Weird reviews on this place. We originally were considering Tadka... but couldn't find the place for some reason. It would show up in the GPS and I tried calling for the address. No one answered. Oh well... off to the next joint. I liked the ambiance. We were sat in a nice, secluded booth. Since it was our anniversary dinner, we were happy to have the privacy. The waitstaff seemed nice and did not bother us much. They were attentive and filled our drinks regularly. The food was pretty good. We each ordered a "Special Harvest Dinner"--- another way to say "expensive with lots of items." My husband ordered the Harvest Non-Vegetarian feast. His meal came with two curries (one with lamb, one palak paneer), rice, naan, and a hefty plate of various cooked meats on a fajita plate. He said the meat was dry... but it always is at Indian restaurants. He really liked the lamb curry. I ordered the Harvest Thali -- four bucks cheaper since it's vegetarian. I felt that my husband had quite the deal with all that food and two full sized curries to go with his (at least) 12 ounces of meat. Well, mine came in cups about 1/3 the size of his-- I had two small curries, one small lentil, 3 bites of salad, cucumber/yogurt salad, and a tiny scoop of the cheese dessert. I also had a side of rice and naan. Meh. My curries were SO MUCH SMALLER than his and I got NO meat whatsoever. For $15, I felt it was a bit overpriced compared to his meal and the amount he got. The flavors were good. I wouldn't write home about them, but I'd also return for more in the future. I've never disliked an Indian restaurant, and I didn't dislike this one either. I just wish I got the same size of curries as my husband's meal came with. The naan was exceptional-- better than I'm used to. Do they offer coupons? I don't see us going back to spend another $50 unless we can save a bit. UPDATE on the coupon question I asked myself. I was flipping through my Entertainment Book for the West and South Burbs and there was a coupon for B1G1 entrees! How pissed am I that we paid full price?! AH!

My family and I really like Indian Harvest, especially for the large selection of vegetarian options. The restaurant is clean and well decorated, so it is very nice for a date night or a family night out. The food here is excellent and prepared fresh, so they are at the top end of my experience with Indian restaurants anywhere in the country. (Sorry nothing tops a good curry in London) No reason to drive into Chicago for good Indian food when the best is right here in Naperville. However I will say that service has been inconsistent, when the owner/manager is there things are wonderful, other times the staff is not attentive enough.

Consistently good even on very full nights. Not much variety for south indian dishes, but does cover some basics such as idly and uttapam. Many non-Indian diners throughout make it a (or the only?) favorite in the Naperville area for Indian food. Servers try their best to keep patrons served and happy.

I want to love them, I really do. But I had some problems with my meal last night. My dining companion was very happy with his dish; however, mine left much to be desired. Although Chicken Makhani was not listed on the menu, or at least I couldn't find it, they said no problem when I called to place a pick-up order. The garlic naan smell took up all the space in my car. They do it very well. They did everything well; however, I couldn't tell the difference between the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Makhani. It was only when I tasted it that I could tell the Masala was much spicier and not as buttery, but even then that seemed to be the only real difference. Even that wasn't really a problem. I was a little sad my meal wasn't exactly what I had expected, but it tasted amazing. The thing that put me off was that there was some kind of hard, black pieces in the sauce. I am sure these are for spicing it up, but they are not edible, as far as I can tell, and actually hurt if you happen to try and eat them. That's fine. I pushed them aside - 4 pieces of them. But I couldn't overlook the small bones in my supposedly boneless chicken. That was too much. I'm nomming on my food and then get stabbed in the mouth and gums by bones that should not have been there. I would definitely try eating here again, because everything tasted truly amazing; however, I know that I will need to be on bone patrol and have to check that everything is edible before I shovel it into my mouth. That takes a bit of the fun out of it. But maybe I can make it into a game - A game called "Find the pointy objects before they cut you." Get the naan, get the rice and for the love of all that is holy, get the mango lassi. It was the best part of the meal!

Been here for the lunch buffet, but decided to come here for dinner. I had the chicken tikka masala and my friend had the ghost chili lamb. Both were Delish! But I liked his better. Just a warning you need to order rice with it and bread. Nothing else comes with it. I uploaded a picture of the chicken tikka masala for your convenience. So just to think I would be just eating the chicken masala with nothing else. So everything is priced separately FYI...which can add up quickly. If you order the rice it was enough for two people depending on your appetite. We ordered the garlic naan which was very good compared to the regular naan. Cost $1.50 more to get the garlic naan. I will return to try something different.

I've only been here for the lunch buffet but I highly recommend this restaurant because of this. The food is great and they change out their menu quite regularly so you can try new things. There's quite a variety of food for a buffet so you can sample a lot of different flavors, textures and try new things including desserts. The restaurant is always clean, has a nice decor and friendly, attentive staff. I highly recommend this place.

I had the BEST Indian food I've ever had here earlier this week!! I know it doesn't say much considering I don't really eat spicy and pulled myself through college grubbing on crap indian food from "Naan & Curry" out in Berkeley, CA....but you should know that the two indian guys on my team come here at least once a week -- so I think that's gives it the seal of authencity!! We came with a very large team, so was able to order just about everything on the menu (10+ dishes), below are my favorites: -Havest Combination Platter (Non-Vegetarian) ($9.95) - Assortment of tandoori preparations & vegetable fritters including potato, spinach, seek-Kabab, and vegetable Samosa. Fun sampler for any pallate. -Baingan Bharta ($9.95) - Basically a lightly sweet eggplant curry that's both savory and light -Chicken Korma ($12.95) - Boneless chicken pieces cooked in cashew & almond curry. The chicken is soooo moist, cut into large strips, not like the cubes they used for the Chicken Tikki Masala I ordered (also good, but Korma is much better). -Naan ($3) -- Many flavors, but you HAVE to try the Garlic Naan, and the Kashmiri Naan. Kashmiri one is sweet and stuffed with pineaple, cherries & walnuts -- not like any other naan i've tried. Team comes here every week --- so I'm sure I'll be back!

I have been coming here for many years and always leave completely satisfied. The food is incredible and they have a terrific selection of vegetarian and non options. They moved into a new space maybe 5 years ago and it is decorated really nicely. The thing that keeps me coming back to Indian Harvest is the service, every person that works there is so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Dare I say this is my favorite restaurant in Naperville? I think yes.

Every now and then, I really crave Indian food... But the truth is, Indian Restaurants are abundant, but food is not always to par... With The Indian Harvest you can expect to get a good, solid representation of the top dishes, and never be disappointed... Their Chicken Tikka Masala, without being being the best I've ever had, is really good... Their lunch buffet is great and well garnished... And if you're not in the mood to eat there, you can always pick up!

Not my favorite for Indian food ever but for Naperville this place is pretty darn good. The staff here are always really friendly but not great with giving suggestions. I'm usually between a few things and ask which the server would get and it never seems to help. I get the "they're all good" with a blank stare. Ah well, I'll just have to keep trying them out for myself. I like to sit facing the kitchen window so I can watch as the cooks put things in and pull things out of the tandoori ovens. It's really cool to watch the giant skewers come out and hang... it makes my mouth water for succulent meat again. My BF will usually get a dish that has a little bit of everything and I can tell you, it's a TON of food. Defo enough for at least 2 people. I think his favorite dish comes with lamb, chicken, and HUGE tiger prawns. I'm a veggie person so I spend half the time trying to convince myself that I'm not hungry for that succulent meat. The veggie dishes are okay, I just never seem to have any spice in mine though. The decor is kind of weird, parts of the restaurant allow for a much better dining experience than others. I would recommend asking to NOT sit by the window that overlooks the parking lot; it's not scenic at all. Try to sit in the middle section or the back booths if at all possible.

First off, they have a mold problem. Very allergic to mold, here, and we had to cut dinner short because I was starting to feel ill. Also, cost is definitely not worth it. There's no way a meal in Naperville costs more than twice as much as in NYC while getting less food that's not as good. Also, rice not included with dishes? WTF?

