great sandwiches. so far i've had bbq pork sandwich, fiesta, and something else i can't remember. but all of them were delicious. i liked fiesta the most, chunky pulled pork, roasted peppers, avocado spread and something else i couldnt distinguish. i also had tomato soup, which i did not like so i probably wont ever get soup again. prices are reasonable and serving portion for sandwiches are huge. recommended! $8~12

First visit today...will not be the last. Hubs had the Cubano, I had the Fiesta. Split a cup of tomato basil soup. Soup was wonderful, sandwiches absolutely delicious. Weather was bad, snow, sleet...but a steady stream of customers speaks volumes for the quality of the food at this wonderful neighborhood sandwich shop. We were impressed and can't stop raving about the menu. Friendly service. Can't wait to go back, especially when we can eat outside. When looking for a great sandwich...this is the place
(5)Ashley G.
Came in here for a lunch... so tasty and such great service! I recommend the BBQ pork sandwich... comes with coleslaw on it... real tasty! Great soup as well!
(5)E R.
I love Darios and wanted to give it 5 stars simply because of the Formaggio Panini. But I've had a chicken wrap that was 3/4 filled with unseasoned lettuce and I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper hummus. It was very bland. I was expecting more flavor. The salads are fresh and huge. I had I believe the Mediterranean. But I wasn't impressed with the salad dressing because it had a lot of sugar in it. The soups are delicious.
(4)Kerry M.
Sooooo good!! Cubano was so flavorful. The bbq pork sandwich was really great too. Very tasty lentil soup as well.
(5)Angie G.
Great place for lunch! The Tomato Basil soup was very creamy and tons of flavor. My husband had the Cubano - he said the pulled pork on it was juicy and tons of flavor!! Owners are very friendly and the atmosphere is very charming! We would go back
(5)MáirÃn G.
First timer and lovin' it! I ordered the Cubano and couldn't scarf it down fast enough. It was seriously delicious. I can't wait to come back to try something else! The service was super friendly and quick, too.
(5)Kristin S.
I've never been here for breakfast or dinner, but this is the best lunch place in downtown Palatine. I've had the Roma panini and the Cubano sandwich. Both were off the hook. A little too big for my appetite, but the wrapped up the other half for me to take home.
(5)Michael K.
Went back to Dario's because I couldn't keep the cuban out of my head. I got the pull pork bbq sandwich so my daughter and I could share. Wow. The cuban is just dead on delicious. The habanero aioli is just a hint (really) of spice, but adds that layer drippy sauce goodness you need. Mmmm! The Pork was very good as well with just enough moisture and sauce. The slaw did not overpower it was just the right balance. I also got the potato leek soup for my son. He asked what a leek was-I said it meant delicious, he agreed.
(5)Ru S.
Quick lunch before catching the train (it's next to the Palatine Station) Had the Fiesta Panini! Cheesy roasted pork deliciousness!
(5)Kevin G.
JUST GO HERE! You will not be disapointed! The owner Lady (forgot her name - sorry) and owner Dario need to package this place up in a cookie cutter restaurant for others to invest in and start spreading out across other parts of America because this is how food should be made and prepared. If I was on a diet and could only splurge one day a week this would be my stop. The Cuban sandwich and the BBQ pork sandwich are off the hook taking NO prisoners. Even if you have to go out of your way by an hour just go. Luv It Luv it
(5)Mark J.
It's never a bad decision to go to Dario's, they have great sandwiches and you can customize them however you prefer. It's a little pricey and the portions aren't that big though.
(4)He K.
Clean, little place, cute and welcoming. Friendly staff,n quick service and the sandwiches we tried so far are good. Star off, because they are a bit pricey.
(4)Ellen L.
I'm in awe! Everything at Dario's is perfect, from friendly and courteous staff and cozy sitting area to their home made soups and panini. Salads are utter perfection, taste explosion in a bowl to say the least.
(5)Mackenzie B.
Small delicious place for lunch. The women behind the counter are very kind, the food was made to order and quick. I had the Chicken Hummas Wrap and it was amazing! light and crisp panni style wrap. I would certainly order it again. The Salads looked fresh and a colleague had the cubano and said it was made the "right" way! Over-all great find in downtown palatine.
