Food: good Service: very good Price: very fair Environment: it's good for To Go Distance: good I had Red Sea and papaya salad. I wanted them make very spicy and they did not let me down. The people worked there were very patient and friendly too! I would love to go back for sure!

Paid $12 for Duck noodles. I was expecting something a bit less literal; I received a ton of dry noodles with a sprinkling of duck meat (and a lot of skin). No sauce, barely any veggies. It didn't taste awful, it was just... not worth the money.

Quick service and decent food. They have a good lunchtime deal. The only seating they have is a small waiting area so it's pretty much only a takeout place.

Against my wishes, my co--workers asked if we could order from this place. So this was my 3rd try for this place in 8 years. Once again, I ordered pad thai. Thinking maybe the chef has a bad day the 1st try or that they got a new chef since it been 8 years ago since I had a pad thai from here. It tastes like noodle in chili sauce. No bean sprout. How is it a pad thai if there is no bean sprout. The portion is also small for the price. Strike 3... I'm done with this place.

So I decided to give this place a try and have it delivered. Their website offers online ordering which worked very well and is efficient and worth using. The food arrived in an hour and the delivery person was pleasant. The order came correctly as it was ordered although it was not particularly warm but it's easy enough to heat up. Tried a variety of appetizers fried tofu, pot stickers and spring rolls. The spring rolls were nicely made and had a fresh flavor. The pot stickers on the other hand were not good. Flavorless doughy pillows of moosh. For entrees ordered the pad Thai and the yellow curry. The curry wasn't good it barely had and potato or much of anything in it and was watery and lacked flavor. The pad Thai was average. Overall the food was uninspiring and isn't going to bring me back. Not many other thai options in the area to compete with makes it an option worth trying but don't expect too much.

Ok so i came back to try this place out after a fairly bland dish at Thai Thai. The Pad Woon Sen is much better than i recall. I also tried the pad se ew and that was pretty darn good too. My gf wanted soup so i got the tom yum and hell yes! It was delicious, i don't have anything to compare it too so i have to assume its the best lol. The beef in the pad se ew was a little dry but really not bad, it worked fine with the dish. The chicken in the pad soon wen was a little dry but i kinda expect that with any fried noodle dish. The shrimp in the tom yum was a little fishier than it should have been but maybe it was in my head, i'm more of a cold shrimp guy. The customer service was great, the guy behind the counter was helpful and very polite. The prices were a little bit much. I believe i paid $27 and change for the two dishes and small soup. Either way this place has definitely earned a place back with me and i will visit again to try something new, maybe even the crab rangoon to see if those have improved.

And the search for good thai delivery in the North Shore (specifically to Glencoe) continues after this week's course of events: * Random man at gym mentions that Simply Thai is AMAZING thai food * I look it up on Yelp and note the 3 1/2 star rating * I decide to ignore the Yelp reviews and take random man up on his suggestion * Delivery guy shows up within 40 minutes on a Friday night * A famished hubby and I polish off (only because we were starving) bland spring rolls, pad thai and pad see ew The search continues, but next time around I'll be trusting the Yelp reviews over the random men at the gym....

One star for service. In my first review, I raved about this place! I got the Basil chicken and it was delicious, and the service (by the owner's son (?) was great). However, recently, I drove out of my way to get the Basil chicken once more. I placed my order on the road and was greeted by the owner. He was rude and abrupt. When he asked how spicy I wanted my meal from 1 to 5, I replied, "3.5 to 4." He wasn't pleased and barked back, "There are no halves! Pick one!" My mother overheard the conversation and was surprised I didn't hang up on him. He was rude a few other times but I had my heart set on that Basil chicken. I went to pick up my order. The owner wasn't exactly friendly when I walked in. After I paid (my mistake), I said that he'd been "a bit rude" to me over the phone. His response? A condescending, "Pffft!" followed by a disingenuous, "Have a nice day." Then, he turned and walked away from me. The delivery man looked apologetic and seemed to feel sorry for me, haha. I don't think I'm the first, nor will I be the last, to complain about the owner's poor service if he doesn't make some changes. I wasn't expecting much more than an apology, but the owner acted like he'd done me a favor by allowing me to pay him for his food. Wow. Anyway, the food is good but I don't plan on going back because of the owner. I'll find another tasty Thai joint. Too bad.

It's so hard to give Simply Thai two stars after such a pleasant experience. The service and the folks working here were wonderful, friendly and super fast. Unfortunately, it couldn't save the meal. The "fresh" spring rolls were nearly inedible. I thought these would be similar to a Vietnamese summer roll (very thin rice paper with lettuce, noodle, carrot, tofu and chicken). Instead, they roll the ingredient in a thick wrapper multiple times. It had no seasoning and the thick wrapper made it painfully dry (even drenched in plum dipping sauce). I love basil duck...to an obsessive degree. This is not a very good version: under seasoned, oily, nearly no basil flavor. After the perfect front of the house service, I was expecting a delicious meal, but it ended up being a disappointment.

Just got Pad Thai there today! Super yummy and quick. One of those perfectly amazing Thai food places. Cozy enough to eat there but still just as delicious for take out. Also the guy at the front was really friendly!

I really like the men who work at this carry-out only Thai restaurant. The food preparation is quick, service particularly pleasant, and portions are reasonable in size. Prices are consistent with other Thai restaurants in the area. Sadly I can't say that the food is anything but average. We had Pad Thai and a few appetizers and curry entrees. Many of the items were overly sweet and the Pad Thai was remarkable for being slightly dry and bland.

The food is very good. Their crab talay (think crab rangoons) are fantastic. Not heavy and dough-y like the typical Chinese ones. Alex the boss is friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food, while good, isn't perfect. It's all about the portions. For example. The duck basil. Tasty but the last several times I've ordered this, there's been less and less duck. Skimping on the protein is an unfortunate trend from this place. I will try again sometime in the future hoping to get my $ worth, but if it happens again, I'll be passing.

