I kinda am hesitant on this review, I mean its okay... But I was not blown away like many of the reviews suggest. I'm not sure that they bake on sight, so I wonder where they get the goods from. If you want some sweets, they have a decent selection and the staff seems super friendly. Park on the street tho, the lot is a little Crazy!

I'm so happy there is a donut shop in Oswego. I think they have delicious donuts. They also carry good coffee beans from River City. Cute little place.

The shop is tight and the parking is tighter. The donuts are pretty much the same thing you would get at Dunkin Donuts, but a little more pricey. A dozen of their donuts is $11.00 and their bavarian or boston creme has VERY LITTLE cream. A must try are their apple cider donut holes. I will still choose this place over Dunkin Donuts because I prefer supporting local businesses

LOVE this place. They have great, fresh donuts and good coffee and they are always friendly. They are open early in the morning (5:30am) so I can stop on my way to work to pick up a dozen for my staff. The cinnamon rolls are to die for - real cream cheese frosting and they are huge. Love "The Sisters"!!

I mean, I know this place gets a lot of great ratings, but frankly I struggle to see what all the hub-ub is about. It is a little quaint donut shop. They sell donuts, coffee and pastries. Dont get me wrong I would rather go here than Dunkin Donuts 100% of the time, but I guess I just dont see a huge difference in this place vs Dunkin. Donuts were okay (I was a little disappointed in the amount of cream in my bavarian creme donut) but I just was not very impressed. Having a little one I was also kind of disappointed at how small the place was. No room to sit, let alone bring a stroller in there. So my wife had to wait outside while I ordered, then we had to walk downtown to enjoy the donuts. Weird... Im glad I came here but I probably wont be back anytime soon, sorry

This little shop is a treasure in Oswego. They open before the sun comes up so you can get your fresh pastry fix with a cup of coffee on your way to work. The ladies here make these sweet treats fresh every morning (more like the middle of the night!) and sell out fast, for good reason. Their Danishes are sweet and fall-apart flaky and the old-fashioned chocolate-frosted cake donuts (my personal favorite) melt in your mouth. If they have a low point, it is that parking can be a little tough, especially during a rush, as their lot is tiny and void of painted lines. The ladies that run the shop are big supporters of the local schools and often do fund raisers which I think is great. They also do monthly specials, so check back often (hello, peanut butter & jelly donuts!)

I came across My Sister's Lil Donut Shop completely by accident. I had just come from an appointment in Oswego and was heading to Aurora to stop somewhere else. I missed a turn and my GPS directed me to S Madison St. It told me to continue straight, but I made an immediate left when my eyes caught sight of their sign. The parking lot is small and the people driving around it don't pay much attention, so be careful. As I went to make my left I was almost hit by another driver who decided he wanted to turn left before the intersection. He kinda made a diagonal into the lot and it was pretty scary. Go for street parking instead. The donut shop is also small, but people seem a lot calmer once they get inside. A customer held the door for me, people made room, and no one cut the line. I let a few people go ahead of me while I decided what I wanted because they have a pretty decent selection. I opted for a dozen and got a nice mix of donuts, Danish, and rolls. A dozen donuts is $11 and the specialty pastries will only set you back a little bit more. You can add them to your dozen and they'll only charge a small additional fee for it. The donuts were pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them again. I got a few gourmet types and was expecting more from them. I wanted the PB&J Bismarck to be a show stopper, but it paled in comparison to their regular Raspberry Danish. If I were in town, I'd definitely pick up another Danish or Cherry Fritter. I would not get a big box.