(5)B G.
I work across the tracks from Dario's and have had lunch here three times now. It is a nice little shop with a friendly staff. Menu has a nice selection of paninis and wraps. Everything I have had from the menu has been very good and price is reasonable. Sandwiches are made to order and are fairly good sized as well. Great place to eat and always nice to support a local, small business. Go here!
(5)Chris A.
We set out one evening to see what the buzz was all about. So glad we did. My wife and I can't even recommend Dario's more! We had wonderful soup and perfect sandwiches. I could easily eat myself into oblivion. Everything is fresh! Guacamole made to order. We've decided to eventually try the entire menu.
(5)Brian G.
Excellent flatbread pizza. Very crispy, fresh ingredients, and perfect sauce to cheese distribution. Only complaint is the canned soda. If I'm paying for diet coke at a restaurant I expect fountain drinks and free refills.
(4)Jack S.
Sorry but if you don't use gloves to handle my sandwich then I am out the door and you will never see me back again. Not hard to practice good sanitation.
(1)Melanie S.
Darios' is one of my favorites for always fresh and very flavorful food! Everyone that works there is warm and friendly, and it's always a great experience. I highly recommend it for lunch and dinner-kid-friendly and beautifully decorated inside!
(5)Deb M.
After reading all the wonderful reviews (there's not a single bad review in here), my husband and I went to try out this place. Since the first visit, we have been back numerous other times because it is so good! We have tried the Mediterranean Salad, the Special Flatbread (with Italian sausage and roasted peppers), the Focaccia Provencal - these are all delicious. However, our favorites are the BBQ pork, the Fiesta sandwich and the Cubano. I had no idea sandwiches could taste so good! Another plus is that they are right in my neighborhood. Please people, keep going to this place if you've been there. If not, go and visit for the first time. We need to keep this business alive!
(5)Jeff S.
As you walk into Dario's you are greeted by a warm deco and the smell of toasted bread. The welcoming smell of homemade soup simmering in the kitchen beckons you to stay. The menu is simple. You can customize virtually anything. The staff is very courteous and patient. Seating inside is quaint for 24 but it is still very inviting. The outdoor seating is very nice. This was my first visit. I got the Boarder wrap. House roasted pork, black beans and avocado shine in a huge burrito-style wrap. The soup of the day was good -- chicken, pasta and spinach. Don't have lunch in Palatine without stopping at Dario's!
(5)Dustin T.
Great sandwiches. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They are large, flavorful, perfectly constructed and cooked. The place is cozy, and the staff are very friendly. They also have a great selection of sauce bottles behind the counter if you want to add any more pizazz to your sandwich, soup, or guacamole!
(5)Kevin K.
We fell in love with Dario's on the first bite! Dario's goes way, way, way beyond typical sandwich shops with fresh, flavorful, and imaginative paninis, flatbreads, salads and wraps. The menu draws upon Italian, Mexican and other ingredients and ideas for just-right, delicious choices that are a complete and happy surprise. Best of all, it's created, owned and operated by a local couple, and is in a cozy shop with indoor and outdoor seating, right in the heart of Palatine's downtown. Must try!
(5)Eric H.
Great food. Ate here twice and both times were very enjoyable. The people behind the counter all seemed to care about the food, and that made the experience even better. I got the BBQ'd pork with chili on the side the first time, and the Fiesta Panini with soup the second. Both were made well, had good flavor, and since they were running out of soup on my second visit, just gave me the rest of it in a bigger container. Definitely going to be coming back here for a while.
(5)Maria G.
they have really good salads nice out door seating in the heart of palatine which is really nice in the summer. wasnt a fan of the sandwiches but otherwise a real cute spot in the heart of palatine owned independently i would definetly suggest the chopped salad
(4)David R.
Chef/Owner operated by Dario himself, you can expect good fresh food with flavor. Sounds simple, but this isn't your basic pizza and salad. My Wife's favorite were the flatbreads; and there are many options to choose from. You can taste the difference with fresh ingredients and great service. We'll be back for sure!