I had a great experience for my first visit here. Came in today with my mom and I was feeling a bit under the weather. I always crave spicy thai soup whenever I'm not feeling well & I decided to check out Simply Thai and their Tom Kha soup. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly employee at the counter who was very welcoming and answered any questions we had. (I only ordered the Tom Kha soup with tofu- so that's what I'm basing my review off of until I visit again and try more of their menu items) The soup was freshly made, super hot(temp) and LOADED with tofu & mushrooms. It was excellent! The broth was seasoned very nicely & had a little kick of spicy heat. It was prepared swiftly & the employee at the counter handed it to me and told me to feel better. Very sweet. I look forward to going back to try more of their dishes & try one of their many smoothie flavors.

Recommended Pad Thai Thai curry Con Quality control issue Generally i had good experience, but often times I got overcooked noodle and rice that had texture like oatmeal.

I've not even tasted the food and I would like to give them zero star. Not even the greatest meal of my life will let me change my rating. Like a lot of reviewers mentioned the owner is beyond rude.....go there if you have zero self respect and don't ask any questions or else you will get a "don't bother me" treatment.

Truly the worst Thai food I have ever had. Ordered delivery. Had spicy garlic edamame which came with no spice or garlic and were not defrosted. Crispy panang noodles with tofu and extra vegetables came with no tofu and 5 small veggies (1 piece of broccoli, 2 carrot slivers, a mushroom and a peapod). Also tried the Tom Yum soup which was not flavorful. Would not try them again.

Lovely little place owned by a friendly family with delicious thai food. And cooked very quickly! I was going for Pad Thai so many times, and then started discovering other wonderful dishes, and still have a way to go to try everything! I order here at least once a week.

Great little carry-out Thai place. The service here is always friendly and prompt, and my order is always ready right on time. And for me, when I have need for a little spicy in my dinner, this is a great choice. The red curry is quite tasty, but my favorite is the drunken noodles with beef, ordered a little extra spicy. Just the right amount of heat in there so I can still taste all the other ingredients in the dish. The simply thai shrimp fried rice (with good sized shrimp) and crab talay (crab rangoons) are pretty good too, especially for the spicy adverse among us. The portions are a good size. Not quite "dinner all week" sized like a lot of Asian takeout can be, but still more than plenty for 2 good meals. I've ordered from them multiple times, and every experience has been great. I will continue to order from them.

This place is tucked in a strip mall with a takeout vibe; they have a very small dining area with a couple of chairs, so I suppose most people call in and grab their food. We ordered a bunch of food -- what I noticed is that unlike most asian restaurants, the takeout containers are not bulging to the brim full of food. The food is packed in plastic clear top throw away containers and half way filled. We ordered the salmon curry and it was good -- the sauce was probably the best part as the fish had the fishy smell, more than usual so it wasn't fresh. My health conscious side of me ordered a side of brown rice which was surprisingly good. We also ordered the beef and chicken Pad Se-Ew and it was pretty good as well. We also got the Tom Yum -- not a fan, but others thought it was good... it was too citrusy for me. The "King and I" was tasty -- it was pretty much like chicken with peapods, and the sauce was non-existent, which was fine with me as I like light sauce, but if you're expecting or wanting a lot of sauce, this is not the dish for you. Again, small portions, there was 5 of us and the takeout bill came out to be $75. We were relatively full. Tip for you yelpers -- remember to check-in via Yelp and they offer a 15% off yelp offer. Since I'm paranoid, I usually check-in almost when I'm about to leave, so I was already driving out of the parking lot when I saw my missed opportunity.

First time visitor, we knew this place was here but had never tried so we stopped in on a whim to give it a try and order some dinner. The staff was friendly enough, and they had a fair amount of pick up traffic while we were there. We also told them we were first time visitors. Not sure if it is always the case, maybe some impromptu smells from the kitchen, but the place did not smell well when we came in. This is in contrast to the Chinese place next door that we stopped in to pick up a menu, it smelled wonderful. We ordered Tom Yum soup with shrimp and red curry with chicken. Since we were walk-ins, we did not feel like waiting 25 minutes to have it made so we paid to have it delivered. We tipped ahead of time and paid a dollar extra for brown rice over jasmine (which sucked that they up-charged you). When the food arrived at the house, nothing about the order was correct. No brown rice, no red curry, no chicken, and no shrimp in the soup. It smelled good but it was not what we ordered. In addition, the portion was on the small side as well, seemed like ten bucks worth of food. It seemed like one person would have to order salad, soup and an entree in order to be satisfied. I called the place and told them what happened and that I was bringing the order back to be refunded. They refunded me without any issue and apologized for the confusion. In the end, it was a lot of effort for not much return, dashed our dinner plans and unfortunately was not a good first impression.

We have lived up in the north shore for 3 years and have driven by this place a million times... I am not sure why we never tried it, it's great! We tried it recently and they are extremely nice on the phone, asked when we wanted to pick up and in person very friendly. We always order Pad Se Ew with chicken and this was really GOOD! it is slightly different as we are used to the Chinese Broc and this version had reg broc, carrots and baby corn. I like the extra veggies but my husband did not love the corn (however he finished the plate and said it was great!). We are planning on getting this again very soon!! Will become regulars!

Wow what a disappointment! First of all I went to pick up my food and they forgot to give me the most expensive dish I ordered. Luckily I got into my car and checked if everything was there. Second of all, I paid $14 with tax for a beef teriyaki and the container is not even half full. In addition to that, the rice that comes along with it is not even topped off. It's like 3/4's of the box. I could've spent my money elsewhere and got ALOT more food for what I paid. The food itself was sub par. I offered the beef salad and didn't even taste like beef salad. The pad see ew I ordered was way too oily and again, box was HALF full and that was about $10 with tax. My whole order without the grubhub gift cards was about $46. If I didn't have the gift cards, I would've definitely called and complained. I'm just glad I only spent $26. Needless to say, I will definitely NOT be going back. Horrible. Just horrible. TOTAL RIP OFF. LESSON LEARNED.