If I could, I would give 3.5 stars, I feel like it's definitely above average, but not my favorite place for Indian food. I ordered take-out from Indian Harvest last week, and sampled the stuffed banana peppers, tandoori chicken, chicken chennai, jasmine rice, and saffron rice. The chennai was best of the bunch, a curry with chiles and coconut milk, it was on the spicy side, very delicious. Additionally, the tandoori chicken was very tender and it came with a fragrant sauce on the side. The saffron rice was rather bland, I would definitely stick to jasmine rice. There was enough rice that came with our entrees that I wouldn't necessarily order a side order. And a testament to the restaurant, my bf, who has never had Indian food, nor is into spicy food, is now a fan. Kudos!

While all other Indian restaurants in and around serve South Indian style food, Indian Harvest caters to my North Indian style food cravings. The food is good if it is not during buffet. I will NOT recommend the buffet lunch. Rather, one should try the food a-la-carte during dinner. Food is OK. Service is OK. Ambiance is nice.

Love this place sooo much. The food, the staff, the ambiance, decorations...all of it! It's really a local treasure in my opinion and I'm happy for them that they were able to expand to this location while keeping their old one. I've commented in many other reviews that some places struggle to divide up the dining room space to make it cozy, inviting and have a sense of fluidity to it. Well, the people at Indian Harvest have done an impeccable job with this. We were floored when we checked out their new space way back when. So pretty. Anyway, the variety of food is awesome here and the quality...oh so good. From their vegetarian dishes, like my alltime favorite Saag Paneer, to their tandoor meats and tikkha masala...you just can't go wrong. And I love that they have a whole wheat bread offering (roti), saffron rice, numerous types of naan and their many other accompaniments. Now, we frequently get takeout because we eat there so much but we really recommend going in to dine. Now that they've started doing some Groupons (awesome!) we'll be hitting the dining in a few more times. Lastly, I'd like to comment and thank the staff and owner. They're all so very friendly, helpful and genuine. We have really enjoyed every person that we've met there. We wish them much success and hope that you have a good experience with them. With an open mind and heart, I think you just might love this place as much as we do. :)

This place has a goodlunch buffet but i was extremely disappointed when i ordered dinner here one night. Vegetable biryani- 1. It didn't taste anything like biryani or even pulao should taste like. 2. It had vegetables in it that had no business being there. 3. The rice was pretty underdone and ended up tasting bad. Also got their veg sampler appetizer- the potato slices were thick and mostly raw inside the pakoras. The outter dough was too thick to tell what vegetable was inside. Maybe they should just stick to lunch and not do dinner if they are going to do a half a*# job..

Decor is nice, waitstaff is nice, and the restaurant does not smell strongly of the cooking spices (and incense) like some of the others. All good things thus far. However, the selection of foods on the lunch buffet is disappointing. There are only about 6 different dishes to try, no samosas, and strangely enough everything was the same color. Not sure if that implies similar spices or not, but everything looked and smelled the same and was a difference of meat or no meat. Either way, we've been to a few places now and continue to find ourselves going back to Cuisine of India (this place does smell of cooking spices and incense). Larger selection of foods and an extremely friendly waitstaff. It seemed a little pricy as well. It was $30 for the two of us for the buffet - and that doesn't include the tip. Ultimately, we won't be going back to The Indian Harvest.

Ate here last week. Very good. I had the keema samosas and bhuna gosht (lamb). Extra tasty. Next time I'll have them fire it up, though. There was no spice.

I recently moved very close to this place, and my girl and I shall be returning. Nice looking insides, courteous wait staff, and great food. I had the tandoori chicken, and it came out audibly (and loudly) sizzling. It was great! Great spices, nice sizzled onions to pop in my mouth with a bite of chicken every once in a while, and the cilantro on it made my night! (Okay, my girlfriend made my night... so the cilantro just gave the meal a really awesome bonus.) It had an excellently smoky taste, and none of the white meat was dry! Score. Oh yeah, and it's pretty much the entire chicken, which is nice for my large appetite. The visit starts out with some free, thin, crunchy shells (ignorance alert: I don't know what the heck they're called) with three different sauces to put on top. Always love that at Indian places (the green one has cilantro too!!). Oh yeah, and the 80's pop music that is played with traditional Indian instruments is a great compliment to the night :P

Indian Harvest is among the best Indian spots in Naperville. However, the food and service are both a little hit or miss. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is excellent, as is their extensive variety of naan. However, they use too much salt. I'll make a special request next time for them to use less salt and see how it goes. The food is altogether pretty good.

No idea why this place is only 3 1/2 star on yelp. The lunch buffet is the best in the area for Indian food. The place is super clean with a glass see through kitchen. The quality, value, and taste is all here. Five star worthy. This restaurant is one of my top 10 in naperville. If you are looking for an amazing buffet for lunch, i would highly recommend giving Indian harvest a try.

Indian Harvest is the best Indian food I have had anywhere. I have been a regular since 2001, and I do not remember any bad meals. The lunch buffet is always delicious, and they have a fantastic selection of dishes for dinner. In particular, I love the Mattar Paneer and Saag Paneer. In addition, the service is always attentive. If you like Indian food, this is a must try restaurant.

I've been a regular customer at The Indian Harvest for many years It is one of the few Indian restaurants that everyone I ever invited to absolutely loved, regardless of their origin. Their lunch buffet selection is good, but the dinner is a real treat with a huge selection of authentic dishes. For dinner I recommend: Appetizers: Dahi Bhalla Main course: Harvest Shrimp Masala or Chicken Harvest Special. If you are not afraid of hot, then try Shrimp Vindaloo (my personal favorite) Drinks: Mango Lassi and/or Masala Tea For dessert: Pistacchio or Mango Kulfi or Rasmalai

Everything we had was delicious. For my entree I ordered the ghost chili lamb dish and it was SO good. I love spicy food more than the average person, and it was the perfect amount of spicy. It was also very flavorful and the lamb was tender. I recommend this dish to anyone that loves spicy food.

Was cravying Indian food for my birthday lunch this year and stumbled onto this place on line. They just moved to a new building in a new strip mall. You can't tell from the outside but this place has a lot of character. Awesome decor and seating areas. There are somewhat private booths in the back...very romantico, a great nook for a private party, and a very cute bar. Went for the lunch buffet. At first didn't think they had enough of a spread out, but turns out I was so stuffed that I couldn't even eat dinner that night. Only thing is the dishes aren't labeled so you'll either have to be brave and try what looks good, or just ask. I feel like an Indian restaurant is only as good as its samosas so I gave there's a try and that's why it got the OK rating from me. Will definitely be coming back!

Great buffet and all was yummy when we went for a non buffet dinner as well. The servers are not always very friendly but not rude either-sometimes they just seem annoyed. Try the mango lassi-delicious! Our go to for Indian food in the area.

I don't claim to be a connoisseur of Indian food by any means, but I could smell the curry wafting out of this place from the parking lot. Not to mention there were a crapload of Indians at this place, and I trust they know what they're doing. Came here for a friend's graduation party, and Indian Harvest did a great job. We even got our own flat screen TV, private entrance, and use of the patio overlooking the artificial creek. There were appetizers and entree's GALORE. I couldn't eat enough of the garlic naan with the Harvest Saag or Paneer Makhan Masala. All the flavors and spices at one time is like a taste explosion in your mouth, so it was good that they provided champagne for me to wash it all down with between bites. My only quips about this place: the service was a little slow as it took a few hours to eat our entire meal. I also wish they were a little less frugal with the AC as it was in the 80's that day. I'd definitely come here with Indian friends again to translate as the music video's on the screen remind me less of Slumdog Millionaire, more like a night at Kit Kat Lounge.

Took my family (5). Everyone had a great meal! The samosas, the naan, the lamb dishes and the chicken were very good. I would have to say the gosht lamb chops were my favorite. Flying Horse lager outstanding! The service was also very attentive. I've come back to this Indian restaurant many, many times over the years. That's the best endorsement I could give any restaurant.

If you think you have to run into the City for outstanding indian food, please try this place? We mix it up with a chicken dish, a super spicy veggie (love the eggplant) dish, and throw in a a Lamb dish too. The lemon rice is absolutely superb. And, it makes for great leftovers in the microwave - particularly at work to agitate the "eeeehhwwwhh you really eat THAT" people who think I'm nuts. LOVE IT.

