Did you know that Steak n Shake was founded in #Blono? Not this location but kudos to SnS for it's consistency here and across the country. Order Chili fully loaded (cheese and raw onions) and encourage those you are with to eat it as well so you can all have onion breath together. If you don't order a milkshake I won't let you be my yelp friend. I prefer the side by side Chocolate and White Chocolate (only available around Jesus' birthday) or the Cookies n Cream. Luv the skinny fries, I eat 'em all. And you can't go wrong with any of the burgers. The spicy chipotle is great. It's not spicy though, just flavorful. I always gorge myself because I can't say no to your sides!!!

The best advice I can give anyone is travel to another Steak N Shake. Their lack of common sense and poor service has to be from the example of management. I find it utterly impossible for them to complete even the simplest task without it being an issue. If you ask for extra ice...let me ask the manager. it's insane. If you must patronize this steak n shake.... Please, Please check you order before you leave !!!!

Great food as usual but the service was slow and our server forgot a couple items we requested. All in all it's fine for a $4.00 lunch but not much else

The service at this location is pretty terrible almost always. Long waits and awkward servers. The food is the same as the other locations, which is usually pretty gross but you know what you're getting into when you go. Really, I only go because for some reason it fills a craving that I get once in a while. Shameful, I know.

Our favorite of the Bloomington/Normal locations. Usually a little less busy, service good, and clean. Steak and Shake meal is a great deal. You can't beat the shakes. Many awesome flavors. Kids meals free on weekends with adult purchase.

Needed something to tide us overnight as we had just returned from a daytrip to Chicagoland. Went in, a small handful of people this was maybe11pm or so. A concert at the Normal Cornbelters field was getting ready to be over but it was still pretty quiet. We were seated reasonably quickly by the hostess who seemed to want to be anywhere but work. We were checking out the menu when our server 'T' approached and immediately addressed my wife and I as 'Good evening GUYS'. Now, this for a long time has been a pet peeve when dining out and the group being greeted isn't all male. It's just bad form, I know it happens a lot but it shouldn't, period. My wife very politely said 'Just to let you know, he's the only guy here', with a smile. The waitress said, "Oh I'm sorry" and my wife then replied 'just one of those things, you know'.. She replied 'ok". She proceeded to refer to us as guys at least another 6-8 times during our dining. I gritted my teeth and did not want to make another comment as I was not sure what I would say after it already being mentioned once. She took our orders and my wife wanted everything except mustard and onions on the steakburger and I ordered everything but mustard. She repeated that back to us before she wrote it down. While we were waiting, I wanted to add some of the pepper juice from their little bottles to my side of chili (which arrived BARELY warm enough, nowhere near hot like normal). I opened the bottle and was glad I checked before I started to shake some on as the top of the bottle with the little hole was missing under the lid. We got another from a different table. When the server came back by I pointed it out to her and she simply replied 'there's some here like that'. Had I not noticed it would have made my chili inedible. Strike 2, no real concern apparently. A few minutes later our orders are brought to the table and at first glance all looks good, finally an upturn in our experience! I checked under my bun and there was enough mustard for maybe 3 burgers and no onions either. My wife's burger had no onions either. What the waitress said amazed me; she replied 'you ordered everything but onions'. WHAT? She repeated herself and I corrected her and then my wife pointed out hers. They were corrected and were actually quite good once we got over that hurdle. Our meal was to include milkshakes and we made the decision at firs to the flavors and asked that they not be made until we were done with the meal; otherwise they will get put into the freezer until we were ready for them and explained that. It did no good; our glasses came with a thick layer of frost on them. At this point we just tried them and they were good so nothing was said. About now the concert down the road let out and they got very busy but it didn't really affect our experience as we were leaving. This was one of the very few times in the last number of years that a tip was not left, only a suggestion on a napkin to 'please listen when someone asks you NOT to do something like referring to us as 'guys'. Should have added it was bad form to argue with a customer over what was ordered when the waitress read it back as she wrote it down. If it was her fault or the cook, no idea. We will NOT return to this location.