I haven't been here in quite some time as I feel like there are much better thai places in the Northshore and northern suburbs. Here is the low down on this place since we used to come here a lot for carryout but then with time the quality went down and I felt like the pad thai (which is normally my favorite) was drenched in sauce, and it shouldn't be. Simply Thai, quite simply is: Carryout only. Portions are decent sized so I can't complain about that. Pad Thai lacks the flavor that it once had here. The staff and owners are very nice over the phone and in person. I guess if I'm ever right by the location, I may give this little place located on a tiny plaza a try again, but I don't have any cravings. Also prices are decent and competitive to other places nearby. Simply Thai, you're just a tad too simple for me and my "refined" Thai taste. However, I will send my friends that live by to give you guys a try since you're always happy when we visit.

Average Thai at an average price. Ordered the Tom Kha soup and the Mussamun curry with chicken. Both were fine, but nothing special. Not sure if I will go back, will try some other Thai places in Northbrook and see how,it compares.

I am in love with a thai place that has Salmon as option in pad thai. AMAZING! I started with a 4 four stars because of the price, but then i re-read what I wrote. SALMON PAD THAI!! $12 bucks is a great price... 5 stars! The food is always fresh, seasoned well, decent portion size and ready by pick-up time. I you order online you also earn rewards. The place is definitely more of a take out and not an eat in. They have a couch just to sit while waiting. The owners are great and friendly and I have no complaints. They've even rushed an order for me. I definitely will return, again and again!

For those who eat Thai in the NW burbs, I would say that this is 'I Am Siam' quality but Alt Thai portions and prices. Basically, it mediocre food with small and expensive portions. I have never dined in but had the take out on 3 occasions. If you are starving, you should drive down to I Am Siam or if you want good Thai go anywhere else.

Food is rather ordinary. If you've never experienced real Thai food before, it will probably be OK. If you know what things taste like in Bangkok, you'll certainly be disappointed. Owner refuses to accommodate requests to make food any more authentic at all (even the simplest things!). The limit of variation is "How spicy 1 to 5? I make it Bangkok spicy OK?" I had the Chicken Basil, which was really like a Chinese stir-fry with some chili added. Certainly a disappointing dish.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant through GrubHub. Called the restaurant directly because it was 40 minutes PAST my estimated arrival time. The lady I initially spoke to was nice, I was nice too. I heard a guy talking to her in the background they both kept insisting they didn't have my order. I asked her how that could be as they had already charged my card. She gave him the phone, I'd imagine it was the manager or owner and all he said was that they didn't have my order. I was trying to give them a second chance to locate my order and deliver it. I understand things get messed up, I just want my food. After a bunch of back and fourth these knuckleheads finally figured out it was through GrubHub and he said "ohh they never called us." That's when I said "I didn't know they're supposed to call you about the order" (I was simply making a comment. I also later spoke to GrubHub and they told me they had sent it to them via fax and that it was confirmed.) Here's the best part, this is when he responded in the most condescending tone saying "Ma'am is this your business or ours?" I laughed and said I didn't want the food anymore. I will never order from this place again. Read all the other reviews about poor management. I wonder how their food is handled... Kind of glad our order wasn't fulfilled.

I can't believe anyone really has a bad thing to say about this place. I''ve gotten take out from here several times and have always had a great experience. The food is absolutely delicious. It's well seasoned, not greasy, and always fresh. The vegetables are always crispy, and the meat I've had is always cooked just right - never too dry or under-cooked. Their Pad Thai is DELICIOUS! I've got no complaints about their portion size either - It's always MORE than enough to fill me up, and I usually can't even finish the entire dish in one sitting. The staff is always friendly, and there's never been a time where I haven't received a warm welcome or a smiling face. I usually order online, and it's always ready when I get there. Their quick service is key considering I usually work through my lunch and don't have a ton of time to wait around. I'm so glad my coworker recommended this place... Otherwise I might not have known it existed. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious meal!

Food is good. Service is very friendly. We usually go to stir crazy, but this is on my way home... Portions are decent. Doesn't seem like they skimp out on the main ingredients. Ordered carry out twice and taste was consistent.

Simply Thai is just a take out spot, so don't plan on eating there! Also, their parking lot is VERY small and there are two other shops right next door to it so parking can be a pain, but it's a take out spot so you shouldn't need to be parked illegally for too long. They have a pretty small menu here, but what they have is generally pretty good. I normally order the pad thai with chicken or the pad see-ew with beef, which is my favorite. my coworkers seem to like the garden mix lunch special too, but I have never tried it. Also, the pot stickers are something NOT to be ordered here, and the crab rangoon was meh, but then again, this isn't a chinese restaurant! Price is probably the biggest con of this place. for a pad see-ew with beef it will be just over $10 after tax. The Pad Thai is also just as much. For lunch, this can be quite a bit of cash. Also, the owner has been really nice every time I step into their place, altho it could have something to do with me being Thai as well (altho my Thai sucks), but they're always glad to see me and have hooked me up with some small extras. this place will continue to be my go to for Thai food during lunch, as the food is good, but the price will deter me from time to time.

Food was bland. We requested brown rice and they added an additional $2.00 for it. When we received the rive it was multi-grain, not brown rice. The rice was hard and old and clumped up like rocks. I called to complain and they contended that the rice was "fine, good and tasty", but said that I could bring my rice back to them and they would replace it with more instant multi-grain rice if I'd like. I'm not ordering from them again.

I'll be honest that I haven't had a ton of dishes from this restaurant, only had a couple. That being said, their panang curry is the best I've had anywhere. I've tried it at other places and it doesn't compare. Portion sizes aren't huge, like most Thai restaurants, but the food I have had is good.

I've always wanted to try this place, but it's a take place and I live about 12 miles or so away, so it isn't really convenient to me. But out foraging for food around 8PM on a Sunday evening and I was in the area and thought it would be the best chance I'd get since traffic was minimal and my food would stay warm. Stopped in and ordered tod mun and my usual chicken pad thai. The tod mun order included four fairly large patties and the usual hot and sweet sauce with cucumber slices. It was good, lots of flavor, but each piece had some signs of fryer grease on them. A little bit of blotting with a clean paper towel and I'd never have known. As for the chicken pad thai. It was of the thin noodle type (similar to angel hair pasta), I like medium noodles myself. The chicken was good and there was enough of it, they cooked it medium spicy as I had asked them as well. But it was kind of dry to me - I prefer a saucier variety - this was not like that. Really deserves 3.5 stars, but rounded down as it's really closer to average than anything else. Might go back if the traffic is slow again.