(5)Lorri C.
Great wraps, great soup. Great couple working there. I'm so glad this place opened in downtown Palatine. The food is great and so is the service.
(5)Robert R.
Hands Down ! Best sandwiches in the suburbs. Fresh ingredients and wonderfully crafted. Worth the drive from anywhere.
(5)Katie O.
The BEST sandwich shop in palatine. Everything is good, have been here multiple times and never a dissapointment. Customer service is excellent as well.
(5)Cathy G.
I have only been to Dario's once based on recommendations from Yelp reviews, but I am certain to be back. I tried the fiesta panini and it was delicious, although pretty rich and enormous enough for at least two. They really don't skimp on the ingredients at all, this sandwich had a ton of tender pulled pork and creamy avocado, all on delicious panini bread grilled crispy and flavored with chipotle mayo. Very tasty. I can't wait to try some of their other offerings, but I'll be sure to bring a friend so we can share.
(5)Chris W.
They have great sandwiches and salads are good too. I love the cubano, best one I have had in the area. The quality of the food is much better than most other lunch places in the area. I am only giving 4 stars for some constructive improvements they could do. I think they could improve their business by doing a lunch combo or something. If you order a sandwich and chips for example it comes in at over $10 with tax. The chips are just a bag of dirty chips you can buy in the store. At this price I would really expect these to be fresh homemade kettle chips. Its just a tad expensive for a lunch combo, I think the sweet spot for what you get would be $8-9 as a combo.
(4)Brad R.
Easily the most delicious restaurant in downtown palatine. You know it's good because they are never open. Staff is friendly and prompt and they pack some big flavor in their sandwiches for such a tiny place. I eat here every chance I get. Try the dirty potato chips, they're the greatest.
(5)Chet M.
Tried the much hyped Fiesta and Cubano sandwiches: Pros - Made fresh, huge portions/good value, nice grill marks on bread, unique taste, and overall 2 pretty tasty sandwiches unlike other sandwiches out there. Cons - Taste borders on gimmicky crowd pleaser flavors as opposed to classic sublime unami tastes. Lots of stuff and sauces in their sandwich like how something can appear to taste better with a splash of BBQ sauce, Russian dressing, or honey mustard sauce on it. Service is very friendly but beware of them closing 10 minutes earlier than their 6:00PM posting.
(3)Jennifer V.
Went for lunch today and this may be my new favorite lunch place! $7.85 special: soup and half a panini? Yes, please! Try the Italian wedding soup -- it's amazing!! They add the pasta to order, it's got a lot good flavor is a light balance with the 1/2 panini. Created my own panini - turkey, cheddar, and pesto aioli- yum! Plus, the staff are REALLY nice! Tip: go early or call ahead, it gets really busy by noon! Five stars - can't wait to go back...
(5)Carmen A.
Had a cubano. The sandwich was delicious and had tons of meat.
(5)John S.
Stopped in again for a couple more items. Had the Chipotle Hummus Wrap which was excellent. A nice mild wrap that feels fresh with good flavors. Also the Fiesta sandwich. Another pulled pork option on the menu. More mild than the Cubano but still has good flavor. I could taste the pork more on this one and it's less salty than the Cubano... =================== First trip to Dario's so here's a few thoughts on what we had... Cubano, I order these wherever I see them (which is not often). This one is very good all around. It is a little over flavored due to saltyness or the condiments. I will try it again and just ask them to go light on the mustard & aioli... Chicken on Focaccia, very good. It's a very clean sandwich with good flavors. I like how they cook their chicken, as it's not a dry overcooked slab. It's tender and moist!! Both sandwich breads were top notch fresh!! Cole Slaw is homemade and good it does help balance out the Cubano's flavor!! Sides are a bit pricey here and will add up fast. Probably because I like the chips and slaw plus the soda is $1.50 for a 12oz can and I could drink 2... I think the sandwiches are a bargain!! So for $15-20 you'll can add in the soup, be super full, and have a great meal or two!! Without a doubt I will be back to try as much as I can on the menu!!

