I have been here for both my husband's birthday and my birthday and I have never been disappointed. First, the service is always top notch. They check on your frequently but are not obtrusive and they are honest in the recommendations. As far as the steaks, this is hands down the best steak I have ever had in my life! It is cooked on a 400 degree plate with butter. They know how to make a medium rare properly which is hard to find. So amazing!! They also have the best sweet potato casserole, it almost like a desert. Speaking of desert, they have an amazing chocolate trio dessert or you can't go wrong with the chocolate moose cheesecake which is whipped and fantastic. I can't recommend Ruth's Chris enough. It is great for a special occasion and depending on how large your appetite is, you could easily split a steak and get more sides.

Regardless of Ruth's being a chain steakhouse, I always enjoy it. Odd location, attentive service. Reasonable prices, delicious !

The service here was immaculate and the food was fantastic. There are pretty affordable specials that they have for dinner that are great. Steaks come out to you sizzling and buttery. A really nice place for a nice surf 'n turf dinner. Deserts are huge! Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. I had a great experience.

Ruth's Chris has wonderful food, but what like about it is the fact that it feels really comfortable inside.Cozy.

I would have to say they definitely have some amazing food at this place. However, I'm not sure if it's worth all the money. I probably wouldn't have gone if i knew ahead of time how pricey this place was . I had their petite filet which was cooked perfectly and was probably one of the best I've ever had. Just be careful of their really, really, REALLY hot plates. (My dad accidentally touched his and got a minor burn on his finger.) Also, if you want water, make sure you specify tap or bottled. They didn't give us an option so we thought they didn't serve tap water. Luckily we cleared things up with our waiter because otherwise, we would've had to pay almost $20 for just water! I might go again, but it would have to be for a pretty special occasion...

Northbrook location is better than South Barrington. The interior is comfy and cozy. Service is great even when crowded. Food served with impeciable timing, hot, fresh, high quality. Everything down to the butter tastes better than "regular food". Each time I eat here I question the quality of food I've eaten at other restaurants. Although each time I get the bill I'm reminded of why the food is so good.

I was lucky enough to be taken here a few times by my in-laws. I have always ordered the petite filet. It is always excellent quality and cooked perfectly. Makes it hard to try other restaurants for special occasions... but Ruth's Chris is a known quantity and there's some peace to be had knowing what you're in for: a great piece of beef prepared exactly how you like it (and I always, ALWAYS have my order screwed up one way or another at most restaurants). Period.

The service was very good, absolutely no problems there. HOWEVER, the "famously" cooked-in-butter steak? Not so much. Pretty bland. I have never not finished a filet at a steakhouse before. Also, most of the sides we ordered were okay, but the potatoes lyonnaise were a little too crisp or something. Dessert was good.

Went out with a couple friends for dinner. This was my first time there and wow was the food great. From start to finsh the service was top level along with the food. Little pricey ,but you have to expect that from a top level steak place. Great place for going out on a date.

Perfect succulent steak! I have been to this place countless times and I have never had an issue with anything. If you haven't been here, step away from your computer... head over to Ruth Chris, join the sensation, and order a T-Bone son!

Sizzling steak on a hot plate that cooked perfectly to order! One of the tastiest steaks I've had this year. Service was top notch. Will be back!

I love a good steak; I love butter; Walker Brothers, for example, has high quality butter; if you go to France, you can get many diufferent locally produced butters with distinctive flavor. The steaks here are large but not flavorful; cooking them in butter is a huckster move. Notice the clientele here; you will never see larger or noisier businessmen; presumably after a few drinks you may join the mood, but the "atmosphere" is anything but heavenly. The sides are large, but there's no panache; deserts offer nothing special. A must miss in the Steak World, it's probably under Outback.

Celebrated my folks' 50th wedding anniversary. Server Mark was terrific and the valet very patient. Menu and quality outstanding. Good for groups - wouldn't bring the kids.

Our party of (10) dined there last night (Sunday). What a wonderful experience. The wait staff was outstanding. The food was very good . The special three course menu was a wonderful surprise. We had intended to spend so much more for the meal but were very pleased with the special offer. We actually sat for three hours. What a great evening for such a good value. We will return. Thank you Ruth's Chris for making our celebration so great.

Coming here after our convention was always a tradition for the members of the committee. It was a way to celebrate a job well done and say "Thank goodness it's over for another year." Last year there were about fifteen of us at the table. (BTW, they never bat an eye at the prospect of seating a group that large, nor is the accommodation anything less than completely comfortable.) Because I got elected to figure out the bill, I had the dubious honor of paying the most ginormous tab any of us had ever seen. It was well over $1100, and you know what? It was worth every penny. I've said before that I'm not a big meat eater, but I will happily snarf down a filet at Ruth's Chris because it's as close to perfection as meat can be, and bathed in melted butter which might sound like overkill, but trust me, it works. The sides are enough for two or more as are the salads, and the mushrooms, and broiled tomatoes are so delicious they can almost make me weep with gratitude. The only thing I don't find really memorable are the desserts. They're not bad by any stretch, but they simply don't compare to the entrees and sides. They have an excellent cellar, and serve champagne by the glass, and even the elusive eiswein, which is something everyone should taste once in their lives. The flavor (and the price) are life changing experiences. Go prepared to drop a bundle, but also to have one of the most heavenly meals you can imagine.

I would come here again, the only bad experience was our annoying waiter. He forget we were there and then kept calling me "my friend". The food was good..

My mom has insisted on going to this steak house for the last two years for her birthday. I don't mind going to a steak house even though I don't eat meat and I've always been able to find something to eat at Ruth's Chris. The service is always excellent. They have a great wine selection. They are fancy and kid-friendly at the same time. My daughter is super picky and they always make her something special (buttered noodles - blech!) that is not on the kid's menu. I always order the spinach and mashed potatoes. My one complaint would be that the last time I was there in August, the spinach was a little too soggy. Oh, I can't do more stars b/c I'm not a meat-eater, so...

I've been here twice so far. I went with a group of 8 for Valentine's Day and a group of 10 with colleagues. Both times were mouth-watering delicious. I ordered the special both times which comes with a salad, filet, side and dessert medley. The steak comes to the table a little under-done because the plate continues to cook and keep the meat warm as you eat. (Be careful, it will burn you if you touch it) Eat from the edges and by the time you get to the middle, it will be cooked to perfection. I don't know what it is about their green beans, but they are my FAVORITE. I have also tried the au gratin and the lyonnaise potatoes; both of which are awesome choices, but the green beans are still #1 in my book. What I love about going with a small group is that they have two separate, private rooms that you can request. These work out well when you are with a boisterous group - especially ones that are drinking, lol. And while I loved the dessert I had both times, I want to try the warm apple crumb tart next time. A colleague of mine ordered it and it looked "to die for" and is definitely enough to share. And if you're looking for an extra special night, the Renaissance Hotel (attached to the restaurant) offers a special that comes with a gift certificate for the restaurant so it turns out to be a great deal.

