outside a busy shopping mall. The restaurant was not overly crowded or busy. However, they seem to be slightly understaffed since it takes longer than usual to receive refills. My server was nice and did her best, although she appeared to be covering more parties that she could handle. At Olive Garden, the service can make you or break you since the food is consistent at all Olive Gardens.

I come here every few months and usually it is outstanding. However this time I ordered the tour of Italy. The salad and lasagna classico were great but I was less than impressed with the fettuccini alfredo. It was basically buttered noodles with maybe a teaspoon of alfredo sauce on it. Not quite the creamy fettuccini alfredo that I remember from the last few times that I ordered it. I will go back, but next time I will complain if they bring me a plate of buttered noodles again!

Nope! Don't do it. Last night my mom had a taste for olive garden but she didn't want to leave the house. I had stopped by and she asked me if I would pick her up dinner and of course I agreed. She calls and is immediately asked if she could be put on hold for a minute. No Problem- Sure. Well one minute turned into seven. So then while she was on hold I called. Young lady answered the phone and then placed it down then after a few minutes hung up. Soon after someone answered my mom after a total of 10 minutes of being on hold to then ask her again if she could be put on hold. My mom said no and the lady proceeded to take her order. We ordered the Tour of Italy, Chicken Duo and Italian Mac and Cheese w/Alfredo. They told us it would take about 25 minutes. I leave and arrive with about 5 minutes to spare. When I approach the bar, the kind gentleman tending bar told me it would be a few more minutes since they were still working on it. Completely ok since I knew I was a little early. Well another 5 minutes passed and then 10, then 20. At about 25 minutes after my food was supposed to be done another man comes out and begins to charge me. The total he charged me seem low but I saw no receipt yet to investigate as to why. After he took my money he gave me the food and sure enough I was missing the third entree. When I asked to speak to a manager, I explained everything that had happened up to that point- long hold time/hung up on, waited an extra 20 minutes and wrong order. Too many mistakes on one customer. He apologized and said that they had an early mothers day rush......... Really? on a Thursday night? He offered to make the third entree and that it would only take 10 minutes. It had already taken 45 to make two, so I asked for a refund and he could keep the food. He promptly gave me the refund and told me I could take the food if i wanted. The food is always good, I never complain. But olive garden food is the same at every place. Please spend your time and money on a place that has got their **** together. Their employees where kind and understanding but something has got to change.

We had a terrible experience tonight. Our little family of three was seated right away, but that was the end of the good. The waitress took our drink orders and our appetizer order. Drinks came, appetizers never did. The adults were presented with our soup, but our 8 year old waited an extra ten minutes for hers. We got the Breadsticks with her soup. Not 5 minutes later our dinner came out, which wouldn't have been bad had we had time to eat the soup. And then the check came. We were in the restaurant less than 45 minutes. We had shown the waitress the clipboard for a free appetizer or dessert. ..guess we were not doing either of those options. Basically a terrible experience.

It smells like cleaning supplies in here. Parking is free and sufficient. Food is average. Bathrooms are average and service is average. Otherwise, all I can tell you is that we once left because it just smelled bad in the store and we couldn't take it.

I had the smoked chicken mozzarella and it was super bland,on top of that the waiter that was helping us was extra rude .Never came to check on us ,never got my water refilled .I usually dont like writing bad reviews but the service today was totally unacceptable, will not be coming to this location,if you like rude service and bad food then this js your spot..

Has a excellent assortment of soup and salad combinations, I am trying the Tour of Italy and she is having Soup and Salad, as always. Greyson loves the Soup and Salad just like his Mom, probably because since he was in the womb we have been coming here. I think we may find out about stock or franchising opportunity.

Visited this location last week for lunch with my mother, aunt and cousin. We had a nice experience and enjoyed our meals which were made perfectly. The trivia at the table while waiting was entertaining, our endless soup/salad and bread sticks were fabulous, along with our waitress. Management walked around greeting tables and asking how everything was which is how it should be. My only complaint was the odor/cleanliness of the washroom as we were leaving (I went elsewhere), but aside from that - recommended.

