Alrighty I just had this place w/my bf tonight. We got a large pizza half of it with sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms and the other pepperoni peppers and onions. Well it was okay, there was too many of the peppers and onions and it ruins the flavor of the pizza. Also it was very very greasy and I would like more sauce on it. It was okay though I liked the crust, though I am partial to a thicker crust, hello Giordanos! Anyways and the fries would have been good had they been fresh. We also got the breaded steak sandwich or wahtever it was okay too. I don't know how much it cost though, the bf paid for it. EHHH better pizza choices in the Chi area.

We ordered delivery twice. Most recently got the Western BBQ pizza. My husband loves Moretti's version but they are just so expensive! So we did Al's. Very good variety on the menu and we were very pleased. I will definitely order from them again. I did take away one star because pizza was tiny bit on the greasy side, but still very good.

Very Very good pizza. The personal pizzas there are HUGE and very filling and the people there are real friendly. Their really cheap too if you want a good pizza for cheap i would recommend this place.

I would do 10 stars for this place if i could! By far the best thin crust pizza around. They should have a warning sign outside letting people know that their pizza is highly addicting. My husband and I order from them every Sunday night. I could eat this pizza everyday. LOVE.

Worlds "WORST" pizza!!! Ordered a Family sized sausage pizza....easy sauce. The order taker said "enjoy"....REALLY??? It was burnt and tasted like cardboard. I think they measured the sausage by the 1/4 tsp. ... I asked for "easy sauce" and got.......NO sauce at all...My guests had brought the salad to accompany the pizza and I ended up throwing away the Al' s pizza and having hot dogs on the grill with their salad.....how embarrassing!!!! I will ... NEVER ...EVER....order from them again. Definitely.. ... NOT ....Chicago's # 1 Pizza. Really Sad!!!

I ordered deep dish through app when came to pick it up the price was different five bucks in change because it didn't charge on the application some ingredients when I asked why they didn't inform me they said because its cash payment had to pay the extra price about the pizza let you know when I'm done with it but now with the server for the service to stars Pizza is good taste good little to much cheese for me but still very tasty wroth to try

Yes yes yes. We thoroughly enjoyed eating here. Thinnest crust pizza I've had in years. Lots of real cheese and fresh toppings. We were taking a shot in the dark via a YELP recommendation (out of towners) and we did well.

Was recently in rosemont il. For the motorcycle show. I decided to order pizza and a sandwich. Al's pizza has the best thin crust pizza and a great Italian beef sandwich. I would recomend this place to anyone in the area.

The food is as fresh as it gets it is made to order there is nothing frozen, and the sauce is made with only the freshest ingredients with their own family recipe. When I am back intown i usually order from their Irving park location, i introduced the thin crust from als when i was back home to my 11 year old daughter and that is the only thin pizza she asks for as soon as we land in Ohare and it is superb. Not a pizza chain this is totally family owned its DELICIOUS!

We just moved in to the area and because of the good reviews on Yelp we decided to order from here. Their thin crust pizza is mediocre with a tangy sauce. The kids ages 13 and 10 took few bites and decided to make some other food and my kids usually eat anything. Now I have basically a whole box of pizza with nobody wanting leftovers (this never happens) We also got the appetizer combo which included fried zucchini fried mushroom and mozzarella cheese sticks. Well we got whole bunch of zucchini a few mushrooms and 3 cheese sticks. Next time i'm ordering elsewhere.

We came by this location because it was close to the hotel we were staying at. After having Gino's East and Giordani's this place can't compare. Although the other 2 places were deep dish this place was not even better then Papa John's. We ordered an extra large and had plenty of left over which I never touched and if you know me that's free food I don't pass up. The pizza was lacking flavor nor was the crust even crunchy. I scrapped off the toppings and ate it without the crust. It seems to be a local favorite though there were a lot of people coming in and out to pick up pizza but for me it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Al's has a great thin crust pizza. I'm a big fan of the thin crust with pepperoni and garlic. I've also had the chicken parmesan with rigatoni, which was excellent. The bruschetta is some of the best around. I've met Al and he is a very friendly guy. It is always nice when you get a chance to see the owner behind a restaurant. It shows they are committed to running a good business and committed to the customers.