So there is a good and a bad. I'll start with the bad. Our salad had a beetle crawling around in it. The place is very clean and it was probably latched to the lettuce or some of part of the fresh salad. If I was in the kitchen, it would be hard to spot, maybe they didn't clean it that well. But their service was amazing and both the waitress and manager came by to apologize and paid for my gf's meal. So they made up for their mistake by ensuring if she was okay and gave her a free meal. Now to the steaks, they were cooked to what I asked, medium-rare. And wow they were good. Next time, i would ask for less butter as it can get too oily and I felt like my arteries would clog. But it was one of the best steaks I had. I had the ribeye and gf had the filet. You can not go wrong with their steaks. Carrot cake was good as well. Overall, I loved the environment, their excellent customer service, and their food. I would rate it a 5 if it wasnt for the bug incident, but they made up for it.

Overall experience was good. We made a reservation and our table was waiting for us upon arrival. No waiting which is always nice. We were instantly greeted by our waitress who immediately proceeded to explain the hot plates and the way their steaks are presented. Water glasses were also instantly filled. I ordered the escargot appetizer which was okay but was overtly garlicy which over powered the escargot. Got the filet and creamed spinach for my main course. Overall, the steak was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and was tender and juicy. The hot plate makes for a very nice presentation of your food but seriously, don't touch the plate!! Steak of very good and creamed spinach was not bad, wish I had gotten something else as it was a bit heavy. Other people I was with got the salmon, which was excellent and had little sea scallops on it as well, and the petite filet and shrimp which the shrimp was reviewed to be pretty good. The brussel sprouts side dish was delicious with bacon in it. French onion soup was par at best. Overall, dinner was a bit pricey which costs one star since I wasn't sure if the dinner was quite worth the price tag. I still honestly prefer a filet at Wildfire however debate ensued over dinner between others in my party who preferred Ruth's Chris. Good food, good service, oh yeah, desert left something to be desired (cheese cake), so overall 4 star experience.

Went a couple of weeks ago with co-workers. The CEO was in town and treated nine of us to dinner. It was really great. I had made the reservation earlier in the week, and we were seated immediately. This was the second time at this location and it was as good as I remembered, if not better. I didn't have to worry about cost, so i at way more than i usually would have. We have about three different bottles at the table. Forgive me, I don't remember which ones. Now on the the food. Starters: I had the gumbo. Really good stuff. They plopped some good white rice in the middle and put it in font of me. Really good stuff. The bread is also really good. Entre: I had the petite filet and crab legs. OUTSTANDING! It was so good. The only criticism is that the legs were pre cracked and sliced in half. If anything, this just made it harder to get the meat out. And I do loves my crab meat! We had a couple of sides. The potatoes are great. I hear that the garlic spinach is to die for, but I haven't had it. I also hear that the Cowboy Ribeye is excellent. I think I may try that this weekend. Desert: So good! I had the Creme Brulee and Banana Cream Pie. A lot of pie. You should share it with someone. The service is outstanding and the food is excellent. I was here a couple of years ago with the family. One of the managers noticed that my little sister hadn't really touched her food. She asked if anything was wrong. Like most little kids, she shook her head no, and continued to pick at her food. She's just the type of kid that would never send food back. After some probing, the manager got my sister to come clean. She didn't like that particular cut of meat. The manager picked up the plate and returned with a brand new steak. My sister devoured that steak! She knew better what the little girl would eat that my sister did. Of course there was no charge to the new steak. HUGE round of applause to Ruth's Chris. Always on top of their game.

So I hate the suburbs but i love Ruth Chris, that originated in NOLA by the way. So my date and I traded off. She drove and I bought. But still we didn't feel like having to fight downtown saturday night traffic. So we headed out to the Northbrook location. Same great amazing sizzling butterey fattening stake. But the suburban weird twilighy zone atmosphere was just the brake us urban city folks needed on a cold winter night. Between the dressed up and bored house wives and their bad wool sweatered husbands, to the 300 pound rich fat dude and his shell shocked mail order bride who could not bare to look at him, let alone talk to him as he devored his food and then hers. But to top of the night, we had Hussein as our waiter! Hussein of the Ruth Chris Gold Star, from Corporate I might add! Yes Ten years of amazing service for Ruth Chris gets you a gold start, which he wore proudly. Hussein was the man, the mack, the legend. So if you wanna eat the best stake in a really trippy atmposphere, Ruth Chris in Northbrook. I also have to complement the place for not taking itself too serious. The downtown location is about every body playing big shot. This was a suburban dinning room. I even saw one teen wearing sweats.

This place is top-notch and they honestly have the best steaks in town. We always come here on special occasions and the service is flawless every single time. Always seated right away (with reservations) and each staff member walks around smiling, happy to serve you. Here are my favorites: Appetizers: Blackened Scallops Sizzling Blue Crab Cakes BBQ Shrimp Entrees: Fillet Petite Fillet (w/ or w/out shrimp) Fresh Lobster Ahi Tuna Stack (I actually did not enjoy eating this, but wanted to list it so you guys know. It's cooked rare but served on a sizzling plate, so essentially it is being cooked while in front of you. I'd never had ahi tuna served hot before, and I was disappointed but basically it was my fault because the menu describes it exactly. The lump crab meat it comes with was good though. In the future, if I order anything other than a steak, something is wrong with me.) Potato Sides: Mashed Sweet Potato Casserole Vegetable Sides: Broiled Tomatoes Desserts: Caramelized Banana Cream Pie (this is the one of the best desserts in the suburbs, I promise, I can eat a whole one by myself it's so good.) Warm Apple Crumb Tart

Meat 4 stars! Price? Sheesh, I left part of my arm there for payment and you still have to buy sides. But overall the place is warm feeling & their marbled steak is Awesome! I will definitely go again since my Company puts me up in the hotel.

Have only been here once and everytime I feel like going back I tend to go to another steakhouse that I know will be better. My experience at this particular location was hit and miss. Server was kind of rude and that really doesn't bother me much but it does when the steaks aren't up to par to places such as Gibson's, Morton's, etc. One of these days I'll come back (probably the one in downtown though) and I have a feeling it'll be better. Until then, I have to give this 3 stars for now.

