The atmosphere here beats the food. I recommend sticking to Pizza. Other items proved to be disappointing. I came here with a friend and we ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza along with the Marinated Steak. For dessert we got the Cannoli and the Fudge Brownie. To start with, the waitress failed to take my order correctly and rung me up the Buffalo Chicken Pizza instead of the BBQ Chicken (I only realized this when I was conversing with my friend and caught a glimpse of the receipt). I took personal offense in this mistake because I am not a fan of Buffalo Chicken. At all. In fact, I am the 23-year consecutive President of the Anti-Buffalo-Chicken-Club. Luckily, I was able to let another waitress know of the mistake and the dissonance was resolved quickly. In light of the discrepancy, the BBQ Chicken Pizza was the highlight of the meal. The pizza was a thin-crust, semi crispy with a tangy and sweet BBQ sauce. The pizza was blanketed with a generous coat of cheese and toppings such as small cubes of Chicken, bacon pieces, pineapple, and onions. The steak, on the other hand, fell short of our expectation. Since when did 'well-done' become the placeholder for 'medium-rare?' The jumble of vegetables that the steak skewers were resting on were over-cooked and bland, not at all a representation of fresh. Although the steak meat wasn't prepared as expected, the marinade sauce made the meat shine through. Overall, this dish could have been better. I am sad to say that dessert was also dissatisfactory. The cannoli tasted like it has been sitting in the bakery display case for a long while. The shell was stale while the filling was WAY too sugary and solid. I felt like I was able to taste each individual sugar grain. This was also the case for the Fudge Brownie. I knew what I was getting myself into when I took my first bite, but the amount of sugar in these desserts is insane! These are definitely indulgences that require commitment.

Probably one of the better pizza places in town. Their stuff is extremely delicious. The "order at the counter" setup is kinda strange, but not enough to really affect the rating. I'd recommend the Mushroom or Chicken Parmesan pizzas.

Pros: Great taste, innovative food, friendly service Cons: Parking, location I go to Peoria every couple of years to visit a friend. I come from a much larger metropolitan population, so I'm used to a lot of selection and competition. Occasionally I am pleasantly surprised at what Peoria has to offer, and Sugar is a good example. Sugar is a casual yet trendy restaurant. You order at the cash register and then sit down. The star of the show is the wood fired pizzas, which come in novel flavors like smokey pork chipotle. The crust on mine was thin and crispy. The chipotle gave it extra zing, and I could taste the other spices. We also had a chocolate peanut butter mousse dessert. While not the best dessert I ever had, I was kinda fond of it, thought of it as something you'd get at grandma's house. Maybe because it was served in a mason jar that you get to keep. Sugar is nicely decorated with a brick and wood rustic feel. It's a nice meal for an affordable price, around $15 for my pizza plus dessert. The one bad part is that parking is limited. You may have to walk a bit further to your car than you want in a downtown area.

The food was cold and the wrap I ordered was very dry. I asked for dishes with no onions and they only had two options. Very disappointed.

I have worked and eaten in Peoria restaurants for over 20 years and have heard great things about this restaurant. I was highly disappointed when I walked in and was greeted by the door by who I thought was the owner or manager. We are waiting for a large group to celebrate a birthday and this person approached us and said "are you part of the big party" our exact words were "I'm not sure if they made a reservation or not. Do u know the name its under". "Well of course I do. Are you in it or what" im sorry that is not the way you approach a customer. I will not be back and I will tell anyone who asks about how rude the service was. I have many regulars who follow me from place to place that I work at and Will be sure to pass this experience along to them

I hope Sugar is a sign of things to come in the Warehouse District. The menu is not overwhelming, but has a good variety. I ordered the BBQ pork flat bread and my wife had the wings. The flatbread was light but plentiful. If you like a crisp crust, you need to ask. Mine came out soft. It was completely cooked and not doughy, though. The topping portions were just right and the BBQ sauce was noticeable, but not overpowering. The wings were delicious. Baked, not fried. The sauce was lightly applied but you could dip them in the extra container that came with them. My wife wished she had a piece of bread to soak up the extra in the bottom of the bowl. The couple at the table next to us was raving about the nutella smore dessert flatbread. She said she felt like she should be at a campfire. The ambiance is what you should expect in the warehouse district. Brick, exposed beams, fixtures made from reclaimed wood. The bar has a good selection of craft beers on draft and wine. My only complaint is that I personally wish they had table service. You order at the counter. I was pleasantly surprised at the availability of parking Sugar is a great addition to downtown Peoria. This is the type of place I like to find when I'm traveling to other cities so it will probably attract a good business from the downtown hotel guests. . I hope that all of the locals who are reluctant to venture downtown will get over their irrational fears and try out Sugar, and all of the other great downtown eateries, like Two25.

The Staff: Friendly and interactive. The person running the register needs to brush up on the menu, but I can let this slide for now as the place is still new. The Atmosphere: Very clean, interesting tables, doors hanging from the ceiling. Nicely done. It was a bit chilly, though. The Food: Excellent. I had the meatball sandwich and it was quite good. The meatballs should be a bit more firm, but the bread was crisp, a little chewy, and delicious. The mac-n-cheese is just incredible. It is THE BEST version of this dish I have ever eaten. I will definitely return as often as I can.

Excellent place. The pizza was damn near or on par with an authentic Italian pizza - something that can only be achieved using a wood fire oven. The decor was an interior design project gone right for once - it looks like any items available that seemed to be a part of this factory building were put to good use. Probably one of the best upscale pizza places in Illinois, highly recommended. Pricing is scaled appropriately with the level of quality - paid $40 for two microbrew beers, two side salads, and a Margherita pizza. Portions were fully satiating for a normal sized adult.

