Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Different style of pizza. Like the chewy New York dough type feel to the pizza. Can eat a whole large by myself but I have to share. No real place to sit down at eat, designed more for carryout. Recommend you try it at least once, most likely you'll be back for more.

Love Alex's pizza!! Real east coast pizza right here in Ofallon! This is my go to pizza place- check him out! You won't be sorry ;)

We moved to Ofallon a year ago and we have eaten at most of the local eateries. To say that this area is starved for some good restaurants and take-out eateries would be an understatement. We have little kids so we have had pizza at most of the chains and from the local Gia's Pizza. Alex's was good. I didn't think it was a "dive" at all. Just because it's small and there isn't room to eat doesn't mean it's a dive. It was clean and organized. As stated on other reviews, the owner does it all. He takes the orders, cooks them up, and runs the register. I didn't see another body in there. We got a large pepperoni pizza, a stromboli, and a calzone. The pepperoni pizza was much closer to East Coast thin crust than anything else around here. It wasn't award winning, but it was good. I thought the calzone and stromboli were pretty good as well. The owner was very nice, told me about how he escaped from Albania in the early 80s, and gave my young son a high five and a sucker. Overall, I enjoyed it. We will be grabbing takeout from here again in the future. It isn't going to blow you away, but compared to other local options, it's definitely towards the top of the list.

Alex has a pretty damn good NY style pizza. If you're doing take out, not a better option. We did have a hard time calling to order, so so we ended up having to go to the store just to order. Pizza won't disappoint though.

You call Alex answers the phone, Alex makes your pizza, you arrive Alex cashes you out! Owner is extremely nice and makes one heck of a pie! A must go! Pizza is the perfect blend of sauce, cheese and crispness. As authentic as it gets I think he is from Italy or something. Getting lunch from Alex today I can't wait! Pepperoni and onion pizza here I come!

Pizza and calzones are always cooked to perfection. Owner is also the cook. He makes his own dough and sauce (both of which are amazing). He makes true New York style pizza with the nice thin, crispy crust and foldable slices. He also has the best calzones in the area. Definitely give him a try and you'll never go back to St. Louis style "pizza" again!

I wanted to like this place, but I was quite disappointed. I ordered a calzone (hippie roll) and it was nothing but cheese. I think I found3 pieces of sausage, and 2 pepper pieces on the whole thing. I also ordered a side salad that was huge. I was hoping for the best as it looked appetizing, but the dressing wasn't that great. Good otherwise. The owner seemed really nice. I'm not sure why this place has 5 stars as a review? I was definitely expecting more from a 5 star place.

I use Yelp frequently to find good food, but have never felt the need to leave a review...but after devouring our large NY style pepperoni pizza and stromboli this evening I needed to let everyone know just how good Alex's is. Looking for a takeout pizza? GO HERE.

I can't tell you whether this is authentic New York pizza but what I can tell you is my 250 pound self enjoyed every bite of that large pizza. I folded it, shoveled it, and my stomach said, "yes please - may I have another." I've eaten Alex's pizza twice now and there is no such thing as leftovers. I can't wait to dive into the calzones and stromboli. It is a one man show - hole in the wall type place but the taste is legit. Get the kids a chain pizza and let the adults enjoy Alex's pizza. Don't just drop in - give him 15-20 minutes and that is when the magic will happen. If you happen to just drop in - Alex is quite the story teller so your 15-20 minutes will fly. It is now my pizza of choice - you get the 250 pound picture - don't you?

I would say don't let the pictures fool you. The pizza might look really greasy but the taste is amazing. I'm happy to have a NY style pizza place here in the area. The taste is comparable to Sabarro's pizza in my estimation; it has a bright, clean and crisp taste. Ingredients are great apart from the sausage which is more like those Tostinos bits. Place opens at 11 am, but Alex has to have the ovens rev up, so he cannot make anything from scratch until 11:30. This is what he told me on the phone when I called in an order at 11. (this gives you an indication of a one man operation) The price is good for such a quality pizza. Be sure to pop on by!

My wife and I got 3 pizzas from Alex's on Friday night to take to Global Brews (just down the road) and were really glad we did. The pizza crust is fantastic, New York style pizza...easily folds for pizza sandwich! The combination of fresh toppings and cheese was perfect. We enjoyed it so much, I'll probably get more tonight! We had the Deluxe, the Lasagne Pizza and a Pepperoni pizza. All of which were prompt devoured. I frequently go to Global Brews and from now on, I'll be taking Alex's Pizza with me. Great one man show operation!

Noooooooo! This was our favorite pizza place! Please tell me Alex didn't have to close his doors forever! :-( This awesome pizza place will be missed. I'm going to pour some of my 40 out tonight for my homie, Alex, who made one gangsta of a pie!

New York style pizza in O Fallon, Yes way! Alex is a warm hearted single person pizzeria. He does it all, from taking your order, cooking, serving and even chatting it up. If you want great NY style pizza this is the place to get it!
(5)Daniel V.
Alex is a one man show, and sometimes he is busy. You might have to wait or get curt responses. Still, the pizza is excellent and he is happy to chat you up when time allows.

If you are going to a chain for pizza you are doing it wrong, sorry. This place is the real deal. No frills. Just great northeastern style pizza. Seriously, did I mention no frills? Just get take out for a stay-at-home night. Thin crust. Friendly owner. As other reviewers have stated, Alex has a one-man show going on here. He takes the calls, he makes the pizza and he chats with you when you go to pick it up. Really, guys, it's no-frills, maybe even a little divey, but it smells divine in there. Call ahead for take out- the 15 minutes is worth it. Shelve the St. Louis cracker crust thing for a hot minute, because this is foldable pizza y'all...it's as north-eastern as you're going to get on this side of the river, hell maybe both sides. And Dude, Alex makes Stromboli. Right?? Where else are you going to get Stromboli around here...and his calzones have this Italian-American gal's stamp of approval. A two topping 16 inch pizza will run you just under 13 bucks, and the Stromboli and calzones are under five. Go!