I absolutely love this location and this restaurant!! I've never had a bad experience. Food is fantastic, service is great, drinks are phenomenal. I'm a huge fan. Their desserts are to die for so definitely save some room! I recommend: Appetizer - spicy lobster. Trust me on this... you won't want to share so get 1 order per person. It's phenomenal. Main - lobster tail Dessert - creme brulee

I've been here several times and this time was really off. We came out to celebrate my birthday. Lots of places to choose from, but we hadn't been here, so we decided to try it. This waitress was terrible. No service etiquette and all she wanted to do was turn the table. It was bad enough, that we simply said no thanks to desserts or after dinner drinks. Pretty bad experience. She rushed us through the first half of the meal until I made it clear that we should not be rushed. To start, I asked how their 'New Fashioned' compared to an a traditional 'Old Fashioned' and she couldn't say. Wouldn't ask others. Just steered me to the Old Fashioned so she wouldn't have to deal with it. The appetizers were ok. Their spicy lobster appetizer is heavily breaded. Really hides the lobster. Great flavor but I wouldn't recommend it again. The truth is the bad service really tainted the evening. Ruth Chris knows how to do steaks. They did not disappoint. They were made perfectly to temperature. The sides, including spinach and mashed potatoes were good, but a little too salty. We also ordered the Lyonnaise Potatoes. We even had a conversation with the waitress about them and she totally forgot to put them in. They didn't come out. We must have rubbed her wrong because she ruined the evening and experience. We didn't stiff the tip, but we should have. We are likely not returning. No manager presence or oversight at all.

I went here for my birthday and it was great! The steaks were amazing the wait staff was friendly. they even took a picture of me and my boyfriend with our complimentary desert and printed it out in a little paper Ruth's Chris frame. It was such a nice touch. I had the filet mignon and he has the t-bone and both were perfect. The Mac and cheese was also great. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

Came here for a birthday celebration paid $200 for our meal and immediately started feeling sick. As I was eating my stomach started hurting and I literally stayed sick from that food a whole day later. This was my first time at a ruth chris. It will be my last based on this experience.

My mom picked Ruth's Chris for her birthday dinner and I was glad to check out the Northbrook one vs. the one downtown because of a previous bad experience years ago (overdone steak and terrible service). The extra bonus for this location compared to downtown is free parking! We were a party of 8 adults and 2 kids. I was kinda nervous about bringing kids in but they had plastic kids cups with straws and a kids menu plus it was early (5pm). It turns out they were on their best behavior and the waitstaff were very kind to them. We skipped the appetizers and booze and went straight for the beef. Everyone had the Cowboy ribeye except one filet and one lamb chops. I wavered between ordering mine rare or medium rare because I've learned the hard way that it's better to err on the side of underdone. I figured they're pros here so I went medium rare. It came out absolutely perfect. The level of butter was spot on, not overwhelming like some previous reviews. It was absolutely delicious. I will say this, however: if you aren't a fan of salt, ask them to not salt your steak and/or omit the butter. My aunts aren't fans of salt and their steaks were too salty for them. Luckily the server very kindly took them back and returned with butter free steaks. TWO managers came to apologize for the salt levels and explained that the butter is salted and that's likely what pushed it over the edge for them. I personally am a fan of salt and didn't need to salt my steak at all so it was perfect for me. I wish I had thought to write down our servers name to give them specific praise but I was in steak euphoria and blew it. All in all, a perfect experience as far as I'm concerned.

I love a good steak. I've been to all the chain steakhouses (Morton's, Capital Grille, Sullivan's, Flemings, etc.) and I appreciate them all for their slightly different takes on preparation. Service, hands down, goes to Capital Grille in Rosemont (see my yelp review there). However, I've never encountered as many problems and poor service as I did on Valentine's Day 2014 at Ruth's Chris in Northbrook. After this experience, I have not gone back and I encourage others to go elsewhere, especially with Morton's right up the street on Skokie Boulevard. First, we made reservations for Valentine's Day evening. We arrived about 5 minutes early for our reservation. We weren't seated until over half an hour PAST our reservation time. Why bother making a reservation then? Second, our waitress was incredibly inattentive, unfriendly, unaccommodating, and slooow. She should have worked at Denny's, not Ruth's Chris. Anything I asked "no, we can't do that." Or if we asked her to tell us more about an item. "I'm not sure." Um, shouldn't you check with the kitchen or someone who knows? Then she would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time. So it took us literally an hour just get beverages and order. Third, I got dishes that were dirty. They gave us empty appetizer plates for the bread. Mine was crusted over with leftover food and sauce. After waiting 15 minutes, finally got to tell our crappy waitress and she changes it out. No apology, nothing. She actually looked annoyed that she had to go change my plate...like she's seen customers get dirty crusty dishes a million times and it's no big deal. Fourth, I got a half-eaten shrimp in my meal. There was literally half a shrimp on top of my plate. The kitchen staff, the food runner, and the waitress should have all seen it. But no one cared. Serve this customer a half-eaten shrimp. The manager would later tell me that it probably wasn't eaten, but a bad peeling/deveining job that caused half of it to be thrown away. Um, let's assume that was true - how is serving a half mutilated shrimp at a high-end restaurant any better??? One steak in the party was also so severely overdone that it was inedible. But because at this point, it had taken 2 hours just to get our food, we wanted to be done and leave. Fifth, we were doing the prix fixe option and the dessert contained something I am allergic to. I asked if we can substitute it for something else. The answer is no. I can either have the stated dessert or I can forgo dessert altogether but still pay the full prix fixe amount. No substitutions allowed. I asked to see a manager and they "allowed" me to substitute. Gee, thanks for not sending me to the hospital. All in all, I thought I was eating at Denny's with the dirty dishes, badly prepared food, poor service...until I got the bill. Charged full price for everything. There are so many other steakhouses around, it is not worth going to this one.

Having been awarded the "Meathead" badge by Yelp for checking in at The Capital Grille ( yelp.com/biz/the-capital… ), Palm Restaurant ( yelp.com/biz/palm-restau… ) in Las Vegas, as well as Ruth's Chris Steak House near Chicago, I think it's only appropriate that I also write a review on RC Steak House. My 6 oz Petite Filet was cooked perfectly: medium rare and it was pink and juicy inside and seared brown outside. The meat itself tasted good without needing a lot of butter, though I didn't really have any choice as they did cook it in what appeared to be a lot of butter. No matter, I finished the entire piece of meat as I was starving! I also liked the side house salad that contained lots of fresh arugula and some halved cherry tomatoes, both of which happened to be my favorite salad ingredients. My coworker loved his broccoli cooked with lots of melted cheese. I still like to have my grass fed beef when and where I can get it. But this steak house will do when I am on a business trip on the road.