The food at Indian Harvest is in my opinion one of the best in the Naperville area. It's also very clean and the clientele are a bit more upscale than the other Indian restaurants around. The buffet is ok, not huge. They also took the buffet down without warning so my boyfriend didn't have time to try more food other than his initial plate. The vegetable samosas were good. I'm not a huge fan of their mint chutney because it's very mild and creamy, but it wasn't bad. The eggplant dish was very good and the chana masala was also very good. The prices are relatively much more expensive than other Indian restaurants and the rice is not included. The aloo gobi is delicious. The only thing that I don't care for about the restaurant is how the wait staff treats you. We've been served by the same waitress who seems like she hates her job. She isn't helpful, for example the first time we went to the restaurant she was clearly annoyed that we came for a late lunch at 1pm. This was the day the buffet closed without warning. When I got my food which was from the menu vs the buffet, it just came without rice. You'd think she would have asked me if I wanted rice. So then the order of rice had to be put in and my entree was cold by the time I got the rice. I knew better for next time. It was worth going back because the food is good. Enjoy!

This is one of the restaurants which has been in Naperville for so long. Naperville area is flooded with Indian restaurants. But none is as well run as Indian Harvest. But the amazing thing is they are able to maintain the quality. Some of the dishes tastes exactly how it tasted several years ago. That goes to show that they are treating their cooks really well and are able to retain them. The dishes are flavorful. We use so many spices in Indian cooking. When Indian Harvest prepares the dishes none of the spices is overwhelming. I went to the restaurant on 07/17/12 I ordered my favorite Paneer Butter Masala,Lacha Paratha and Kashmiri Pulav. It was a very very satisfying meal.

If you want to experience awesome Indian food, go to the lunch buffet on Saturday or Sunday. Its great to experiment at buffet time on the wonderful flavors of Indian food. Try a little bit of each item on your first trip and then enjoy a good portion of your favorite! Mine is the chicken meals along with the mango ice cream over oranges. I will definitely be back.

Their food is very tasty and the service is excellent. They are also very accommodating. We once even took a large group of people here and we called them ahead of time (like 15 minutes before they closed) and they stayed open for us. Everyone enjoyed the food.

I really love this place. :) The food is really good, the service is prompt, the decor and tableware is cute, and the manager (owner?) is very friendly!! They have a very nice good quality buffet for lunch and their chicken tikkah masala is just the way I like it! Great naan too. This place is my new favorite go-to for Indian food now! Have been here twice in the last month. :)

Ambiance = A+ Service = A Food = B Let me start by saying that I'm a sucker for any place that pumps in chillout/lounge/electronica music, and when the muzak causes me to whip out my iPhone to Shazam a track, that's a win in my book. Also, we were seated in one of the U-shaped booths all the way to the right of the entrance, which were nice, dimly-lit (another element that I love), and secluded. For an Indian place in a strip mall, I was definitely impressed. The service was also very good. We weren't chained to one server, which was nice, because if someone happened past and noticed we needed a refill, or that our credit card was ready to be run, they took care of it for us. Our server was also very helpful in suggesting items that our 2.5 year old might like in addition to the Garlic Naan (which we already knew she is a fan of). Food, on the whole was excellent, the reason I gave it a B instead of an A or A+, was because of one item in one entree. We ordered the Tandoori Mix, and on the whole, it was awesome. There was, however, a fairly large prawn sitting on top of the heap of sizzling goodness that seemed a little off. The first thing I noticed was the smell... which kind of smelled like wet dog, not good. Not taking the warning sign, I took a hearty bite out of the thing, and in between chewing on the tough, somewhat fishy-tasting meat, noticed a poop-tube that hadn't been cleaned out, that was about as big around as an iPod charging cable (sorry, I was thinking of something to compare it to, and saw one laying on my desk). I'm no expert on shrimp anatomy/physiology/whatever, so I have no idea whether it is ok to eat a few inches of undigested (digested?) shrimp chow, but coupled with the wet-dog smell and not-so-great taste and texture, I decided to take a pass on the rest of it. Everything else though, the naan, the chicken, the lamb sausages, the rice, and the paneer makhani were all great. And a special nod to the samosas, which were the best I've ever had.

lured by Groupon we took the bite. parking not a problem. when you walk in, you are immediately aware of the delish smells coming out of the ktichen that you can actually view! the atmosphere feels relaxed, but white table like. serivce was great and they have a decent wine/beer list. Ok, now the food. We ordered a non vegitarian combo appetizer, that was so good! ate everything on it. Then we did family style -chicken tandoori, a lamb dish and the salmon. All was fantastic, especially the salmon, that was over the top good. we ate great for the four of us, it was plenty of food, no room for dessert! Yes we are going back to try some of the other dishes, so many lamb options, want to try them all.

It's an excellent option in Aurora/Naperville vicinity. The buffet carries usual but good and tasty items. Dinner menu provides much more options and all that we ordered came out nice. Plenty of parking, ambiance was g8, staff was attentive and excellent service/food. Paisaa vasool.

I was in Chicago for the weekend and went out to dinner at this restaurant with a few friends...... The best Indian food ever!!! It's unlike any other Indian restaurants 'cos the food is just like home cooked meals..... Perfect amount of oil and spices...whole wheat rotis!!!! Who can beat that! My fav was the dessert recommended by the owner himself..... Orange Kulfi !!!!! I had never heard of this before, I'm not even a dessert person... But this thing was out of the world...!!!! Anyhoo... Other things I liked was the lamb chops and chana daal. Service was great... Sanjeev, the owner was an awesome guy.... I was glad I took some of his personal recommendations. Oh... Any one heard of Indian wine being good? I'm a French wine snob .... But I tried this Indian wine from sayadhri, Maharashtra and it was quite impressive:-)

I got the veg samosa and jalfrezi, my Bf got a lamb dish that was mild. He really liked the samosa and I thought it was tasty but too mushy in texture. The jalfrezi was intensely spicy, not sure if the cooks were heavy handed just that one time or not but it killed my palate so I didn't eat more 2 mouthfuls. I can handle spice but that was too much for me. Got the Kashmiri naan and pulav, both great. Not a fan of cherry in the naan but overall liked it.

I've had better, and I've definitely had much worse! My husband and I stopped in for a bite here because we were dog sitting in Naper-thrill and I needed to satisfy my weekly craving for Indian Cuisine. I am a bit of bore when it comes to Indian food as I have my favorite dishes - Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Garlic Naan - but this boring behavior gives me the opportunity to compare and contrast the pros & cons of these dishes at many different dining establishments, because no two places make these dishes exactly alike....kinda like Pizza. Anyway, the server was pleasant but didn't understand a lot of english so when my husband asked for a stoli & tonic, she had to find someone else who could understand. And when he asked for a lime she brought a lemon, but citrus is citrus and I won't hold this against her. I had a riesling as I find this type of wine to compliment my spicy food quite nicely. I was a little disappointed in the Chicken Tikka Masala as it was more like a tomato sauce than a creamy sauce with tomato in it - but on the bright side - it was SPICY...not burn your butt off spicy but flavorful with a nice bite to it. The saag paneer was also a little bit disappointing as it was not as mashed up as I prefer and I had a couple bites where the stems were fully intact - not pleasant but again, there was the flavor factor and I was quite pleased with the taste if not the texture. And of course, the Garlic Naan was delicious- I don't think it's possible to mess up Garlic Naan. The prices were on par with other Indian places and if I am ever dog sitting in Naperville again, I will definitely return here.

Indian Harvest was the first Indian restaurant I tried and actually liked. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is fantastic and so is their Naan. At lunch they have a buffet with many choices which also helps cut down on the cost. I've been eating at Indian Harvest since the main restaurant was still in the Veg Harvest Cafe building. This is by far my favorite indian restaurant because it caters to a more diverse group and is thus less spicy. I highly recommend Indian Harvest!

