Food is consistently delicious and staff is always friendly. Definitely a hidden gem in Peoria!

Jack's was a complete surprised. It's a bit difficult to find, tucked inside a strip behind a gas station. The front door is quaintly set to close not by the traditional spring; but rather by a bucket and pulley system rigged as a kludge. Ultimately, it looks like you're about to walk into a dive bar without redeeming qualities. And then you get hit, like Dr. Banner by gamma beams, and your experience changes. The staff, and particularly the owner, are incredibly polite and eager to see you (Even as a stranger.). Immediately upon being seated, you're provided a bucket (I like any meal served in a bucket) of peanuts to shell and enjoy while you wait for food. The menu is typical bar food; but seems to be very well done. I had an ostrich burger, and found it flavorful, well-prepared, and really above and beyond typical bar fare. I was really pleased with the experience, and am excited to go back. Well-priced, great food, and a great dive bar/greasy spoon atmosphere makes this an unexpected treat.

What a pleasant surprise. The location, outside decor and even the sign will lead you to believe that this is a dive bar. You will be amazed once you step inside. Very clean, staff is friendly and the menu covers I was with a group of five motorcycle riders. We drove over 140 miles to try this place out. A couple of people in the group are hooked on Bison Burgers so we thought we would take a ride to Peoria and check out Khaki Jack's. We ordered several Bison and one Outback burger. They were outstanding, and the Fries! There should be a large warning label stating that these fries can be addictive. This is great little gem of a place.

Great food! If your a cherry coke fan they give you real cherry coke too, its not canned. Very good fries with malt vinegar. Overall a great place to eat.

spicy wings and alright burgers is the best way to sum up this place. there are buckets of peanuts on the tables and the floor is completely covered with their shells. the theme is australian although besides fosters and an ostrich burger - there isnt anything really australian about the place. it was actually pretty crowded when we pulled up so locals do like the place and id probably go back but not for the burgers.

I just met with the owner, Jack. He's a nice bloke. The cheese burger was huge. The pizza was vary generous with the toppings. The salmon salad was wonderful. I learned that I love ostrich burgers. Several other reviews said they have sweet potato fries. I was disappointed to find that they do not. I'm from Indy, but if I come to Peoria again, I'll stop in and have a meal with my new friend, Jack

We happened upon Khaki Jacks while looking for something we hadnt had before. I admit I detest the Aussie decor, but that didnt change our opinion of our experience. We were greeted at the door, and waited 15+ minutes because the dining room was packed. We both ordered burgers, which were cooked to perfection. The fries were also very good, and words alone cannot describe the chocolate cobbler. We loved the place and will definitely return! P.S. The only real complaint we had was the noise level. Casual conversation was difficult, but after a group behind us left, the noise level was a little more tolerable.

Great place for a quick beer or bite! The burgers are yummy and the staff is really friendly.

Sully (RIP) Opened this place years ago- His food quality is still found here after all these years. The burgers are great, the fries are hand cut, and the beer is cold- what more do you want? Kitsch-? OK, how about all the trinkets on the ceiling, and the leg lamp in the window? Check- Cans of peanuts are everywhere.. Cash is KING here- no Credit, but there is an ATM on sight (3.00 fee)

Went in for the first time and it was average. I would say that it is a bit expensive for what you get. But where else can you get a burger made from ostrich? The potato skins were excellent. The best thing in the place would have been the root beer. While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, I might stop by again if I am in front of it.

Decent food. Burgers are overpriced for what You get. Fries are a do again though. Our waitress seemed to want to do anything other than help us. Living so close, I was really hoping to like this place. I give it a good, solid "meh"

Had the ostrich brat. It was a solid "meh." It lacked zip, kick, that certain je ne sais quoi. I ordered jalepeno bacon and that helped, although I felt a bit unsure about the mixing of the meats. i think a good mustard would have completed the dining experience. We ordered the vinegar fries for an appetizer. They were also a solid "meh." the dessert was pretty good. But again, nothing spectacular. Again, solid "meh." I've been so curious about this place since it's been open for so long, but it wasn't all that exciting. However, if you want to cross ostrich or bison off your bucket list of foods to try, this place ain't too shabby.