I came here for my boyfriend's and his mother's birthday and it was awful. I been here before and this experience was totally different. The waiter we had did not know his etiquettes. He did not know his wine. We ask him to describe it but he just repeated whatever we said and said its very good. If you did not know your wine you could of brought someone that would. I never ever had a waiter leaned all over me. I literally had to back away, personal space. I think he was just to lazy to walk around me. He did it a few times then I asked his not to and he gave me a look that I was crazy. Not only the services sucked the food wasn't the best either. I am one of those freaks that like their steak well done and they didn't do that right.... I never had an issue with them before. They refired it and it was so charred. Boyfriend's mother ordered hers medium rare. She asked the waiter to make sure its bloody. The steak came out medium. The asparagus was cold and the hollandaise sauce was cold unless thats how it is suppose to be. I never had this type experience in any steakhouse. It was something. Its like going to an overprice Chillis or Fridays with poor service. The manager called me the next day which was nice. He wanted to give me an "incentive" to come back. Usually Ruth's Chris is amazing, but not this time. It was a big let down.

I have been here many times and it is always excellent. The hostess asked us if we were celebrating a special event and we told her it was our anniversary. She obviously wished us happy anniversary and showed us to our table. Our waitress arrived and greeted us with "happy anniversary" and preceded to do an excellent job with the aid of the other waitstaff. I have been there many times and plan to go many more.

Recently I had their surf and turf special (2 lobster tails and a small filet). I give the steak a 4/5 (compare to other times I have dined here) and the lobster a 5/5. All sides were good (mashed potatoes, spinach). The price or the special was around 60$ which is excellent in comparison to their regular menu. Staff was friendly, but a bit slow, also we had 2 servers at the same time, and they were both confused. Ambience was nice, quiet and calm. On my most recent trip there...it was a weeknight and it appeared a lot of older (seniors) regulars were there. I would recommend this place for a decent steak.

I managed to mangle the online reservation, setting it up for the wrong time, but the host, Jason, made sure we had a pleasant dining experience despite my best efforts to mess it up. Their classics menu offers exceptional values on several complete 3 course meal options. I love their sizzling hot presentation of their outstanding steaks!

Excellent food. Great service. Lee was our waiter and he was a top notch waiter. I had the haddock which was made to perfection. The calamari as well is excellent. We had a nice California Cabernet and the sorbet was excellent. I most definitely will be back.

Bring on the cow and butter. The steak melts in your mouth and re forms in your arteries. I think this is the best national chain for steak and in the top ten for steak houses I have been to. No matter where you are the quality is always high and consistent. For the side: go with the spinach and mashed potato.

I've been here a couple times and the one downtown as well and the steaks here are great. The rib-eye melts in you're mouth. It comes to the table sizzling on a hot ass platter. Excellent service, drinks, sides and steaks. Very pricy but worth it.

Steak was good but you get more for your money plus a better steak at Morton's

To be honest, I have a hard time telling these places apart, all the old-school, semi-chain steakhouses that populate the city and suburbs. On the up side, you get a solid meal and a consistent experience: a good but not great steak, standard but reliable appetizers and side dishes, attentive service bordering on obsequiousness, hearty red wines and classic cocktails. All of those elements characterized my recent visit to Ruth's Chris, so let me talk about two things that stood out, which happen to be near and dear to my heart: calamari and bread pudding. The calamari is lightly fried and tossed in a sweet chili sauce, perhaps my favorite accompaniment for this dish. The plate also features numerous chunks of red bell peppers which are always a nice addition to pretty much anything. For dessert I hogged the bread pudding all to myself. As you might expect, Ruth's Chris's version is highly orthodox, but it is also very well executed. The whiskey sauce in particular is oustanding. So there you have it--two excellent bookends to a very good steak dinner.

We had a wonderful first R.C. experience here! We were seated immediately and waited on by John who was great. The blueberry mojito was fantastic and I cannot say enough about the lobster mac n cheese. The other highlight of the night was sweet potato casserole. Delish! The scallops, lobster bisque, spinach au gratin and steak were great but the crab cakes were just okay. Nothing extraordinary so save that for another place and splurge on one of the other dishes here.

Love the filet mignon at this place, along with the wedge salad (order extra dressing!) But I have two sleeper recommendations for this Ruth's Chris: first, go for happy hour, where they have six or seven selections (including a really good burger and fries) for eight bucks. Second, try the stuffed chicken breast from the regular dinner menu - I know it's a steak place, but this is a hidden gem. I deduct one star for the cost of the items - this place can get very expensive quickly - but the food is definitely worth it.

The customer service at this place is absolutely exceptional. Everyone was friendly and happy from the moment we stepped in the door. We were a half hour early for our reservation but were still seated immediately (granted it was very early in the evening so this might not be the case once they get busy.) Our waiter Mohamed was fantastic. One of the best waiters I think I've ever had. We ordered from the prix fixe menu (which seemed like good deal), but he happily substituted my dessert for a small up-charge. The food was fantastic as well. I'm definitely not a conisuer of upscale steakhouses, but everything we ate was absolutely delicious. And the crab meat stuffed mushrooms, just do it. I promise you won't regret the decision. I would easily return for another special occassion.

I was a little surprised to see a fast food like name tag on the server...he was polite but I felt like I was at chillis or tgi Fridays with the look and feel of the place. The steak came out really delicious, but my date and I ordered the same thing and my steak was half the size of his (both ordered petite filets). The wine was ok, but I would have preferred a better recommendation. I give 3.5 stars

Love this steak and I'm from Texas! The staff here is excellent and the food consistently fantastic. If not for business then for personal reasons, I would eat here about once a week. The shrimp remoulade or the steak carpaccio are a must as starters. The wedge salad never disappoints but if you are considering a salad as a meal, here's a tip: ask for the Black and Blue Steak Salad from the bar menu. My son always orders the bone-in cowboy ribeye and a lobster tail. My default's always the filet. Both rare to medium rare - trust me! It's the right temp. The plates are so hot it continues to cook the steak as you eat. Sides are up to you but we love the broiled tomatoes(we prefer no sugar) and sautéed spinach with garlic and lemon (just ask). The wine selection is the best I have found on the North Shore at reasonable prices and Scott keeps it rotating and fresh but with the staples that you expect from a high end steak house. Steve makes a great dirty martini shaken and served up with blue cheese olives! And tell me you don't think their valet, Peter is the best guy you have ever met! Overall, one of my favorite regular stops in the US. It just so happened to be a mile or so from my house.