I have been looking forward to this restaurant for a while. Everything about this restaurant's food concept should be awesome. Sugar is a new, edgy look added into the warehouse district. Sugar is an excellent idea for a restaurant if it's not busy. Getting there: Parking was a nightmare but that is beyond the restaurant's control. Staff: Extremely Friendly and helpful if available. Keyword: If. Sugar doesn't have table service for all of its customers. After standing in line 15 minutes, we discovered there were not any tables available. Luckily our game of Table Russian Roulette paid off when an extremely helpful staff member was able to quickly bus a table shortly before our food came out. The clientele is also extremely varied, which can be an issue. There are a lot of suit and tie wine connoisseurs next to bohemian foodies and average families. None of which seemed comfortable to be around each other. There were two older, well dressed women that were quite opinionated on the fact we brought our 7 year old child. (There is a children's menu that my daughter enjoyed.) The two women did not make it a secret that it was inappropriate for a child to be there at 7pm. They also made several inappropriate comments about other children in the establishment that were not as well behaved as my child. The waitress rewarded these two women by bringing their food/refills of drinks to their table. I guess it's only table service for some. Thankfully though, both my husband and I are experienced waiters and were able to balance the various plates back to our table. The food: Varied Opinions. We had: Smokey Pork Chipolte Woodfire Pizza - It was delicious, though a little too much fruit (pineapples and peaches) to the point instead of being infusion, it ended up being almost dessert like. Salmon BLT - Delicious, but the bottom portion of the bread was so burnt, my mother-in-law couldn't bite through the bottom. The taste was worth having to saw at it with a butter knife. Kid's Pepperoni Pizza - Delicious, but the cheese was a little rubbery. Stuffed Mushroom - It was just that, one giant stuffed portobello cap. The cap seemed to have been prepared and refrigerated much before it was fired. The thing was extremely packed together and the gouda on top had made a rubbery seal. The woodfire vegetables automatically came with the entree. They were freezer burnt to the point of being uneatable. I also had a side of mac & cheese. It was fired with a pork entree, leaving a weird bacon aftertaste on the top. As I ate deeper into the dish, the pork flavor diminished to just the cheese and it was delicious. On the whole, our visit to Sugar was a disaster. We spent $55.01 on food, and did not have a guaranteed place to eat it. When confronted with the freezer burnt vegetables, the chef argued with my mother in law, saying he chopped those vegetables this morning. I have pictures that show otherwise, unless Sugar is in to serving turned veggies. Though the idea of the food is great, the execution of the idea left a lot to be desired. I might be willing to try it again on a slow day, but for now, I can spend that much money and know I don't have to eat rotten food off my lap.

Overall I really enjoyed the food and the eclectic decor. I would eat here again.....never with children. Not a family friendly atmosphere although there is a kid menu option. The kitchen was unwilling to accommodate our need to have a grilled cheese (two slices bread and one slice cheese, of which we were willing to pay their $6.50 kid price). They had the bread and the cheese but would not accept a special order. So we ordered a calzone no sauce which they served burned. They did replace it and the adults LOVED it.... The picky eater hated it...very very garlicky for a child. Then we were stuck with a crying kid (quietly crying, for tears down face no loud noises he is good) while we enjoyed our wonderful entrees. Hence we had been waiting to try this spot and since we only have option of going out with child, it would have been nice if our simple request for bread and cheese had been accommodated as all other dining in Peoria do (including Salt!). Instead while our taste buds enjoyed the meal our hearts were heavy and the experience tainted. The food was EPIC though. I enjoyed the Salmon entree, hubby had BBQ pizza, friends enjoyed the mushroom pizza and chic parm. All food was delicious. Tea was a strange cloudy color and not good. The layout of this eatery is strange. I understand the concept but the execution is poor. There should be separate entry and exit doors to control congestion. I would return but only with adults. Not at all family friendly and you should avoid with kids.

My husband I and stop in here for lunch regularly. They post a special pizza on their Facebook page that we usually can't wait to try. From the regular menu, sometimes we get the quatro carne, Hawaiian or the BBQ chicken. The outdoor seating area is adorable. This is a gem in a neat up and coming art district! Very cool decor

This place is just okay for a multitude of reasons. Most importantly the line out the door situation. I've only been there once but the line is always to the sidewalk when I went there. Once you get to the hostess you'll order your drinks and food and pay. They will give you your beers and you will wait awkwardly 5 feet from people who are currently eating. Do to this you will inexorably pound your beer before you get your food. Price was also a bit steep for the gauntlet you walk through to get your good. However once you sit and get your food it is some really good stuff. I ordered Mac and cheese and this one in particular was not worth the money or particularly good. However I blame myself for picking that as an entree. The pizza my gf ordered was really really good. Buffalo chicken pizza.

Salmon BLT on the wheat ciabatta was really tasty. Beer selection was good. It's a little weird that you order and pay before getting seated, but even weirder that there is no place for a tip on the credit card receipt. Whatever, this is a good place in downtown Peoria about a mile walk from my hotel

My husband and I decided to try it because we have enjoyed Cracked Pepper (sister restaurant) so much. Not crazy about the way to order at the counter like a fast food place, but after awkwardly standing there trying to see a menu, the cashier offered us a menu to view. I don't mind ordering that way at Cracked Pepper, but I thought Sugar was going to be the kind of place that we would be waited on by a server. Not sure why I thought that, but I did. Anyway, my husband got a pizza and I got a caesar salad. I didn't mind that the salad was about $12 until I got the salad. It was the worst caesar salad I've ever had and that includes a pre-made one purchased at a grocery store. It wasn't lacking lettuce, that's for sure. However, the chicken needed seasoning and the dressing was thin and tasteless. The crutons tasted like pieces of plain bread and were bland. My husband thought his pizza was fine, but overall, the food was overpriced. The atmosphere was fine and I like the decor of the restaurant. My husband bought a brownie on our way out and that was overpriced as well. The display had huge brownies lined up, yet, somehow the woman pulled out a brownie that was half the size of the ones in the display case. Sounds nitpicky, but $5 for a single brownie, it better be a big brownie. Also, on a smaller note, I realize wood fired is their thing, but I reeked of the smell when I got home. I will stick to Cracked Pepper.

I enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza. The crust was thin and crispy, with a good balance of spiciness and flavor. The goat cheese dessert with honey and thyme was delicious.

Being a transplant from Chicago, I've been having trouble finding pizza in central Illinois I can really enjoy, but I'm so happy I tried Sugar. We got the mushroom pizza and it was unreal. The crust was awesome and it was the perfect portion for 2. They also had a decent craft beer list. I would definitely come back. The atmosphere is great too, I'm just not a big fan of ordering at the front and waiting, but that didn't take away from the food.

Sugar is a fun place to eat. We ordered two side salads, a Hawaiian-style pizza, drinks, and a dessert for less than $40. The pizza was great, the dessert was fantastic, and the house made salad dressing was amazing. I recommend checking this place out!

Sugar is awesome. When you walk in ask for a menu... then you order food/beer/wine at the counter. From that point you will take your beer to a table with the hostess and they will bring you your food. Beat pizza in town !

We went to Sugar on a weekday over Xmas break 2013. Had no trouble getting a table. I got the Pork BBQ Chipotle pizza (w/o the pears and pineapple or whatever fruits are in the description) and it was great! The crust was perfect, just the kind I like - thin, but still thick enough to be a little chewy (in a good way). Its the kind of pizza you eat with a fork. My boyfriend got a salmon salad, he enjoyed it. I also tried some kind of strawberry beer they had on tap. As far as parking, there is a teeny lot behind the building, which we were able to get into, but there were also spots on the street in front of the building. Cost - we always joke that no matter what, we spend $25 on Panera, and I think this was right around there for our two meals, a beer, and a soda, so not too bad, and a little fanicer than a Pick Two at Panera. Overall, it was delicious and we'll definitely go back! Lots more on the menu I want to try.

Good pizza with a decent beer selection. We got the wood fired veg, Hawaiian Pizza and side salad with a beer. All was good at a great price. I think it was all just $24. We did decide on a slice of tiramisu after dinner, but that was just okay. All in all a good time and we will return. We went early on a week night and had not trouble getting in and finding close parking.