Very bad. First off, the food tasted bad. Secondly, I am particular about my vegetarian food. This is my first time here and I specifically asked for no mushrooms and no fish sauce/oil as I am very specific about these two.i asked for it to spicy. I even paid a tip for the restaurant that doesn't have any sit-in service just to be careful. And the only mistake was I was pretty late closer to the closing of the restaurant. The folks seemed to have have specifically messed up the food. I am visitor to Chicago area on a weekly basis, and these guys just lost my continuing business. And I hope my experience will be a premonition for many others to come. They put mushrooms and they didn't make it spicy. I am not sure anymore if they violated the third requirement also. Being vegetarian is not just a health choice but also a religious one. I am so close to suing these guys that they run out of business for violating my food requirements. The next best thing is to post the true reviews about them everywhere I can think of.

Polar vortex, day... 1 million. We needed food delivered. We decided on Simply Thai. I did feel really bad about asking them to deliver in the snow conditions, but they were very nice on the phone and didn't flinch when I asked to place an order. The guy who came to our door was so nice and sweet. I thanked him a million times for delivering food to us in the snow storm. He was genuinely nice. (I did tip generously and he seemed very appreciative). Delivery service - easy, nice, and QUICK! Food came in about 30 minutes. The food... The crab talay so delicious. Creamy, fresh, just crispy enough. Like a mini compact crab-rangoon, but better! Chicken Pad Se-Ew -- perfect. Beef Red Curry -- so flavorful. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. I was so thankful for food delivery in the snow, and this place definitely came through. Great service, speedy delivery, and wonderful food.

This is our go-to place for carry out Thai food. Crab Rangoon, Pad See Ew and Pad Thai are our staple items. I've been ordering from them for years, and it never fails. They are not that cheap, but the quality of food makes up for the higher prices. This is only a carry out or delivery place. No tables to eat there, although they have a little waiting area so you can hang and wait for your meal in comfort.

It's hard to find thai food(good* thai food) in the North Shore. I'd pass by this place now and then, but I never thought of giving it a try. Glad I did because it looks completely different than I'd thought it'd look on the inside! Clean, cute, and quick service. More expensive than other thai restaurants, but their portions are pretty big, so I guess it balances out. I got the pad thai w/shrimp and it came out be around $11. T'was yummy :) I'll be back for the pad see eiw later this week. Wee!

This place absolutely sucks. I realize we are in the North Shore, but that is no excuse. The food is cooked very poorly and the price is outrageous for the quality. Lad Na - The noodles were extremely soggy. What do I mean by that? Well, they tasted like well overcooked noodles. The sauce is supposed to be creamy, not water. The second I took a glance of the crappy water sauce, I knew that this place either had failed or is some type of innovator. Definitely not innovative, unfortunately. The flavor was very bland to the point where I would have much rather eaten microwave noodles. I felt ripped off big time. Papaya Salad - Way too much lime. Didn't know you could screw up a salad. Wonton Soup - Very Bland My girlfriend and I gave this place a try twice, since I am a big believer in giving restaurants two chances. I realize that sometimes we have off days, but no, both times we ordered a bunch of food, results? The Bill - Hefty The Food - Wimpy. The people who gave this place a good review, no offense to them, obviously do not know the difference between good Thai food. Save the extra money you'd spend coming here, put it towards gas and go to a place worthwhile.

I had a horrible experience and would never go back. Long time customer who enjoyed their pad tai on a regular basis. Went in one day after ordering 2 pad tai's with extra peanut sauce to find that after inspection of the bag, they didn't include the extra peanut sauce. I take a quick look at the ticket and notice in fact the ticket says circled really big "extra peanut sauce". The owner or manager not sure comes out and says he was sorry but he thought it said extra peanuts. I say no problem can I get the sauce please. He goes in the back and brings out 2 little cups of sauce and asks for 3 more dollars. Me, in customer service would have after realizing I sent someone home with the incorrect order just simply give the customer the extra sauce, stood his ground and charged the $3. I politely stated than you but I would not be returning. This is were it got weird. The guy followed me outside in the parking lot. Started yelling at me and blocking me from getting in the car. Asking why I wouldn't come back and what he did wrong. Yelling continued as i said nicely. I am sorry sir but the customer service experience isn't something I appreciated. He then starts swearing at me calling me multiple swear words like a crazy person in the parking lot. Not responding and fearing for my life I pull out and lock the doors. Hoping he wasn't planning on throwing anything at me. If I could make a police report I would. And further would tell anyone thinking of going to this place that althought the food may be ok, the staff is nutz!!!

NOTE: This location is takeout/delivery only. This joint is almost five miles from my office, but, as I dislike both Thai options in Glenview, I decided to give these guys a chance on a day when I was maddeningly craving Thai and did not have time to sit down somewhere anyway. The pad thai contained a good balance of ingredients--sprouts, noodles, peanuts, etc all in good proportion. However, the noodles were somewhat dry and the flavor was not quite forceful enough. Still, an overall B or B+. The spring rolls were the same soulless but marginally satisfying version that you can get at EVERY other Thai restaurant on earth. Seriously, can't ANYONE distinguish themselves with this item? On my second visit, I tried the coconut calamari, which predictably did not survive the drive back without losing their crisp, despite the holes that they cleverly poked in the styrafoam container. But, they tasted great, I loved the accompanying sauce, and the big, thick pieces of calamari (the size of onion rings) were a pleasant surprise. Wasabi shumai...where's the wasabi flavor? The shrimp was plump and perfectly cooked, but the dumpling itself was mushy and there was hardly any flavor to it. Ditto the basil fried rice--big chunks of chicken but miniscule basil, very few vegetables, and anemic flavor. The food is decent quality, but they will need to add some more zing to have any hope of luring me up to Pfingsten and Dundee again.