We go here a lot and yet I've never written a review. Ever since we've lived in Naperville, this has been my family's go-to indian. I've been to others with friends, but with the family this has been it. The staff is always friendly and the food is FANTASTIC (and I eat a lot of Indian). Be sure to order the saag paneer at some point and the kashmiri naan too. It's like nothing you will have eaten before. I mean, cherries and pineapple in bread?! Great. I've heard great things about the lamb there as well (as my mother has a sweet spot for it). Sometimes I've had the Harvest Thali. I always really enjoy that. The currys in it are great, you get naan, etc. Great if you're not really sure what to order, along with the Non-Veg Thali. My family has given great reviews on that. I can't really say enough great stuff about this place. If you're on a budget, it's probably not the best, but then again, you don't go somewhere with white table cloths if you're on a budget. Try this place, it won't disappoint!

Having once lived next door to the best Indian restaurant in Washington, DC, when I moved to Naperville, I suddenly felt terribly deprived! Ventures to a couple of other restaurants only resulted in overpriced disappointment. That is, until we discovered Indian Harvest. Yes, the dinner menu is a bit pricey, but so was our old fave in Washington. Indian Harvest, though, offers a truly excellent, economical buffet with plenty of standard fare (chicken tikka, daal, saag paneer, baingan bharta) as well as some surprises (goat curry). Go for the weekend buffet. Indulge. Get your Indian fix like we did.

Have only tried the lunch buffet but it was good - all the standard favorites. Very filling. Not very spicy, I could have used a bit more chili. When we arrived we waited for service and they finally told us it was buffet and to help ourselves. They automatically bring a huge plate with (I think) a quarter chicken, so mention off the bat if you're vegetarian - one of my friends recoiled at the totally wasted dish full of meat.

Food was good but seemed overpriced. For our "normal" order we paid $10-20 more than our usual restaurant. It seemed to take forever to order too, we probably had 3 people waiting on us.

I used to swear by this place but a couple of bad experiences have made me rethink my earlier assessment. My first bad experience was a few nights ago where we decided to try the dinner menu instead of the buffet...big mistake! The dinner prices were on the high side, but it wasn't a big deal... we decided to go ahead anyway. We had Saag paneer and Chicken Vindaloo. After ordering the waiter adds, do you want rice with the dishes? Apparently the dishes don't come with rice!!! So if you don't order rice, you a get a bowl of sauce with a few nuggets of cheese or chicken for 12.95 and up. Who ever heard of Indian food that doesn't come with rice? To make matters worse, the rice was $3.95 for a meager bowl that we could hardly share, of course the food portion was tiny as well so maybe they thought the rice was enough. We wrote it off as a bad experience and decided that we should stick to the buffet next time. 2nd bad experience...My wife's b-day yesterday. She wanted the buffet. We were the first people in the door...everything looked fresh and delicious. We had lunch, and then come yesterday evening for her birthday...she had food poisoning, and she's 8 months pregnant!!! Definitely NOT a good thing! The kitchen didn't look very clean through the glass but it always looks like that. We've never been sick before, so we just overlooked it. Sadly, I think that we will not go there anymore. Who wants a pregnant wife up all evening/night with a severely cramping stomach and the runs anyway? ON HER BIRTHDAY! It could have been potentially dangerous to her and also to our unborn. Shame on you Indian Harvest Restaurant for being disgusting. Now we have to find a different Indian restaurant.

Not the worst or the best place for Indian cuisine. Good enough for a quick meal, but if you want top notch Indian, this is not the spot.

I really like The Indian Harvest. Been there for lunch and dinner. Lunch buffet is good - the restaurant offers only 8-10 dishes, but they are all very tasty and fresh. Selection changes slightly from day to day so you will not get bored. Unbeatable for the price. Dinner is also good and so is selection of wines. Service very nice. Overall, I recommend this place to ppl who like indian food.

Tried this place twice, and the second time, we were so unimpressed, that we wont be going back. there is nothing special about the food. this is your typical suburban ethnic restaurant, luring those who crave the food, but dont want to drive into the city.

This is our favorite Indian place in Naperthrill. We usually get take out from here. When we've eaten in the service is a bit slow. I think the naan is great and I like the saag paneer and pindi chana. I'm not an Indian food expert but this always hits the spot.

I wanted to try something different. Rather than stick with Italian, I went Indian. But, I was so dissapointed. This restaurant is really close to my house, so I figured I'd give it a try. First, my waitier was awful. I initially had no idea he was my waiter because he never introduced himself. I realized he was my waiter because he was lurking. I've only had Indian food a few times, so I wanted some guidance, but didn't get any. And, what he did suggest - a very sweet nan - almost made me sick because it didn't complement my meal. While I was waiting for my lurking waiter I overheard a couple say, "I guess we'll have to eat when we get home." I was hoping they were kidding. They weren't. I ordered a chicken entree (which cost $12) that had very little chicken or anything else in it. And, I didn't realize I should be ordering from all of the different categories (again, terrible waiter) and my meager portion of chicken was not enough to fill me up. I had a beer, nan, my chicken and a dessert which cost more than $26 for just me. I cannot recommend this restaurant. I wouldn't visit again.

i may never have been to india, and i may ask for advice on indian food on occasion, but i am definitely a fan and try different places on a regular basis. after 1 take-out try i really really like this place. i ordered lamb vindaloo & aloo tikki tonight, and my mouth is still tingling with delight. the take-out was as quick as i'd hoped and from the looks of the inside of this place, i'd definitely dine in.

I used to love this place. We would eat there for dinner often. But last week we got take out for our office group and quickly realized they put MSG in their food. We never noticed before because we would always just come home and go to bed, however, trying to finish the rest of your day after eating a meal with MSG is TOUGH! Never again.
I would say they are not bad purely based on the ambience but I have had a very mixed experience in terms of their food. Today, I ordered to pick up a Saag Paneer dish; turned out to be a bad experience. I had asked the dish to be made hot and spicy . What I got was a dish with lumps of uncooked/raw red chilli powder in my mouth. This is really appalling, these are the basics of Indian cooking, that you COOK THE SPICES, esp red chilli powder!!!

Have you ever had one of those terrible and crazy busy days where you somehow managed to go from 6am to 9pm on two venti iced coffees and hope? Yeah I had one of those last week and ordered enough food from Indian Harvest to feed forty people as a result. the delivery was SUPER fast (when is Indian food delivery fast?! I was impressed) and hot, and the bag was teeming with delicious smelling goodness. I started with an order of the Keema Samosa, which was deep fried and FULL of ground lamb (not a lot of filler) and spices. It came with two sauces - a gross red one and a delicious and refreshing green one, and the samosas themselves were HUGE. Then I had chicken curry, which was just spicy enough (I'm kind of a spice wuss) and very flavorful. The rice was a little bland, but since I doused it in the delicious curry sauce, it was edible. I ordered a garlic naan and an aloo paratha to eat alongside the curry and it was good, but WHOA garlic. Like pieces of garlic. Like chewable garlic. Not my favorite. We capped off this monster order with Galub jamun, which was the standard sticky sweet fried goodness galub jamun typically is. My hubs and I are till we were bursting and had food leftover, so the portions are quite generous. Next time I'd ditch the garlic naan, but other than that, I'd definitely order again.

I like Indian Harvest. As far as the food goes, I really like it. I love their Korma dishes and their curry. I could make a meal of just naan. While I do find their staff to be friendly, I find the service to be slow and inattentive. Slow refills....little service after food has been delivered...slow to receive the bill....slow to collect the $$.... Just SLOW. It's nearly impossible to get out in less than 90 minutes even when there are orders for only two. It is enough of a nuisance that I go to Masala instead, despite Indian Harvest being much, much closer.

Awesome place, the food and the service is excellent. They have a pretty extensive menu and everything from it is great. I personally recommend their lamb dishes. I do wish there was a bit more meat on the plates but then again I'm always hungry ;)

Great, flavorful Indian food. We came here for the buffet lunch today (after stopping by Binny's...they're both in the same shopping mall!) and we definitely will be back. I was also expecting a huge bill after eating myself full of wonderfully tasty and authentic indian food, but no such thing (for 2 lunch buffets the tab was just under 28 after tax). I will say the chicken 65 (?) was a bit dry but other than that, the rest of the food was amazing. I will have to admit though, I did find a hair in the mango flavored ice cream. That put an abrupt stop to my food shoveling.