My favorite place in Peoria! Great food, great staff, great place! I've eaten the pizzas, wraps, & desserts, delicious! Best wings in town! We have them cook our wings without the sauce, and get the sauce on the side. Wonderful! :)

Sugar is a welcome addition to the warehouse district in Peoria. Parking is a little iffy right now, especially with all the construction- so we parked down the street a bit. I decided to play it safe with a margherita pizza and I was not disappointed. Everyone else at the table seemed to like theirs as well. The only complaint is that there weren't descriptions of the pizzas on the menu. My friend ordered the chipotle pizza and didn't expect there to be pineapples on it. A quick little description under each pizza would be really useful. The only other confusion is there is not table service, which can be a pain at peak times. We were there on a busy Friday night so I scoped out a table while my husband ordered the food at the counter. I imagine it would be easy to order your pizza and then turn around and find there are no tables available. It was a nice place overall though and I will definitely return.

Went out to try it with the wife...nice place, good parking, food was excellent. One orders when one walks in the door and then you are seated. Food came to the table quickly, correctly and courteously. The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable, nothing overly formal. There are a couple of televisions playing sports but not significantly observable or bothersome. The beer is interesting and not Bud Light but not obscure German names. A very nice dining experience and good sign of what is to come for the warehouse district.
Third visit to Sugar, this time we tried a salad and a sandwich- Antipasto Salad and Italian Club. The restaurant was very crowded, had to wait a little bit for a table, but not very long and the food come shortly after we sat. The salad and sandwich were good, fresh and tasted of high quality ingredients. But, both needed more- salad more antipasto and sandwich more meat. I will suggest Sugar adds a meat and cheese (antipasto) platter, include hard italian cheeses (Parmesan, asiago, etc), meat (sopresetta, prosciutto, capicola, mortadella, etc) and a bread spread (white bean dip or soft cheeses), and fresh bread. Change the make up every month or season. Hope they continue to do well and expand.

I was there for lunch a few weeks ago. Based upon the fantastic culinary experiences at Salt , a meal at Sugar was a no brainer. It was crowded and the noise level was tolerable. A few more large groups and the noise level might have become an issue. The service was very prompt and efficient. Both of us had the Salmon BLT sandwich and it was DELICIOUS. It was certainly in keeping with their creative and innovative menus and top notch dishes. We were running short of time and so we had to pass on anything else. However, we most certainly return, maybe, for dinner. It is so wonderful to seed anyone take a chance on opening a business, let alone, a restaurant in that block because of all the vacant buildings. I do wonder if when there is a baseball game down the street or on a busy night,, especially, in the colder months if people will be willing to park even a block away to eat there? Still all the pluses Sugar exhibits might even outweigh the possible parking issue. All in all it was a delight to see a new creative and innovative restaurant open in Peoria vs Peoria Heights. Maybe this will start a new trend.

Went right after it opened (not first day, but first month). I am hoping that is why I am only giving it 2 stars. I haven't been back since. I will have to go back to see if they have the bugs fixed. When I went, we got to the counter to order with no problem. But then, after we ordered, we were given a number and no explanation of what to do with it. There was no place to sit or stand with our drinks so we were crammed against a wall with everyone else waiting for a table. I actually finished my beer before we ever got to a table. When we finally sat down, our food almost beat us to the table. Well, three of our foods did. The fourth person's order apparently got lost (because we didn't have a table). One other person's steak was cold. The salmon ordered by one person was good. The sides were good, portions were a little small, but within reason. I fully support having some places in the warehouse district and I appreciate what the city is trying to do. I will have to go back and see what has happened since.

Delicious pizza and an OK value considering you don't have to tip as you order at the door and get your own fountain drinks. I prefer that arrangement. The ambiance was also nice. The deserts looked amazing, but we were too full to partake. Located a few blocks away from the Peoria chiefs baseball field, so ...a great pre-game choice.

I am so on the fence with this place! On the Pros side is the cool interior, yummy pizza and the great wine and beer selection. On the Cons side is the street only parking (don't even act like it's possible to park behind the building, it's full of employees cars and would take a 9-point turn to get backed out of a spot there!), terrible ordering set-up, the need to get up and get your own alcoholic drink refills (the parade through the dining room while everyone notes you are on your third glass), and strangely bad desserts. I've been three times now although in the spirit of full disclosure we did walk off one time because standing out on the sidewalk in line in 10 degree below weather at 8pm in that neighborhood got unappealing super fast. The two actual times I sat and consumed food/drinks were just equally good and bad. New places in Peoria DO get swarmed when they first open so perhaps this will slow down but this place is packed solid from at least 5-8pm every night. Packed as in lines outside, people standing shoulder to shoulder in the ordering area melting your faces off with the power of their combined "WHEN ARE YOU DONE???" stares. I thought the desserts would be from Cracked Pepper but after a single bite, they are definitely NOT. But I would return and have the Smores pizza alone for dinner so sugar-lovers, don't despair! Also thought the BBQ pork pizza was amazing but the BBQ pork sandwich blah with a poor meat-to-bun ratio. Definitely give it a try anytime out of the 5-8pm time period!

The pizzas are great, we are huge fans of Cracked Pepper and really want Salt and Sugar to be just as wonderful and successful. Overall, we like it here, and on a good night, the food is really really good...but we had a few strange experiences....Friday, we ordered chicken wings that must have been cooked next to salmon and tasted quite bad. In our trips to Sugar, we have tried 4 different desserts and all but the chocolate mousse were awful. Do not waste your money My boyfriend and I each took a bite and threw the rest away. Overall, great pizza, sandwiches, entrees. They need to bring the desserts over from Cracked Pepper and ditch all of the current ones though.

Been here 7 times and everytime it has been perfect. We have tried other wood fired pizza in town and they don't stand a chance to Sugar.

What a neat place. It's in an old repurposed building in downtown Peoria, and their specialty is individual-sized pizzas cooked in a wood fire oven. They offer traditional toppings as well as more unusual fare -- BBQ pork with pineapple, or crab rangoon pizza. All of the desserts I've had there are incredible. The one downside might be parking. The lot in back of the building is so tiny you can barely fit in, which means finding a spot to parallel park on Adams.
Went on a Friday night around 6. Traffic/parking stunk because of road construction, but that's not Sugar's fault. Yes, they were super busy. But we were able to order right away and only had to wait 15 min or so for a table. It was WORTH it. I had the Pesto Chicken--couldn't really taste the pesto, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Huge serving: 2 breasts, balsamic glaze was delicious. Lots of veggies. My husband had the Smokey Pork Chipotle Pizza. Husband would have liked deep dish crust, but I tried it and thin crust was right up my alley. Sweet and only slightly spicy. So full we did not get dessert. But we will definitely be back. And will definitely save room for dessert next time.