I had to work in Palatine one day this week, and Yelp flagged this spot as some place I might want to go for lunch. Why yes. Yes, it is a place I want to go for lunch. Repeatedly. I picked up a Vivo panini, since I've been craving prosciutto for some time, I'm fond of bocconici cheese, and "pesto aoli" sounds delicious. I paired it up with a can of diet coke and a bag of "Funky Fusion" chips, which were described to me as an odd combination of barbecue and sour cream flavors. Anyway, the chips worked well enough, but it's the panini that got my attention. Somehow this panini was perfectly crispy with gorgeous brown grill marks, but the bread remained incredibly light. I'm not really sure how I could do this at home. The prosciutto was high quality, the cheese was melty and the pesto was as good as I imagined to be. Basically, this was the perfect panini. They also have soups and salads, but I didn't get around to trying these. I definitely know that I'm willing to drive here all the way from Carol Stream if I'm looking for a great panini.
(5)Neel K.
This place was a pleasure to eat at!!!! The restaurant is very small and get a huge crowd for lunch, but for very good reason. The food is extremely fresh and tastes wonderful. They definitely cater to the vegetarian population and made two sandwiches, a wrap, and an amazing salad. The Hummus wrap without chicken and the Santa fe salad where awesome. The toasted bread on the sandwiches was crisp, fresh, and the cheese just oooooozed. Overall, we loved this place. The staff had such a wonderful happy vibe, you just felt good eating there. The perfect place for a quick lunch.
(5)Kimberly M.
The best place for sandwiches and salads. Have been here on numerous occasions and yet to be disappointed!
(5)Susan S.
Had the chicken focaccia nice slice of avocado crispy bacon , roasted peppers with caramelized onion was tasty added some habanero sauce was pretty pretty tasty. Cute inside fast service nice and fresh.
(4)Don R.
Wow! Been a few months since I've had a sandwich that just completely blew my mind! Decided to try this place today with my boss for lunch. First time here. Both of us got the Club Panini. We couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was! The Panini bread was freshly baked and toasted perfectly, the ingredients, including the bacon tasted fresh and it had some amazing flavors. A little tight on the inside but that's ok, worse come to worse I'll just eat in my car. I WILL be back!
(5)Rick C.
Eating my Focaccia Provençal sandwich right now! Hard to put down to type in how Damn Delicious it is!!! You gotta eat here!!!!
(5)Daniel S.
Dario's. Wow. Funky fusion chips, fiesta or pulled pork sandwich, cup of soup. Boom. That's it. Eat here if you have the chance. Holy smokes. It's like saooo~~ guht!
(5)Danielle S.
Hidden gem alert!! I think I have had this place bookmarked for a while, and wanted to try out a new place for lunch. The only disappointing part about this place was that I had not found it earlier! The menu enticed me - foccacia bread is amazing, and they have it. They have flatbreads, soups, salads, wraps, and panini/sandwiches. The menu isn't extensive, but they have some unique items. I decided on the BBQ pork sandwich. A.ma .zing. You get a huge sandwich full of BBQ pork, topped with coleslaw and pickles on ciabatta bread. I almost cried it was so good. My friend ordered soup and the Formaggio panini. I took a bite and didn't regret it. It was dripping with gooey cheese in between crisp bread...mmmm. There isn't anything to not like about that. The prices are about what you would pay at Panera, but the food is way better! The atmosphere is quaint with a few tables to eat at, a TV, and light music in the background. It wasn't crowded at all, and very clean. The service was great (we even got to try samples of the soup). They were really helpful and very friendly - I felt right at home! This is easily a place I could become a regular at!
(5)Jeff M.
if you are looking for gourmet sandwiches, soups at affordable prices this is the place. Very friendly service and great food. It's hard to recommend on sandwich over another as they are so good! My only complaint, they are not open for breakfast!
(5)Todd C.
Is there a way to give a place 6 stars? If so...I'd reserve that for Dario's. We went in just thinking it was a regular sandwich place. Instead, we were blown away by how great the food was. The first time we went in, I ordered the BBQ Roasted Pork sandwich. When it came out, it was so beautiful, I had to take a picture of it...then, when I got up the guts to ruin it's beauty by eating with it, I wept with joy. Amazing. I've now had one panini, two of the sandwiches, and I've tried my kids PB&J, grilled cheese, and the pizza bread. I may get the PB&J or Grilled Cheese for my own meal at some point...both fantastic. I'll stop now...I'm gushing. But this place deserves it. If you haven't tried it, go there for lunch tomorrow. They do takeout, too...
(5)Alyssa P.
I've ordered both the Fiesta Panini and Cubano sandwich. Both were huge and hearty, definitely not for u if you're watching your diet. I preferred the Fiesta over Cuban bc the Cuban was slightly on the salty side for me. It's wasn't overly salty to the pt it's inedible, but more salt than I prefer. Lady at register was very friendly.
(4)Gregory B.
So close to goodness, said the woman of my dreams. The flavors were outstanding. The portions were huge. The prices were fair. But the gelatinous turkey and rubbery flavorless chicken combined with the owner's mood to make this an unpleasant experience. I am giving it three stars because what I am guessing is, if you are a regular and eat pork and beef, which we aren't and don't, this would be a wonderful place to go. The location certainly can't be beat.
(3)Lisa W.