I've been going to Oswego for 5+ years as we have various investment properties in town...I don't know what took me so long to stop at this little donut shop. Today was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last. The parking lot is extremely small as is the shop itself. It was busy this morning and we were literally bumping into others. Upon walking in and looking at the donuts, I thought to myself just your average donuts. I ordered a small coffee and a donut topped with chocolate glaze and coconut. The coffee was good and the cup generous. I really liked the to-go lid with the sliding mouth cover. Never seen that before and no sloshed coffee in my car. The donut was not what I expected. It looked like a dense cake donut, but nope! The donut was so light and airy and not heavy at all. It was very yummy! Next time I will get other varieties to try and dozen to take home. All the staff were smiling and friendly, I recommend this little gem of a shop and treat yourself to these yummy donuts. The lack of a star is for the small lot to maneuver in, one negative.

My phone was destroyed the same day I got to try My Sister's Lil Donut Shop, so I don't have any photos to post up. As many of you who know me, know, I have been on the hunt for the best donuts in the suburbs and this is the top contender to beat! I was in yeasty, cakey, heaven with the donuts I got from here! The shop is cute and small in a little house on the corner of Madison and Rt. 34. Parking sucks, because there isn't any. You have to park on the street. They don't have the biggest variety, but that's okay, because it allowed them to perfect what they do offer. My wife and I got a half dozen. Chocolate cake donut with chocolate frosting, vanilla cake donut with chocolate frosting and nuts, peanut butter and jelly donut, chocolate long john, sour cream donut, and powdered cake. Every single donut was pure heaven. They were fresh and delicious with each bite. The best thing about these, they weren't overly sugary. With each bite I would get lost in the flavoring. By far my favorite was the peanut butter and jelly donut. It was a strawberry jelly filled donut topped with peanut butter frosting. Eating it felt like I was wrapped up in a big soft blanket while floating on clouds with my taste buds being massaged by gods. Please go, and check them out! Support local and treat your taste buds!

This donut shop was a small little shop, but cute! To start off, there were extremely friendly and so kind to my 2 year old son! Now to the donut: the donuts we got were a chocolate sprinkles cake donut for my son and the vanilla long john. Both donuts were fresh and the flavor of the frosting literally exploded in your mouth!! Finally, I love to support local so this is an added bonus!

I LOVE everything we have gotten at My Sister's Lil Donut Shoppe! I especially love the Cinnamon Sugar Twist. My husband loves the Raspberry Filled. The donuts do not leave you with a greasy film in your mouth like some other donut joints. They also have a GREAT Carrot Cake. Highly recommended in our house!

Every other morning I go for a run around the park nearby and on my off days, I walk over to this donut shoppe. I love it! The inside is very small, you can almost bump shoulders with people but the person there is ALWAYS pleasant and the donuts melt in your mouth, so... its a small price to pay.

I base my review on the donuts alone, and should I make the trip out to Oswego, I can update accordingly. MSLDS is a curious case, because of the cake donuts. The first one I ate was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. The second was a plain, chocolate frosted cake. When I ate the chocolate cake, I honestly though it was baked. Maybe it was. The chocolate dough was so moist and soft on the inside, I thought I was eating a cake. For real. When I ate the chocolate frosted cake, I realized that the cake donuts did have a crust; it was just on the thin side. The yeast donuts were soft and moist inside as well, sort of like a lighter and more delicate version of the cake. It did leave me with a "it needs a little something" impression just to give it a little boost. Maybe a tad more sugar? The frostings absolutely explode with flavor in your mouth, and on a plain cake and yeast donut, they take the spotlight. Very, very smooth, too. Lots of points for that. Overall, it's not what I look for in my standard for the perfect donut, but the donuts from MSLDS do make for an intense palate experience. Worth a try if you are in the area.

Fun treat to have when we are in a mood for donuts! Glad we have this in Oswego. Also like to pick up a dozen or two when we have meetings at work and they always go over well. Definitely a lot better than Dunkin Donuts. It is a very small shop so plan on taking the donuts to go. There is no other option. Don't be afraid to park on the street to avoid the lot. Coffee is OK!