Went Sat. Nov. 9 around 6:30. Got a table in 20 minutes but WAITED for 1 hour and 20 minutes for food. Brought this to attention of server no response. Talked to owner, also no response or apology or compensation offer. POOR business practice in my opinion. Food was average, nothing to brag about, especially after LONG wait. Hope they can get kinks worked out

This was my 3rd time at your restaurant. 2 of the 3 times were personal celebrations and 1 a business lunch. I have to say with the business lunch the staff was more accommodating then the other 2 times. One staff member (hispanic short lady) stands out the 2 times I was there for personal and I believe she was in management. She was so rude both times, but we try to work past that. You have a great restaurant, the decor and food are a nice change in Peoria. However, with staff members, especially in management that act the way she did will kill your business. Your prices aren't cheap and people willn't be willing to pay their hard earned money for rudeness. I suggest you give this staff member some customer service coaching.

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. My only complaint is that it is set up like a lunch restaurant. You have to get your own refills for drinks. This isn't bad for softdrinks. However, if you want a refill on your beer or wine, and it's a busy night, plan on your food being cold by the rime you get back to your table. If they get this figured out, I'll be a regular.

I have been to Sugar twice now, once for lunch, and once for dinner. The food on both occasions was outstanding. The restaurant is set up like Noodles or Five Guys in that you wait in line to order at the front counter, then you find a table and wait for your food. The first time I came here, there was a pager system that alerted you when your food was ready and you would pick it up at the front counter. The last time I was here, the system had changed to a table number system, where you were given a number to put on your table and your food was brought out to you. I definitely prefer the table number system over the pager system. I do think the system may not be the most efficient for busy weekend nights, though, which is when we were there last. After waiting in line at the front counter for 10+ minutes (with the line out the door), it could be quite a challenge to find an open table on a busy night. Fortunately, they did have a hostess helping people find open tables and making sure people were being seated in the order they arrived. This was helpful! Now, on to the food. I have not been disappointed. The food here is incredible, and there is something for everyone. I have tried the mushroom pizza, the margherita pizza and the mac n cheese, and they have all been delicious. This is some of the best pizza I've ever had, seriously. And the mac n cheese is to die for! There is also a very nice selection of wines and craft brews. For $30, my boyfriend and I enjoyed two gourmet pizzas, a side of mac n cheese, and a glass of wine. Honestly, it was a steal! All in all, Sugar is affordable, delicious, and can offer something for all tastes. We will definitely be back for more!

The pizza was great! We had the barbecue chicken and the place was very cool! However, with it but being very busy we waited 45 minutes for the pizza. Everyone else in the restaurant was delivered their pizza to their table. We had to go and check on our obviously over looked order and keep checking until it was ready and go get it. No apologies or anything. Not sure we will be back but the food was good. It's a shame.

Held a business lunch at Sugar last week on the basis of a recommendation and I was not disappointed! I had a Pepperoni Pizza that is cooked in a wood fire grill. The flavor and size where perfect. A colleague had a sandwich that he reported was excellent. A very welcome addition to Peoria and the warehouse district.

Very pleased with our first visit to Sugar. We went on a Thursday evening at 7, was able to park close, order quickly and grab an open table. Staff could have been better with greeting customers at the door, but the food (we ordered the steak and the salmon BLT) and price more than made up for it. Will return soon to try the pizza. Atmosphere an A+!

I've been to Sugar twice in the past few weeks, and it was great both times. My first trip, I had the Salmon salad and a couple pieces of Margareta Pizza. Being fans of this companies other restaurant Salt, we had to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. As a lifelong resident of the area, it's nice to see this business liven up the area and add to the vision of restaurants complimenting the baseball stadium. Definitely a welcome addition to the area.

Visited Sugar for the 3d time and like the previous 2 visits it was awesome. Food is outstanding, decor is cool love the retro look with recycled doors and old doors made into tables. Tables are set up for 2-5 or 6 people but can easily be rearranged for larger groups. Have had the pizza and it was very good, tongiht had the wings with sweet chili sauce and they were great, the sauce was better than mine. The couscous I had tonight was the best I've ever eaten. My wife and I have dined at 5 star restraunts to dive comfort restraunts and Sugar ranks up there with the best. We feel right at home in the comfy surroundings. Staff is excellent. The biggest compliment I can give is: we will return. A great addition to Peoria. If you require something more upscale and prefer waiters then visit their sister restraunt Salt in Peoria Hghts it is very good also.

My husband and I decided to try after a friends post. We split the Chicken Parmesan pizza and Balsalmic Chicken Sandwich. It was a busy Friday night with many big groups but we got a table quickly. Our food was served quickly after we sat down. Both dishes were excellent and portions generous. The staff was very friendly and chatted with us as time allowed. We will definitely be back.

Amazing experience. The staff was awesome- they did a great job explaining the experience and we loved the food recommendations. I went on Monday evening, so there wasn't much of a wait. Marilyn, the manager stopped by our table several times and that was really cool. My friend and I shares two small pizzas and couldn't resist the s'mores pizza for dessert. We had leftovers (our husbands were greatful for those). I can't wait to go back!

Looking foward to our experience here - especially after it received a perfect review in the Journal Star. Love Cracked Pepper! Decor of the restaurant is great. We were there on a Saturday night around 7:30. Able to quickly order from the counther. Then you put your name in for a table. We had a party of 4. Wait was not long. Once seated our appetizers came out at the same time with our food. Half of our party did not get their entree ( or appetizer ) for 20 minutes after our pizzas came out. When their food did arrive, it was not what they ordered. No apology from staff or offer for comp. The restaurant has lots of potential but it would be much better if they had servers. A restaruant without an identity. Not going back anytime soon.

Wow what a find! When traveling I look to Yelpers to directs to a fun place for food drink or entertainment. Sugar Bistro doesn't disappoint. Friendly service. Fair prices. And really good good. How can you beat that! I had the side house salad, marguerita pizza gluten free, and a beer. Deliver fast. Fresh. The pizza was piping hot. And the beer was ice cold. I like ordering from the counter too. Bon appetit!!

Food is great! Staff is very friendly and cordial, location is great also. Con: parking can be a challenge. Sugar is located in a neighborhood that is quickly becoming gentrified. I would recommend the stuffed bread and Mediterranean wrap. Pizza is great too! Really there isn't anything on the menu that is substandard. Just a great affordable all around restaurant. The only that disappoints me are the crybabies that post to yelp knocking this restaurant. It is unwarranted and picky. This is a gem for Peoria.

Pizza was light & tasty.. The crust was thin yet crispy not like normal pizza crust. I had the basic tomato, cheese, Basel & garlic which was very tasty. My son had the Hawaiian solid and packed with pineapples, peppers, cheese and ham. Also thin crust very tasty. Very good eats...

Yum!!! Amazing wood fired pizza, with a great crunchy crust. Only suggestion is to give the option to add garlic. Go to the brewery down the street and walk here after a beer or two.