We called for delivery and gave a cc#, but as it was taking too long we called back and asked if we can pick it up. They said that we could. I went to pick it up and was told to wait 3 minutes. I waited 20. When I finally got the food they asked me to pay. I asked if they hadn't already charged my friend's card and the guy assured me that they hadn't. So I paid. You probably gathered where this story is going....they charged both cards. Here's where it gets really good. I called and asked what information they need from me. The guy said just the cc#. I called my friend, got the number and called back. Of course he also wanted the expiration date, which I did not have. So I asked if he can just look it up by the #, to which he said that he doesn't have the numbers saved. Naturally, I asked how he was going to find the transaction. After all, he already lied to me before, so a little reassurance would be nice. Instead I got attitude. He said, "I know what I'm doing." I said, "If you knew what you were doing, why did you charge me twice?" "He said, if you're so smart, why don't you do it?" WHAT?!?! DO WHAT? Anyway, I said, "You charged me twice and now you're giving me attitude?!" And, believe it or not, he said "F U" and hung up the phone. I've never in my life encountered such "service." But I also wanted my money back, so I called my friend again, got the expiration date and called back. I said, "I have the expiration date." He said, "You have to apologize to me first!" and hung up again. Now I'm just letting my credit card deal with a stopped payment. DON'T EAT HERE!

Another thing I hated about leaving Chicago, great Thai food in Lake County is hard to find :( To me, THIS place is as good as it gets! It's close to work, so I often pick it up for lunch. I also love picking some up to bring home for dinner. I only wish they were bigger and weren't carry out only!

Gross. That about sums it up. We ordered for 8 people. So we saw a variety of dishes. Any tofu dishes were totally gross. Basically: they DO NOT know how to cook tofu at all. One entree had a fruit fly still breathing inside the container. While they did come back and replace it, they did not offer a refund on the entree at all. Otherwise, any dishes without tofu or a fruit fly were mediocre at best. Definitely not going back.

Being originally from Brooklyn and later Chicago, I miss having so many Thai and Asian restaurants around every corner. I was happy to find Simply Thai! They have great, fresh Thai food that isn't over Americanized or bland. (Unlike other places in the suburbs.) I love the Basil Fried Rice and Red Curry. Also, some of the best Taro Custard ever! Every time we go, the staff is super friendly and fast. My only wish is that they were a bit more consistent with the food. For instance, one week, my Basil fried rice was super flavorful, and the next week, there was almost no basil and maybe half the salt. Also with the Taro Custard, it's usually smooth, creamy, and super awesome coconut flavor. Last time I had it, it had a really odd, bitter taste. Possibly it was in a metal pan in their fridge too long. Anytime I order something with shrimp, I notice the portion is smaller than if I get it with chicken or beef. These things aren't a huge deal to me though, so I will be back!

There are some pros and cons about this particular restaurant. Pro- Is that the food is GREAT! Con- is the price and quantity that you get. Also, 9/10 times your order will be incorrect. I have been here twice and my orders were incorrect both times and the food was good. The Price was Bad!

took 1 1/2 hours for delivery. unacceptable. no matter how good it is. i asked him one it took so long and he told me it was because i ordered it on grub hub. do not accept grubhub if you cannot accommodate it.

So bad. The pad thai AND the pad se ew were both extremely salty- gross. Just really a sad excuse for food that you pay for. We were a little surprised at their prices-- high-- but we were desperate because it was Sunday night and our regular place was closed (that place is in Deerbrook Mall, and it's the best we have found up here). We have actually ordered from here twice (once before we knew better, and now two years later out of desperation). Never again. I'll just make a frozen pizza or a sandwich next time. Gross!

Carryout only. GREAT lunch menu (called "Exclusive Lunch") - high quality meats, expertly cooked, great flavorings, and reasonable prices. Drunken Noodle is also very good, albeit, a little greasy. If I was only rating the lunch menu and the Drunken Noodle dish, I'd give this place 5 stars. The owner is also very personable and accommodating.

My absolute favorite Thai place, I've had all the traditional dishes from pad thai, lad nar, and pad woon sen. They never seem to disappoint, and I love that when you ask for a a 4-5 star spicy, you will get it. The only thing I wish they offered is the ability to dine-in, all orders are take-out, its a small spot, and the staff is friendly.

Favorite Thai place in the Northbrook/Glenview area. I love the Drunken Noodles and Red Curry and my wife loves the Pad Thai. Ingredients are always fresh and light. Portions are fine unless you're one of those pigs who complains if you don't get a metric ton of food. Owners are super friendly. Only drawback is they close a little early, in which case we head over to Montira Thai in The Glen. We used to do Penny's in Northfield, but sadly they don't compare to the Penny's we loved in Wrigleyville. Give Simply Thai a try, you might not rate it 5 stars, but you won't be disappointed.

Yum yum! I came here for some lunch and walked into a pleasant little oasis of Thai food. The restaurant has no tables, just a seating area for waiting so of course you gotta get it to go but that's ok. Loved the atmosphere of greenery and freshness. I ordered the Pad Woon Sen and it was so yummy! The tofu was soft and not bland. The noodles were so delicious I didn't really need anything else in the dish, but of course it came with a variety of veggies (carrots, onions, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli) that made it even better. I can't wait to try their curries and other foods.

Okay, they earned 5 stars for sure. I got Mussamun with noodles (noodles were side/extra)....and it was fantastic. I do think the prices are slightly high, but absolutely worth it. They do make good quality Thai food. Also, they prepare their food so fast it's not even funny. The staff are polite, and the food is worth the travel to go pick up. Literally less than 20mins from order to pickup. They've done consistently well, and are now picking up corporate catering, ordering online, and delivery. This has got to be my favorite Thai place in Northbrook, no question about it.

