Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Just retruned from deployment...Alex's pie is the best! He was nice enough to also make garlic knots...they were Awesome. Alex is a great guy making some great pies...if you want east coast real thin and chewy crust, wonderful sause without being sweet, please don't pass this place up.

Great pizza... Period! Reminds me of authentic Italian pie from Italy. Once you start thinking about the pizza, you just can't stop yourself from picking up the phone to order. Great pizza!!

O'Fallon is inundated with pizza options, both chain and local, and Alex's is one of the BEST. I eat here way more than a girl on a diet should because it is so delicious. I cannot vouch for authenticity, as I've never had pizza in New York, but this pizza is GOOD. Alex, the owner and sole employee (and total sweetheart), used to work in pizzerias in NYC and somehow ended up here making his own. Lucky us! I definitely recommend eating here. The only "cons" to Alex's is there is no delivery option and because he runs the place 100% solo an order takes 20-25 minutes versus the 10-15 of the chain places down the street. WELL worth the wait and few minutes drive to grab it! I like that he uses all fresh veg on his pizza, including mushrooms! There are a few places in the area that used canned...gross. Veg on his pizza always come out just right and don't make the pizza soggy. The crust is thin and a little chewy, not the "cracker" style of STL. Give it a chance and you'll be back again and again! We've had the pizza and calzones - no complaints on either.

As other reviewers have stated, Alex has a one-man show going on here. He takes the calls, he makes the pizza and he chats with you when you go to pick it up. Really, guys, it's no-frills, maybe even a little divey, but it smells divine in there. Call ahead for take out- the 15 minutes is worth it. Shelve the St. Louis cracker crust thing for a hot minute, because this is foldable pizza y'all...it's as north-eastern as you're going to get on this side of the river, hell maybe both sides. And Dude, Alex makes Stromboli. Right?? Where else are you going to get Stromboli around here...and his calzones have this Italian-American gal's stamp of approval. A two topping 16 inch pizza will run you just under 13 bucks, and the Stromboli and calzones are under five. Go!

Best pizza in town, hands down! Got it the first day they opened, and have been back often. I've been waiting a long time for authentic NY style, and Alex's is it. Give the Stromboli a try as well!

I grew up in North Jersey and have lived in the St. Louis area for 26 years. I love it in this area but have always missed NY/NJ pizza. So many places say the make NY pizza but this is one of the few, and only in O'Fallon, that actually does it. This place is great. My NY pizza cravings are finally satisfied. The owner says he plans on selling pizza by the slice soon Definitely try this place.

Best ny/nj pizza east of stl, the owner works alone, which is great, he takes great pride in his pizza. Service may be slow due to him working alone, but the finished product is worth any wait!!

I was recommended this by a friend who said this is a lil taste of brooklyn. It was fantastic, and the owner is funny. Must try for ofallon residents. MUCH BETTER than pizza world.

My wife and I decided to try out this new(ish) pizza shop. It is housed in the old Pizza World building on WEST highway 50. I emphasize WEST Highway 50 because the listed address takes you out to an industrial park area. We had to call to get directions and the owner was very kind and helpful on the phone. Once we got to the place, we walked in and were greeted by the owner. He was very friendly, very chatty, and we knew we were in for some quality food. We ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple and a 2 liter. Total price? $16.65. He made the pizza right in front of us, and told us it would be 10-15 minutes. Soon another family showed up, mom, dad, and 4 children. The owner gave each kid a sucker and chatted with them as well. Our pizza finished up in the oven, and the owner boxed it up and we were off. Once we got it home we dug in and it was delicious. We will definitely be return customers. Great price, extremely friendly service, and above all great tasting pizza. Give this guy a chance, he deserves it.

Excellent pizza! The sauce was delicious, nice cheese blend, and the crust was thin and chewy. The owner himself, was very friendly and showed me my pizza, which to me, shows his pride in his pizza. I will definitely tell everyone about this new find!

Went to college in NY, now live in Shiloh. The classic cheese slice is the barometer of a good NY pie, and Alex's doesn't disappoint. I would recommend Alex's to anyone looking for NY style pizza. The crust is right, the cheese to grease ratio is perfect, making that bite first amazing. I'll be eating at Alex's at least a couple times a month! Thank you.

I have been waiting for this place since I moved here 10 years ago. Best pizza around!!!! Thank you Alex!

Some of the best pizza I've had in the area. Ordered the Veggie Pizza and it was fabulous, everything was fresh and crisp, great sauce! Also had a pepperoni and Italian sausage and it rocked. Alex's puts the other pizza joints to shame! Support a small business--go local. This is a pizza you won't regret!

I've been wanting to try this place because I LOVE NY/NJ pizza. Alex's only does take-out right now, but he will be delivering soon. I ordered a large half pepperoni, half mushroom with a tossed salad on the side. The pizza is definitely the best NY pizza in the area. I like it better than Schiappa's (sorry). The pizzas aren't as big as they are in NY - the large is 14". I'm used to a large that is at least 16". They do have an extra large that is 16". Also, the crust is pretty thin so it's totally foldable, but you tend to eat more of it! The salad was huge and had lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, onions and cheese and had a creamy Greek dressing on the side. Alex uses high quality ingredients and takes a lot of pride in his business. The store itself is immaculately clean. My friend really loves calzones and said his calzone is the best in the area (better than Bella Milano and Schiappa's) HOWEVER, he doesn't serve sauce on the side. So, be sure to insist you need sauce on the side. I plan to order from Alex's in the future, it's better quality than the chain restaurants and I like to support to the local small businesses :)