This restaurant is by far my favorite indian restaurant. I went here for the first time and was totally pleased with the service and food. My mother does not eat onions and potatoes and chef offered to prepare a special dish for her. Chef came out to ask my mother if she was pleased with the dish. Owner came and stopped by at the table to make sure everything was ok. I think it's the personal touch to the service makes a restaurant a great place to eat. Paneer Bhurjee is a must try dish. Great variety of naans anIf you have a sweet taste then do try Kashmiri naans. Those are my husbands favorite. We order it on the spicier end and it was totally mouth watering. Definitely coming back.

They charge a 20% "service fee" for carryout orders. I didn't see anything about it on their website and wasn't told about this prior (they had contact information at time of order and didn't try to contact me). In past I've dined-in here, so I wasn't aware they do this. Pretty good food as others have stated. If you have a Groupon discount you'd like to redeem at this place, do not order online. I ordered online and mentioned in the "notes" of the order that I would be bringing a Groupon discount (and the details of the discount). When I arrived at The Indian Harvest and attempted to redeem the Groupon discount, the employee at the register said I would have to call some 1-800 number to have the transaction cancelled so he could re-bill it there. They use a 3rd party for their online order service and that company also gets a cut of each online order. So I was forced to stand there for about 10-15 minutes as my food got cold so I could call their online order company to cancel the transaction (good thing I had unlimited minutes on my cell phone plan). Pretty awful service.

I came here a few times and have to say this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the Illinois area. The food is always so fresh. We came here with a large group and ordered the following: -samosas - the spices are mixed into the potatoes very well -Paneer Shaslik - ordered this as an appetizer. it's good but it wouldn't be one of the dishes I would order every time -Paneer Makhan Masala - must order -Malai Kofta - it's an ok dish. not sure if I would order it next time I go -Baingan Bharta - I don't like eggplant much at all but this is one of my fav dishes Their naan is very fresh and they bring everything out so quickly. I also had their chicken dishes in the past and they're good as well! Can't wait to go back.

Just found my fave Indian place in DA NAPE. Didn't really have high expectations for Indian food in the burbs but this place was great! Located in a strip mall, the decor is nice and fairly clean, and polite service. We came with a Groupon and they accepted it for the buffet lunch on a Saturday. I think it was around $13/pp. The buffet had typical salad bar, around 15 dishes. I enjoyed this buffet because there were non-typical items I've never seen at other Indian buffets, such as: pav bhaji (type of tasty indian sandwich), fried fish, and different vegetarian dishes. The buffet also comes with tandoori chicken and a basket of fluffy naan. Everything tasted great (some a little salty but thats typical), and seemed liked good quality. Definitely stop by Indian Harvest, I will definitely be back!

Well we did not eat there so this isn't a food review but one about service and information! I called ahead on Saturday inquiring about the buffet lunch which takes its last seating at 2:45. I had guests driving out to Naperville from Chicago and thought the buffet would be great for varied tastes, but I knew we were strained for time, ergo the phone call. I was told the last seating would be at 2:45 and the restaurant would close at 3pm for any additional settings until dinner but that we would be welcome to the buffet at 2:45. We arrived at 2:40pm and the doors were locked and we were told they were closed! The waiters opened the doors and discussed back and forth about getting permission to let us in, etc. but we chalked it up to a wasted trip! Get it together!

This place has a romantic setting, and nice staff. My problem was the price and the quality of the food. I tried a sample of their appetizers..it was arranged nicely but everything was fried and dry. My main course was cooked really well but lacked some spice. However their Naan bread was good. I went to this place with a Groupon. ..it was still price.

My wife and I ate here last night. Ordered their tandoori special and another non-veg special. The meats were dry and seemed like they were pre-cooked and then recooked again. It also seemed like the chicken was first grilled and then refried to serve warm same with the lamb minced kabobs. Have eaten here many times before and the food has been fine. The best meals I've had here are their Saturday/Sunday buffets. They seemed to be prepared fresh vs reheat. I would not recommend anything tandoori. Not sure they know how to cook authentic tandoori which by the way is cooked in a clay oven and never fried.

I am a fan. The service is good and the food in great. What really sets this place apart, for me, are the two owners. These men are cordial and as good natured as can be. One of the owners noticed how much I love the rice pudding and brought me a container to take home. When anyone asks me where to go for Indian food, this is the only place I send them. Great guys!

Friendly staff, nice decor and tasty food. We had vegetable samosas, makhani chicken and tandoori chicken - garlic naan - all delicious! We decided to finish with a dessert and our very knowledgable waiter advised us to split one order of orange kulfi. It was delicious too and could have taken care of 4 people quantity wise. We came in on a Groupon and will definitely be back.

Always wanting to try something new and not a big fan of chain restaurants, Indian cuisine has been on my TO DO list. Naperville has plenty of Indian restaurants, but the Indian Harvest was rated well and very close to where I needed to be after dinner. IT WAS THE BEST! The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The menu was easy to read and understand, but the staff explained what everything was. We had a lamb/kemma samsoa and a mixed tandoori grill. Both were scrumptious. The kebob entree was huge. We split it and still had plenty of leftovers. The IH does have full bar service. We ate very early on a Saturday night (5:30 p.m.) This meal is an experience. If you are in a hurry, this is probably not your best bet. Request a booth, very private. I will definitely go back to IH.

In my last 10 years of living in naperville I ate many times in harvest. Their buffet has very limited items compare to other places but it is excellent. Tandoori chicken and goat curry is my top pick in lunch buffet. The food is prepared here with neutral/mild spice level for common audiance. That is one of the reason we see lot of non-indian crowd liking this place. It is a great place but I took the previlage to comment on one thing i did not liked in this place. I feel their dinner is not up-to-the mark. I tried different curries... Over all not impressed with their dinner. Many of my friends have the same opinion this place is great for buffet not great for dinner. We used to go here with family almost every friday for dinner and now only go for lunch no dinner. Most of the curries taste like pasta sauce in the dinner. It looks to us the tomatoes are grinded to add to the curries instead it is typically be satayed with oninon(called tatka in indian) to enhance the flavour. This grinding make the different curries taste the same now. I love to go for their lunch buffet but not for the dinner.... +5 stars for lunch...-1for dinner. Good - Buffet, Goat curry, Chicken Tantoori and non-veg platter. Bad - Chicken dishes in dinner menu.

First tme with Indian food. All very good. Buffet was perfect for novices like us (although we did have help from aquaintances). Enjoyed all the chicken dishes; really like the spicy chicken and the honey milk balls that I forgotten the name. Staff was attentive but no bothersome at all. Nice place to go. Will go back again on our own and explore some more dishes.

Went here because of the yelp reviews. Food was very, very bland. First time I have ever gone to an Indian restaurant and had to put salt on my dishes. It is price way to high for the food. Won't be back.

Are you a kabob connoisseur ? This is the best place to try kabobs.

We will not go back. Not thrilled with the food. In fact, we walked out walked out with a doggie bag full, that later went in the trash. The Appetizer platter (non-veg) was simply a plate with everything fried dumped on it and piled high. The non-veg "feast" ended up being the ground meat kabob that was on the app platter, chicken, more chicken (tandori which was the only decent thing) lousy lamb (no idea how you make lamb dry and grizzly in an oily sauce) and palak paneer which had to be sent back because it was served cold. The goan (spelling?) fish was awful. It tasted like they overcooked salmon some time earlier in the day and just dumped it in a poorly cooked sauce. We LOVE Indian food for its richness and they way sauces are cooked as to marry the many spices. We had none of that here.

Average food... I ate vegetarian dishes... Mutter Paneer, Stuffed Potatoes from the grill... Pretty standard fare and yet the dishes were barely ordinary. Ok if you are an out of towner dying for some Indian food.