Highly disappointed. Not only was their food bad, their professionalism at its worst. Last time we ordered pad Thai it was so spicy, dry and there was no veggies or tofu even though we had asked for mild spicy and tofu. This was the 2nd time they did this so I called them to ask and the guy started kind of yelling at me. He irritated me to the maximum. I had no intention of yelling but he made me so angry, the way he spoke was ridiculous. If there s anything wrong with the food first of all be a man and accept it. Blaming the customer will help the business in no way.

a quarter inch layer of grease on top of the thom kha soup. basil duck should have been called salty duck. mixed in the rice to make it barely palatable. pad thai was good however. I am fairly confident that I can tell the difference between grease/oil and coconut milk. Unless of course they are using reddish-orange coconut milk. LOL

.......... We had it delivered to our house and i'm not sure if it was just a busy night or it usually takes that long. It took 2 hours to have something delivered. The food was alright. I got Shrimp Pad Thai (the shrimp were HUGE and had tails cut off, which was nice), and Panang Curry. It was alright. The curry came luke warm...... Meh.

Simply Thai is simply good. After my disappointment with Thai Thai last week, I figured I owed it to myself to scratch that Thai noodle itch and I was hoping Simply Thai would be my itch-scratcher today. These guys really make a good Pad See-ew. That's as basic Thai as it gets (says this Mexican boy) and, well, I'm a little excited about what the future holds. It is worth noting that this place is carry-out and delivery only. I'll be back Simply Thai... I'll be back.

Very clean and small, this is take out or delivery only! The owner is very nice and seems to have a lot of regulars! My food was ready in a flash I just barley had sat down crazy! The dumplings were just OK that's the only reason this place lost a star! The Pad Thai noodles were really good I choose a 4 on the scale of 1 to 5 and it was pretty good I should have done the 5 but I didn't want to not enjoy my food so I played it safe!

I end up here about once a week. Take out only, as there is no seating other than for waiting. Orders are made quickly so you hardly mind waiting. Owner is friendly and takes great concern to get dishes just right with consistency. Only complaint I have is that the Beef Pad Se-ew is so good that I have a hard time trying anything else on the menu! They'll even adjust the spicyness to your tastes using a 1-5 star system. I did try the garlic chicken lunch special once and it had great flavor too.

Simply Thai was simply fustrating. Got my order completely wrong. Had very specific instructions. Shrimp Pad Thai. 5 for spicy (the hottest). Got chicken instead. Spicy? Nope. I got the equlivant of someone adding ground black pepper. Flavor wise, it was a bit weak. Cabbage instead of bean sprouts? ....noooooo! Utensils in my takeout? Nope. Location is at a busy intersection with a really narrow entrance that could easily be missed. Simply overrated.

3 stars: Good for delivery, decent Thai food. For Girls Night In on Memorial Day, we wanted to order delivery and Simply Thai was the 4th place we tried calling, all the other places were closed. I'm glad that was the case, otherwise I wouldn't have tried this place. We ordered a couple noodle dishes, a curry, and a duck dish - all were pretty good, I had no complaints. The delivery charge was reasonable, $4 since I was on the outskirts, and the price for entrees average around $10-11. I'd order from Simply Thai again, especially since delivery for non-pizza foods is harder to come by in the suburbs.

A simple take-out Thai place, I enjoyed my pad thai as well as the crab rangoon from here. Nothing amazing but considering the lack of options in the area, it's decent Thai food. The food is cooked quickly, and the staff is polite. Stickly a to-go place, they have a couple seats and some old magazines for you to browse as you wait for your food.

This place is a walk from work for me so I've ordered from them a few times now. They do deliver (though not sure what the minimum order has to be). I really have only had their combo fried rice, which is delicious and a huge portion! I wish they had seating though, as it would be nice to get out of the office to enjoy their food, but I'll take delivery too :)

So, I am still on my quest to find my fave Thai Place. I moved from Birmingham almost 2 years ago and I have yet to find a spot that I love as much as I love Surin West. That being said I am trying hard. Simply Thai was just that..Simple. I say that in a positive way. Its a carry out only, its quick, and the staff was nice. There was nothing outstanding about the place but I would definitely order from here again.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!! I placed a lunch order, and it was delivered incorrectly. I called and and explained what happened and the delivery driver stated that I made him wait 10 minutes, which was incorrect it was 3 minutes from the time I got the email stating my food arrived to the time I went to meet the driver to sign the CC receipt. By the time I got to the receptionist desk in my office I could see the driver leaving, so I wasn't able to sign the CC receipt for him. So I when I called and explained that to him as well, then he stated (loudly)that he is not a liar and he knows how long it was, and what did I want to do about my order. I asked him why he was raising his voice, and I explained that I wanted my correct order, he went on to say (calmer) that they are very busy and he doesn't have time to bring anything back. I asked was I just supposed to take whatever they decide to give me? The delivery driver stated he couldn't bring the order back. I said fine, please come back and get the entire order and I would like my money back. The driver yelled, that I could kiss the order goodbye and to never order from there again and hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a manager, I was told he wasn't there and to call back in 2 hours. I called back, and spoke to "Alex" who said he was the manager. "Alex" when asked for his name said that was beside the point, and he would have to speak to his driver to get his side of the story, and hung up in my face. I called back, and he stated he was done talking to me, I explained that they get a lot of business from my company and I couldn't believe I was being treated so poorly, "Alex" seemed completely uninterested, and unapologetic about the whole situation, and stated that he will refund my money and hung up, he never asked for a card number, phone number, or any of my identifying information. I filed a complaint with the BBB since I think that's probably the only way I will get my money back. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!

This place was pretty good. I ordered their Basil Fried Rice, Thai Iced Tea, and Coconut Calamari. Both my husband and I enjoyed the calamari a lot. The basil fried rice was alright. It was a little on salty side but still satisfying. I have tried thai iced tea from many restaurants. Some make it too bitter for my taste. For me I like it a little more on the creamy side. This one was kinda in the middle. I ordered delivery thru Grubhub and they're quite accurate on the time the order will arrive. They arrived a little earlier.

