This place is a breath of fresh air to Plainfield. The owner is more then just nice, he's the real deal. I took my wife and daughter here and we had a steak hoagie and a cold cut hoagie. My daughter had a hot dog, everything was delicious and the fries are hand cut. If that wasn't enough ,the owner brought us a sample if the chicken hoagie, and it was fantastic. To finish it off he gave us a sample of the salted Carmel gellato which they have made fresh for them. Everything is homemade and delicious. Bravo to the owners who know how to treat the customers. Tony

The food here is amazing! I was so excited to see a place that really knows how to make hoagys in the suburbs. To finish a steak or chicken hoagy with fries is realky impossible based on how full the sandwich is with meat not condiments! Now they added poutines - pulled pork or chicken! All I can say is WOW!

Well we tried this place for lunch but were unsuccessful in our attempts. Apparently they ran out of bread??? Not sure how a place that is dependent on bread runs out of it. But that was enough for me not to want to return. Sorry but thats just poor management in my opinion. Well wish we had more to offer...

RV's has been on my radar... but my radar is a bit off! Not sure how I missed seeing this when I first visited Peter Rubi's. The owners were very welcoming on my first visit and I was in the mood for a hot hoagy. Oh boy did they deliver, Chicago Chicken Tiny Style isn't the type of hoagy you pick up and chow. Get your fork and knife ready for this meal on a bun. I wish they would serve it a bit differently for the dine in crowd. The plastic knife cuts right through the Styrofoam container. I could only manage half the regular, not certain how anyone could handle the footlong. Delish chicken served piping hot. Not a huge fan of the Gelato Shakes and I'd like to see some natural brewed tea on the menu too. I look forward to exploring more of their vast menu with my visits to Peter Rubi's for my produce. Stumpled upon Tischler's Market today too, so you could say I've found a new trifecta. Don't let the sometimes less than convenient parking lot deter you from a visit here. RV's have an anniversary coming up soon, turns out their anniversary is on my birthday! #VJDay Excited to hear they may open another location at the old Long John Silver's near the Fox Vallley Mall. They are looking into some changes on the menu boards. **Update: I was treated to a sampler for our b-day/anniversary celebration and it's safe to say... everything on the menu is fabulous. The poutine, both pork and chicken parmesan are a must try. The Chicago Style Steak sandwich will make you wonder what makes an Italian Beef so great. They have their own version of an Italian Beef too. Burgers are another must try, along with the original cold hoagy. Get in line for a black & blue hamburger poutine.**

Looking for a real hoagie? Look no further. This is the real deal. A little heavy on the oil (as it should be), heavy on the cold cuts, nice thick fresh bread. I grew up around Philadelphia, so I'm a little picky about my hoagies. This is what I would get at the best places hoagie back home. Think of a Jers-- Mi-- hoagie but much better. I'll be back to try their version of a Philly cheese steak, but it's going to be tempting not to order another hoagie.

I had an unbelievable experience this past Sunday night at RV's. If FIVE STARS means "As good as it gets!" then RV's sets the five star standard. My brother-in-law and I decided to get RV's for dinner the other night after spending the day moving into my new home. We were tired and hungry, and he was interested in trying RV's after hearing me say how awesome it was. When we pulled up, the owners and a couple of employees were walking out and locking up. They close at 6:00 on Sundays, and it was 6:15. However, the owners (husband and wife) are incredible people who love their customers. How much do they love their customers? Enough to unlock the doors, go back inside and make us whatever we wanted. I swear to Buddha this happened. I had Tiny's Steak Sandwich, which was - once again - out of this world. If you're looking for a great meal and want to support a business and good people that totally deserve your money - go to RV's. I'll see you there.

I've been here a handful of times and always 5 stars. I must unfortunately point out that this time was quite unpleasant. I ordered the macho burger, which claims to come with jalapeño peppers. Instead it came with hot giardiniera. Hot is hot, I guess?? No way!!!!! That's terrible because those are 2 Completely different attributes to a sandwich. Owner of Restaurant.....what's going on here???? If you're out of jalapeños, at least advise the customer when ordered. If it's giardiniera, change the darn menu to correctly list ingredients. Your burgers are expensive, and we should get what we think we're ordering. Also, I ordered the burger medium-rare and it came very medium-well. No red/pink at all. Lastly, I ordered the sweet potato fries which came under-cooked and extremely soft & soggy. Based on my previous great experiences here, I'll probably be back. But this is one Bad experience I Hope to soon forget....