First, let me say this is the kind of place that I want to see more of in Palatine. It's a great little establishment that hasn't disappointed! The soups are always a hit with me. I've enjoyed the flatbread, salads, & several different sandwiches, including my first experience with a Cuban, and I can definitely see what all the fuss is about because it was delish. In fact I think it's my new favorite there. The workers are always extremely friendly and helpful.
(5)Benjamin L.
Darios is a wondering little place on the other side of LampLighters. They have great Sandwiches, Soups..ect. The owners are very personable and though their menu adds up fast, it's all very well worth it. As a huge small business supporter I will be back. The place is clean and relaxing. Though small inside , nothing you can do about it. In the summer they have chairs and tables so I assume they put those out for additional seating which would be nice. The BBQ Roasted Park sandwich is what I had tried , it was so good. keep up the good work.
(5)Raji V.
This a cute little restaurant in palatine. Had to try it out because it was a 5 star food joint and there aren't very many of those. They serve mainly sandwiches. The chicken focaccia is a customer fav. It is a very large sandwich. I thought it was pretty good but could have been better is the buns were toasted. They were kind of soggy especially with the spreads. The tomato basil soup was okay a nice side but tasted like Campbell soup. They also have an array of kettle chips the jalapeño is pretty good. Prices are around 7.50 and above. Overall, I thought it was okay nothing to rave about.
(3)A K.
Ate here with friends, loved everything except the chicken breast was a little undercooked and chewy. But definitely a hidden gem.
(4)Liz A.
I really like Dario's. I've been here 2 times. I'm sad it's so far from me :( I've tried the Cubano and fiesta, they were both really good. I got a grilled cheese for my 6 year old and she really liked it. We also had guacamole and chips. The guacamole is good but it won't blow you away and definitely overpriced so I would say to skip it. The staff is friendly. I definitely recommend it, it's a different twist to your standard sandwich shop.
(4)Shailesh J.
I visited this place for a Friday late lunch .. Not a big place..But it makes up for the taste.. I ordered Fiesta sandwich and my wife ordered CHICKEN BREAST FOCACCIA . Both the entrees were delicious in taste. The portions are huge .. I could just finish half of the fiesta .. A very good place and ambience..I didnot try any sides.. Overall a place deserving to be visited again ..
(4)Sherwin C.
Great food at great prices. If you live in the area, there's no need to visit chains like Subway or Jimmy Johns. Fiesta panini - Just the right amount of spiciness with creamy avocado and roasted pork. The habanero aioli provides a clean but powerful kick to the sandwich. Cubano - One of the better Cubanos I've had in the area. The bread really makes a difference in this sandwich with nice ham and swiss cheese. Surprisingly, this could've used more mustard (Almost everywhere else, you complain about people putting on too much sauce!) Roasted pork - Something about BBQ sauce and cole slaw provides nice contrast in a sandwich. Like the other sandwiches, the meat is cooked just right and the bread is nice and fluffy. Flatbread - One of the crispiest flatbreads I've had in the area. The light tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella really make this a great alternative to pizza. Try this, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Naté G.
I really loved this cute sandwich place in the middle of downtown Palatine. I stopped in because of the good reviews on Yelp and was very happy with it. Felt a little bit pricey for lunch with adding soup and a drink, but the sandwich was enough for two meals so it ended up being a bargain. Great location, cute decor, unique menu items, independent business--more of this please! Will be back again.
(5)Lisa R.
Went with two girlfriends for lunch today and LOVED it!!!! Decor is simple but cute and comfortable. Food was awesome! Got the cuban, and a friend got the pulled pork sandwhich. I loved the smeared loveliness that was on my cuban. No clue what it was, but it was mind blowing. Meat was cooked perfectly. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend stopping in!
(5)Stacy H.
Absolutely delicious. Got the Stracciatella soup and Mediterranean wrap. Absolutely delicious. My sister enjoyed hers as well.. Great meal to kick off my weekend.
(5)Nidy M.
Awesome place to eat. I love their sandwiches. Everything is fresh and delicious. Their soups are delicious. .. I highly recommend it.
(5)Kevin K.
This is hands-down one of the best sandwich restaurants I have ever eaten at. My fiance and I love to go here whenever possible. Quality ingredients, excellent flavor combinations, and wonderful service make this a can't miss family-owned restaurant!
(5)Brian C.
When I walked into Darios in downtown Palatine yesterday I was not expecting to experience the best chicken sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Wow! Hot, juicy and Full of flavor. This chicken sandwich was AMAZING! I can't wait to try everything else on the menu. The place was very clean and inviting. I highly recommend you bring your friends, colleagues and customers to eat here. This is a culinary gem. As my 5 Star rating says, This is as good as it gets! Brian
(5)Liz K.
We went to Dario's for the first time this weekend for a quick lunch. We were not disappointed! I had the Caprese panini and my boyfriend had the chicken breast sandwhich. Everything was super fresh, you can tell that every topping is made in house. We'll for going here over and over again! My only suggestion would be for them to offer a few side options, they only had bagged chips from what I recall. A potato or pasts salad or coleslaw would be perfect with their sandwhiches. UPDATE: We go to Dario's on a weekly basis. It's seriously that delicious. Every single sandwich is perfect, super fresh, and addicting. And we order the freshly made guacamole every single time.
