It was busy on Wednesday morning!!! (10-11am) service was good, prompt, polite. Its not a 5* because our crape order came with peaches instead of apples, my btl was supposed to have mayo on the side (which i got but there was a ton inside the sandwich already )... And the California scrambled came with ONE thin slice of avocado. Everything tasted great tho.

Come on! low star yelpers - it's the IHOP so adjust your expectations accordingly and this place is just fine. It's clean, cheap and consistent on the food. The service was prompt, polite and friendly. Thanks Manny! I have made this my waiting room for the just tires that is across the street. Much better to spend an hour hers sipping coffee and chomping on breakfast than in that holding tank at the tire place. Thank you IHOP for setting the standard for the American breakfast.

02/08/2015 - Dinner Log This place sucks. Waited 45 minutes to receive food. Waitress served me pancakes on a plate the exact size of the pancakes and looked confused when I asked for a regular plate. All the staff was hiding by the kitchen, other patrons stretched their necks to see where their waiter was. The children that work their look like they have all failed the entrance exam for community collage and were forced to work at IHOP, burger king or McDonald's. They had tattoos on their necks piercings in their jaws or they were about 12 years old. This place was not like this when they first opened, but has degraded into one big crap fest. Food tasted good doh.

THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Plain and simple. I give it one star only because there a no-star option does not exist. Been here multiple times hoping that every visit will be different...but unfortunately I end up leaving here disappointed every single time. One visit included pancakes and hash browns taking about 45 minutes to be served (not to mention it was cold when it was put on our table) and the waiter or the manager was not apologetic whatsoever instead they seemed annoyed and had really bad attitudes about it. One visit I wouldn't really count considering they said they opened at whatever time is listed on their door and someone had already unlocked their doors and once we walked in the girl at the counter tells us they're not open with such a snarky attitude and that we had to leave and locks the door as we walk out, two minutes later they magically open but due to the poor customer service I had no problem not turning back around to walk in. So sad considering they're the only IHop within the area. I would write about the other visits but it's not even worth it, it'll pretty much end in disappointment. Hope though that they could one day improve things though. Best of luck.

I've come here on several occasions and they are just always packed whether you go early for breakfast or for lunch, however the wait isn't too bad or maybe I am just that hungry that I don't mind to wait. The girls at the counter are always too busy talking or on their phones on facebook I recently came here and it took the girl a good 3 mins to acknowledge I was standing infront of the counter and for her to finish her status update and txtn before she took my name down. Another girl was sitting on the floor complaining about how her feet her from the night before.. like really come on get up of the floor that looks so unproffesional, I know IHOP isn't a fancy place but you need to have better ettiquette then that especially at job. Now sometimes this place is a hit or miss on the service, you have some of the waiters who go above and beyond and some that just dont' give a shit! I hate having to ask to get my water refilled and most of the time after the food comes out the damn waiter is M.I.A until the check needs to come out. Doesn't come back to ask how the food is or if we need anything else, and half the time I have to ask another waitress or waiter near by to give me more water or napkins or even utensils. I don't even want to get into how the inappropriate the "Manager" is, from the numerous times I've been here hee talks to his employees horribly, and you can see the lack of respect they have for him and he has for his employers. NOW- let's get to the food.. the food is always mediocre I cant say its horrible and I wont say it's the best, but it's decent. Pancakes are prolly the only thing I always eat and I am satisfied with. it's an ok IHOP needs new mangement and employees!
Waited almost an hour for our food and there were only about 7 tables. When we finally did get our food my daughter had to wait an extra 5 minutes to get her pancakes....Really?! It's a pancake restaurant

This IHOP is usually busy and the waitstaff are as accomodating as they can be while they bustle around the food orders & coffee. They try but I think the franchisee/owners should address how many tables the waitstaff can really handle or maybe aside from the cashier, have a food service manager...If you're willing to wait a while for your food, it is good.

After two visits here in last month we are throwing in the towel. AWFUL SERVICE. The waitress rushed us through ordering, getting us our food at different times and overall just rude. I made the mistake of ordering a turkey dinner, it looked delicious in the picture hanging by the front door. Big Mistake. I was served chopped turkey bits that resembled canned dog food. Stuffing was soaked in gravy,if you could call it that. A teaspoon of cranberry sauce on the side.Another order was screwed up making eggs the wrong style then being told that is how they come.Really? Since when is there no choice at IHOP?? Especially after you asked how she wanted them cooked!?. We live 5 mins from here but will glady drive to Rosemont IHOP from now on to get great service and a good meal.