This place is expensive but oh so worth it! Everything from the bread and butter to the steak is out of this world. I really liked how the manager/ownercame to our table to say hello to ask how the food was. Talk about feeling welcomed! Our server John was also fantastic. He was super attentive (but not an not annoyingly over the top) and very friendly. He took very good care of us. I guess my only con for this place would be that you can never have another steak elsewhere, as Ruth Chris ruined my chances of enjoying another steak that isn't theirs. So delicious!!

Cozy old world steak house. Attentive service with attention to every detail. Started with the chopped salad & calamari. The filet mignon had the best flavor. Much better than Morton's. Garlic mashed and sauteed mushrooms were a perfect addition. Chocolate explosion was a nice touch for desert. Respectable wine list. Great meal.

I was so excited to try this place out for the first time. Shouldn't have had my expectations so high... I've been to many many high end steak restaurants...this one will not be remembered for food nor service, but disappointment. As many others have stated on here. Over-priced for poor quality. Took my mom here for Mother's Day last night. Before we even got in the restaurant, we encountered hostility. The valet was absolutely rude and unprofessional; maybe it was because we just decided to park in a spot ourselves and not valet to walk 20 feet? Pretentious much this place? Then as we walked up to the door of the restaurant, the valet guy with a highly snobby attitude; made snide remarks. I simply told him he need not be rude nor pretentious with his $10/hr job and to back the f* away. Who f*-ing needs valet here...its a freakin suburb!! Walk 20 feet, good grief... Our server Mohammed.....good grief. I'll get to that in a bit. First impression....small cramped restaurant; not a luxury feel at all. Entire place reeked of heavy butter, and I know the butter is the specialty, but lets keep the overpowering smell in the kitchen, not where we eat. Appetizers.....stay away. Calamari was disgusting and very small pieces. Not worth $14 for measly scraps of squid. $13 Potato Au Gratin.....not worth it. Taste like Betty Crocker stuff. We got the Cowboy Bone-In Ribeyes. Cooked medium rare. It was good...super buttery. Nothing memorable though. Sizzling plate just cooked the meat even more. If you order here, get one step down from what you would normally order in terms of how you like your steaks cooked. So now back to Mohammed the waiter. Order the Blueberry Mojito. STAY AWAY from this drink....absolutely the worst drink ever. Tastes nothing like a mojito should taste like. I called him over, and said please take this back, it does not taste good and not made well. He argued with me and said..."It was not made wrong; you just simply dont like it or appreciate it. I'm like WTF.....minus tip lol. He never really came by much. Then we got the check and I paid. He stood hovering over me to see what kind of tip I gave him. What I did give him was nothing extraordinary, and definitely, nothing memorable; just like this restaurant, if we will even call it that. Very disappointed. Goodbye Ruth's Chris....

Another staple and safe bet if you fancy a steak house. To echo another reviewer's comments, most of these chain steakhouses such as Ruth's Chris feel very similar to me and I don't think you can go wrong with your decision to dine here. Dimly lit seating areas and scattered rooms make it seem almost like an old mansion. As with most of my visits to such steakhouses, you will find a lot of business/corporate dinners along with families and couples celebrating a said occasion. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and attentive, and at times, maybe a bit overkill. As with a large group and multiple courses, you are bound to be interrupted fairly often. Good steaks, reliable appetizers and the usual starters, appetizers and deserts you find in a steak house, accompanied with an extensive wine list. Instead of a usual salad, I tried the gumbo soup instead that I would recommend. BBQ shrimp as the appetizer was worth ordering and the NY strip was decent along with the many appetizers we ordered at our table. Between this and the copious amounts of wine, I didn't have much room left for desert, but did manage to nibble on two different chocolate desserts and the key lime pie...all of which were great, but would have been better on an empty stomach.

I have a difficult time differentiating between different high-end classic steakhouses. To me, an expensive steak is an expensive steak. Delicious once in a while, but definitely a product available at a handful of restaurants across the area. I would return to this Ruth's Chris location in a heartbeat. That's saying a lot. The thing that sets this place apart from others? Outstanding service. I mean, I was seriously impressed. Every single person I encountered during the meal was so friendly and courteous. We were greeted by the valet when walking in, by the hostess and managers when checking in, our server and bussers were wonderful. Staff said hello to you when you walked by them to go to the bathroom. You are checked up on by management and everyone you pass on your way out after the meal thanks you for coming in. I honestly don't remember the last time this has happened to me in any restaurant. Smart move on Ruth's Chris part, because now if I want another steakhouse dinner in the north suburbs, I will return here (even though there is a Morton's pretty much next door). Wonderful service aside, the food and drink also impress. I started my night with a Strawberry Basil Gimlet. Now I want to drink these all the time. They do run prix fixe menus all the time, so even if it isn't Restaurant Week, you can come in here and get a great meal for $40-50. I highly recommend the filet and lobster tail Rockerfeller combo. The garlic mashes potatoes are also heavenly - smooth as a baby's bottom! The atmosphere is very classic - warm, dark woods and white table cloths. Sinking into one of theirs booths with a cocktail is a perfect way to start your weekend off right. The next time I'm craving some red meat and an escape, I will definitely be back.

This place is attached to the a hotel, although the decor is exactly what a steakhouse should be, classy secluded yet warm. Most of the crowd seemed to be in suits n of the older crowd but that did not bother me. We got the Ruth classic special ( a 3 course special for around $50) a great deal. I heard the calamari was great so we got that too, and it was prb the best I have ever eaten so much flavor little soggy but it works! Cesar Salad was good. I got they 16 oz ribeye which was cooked right but a little over seasoned. Steak was alright had too much of a fatty hard texture for me compared to other ribeyes I've had. Sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were standard. Dessert was a chocolate cake which was the right size n so rich! Overall I've expected more from this place, I wouldn't consider it in the same league as the other top steakhouses, but decent food good service nice ambiance but nothing stood out to make me wanna come back and drop top dollar for a meal :(

My wife and I received a gift card as a wedding gift and decided to go to this location instead of the South Barrington one as it was closer to our hotel for the evening. While the service was excellent, the main course and appetizer was not as tasty as my previous visit. We both had the complete course, and while the salads, side dishes, and desert were excellent, the crab cakes and steaks left us unimpressed. Crab cakes - Bottoms had been overcooked and burnt. Ribeye - There was just a bit too much butter used during the cooking, as my plate had a decent sized pool of it when served. Filet Mignon - Seems as not enough butter was used, as it was over charred and the outside had a burned taste to it. While my first experience at the South Barrington location was superb, I do not think we will be visiting this location any time soon.

