Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

We love their buffet. They have quite a few variety, and good food. One of the best in the area. Staff is friendly at times. They so make sure the dirty plates are picked up. One thing I don't like is that the owners kids run around the place at times.

After reading the reviews, we chose to go to House of Hunan when we arrived in Peru. Even though Master Buffet was closer to our hotel, we drove into downtown Peru. Very mediocre buffet. The sushi rice was sour. My kid didnt even eat the pizza. Very americanized buffet.

I am truly, truly shocked to see positive reviews for House of Hunan. What we experienced was the worst Chinese Buffet I've ever been to. On Mother's Day, we should have known better when we arrived to only 3 cars in the parking lot... This is a small buffet to begin with, and 2 of 4 stations are cold/desert stations. Of the "hot" entrees, the foods were all so cold that I am worried about food safety. The food itself was very low quality, mushy, and bland. Something must be off with their fryer because even fried foods were light tan in color and mushy. We hate to waste food but we ate almost none of the hot entrees we tried. On the cold table, the faux cheesecake was frozen. Not cold or frosty, FROZEN. We ended up eating chocolate cake and almond cookies as we were starving and these were the only things fit for consumption. The waitress did not remove any dirty dishes the entire meal, nor refill soft drinks. She came once during our entire stay and that was to give us our check. Upon paying, two workers kept their conversation going, in Chinese, the entire time without acknowledging my presence whatsoever. They just took my credit card, ran it through, and handed it back without so much as eye contact, thank you, nothing. Rude service on top of this horrendous meal makes for 1 star, and I'd take that away if I could too. There are ample other Chinese buffets in the area, ALL of them are far superior to House of Hunan.

I'd say it's a decent Chinese restaurant. The food is ok, not the best I've had but not the worst. If I'm looming for a Chinese buffet in the Illinois valley area then I'm here.

Buffets are a place to try many dishes, to eat quickly and affordably. This is all of that in a much better than typical setting and twice the selection at almost half the price. I have been to many buffets, including Las Vegas and I don't believe I have seen such a large selection. Like any buffet, going while they are busy (i.e. lunch rush or dinner rush hour) is the most likely way to find freshly cooked food. Also - it's a buffet - so it's not the same as the food that they cook only when you order it - it's been there for a while, keep that in mind.

Great buffet with tons of choices. Family run, friendly and clean. Just happened to stumble onto this place while driving through Peru on my way to Chicago. Beers are only $2.95, too bad I was driving and couldn't have any. Can't get much better this!

Whenever my wife and I get close to Peru, we make a point of stopping for lunch or dinner. This is one of our favorite Chinese buffets. The food is always prepared and presented well. What makes this stand out among other Chinese buffets is the sauces. Their sauces are second to none. The selection is more than can be expected for an out of the way place in a small town. The service is excellent and I love their Blue Bunny ice cream (not soft serve like most buffets). You won't believe the reasonable prices.

This fine establishment suffered from a fire and burnt to the ground, but is now reopening its doors. This is the place to go for Chinese in Peru.