I am not really a big fan of IHOP, but when they were giving away free pancakes the day before Lent started how could I resist? Viva la Free Pancake Day! Not only were the pancakes magically delicious as only free food can be, the meals that we DID pay for were tasty too! It was also refreshing to be served by employees who actually like their job instead of the disgruntled servers that I normally find at places like IHOP. So next year on Fat Tuesday, I know where I am going to have pancakes...yay!

I don't think I'll ever be going to an IHOP again. This place recently opened. It's in a location that used to be a Blockbuster. The place is tiny and the food is horrible. I ordered the garden omelet. Ok, I know, if I'm going to the International House of Pancakes, I should order pancakes. But really, this omelet was so bad, I couldn't eat it. My husband ordered crepes with nutella and said his plate was fine. My brother-in-law had pancakes and shared some with me. They were ok. Instead of going here, there a a few family owned places in the area that have fresh ingredients and better quality food, like Family Palace or Sally's Pancake House.

I love IHOP... well, at least, the pancakes. I just crave them every once in a while. The IHOP I used to go to on Cicero was inconvenient, crowded & cramped. The wait time was just too long (but the food was good). So, I was so excited when they opened this IHOP in Norridge. I've given it several tries, but there's just something about it that isn't convincing me to stay loyal. The service all around is poor, the food is inconsistent, and I've gotten to the point where I always find something about it that just grosses me out. One time I saw the manager snapping at the bussers to get some tables cleaned... snapping... like a master to a servant. I couldn't believe it. The place isn't spic & span clean... I've sat in a booth that had something spilled and we didn't notice until after they'd seated us there. You would think they would clean it up prior to sitting the next table. And, lastly, the food just isn't the same as the other IHOPs... I feel like I could make something better at home. Now... I'm not dissing IHOP in general... just this one. I've started traveling a little farther to the one in Rosemont for better food and service... and that restaurant is HUGE... nice and roomy.

Went here for a late lunch yesterday. I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelette and my friend ordered the double blt. The omelette was okay except after a few bites I realized they put chunks of very strong, raw onion in it. I told the server that the onion was nowhere near cooked and he said that is how they do it and did not offer to remake it. I mentioned it to the cashier on the way out and she said they do not cook the onion in any omelettes. I have NEVER had an omelette anywhere else where they put raw onions in the dish. Neither the server or the cashier offered any remedy to the problem. My friend's blt was served with a squeeze packet of mayo instead of on the sandwich as the menu states. The whole sandwich fell apart when trying to put the mayo on it. This place has terrible customer service as they do nothing except say they're sorry to try to please a customer. Never again!

Why does a place that puts pancakes in its name have such terrible pancakes. Absolutely terrible. If they didn't have the syrup, which makes them ok, they would be inedible. Terrible pancakes and service is just ok.

Please note that this has happened numerous times to my friends and family and it's VERY rude and irritating. Me and my friend were gonna have a nice cheap Ihop breakfast and we were very excited to do so before we both had to go off to college the next day. I can't complain about the food, it's Ihop, all the food is the same in every ihop restaurant because it's a chain. Its glorious cheap american food and I was excited to enjoy it. However on this day we came in and there were I'd say only about 4 booths filled with customers and 3 workers doing NOTHING. We were patient at first and just decided to chit chat so they can get things together. Time passes and I look around and I see a woman cleaning off a table in the back with the speed of a turtle hurdling through peanut butter. The man that showed us to our table was frankly just circling around the restaurant to probably kill time. Other customers were eating or leaving and their tables were being cleaned (slowly). By this time we both decided what we wanted and still no one came up. We still waited. And waited. And then we realized we have been sitting there for a good 20-30 minutes and no one even came up to ask what we wanted to drink. We decided to leave and upon leaving the man that showed us in gave us a look like "yeah I know this place sucks". Wow. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OLD STAFF, I remember coming here and the service was great with really nice waiters. This day it felt like we were being ignored (and possibly been given dirty looks) by a bunch of snooty teenagers filled with anger that they have a job at Ihop. This has happened before to the friend I went to eat with that day, and it happened to my mother just a few days ago. This is ridiculous. I would fire that whole staff. The people working there were so lazy and slow it was a pain to watch. If the service was this bad I came to the conclusion that they probably would deal with the food just as poorly. I used to love this place, what a shame. Me and my friend were so annoyed and once we left we went to the H.I.P across the street and got panda express and some cinnabons and were served by people who actually did their job. Stay away from this place unless u want to be treated poorly, or maybe in a year when there's new staff.