I was expecting an exceptional experience at Ruth's Chris Stake House. It wasn't bad, but it didn't impress me, either. The stakes were a reasonable quality. The tenderloin was too fatty for my taste. Sides of vegetables were not generous portions.

Let's do a pros and cons review for this one. PROS: + Excellent meat cuts. + Generous portions. + Knowledgeable, friendly waiters. + Impeccable Petite filet preparation (like butta) + The mirrored back wall makes the dining look larger, which is much less claustrophobic. + AMAZING dessert. Amazing. Try a truffle, you'll be glad you did. CONS: - Completely over-crowded (I mean, I get it. You want to make as much money as possible, so you cram as many table in the dining area as possible. But damn! with a full house on a Saturday night, our waiter had to walk to the end of the room every time a bus boy needed to pass through). It took us about 10 minutes to order because our waiter had to keep stopping us to move out of the way for the bus boys. It turned into a slapstick event after a while. All that was missing was someone carrying a ladder and smacking those around him in the head every time he changed direction. - My 12 oz. NY Strip was WAY over-seasoned. Not a good choice on my part. - The prep of the mashed potatoes calls for them to be drowning in butter. Luckily, I asked for butter on the side with my steak and they did the same for my mashed potatoes. I rated this place 4-stars because as far as the steak goes (and that's most important in a steakhouse) I doubt you will leave dissatisfied. My experience may have been so-so, but quality-wise, its a nice suburban establishment. I wouldn't expect this downtown though.

I've been to Morton's, Lawry's, Gibson's. the Capital Grille and a host of others... but this specific Ruth's Chris, attached to Renaissance Hotel in a most unassuming location in Northbrook, Illinois, just delivered the best steak I've ever had and, by proxy, best overall meal. And yes, like so many have also said here, their service is impeccable; far exceeding a warm attitude and considerate attention. Our main course arrived minutes after we received our salads. The waiter came to us and apologized. We finished our salads and the waiter came back and asked if we'd like to select a bottle of wine, compliments of the house... He never said it, but they were remaking our entire meal. Flawlessly. They'd sooner do that then risk reheating any dish. You do the math, my fine yelpers...

    (5)
  • Daniel S.

I don't get why this is so highly acclaimed by yelpers. This is an above average chain but a chain nonetheless. Sure- I'd rather eat a steak here than outback but there are many better steakhouses in Chicago. My ribeye looked like a cut I could've bought at the local grocer and tasted just a bit better than that.

I went to this steak house with high expectations but they were squashed after the customer service experience I had. First of all, I was there for a drug company dinner so I did not pay a dime out of pocket. The food was very good. I had stuffed mushrooms (the filling was a little mushy), seared salmon, mixed greens salad, fillet with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and mushrooms. Dessert was a pineapple bread pudding and dark chocolate bark with coconut shavings. My issue came from the wait staff. The waitress for our table (her name began with J) took a long time to refill our drinks. I asked for a refill and a few minutes later saw her standing in the corner. A few of us at our table had to ask a few times for drink refills. We got our sizzling hot steaks after an hour and a half after ordering. I saw other tables get refills on side dishes but our table did not. Once the dish was empty that was it. After dinner I excused myself to the bathroom which was clean. When I came back to my table dessert had been served. I was surprised to see coffee was not served. Once dessert was finished I went to another table where co-workers were sitting and they all had coffee. I asked how they got coffee and they said their waiter brought it. They also mentioned how quick he was. It appears my table was stuck with the not so quick waitress J. I have been to other steak houses and although the food quality was always about the same the service at Ruth's Chris in Northbrook is stinky.

Wow! That's one hot oven they cook their beef in! 1800 degrees? Plate coming to your table at a mucho caliente 500 degrees? You'd think such high temps would render the meat into an inedible mass of charcoal, and you'd be wrong my friend. What you get is a nicely charred, tender, tasty piece of heaven on your plate. My buddy and I dined here on a recent weeknight and were warmly greeted, promptly escorted to our waiting table, and immediately offered cocktails. And when I'm in a steakhouse, my cocktail of choice is an Absolut Martini, straight up, with blue cheese olives. They make a very good one here. Knowing what was ahead of us...the steaks and a couple of side dishes, we reluctantly took a pass on appetizers. Our waitress, Tracy, was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about the product at Ruth's. She explained that the steaks are seasoned with ONLY salt and pepper, and butter. The butter gives the meat an extra rich flavor. And she explained the oven cooking temperatures and cautioned us on the hotness of the plates. She shook my martinis for me at tableside too. So, I had the boneless ribeye, my buddy had the bone-in "cowboy" ribeye, and we split two side dishes...a sweet potato casserole and spinach au gratin. While the price, and my doctor's orders, preclude me from being a regular diner here, I would always consider Ruth's Chris Steak House when the evening calls for a special celebration, like a birthday, a promotion at work, a wedding anniversary, or maybe a bachelor party. Is it better than Smith and Wollensky? I don't know...I haven't been to Smith and Wollensky. Is it better than Capital Grille? Again, I don't know, haven't been to Capital Grille. Is it better than Gibson's? In some ways, it is. Yes, I've been to Gibson's on several occasions. Ruth's Chris is different. I think the prices are bit more reasonable at Ruth's Chris than at Gibson's, and the quality is about the same. Until I try Smith and Wollensky, Capital Grille, and a couple of other notable steak houses in the Chicago area, I'll say that Ruth's Chris, for the money, is the BEST steak house in the Chicago area.

The filets are excellent and service is great at Ruth's Chris. We started with the calamari to keep it light and really enjoyed it. It was a mound of calamari on an 8x8 square plate with an Asian chili sauce on top. I thought the serving size was more than enough for 2 people. Our server explained the menu and the specials well. I asked for them to go light on the butter and still got a flavorful steak. We've been to similar steakhouses and it ranked well in comparison. The au poivre sauce was a great addition. The potatoes au gratin were worth the money, but I wouldn't get the asparagus again. We were really full so we didn't try dessert, but I'm sure it would have been great. We definitely recommend it!

We stopped going 10-12 years ago when the steak quality dropped, no way it's prime. We go to Mortons now, but Ruth's had a special similar to Mortons and $20 cheaper, so we tried it again. Worst filet I've ever had, I can get better filet at an inner city grocery store. The gin and tonic was undrinkable, tonic tasted like chemicals. (they use bar tonic from a hose). Service was good, that's it. Spend the extra and go to Mortons, you get what you pay for.