I had the Parmesan Chicken pizza and it was amazing!! Perfect thin, crispy crust. Wonderfully flavored chicken, and the cheese is melted to perfection. I saw someone else with the Buffalo Chicken pizza & it looked fabulous - that will be the pizza I try next time. I LOVE chicken on pizza so this place is a delight to me because their menu offers a variety of chicken pizzas. I Split the Mac n Cheese as an appetizer & it was very, very good. Food is great quality & you can tell a lot of culinary thought went into each dish, pizza, wrap, & sandwich (I've had a few sandwiches & tasted some wraps of those in my party but I don't want to make this review any longer than it already is, lol). Definitely, definitely recommended this restaurant when it comes to the food. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of how you order. You order right at the door! It's stressful, crowded - if you come at a busy time - and a little tacky for the kind of food & hip environment it offers. I don't know who thought up that flow, but I don't enjoy it at all. Also, you serve yourself soda & have to go up to the counter every time you want to add something extra, need a change in something, or want a beer. It's just a chaotic set up in my opinion. Regardless of this - you would definitely be missing out if you don't try this place. It's quite the Peoria eatery!

Unbelievable food. I got the Cubano sandwich and it was one of the best I've had. And I've had a lot. The atmosphere is a little loud, so I would suggest sitting outside if you want to talk with friends. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I tried one of their famous wood fired pizzas and it was just as good as I have heard but their prices keep going up everytime I go their it seems

When I asked for pizza, I was recommend to Sugar. From the moment you walk in you can see the wood fire stove heating up a sorts of pizza. The restaurant had a modern feel to it along with a friendly vibe. Seating wasn't a long wait on a Friday night which is always a plus. I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza along with a side salad for dinner and felt the food was overpriced for what was served. The pizza came out hot and fresh but thought that it was too cheesy and when eating the pizza felt the soft consistency of the dough mixed with the BBQ sauce and too much cheese felt too chewy for my preference. Although I felt the pizza was about average, for the price I would have expected better. The salad on the other hand was good and tasted fresh however it was tiny. For about $4 the salad was consumed very quickly and overall just thought it was way too small for the price.

Exceeded my expectations. I like the idea of ordering at the counter and getting my own drink when I want. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bistro was very clean and well up kept. My friend and I had the pesto chicken with potatoes and vegetables-fantastic. I took home a rocky road brownie I believe it was and it was very small for the price-was delicious but at $4.50 for the size of say a Little Debbie cosmic brownie I will not buy another one. Nice addition to Peoria-still more of a fan for Cracked Pepper.

Ok still a fan, however I had the Basil Pesto Chicken the other night. Mayonnaise with a little basil sprinkled in it is not Basil Pesto!! Still tasted good, but a complete let down! Change the name or something!

The website is hip, the decor is cute, simple, retro, & non-pretentious. Pizzas are priced at $10.75/ea (no, they are not large shareable pizzas like Papa Johns), salads start at that price, & the sandwiches are also in that general ballpark. It is a great place to hang out - casual environment, beer & wine available, & yes, yummy desserts. Overall, it was GOOD. Solid, in fact. However, if I am paying $10.75 for a personal pepperoni pizza (hey, nothing wrong with a classic!), I would expect there to be something special that would leave me wanting to come back again. Soon even.

Very diverse menu priced appropriately. Didn't find the counter person to be very friendly and there are no waiters to help refill drinks. Overall pleasant experience with food and atmosphere.

One of my favorite pizzas in Peoria. But because of the counter service, I generally avoid peak times so I can get a seat.

Fun and trendy! The decor was hip, the dessert case was alluring, and there were way too many tasty pizzas to choose from. The personal sized pizzas were thin and crunchy like I like! Not your typical pepperoni or sausage here either, I have the chicken carbonara. I had a hard time deciding between that, bbq, or buffalo chicken. It did take awhile between or orders to get the pizzas all to the table. We were starving so that really is my only complaint; I would def go back again. Great spot for lunch! Update: Just wanted to add I went for a second visit and had an even better dish: Pesto Chicken. Dang, the bacon on that is amazing! Even better than the pizza I had before.

Was very pleasantly surprised by this place! I picked it off of yelp because it seemed pretty casual. I got my salmon to go, but the atmosphere seems so cool and friendly, I can't wait to go back and actually eat at the restaurant. Food was on time for my pickup.

Was in Peoria for a couple days for a business trip. Opened up my Yelp and found this pizzeria with crafty pizza toppings. I ordered a "smokey pork chipotle" which has braised pork, smoked gouda, bacon, peach, chipotle bbq, and pineapple. When I heard the ingredients it had...I could not wait to try such unconventional yet genius mix of ingredients. It did not disappoint - flavor was good (great mixture of sweet and salty) and price was good too.

Just a heads up, I am from the Chicago area and go into the city often to try new and trendy restaurants, and I can therefore be a bit picky. Came on a Sunday afternoon at 4:30 with my family. No problem with parking and no line..obviously because we were the early birds..but still! If u don't want to worry about either of those than come early and you won't have a problem. The food was wonderful. We had the Hawaiin pizza, pepperoni pizza, buffalo wings, and side salads. I really don't have a complaint about any of the food that was served to us! It was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The wings are not crispy, but that didn't bother me! Just saying, if you are the type that wants them super crispy, these are probably not for you. But they are large, hot, and perfectly sauced in my opinion. The only reason I didn't not give Sugar 5 stars is because of the way you order and are served. I like having a server and time to sit and look at a menu. You order at a counter right when u walk in, which puts the pressure on! You fill your own drinks, choose your own table, and get your own refills. If u needed anything else..a side of sauce, for example, you would prob have to go up to the counter. Now I normally would not mind this, BUT the food is kinda pricey. We ended up paying 50.00 for three of us, and having a server would have been appreciated.

Second time eating here. Food was very good but service was awful. First time they messed up my order and was very unapologetic. Today we tried it again. We waited 40 minutes for our food and when I told them, they stated that the machine was out of tape and they lost it and they would get it out soon. Still very unapologetic. At the end they brought us an extra pizza that was was clearly a mistake to make up for the wait. I guess i expect more when I am paying $40 for two small pizzas for lunch. The $40 included 2 drinks (beer) and 1 side salad.

Since I was working nearby I decided to check this place out for lunch. Since I have Celiac Disease I immediately asked if they had any gluten-free options. I was told that I could get either a pizza or a sandwich that were gluten-free. I ordered a pizza and paid the extra $2 for the gluten-free crust. When they brought me the pizza I thought that it was unusual that the crust was puffy, but I trusted them and ate it and went back to work. After about an hour and a half I started feeling very ill. I had this horrible burning sensation in my intestines and started taking rolaids, but it didn't help. Finally, I went back to the restaurant and told them what happened. A server and the cook that I was speaking with were very sympathetic, and the cook found my receipt that proved that indeed, I was served a regular pizza. They offered to refund my money (which didn't fix my problem, but said that the Manager had to do it. As it turns out, the Manager was the young lady that had waited on me earlier. She seemed unconcerned about my welfare and was unsympathetic and unrepentant about her mistake. If you have food allergies, DON'T GO HERE!

