Well folks....don't even go anywhere else! This place is as close to NYs finest bagelry as you can get. Nice staff will take your order over the phone and have it ready in 20 minutes. They are always out of poppy seed and mini plain so I call ahead! The Beef Pastrami gave me a foodgasm OMG. Buy it by the pound and get your own bread, strangely ,the bread they offer for sandwiches is way below par. Took me three sandwich orders to figure that out...no worries get your favorite roll or BAGEL and enjoy. WOW the best mmmmmmm

This is not the sort of bagel place that has special flavor cream cheeses, or special blends of bagels. This is a no-frills, non-fancy bagel place. They only have a set number of varieties, and its the typical ones -- plain, egg, cinnamon raisin, you get the picture. They don't try to mix jalapenos or five kinds of artisan cheeses in their bagels. Because it is no frills, the price is very affordable -- like $0.70 per bagel, compared to the $1.50 to $3.00 bagels elsewhere. You can never go wrong with their egg or cinnamon raisin bagels either. In summary, if you want a quick simple bagel for breakfast, I would recommend this place. If you want a fancy bagel with fancy cream cheeses, do not go to this place.

Oh, a woman scorned... I'll just acknowledge that the two-star rating is awarded almost exclusively to my negative-star customer service experience. Which was, in my opinion, antiservice. If you work in a bagel shop you should be able to answer, without great exasperation, what kinds of bagels are available. If I'd like my bagel toasted, I'm fine with waiting. Acting annoyed and telling me it will take five minutes is obnoxious. Especially since I'm still recovering from the fact that you don't know (or care) what kind of bagels you have. And lastly, best bagels on the planet? In the greater Chicago area? Maybe my experience tainted the bagel, or maybe having easy access to NYC Bagel Deli (bagelheaven!) has skewed my expectations... either way, I'll give their bagel a 'pretty good' and suggest that you avoid their cream cheese altogether. I'm giving them a second star, because I've been in once before to check the place out (after lunch, wasn't hungry), and the guy behind the counter that day seemed eager to help me.

These are definitely my favorite bagels in the Chicagoland area. I grew up in Skokie, so I've tried a few different places, but none compare to here. (I actually lived near the NY Bagels & Bialys in Skokie and frequented that location, but this place is better!) These bagels, when fresh, have a crispy exterior with a bite, and a soft chewy interior as well. Fantastic!! I love the chewiness factor. It's the kind of bagel that gives you a headache from all the chewing!! =) The place itself is alright- it's a small store with a limited selection of stuff, but what they do serve is all high quality stuff. We've gotten the cream cheeses here that they home make, and they've all been pretty tasty, creamy and smooth. Also we've gotten lox from here and it was pretty fresh from what I remember. Overall, a definite recommend. Looks like I'll be getting the Beef Pastrami during my next trip....

This is the sister shop to the excellent NY Bagels & Bialys in Skokie. These are the best bagels you will eat outside of New York! I don't know what magic voodoo baking technique they have, but no other bagel place can match them for the texture and taste. Onion bagels are my fave, but I also like the cinnamon raisin, egg, poppy seed and blueberry. They also sell their own cream cheese - also top-notch! Jewish deli lovers will also dig their deli offerings: lox, chop liver, blintzes, challah loaf, strudel. Variety of sandwiches - reuben, tuna melt, corned beef, pastrami, roast beef, turkey, tuna salad, egg salad. Portions are generous and everything is FRESH! This place is definitely worth a special trip.

Oh yum, yum and yummy!!!! Warm bagels and fresh cream cheese!!! This place has got the best of both!!!!!!!!!! These are the best bagels that I ever tried. They have different flavor cream cheese too!! A good value for your dollar. You have to look hard for this place - it is in a strip mall.

No bagel can compare to those of NY Bagel and Bialys. When I grew up in Morton Grove, this was THE place to purchase authentic, Jewish bagels. Thirty years later, living in the southwest suburbs, I crave these bagels. A very nice young man, who was working in my home, lives in Niles and I started reminiscing local haunts and NY Bagels and Bialys came up in the conversation. I added to the conversation that "No BAGEL CAN COMPARE because the ones made out here at local places look like the Pilsbury Dough Boy meets steroids or rather the bagels are shot up with radioactive fluffers! The bagels are oversized, soft and white bread fluffy." Well, I know better. So, the next day, when the young man returned to finish the work, he brought me two plain bagels, with a side of their whipped butter. I immediately toasted it, slapped on some butter, and added some Cross and Blackwell Marmalade (the best!) and OMG! HEAVEN! So, what do I do? I am going to make the treck up to Niles once a month and treat my family to the only bagel to eat! BTW I am not Jewish in faith, but LOVE their culture.

OH YUMMY! The best! I was so happy when I discovered this little hole in the wall store, I love the location in Skokie, but it's just too far to drive on a Saturday morning! They have a great variety of bagels, and they aren't the light n' fluffy fair you get at trendy coffee houses, they are the heavy meals that have been around for years! They also have fresh whipped cream cheese that is so creamy and smooth. I was kind of turned off of bagels for a while because they got too light and too big, but these are the traditional bagels I remember eating as a kid and that they also offer other traditional Jewish deli offerings makes NY Bagel and Bialeys that much better!

I like this place. The only thing that grossed me out was the lady that took my money wnet to make my bagel without washing her hands. Besides that I like me the bagels here yo.

hands down best bagels in the chicagoland area. This location in particular is usually not crowded and still delivers the top notch bagel as the others.....also excellent sandwiches and other jewish favorites

I have to say, this place has some of the best bagels I have every tasted. They have about a dozen choices of bagels to choose from here including a Jewish deli. I was here just for a quick bite to eat and got the onion bagel with crme cheese. If you ever want to know what a NY Bagel taste like, this is probably damn close. Nice crispy outside, with a fresh gooey inside. Excellent bagel. Price are a bit high to me (ended up paying $2 for a bagel with crme cheese) but well worth the price. If you're in the area and want to taste some of the best bagels you will ever taste, I highly recommend NY Bagel & Bialys. An excellent 4 star place.

I grew up on NYB&B when they had a NBK location. This is the only place my wife will go for bagels. Its definitely the best Bagel shop in the Chicago area. There are the standard chain Bagels shops near our house, but we must always go here for the craving. They always say to ask the locals where to go. On today's trip to NYB&B the Pace Bus Driver pulled right up to the shop, parked his bus and went in to get a Bagel. That has to be a good sign on just how good they are.

I can't atest to New York bagels spots out east but this is the BEST bagel place within a 300 mile radius of Chicago. AWESOME everything bagel, homemade cream cheese, THE BEST REUBEN on the face of this planet...I can go on and and on and on...GO HERE!
(5)Alexis L.
Great Bagels!!!! These infinitely better than anything I have tasted in Chicago and honestly could compete with NY bagels. So far I have loved everything I have tried and their cream cheese and coffee is very good too! So glad to have finally found a good bagel place- now they just need a location downtown!

YES! Real bagels. Crispy outside, chewy inside, and warm. If I go in to get a dozen I eat one in the car on the way home, nothing on it, it's that good. Salt and poppy is to die for if you are salt crazy like me. Get it toasted, they do it perfectly. Freeze a few dozen if you don't get up to Skokie much. There is really no other place to get bagels in Chicago. This is the only one.
