The cobb salad was solid but my wifes ceasar was just average. The decor is cool with a nostalgic feel. I wish we could have tried the sandwiches or burgers which looked amazing. We would go back even though it was pricey.

Cute place! Went looking for Abe's Deli and was sorry to hear it had closed, so we crossed the street to this cafe. Pretty typical lunch menu: sandwiches, paninis, wraps. Fast service. The paninis were good but not quite big enough to share, and the homemade chips are good (seriously, why would you order a bag of chips there?). The cheesy cheeseburger soup was definitely cheesy, albeit light on the "burger." They heated up the cinnamon roll for us and it smelled soo good while we were eating. Tasted good, too!

Average and a little overpriced. The sandwich was just ok and was nothing special, even though I ordered the special. I got the turkey sandwich with a cucumber dill mayo for over $8. 90% of the sandwich was bread. I didn't even need to eat the top of the bun. I took it off and folded the sandwich over. The homemade chips were tasty though. Service was quick and efficient. Not sure if I will ever be back.

Adam's Street Cafe is my #1 go-to for casual lunch during the work week in downtown Peoria. It has a great easy-going home-y feel, indicative of being one of downtown's oldest family-owned food establishments. You order and pay at the front counter and pick up your food at the back counter -- if you're lucky to get rung up by the friendly owner, he can offer some tasty modification suggestions to just about any order. For being a modest independent lunch spot, the menu is pretty vast! They have a number of options under $5, and seem to always have a daily special. I'm a vegetarian, and I'm impressed by the abundance of tasty meatless offerings here: veggie sandwich, spinach and hummus wrap, grilled vegetable panini, veggie burger, and more. I usually get the veggie sandwich on their multi-grain sandwich bread (+$0.65) with hot pepper and onions added on (for free!) -- the mix of fresh veggies and the super tasty dill mayonnaise is so good and it still comes out under $5! Most of the other menu items are $2-3 more but also come with awesome homemade potato chips. Ask what extras you can throw on your sandwich for no upcharge!

Subpar sandwich establishment that prides itself with "home-made" white bread and scant meat portions. Ordered the Spicy Italian Sub Special. It wasn't spicy nor was it Italian. The bread had a slightly undercooked consistency which was unpleasant, especially knowing that it was made from bleached & enriched white flour. Spend your lunch money elsewhere.

What a charming place! The coffee is superb and the food was delicious in a way that says "this is not a chain restaurant" Very friendly staff and atmosphere made my random trip to Peoria one I will remember.

Good food and a nice sit-down deli atmosphere reminds me of home (NYC) actually. There weren't any particularly unique dishes or sandwiches here, but they were done well. Their homemade (I think) chips were great. As well, the location makes it a nice place to see all types of Peorians coming together over good food. They have an area where larger parties can sit as well, so it's good for meetings.