This place is absolutely amazing! I heard good things so I had to check it out and it's all true. Im so picky with my food too, I ordered Pad Thai with tofu. One thing though..wish it was a tiny bit bigger menu even just a couple things because I love Thai food but I am picky so it's harder to find something, but thats just me. How They Got 5 Stars: a) when i first walked in the guy/manager/owner was the friendliest person I've had the pleasure of picking up food from and talking to while waiting for my food for all of 60seconds. He asked me how I heard of them, hes glad I came in etc. With a giant SMILE on his face, now where do you ever see genuinely nice people now a days? NO WHERE b) Food was great c) They deliver d) the cocaine selling BBQ joint is gone now

Not a big fan of this place. I've been there handful times since opening and tried many different food here. I love Thai food, I love noodles, but this place didn't have any great tasting noodles. Lots of blend taste or salty, spicy ones not spicy enough and sweet ones aren't sweet enough. Probably won't visit here any more (actually haven't been here almost 5 months...) unless i hear some dramatic differences. I'm surprised this place have good reviews here.

Key Yelp: Excellent, fresh, high quality Thai take-out in the Thai food waste-land of the North Shore. Review- Four stars based on what this is: Thai take-out, but executed exquisitely well and with care. Absolutely spotless storefront that resembles a waiting room at a spa as opposed to a take-out place. Hard wood floors, flat screen TV, furniture, and the restaurant logo elegantly painted on the walls all adorn the space making one happy to hang out while the food is rapidly prepared with an on-site order. The restaurant is owned by a husband and wife couple who both cook, greet and take orders. The menu is extensive, albeit not particularly novel. However, there are plenty of choices, organized exceptionally well, including duck; not commonly found in take-out Thai places around these parts. I sampled ton mun (fish cakes), spring roll, pan seared dumplings and tofu pad Thai. All were delicious and seasoned well. This is clearly THAI food cooked by Thai people - not glorified Chinese food. A fun, added bonus are fresh smoothies and teas, with tapioca pearls added to make a bubble tea or smoothie if desired. The owners suggested a mango-lychee combo and it was excellent. Pricing was reasonable, but not cheap. Take out packaging was done carefully and was very pleasing to the eye. For anyone in Northbrook, Deerfield, Glencoe, Highland Park, Northfield or even Glenview in search of fresh Thai take-out created by lovely, warm people in a fabulous take-out atmosphere (who knew?)...Simply Thai is Simply Perfect.

They did a lousy job of packing our food. When i was trying to take it home from my car, the plastic bag broke and everything fell on the ground. They were too cheap to use a better bag. Even the employees at Target/Jewel know how to double bag! Anyway, i called and let them know what happened. The lady on the phone tried to give me a measly %15 discount. I told her we had to go out and buy food again because they were closed so she should give us credit for at least the entree items. She said she will talk to the manager.

Northbrook was in dire need of some damn good Thai food and Simply Thai delivers! Not only is the staff friendly, service is quick. Consistantly good like others have noted. This place also solidified my love of Panang Tofu (panang is the same as red curry, the only difference is the addition of kafir leaves). I am a curry lover to the umpteenth degree. For veggies like myself (or not even veggies), I highly recommend this dish. Order it with brown rice and it's a real treat. I also recently discovered the best appetizer (besides the fresh spring rolls)-- SILKY PRAWNS. They are friggin amazing. Now, I am one of those people who definitely snacks on uncooked ramen noodles...this dish is a delight. They wrap prawns in egg noodles (similar to ramen) to give it a delectable crunch. It comes with a nice, sweet and tangy dipping sauce to make your taste buds dance in delight. The tempura and pad thai is also pretty fly. The only thing I was ever disappointed with was the yellow curry rice. It was seriously lacking pizzzang. I highly recommend this place. I recently moved to the SF bay area (where there is no shortage of thai places) and upon visiting home for the holidays, I still couldn't stay away from simply thai. They even beat a lot of the places out here!

The Pad Thai here was AMAZING. I frequently dine at more urban, Chicago-based Thai restaurants such as Cozy Noodle andTaste of Asia, and didn't know if a suburban Thai place would compare - I was wrong! The Pad Thai here was the perfect balance of creamy peanuts and lime juice. The chicken was well-cooked. I also got the crab rangoon app...a little different that what I've had in the past at other places (this cream cheese seemed more "whipped" than others) but it was still very delicious! I will definitely go back here for lunch or dinner.

This is the worst restaurant I think I have ever been too. They completely messed up our take out order & gave us 2 shrimp on the one dish they got right. When I went back to get the correct order the owner, yes the owner started yelling at us & using profanity. I was with my 13yr old & was shocked. He said that he didn't make a mistake even though we had a record of it as we placed the order online. Another customer & her daughter were standing there & she asked the owner to stop yelling. Never go to this place. We never got the right order & vowed never to go back. Let him go out of business there are plenty of nice restaurants who appreciate our business but this is not one of them.

Simply Thai is one of the better Thai food restaurants in the suburbs. Their food and their service is great and their prices are reasonable. I had an order of the Crab Talay , Chicken Pad Se-Ew and Beef Drunken Noodle. The Crab Talay was out of this world, it was crispy without being greasy and had a great texture to it. The Chicken Pad Se-Ew and Beef Drunken Noodle were great as well. We ordered both dishes as hot as they come [spice level 5] and they definitely delivered on the spiciness level. Bottom line: If you are looking for a fast service, a friendly atmosphere and good food Simply Thai is one of the better places to go in the burbs.

The best Thai food on the North Shore (take out/delivery) - fast service and generous portions too. We particularly like the Panang Sauce Curry, Tilapia Lover's Special and Pad Woon Sen stir fried noodles with tofu. Our favorite desserts are mango on sticky rice and taro custard. They offer fast delivery too. Simply Thai is simply delicious.

I order delivery from Simply Thai, probably once a week. They are so fast! The food is so good too. Northbrook doesn't have much going on, but Simpy Thai is a great restaurant in Northbrook. The people that work there are very friendly and so are their delivery guys! They deliver very fast too, I always get my food within 15-25 minutes whether we order a small order or a huge one. I recommend trying their Drunken Noodle dish and my fave pad see-ew (I'm not sure if that is how you spell it) but it's all delicious.