Sunday afternoon lunch for party of three a month ago. They said it may be a 30-45 min wait time but sat us in less than 10mins. Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and hard working. We ordered their four course meal promotion which was a great value, and everything was pretty good. It was a lot of food that we all took our left overs.

The kids and I stopped by here tonight for dinner. I don't know if it's me, but every time I come here, as soon as I walk in the door, the waiting area reeks of vomit, unless it's a loud cheese smell. This is my third and final visit to this location. The other two times I came, I thought my disappointment may have been down to just having ate already or had a bad day...but unfortunately third time's not a charm here. Server was friendly enough, however food was very slow to arrive. I did get my appetizer within reasonable time, but I think after that, it was a good 30-45 mins before my entree came out. I have to mention, it was dinner time, but I thought that I'd passed the dinner rush hour (arrived wish). Dessert came out in timely manner after my entree arrived. Maybe it's just this location and I should stop visiting it but I don't regard Olive garden very highly. I did try, at least 3 different occasions and still came to the same conclusion of substandard service, and subpar meals. Oh, and where we were sitting, we were by the bar area...heard dropped glass at least 3 times. Very sloppy.

Had a really nice experience at this Olive Garden. We were starving after shopping and decided to try this location for lunch. We were promptly seated, waitress came by soon thereafter. We decided to get the soup/salad/breadsticks and a small plate of hummus. Everything was delicious!! We were so stuffed. I am a fan of their salad and breadsticks anyway, but at some locations they make them really salty - not here - everything was perfect - and that hummus! So good - wish they sold it in tubs to go!!! Our server was nothing but pleasant the entire time. Best part? We were in and out in an hour! We will definitely be back for lunch since it's relatively close to our office.

Monday Dec 9th, about 1pm We walked in we were seated right away. I love the nostalgia of olive Garden its one of those places I went often with my family when I was a young and my first take on certain dishes Italian. I realize it's a chain and I have eaten at finer establishments but it's like going to apple bees, or bakers square, I'm not above the chain restaurant. You snobs. :) our server was really great. I wish I could Remmber her name. We had two strawberry lemonade Peach grilled chicken Chicken parm with alfredo And two sausage soups. All really good and well portioned for a lunch special.

After having the absolute worst experience there in April 2014 for my wife's birthday, and, having to complain twice (one to restaurant manager and then to corporate), I will say Olive Garden did everything to keep us as a customer. Aside from a free dinner during the visit where we had a bad experience, we gave them a shot today again. They seemed to have new management (whom was way more pleasant), and this time we didn't have to wait 2 hours to eat nor did we have to be ignored by our waitress. We left happy customers, and enjoyed even paying the tip for our waitress. That's how it should be.

I'll admit, I was pleasantly surprised when a friend requested lunch here. I hadn't been in over 15 years. I was not happy she chose this location. My friend immediately ordered the unlimited soup, salad and breads sticks. Again, I was hesitate and went with what she had. I was thrilled after our lunch. Have been back several times. Never tried the pasta or dinner. Staff is ok, definitely trying to be on top of things. Decor and uniforms were more mod. Great value.

Can I give zero stars?? This place is ridiculous! I went with a large group of people to celebrate a birthday. We had called ahead, knowing that the group was going to be large and tried making reservations. 'No can do', we were told. We decided to just suck it up and wait so here we go... We showed up at 4pm to request a table. Our entire party was there, waiting outside, being careful not to crowd the waiting area inside. At first, our wait time was supposed to be an hour long. We had no problem with that. After an hour long wait, we asked the hostess the status on our table and she said they were just waiting for one more table to open up. We asked if some of us could be seated at the empty tables they were setting up for our party and then the others could be seated once the last table opens up. "It's only going to be a few more minutes and then we will sit you all together" we were told. B.S. After an additional 30 minutes, we approached the hostess again and were told that they were still only waiting for one more table. They said that the people had already paid and that they were just waiting for them to get up and leave. 15 minutes later, still no luck. At this point we had waited for an hour and 45 minutes. SEVERAL GROUPS of people that had arrived after us were already leaving after finishing their meal and here we were still waiting to even be seated. And, if I may add, the tables that were already empty had been empty for 45 minutes already. Needless to say, we were not very happy campers. We even requested to speak to the manager about the ridiculous wait time and the lack of customer service and that didn't happen. Not sure what kind of values this this place holds, but it obviously doesn't value it's customers. Do I really need to say that I won't be coming back?