(5)Tyler D.
Wow...I can believe downtown Palatine FINALLY has something like this. I couldn't believe the yelp reviews so I decided to come. Even after the crowd of the St Patrick's parade the staff did a great job. The service was incredible, the food even better. Had the Roma sandwich and already can't wait to come back!
(5)Gerry A.
Best sandwich I've had in a long time. BONUS nice outdoor tables & umbrellas and close to the train. Thanks Sherwin for talking up the Cubano. The Cubano is now our standard sandwich to take to the airport. I like the Cubano better on the ciabatta bread than the Fiesta on pianini bread, just personal taste. I think the Cubano's also got a little more heat and we order ours extra spicy. Dario's has a Build Your Own Sandwich option, so you can customize anyway you want with their build your own sandwich option. We split one and it's plenty for us, almost too much bread. We call ahead, it's hot and ready in 10-15m. The loaf ciabatta keeps the Cubano hot for a long time, we have picked them up and eaten them downtown and they are still hot. Really nice people, check the hours. Probably no problem with an under the radar low key BYOB if that's your thing. All Dario's needs is Italian Ice to be almost perfect. As good as it gets for now.
(5)T S.
Finally we found a great sandwich place in palatine. We ordered focaccia Provençal and Cubano. After the first bite, we know we will become regulars for sure. Totally awesome. Tasty and the portion size is big. The environment is simple but clean, tidy, homey. The staff is very helpful, willing to explain to us the choices of bread. I can't wait to try the entire menu. You can also ask for a tasting of their soup of the day. We tried the Italian egg drop soup. Very nice. My only wish is for them to keep it open a bit longer.
(5)Kelly G.
First time coming here, didn't know what it was, just saw they had option for takeout. Ordered the Roma panini and it was way better than I expected. Great bread, meat and giardinera. I will definitely come back
(5)Sean P.
A hidden gem.Great little sandwich and wrap place in downtown. Everything from classics to different but really good menu ideas. Huge portions!
(5)Leo G.
Great place for a delicious lunch! Excellent food, always fresh and made with care. Soups are fantastic, and I love the portions of the wraps. Great to see a non franchise food place doing great things, I know I will be getting a lot of my lunches from here. Highly recommend it!
(5)Noreen L.
Was very satisfied with our dining experience during lunch hour. The food was delicious and fresh! The service was very friendly and attentive. The decor was pleasant with warm colors making it very comfortable to dine in. I would recommend the Cubano Panini. I can't wait to try the homemade soups next time!
(5)Ruth G.
Stopped in for a quick lunch with my boss here. I ordered the 1/2 panini with a cup of soup. I chose the Formaggio panini and Tomato Basil soup. I have never had a better sandwich in my life!!! I wish I could go here everyday, it was so good!!! It was like a grilled cheese on steroids with magic powder sprinkled over it. I highly recommend this gift from God and can't wait to go back to have it again!!!
(5)Zaneta N.
Dario's where have you been all my life ?! I am in love with this place! I tried the highly recommended Cubano sandwich and it's phenomenal! Their employees couldn't be more friendlier if they tried. I only wish that they were open on Sundays. I will "forget" to bring lunch to work more often so I can come here on my lunch breaks. Dario's is now officially my favorite lunch spot in Palatine and surrounding areas.
(5)Ed A.
I am conflicted about writing up an awesome review about Dario's. Not because it doesn't deserve it - it totally does. Dario's is fantastic. Years ago, I heard that the residents of Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon had something in common. They LOVED the city they lived in, and discouraged anyone from moving there. Basically, they were concerned that an influx of people would change the city they loved. Such is the case with Dario's. This is a small sandwich shop that kicks the crap out of the chains. The best Potbelly sandwich may come close, but places like Subway and Jimmy John's aren't even in this league. There are maybe 20 seats inside. Maybe 30 seats total if you count the tables outside. That's not a lot. The kind, personable service I received will be challenged when their business increases. I hope the owners are scoping out a larger piece of real estate, because they're going to outgrow their awesome corner spot very soon. Back to my conflict. Do I want Dario's to only have modest, sustainable success so I can continue to enjoy the experience? Or should I encourage anyone within lunch distance to check it out? If this review is posted, then I clearly did the right thing...
(5)Steve S.
My wife and I dropped into Dario's for a quick lunch earlier this week. We both enjoy supporting privately owned restaurants. We were not disappointed. We had the lentil soup which was good. My wife enjoyed a Santa Fe salad and I had the Cubano sandwich. The salad was large with lots of extras and a somewhat spicy chipotle ranch dressing. We both liked it. The Cubano was quite large and tasted great, with lots of meat and the right amount of tang from the pickles and mustard. The only drawback was that the smell of the place, which wasn't unpleasant and I believe that of the Panini maker, hung on us and our clothes for quite a while afterward. However, I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a solid lunch. We will be back.

