The star-rating is adjusted for location--five stars in Peoria might not be as many in New York--even so, this place was pretty good and would give comparable places in Chinatown a run for their money and has better service hands down. Though the pickings are slim for strict vegetarians, the vegetable soup with egg noodles (listed under Hu Tiêu / Mì Rau Cai, though I'm not sure what that means, so maybe I picked from one) was flavorful and the vegetables were prepared well - good texture. The woman who runs the place is a hoot. Good-natured, helpful, and a budding stand-up comedian, she is in herself reason enough to try the place.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Peoria so far. It's a mixed of Americanized Chinese food, but also has deliciously authentic Vietnamese food as well. One of the only places I've actually seen Chinese on the menu (always a good sign for authenticity) in Peoria, so I have to give it props for that. The pho is solid, and definitely top notch for Peoria area. I had their Vietnamese duck with with mushrooms dish, which was enough to last me two meals. Love this place and want to see it prosper - the environment inside reminds me of places in China. From the outside, it doesn't look that great with the yellow paint, but I've grown to love it. Great prices and friendly service make this a fun time!

Excellent and affordable Vietnamese restaurant. I've been coming here for years every time i visit my in-laws (I live in Chicago). The service is great and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. I love the pho broth. Yum!

Only reason for a 4 is because i never give a 5 for a buffet unless it is absolutely perfect and the most delicious and unusual food for a buffet and not just the norm. The food dishes were hot and several varieties were out. The rice was not old or too sticky. The only disappointing thing was maybe the dessert section could have been bigger. Not bad though for $8! Waitress was good at refills and stirring the dishes at the buffet and making sure everything was full for everyone coming in. After my 4 plates it needed refilled!

I have only had the Bahn Mi sandwich. Excellent sandich and bread baked fresh. Highly recommend and am anxious to try the Pho as it looks very good.

The food was tasty and hot. The atmosphere was what you might expect for a typical Asian restaurant. I got the feeling the restaurant caters to take-out more than dine in. The pho I had was good. Although, it doesn't really compare to other pho I've had on Argyle street.

One of the best places for Pho beef noodle soup. Their Vietnamese food menu is what we order from. Their Vietnamese catfish and Vietnamese fried rice we order regularly. Very tasty and reasonable lunch buffet. I go for their Hot and Sour soup while eating the buffet.

Pho was great. Lunch specials are reasonable. Atmosphere is lacking though.

I went for the first time as part of a family get together, so we ordered family style and I got to try several dishes. All the dishes were excellent and they weren't just noodle soup stuff. Not a place you might take a first date as the atmosphere is definitely higher end hole-in-the-wall-ish, but the food is worth it.

Delicious and aromatic pho; not MSG-heavy, served with fresh bean sprouts and basil in the winter in Midwest.!! Since moving out of CA, we've been craving for a good pho soup. Their soup tastes a lot better than Thanh Linh. Decor is below average but it's clean inside, and owner is friendly. Can't wait to try other dishes. Menu contains lots of interesting Chinese and Vietnamese dishes that sound authentic ,eg, catfish in clay pot, Peking duck, crispy duck, several whole fish dishes, crispy salt and pepper prawn with shell-on, etc. etc. We'll be back :)

The pho is very good. I'm impressed that not only do they use beef tendon in the soup (as well as sliced beef and meatballs) but also that it is cooked properly. The broth is flavorful, light and balanced. Came with appropriate garnishes. I believe they grow their own herbs. Hats off.