I had been told by several people to check out Sugar so I decided to give it a shot. The restaurant is well-decorated and clean - service was quick. However, pizza was not very good. It seems like they are trying too hard to put too many toppings and flavors in a single pizza to be 'neat' but not focusing on making a great pizza. The toppings were uneven, tasted OK, and got cold quickly. Another reviewer wrote that this was one of the top 5 pizza places in Peoria - possible if there was only 5 pizza places; but I wouldn't give it that high a praise. Desserts are good (this is what garners more than 2 stars) - but need to work on the pizza.

Thanks to all the yelpers for pointing me in the right direction. Sugar is very clean and the service was excellent. The wood oven pizza was nice and crisp but not burnt. Good cheese, good sauce and a nice size for one person. The BBQ wings were tender and generously covered in BBQ sauce. The wings were served hot and the portion was just right. The also carry some craft beers and I saw an outdoor patio that would be great during the warmer months. The tables are spaced with enough distance to devour wings in ecstasy...

I really enjoyed my meal at Sugar. I especially liked the artisan stuffed bread. It was amazing. I would have been happy with just that. I really liked the pizza we ordered, but it didn't blow me away. There are many choices of pizza, and I'm really hoping to try a different one next time. I also highly recommend the s'more pizza with Nutella for dessert. It was so rich, I could only eat one piece, but it was delicious. The nutella was layered on thick, and we took some home. I highly recommend stopping here if you are in downtown Peoria.

A wonderful little downtown restaurant with a hipster feel. Everything is done over a wood fire.. This is not my typical food style so sometimes it's hard for me to find something I like here - but not by fault of the restaurant. They have incredible options - great for 10+ year old kids to adult! The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The wine list has been great every time I tried it. The service has always been over the top. The parking can be tricky.. Sometimes I've had to walk a couple blocks but you'll have that with a downtown restaurant. It's worth the time!

Sugar is definitely ok, especially for the culinary desert (note that I didn't say wasteland) that is Peoria. On my visit, we shared a couple pizzas, roasted veggie salad, and a cubano sandwich. If I recall, the chicken pizza was probably the best item, having a nice amount and variety of toppings, save for a creamy drizzle that was a little rich for my taste. The salad was fresh and didn't have iceberg lettuce in it (unlike most "salad" that you'll find in this part of the country), which was a huge plus. The cubano was kind of a failure, since the bread it came on (presumably made with the same dough as the pizza) was soggy and chewy. The ham and the pulled pork filling (or whatever other meat came with it) didn't really work as the ham was sliced thick and chewy, and the other version of pork was on the fatty side. My biggest problem with this place is probably the dough. The dough is too thick and glutenous, either because of the way it is made or the way it is rolled into pizzas and sandwich bread. It doesn't allow for the wood-fired oven to do its magic and properly brown the crust. As a result, the pizza comes off as heavy and doughy, which is a huge negative for me. I appreciate the passion that they clearly put into this food, and I hope they'll have the opportunity to tweak the recipes to get it just right.

Came here on a Friday night. We really enjoyed our meal but since I felt there were two major drawbacks, I took away two stars: 1-The whole seating situation is a nightmare. It's a great place with great food and beverage selections, so of course they're busy. But there's nowhere to wait! We were here in November and it was far too chilly to wait out on the sidewalk, so we waited in the walkway by the bathroom. People were packed like sardines and in everyone's way trying to wait for the table. 2- This is a great place for a pizza. Really. We got two to share between the two of us ladies and finished them both (BBQ chicken and margherita). The ONLY complaint I have is that the toppings weigh down the deliciously thing crust. I could have used way less cheese on my margherita, and then I wouldn't have been so worried about losing all of my toppings when I picked up a piece! Also delicious were the salad and Mac and cheese! We will return, just maybe not at peak hours if it can be helped!

A nice complement to the warehouse district and nearby highlights such as the Peoria Art Guild and Riverfront Museum. Woodfired pizzas and amazing desserts but don't overlook the other items as I have had a nice steak as well. Nice selection of craft beer to go along with a cool vibe and ambience. Order at the counter and wait for seating but there is usually plenty of seating available.

The pizza is good, a thin crust wood fired kind. The best it's the peach bbq. The beverage selection is limited, but they have some good beers available. It can get busy, but service is usually good.

Good thin-crust pizzas, almost like flatbreads. The buffalo chicken pizza tasted exactly like buffalo wings on a pizza. Good industrial vibe too.

In Peoria's vaunted warehouse district, the streets are permanently congested by needless construction cones that sometimes reduce street parking for lunch guests. Sugar's 4 meat pizza is awesome, always delicious. Desserts are superb. So we want them to prosper & grow! But SERVICE is their problem. The concept of having to line up to place your order & pay, then wait for a table can be annoying, especially in winter (when you're out the door in the cold). So during peak times, expect to wait to get in, to order & pay, then be seated, then be served. Better to go during off times, then everything is fine. Travis, the owner, admits in the local newspaper that CUSTOMERS DO NOT LIKE WAITING. And yet, their system has not changed since they opened 18 months ago. Recently, after waiting in line to pay, I waited at my table 20 minutes for my pizza AFTER others at my table had been served. I eventually had to go up to the counter myself to ask the status. My pizza was waiting on the counter along with 9 others. In the same news article, Travis also admitted that for 20 job applicants, only 5 bother to show up for the final interview. Travis, might your job applicants have concern over paltry tipping as a result of the order & pay system? But Sugar's tasty food is worth the wait & parking hassle, so yeah, we'll still keep coming back. But investors should expect Travis to FIX OBVIOUS PROBLEMS. Also, to grow Sugar's business (especially on slow days) Travis should consider catering to The Nest upstairs so business people can schedule working lunches and mid-afternoon dessert meetings. Installing a simple "dumb waiter" pulley would offer fast ROI. Individuals would order & pay via smart phone App: no waiting, no tipping, just good food & convenience! We do appreciate your willingness to continue innovating in the restaurant business in Peoria. Build it and we will come (our feedback is intended to be constructive). Peoria doesn't need any more national chains like Red Lobster, Olive Garden or Applebees. Exceptions include a Jason's Deli or Macaroni Grill.

Went here for the first time this afternoon for a working lunch, at the advice of a coworker. Very nice little place out of the way on the edge of downtown with a good atmosphere. I ordered the Cubano Nuevo, and while the sandwich was tasty, it was also on the thin side when it came to ingredients. Now I'm not a big eater by any stretch of the imagination, and I have no problem paying top dollar for a really good sandwich, but combine a high price and a meager sandwich, and its just not a good value. Now I'll definitely go back again and try their pizza, as pizzas are the true test of a wood-fired kitchen. Based on my initial experience though, I'll be very wary of trying sandwiches again anytime in the future.