Stopped here on a whim with no clue what to expect; color me impressed. Ordered a thin crust pizza with spinach and ricotta and, man, was it good. I love thin crust so I was surprised that theirs is a tasty, browned cracker-thin crust. Not at all heavy on the sauce and the dusting of oregano really bumped up the flavor a notch. A big plus was that the cheese wasn't anywhere nearly as greasy like some pizzas I've had--no need to reach for the napkins after every bite--nor was it rubbery. And they sure don't skimp on the toppings either. For me this was a perfect pizza and I'll definitely be keeping them in mind when I want a classier pizza than the chain stuff.

AWESOME pizza, My husband and I met Al at Roma's in the city. We didn't know about Al's and learned that we are about 15 min's from them (if we get stopped by a train it can be 20 to 50 min's LOL) so we checked it out. Like I said awesome pizza, it only has a few tables but nice, stay there or take home. From the people taking the orders to the delivery guys, all around GOOD FRIENDLY people.

Usually this place is very good. That's why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of lower. Tonight I just happen to have a very bad experience. The fried mushrooms were tasteless, overcooked and chewy. I usually like my fried mushrooms a little crispy and fresher. I used to get them before and they used to be better. So I'm not sure what happened. Then we had also ordered the mozzarella sticks. Again, definitely overcooked. The cheese wasn't stretchy when you pull it apart. It was tough and I couldn't eat more than one stick. Tonight was the first time trying their buffalo chicken sandwich and probably my last. Who puts lettuce and tomato on a very hot sandwich? The lettuce was wilted and soggy and a warm tomato is not a good thing. I expected the chicken to be a full boneless chicken breast with buffalo sauce on bread but the chicken was all chopped up. Definitely not what I expected at all. Although the sauce was ok, I wish they could get a "mild" sauce for those who can't stomach hot sauce. Above all, they should change their fried food times and make sure every order is exact. It was a loss of $30 tonight. Very disappointed.

I was in a bar across the side street from this place last night and a couple came in with one of these pies. The Phil Spector "wall of smells" filled the air like no beach boy album ever did. The visual matched the aroma. They offered me a slice but I had just eaten a huge dinner and respectfully declined. However I took note and made plans to check it out. Low and behold I found myself at this gin mill again tonight having skipped dinner only partaking in several Stellas as appetizers. I stumbled in @ around 10:30, they close at 11. Ordered a small sausage, paid, set my internal timer and was off to have one more beer. Upon my return the pie was just being cut, they walked it out to me, perfect timing. In a word, a great pie. Crust was thin and crisp, sauce was ample, tasty morsels of flavorful sausage with plenty of cheese. Pictures taken of this disc not one minute removed from the oven. I dined al fresco, if having the sunroof open counts.

Wonderful pizza. Lots of cheese, good sauce. Perfect thin but chewy crust. It is exactly what I wanted and expected. In a strip mall with a few tables. Probably best for take out and delilvery.

Best pizza around and their special that comes with a free small pizza when you order a large 2 toppings is a sweet deal.

My favorite pizza. Canadian bacon, mushrooms and black olives and def it is as good as it gets. Order the 18 inch and get a free cheese pizza, which is equally good. Note you must mention the free pizza when ordering. Overall good place. Not the best customer service I'v got, but as far as the pizza is concerned it is def a 5 star

Terrible! Horrible service, cold greasy bad food, long delivery times. Got order completely wrong - phone person argued when we called about this. Finally got correct pizza over 2.5 hours after we placed our original order - and it was cold, crust was soggy, and it had way too much cheese - Pizza Margherita should not have 5 lbs of greasy cheese on it ; was absolutely disgusting - we ended up throwing it out, it was so bad. The Fried calamari was literally grease sodden and dripping with cold congealed fryer grease. Onion rings were limp, soggy and grease squirted out when bitten into! Unbelievable - and the argumentative and nasty phone person was the icing on the cake. We will never order from this place again - cannot recommend, my guts are churning from this kitchen nightmare.. ughhhhhhhhh.