Outstanding Rib-Eye. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent scotch list, great wines, and fantastic food. Tried the calamari (sensational) and the Rib-Eye Medium Rare (really outstanding). Great overall experience. Strongly recommend if you happen to be in Northbrook, IL.

I visited this Ruth Chris for the first time tonight. The staff was courteous - when staff is helpful and attentive, it makes such a difference! Well, we visited for Restaurant week w/7 adults and two toddlers. We went earlier at 530, so it was quiet when we got there. Thankfully, they gave us a small room which helped as there was less stress in worrying about the toddlers' behaviors. Both boys were well-behaved so it was no problem. They got to walk around inside the small room, so another plus. I ordered their house salad, ribeye (cooked medium), and had their dessert symphony. House salad was fine - nothing special to report. Was not the best but not the worst - just fine. The steak was delicious. so tender. And oh! So juicy!!! Which is what I wanted for tonight. Typically I order filet but tonight was totally feelin some juicy steak! Yes, I got it and it was good. Dessert symphony = mini-cheesecake + dark chocolate bar w/nuts. Not sure why, but the cheesecake was especially good tonight (I'm typically not a fan of cheesecake). Chocolate bar was good. I would definitely come back again... :)

This is a review for a trip we made a while back but remember the dinner well. While there on business my wife went with me which was a nice treat as she is rarely able to travel with me. We were in Chicago over the July 4th weekend and Chicago is a great place to be on the 4th, I had the ribeye with the broiled tomatoes and my wife had a filet with spinach and both were great as always. Those broiled tomatoes are so good even if you are not a fan of tomatoes I suggest you try them. As always the beef was delicious and service was typical of a Ruths Chris which is amazing. I have ate at many of their locations and I don't recall ever having a bad meal or even an average one.

The filet was awesome!!! Sided also delicious. I know it's a steakhouse and should expect good sea food, but i had the live Main lobster ($75) and unfortunately it was soooo overcooked. I ate rubber:( i didn't complain but i payed a lot for a few bites. That's why its not a 5star review.

Easily the top 2 best Steak restaurants around. I recently took my parents there and my father, a steak lover, absolutely fell in love with this place. My mother is not big into steaks but she also stated in was amazing. Since then, I'm pretty sure my parents have visited Ruth's Chris a couple times. But hey! How can you go wrong with a steak thats comes out drenched in butter!. lol Awesome food, awesome service, awesome ambiance!

I would give this place a 4.5 star if it was possible. Food: 5/5 (ribeye) 4/5 (the rest) Decor/atmosphere: 4.5/5 (classical, dark, upscale in an old fashioned way) service: 5/5 My family (there were 4 of us including me) ordered: Shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, 2 bone-in ribeye, 2 fillet mignon with lobster tails, and 2 glasses of dry red wine that the server recommended (I didn't drink it though) Fillet mignon was great. One of the top 3 fillet mignons I've ever had. It was perfect medium rare and the portion was huge. Unfortunately, the lobster wasn't the best I've had. it was overcooked and who would want overcooked lobster. The server apologized and gave me the new plate though. And finally, the RIBEYE. Wow, oh WOW. it was just sooooo great. just soooooo delicious! I cannot describe the level of deliciousness of this meat. It's by far the best ribeye I've ever had in my entire life. Meat lovers, go to Ruth's Chris. And try the ribeye. You will fall in love.

I have only been here once. And I thought it was wonderful. The food was great, I had a really nice experience with the servers as well. I thought the food as a little pricey but I also thought it was delicious. The whole experience was really great. This is a place, for me, that I would go to on special occasions. But I would absolutely suggest coming here at least once.

Their hostess is the reason why I bumped it up to five stars. We called last minute on a Friday night during restaurant week and she happily got us a side by side table, which was fantastic. She was cheerful and not at all snooty!!!!! Our server was sheer delight! Efficient, polite and personable! The price fixed meal was stupendous! The chowder was thick and flavorful. The balsamic vinaigrette salad had great balance in taste, not at all tangy like some balsamics can be be. We enjoyed the strip steak and a filet, cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were so tasty in their creamy texture and hinted with garlic. The chocolate cake was one taste of such intense chocolate flavor balanced with fresh berries and a vanilla sauce (which I could have used a tad more of and my onlyknock on this entire meal).

Nothing more I could add than what has already been said below. Just wanted to post to say that this is the best steak house I've been to in the entire Chicago area. Although Gibsons on Rush is a close second. The food is wonderful, the service is five star, and their drinks are well made. Great atmosphere for a romantic night out or celebrating a major life milestone. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Was here with my wife for Valentine's day. I have been to multiple other Ruth's Criss locations across the US so I knew what to expect - the best. This location did not disappoint. What can I say, they simply have the best steak and I've been to Gibson's, Smith & Wollensky, Capital Grille, Wildfire, Sullivan's, Morton's, Chicago Chophouse, and others. I nearly gave 4 stars as they had us waiting a bit long for a long-previously set reservation. Good atmostphere...but if you want the absolute best atmosphere (in my humble opinion), Sullivan's edges top spot on this one. I would definitely go back to this location or any other in the US. If you haven't been, try it as it is fully worth the price.

Zero stars for the obnoxious hostess. We went in last night to have dinner at 6:30 for three. We did not have a reservation and we're told that the first table we could get would be at 8:30. She then proceeded to tell us we could go into the bar to wait. Obviously, she has no clue what is happening two steps away from the hostess stand, as the bar is packed with not even one spot open. Ok, so at this point, one of the guys in our group goes onto open table online and secures a 7:30 reservation that is open on the system. So now we decide we will go into the attached hotel's bar for a drink while we wait and we inform the hostess that we secured a reservation that is confirmed by open table and is now showing on her computer with our name on the reservation. We let her know we are staying but going to the hotel bar. We have our first round of drinks and at 7:15, the assistant to the hostess comes to the hotel bar. She tells us that she was sent by the hostess to inform us that we will still have to wait until 8:30 as they are so busy. So, we inquired why then would their reservation system allow us to book a 7:30 time. She says we somehow sneaked in and they will not honor our 7:30 reservation. So we ask again what is the point of having a confirmed reservation and get some lame made-up answer from her that makes no sense. Our group decides not to give our business to this restaurant and not continue to wait. Went one building over to Morton's Steakhouse where we were treated like kings, seated within 15 minutes, and had a great experience with awesome service and great food. Spent a significant amount of money on food and alcohol and ordered two meals to go for family members at home. Big loss for Ruth Chris and we will never go there or recommend Ruth Chris. Good riddance to you!