This location was one of my favorites. First off the set up was unique compared to other Olive Garden locations. Parking was very easy to find, and close to entrance. The staff was very polite, and provided excellent customer service. The food was fantastic! Our waitress provided us with phenomenal choices and recommendations. Towards the end of our visit, the manager came by to introduce himself, as well as find out about our visit, also to thank us for choosing Olive Garden. Not many restaurants have managers that put that much effort to show appreciation for our "customer" business. Definitely looking forward to going back. The only downside was the wait. For our waitress to take down our order took about 25 minutes, while food took about another 30 minutes or so to be served.

This is our favorite Olive Garden. Alway have a great experience. Great service food is always hot. Have been there with family member from out of the country and never have had a bad experience. Family members have left Olive Garden and say they loved everything there. Get served fast only time you may have to wait is when it's packed but worth the wait, better then the experience we had at Red Robin. Worth every penny you pay. Never regret the amount of money spent. Luv it!!!!!!

Server was very lazy slow and barely came to our table food was okay not the best and other coworkers were very loud yelling across the restaurant and one of them was singing a very inappropriate song that shouldn't be sung in public if i was a manager i would have fired them on the spot it was around one on a Monday if that helps

I've eaten at this Olive Garden several times, and A-OK would be the best way to describe it. I like the way Claire M described this place: "Italian food for the masses." This isn't where I go when I'm looking for quality Italian food. This is where I go when I'm looking for some comfort food that isn't going to break the bank. Most recently, I came here for lunch on a weekday, so the wait wasn't bad at all. I will mention that previous visits to this Olive Garden for dinner have resulted in a REALLY long wait. I abhor waiting, so on times like that, I would have preferred going somewhere pricier that takes reservations. I digress. For my most recent luncheon, the service was pretty fast. We both got minestrone soup with salad and, of course, enjoyed those signature Olive Garden bread sticks while waiting. This was the first time I ever got the minestrone soup from Olive Garden (I usually go for the baked ziti), but I was pleasantly surprised by how hearty and healthy it was. The soup did not taste too salty and it was packed with beans and vegetables. The salad, of course, was nothing more than iceberg lettuce with some croutons and cheese sprinkled on top. We ended up bringing home an extra container of soup and salad each (we didn't realize that it came with our meal to have a re-fill) and we ordered two extra soups and salads for family at home. The staff was kind enough to include a bunch of bread sticks to go, as well. Overall, we ended up getting a lot of food for a very reasonable price. It's not my favorite, but sometimes it just hits the spot.

I am 7 months pregnant and was craving olive gardens delicious breadsticks. So my husband and I had decided to go eat here for my birthday along with our daughter and soon to be born baby boy. Since our order came with "unlimited" breadsticks and soup, we didn't order appetizers. Throughout the whole time we were there we received a total of 6 breadsticks, didn't get offered more soup just got our plates taken away and service was horrible. My husband ordered a frozen strawberry margarita that took I'm not kidding more than 45 minutes to get. I ordered a shrimp fettuccine Alfredo pasta that was flavorless. My husband ordered a 25$ steak that was ok but really small not worth the money, and my daughter ordered macaroni and cheese that was also flavorless. She said she enjoyed the pop more than anything. It was a horrible birthday experience the food was not the best, service was horrible, the food took too long and we don't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

So Olive Garden isn't bad, but we all know it's kind of, I don't know. The rich man's Fazoli's. Italian food for the masses. Whatever. The food is more than edible and I do enjoy it every now and then. I get that in Chicago it's a blasphemy of sorts to eat here when there are so many great Italian places, kind of like getting chain pizza, but when I'm feeling very cheap and very casual (which is most of the time, come to think of it) Olive Garden works for me. Usually, I just order salad and breadsticks but I've had the portobello ravioli a couple times and liked it, as well as a couple other things. Eggplant parmigiana to name one, capellini pomodoro to name another. I really am a sucker for their breadsticks, though I only allow myself to indulge a couple times a year. I really love their daiquiris and especially their peach bellini. Mmmmmm... Oh and I love that the chairs have wheels. I don't know why, but I do. I guess it's easier to roll away from the table when you're in a food coma from eating too many breadsticks.