Clean simple decor, good food, good portions. My husband had the Cubano sandwich and a cup of Pasta Fagioli. He was happy with both, but could not finish the sandwich. I had the Mediterranean salad in which I asked for no cheese because I'm on the Paleo diet. The salad was big! I finished it because I just could not stop eating it. The salad also came with bread which my husband says was just the right amount of chewy, crunchy, yummy! We will definitely come here again, and we will tell our friends about this place.

Thrilled to see this place so busy during the week! Friendly, fast, delicious. Outdoor seating is a bonus!! The soup and half sandwich deal is great, and the salad was a nice surprise of freshness! I had the Southwest salad...chock full of avocado, tomatoes, chicken and a delicious dressing. Perfect for a Summer lunch! They are Panera prices...nothing too expensive. Come early, grab a table outside and enjoy the people watching. Oh, does that make me sound creepy?

Great food and the services is quick. I order frequently when at work. I call ahead and pick up and my order is always ready waiting and fresh. I recommend trying this local place and supporting the local community! Great additional to downtown Palatine. Only down side is it is a little pricey.

Fresh food, great flavor, and good portions. I suggest their Border Wrap with Chicken, their flatbreads are also very good. I would recommend sitting outside if possible, it does get a little smokey inside.

Today was my third time eating here since they opened. I usually go for a panini but today I had a Mediterranean salad since I'm trying to eat healthier. My meal was great, just like the previous two. I wish the hours were a bit more robust, because as it stands, I can really only make it for a weekend lunch, but it's worth it when I can. The staff has always been very friendly. The food takes a few minutes to prepare because everything is fresh and made to order. But as far as sandwich places go, this is one of the best. Take a look at their menu. You can also build your own panini or sandwich from the ground up. If this place doesn't survive due to lack of business, it's a sad day for downtown Palatine.