Went here this morning for some breakfast with me and my 2 year old son, walked in was greeted by the first door coming in which was nice and was sat like normal and waited to be greeted at my table by my server but literally took 10 minutes and multiple servers walking past us and even a older couple seated after us was greeted and order taken before finally a server who I made eye contact with at least twice while waiting came up to us to say hi and take our order, by the way both times I made eye contact with her she was just standing around not to mention the place had only like 5 tables seated... come on ihop, I know this is not a 5 star restaurant to eat but this is server 101 always greet your table at the very least within a minute or two I mean some places greet within 30 seconds but again ihop I know isn't a top tier place to eat, The food was normal when it came, aside from the slightly burnt toast, although portions were a little smaller then other ihops I have visited. Compared to the ihop in rosemont,il this one is one star but the food at least tasted ok. My server was Kelly R.

Definitely recommend avoiding this place at all costs! Ok, so I went here with my girl friend one night for after doing dome shopping at the hip and could have not had a worst experience. First, the service was horrible, they got our orders wrong and had a terrible attitude. The staff was not rude per say, but they very obviously demonstrated their desire to get out of there and be on there way home. The food was also horrible. It might have not helped that we were there late, but... nonetheless you'd never expect the service to be this bad ( at the end of our late night dining experience the server apologized by saying" Sorry guess you should have gotten here sooner"..WTF!!) I have to say, this has been the absolutely worst ihop experience I've ever had and plan on paying no further patronage to this awful local.

If there was a zero stars, it would get that. I went in to get lunch, stood at the host stand for 10 mins and even then was my acknowledged until there was another couple of people that came in behind me. Then the hostess ignored me and offered to seat the others after she took care of the customers that had come up to pay for their meal and waited there 5 mins with me. Maybe some urgency around getting your customers served would get more business...just a thought!

I come to this IHOP often sines it's so close to my home. My waiter was an older man. Prompt with my beverages which is always a plus since I drink everything so quickly. Food is hot and staff is nice. I've I blue ever had a problem with the hash browns in that they were burnt. Other than that, no problems.
(4)
Kat L.
Terrible service. Terrible food. They'll burn anything and still set the plate down in front of you. Bacon, hash browns, you name it. Pancakes are sad. Coffee is usually lukewarm. I love love love breakfast. For a breakfast chain, you'd think they could deliver good breakfast food. It has an extensive menu.... which is nice, but execution is always hit or miss. To be safe, i'll usually get the nutella n banana crepes or crepes with hollandaise sauce (chicken crepes or with spinach n mushrooms). Ihop is nowhere near what it once used to be growing up. Don't let the fancy updated interior fool you-- they keep this ihop cold like a fridge and the food subpar.

I've been here a few times this past year and every time was consistent. It's an Ihop, not a 5 star restaurant. Pancakes are the way to go in my eyes. It's always been clean, and the staff is always nice. The last time I went however, the service was a little shoddy cos the poor girl was working a huge section alone.
(3)
Cindy S.
The girl at the front hostess stand is incredibly rude. We did not want to sit at the table directly next to the kitchen... Not a terrible request i believe. After she was told that we did not wamt to sit there, she huffed and puffed and even began slamming menus aroubd the hostess stand. If you go there and encounter the girl with the black hair and multi-colored glasses, kill her with kindness because she has a terrible attitude.

This is our 3rd time at this location and they are terrible. Last time the food was bad. Today the hostess sat was an eye rolling rude girl!!!! We went to the bathroom and when we came back she had already sat other people at our table and we hadn't eaten yet. Then, she proceeds to tell me why it was my fault instead of apologizing and fixing the problem.. Talk about bad service. Our server was nice but took long to check on us too.. I give up with this place.

This was my fiancés favorite place to eat until tonight. So I guess they only had 1 cook which equaled to my family waiting almost an hour for our food. I went to ask how much longer it would be and the manager looking girl said rudely I'll check, well then it came right out... But it was all wrong. So I got very frustrated and said we were leaving and asked our waitress for the check, she gives it to me right away didn't change anything the bill was about $30 I said we are not paying for food we did not eat so I took it to the front and told my boys lets go. There was a line so we waited, I said how can they expect us to pay for things we didn't eat , and with that the manager looking girl said with so much attitude no you don't have to pay for anything And I replied yeah how do you expect us to pay after we waited for so long and it came out wrong She shot back with a well I am sorry (but in condescending tone ) So as we walked out I had to get the last word in I said no you are not! The look that was on her face was epic. I hate that it all went down like that but let's be serious people if you know the food is going to take forever give the customers a heads up

I have to say, this has been the absolutely worst ihop experience I've ever had and plan on paying no further patronage to this awful local.

Love the food but sometimes when they are busy it takes a while because the are under staff.