I fell in love with this place the first time I walked through the doors. I was told to go here because they had good gluten free pizza. Man am I glad I did! The atmosphere was lovely, as well as the service. They had good decent prices as well, which was something that pleased me. I get tired of paying more because of a gluten allergy! Gets old fast. The pizza was amazing. I mean melt in your mouth good. I hadn't had a pizza that good in a really long time. My husband loved his pizza as well. We both looked forward to coming back again after our first time. The personal pizzas are also big enough that you can share or have leftovers. That's another plus.

One of the better spots in Peoria! The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, the employees were very nice, and 3/4 of us really enjoyed our food! We tried the garlic sauce pizza with arugula and bacon, the spinach salad (very unique dressing, but worked). Another person in our party had the mushroom pizza which was tasty, but one star was taken away because another member of our party had the roasted veggie salad and she wasn't too impressed. For one the roasted veggie were stone cold-kind of leaves a yucky feel in your mouth. They also didn't appear to be all that "roasted." This person has a hard time chewing, so she thought there would be more of the roasted veggies, and less of the lettuce, but unfortunately for her it was mostly lettuce with a few "roasted" veggies. She left most of the greens behind. The bonus was that the desserts are to die for! I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Just if you're looking for lots of roasted (warm) veggies, don't get that salad.

My daughter and I visited this restaurant on Saturday, December 6, 2014, and found it to be absolutely wonderful! We didn't have to wait long to place our order at the counter, and we were seated right away. We found the restaurant very tastefully decorated in re-purposed materials, which I found to be very interesting and very "green". My daughter had the Pesto Chicken, which was so incredibly tender, tasty, and juicy. A picture will be included. And I had the bourbon marinated steak which was absolutely wonderful. A picture will also be included. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant. It would definitely be a great place for date night!

The pizza I had was pretty good. That's the only positive thing I can say. We arrived as a group and waited for one more of our party to join us. Since it is cold we went inside. This place is a "enter, order, take a number, sit down" type of place. Rather than crowd the entrance, we sat down. They weren't busy but the wait staff kept giving us the evil eye. After a couple minutes they angrily said we need to move if we don't order soon. Again, they were not crowded. We ate, and as I said, my pizza was well made. But I won't be back. The wait staff I dealt with is in the wrong profession.

There's more to Sugar's than pizza. A great variety of items on the menu that allows the wood oven to fire many entrees to perfection. In my case, I ordered the Salmon and it was cooked just right. It was firm and tasty. The dressing was a new and delightful experience. I'm an XL but the serving was more than plenty for one trying to get back into L pants. I really enjoyed the green and re-used decor in the warehouse setting. I'll be back!

I love this place. I have tried a few pizzas and other items (mac/cheese, potatoes, etc.), and all of them are good. But the BBQ chicken pizza is seriously one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. The desserts are freakin huge and delicious as well. The ordering process and seating can be a pain during peak lunch or dinner times, but I think it's worth it for the pizza. This is one my favorite places to eat in Peoria. Something unique, locally owned, and really really tasty.

I frequent here regularly and love the food here. Great lunch or light dinner options; food is always fresh and well prepared. It is pricy, but get what you pay for I guess. Nice atmosphere and kept clean. Like the outdoor seating option however the surrounding area doesn't make for great outdoor atmosphere. Really hope the surrounding area follows suit with this place. Parking can be difficult as the space behind is quite tight and only a couple spaces. Once road construction completes it should be better but it's truly a gem of a place but out of the way. Worth a visit if your in the area.

Walked in without a greeting, after standing around for five minutes we were approached by their owner and asked if we were part of a group of seven. Not knowing the number in our party or if reservations were made, we told him the name of the woman we were meeting. He was very rude and asked again if we were a party of seven. He was incredibly sarcastic and pompous in our short conversation and it literally gave us a bad taste in our mouths. As a veteran to the service industry, I am appalled at his lack of friendliness and I will never come here again.

Wow. This place was amazing. I have never had better wings and their pizza was just as good. It will be a hard to come to Peoria and not stop here. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good beer and phenomenal food.

God bless Sugar!! I've eaten here many times and every time the pizza is mind blowing. My favorite is the Margherita but this weeks special was The Rise and Shine. Holy moly!! Finally a breakfast pizza I can get behind. This thing was mind blowing and totally worth the cost! Sausage gravy as a base and tons of lovely layers of flavor. Top it off with some Siracha and you've got it made. I had forgotten what it tasted like until I broke out my leftovers and it was even better the second time!! Better get on it before the week is over!! Or maybe we will get lucky and they'll add it to the menu permanently!! Wink wink!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(3)John H.

(2)Kelli S.

(4)Zack L.
Sugar is a fun place to eat. We ordered two side salads, a Hawaiian-style pizza, drinks, and a dessert for less than $40. The pizza was great, the dessert was fantastic, and the house made salad dressing was amazing. I recommend checking this place out!
(4)Chuck B.
I thought this place was really good, the pizzas came in single servings though. I had the margarita pizza and it was very very good. I will probably come back.
(4)Micheal S.
Sugar is awesome. When you walk in ask for a menu... then you order food/beer/wine at the counter. From that point you will take your beer to a table with the hostess and they will bring you your food. Beat pizza in town !
(4)Golda E.
Fun place in the Warehouse District. Recycled articles are used to create a warm dining atmosphere. Best pizza in Peoria and fresh salads too.
(5)Katrina D.
(4)Don F.

Wonderful! :)
(5)John S.
Love this place... Great food.. Great atmosphere.. Amazing desserts.. One of my favorite places to eat in Peoria!

(4)Chris H.

Very disappointed in my first experience at Sugar tonight. I was really looking forward to dinner with my friends, and from the moment I ordered, it all went downhill. I was told by the girl at the register that I didn't tell her in time that I wanted gluten free crust even though I wasn't done ordering (fine, it was my first time there, and I did request it after soda, but before paying: maybe this restaurant is more strict than other places). I also added stuffed dough, and while signing my credit card receipt, the register girl went to tell the head chef, but not before reminding me again that this was due to me not telling her up front about the GF request. The head chef runs over, looking annoyed, saying, "Does this person know the stuffed dough won't be GF?" Um, I'm standing in front of you, you can ask me if I know that, and that's fine (I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could take some of the GF pizza dough and make some, but, whatever). I stood there while my friend ordered, watching the receipts print, waiting for mine, and the girl just tore the receipts and put them in her pile, never handing me a copy, nor giving me a cup for pop. The waiter who brought the stuffed dough to our table took my number, and when I tried telling her I still had pizza coming, she thought I was asking for it to come out right then. She went to ask, then came back to say I was given two numbers (I was not). She also said I had two tickets (not that I was aware of at this time) and that the pizza wasn't ready yet (which I knew, I was just telling her she took my number when I still had food coming). While we all agreed that the stuffed dough tasted great, my friends' meals were great, but my pizza dough seemed undercooked. The waitress brought boxes after we tried each other's meals, and then the girl from the register came over to the table, asking me if I still had my receipts. I told her she never gave me receipts, and she began telling me she rang up two transactions for me, and she was unable to close the firs0t. I was confused, as I believe anyone would be in my situation, and she explained that since I had added on the dough as gluten free and added on the stuffed dough, and she had already sent the first transaction through, she needed to add on a second transaction. This was the icing on the cake for my experience - I could get past the rest of the stuff: maybe the chef was annoyed or the pop was forgotten because it was busy, or the undercooked dough was a fluke. But, I ordered pizza, then a pop, then asked if I could get the dough gluten free, then ordered the stuffed dough, then gave my credit card - She didn't give me a total in the middle of the four items, or ask if I wanted anything else, or give any other indication that she had "ended my transaction," yet here she was at the table, in front of my friends, in front of other customers, telling me that it is my fault that she rang up two transactions and was unable to close the first transaction. The head chef walked by while this was going on, stood at the table and listened, and walked away. I gave her my card to run again, and she brought it back, with credit card receipts, but no itemized receipts (she did offer to get me a copy of those if I wanted, but, after all this, why didn't she just bring it to me?), and she didn't bring me a pen but asked me to sign, and when I asked my friend if she had a pen, the employee told me I could go back up to the register to use one up there. My original plan upon finishing dinner was to order another pizza to take home to my fiancé, but after everything that happened, I decided against that. It was certainly a strange and disappointing dining experience, and I can't say I will return anytime soon.

