You have to try business lunch special. Probably the best $5.99 meal I ever had. Beef shawarma sandwich was wonderful too. Reataurant was very clean and service was good

TIP: Come during lunch hours 12-3pm weekdays if you want the best deal in town. You really can't go wrong with this place, especially for its price. It's the perfect combination that satisifies your hunger and much much more. You can also bring your pita basket once you run out and ask for a refill. I love their sauces and found that the perfect combination is actually mixing them together, take the white sauce and pour it into the red sauce cup and voila! You got yourself "da bomb" sauce. I love Pita Inn's employees', especially who pay attention to detail. Service is what I look for and they always prove themselves. When a customer is finished, they immediately offer to take their trays and clean the spot right there. You won't find that anywhere else for a quick fast food place.

Food is consistent although portions have been smaller the last few times and naturally prices slightly raised but on par with market. Solid place with tasty food. Yes, there are other places but Pita Inn has a special place in my heart. Decor reflects an old chinese buffet haha. Baba Ghannough, Beef Shawarma, Veggie Combo Plate, Falafels, Lentil Soup, and of course the lunch special - all flavorful/fresh.

Best falafel there ever was! Period. Their falafel balls are the perfect shape, consistency. Moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They literally get it right every time, never had a bad food experience here. It's also a great place to cater food from. Reasonable prices- cannot go wrong!

Pita Inn I know that my wife couldn't wait for this place to open up in Mundelein so I was pretty excited for her when they announced that they were converting the old Krispy Kreme to a Pita Inn. I had never seen her so excited about a food place before like she was with Pita Inn. Pita Inn in Wheeling was the first Mediterranean food place that I had ever been too. I have been to this location about 3 or 4 times now and I usually order the kefta kabob. The past couple of times the kabob was pretty dried out and as a result a little tough for my liking. I think that someone else that reviewed this place indicated that the food sits under a warming light which would explain why the meet was dried out and a little tough. We also ordered some falafels and again they were crispy and too dry for my taste. I am happy that the Pita Inn re-purposed the old Krispy Kreme because there are way too many businesses building new instead of taking over another place. I am happy for my wife that she has this Pitta Inn to go to but I have another place for my Mediterranean fix that I prefer (Firewood Kabob). Overall score is 3.5 stars

The business lunch special is the best deal in town! The food is so f***in good! I would highly recommend the Kifta Kabob, Schwarma, and Shish Kabob. I would upgrade to the Fataoush Salad on the side for $1. This place rivals Pita Pit in Skokie! Lots of places to sit inside and outside! It's pretty crazy in here at high noon during the week!

This is one of my favorite and come to places for Middle Eastern type food. I've tried out several other locations and I use Pita Inn as the bench mark. To date, none in this area have matched or bested Pita inn. They have somewhat of an extensive menu, which should please just about everyone. This is also a great place to introducing someone to Middle Eastern type food. In fact, this is exactly what I did with my entire family and now they are all hooked on this type of food. Which is nice for when we travel places and I mention Middle Eastern, they no longer object to the suggestion. The food here is really good. Once in a while it does come out dry, but a little sauce takes care of that issue. The portions are plentiful and they are not stingy with the pita bread either. The only warning I will give is this place gets crazy jammed during lunch time. So if you are walking through the door anytime between 12pm and 1pm you should count on a crowed lobby and waiting a bit longer for your food. I find getting there by 11:30 or after 1:15 to be good times if you want to avoid the lunch time crowd.

I never knew there was a Pita Inn this far North. I happen to see it on route to my job and decided to check them out for lunch. Overall it's the same great tasting food I've gotten at other locations. I was surprised how quickly my "business lunch" special came up after I ordered. I was just done filling up my drink order when they called my number. Maybe it was too quick but as I said the food was as delicious as I remembered. I also like how the order area is deeper inside the restaurant as opposed to by the exit. That helps in managing crowd control since other locations folks are almost spilling by the exit door. I'll definitely be back.

