This place was unbelievable. Everything tasted so fresh. We had the French Dip with killer bread (yummy bread with a garlic cheese sauce) that had the choice of a half order of the most amazing biscuits and gravy on the planet. The best my husband has ever had - and he didn't even use any Tobasco. I had the chicken salad in a croissant with fresh fruit. But the best was the pie. I had the red raspberry pie with whipped cream. I am never going to order pie again ever from any other restaurant. It ruined me. It was hands down the most extraordinary pie - dessert - I have ever had. I wish it was nearby, or then again, maybe I don't...

Pie is the only reason you need to eat at Mytles. Today we ate Dutch blueberry, chocolate raspberry and German chocolate. Delicious as always.

What the hell was I doing in Princeton? Or anyone else for that matter! (Trying to eat Myrtles pie!) I was at the Wally World for work. After spending three hours there I was ready for some chow. I Yelped local eats and Myrtle's popped up. I drove right by it as the only sign is a painted window and a picture of the women on the door. I was greeted and told to have a seat. A drink and menu were lickity split. I didn't hear a soda gun, and there wasn't any pulp in the lemonade. But it was quite tasty for $1.99. I had the reuben on marble rye. It came with cucumber salad that was homemade. It was ok, but they didn't bother peeling the cucumbers and there were big chunks of onion floating around it. The reuben was just average and on the small side for $7.99. I did have a piece of brownie bottom banana pie. It was delicious, but not for $3.99. I thought homemade pie slices at the Blues Café in Kankakee were expensive at just under 3 bucks. The rent in the place that has been here since the 50's cannot be that much. And the décor came with the place. They don't have a fryer and I don't see any modern conveniences behind the counter. Am I paying for the atmosphere. I guess that's the price of home cooking in a town that has a Walmart.

My husband was working at the fairgrounds so the kids & I tagged along for the day. Princeton is a really cute town & Myrtle's was great for lunch. Delicious food, great service, a play area in back for kids & AMAZING pie! A true gem!

We went there for the pie... But they sold out! So we stayed for the soup, cookies, coffee and lemonade. All were excellent. I have never seen a menu with such a huge selection of pies. We will definitely be back.

Breakfast was fine and the atmosphere was great, much better than eating at some Godless chain restaurant. The pies looked excellent, but we didn't try them.

In our cross country travels we always try to eat at independently owned restaurants. Mrytles did not disappoint! It's a narrow long place with a cozy seating area in the back with a kids table and play area! That was a bonus!! My husband and I both had chicken salad and the kids and pb&j, homemade Mac n cheese and grilled cheese. Everything was delicious!!! Service by Courtney was perfect! We were sooo full but got a slice of gluten free pie to go! OMGoodness.... The GF crust was so yummy. Definitely stop here and support small local business! You will be so glad you did!!!

The chili came out at gazpacho like temperature. The french dip was some sort of bbq pulled beef, and the au jus I think was really just the french onion soup. The pie was decent, maybe it was good but after such an unsatisfying lunch I may of been off my game.

Worth driving from the Quad Cities! ! The vegetable quiche was very hearty and delicious pies. Trying something different with a cup of their cream of Khorabi(sp?) Soup. Tasted like a cauliflower type vegetable. My lunch mate had the chef turkey chef salad and it was huge! It was served in something like a large mixing bowl. She she recommended the cranberry dressing, it was delicious! Of course we weren't going to leave until we sampled the pies. What a hard choice to make between the cream pies, fruit pies, pumpkin and sweet potato pies! I ended up taking a whole pie home and getting a slice of something different to eat there. We tried the rhubarb pie and the chocolate cream pie. It was delicious from the filling to the crust. The atmosphere was very homey and the staff very friendly!

Oh my goodness, the very best coconut cream pie I have ever eaten. Friends enjoyed a cup of chili with onions & cheese, plus the dutch apple pie. Everything was delicious.
