Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Excellent new Mexican restaurant in north Peoria. Authentic menu and highly recommend the Pollo specialities. The Pollo Maya was incredible. As well as the chorizo, queso, and salsa. Great work on the interior ambience and refreshed location. There are 3 rooms and a bar with specialty cocktails.

Came here with my brother and his girlfriend, this was our first visit. We were seated and served our drinks quickly. We were offered chips and salsa but the chips tasted stale or maybe it was that they lacked salt. We ordered and our food came out quickly, that is all but my brother's meal. It took another 3 minutes or so for his plate to appear. I ordered the veggie fajitas with rice and beans. It was delicious and the amount of veggies was perfect for the amount of tortillas served. Each of our meals was around $10.50 and the portions were huge. I will be going back when I'm in Peoria as I'm sure my family will too.

Not the best place to celebrate the Cinco De Mayo holiday. They basically turned into a fast food restaurant for the day with a drastically shortened menu and only offering 2 types of pre-made margaritas served from re-used juice containers. They both tasted like Kool-Aid. I tried to get one made fresh with Patron and I thought the world might end by the attitudes from the "bartenders" who clearly preferred to just pour from their juice containers. It wasn't even that busy there! The food was great and came really fast, big portions but I'm not sure I can get over their service and attitudes. No other Mexican joint in town went to these time cutting measures and they were all packed.

The chimichanga is excellent and perfectly seasoned. The portions are a bit large so I typical share my plate. Service is nothing to brag about but it's not awful. My biggest compliant is the seating is not very comfortable; and when they bring out fajitas the entire room becomes smoke filled which, for someone with asthma I have a hard time with.

Our first visit was pretty good as far as the food goes though a bit pricey. As mentioned by others the acoustics are terrible. There's always one guy in a restaurant talking so loud that you feel like you are in the conversation. This place makes you feel that way all the time. Anyhow, we decided to come back during a slower time and even though it was quiet, the food was less than stellar and the service downright sucked. I'm not in any hurry to return.

We really enjoyed this place. Most of the Mexican restaurants around here have a exactly the same menu and same taste...this one was similar, but the taste was above the rest. The waiters were timely and always refilled our drinks and chips. It's worth a visit!

The food was really good. The presentation was great. They are only getting 3 stars because of the service. I was there with my future daughter-in-law. She was finished and I was still eating. The waiter came around to clear our table and started to take my plate. I still had a third of my food still left. Excuse me. After I was finished I moved my plate to the edge of the table. It took about 10 minutes for the waiter to come around again to give us our check. I really hate waiting for my check.

My husband and I had looked forward to trying out this new place in town. We were sadly disappointed. The blue margarita was just okay as was the food. The service also left a lot to be desired. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food, and that was after several waiters carrying food had come by asking what we had ordered. The clincher was when the cashier gave my husband a crayon to sign his Visa slip. We won't be back.

The service is great. Food is the best in peoria. Give it a shot. Fajitas for 2 is amazing.
