Great view , Great Food, and the actual restaurant has both outdoor parties to enjoy the river and weather while the inside keeps it classy all year round. I've noticed a couple complaint about the food taking a long time to get to the table but I'd never go to a place as nice as this if I was in a hurry to get in and out or even get my food . Either with a group of friends or dinner with the family this is the kind of place to enjoy the entire river dinner experience and if you don't run into some old friends then you will probably will strike up a conversation and make new friends, The customers are as much of the the reason this place has such a unique fun vibe as the servers and bartenders.

18 of us rode for lunch arriving 11 am. Food delivery was pretty good this time. Much improved from our previous visits. Hopefully this is an indication management/owners have finally fixed their slow food problem. Our waitress was really good waiting on our group. She is a 5 star. Food was good as usual.

Off the beaten path, very nice place with outside bar overlooking Illinois river. Main restaurant was super clean ! We visited at lunch on a weekday so it wasn't very busy. Server was pleasant and prompt. We had appetizer fried GB with wasabi sauce, something different it was good. We are from river town and used to eating fish, I had the buffalo and it was lightly spiced and not over cooked, one of the better fish plates I've had. We will definitely be back to visit and try something off the diner menu. Prices were reasonable.

Very good menu featuring seafood, steaks, prime rib, pasta, salads and sandwiches. I had the Catfish Fritters with hushpuppies and mac & cheez and it was all very good. Service could use a bit of improvement but it is not bad. The restaurant is definitely a "destination spot" as it is located on the scenic Illinois River but it is in the middle of nowhere. The building is brand new and state-of-the-art and one of the nicest places I have seen. It has a huge bar and a huge dining room, Satellite tv's, fireplace, etc. The lower level features outdoor patio next to the river with plenty of seating and a huge firepit. Patio is a great place to relax (anytime)or catch a band (weekends). They also have a small convenience store for the boaters or anyone needing a quick supply. The owners have done a great job developing this property and hopefully it will be a success for them! Although it is hard to find I would definitely recommend this restaurant!! I will be back!!!

Went there this past Friday. What hey have done with this place is Fantastic. Beautiful bar and restaurant area, with an outdoor space underneath. As Tom T stated, this place is smack dab in the middle of nowhere, and you have to know where you are going, (I saw no signs on my drive in). It is stunning though because it is "not" what expect after driving thru Naples. Price were very reasonable for lunch. Now the reason for a 3 rather than a 4 or 5. Service was very slow; our waiter was great, but the wait time for our drinks and food took quite some time. Once we did get our food though, it was a bit disappointing. Ordered the Pony; simple enough but overcooked. The other people in my group all had the same problem; not bad tasting, but all overcooked. I will be back though. Hoping just a bad day in the kitchen. Owners did a great job with the place, (easily the nicest place for many miles). Looking forward to it. Let's hope the River behaves itself for awhile.

We just ate here for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful experience. The original Boatel was a childhood memory of mine as a traditional family favorite. We had the stuffed mushrooms (great) and jalapeño sliders (stuffed with cream cheese and sausage, then wrapped in bacon and broiled, yum!) for apps. I had crab legs and picked a side salad (good sweet Italian house dressing) and mac & cheese (Alfredo like sauce, try it!) for dinner and my husband had crab cakes and the same sides. All was cooked perfectly, good sized portions, and delicious! We were also impressed with prices when all of that came to under $50. Service was also fabulous. We'll be back for sure!