(2)Tom D.

(3)Katie B.
(3)Mike T.
Been here 7 times and everytime it has been perfect. We have tried other wood fired pizza in town and they don't stand a chance to Sugar.
(5)C.E. F.
(5)Stacey L.
I love brick-oven pizza. I had high hopes for Sugar, and I was not disappointed! It is a pretty lively atmosphere. So, if you're looking for a quiet night of dining, better go elsewhere. I was a fan of the eclectic décor. They have a nice variety of beers and wine. They had Ace Perry cider on tap, so I was definitely pleased! As you come in, you walk to the counter to order, get your drinks and go to a table (or get on a waiting list--the dining area is not huge). There are tables outside as well, if you prefer. I'll only comment on the pizza, which is what we had. My husband had the buffalo chicken pizza, which he raved about. I had the fresh mushroom pizza. It was excellent. In all, the pizza was awesome, and the beer cold. What more can you ask for?
(5)Libby M.

Hope they can get kinks worked out
(1)Toni Y.
(2)Terence S.
(4)Marie W.
Great food (both pizza and other entrees) great ambience! We haven't been disappointed in anything we've ordered so far!
(4)Sadiq S.
Mushroom Pizza. That's all you have to know.
(5)Emily R.
(4)Lyndsey N.
(2)Eric M.
(5)J K.
Great place. The pizzas are all delicious - the Smokey Pork Chipotle with peaches is my favorite. Their Cubano sandwich is excellent as is the mac and cheese. They have a nice variety of items and a great cozy atmosphere.
(5)Lisa D.
Ordered a mushroom pizza for pickup. Timing was perfect and the pizza was great. Flavors were good. Also got a brownie which was better than expected!
(4)Stephanie T.
(4)Shannon D.
I've been to Sugar twice in the past few weeks, and it was great both times. My first trip, I had the Salmon salad and a couple pieces of Margareta Pizza. On the second visit, I had BBQ Chicken Pizza with Antipasto Salad. I highly recommend you checking this place out. Great environment and crowd. Will definitely be back!!
(5)Jimmy W.
Yes. Absolutely. The pizza is great. Parking and location not perfect, but it's worth it. Almost as good as Al-Abbas Palestinian Chicken.
(5)Mike G.
Great atmosphere! Great food! The wood fired pizza is fantastic, and the "warehouse district" atmosphere is a great touch. Nice restaurant.
(4)Rachelle S.
Love this place. All around experience is fun! Pizza is great, steak is wonderful! Great job Sugar peeps, we will visit again soon! Love that you are improving Peoria!
(5)Tobey B.
(5)Bill C.
(5)Traci S.

(5)Rolf S.

(4)Kristin M.
(4)Chandler R.
Unbelievable food. I got the Cubano sandwich and it was one of the best I've had. And I've had a lot. The atmosphere is a little loud, so I would suggest sitting outside if you want to talk with friends. I would recommend this place to anyone!
(5)Joshua H.
I tried one of their famous wood fired pizzas and it was just as good as I have heard but their prices keep going up everytime I go their it seems
(4)Andrew A.
(2)Kristen C.
(4)Eric D.
Ok still a fan, however I had the Basil Pesto Chicken the other night. Mayonnaise with a little basil sprinkled in it is not Basil Pesto!! Still tasted good, but a complete let down! Change the name or something!
(4)Andrea S.
Soon even.
(3)Alyssa N.
Very diverse menu priced appropriately. Didn't find the counter person to be very friendly and there are no waiters to help refill drinks. Overall pleasant experience with food and atmosphere.
(4)Josh J.
One of my favorite pizzas in Peoria. But because of the counter service, I generally avoid peak times so I can get a seat.
(5)Trista T.
(5)Tiffany F.

(3)JL S.
(4)Nick L.
Easily top 5 pizza in Peoria area! You want this. You need this! No reservations so get there early.
(5)Veronica M.
(4)Hannah A.
(4)J S.
Fantastic dinner and great service! Will definitely come back for the pizza. Meat lasagna and salmon on the menu for us tonight.

(3)Eric L.
(4)Will B.
The pizza is good, a thin crust wood fired kind. The best it's the peach bbq. The beverage selection is limited, but they have some good beers available. It can get busy, but service is usually good.
(4)Jennie C.
Good thin-crust pizzas, almost like flatbreads. The buffalo chicken pizza tasted exactly like buffalo wings on a pizza. Good industrial vibe too.
(4)Jeff L.

(3)Melanie L.
(5)Sunny T.
(4)Suzanne T.
(5)Jason P.
(2)Sunny M.
(4)K S.
Apparently people of Peoria see pretension as classy. Yikes. Food is awful..service is worse.
(1)Nick S.
(5)Brian H.
(5)Kristina H.
(1)Kirby G.
Wow. This place was amazing. I have never had better wings and their pizza was just as good. It will be a hard to come to Peoria and not stop here. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good beer and phenomenal food.
(5)Meredith N.
Wink wink!
(4)Christy D.
This place is FANTASTIC! One of our absolute favorites!!! I've had the balsamic chicken sandwich multiple times, the MAC AND CHEESE... Oh my gosh, DELICIOUS, it has a smokey flavor! Pizzas are great! Salmon salad in yummy! The smores dessert pizza... Always tasty! You really can't go wrong here!
(5)Theresa T.
You guys have out done your selves! Cracked Pepper, SALT and now Sugar. We love all your restaurants! And your the best when catering a holiday party, Thank You! Everything we ordered was fantastic! Salmon, Mac & Cheese, Pesto Chicken, Stuffed Artesian Bread and a Pizza! WOW! wish we didn't live so far, I'd eat here every day.