Can I give 2 1/2 stars? Things I liked: The steak sandwich was great. The hoagy was average. The service was good. The food took too long to arrive & the food wasn't warm. The prices were too high considering that the portion sizes were kind of small. Still food was good. Ill go back hoping for a bit more. This place fills a needed niche and has lots of potential!

Very clean and owners/employees are very friendly. I thought the steak hoagy was just ok. Tasted a chicken hoagy that my son had and it was great. Will go back and order the chicken. Other reviewers are right, the TV screen menus are bad. The employee actually gave us paper menus.

First time here, but won't be my last! I'm not a "Yelper" yet I felt compelled to write a review. My husband and I shared the Tiny's Steak Special...delicious! We went back for the Chicago Steak Loaded Fries and was not disappointed. The staff is excellent and soooo friendly too. Looking forward to returning.

Finally! I don't have to ride for an hour and fifteen to get a steak sweet! Job well done, thanks to Robert and Leah very nice people with very good food. I shall return again and again.

Can I give 6 stars on the turkey hoagie??? Absolutely delicious!!! The hand cut fries with their sauce (kinda like Arby's sauce) are yummy too. I didn't them to be too expensive at all. I got a 6" (plenty for a moderate appetite) and a small fry which was at least a whole potato's worth. My order was less than $10. I'm sorry I waited so long try it but now we will be back all the time. :)

This place is phenomenal. I ordered the steak sandwich and fries. The sandwich was so good it makes you wanna slap your mama! (Don't really slap your mother. She birthed you) the steak was tender and had a slight hint of pickle. The fries were thick cut and made like Gene and Jude's. Seriously delicious. Go here. Order food.

One of the worst Hoagies we ever had. I had the ham and cheese I figured what can go wrong. Maybe Not! The ham does not even look like ham it looks like bruschetta with allot of marbled fat in it. Tasted pretty bad not even like ham. Piled with way to much lettuce and 1 cup of there oily sauce that saturated the bag by the time we got it home. Service was like slow as molasses. This place will not make it for sure! Just like that crappy BBQ place that went out of business next to them. We need a good place to eat in Plainfield.
(2)Kevin K.
I thought the food was very good but the ordering process is a mess. The menu boards flip to quickly and you don't have a chance to read them. I waited in line for over 15 minutes while the people in front of me tried to figure out the process. Have paper menus that will make everything easier!!!
(2)Patrick J.
Bad business I drove over an hour to get a few sandwiches. It's the day before the super bowl and they state that they ran out of turkey meat. I don't eat beef or pork. Very disappointing. The guy states it would take three hours before turkey meat is ready. I hope the owner reads this.... Not cool. Get it together. Mad customer!
(1)Nisha F.
Hoagy were great! My husband got the original i got a chicken and the kids got hotdogs. The fries were just like i like them freshly cut in house. Owner was a pleasure to meet. Everything was freshly made.We will be returning.
(5)Mikey L.
Stopped in here the other day as its a new business and I myself just opened a new business down the street so why not stop in and show some support. This place was absolutely awesome! From the customer service down to the last bite everything was amazing! If you haven't stopped in here yet, I highly recommend it!

Must try in the Plainfield area great food, great service, affordable and fun place smiles and delicious fresh cut fries with AWESOME SAUCE
(5)Joe M.
This place, this place right here. DOES. NOT. MESS. AROUND. I've been twice now and it's super fantastic. I tried the Chicken hoagy and it has this ridiculously awesome sauce on it. I've also had the Black and Blue burger. The mushrooms and blue cheese were great but the burger was over cooked and it had a great bun. The fries are wonderful as well. They come with a fry sauce (and you're going to want the fry sauce) that tastes like a sweet BBQ sauce and it too is fantastic. Normally they put the sauce directly on the fries but I think you get more of this sweet nectar if you ask for it on the side. The service is great and the chef/owner is very personable. Oh yeah, and gelato, who doesn't love gelato? Do yourself a favor and check it out.

