Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Giving three stars based on the pizza alone. Customer service and attitude leaves something to be desired. I picked up a pizza tonight shortly before 9:00 on a Friday and got home only to find out the order was completely wrong. Tried calling back FIVE TIMES and nobody answered. Mind you their website clearly reads that they stay open until 10:00pm on Friday and Saturdays. Since I live in town, I decided to drive back and see what was going on, come to find they're closed. It was 9:10. One of the employees let me in, confused. The owner reluctantly gave me my money back, since they apparently weren't going to make another pizza. I pointed out to them they may want to change their hours on their website....very poor customer service. I'll most likely be back, since I've never had an incorrect order up until now, but just a heads up - either change your hours or change what's listed on the website.

Pizza is pretty good if you can get past the smell of abandoned house and cat pee. Plates and utensils are plastic.

My wife in I tried Uncle Lars after several people recommended their pizza. The pizza was EXCELLENT (plenty of cheese, great flavor, and cooked perfectly) ... unfortunately the service was the worst we have had at any restaurant we have ever been to. When we approached the counter, the employee seemed like we were a nuisance. After the pizza came out, we needed our drinks refilled and there was no employee in sight. I walked to the counter and it took several minutes before I even saw an employee, and again they seemed put off that I needed their help. When we were ready to leave, I again approached the counter to pay ... this time I could see an employee sitting behind the glass partition looking at their cell phone ... but again it took several minutes to get their attention, and again it seemed like they were frustrated that we were taking up their time! If we do business again, it will be strictly on a pick up/delivery basis ... and we are undecided if we want to support a business that has such poor service.

Carl F. This is Uncle Lar's Pizza. We are incredibly sorry you had a bad experience. The employee you are referring to is no longer employed with us for many reasons including phone usage at work. We appreciate all of our customers and hope you will continue to patronize our establishment.

This place has the best pizza...period. I live in Austin, TX (originally from Bristol) and my main goal once I visit the Chicago area is to get to Uncle Lar's and have some yummy pizza! I will be there this weekend and I can't wait to have some Uncle Lar's. It's perfection.

After moving to Plano and needing a go-to pizza place, we decided to give this place a shot. Several people had said it was THE place to get pizza in Plano. Um, what? Our pizza (we picked up) was lukewarm, with a soggy crust in the middle of the pie. The toppings/cheese did not adhere to the crust at all, and slid off, no matter what kind of maneuvering or trickery we employed. It was sad. Toppings were odd, too - the green peppers were the consistency of Italian beef peppers, very wet & a dull green in color. The mushrooms, on the other hand, were still raw. I don't get it. They must have bent the laws of physics. LOTS of people recommended them, so I want to try again & see if this was a fluke, but my boyfriend & I both don't really feel like it when you get down to it. Good thing we were watching House of Cards, or I would have cried.

I was told by so many people this place is sooooo good and I HAD to try it. I will say the people there are very friendly but the pizza was terrible. My husband and I LOVE pizza and never let it go to waste but sadly this pizza was a waste. I duno if its because we got mushrooms and they used canned mushrooms put the pizza didnt even smell good. I love the pizza at Maciano's in Yorkville MUCH better. I had to try Uncle Lars but now I know not to go back.

Just revised my review to 1-star. Why? This restaurant now applies a $3 surcharge if you pay with a credit card. I realize credit cards can cost the merchant but this is part of the cost of doing business. $3? They are now making a PROFIT on the credit card charges plus their pizza is not cheap to begin with. Unfortunately I will not be going back here. Too many other pizza joints that appreciate my business. These people deliver a great pizza. Good sausage flavor. Lots of cheese. Plus they will cook it the way you request with cheese NOT browned. Highly recommended.

I was hoping this place would be more like my fav pizza place from where I grew up, or just better than what's available in the area. My hopes were high and I couldn't have been more disappointed. The pizza was WAY overpriced for the finished product. I wouldn't have minded the cost if it had actually tasted good. It was my mistake for not making sure they used fresh mushrooms (canned stinky crap is what came on our pizza). Crust had no flavor, no crisp and now chew. My only positives were the dining room is charming and the staff are very pleasant.

I was in search of a new good pizza place when I found Uncle Lars. I thought their pizza tasted pretty good. It also was cool that they were part of the new super man movie! I would def. go back again.

Great pizza, wish it wasn't such a long drive for me to get there.

Best pizza around! I've lived in the area for 30 years and still haven't found anything that compares. There's a reason they've been in business a long as they have.

We live in Montgomery and drive to Plano just for their pizza. Best pizza I have ever had. Sauce is sweet and you can taste the olive oil in the crust.

lar's was good, but i think they messed with the sauce recipe too much.

Uncle Lar's advertises their pizza as the best in town, and they truly are. We've tried pizza at all the places in the area and Uncle Lar's outshines them all hands down. We've dined there for years and have never had a bad pizza unlike every other pizza joint in town, usually due to freshness of ingredients. I agree with Josette, they are pricey, but they don't have a hard time packing people in or staying open. In this tough economy, I think that speaks volumes about the quality of their food.