Great locally owned bar with not your average menu. They have beef burgers but also an ostrich burger, tuna steak sandwiches and juicy GRILLED (not fried) naked chicken strips. I think they also have a portobello sandwich for the veggie lovers. There are buckets of peanut shells on the tables and yes, peanut shells on the floor, so if you have allergies, beware. Their fries are skin on, and an order is big enough to share. It can get a bit noisy when busy, but the food and service are good. Keep in mind they do not accept credit cards.

I have been coming to this place for years. They know what they are, stay in their lane, and produce consistent results. The menu is more diverse than your typical neighborhood spot. I am a fan of the bison burger and the ostrich burger. Great french fries. They have recently started accepting credit cards which is nice. There have been many times over the years where I did not go there because I did not have any cash on me.

Very small place, so don't bring a ton of people unless you're ok with waiting. Fresh french fries are great, and I haven't had a bad burger there ever. Peanuts on every table, so if you're allergic this is not a place for you.

The only thing I have ever had here was their delicious cheeseburger and fries w/ a bud light of course!! Delicious!!!!

I went here the other day while visiting Peoria. I pulled out my phone to do a Yelp check-in, and I couldn't believe that this place wasn't on here. My family has been going here for years, and I think it deserves a review on Yelp. Khaki Jacks is a small Australian themed bar in a small strip mall in Peoria. If you didn't know it was there you would probably miss it. Don't worry about being on your absolute best behavior here (but still be civil). This is a very laid back place. On every table there is a beer bucket full of peanuts in the shell, and you are encouraged to throw the shells on the floor. On St. Pats day only two beers were on tap, Fosters (a staple for this place) and Guiness. There are many other beers available in a bottle. The food: Khaki Jacks serves something you'll probably be hard pressed to find most places and I highly recommend at least trying: an Ostrich burger, which is of coarse with the Australian theme is ground Ostrich. They also serve hamburgers, and grilled chicken burgers. You're going to pay a little more for a burger here, but they are a pretty good size and always worth it.Chicken strips come grilled not fried. Their fries have the skin on and are fried a dark golden brown, they also have salads on their menu. I would recommend Khaki Jacks for a laid back night out. It's nothing fancy, just good food in a hole in the wall place.

Awesome burgers. My daughter had a hot ham and cheese ...and believe me it wasn't a small one. Even had real ham on it.

Had the bleu cheese burger and fries. Was fantastic. My wife had the italian sausage sandwich and said it was also very good. Love munching on peanuts before the meal came. Service was great.

We went to Khaki Jacks on a Friday night with another couple. All the tables were full but they were very friendly so we had a drink at the bar and they got us a table within 10 minutes. The waitress was very friendly and answered questions about the menu. My wife and I both had the salmon salad and it was huge. Our friends enjoyed their meal as well. If you are looking for a place that is not a chain, give Khaki Jacks a try.

Love this place. Complementary bucket of shelled salted peanuts, good beer, and some of the best burgers in the area. Always seem to be cooked to the perfect temperature. Grilled chicken sandwiches are also pretty good too. Both are pretty big. They also have an option of Jalapeño Bacon, good stuff. Jalapeños awesome, bacon super good, Jalapeño bacon super good awesome. The fries are also pretty good. They cut the potatoes fresh with the skin on. Very tasty The staff is very nice, especially the owner. He always takes time great people and make you feel at home. The only negative thing I can say about this place is the location. It's not a bad neighborhood or anything like that, just hard to find. It's in a small strip behind a gas station. Don't remember how I found out about this place, but I wouldn't have seen it from the road. But once you know where it's at , it's easy to get in and out and there is plenty of parking.

Just came here once and got take out, so I can't comment on the wait staff or bar. Had a beef burger and didn't find it too good. The toppings were good (grilled onions and grilled red bell peppers), but the patty tasted processed and frozen. It reminded me of a thick Wendy's patty. Burger and fries cost an average $8.50 and you get a ton of food for that, but for the same price you can go to Burger Barge, Kaydee Kats, Ulrich's Rebellion Room, Richard's, or even just Five Guys. All are better and cost the same.
