Incredible amount of food for your money. The staff is very friendly, and be sure to get your sweet tooth on a piece of their amazing baklava. The environment is very casual/retro. Dont make the mistake of overlooking this place. The gyro meat is tender and smokey, served on warm, and very soft, pita bread. The tzatziki is packed with a refreshing cucumber flavor to top your gryo. We bought 5 more pieces of baklava to go; definitely take the opportunity to try it. This was my second time trying gyros. The first time was at a different mediterranean restaurant and I was left unsure if I liked gyros or not. I am definitely sure that I do like them, and I will be back many times to come. Well done, Chicago Hut.

Fantastic gyros! The tzatziki sauce is the best I've tasted! Very friendly atmosphere and generous portions!!!! They appear to do amazing things with a chicken breast sandwich, although I didn't try one this trip! Gives me another reason to go back!!!! Keep up the good work!

If you happen to have the misfortune of getting stuck in pekin, this place will brighten your stay. The gyro is awesome. And huge. The greek side salad was the size of the table (it had to get boxed because I couldn't eat it after the gyro...) my brother got a sausage covered in Italian beef with peppers, onion and melted cheese. I haven't seen a sausage disappear that fast since Bruce announced he was Caitlin jenner. If you go, don't forget the milkshake. Not a huge dining room so if you have a big party probably have to get take out

The gyro was great and had plenty of meat on it. Fries were hot and crispy. Only issue we had was it was a little smokie inside, guess the exhaust fan wasn't doing its job. Lol.

I loved it. I had 2 Chicago style hot dogs and some fries. It was excellent. I'm from Wisconsin so I'm not a Chicago style hot dog expert but to me they were great. I hope to go back to try something else. Perhaps a gyro or an Italian beef sandwich. I attached 2 pictures. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was busy when I got there. I took the pictures when I left and the crowd was gone. That's why there isn't any people in the picture of the dining area. The decor of the place is "vintage", ie pictures of Elvis, Wrigley Field, and the 1990s Chicago Bulls. It gives it some charm. I think you'll like this place.

My sandwich was good and my f.f.'s were crunchy and hot with a lot in the basket but the older greek guy on the business phone in the front was annoying! Talking greek loudly pacing back and forth the entire time i ate there. He was the boss so go in the back ! The rest of the help was nice and quick at their job . What i am saying is this place would have gotten more stars if the boss would have paced in back instead of around customers because it was numerous phone calls not just one!

We went there once a week when we moved back to Pekin. They really screwed up a delivery order and seemed less than gracious about it. I didn't care for the food being greasy. How can you make a grilled chicken sandwich greasy? The gyros are good with quite a helping of meat and yes grease.

Nearly the best Itl. Beef sandwich. Not 5 stars due to the old bun, but the bun was grilled and it hid the staleness of the bread. Juicy, tasty and I thought the beef was a little over cooked in the warming pan. But still a great sandwich

It's a reason to come to Pekin! It's sort of a secret but it lives up to its name. It's like one of those Gyro places you'd find on any street in Chicago but it's right here in Central IL. Absolutely everything is good here. The staff is always upbeat and friendly. Great spot for lunch, dinner or takeout.

Never had a bad meal here....excellent alternative to typical fast food...the Greek lemon rice soup is great as are their burgers/dogs/gyros....for a real treat, try the souvlaki... UPDATE: These guys now deliver!

The gyros here are really good! I love the yogurt sauce--yum! I also absolutely love thier french fries! Wow--some of the best I have ever had. Perfectly crispy and salty at the same time. I have only ever had these two items from Chicago Hut, but I see this as reason enough to pay them a visit. Try it!

What a nice find! First off the portions are huge. I had the junior gyros. I don't know who Junior is, but he must be one big dude. The gyro was great. It had just the right amount of meat to sauce combination with cucumbers and tomatoes. The "junior" came with fries which really are outstanding. They seem to be ever so lightly breaded, then fried to order. Wow, these are like potato pillows. we devoured them! My husband had the Cajun chicken sandwich, also huge. It came with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and a spicy cheese sauce. YUM! The Hut has a huge menu with everything from a Greek half chicken (9.85) to hot dogs (2.65 and up) . In other words there is a lot available to please every palate. This place cooks to order, and the food is worth the wait.