I went for lunch with Co workers. This place had pretty good food! The flatbread/pizzas are a big size and very tasty. The salads are huge and looked fresh! The service was great and the place was cozy. Parking is a breeze. Had nothing bad to say. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

We visited Dario today while waiting for someone arriving by train. I was looking for vegetarian options & they offered to make a panini sandwich with Chipotle hummus with all kinds of vegetables thrown in. This was among the best sandwiches I have had to date. We came here not expecting much but will be returning again.

Dario's is a wonderful little restaurant with AMAZING FRESH food. His chopped salad is to die for and his pizzas are out of this world!!!

I've been here a few times and am really impressed with the sandwiches. I've gotten the fiesta and the cubano, and they were both some of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever eaten. They are creative and have a lot going on in both. I look forward to trying more things here, but it will be hard to not order the Fiesta.

Great sandwiches! Stopped in after I got off the train and picked up the Fiesta Panini, the BBQ pork sandwich and the kids pizza. My wife and I shared, and we both thought the Fiesta was the better but both were excellent. The habanero aoili sauce had just the right amount of kick. The kids also enjoyed the pizza. Oh, and the sandwiches are huge! Friendly, personal service as well.

Cute little restaurant with outdoor seating in the heart of downtown Palatine. Family owned and everything is made fresh. Love the caprese panini...the salads and soups are good too.....

Absolutely the best food in the northwest suburbs. The terms "sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc." do not begin to describe the exceptional, hand-crafted, and flavor-packed menu items. Have only tried one of their soups, a fresh-from-scratch chili, and it was awesome, too! Everything on the menu is fresh, top quality, and exceptionally tasty. The toughest part of dining at Dario's is narrowing down the many exceptional choices. Owners and staff are friendly and make regulars and newcomers feel very welcome. It's clear that the owners are not only skilled and talented, but also have a passion for food and a great love of their customers. Their attention and care is evident in every detail, right down to the beautiful (and well designed) menu, the way they pack orders to go, and even the ice they serve. (Yes, even the ice!) Dario's is without equal, and without a doubt, the best restaurant around!

This PLACE IS AWESOME. I had the chipotle hummus wrap. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Perfectly crisped wrap, amazing roasted red pepper and caramelized red onion in the chicken/lettuce/hummus filling. Every bite was exploding with flavor. My husband is a regular and had the Mediterranean salad, which also was incredibly fresh and made with love. Do not be deceived by the counter service format - this place has incredible food and you will not be disappointed. It is worth the slightly higher price point for the format. Go go go!!

My wife and I have eaten there about 6 times. I try something different every time. Every meal I have had there has been fantastic. The Cubano and the Club Wrap were todays choices. AWESOME!! Just go and try something, you will not be disappointed. Everyone behind the counter is friendly and very helpful. I love this little gem in Palatine.

Dario's is hands down the best sandwich shop in Palatine, I would even go as far as any sandwich shop I have been to. First of all when you use good FRESH ingreidents you are going to achieve that! Second of all the owners love to make you happy! And Happy they do!!! I have sent so many people there and not ONE has complained and if you ever did, they would make sure you were pleased and fix it!!! I love the Chopped chicken and the club wrap and my husband loves the club panini and my son LOVES LOVES the BBQ roasted pork and has sent all his friends in for it! Just go, you will be very pleased!

The Fiesta sandwich is the best! Please go and try it out because I hope this place stays in business. All the food is great. I've even taken people from work for lunch and I work in Schaumburg!

Went in today after going to the farmer's market, shared Mediterranean salad and the Margherita flatbread. SO DELICIOUS! Everything was made fresh right there, which made me feel good knowing that my food hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp. Clean restaurant, so friendly, artsy-urban feel in downtown Palatine. Will definitely be back soon!

Just found this cute little place in Palatine when we were looking for a lunch place today. So good!! I had the Cubano Sandwich which was awesome with habanero aioli and my wife had the Santa Fe salad which was a nice size and really good too. Also tried cups of minestrone soup and chicken and orzo soup - both really tasty. Definitely coming back to this nice little spot. They're pretty new - go check them out!

Great food and service, but the only complaint I have is the food be handled with gloves rather than bare hands. Other than that no issues. Amazing taste!

Stopped by today with some friends. All the food is delicious & freshly made. Loved the roasted red pepper soup. Looking forward to going back!