My son and I finally got around to checking this place out. It is our thing to check out little hot dog stands in the area every few weeks we treat ourselves. We walked into an empty restaurant around 6pm last night. Their menu is sort of neat and can be viewed on an IPAD like tablet. To keep with our tradition my son ordered the hot dog with cheese and ketchup. After waiting for 15 minutes for our food to cook it came out... When he got his Dog it was the DRIEST hot dog I have ever seen. It was as if it sat on a roller at a gas station for weeks and weeks. The cheese was hardly visible and pretty dry looking as well. I got the Polish with everything on it minus the sport peppers..., Once my Polish came out the peppers where still on it...no big deal, I'll take it off. Great grilled onions, great tasting sausage but the bun is cheap and most likely bought from Wal Mart. It fell apart after two bites. Any who the only redeeming factor here was the 10, literally TEN fries they put in the basket to go along with the meal. The ketchup they put out was empty and mustard packets all dried up for some reason. I digress the fries ARE delicious, just would have liked more of them. So there are other Hot Dog stands/Hoagy spots not even 2 miles down the road on 59 that for the price are MUCH better than this, if you ever get a Night Out check out Franks.

Worst service received lately.... First time there and sad to say last. Walked in... Never been there before. The cashier seemed to have somewhat of an attitude.... Ordered 2 hot dog meals...we did do separate orders between 2 people. Then the next group (2 people) ordered hoagies and managed to get their food before a carry out 2 hot dog order!!!! And they made one of them wrong!! I would rather go anywhere but here for what they serve!!

Almost five stars !!!!!!!!!! Nice clean very friendly place with good prices, and fresh made to order food. What else could you ask for ? I would have given it five stars but I thought the hoagy had to much of the dressing and I felt the sandwich could of used a little shredded lettuce ( but that is just my personal option ) Everything was just great my 83 year old dad loved this place and believe me he loves his sub sandwiches. Reviewed by the naperville ~Food Dude~ I love this place !!!!!!!!

I love this place and try to stop by every time I'm near Route 59 in Plainfield. The food is always, fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. My favorites are the regular hoagy, steak hoagy, and sweet potato fries. Try them, and you will not be disappointed!

I was sold on the Hoagy on the sign. I walked in to find the Blues Brothers in a perpetual frozen state. And two other people that were real paying customers. I walked up to the counter and a women told me to take my time. I had to. Because the menu board was 2 TV's that kept changing pages. I thought I was going buggy. I go to order and the cashier was still screwing around with the register and I had to wait for her. I ordered the Italian Hoagy. I thought it was with lunch meat, but she told me it was steak. O.K. I wanted fries, but I looked into the kitchen and it was empty. I didn't have time to wait for them to turn the fryers on. Good thing. A foot long with a soda was almost 15 bucks. I don't drink much pop anymore, so I was ready for cold Pepsi. Oh, by the way. We're out of Pepsi! Nice. With all the business they must have forgotten to pay the vendor. I made my choice and went to grab a lid and the only thing they had for my Styrofoam cup was a coffee lid? I waited almost 10 minutes and they bring out a tray with the sandwich wrapped in butcher paper and then again in aluminum foil. I did say that I was eating here. It was piping hot and more than the 12" as advertised. I thought that I was going to get some sort of flank steak for 15 bucks. This looked like a burrito on French bread. It had a good taste with the giardiniera slathered across the top. But as I dug around with the plastic fork they gave me to find that these people must have an onion farm out back. Holy smokes, it was loaded. The sandwich wasn't even cut. Like I was going to pick the whole thing up and shove it in my face. I am on the fence and I was not impressed with this visit. I think the lack of people in the place and the little signs of trouble will probably keep me away.

Visited this restaurant for the first time. Had seen the place but was skeptical decided to finally give it a try. Hands down it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The BBQ sauce was to die for and very flavorful. The staff was friendly and very hands on with us and explaining the concept of the sandwich. The owner Robert came out to greet us and asked what we thought of the food. Me and my family will definitely be revisiting and look forward to Robert selling that wonderful BBQ

Great Food!!! One Of the cooks actually came out of the kitchen to actually help with my order he recommended the steak sandwich his grandfather and Uncle Concocted years Before he was even born and he also suggested that i try the chicken sandwich a family member of his introduced to the menu..before Then i never even knew what a hoagy was !! Thanks For The great expirience guys

I went here with the BF twice the first time I only order the fries because I typically wouldn't eat a hoagy. The second time we went I decided to at minimum have the chicken hoagy after questioning if it was from chicken breast. So the hoagy came and it was in a sauce that I didn't particularly care for. The owner remade the sandwich with the same sauce that comes on the fries. However it was drowning in the sauce so I still didn't particularly care for the sandwich. I suppose when the BF wants to go back I will have the chicken sandwich again however lightly sauced on the top. The fries and ice-cream are to die for! My BF is a total fan. I do believe there should be a question asked about all of that sauce that comes on the hoagy. Just my thought!

