I used to be a regular here because it was right across the street from my old house. I moved to the other side of Naperville about 6 months ago and have been trying other Chinese take out places that are closer to my current home. Nothing compares to Taste of China! Tonight I ordered vegetable fried rice and egg drop soup. I typically always get chicken fried rice but decided to change up my order tonight and I am so glad I did! There were so many yummy vegetables in this rice, including broccoli, pea ponds, carrots, mushrooms, water chestnuts, YUM! Both items were still piping hot after my 20 minute ride home, another big plus!!!

Awful! Completely disgusting. I went to go eat here with my friend and we both had a bad experience. She found hair in her shrimp fried rice and my beef and broccoli was less than appetizing. The meat they used was strange in texture and my food REEKED. It was so bad that I am at a loss for words to describe how gross it smelled. Even my friend commented on how horrible it smelled and she sat across the table from me! Complete waste of money. I will never go back to this place ever again. No one was wearing a hair net and the girl at the cashier had her long hair just draping down even though she went back into the kitchen. Very disappointed. The stomach ache is not worth it.

This little store front takeout place has good fresh food. The place is clean, the service is fast and friendly, and very generous portions for a nice price. I also like that I can order all white meat chicken in my entrees. Here is the caveat, my order has never been 100% correct in the 20-25 times I've been there. Whether requesting hold the mushrooms and finding them included, or just getting the entrees mixed up all together. (Such as ordering chicken Kung Pao and I get Szechwan chicken instead.) This place is located very close to my house, thus I'm willing to take the gamble over and over. You never know what you're going to get but it's generally good and always hot. Also, make sure you ask for chopsticks, they don't come with the order unless requested.

All I have to say is that the vegtable egg rolls are really good and that my gluten free wife did not have a problem with the chicken spring rolls. She also said that they were good enough to get again. I would like to comment further but those are the only things we ordered. The service was also good.

We ordered carry out from here one rainy evening and got the following: - Gon Chow Ngau Ho (standard, not terrible) - BBQ Pork Fried Rice (same, pretty decent) - Beef with Broccoli (POISON! Okay, not poison, but it was def funky) Let's elaborate. Since I'm a lady, I'm not really familiar with the smell of a urinal. However, my boo informed me that the beef with broccoli did, in fact, smell like a urinal. It was weird and creepy and we didn't eat it. We called the place and they let us bring it back for a refund. Later, we asked our chef friend for potential reasons why the food would have smelled so bad. His guess was that the broccoli was probably really old, which is a better scenario than using urinal cakes as an ingredient. But it is still a little off putting. So long story short, very standard carry out with questionably fresh ingredients. I've had a lot better. Wah wahhhhhh!

My wife had the cashew chicken, I had chicken lo mein. Her cashew chicken was pretty bland and had plenty of leftovers that will remain uneaten. My lo mein wasn't too bad, but it actually tasted better coldbthe following day. We also had Chix fried rice, which was probably the best rice we've had since moving to the area 5 yrs ago. Undetermined if we will be back.

We have always gotten our Chinese food here (12 years)! We usually order Crab Rangoon, Egg Rolls, Potstickers and Sweet & Sour Chicken. We have never had a bad experience!

This was our first time and we are believers. We will definitely order from here again!

Great food. Clean and open view of the kitchen. Efficient and high quality service. Cons: Would like an option to ban all MSG from my account permanently. Add brown rice option for health conscious consumers

I have ordered from Taste several times. The food is pretty good but they have gotten my order wrong about 1/2 the time. It gets old having to check my order before I leave the store. I mean come on, McDonalds can even get that right.

When we order Chinese we always order from here. It has never disappointed us. My only gripe is when Chinese restaurants staple the carry out containers. Im always wondering if one got in my order. Yea I have issues Bon Appetit

A pleasant surprise! We did carry out tonight after I realized it was far too hot and muggy to hold myself accountable for cooking. Our wait time was minimal; ready in 10 minutes. The portions are enormous, a large menu item is enough for 3-4. Ordered some staple items - eggroll, Hunan Beef, and General Tso's Chicken. Sometimes I just want my standard Americanized Chinese food and Taste of China did a great job providing me exactly that. Meat was REAL - with no odds and ends and all white-meat chicken. Everything was yummy, well-packed, and hot when we came home. Their staff was super friendly when I arrived and very welcoming. The experience was exactly what I was hoping for and it seems as though Taste of China may just have become our restaurant away from Chinatown.

Okay, so I used to work here when I was in high school, so you have to take everything I say with a grain of salt, but the food here is pretty damn good. It's true that Taste of China goes a little heavy on the cornstarch, but what quick chinese takeout place doesn't? What really shines at Taste are their huge eggrolls, delicious crab rangoons, and phenomenal Hong Sue Chicken or Shrimp. The eggrolls are thick and stuffed with delicious cabbage, shrimp, pork, and soy sauce and always hit the spot. Kids come home and want Portillos. I come home and want eggrolls. (P.S. They have a veggie eggroll if you can't do the meat) The crab rangoon is also great: huge triangles filled with crab and cream cheese, guaranteed to melt in your mouth. Delicious. Okay, Hong Sue. It's a dark brown sauce that is savory (and not spicy) and has no cornstarch. It comes with veggie like water chestnuts, carrots, mushrooms, snap peas, and bamboo shoots. It comes with a side of breaded *insert pork, chicken, beef, shrimp here* and is to die for with rice. Seriously, my go to dish pretty much every time. Overall, a very good take out place. Yes, the price range is a little high, but those damn eggrolls are what makes it worth it. :)

The food is excellent. I have tried a number of dishes and liked them all. A little pricey so I knocked off a star for that. Service for take-out is very friendly.

I'm writing this to warn others to be careful, or really not to order from Taste of China at all, ever. I thought it was a coincidence that I would have a stomach problem after eating their food, but it is not. I am so sick after eating the food from there. NEVER AGAIN!!! Maybe Taste of China should throw away bad and old rancid food!!!! Don't serve it to good paying customers... Horrible.

The Lo Mein was so salty it was not edible, and the General Tso's Chicken was not good either. It was to expensive for the portion that we got. I would never go back.

Been eating from this place since they opened up in Naperville in 2000 or 2001. Great food and great staff. Egg rolls, wonton soup, and friend rice is great. I have tried everything on their menu and it's all good. I still haven't found this good of food in NJ and crave this all the time. Prices are great and they have great lunch specials.

I have eaten at Taste of China on a number of occasions, and have found the food to be mediocre at best. In general, I find that they use too much oil and corn starch in their preparations. Prices are a bit high for Chinese takeout places in the area, but are not offensive. The service has also been acceptable. I simply feel that there are too many decent Chinese restaurants in the vicinity to have to settle for the kind of food you often get at Taste of China. Please note that I have never been to the south Plainfield location, only the restaurant at 95th and Route 59.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