My business partner and I have become regulars here for lunch. Indian Harvest is such a welcome departure from the standard fare Naperville generally has to offer. The name says it all; Indian food, fresh and bountiful. The lunch buffet is excellent and a decent variety that changes a bit by week. The kitchen (seen through the large window behind the buffet) is absolutely spotless. The place is pleasantly quiet. The staff and owner are very accommodating and friendly. Even the chef/cooks are friendly. Try it because there's basically nothing that will leave you wanting. You'll be back. Particulars: one thing we have not tried is dinner. Indian Harvest is on the short list of places to try in the evening.

The food here is AMAZING! This was only our second time experiencing Indian food and this is probably the only place we will go! The chicken tikka is life changing! The naan is phenomenal! I read a previous review about the basmati rice and I strongly disagree that it doesn't have flavor. It was SO GOOD! I will be recommending them to everyone I know! The owner and waitstaff was so nice and helpful in their suggestions. If you're new to this cuisine like we were try the #37. It is more than enough for 2 people and we eat a lot!!! Check this place out! You won't be disappointed!

So this place was a tad over hyped to me, but it's still good. Def the best in the Naperville area... I came for the chicken tikka masala expecting the world's best, but it was honestly just okay. They have decent biryani though. Everything was just super spicy though. Prices are average, but for the amount you get, I say it's good. Most other places only give you very little and charge the same price if not more. I got carry out so not sure about dining in, but the place looked nice.

Increasing to 5 stars...Quality of food consistent for buffet on second visit. Found the staff attentive, friendly owner. Desserts were good- not TOO sweet, just right. There is something comforting about this place. I'll be back to try the dinner menu. Highly recommend.

Been going to Indian Harvest for close to ten years and found many things to like. Probably wise to point out that this restaurant is a good option for people who are just being introduced to Indian cuisine. The lunch buffet is solid if unspectacular and a good two or three person option on weekends. Where I have been very pleased is with the Thanksgiving buffet, which was a lovely departure from American traditions. Bring your sense of adventure and enjoy the craftsmanship of the dining areas while you eat. I miss the old location a little with the hand drawn murals on the walls but still love the spices, most of the chicken dishes and the garlic naan. Consider bringing friends and visiting when it is quieter (lunch on the weekends, American holidays).

Best Indian food I have ever had. The food is spiced perfectly, you can truly appreciate the depth of flavors used in indian cuisine. The waiters are attentive but not intrusive and it has a nice romantic/intimate atmosphere. Come for the lunch buffet to really get a deal. Sit in one of the booths in the back.

I'm still in a learning process when it comes to Indian food. Most of the time, I have no idea what I'm eating, but I know whether I like it or I don't. At Indian Harvest, I like it . So my boyfriend took me here on our first date. *awww* I was totally skeptical, having never consumed Indian food outside of the chicken tikka masala in London. We were seated in a cute little booth way in the back hallway, out of the way of the world. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a wonderful meal and get to know each other. I honestly couldn't tell you to save my life what we ordered (Mostly because of the names of the dishes and I just order things that sound good...). I had some shrimp dish, and he had something with lamb. We ordered the non-veggie appetizer combo, which was awesome but HUGE! We had the garlic naan which was delightful. The wine selection was nice and the servers were pretty awesome as well. We went back a few months ago with a Groupon, and the food was just as great. We weren't seated in a cute booth, which was disappointing, and the service didn't seem as high quality. I felt like the female server we had on our first visit was incredibly attentive, but the male server in the second visit was SUPER slow. We were trying to make a movie, and it took almost 45 minutes to leave from the time we asked for the bill. I would give them 3.5 stars if I could, but alas, a 4 star rating is all I can provide.

After having what could possibly be the worst Indian meal of my life tonight in Denver, I was compelled to look up Indian Harvest in Naperville, IL (I used to live in Wheaton for years) and write a quick review. Because the food is just really, really good. Service is great. Ambiance is terrific. I wish I could find a place like Indian Harvest here in Denver, but so far it's a no go. When I pay a visit to Chicago I will most definitely be returning to this little gem of a restaurant, and until then --- covet, covet.

I have only been to their lunch buffet several times, and I have always enjoyed it. It's pretty standard fare and it's not massive, but it is generally high quality, the restaurant is clean and the service is always courteous. What more could I ask for! I also enjoy seeing into the kitchen and watching my naan being made. It isn't the most stunning naan I've ever tasted, but it's fresh and this most recent visit, it was fluffier and more tender than usual. Yum. I particularly enjoy their idlis. A great lunch spot!

I've been here many times. I mostly come for the lunch buffet, but I've also been a few times for dinner. At lunch, the buffet isn't extensive, but it's quite good quality. Like most Indian buffets, they bring fresh tandoori chicken and naan to your table. They typically have a couple different types of rice and then six or so entrees along with some appetizers, salad, chutneys, and desserts. The buffet is a bit pricey, but I'll happily pay it for the quality of food. I love the chicken tikka masala there. For dinner, the food is even better than the buffet (as you'd expect). It's some of the best Indian food I've had in the area. I'm partial to the spinach dishes, so I typically go with Chicken Saag. My wife typically gets the Chicken Chennai which is nice and spicy. The entrees are a bit pricey ($13ish), but very reasonable considering the quality. Plus you can sometimes find a groupon or yelp deal. Also, if you have a big group, you can sometimes get a large table in the other room. Just call ahead and ask.

Decent food, but I'm confused by all the supporters? Granted the food here is okay. Nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about. I've come here on occasion for lunch when I'm in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here and there are other good Indian options in the area. However, the other reviews are giving me pause... perhaps they are just inconsistent and have better days? I personally, still not all that impressed. The location is a bit surprising, I didn't expect to find a restaurant buried in what I would have thought was a residential area. So if you're thinking you'll just hop right onto it off 59, just make sure you don't turn around too quickly. Overall, if you're in the area it's a good lunch location, but not a place you need to go out of your way for (check out your other options).

I'm note sure why it took so long for us to try Indian Harvest, but a Groupon offering finally enticed us. They have very good, flavorful, and generous offerings, and I'd rate the place at about 4.5 stars. We had their Indian Harvest special dinner - a mix of 3 different chicken offerings (one Tandoori), lamb sausage, and grilled shrimp. We also had their fish (salmon) masala, and the pineapple-cherry naan (amongst several flavors to choose from). Dinner came with white basmati rice and a bowl of lentil sauce. It was all good, but the fruity naan as well as lamb were real highlights. The fruity naan made the regular naan that came with dinner relatively bland by comparison however. We'll be back sometime to try some of the other flavored naans, which were both creative and tasty. The masala was quite nice, once we realized we needed to stir the settled spicy sauce a bit with the fish chunks. Water service was attentive, but food delivery was a little on slow side. The restaurant is divided into 3 different seating areas, and one private room. They also have a relatively large banquet room off to the side of main dining area. They also have a window for viewing some of the open kitchen cooking. Like it or not, with all the fragrant spices being used, you'll come out with your clothes smelling as such. It's a small price to pay for the good eats here though, and we shall most definitely be back.

Very good food especially chicken tikka masala but every time I come here they seem to forget about you for long periods of time. The woman asked how everything was after 20 min of us eating. I was done at that point and then she rushed off before I could ask for the check. Then we waited around 15 minutes and then the owner guy finally noticed us. I waited more than I spent time eating. Not sure if I'll come here again.

I really enjoy this place. I eat lunch here about three times a month. Working from home I need to get out for lunch to clear my head and get a good meal and Indian Harvest is one of my go to places. It is quiet and the staff are very polite and respectful of my space giving me time to decompress. The food is excellent. The buffet never disappoints and the choices are always changing. I never know what I am going to be eating until I arrive and I am always happy with the selections.