I have been eating @ RV's Home of The Hoagy since September Religiously the !!!food is the best!!! I would like to say that I like the "Meal on the Bun" more then the "Tiny Special" or the Angus beef Burgers more than those Great freaking (Hoagy's) but I cant lie I have tried everything and Oh my God I love it all. If I was to have to have a final meal I think it would have to be one of everything from their menu. My girlfriend's son who loves RVs home of the hoagy and he makes me go there and buy him a double cheeseburger and fries extra sticky he loses so much that he wishes the special steak sauce cayman bottles to put in on everything else he eats I hear people talk about the prices but for me and my family quality of the food is so awesome i would pay three times as much just to eat something that I new tasted so great and so fresh thank you for all those who read this and please go in and experience it for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Why did it take me so long to find Rv's Home of the Hoagy. The service is fantastic. My husband loves the steak hoagy. The cupcakes are delish. All of the staff are incredibly nice. I will be back soon and have been telling everyone I know. A real treat!

Great food and service! Clean and has nice decor. If you are familiar with the one on the south side and questioned like I did if this is the real deal, I am happy to report it is! Check them out. I've personally had the turkey, chicken, and steak hoagies. The fries are delicious as well as the sorbet and gelato. We will definitely be regulars!
(5)Eat I.
First off they charge for condiments. Then after I ordered my food a heavier set black guy that was behind the counter told me I shouldn't eat here the food sucks. With an empty place I waited 20 minutes for 1 hot dog.

THE BEST HOAGIE we have ever had!!! The real deal in a deli sandwich! Loaded with meat and toppings like onion, tomatoes, cheese, oil and peppers. I would lighten up on the onions a bit if possible but otherwise, very tasty! It is great food and modern and clean atmosphere. The steak sweet is also a must have. I prefer the sweet relish mix on the side but have tried it both ways. The fries are a bit heavy for my taste but having the sauce on them is a twist. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, at least 20 minutes, but it is worth it!!

Went here on lunch hour with some guys from work. Ordered a double cheeseburger, fries and a drink. $14.29! The menu says certified Angus beef, that may be, but frozen patties and a bun that came out of the fridge. Took nearly 30 minutes to get our orders, and they weren't busy. Girl taking orders was a bit confused, and got my order wrong. Once it finally arrived, I had to talk to the cook to remake the burger. He said he'd make me a fresh one, "not just pull off all the stuff I didn't order". For 14 bucks I should hope so! There are far better places in the area that are quicker, tastier, and more affordable. I'd be surprised it's this place makes it 6 more months. I'm giving it 1 star only because the fries were very good. Myself and my co-workers will not be returning.

My wife and I decided to see what this location had to offer. Let's just say we will be "one and done" customers. Walked in at about 7pm on Saturday night. Some customers had just left with their order but otherwise the place was empty. Met by a very unenthusiastic counter person. She later commented that she was tired and irritable - a nice trait for the service industry for sure! There was no visible menu although the menu board from the previous occupant was still present. When we asked about the menu she pointed to pictures of sandwiches attached to the counter. Actually none of the sandwiches looked very appealing. Then she offered a written menu. Very odd. She further mentioned they were out of hot dogs. My wife wanted a hot dog and I was interested in a Italian beef. I soon learned that there was no Italian beef on the menu. We probably should have left but decided to peruse the menu. After several minutes we ordered (2) steak hoagies, an order of fries, and (1) cup cake. This totaled over $23.00! Our order was entered by someone who apparently was fairly new and not familiar with the order entry system. After about 15 minutes our order was brought to us. Kitchen staff seemed very disorganized. We arrived home and unwrapped our order - we were not entirely sure what we would be receiving. While the sandwich was somewhat tasty (if you like meat drowning in sauce) it definitely was not worth $7.50. Very little meat was provided on each sandwich. The counter girl specifically asked if we wanted the sandwiches cut in half (which was also written on the receipt) but that wasn't done - no big deal. The French fries were pretty good - but I think we got the remnants of the bag as there were very few full size fries - just small odd and ends. Fortunately the cup cake, which was large enough for two to share ($2.79) was very good. Aside from that, a very displeasing first visit. For $7.50, absolutely no value in the sandwich. My wife even asked if I was still hungry after finishing it. They actually called it a "Meal on a Bun". Not really a meal - more like a snack. She isn't a large volume eater by any means - in fact she didn't eat half of the sauce saturated bun. The point being, there was barely enough meat to cover one sandwich let alone two. If you are looking for a great cup cake - give RV's a try. Otherwise, I can't say too much else that is positive.