I'm surprised a Thai carry out restaurant have a really high quality of food, got their Tom Yum soup, flavor a little too strong but it's OK, maybe next time need to try their another Tom Yum soup with coconut milk one, appetizers were good, chicken satay is tasty, always taste so good when you dip in their peanuts sauce. I split the entree with my boyfriend, we got scallop basil, it was a jumbo size of scallop and eggplant just perfectly fired. Simply Thai rocks!

It's about time! Northbrook was in desperate need of a good thai place and this is it! The food is absolutely wonderful and is consistently good--I think I've had just about everything on the menu, but the favorites that stand out are the green curry fried rice, basil beef, pad thai, red curry- so very yummy and the staff is very polite. They've also started distributing coupons, so now I spend even more of my $$ there- I will be leaving in about 10 minutes to get my order for tonight's dinner...yum yum!

This is the best Thai delivery in the area. There is no dine in area, just carry out or delivery, because of this they have really optimized packaging and recipes for delivery. You can tell from the food, the customer service on the phone, and even the website, the people here are quite committed to putting out great food. The lunch special is great tasting even if it is a bit heavy on the vegetables and light on meat. I'm a big wuss and they accomodated me by lower the heat content when I asked for it. A friend of mine had the Chicken Pad Se-Ew and was raving about it all over the office. The menu is quite large and has a lot of options. We will definately try to keep this place in business. Portion size was good and the rice well cooked. Packaging was excellent for take out. Delivery was a bit faster than promised, which is good.

OK, so I've tried this place more than several times now and I have to "up" my review. Here are the dishes that have been consistently good: crab rangoon, panang curry, basil fried rice, and pad thai. The crab rangoon is crispy without being greasy and the creamy filling has just the right amount of richness. What made the difference for me is ordering the dishes spicy. I usually order a "level 3" and it's just the right amount of kick for each dish. I still think the Tom Yum soup is too sweet for my taste and I'm still not a fan of their Pad See Eiw or Pad Kee Mao. However, they have outstanding Panang curry. And their basil fried rice is very flavorful.

I have to say, this is a good thai place around town, unless you decide to drive far. Love their curries, and fried rice. Beside these, all the food taste the same. The people are pretty nice too. I took one star off, because the price is slightly pricey. Take a dollar off, and I raise the start to a four.

My first time ordering take out here and I was pretty impressed. I started with the Tom Yum soup the shrimp and mushrooms were good the soup was a little sour but good overall. I tried a couple of appetizers first the pot stickers they were average and the Satay which was delicious. For the entree I had the scallop basil I really like this dish it came with several large scallops and they were very good. The vegetables were good and the rice was cooked properly. I really enjoyed the food not too many places in the area that serves good Thai food. One of the better carry out restaurants in all of Northbrook they are in my rotation. They are very friendly when you come in and I really like the waiting area. They have it nicely decorated with comfortable couches and nice decor. It does not look like a typical carry out place however this is Northbrook and this restaurant fits in just perfect great place.

Paid $12 for Duck noodles. I was expecting something a bit less literal; I received a ton of dry noodles with a sprinkling of duck meat (and a lot of skin). No sauce, barely any veggies. It didn't taste awful, it was just... not worth the money.
(2)Zakaria A.

Either way this place has definitely earned a place back with me and i will visit again to try something new, maybe even the crab rangoon to see if those have improved.

best thai. Hands down. Ask for bean sprouts. Always fresh. Place rocks

Too bad.
(1)Matt D.

(3)Jeff A.

(2)Abhay M.
(1)Krissy T.
(1)Olga T.
Lovely little place owned by a friendly family with delicious thai food. And cooked very quickly! I was going for Pad Thai so many times, and then started discovering other wonderful dishes, and still have a way to go to try everything! I order here at least once a week.
(4)Greg R.
(4)Lefai K.

(4)Jessica N.

(3)Ali C.
This is a great speedy take out Thai food place. The pad siew was very good, as was the mussamun. They deliver as well. Service prompt and pleasant.
(3)Jay S.
Average Thai at an average price. Ordered the Tom Kha soup and the Mussamun curry with chicken. Both were fine, but nothing special. Not sure if I will go back, will try some other Thai places in Northbrook and see how,it compares.
(3)Sanaa K.
Owner was rude when I called into see where my delivery order was and he hung on me. Would never go back here because of the rude service.
(1)Kayo O.
(5)mat s.
(2)Steve N.

(1)Joe L.
Was very disappointed. The lard na had no taste what so ever. The pad tai was a litter better. I'll pass next time.

(5)Mike L.
Food is good. Service is very friendly. We usually go to stir crazy, but this is on my way home... Portions are decent. Doesn't seem like they skimp out on the main ingredients. Ordered carry out twice and taste was consistent.
(4)Derek C.
(4)Donny N.
(1)Josan K.
Great Pad Se-Ew. Done.
(5)Tracy O.
(4)Rob W.
(3)Emily S.
I absolutely love this place! If your looking to add a little flavor to your dinner, this is the place to go. The service is friendly and the orders are usually on time. Their curries and pad Thai are delicious. This is a must stop spot for anyone craving Thai.
(4)Srihari V.

(5)Diana D.
(4)Zo O.
Wee!
(4)Henry K.

(1)david s.
Alex from Simply Thai responded to my first review, "We may be cheap but we're not stupid" or thereabouts. So, I'm deducting one star from my original review for such an inane response.
(1)David R.

So good and so friendly. The pad thai is delicious!

(1)Marianne C.
(5)Stephanie B.

(4)Hannah K.
There are some pros and cons about this particular restaurant. Pro- Is that the food is GREAT! Con- is the price and quantity that you get. Also, 9/10 times your order will be incorrect. I have been here twice and my orders were incorrect both times and the food was good. The Price was Bad!
(3)Alexander L.
took 1 1/2 hours for delivery. unacceptable. no matter how good it is. i asked him one it took so long and he told me it was because i ordered it on grub hub. do not accept grubhub if you cannot accommodate it.
(1)Maureen M.
Gross!
(1)Unbiased R.
(4)B R Hungry X.
(4)Brian L.
(5)Miinkay Y.
(5)Matt R.
(5)Jay S.

This is a cute little take out place. It's so yummy. Very quick.

(3)Tim T.