Excellent food (period)! Ok, exclamation point. :) My husband and I are lucky enough to have Indian friends who cook well and so we usually get our fill from get-togethers with them. But those friends have since relocated and so our quest for Indian cuisine began. Last night we were pleasantly surprised to discover Indian Harvest. It's a nice restaurant ambiance wise and an even better one food wise. Service from the entire wait staff was also great. Our waiter was pleasant and was able to make suggestions when asked. Did not get the standard reply of "Depends what you like", while avoiding making any suggestion at all (which is very irritating). Our meal consisted of the following: Chicken Harvest Special (tender boneless pieces of chicken cooked with chopped onions and tomatoes, green peas and laced with coconut milk) Chicken Lahsuni (Boneless pieces of tandoori chicken marinated in garlic paste with blended spices) Peas Pulav (Basmati rice cooked with peas & flavored with saffron) Garlic Naan We loved every bit of the food we had. The serving size of each dish above was reasonable except for the Chicken Harvest Special (which was on the small side). This is where the ding comes in. For the price point on the main dishes, I would've expected a little more heft on that one dish AND would've expected either the naan or rice to be included. Thus, the minus 1 star. However, that still does not take away from what we went there for -- good Indian food. That we got in aces! So yes, we'll definitely be back. Just not quite as often as we'd like for someone on a budget.

Hands down the best Indian in Naperville. The quality varies so much in Naperville. Some places places... you gotta wonder what goes on in the kitchen. Open kitchen is nice. My wife and I stopped here for an early dinner. We were encouraged by the good reviews on Yelp, as well as the delicious aromas that met us as we walked in the front door. Unfortunately, this restaurant fell a bit short of expectations. The menu contains a fair selection of vegetarian and meat entrees. There appears to be a setup for a lunch buffet, which does not appear on offer during dinner hours. My wife and I both ordered the vegetarian thali, which comes with three curries, rice, salad, raita dressing, and one ball of gulab jamun for dessert. GOOD: Service was extremely friendly and prompt. We were well taken care of, and never had to hunt for waitstaff. The food tasted fresh. Particularly noteworthy was the Baingan Bharta, which had a rich spicy flavor slightly better than what we've experienced elsewhere. Our dishes were served on clean and shiny metal tiffin trays, along with a shared basket of naan. SO SO: $15.95 was maybe $1 or $2 more than we'd expect to pay for a smaller vegetarian thali, but perhaps appropriate for the area. The sag paneer and dal both tasted under-seasoned. (This surprised us, given that some reviewers had complained the food was too spicy. I wish non-spicy food eaters would stop writing reviews for Indian restaurants. You are ruining it for the rest of us.) BAD: Most unfortunately, Indian Harvest is one of those uncommon Indian restaurants that uses an abundance of butter in their cooking, instead of the ghee you would more commonly expect in an authentic Indian restaurant. This has the effect of making the food taste richer, but also a bit heavier than it should. If you are lactose intolerant -- DO NOT eat here. Most other Indian restaurants don't use butter so much. If you do not like bland food -- consider going outside of Naperville the next time you want to have Indian. I may return to this restaurant someday to try their lunch buffet, as well as their meat offerings. But given the other options available, I'd be more inclined to go elsewhere.

I came here with a friend on a Friday night around 7:30 pm. There were maybe 3 other tables of families there when we went. We got seated at a booth in the corner by the door to the kitchen. The restaurant overall looked pretty nice. The decor and booths were pretty. I got the chicken tikka masala with paneer bread. My friend got the chili chicken masala with basmati rice. We had to purchase the rice and bread separately for $3.50 each which we thought was ridiculous for a place like this. My dish itself was already $14. With tip and tax, my total was $22... Waaaaaay too expensive for Indian food. It cost a few dollars in India for a meal like this... The sauce in my dish was very sweet which was unusual. I was not a fan and my friend agreed. My paneer bread was just ok- nothing special- could not really taste the cottage cheese. My friend did like her chili dish though. The service was good. The server was really nice and the bus boy came to refill our water quite often. I probably would not go back again... I did not enjoy the most common Indian American dish and thought everything was overpriced.

One of my all-time favorite Indian restaurants. We often get takeout but I must say..eating there is better so that everything is fresh. Garlic naan is the best I've ever had (again, best when eaten right away). Chicken byrani & Chicken tikka marsala are amazing as well, you can tell they are using fresh ingredients & put a lot of thought into the cooking. If you are debating between this or the other Indian restaurant on Ogden...go here. The other place does not even compare to this one.

I often crave Indian food, but not many of my friends enjoy it. I hit the jack pot recently when my dad agreed to go with me to try Indian Harvest. I discovered this place on Groupon, and it was one of the Indian places in the area with the highest reviews. Before walking in around 6:30 on a Friday, the place didn't appear too busy, but more people started coming in soon after. I was very impressed with the wide selection of both food and wine on the menu. I started off with one of their Chardonnay's, and it was a great choice. Too bad I forget the name of it, but was still a perfect springtime wine. For food, I started off with their tomato soup. When choosing a main dish, I focused in on their lamb dishes. I ended up getting the Achari Gosht, and it was a great choice. I didn't realize it would be as spicy as it was, but it was perfect since I was still at the tail end of a cold. The dish helped clear out my sinuses. Please note, that this restaurant does not include rice with the main dishes, so you will have to order this separately. One order of rice is enough for 2 people, and possibly 3 if that third person isn't eating too much. I ate most of my Achari Gosht at the restaurant, but enjoyed leftovers for lunch the next day. I think this place will be my go to for Indian food when I am in the Naperville area.

BEST EVER tandoori chicken, tikka masala, northern curry, saffron rice, gajar halwa, naan, aloo tikki, and sweet rosewater lassi - took my husband here for his birthday and Indian Harvest became our favorite place for Northern Indian cuisine! The restaurant is pretty, with large sunny windows and simple, golden atmosphere. The delicious smells of the food greeted us right in the doorway and we honestly struggled over how many dishes sounded amazing vs how much we could realistically eat. And believe me, by the end of our meal, there wasn't a single grain of rice or crumb of naan to carry home. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it! We went for the lunch buffet. I really liked how it was set up because I personally haven't had much experience with this cuisine. There was a nice variety to choose from and everything is labeled with a simple description. I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about trying it!

This place is a little hard to find but once you arrive at it there is no mistaking the aroma and spices of indian cooking. The items I would recommend are hunter chicken and the rogan josh... the service takes a while but since they gave us a nice area to sit, I would give them the benefit of the doubt... ambiance is great as well.

Not writing this feedback because we are fed up with the service (not to mention that quality was bad) but need to make sure that our fellow brothers are not feeling the same pain of waiting for 1 hour.. My family is waiting since last one hour and still no food. Moreover owner says, why you didn't told me earlier.. Seriously.. Come ON. Boss think what are you talking.. Anyways, long story short, think before you want to come here and ruin your evening.. All the best INDIAN HARVEST... Thanks for feeding us today :)

I am so tired of winter and being too lazy to get my own food, especially when I have lots of places within walking distance. That being said; I'm cold, lazy, tired, and cranky so I didn't feel like trying to scrounge around for dinner. I've been craving Indian food and even though we are blessed with the OMango food truck once a month at work, I know I won't feel like standing out in the cold when it arrives. Indian Harvest is the only place on GrubHub that delivers in my immediate area, so I gave it a shot. I placed my order about twenty minutes after five, with a delivery window of 6:20 - 6:30 p.m. Again, like any order I place online, I made sure to give good directions for the driver and kept my fingers crossed I wouldn't have to guide any lost souls over the phone. My order consisted of Chicken Tikka Masala (white meat is an extra $2.00), Garlic Naan, and a side of Basmati Rice. My phone rings at 6:05. Damn it! Turns out the driver was just sitting outside my building... but at least he found the right one. The Basmati rice (why oh why did I order extra when a large portion already comes with the meal?) was a bit of a disappointment; I would have expected something with more flavor but there was absolutely none. I suppose since you'll be covering it with sauces and such it doesn't matter. The Garlic Naan was huge and oh so flavorful. I'm a fan! The Chicken Tikka Masala was good. Not great, not terrible... just good. The chicken pieces were larger than I expected; it feels like you get less when you've only got about 8 large nuggets floating in sauce. The dish definitely wasn't as spicy as I would have liked. Onions (and also lettuce and tomato) were provided on the side for the CTM. I also received two containers of sauces with my order; one was dark red and the other a lighter green. Experience from Mexican food told me the green would most likely be the mild one. It smelled like cilantro and looked kind of like a pesto. It was good, but I didn't put any on my food. I tasted the red one, which (surprise!) was sweet and not at all spicy. I'm looking forward to my leftovers but I'm not sure if I'd do delivery again. Seeing as how I spent $37 (food for one, three items ordered, and delivery), the "wow" factor wasn't there to justify the price. I'd try them one more time in person, especially for the garlic naan!