This location sux! Came here yesterday evening to celebrate a sibling's bday. We had a party of 20 & were given a 90min wait time which we didnt seem to mind. Little did we know, these people were not trying to accomodate us at all. After two hrs, we decided to leave after being told many times they were waiting for one more table to open up. As we began walking out, all of a sudden they were ready for us. What the f***? Terrible customer service and obviously they couldnt handle the work load. Thus, we ended up saving alot of $ by going to Popeyes down the street & getting a large order ready in 10min for only $50! Thanks OG for blowing us off & having us never visit you again!

Great service but the food here sucks. Have visited on seperate ocassions, I think I would rather stick to the Downer's Grove Olive Garden location. I ordered the fettucini alfredo and the chicken was awful, pasta was bland and my husband ordered chicken carbonara and that was really salty. My mother in law ordered the Tour of Italy and it was dry and looked as if they left it in the oven too long. This is the last time I visit this location.

I am not complaining really. My sister won a $25 gift certificate for Olive Garden and we had dinner there this evening. I think we wound up spending $25 more and at that price I would probbaly go to Danny's in Melrose Park. Just saying. The first bit of oddness was the hostess never acknowledged my sister when she said there were two of us and we prefer a table to a booth. I mean a woman came over and seated us and it was a table so maybe they communicate telepathically? Still a smile would have been nice. The waitress was friendly and we had a salad and teh salad was great. Wait an aside about the trident forks they seem to have... it is difficult to pick up angel hair pasta in a red sauce without wearing said sauce.... so maybe reconsider the cool forks?? I had lasagna and it was decent. Deb has fettucine alfredo, it would have been mom's birthday and that was her favorite dish. The Food was good. We opted to have dessert we both had teh apple crumbleini ala mode. It was decent sort of a small scoop of ice cream, I mean a scoop that makes you want more.... like I want to go get ice cream now...... but the apple thing was pretty yummy. Okay, the carpet really wanted to get vacuumed and if a guy notices that it is starting to get to the level were it can support argricultre .. If we won another gift certificate I would probably go again. But, $50 I would probably head out to Danny's.

I have been going to this location for 15 years. .it has been slowly going down hill..waiter forgot our soup, I order the small plate of shrimp and polenta the shrimp was served over mashed potatoes. I would have questioned it buy our waiter never came back to check on our dinner. Then our check was brought to us while we were still eating. When my husband told the waiter that he forgot our soups and the there was no polenta in our dish he offered to give us free dessert. Which unfortunately what we wanted they were out of. Instead of offering an alternative he said he was sorry and walked away..we are done do not waste your money go to Bucca De peppo

We arrived at noon, the parking lot looked busy but we had no problem walking in and getting a table. By the time we left around 1:30pm, there was a full lobby waiting for tables. I'm a huge fan of their all you can eat soup and salad lunch. I always feel like it makes for a quick lunch stop...not this time. We ordered and waited a good 10 minutes for drinks, then another 15 minutes for the soup and salad to come. Then we must have waited for at least 10 minutes for our server to check back in on us, at which time we had been sitting with empty plates, bowls and cups longing for a refill on everything. I typically go with the minestrone soup, but I decided to change it up a bit this time. The chicken & gnocchi sounded kinda like a chicken dumpling soup which I love. However, I found the broth too be way to thick and rich for my taste. I switched it up for my second bowl and went with Pasta e Fagioli, it was a lot like chili and pretty spicy. I can't say it was my favorite. I think I liked my hubby's Zuppa Toscana better than the two I tried. It was a nice balance of spicy sausage and a much lighter cream broth. Usually the bread-sticks are a big winner, but these bread sticks were not fresh! They were semi hard, lukewarm and completely blah. Aside from the bread-sticks, the food was A-okay. However the service was severely lacking.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