4*?? Seriously? What a disappointment. So many great pizza reviews, but we ordered the stuffed pizza and... well - just say NO. The stuffed artichoke was horrible, I am in shock that it lives on the menu. However, the bruschetta was decent and ended up being my meal. And to make things worse, it was supposed to be 1hr and 15 minutes... huh? We got our food in almost 2 hours. I'd say Mama Mia's has Al's beat - by far. Sorry Al's... maybe stick w/ the stuff on your menu that is great and leave the rest off!

Love the place. Yummy food, very friendly staff, and super cheap prices. My husband is a big fan of the eggplant parmesan sub, served with french fries that are so good that they're worth mentioning (they make 'em super crispy here). I get a panzarotti with spinach, which is kinda like a calzone with attitude. They describe it as a pizza folded in half, with cheese and sauce and whatever topping you want inside, either baked or fried (I get it baked). They have a cooler filled with RC products, both cans and 1-liter bottles. The 1-liter bottles are less than 2 bucks and are the perfect size to share between 2 people, which is another way to save a little cash.

I have no idea how this place has so many good reviews. The pizza was tasteless. Oh, except for the piece of hair that was baked into my first slice, that was tasty. But the pizza had NO flavor! Cheese was rubbery and bland. Tomato sauce was watered down and flavorless. And the veggies were sliced so thin that they had no textured by the time the pizza was cooked. After eating one slice (after throwing away the first piece with hair), I literally took the box straight to the garbage. Delivery took one hour and 15 minutes to arrive and then the delivery man did not have a pen, so I had to come back upstairs to get one, and no, he did not offer an apology, nor did he say "enjoy", "thank-you", "have a good day", anything that usual delivery servers would say, especially after leaving a $6.00 which I could not back out of since I added it while ordering. $50.00 later and we are still hungry, the piece of hair was definitely not fulfilling.

Hi,Al. It's me,Patty. I'd like to get together with you tonight,if you can work me in. You can? 25 minutes? Great! I'll be there with cash! I was craving pizza all day and this thin thin thin pie hit the spot.Thanks,Al.

  • Chris W.

I'm not the largest fan of thin crust pizza but we ordered it with a couple coupons and both times came back high quality pizza. We stayed simple and got both cheese and spinach and sausage. Though the cheese and spinach had a great flavor and was great and plentiful in ingredients I fell in love with the sausage pizza. I tend to think I'm the reincarnation of a T-Rex sometimes. It's the type of pizza that because it's thinner you don't feel so bad eating a bunch of pieces but then even when you want to stop you can't because it's so addicting. They deliver and do carry out orders!

Very good thin crust pizza, in fact the best we've found in the area. Flavorful sauce, lots of toppings, and they deliver to Park Ridge.

Very good food! I've ordered different things from the menu before and each time, the food was really good! After ordering two days in a row, I had to post a review. Today's meal (calamari and cannoli) arrived hot, earlier than expected, and my goodness, the cannoli is excellent! I would right more but I'm stuffing my face at the moment. I've found a new lovah! (sorry, hubby)

I probably order Al's Pizza once a month and every single time, it is perfect. I recently moved to chicago and tried various local pizza parlors and i have to say, Al's Pizza is top 3 in my list. Fast delivery, pizza is hot and toppings are delicious. I wish we had pizza like this in California. Thanks AL!

This place is just great. I always get 18 inch pizza with 2-3 toppings and tye give you a small cheese pizza for free. This comes to about 22 bucks but the taste of it is something else. I would say my favorite pizza place so far

I had carry-out Pizza. I ordered a sausage thin crust. The pizza had a good flavor. The crust was very thin, a good thing. I had a couple of problems with the pizza. One, there was some burnt leftovers on the bottom of some of the pizza. Someone didn't clean the oven. Two, there was a lot of grease on the top of the pizza. A good Chicago thin crust pizza is not covered in grease. I don't think I would try it again, since there are so many very good pizza places around Chicago.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