Tried the pindi Chana tonight. Totally unexpected and wonderful flavors: clove, cardamom and nicely spicy. Very well done! Still my favorite restaurant!

Food was good and reasonably priced. I had Chicken Tikka Masala and my hubby had a vegetarian dish l don't know the name of it. My real name is Nadia and I am the one who made a reservation. I am answering Sanjeeve's question. I told you that I like my dish spicier and you told me I could have asked for when ordering which I didn't know. Next time!

Well - the food might be good. But only if they give it to you. Last time I was here, waited for an hour after ordering. This time - been 40 minutes. Enough time for me to create a yelp account just to write this review. And the kids want me to write that they are getting restless. Ok - got the food now. It's pretty good. Not so spiteful and cranky anymore, upgrading my rating.

India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

(4)Jessica D.

(4)Theresa D.

(5)Laurence P.
(4)Candice G.
(4)Wren R.
WTF?
(1)Sara D.
Kudos!
(4)Subz F.

(5)Sam B.
(2)R P.
Ultimately, we won't be going back to The Indian Harvest.

good lunch buffet

(4)Mark B.
Good food. Very reasonable lunch buffet. Special touch: chef came out to check on us! Nice!
(4)Bridget D.
(3)W Q.
(5)Konrad S.
(5)Nick K.
(5)Ava C.

(3)Sarah I.
Had the butter chicken. Very fatty meat. The customer service was mediocre.
(1)Jess S.
Great buffet and all was yummy when we went for a non buffet dinner as well. The servers are not always very friendly but not rude either-sometimes they just seem annoyed. Try the mango lassi-delicious! Our go to for Indian food in the area.
(4)Catherine X.
(4)Mike D.
(5)Will C.

Best Indian food I've had in the Chicago area.

(4)Kathryn G.
Absolutely LOVE the food. One of the best indian places around the Plainfield/Naperville area. Service is always top notch.
(5)Lochin S.
lured by Groupon we took the bite. parking not a problem. when you walk in, you are immediately aware of the delish smells coming out of the ktichen that you can actually view! the atmosphere feels relaxed, but white table like. serivce was great and they have a decent wine/beer list.
(5)Usnycus U.

(5)MeLissa H.

(3)Shannon H.
(5)Marijke W.
(5)Ernesto S.
(4)B. D.
Been coming here for nearly a decade. Excellent food. The butter chicken is out of this world. I will drive all the way out from Bolingbrook to get my grub on here. Great owners. Great food. Excellent buffet and the combos give plenty of food to share.
(5)Gayathri S.
We did our son's Bday party in Indian Harvest on July 14th 2012.. the service was excellent and everybody were praising the food.. the food was amazing, the taste was excellent..I will recommend to all my friends.. if any1 needs good taste of Indian food, they should visit this restaurant for sure!!
(4)Ellen M.
(3)S S.
Food was good but seemed overpriced. For our "normal" order we paid $10-20 more than our usual restaurant. It seemed to take forever to order too, we probably had 3 people waiting on us.
(3)Mike R.
(1)Rich K.
Not the worst or the best place for Indian cuisine. Good enough for a quick meal, but if you want top notch Indian, this is not the spot.
(2)Rajashri B.
I have been going here for 7 years. Food just keeps getting better.
(4)Sergo J.
(4)Arvind G.
Tried this place twice, and the second time, we were so unimpressed, that we wont be going back. there is nothing special about the food. this is your typical suburban ethnic restaurant, luring those who crave the food, but dont want to drive into the city.
(2)Maria S.
This is our favorite Indian place in Naperthrill. We usually get take out from here. When we've eaten in the service is a bit slow. I think the naan is great and I like the saag paneer and pindi chana. I'm not an Indian food expert but this always hits the spot.
(4)Mary L.
(2)Ann G.
i may never have been to india, and i may ask for advice on indian food on occasion, but i am definitely a fan and try different places on a regular basis. after 1 take-out try i really really like this place. i ordered lamb vindaloo & aloo tikki tonight, and my mouth is still tingling with delight. the take-out was as quick as i'd hoped and from the looks of the inside of this place, i'd definitely dine in.
(4)Dani J.
I used to love this place. We would eat there for dinner often. But last week we got take out for our office group and quickly realized they put MSG in their food. We never noticed before because we would always just come home and go to bed, however, trying to finish the rest of your day after eating a meal with MSG is TOUGH! Never again.
(1)Kevin B.
Best Indian food in the area.
(5)Kritika B.
Very sub standard food... Ambiance was good and we thought the buffet spread was decent enough so tried today... All the appetizers were horrible... Few veggie options were okay... For the price point for a lunch buffet the quality was poor...whatever oil they used to fry and sauté was bad quality and made the food stink
(1)Megha T.
(2)Amy R.
(4)Larry D.
Another wonderful dinner at the best Indian experience in all of the Western burbs....wonderful quality and flavored
(5)Melanie B.
(4)Tom M.
Awesome place, the food and the service is excellent. They have a pretty extensive menu and everything from it is great. I personally recommend their lamb dishes. I do wish there was a bit more meat on the plates but then again I'm always hungry ;)
(4)Jessica C.
(4)Mike H.
My girlfriend and I ate here a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Food and hospitality were both amazing. If you are in the mood for Indian food this is the place to be.
(5)Neha M.
Nice authentic indian food ! Probably one of the best spots in Chicagoland!
(4)Hemangini S.
(5)Giselle B.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant. We tried several vegetarian and meat dishes and we loved them all. Portions are abundant and prices are good.
(5)Salil S.
(2)Li S.
(5)Maria L.
(4)Carole C.
(2)Bernadine L.
(3)Asif F.
(2)Mateo K.
I am a fan. The service is good and the food in great. What really sets this place apart, for me, are the two owners. These men are cordial and as good natured as can be. One of the owners noticed how much I love the rice pudding and brought me a container to take home. When anyone asks me where to go for Indian food, this is the only place I send them. Great guys!
(5)Afzal A.
Friendly place always get good service lamb chops my fav dal sag another Naans and so many other things never been disappointed I surely recommend this place
(5)Bob K.
(4)Kathyy H.
(5)Sunil S.
(4)Joe A.
Food was good, decent ambiance and server was awesome
(4)D W.
(4)Lori H.
Went here because of the yelp reviews. Food was very, very bland. First time I have ever gone to an Indian restaurant and had to put salt on my dishes. It is price way to high for the food. Won't be back.
(2)Ari T.
Are you a kabob connoisseur ? This is the best place to try kabobs.
(4)Eric C.
(1)Sid D.
Average food... I ate vegetarian dishes... Mutter Paneer, Stuffed Potatoes from the grill... Pretty standard fare and yet the dishes were barely ordinary. Ok if you are an out of towner dying for some Indian food.
(3)William G.

Best Indian food since returning from India ! Service is great, staff helpful and knowledgable... Love this place!

Amazing Food. This is the first time in Chicago Area , I have appreciated any Indian Food Place. Everything was awesome right from the Food , the ambiance and the people. I really like everything that came on my plate , truly Best cooked Saag Paneer in the Chicago Area.

Decor was very nice but food was not so good. If you want authentic GREAT Indian food go to India Palace in Wheaton.

This place has the best selection, quality, and service. I drive past a dozen Indian places to get here. Plus, it has a bar! Give it a try!

The buffet was delicious! Our class went there today and even it was late they were gracious to wait and we had sambar (spicy soup but authentic) different dishes that were fresh and the spices were

Our once a month visit today. Love this place. No other Indian restaurant has better Naan quality.

(5)Mirza B.

(3)Crystal H.
Tried the pindi Chana tonight. Totally unexpected and wonderful flavors: clove, cardamom and nicely spicy. Very well done! Still my favorite restaurant!
(5)Dana A.
Next time!
(4)Irax E.
