I'm from Boston and this place is great! I'm home twice a year and it's great to come to a place that has such food quality! BUT: I agree with another Yelper.... Do not call it a brunch when the buffet is 93% non breakfast... Very weird. That said, as for the person from Chicago who claims domain knowledge on "the real world".... Well get outta your own way. You have no idea what the real world is until you've left your little suburbs...you can't be a city person because I've lived in Chicago Gold Coast and we would've killed to spend so little on such quality. Seems like your local Applebee's is calling you back.

Another reviewer, Teri M., asks "What's wrong with La Salle county?" and points out that Fried Chicken is out of place on a "brunch" menu. Please! What are you, one of them pointy-headed goor-metts? Perhaps you were expecting truffles and fois gras? Since all we have out here are chickens, chicken winds up in everything: fried, in the ravioli soup (mirabolante!) and probably in the cocktails. Remember, out here merely the presence of a tablecloth is sufficient to denote Fine Dining, and a salad fork is whichever of the two identical forks you choose to use for your salad, so put on your finest John Deere cap, scrape whatever that is off your boots, eat your chicken and Praise The Lord. For clarity, in La Salle* county, "brunch" is what we call fried chicken served between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. *NOTE: often pronounced "LAY-sal."

It's a great family run restaurant. Can't find any place like this in the suburbs. I make the trip out from the city to eat their great buffet and some of the best prime rib around. The staff is great an friendly. Have had family get togethers and special occasions in the private back room. Great place!

I will not understand why my parents talked about this place as it was some sort of high brow restaurant. I'm sure it's well over priced for the quality of food. We ate here for Easter brunch and I was very disappointed. of course, I accommodate for the likely clientele and average customer age, but still, I was disappointed in the lack of efficiency and variety of food on a buffet. If you call it brunch, it must include some amount of breakfast or lunch, that is the law. Also, I recommend not having 15 different types of salads and only 3 entree choices, one of which includes FRIED CHICKEN? What is wrong with LaSalle County? And one more thing, it is highly inappropriate for a server to butt in front of customers on the buffet line to fill a to-go buffet order. That is not how you do things in the real world. Two stars for homemade stuffing and good ravioli chicken soup.

Hosted a celebration at the Maples and the food and service were excellent. We had hors d'oeuvres and drinks till midnight. Mario Gaeta and the staff were great!

Most people would eat off the buffet. I don't even know if they have a menu. The buffet has great fish. The corn fritter is a specialty.
