Back in P-town for a meeting with an old college friend, so for dessert we figured we would try an up-and-coming fro-yo place. Overall I found Cherryberry to be one of the good ones, though I suggest getting lots of samples. Like most frozen yogurt places out there, yogurt is sold by weight. Yogurt for three came out to $9.95 for us, which wasn't at all excessive. This place stretches--by a long shot--what it means to be a proper frozen yogurt flavor. As in, popcorn-flavored. And pretzel-flavored. Even the cherry limeade tasted like bubblegum, which I don't think was the flavor profile they were quite looking for. I tried chocolate, chocolate chip cookie dough, pretzel and popcorn. Topped with a bunch of chocolate-based toppings that came out of the topping machine way too fast. And chocolate syrup, and marshmallow creme syrup. This was really good! Lots of chocolate flavor, good saltiness of the pretzel, and... umm, popcorn. Then I tried my wife's spiced apple pie frozen yogurt, and it's like the flavor disappeared. More icy than anything else, and the apple topping was watered down. That flavor probably needs to be tweaked. Add caramel. Maybe even salted caramel. Anyways, I liked mine enough that I came away with a positive impression of Cherryberry, and encourage other Peoria visitors to give 'em a chance.

They may not have as many flavors as some places I've been to, but I liked the flavors and toppings that I chose. Their toppings bar had a lot of variety and very well supplied / kept up. The store was clean and staff friendly. They have dividers so you can add a couple different flavors to one dish. Enjoy!

From the moment I entered the dizzying Chuck-E-Cheeselike swirl of neon greens and reds, I knew it was a bad idea. From behind the counter cluttered with topping containers that were inexplicably displaced from the actual toppings bar an employee yelled to us that the credit card machine was down. Why not put a sign on the door rather than have the employee tell each and every customer coming in that they have to pay in cash? The employee's pleasantness and quickness to offer sample cups was probably the only redeeming part of my experience. I made my way over the sticky floor to the yogurt dispensers themselves to find a bunch of sickeningly sweet flavors and the weird approach of having a middle nozzle to dispense a combination of flavors on either side and calling it a new flavor. The one in between no sugar-added wild strawberry (the least offensive flavor I tasted) and lemon ice box cake had a friendly sign asking customers to name the novel flavor. It would be impolite to share the name I came up with for it. It's all fine and good to have candy toppings for the people that want them, but there's something about the frozen yogurt trend that hints at healthy eating which is why places like Pinkberry have toppings like fresh fruit. The few fruit offerings at CherryBerry (besides maraschino cherries) were some sorry strawberry dregs and darkened, discolored bananas. Bombarded by children's TV programs on flatscreens, I ate the mediocre concoction I settled on and pondered the poster in the window advertising Greek frozen yogurt, a product not even on offer there. The staff were nice enough, but the product and the ambiance were so thoroughly mediocre that I have no intention of returning.

Not sure why others rated this so low. We didn't notice any issues with our visit. Staff was friendly, and it was not 'not clean'. (Can you really expect a DIY FroYo place to be white glove clean?). Yes, they have bright colors, and a TV with cartoons on for the kids (was muted and CC'd, so didn't bug me). FroYo was good and we liked that they had names on the 'mix' flavors to help prepare you. We'll be back again!

I was least impressed with this location out of Peoria's four options for self-serve fro-yo. All the yogurts were too watery, the machines weren't keeping them cold enough so they just ran out into the cup. They had some good flavors but I didn't like most of their toppings. The brownie and choco chip cookie dough both had a strange chemical very fake taste to them. I just didn't think the store was very clean either. It was definitely a LOT cheaper than the other three places though so I guess you are getting what you pay for here. Sweet CeCe's is still the best although the most expensive.