I have never actually been to this establishment, but I work with the owner's son and he has brought their donuts and pastries to work with him the last two Saturdays. WHAT A TREAT!! I don't even like donuts usually, but these are lovely. Last Saturday he brought their cinnamon rolls, and these are fantastic! At his recommendation, I microwaved mine for 10 seconds and it was just perfect. I can't wait to visit the actual business. GREAT JOB YOU GUYS!! You put all other donut shops to shame!

My favorite donuts around. Haven't found any better. The prices are great too. Only about $2 more a dozen compared to the garbage they sell at Dunkin.

COME FOR THE DONUTS - STAY FOR THE CHARM!! What's not to like about My Sister's Lil Donut Shop? The donuts are delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from. Tiger tails and the sour cream donuts are two of my favorites . . . also the coconut crunch are top-notch! The staff is always friendly and inviting! If you're looking for delicious donuts (not the bland, boxed variety from other locations) this is it!!!

Nice little doughnut shop.

Very good donuts and pastries, definitely more in line with a bakery than DD or other chains. Wasn't overly impressed by the selection, but everything we got was delectable. Between Sisters and Harners, they're by far the best donut shops in the western burbs.

I love donuts, period. Because I love donuts so much, I'm fairly particular about the quality of them. When I grew out of Dunkin Donuts and I began to afford better quality, I focused my bakery purchases mostly on small, local businesses. My favorite is cake donuts with french crullers coming in a close second. With all this said, "My Sister's" has the best cake donuts I have ever eaten. I've tried them on different days early in the morning for breakfast, at noon for a dessert and close to their 3 pm closing time on a craving. Every time, they were soft, the perfect texture and flavor. I don't know what kind of equipment they have in the back... I can't see the kitchen from the front area. But if they do get these delights from another location, they must be hand delivered by angels. I'm happy happy happy to have his pastry shop in our town. These wonderful delectables will probably kill me eventually, but oh, what a way to die!

This is a great little place downtown. They have wonderful doughnuts in a variety of styles. The staff is very friendly and always tries to help. They are very patient and amazing with the kids, let them pick out their doughnuts.

Best donuts in the area! The only issue is they are closed on Sunday! Really?!?!?

Sheri from Oswego, I was so glad to find this gem of a bakery, everyone there is friendly and you are always greeted with a smile. Now to the important part, their doughnuts are even more amazing than they are,the freshness and taste "amazing". I have hade there coffee cakes, pecan rolls, and tried almost every doughnut, and I honestly cant find one I haven't enjoyed, since finding this gem of a local bakery I had to step up my workout so I can indulge in this wonderful guilty pleasure. Try their bakery. Supporting our local businesses is important but one taste and you will keep going back !!!! There the best.

These ladies are amazing! My now wife and I had asked if they would help create favors for our wedding guests and they were more than accommodating! Everytime we walk in the door they have smiles on their faces and are happy to have a conversation and catch up. I don't think David B was even at the right donut shop because these ladies definitely know what they are doing!!!!
(5)Jessica Z.
We LOVE these donuts. They are always delicious, we love the tiger tails! Keep up the great work ladies!!
(4)David B.
This shop is a joke. The donut's are not even homemade. The dough comes in frozen and they defrost it and then glaze or frost them. They look and taste the same as any donut you get at Dominick's or Jewel. The donuts even show the marks in the middle where they are extruded via mass production machine. The pastries are the same as any restaurant would get frozen from one of their suppliers. They have no fryer in the back or any equipment to make donuts, they just defrost them and bake them. Yuk! We went there once and would never go back. Find a good local real bakery and stick with those. These are an insult to anyone who has ever had a good bakery fresh pastry.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! And I'm not a donut/pastry person. I often pick up donuts at take them to the office. They are gone in seconds! They also had paczkis for Fat Tuesday. They were amazing! You can really tell the ingredients are of good quality and the food is made with love. The service is awesome. The parking situation is not desirable but it's worth the struggle to swing through. I love having such a great small business in our quaint little town! Way better donuts than DD!