Went to Ruth Chris for Valentines Day 2011 and again it was def a perfect dinner! My boyfriend and I have been here about 5 times already for special occasions like birthday, anniversary and such. My bf always orders the fillet Mignon and its always to his liking (he is very picky when it comes to his meats) its great that you can always count on superb service when you walk into any Ruth Chris Steak House. I ordered the lobster and Rib eye steak, the steak was full of flavor and the lobster was delish as well. The atmosphere is romantic because the lights are dimmed and its quieter than Gibson's Steak house which is on the rowdy side. I def recommend it to anyone trying to impress their date and as well as for anyone who enjoys great steaks.

I was very excited to give this place a try, as I love trying different steak houses and heard many good things about Ruth's Chris' famous Butter Steaks! So, i went to this place for the first time on my birthday, it was a thursday so it was nice and low key. Once we walked in and was greeted by the Hostess, she looked up our reservation and immediately asked, "so, who's birthday is it?" ... that really shocked us! (since we didnt specify such details on the reservation) So, as we looked at each other, trying to figure out how the hell she knew that... And at the same time she was scanning both of our faces, I was trying to figure a way to deny it cause i really didnt want any happy birthday celebrations at the restaurant, like having the staff come sing to you! She took one look at my puzzeled face, which was actually my thinking face, and said "happy birthday" (did i mention i was also bad at poker?!)! Anyway, I said, uhm thanks and left it at that, clearly not interested in any of this, and then we were seated. It was a nice place, tables not too crowded, quiet, perhaps romantic. We orded this prefix meal for $39.99. Came with an Starter, Entree w/ 1 side, and Dessert. Of course when the waiter was asking us for our drink order, I asked him if the Steaks from this special were any smaller then the "normal" entree size :) And he said, no, it's the same size. ok, perfect. For the Starters, I had the Steak House Salad and my girlfriend had the Watermelon and Mixed Greens Summer salad. My salad was just a nice mixed greens salad.. it was fine, no complaints. On the other hand, her salad was a huge plate of seedless water melon squares (4 very large squares) on top of a mixed greens salad.. it was pretty damn good watermelon... super sweet too! The chef must really know how to thump watermelon to tell if it's ripe or not :) It was really good... and i think we would come back just for this watermelon salad. Next was the Entrees. I had the regular Filet and she had the Surf and Turf (with petite filet). The steaks were cooked exactly right and pretty good, but I have to say I might have preferred a little less butter on it... they definitely over did it on the butter, but that's what they are known for I guess. For the sides, we had green beens with roaster garlic, and sautee mushrooms, and actually those were also drenched in butter... dont come here if you're on a diet! For the desserts, there was only 1 choice, strawberry shortcake with chocolate and pecan truffles. however, when the waiter came back with the plates, the first thing he asked was "so, who's birthday is it?" ... MAN, wtf. All I was thinking was, no, we're not going to do this... but, what he ended up doing was just placing the larger plate in front of me, put a candle on it and lit it up, and said "happy birthday" and left us alone... very classy and handled exactly how I wanted it.. low key. So, overall, I thought the steak was good, cooked right, tasted pretty good, but drowning in butter, so it should taste good. Water melon salad was a very nice surprise, and the service was excellent. Not sure if i have the desire to go back, it was expensive and not sure if i like the steak that much. And would be more expensive if that deal wasnt going on too since everything is a la carte.... Cafe Lucci's still has a better steak, tho i still have my gripes about them.

Wow you can smell the butter and charbroiled Steaks as you walk in the door. I was certainly not disappointed in the least. Steaks were fantastic and perfectly cooked to order! These were flavorful juicy prime steaks that were enhanced even more by the butter-- omg im hungry wring this. Lol. Sides were deeeelish too! Service at the bar was friendly as was the dining room! Excellent all around!

I'm definitely a meat eater, so going for a steak the day before thanksgiving sounds like fun for me. We were the first two in our party of eight, but we were able to be seated post-haste. Our table was ready when we walked in, and sat down to peruse our choices and the wine list (which is extensive, by the way). Our server was kind enough to take our drink order before our guests arrived, which was awesome as well. Once our guests arrived, we started figuring out who would order what, so as not to have too much of the same things at our table (gotta love sampling!). We ordered 3 appetizers, two sides, and steaks [and a couple seafood plates]. I was so full of food and butter and wine that I was very sleepy and ready to roll my way home as soon as dinner was finished. Fantastic staff, nice atmosphere, and just plain awesome!

I LOVE steak and if I ever get the chance to pamper myself and celebrate...I get big brother to take me here! Hahaha, yes I'm shameless, but Ruth's Chris is a family favorite! My brother loves the scallops (when in season & offered on the menu) and potatoes. They adapted their asparagus side for my brother, just the way he likes it. The steaks are AMAZING. The filet and ribeye are both delicious, and they offer an option of having it served/cooked with butter, which my friends loved. Sides are a separate order that are not included. It's pricey, but this is one of those places where you truly get what you pay for. Service is always polite, friendly, prompt, and isn't so frequent that it bothers you, but not so scarce that you're neglected. Now I'm really hungry...

Ever had your steak served on a hot plate with melted butter? Does it really get any better? YUM! Love the food, the atmosphere, it's awesome! Be prepared, everything is ala carte, but it's well worth what you're paying when you consider what other steakhouses charge. The drinks are about what you would pay in any nicer restaurant, but expect to spend a good amount of dinero for dinner for two. My husband and I each get steak, a side, a shared appetizer, drink and dessert and the tab, with tip, was $250.

Ate here for first time last night and I have never had service like that before...I seriously don't think my waterglass ever got below half full! Waiter was very personable and really took care of us all night....his boss even had nice little joke at the end of our meal to really tie things together (albeit the joke wasn't the joke to end all jokes). The food followed suit as well! Gotta be careful when the bread is served although as one could lose their whole apetite on that alone. The calamari was out of this world (fried in an Asian/Thai sauce and a lemon that gives it that little extra umph). I'd also recommend reserving one of their private rooms for dinner.

Bring on the cow and butter. The steak melts in your mouth and re forms in your arteries. I think this is the best national chain for steak and in the top ten for steak houses I have been to. No matter where you are the quality is always high and consistent. For the side: go with the spinach and mashed potato.

Great meal.

i would have to say this place is highly overrated and everytime my steak comes out too well done( i like it medium)...... ughhh but its better than mortons, sullivans, flemings, wildfire, etc.....

I was expecting an exceptional experience at Ruth's Chris Stake House. It wasn't bad, but it didn't impress me, either. The stakes were a reasonable quality. The tenderloin was too fatty for my taste. Sides of vegetables were not generous portions.