I don't normally have a hankering for Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, but when I do, my go-to choice would be Pita Inn's chicken shawarma. It is so good, and words cannot even begin to describe its deliciousness. You've just got to get it. Picture thin slices of chicken marinated and cooked on a slow moving rotisserie. Add some spices and you've got yourself some excellent chicken. You can get the chicken in the following formats: sandwich style (in a pita with lettuce and tomato) $5, entree $9 (includes rice pilaf, salad and homemade pita bread) or included in a combination feats (same as shawarma entree with more meats) for $9.49 or $8.49 (if you forgo the chicken). Pita Inn is a great bang for your buck. The food is filling and you get a lot of it. My fiance ordered three entrees one evening after work for some unknown reason. Our Styrofoam containers were filled to the brim, and we had food for days. The food also tastes great even reheated, which is also a plus. Also, you can order just the meat if you're not interested in the other items that are included in the sandwiches or entrees. My fiance and I will order a some meat, an order of pitas (1 order comes with 2 pitas) and a couple falafels. I like to dip my falafel into the Tahini sauce. The consistency of Pita Inn's is just right - not too watery or too thick. Truthfully, I can't recall how much ordering just the meat costs, but the friendly people taking orders can definitely help you out with that. I don't recall it being too expensive either. In terms of service, all the employees I've interacted with have been extremely helpful and friendly. I personally prefer to call in my order to pick up so I can enjoy my food at home. The interior looks nice and it's normally relatively busy when I go there, but I haven't had to wait too long for my order, which is nice. Oh, if you're looking for gyros, this isn't the place for you. You won't find them here. Though, they do have beef shawarma, which is a possible alternative. I prefer the chicken shawarma over the beef, but that's just me. Overall, Pita Inn's the place to go if you've got a craving for some delicious and inexpensive Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. In the land of boring old chain restaurants, this one, albeit a chain (a small one), definitely adds some spice and flavor that the Lake County restaurant scene lacks. So, go ahead and check it out!

What can I say, PIta Inn boasts a $5.99 (+ tax) lunch special during the work week that is HUGE. The 'Business Lunch Special", as many others mentioned in other reviews, has a large portion of various meats, rice, and vegetable salad, as well as a tasty piece of pita and some tahini and spicy sauce. I come here at least once a week to get the lunch special, and occasionally I get an extra portion of tabouli or Jerusalem salad (which can get pricey, but I've never seen tabouli that is particularly that cheap to begin with, so........). I'm going to be so sad once my office moves down into the Loop, and I can no longer go here! Parking is generally easy, it's never super crowded during lunch time, and your order is ready really quick! Their falafel is also delish, as well!

Love the falafel gourmet. Has pickles, fried potato in a pita with diced tomato and diced cucumber .a little tahini and hot sauce and it is good to go. Hopefully they will add a falafel gourmet plate so I can have leftovers.

Talk about bang for your buck lunch specials! The Business Executive Lunch special is the most legit lunch special I've seen in ages. As far as top two bang for your buck lunches I've had in the chicagoland area, this and Chicken Planet are my top two (if you have others, please let me know!). **I literally just took a break from this and went to Pita Inn for lunch* Anyways, the quality and taste does not match up to a Roti or Naf Naf in the city, but it's still good. I'm not a Medi food expert but it seems more traditional then Roti or Naf Naf. The meats you get on the lunch special are all delicious. My only complaint would be the pita is a bit stiff and dry. My only word of advice when dining here is you must load up on the red hot sauce!!!

I'm so glad there's a Pita Inn on my way home from work so I can get my falafel fix! I highly recommend the Combination Feast. It's easily 2 meals for under $10. I've eaten here several times and the food is always delicious and fresh. The service is also very quick and friendly.

Went there on a friends advice for lunch. They have what they call a business special, and it was awesome. Cheap, great taste, and very apt for a lunch on workday, nor too heavy. The ambience is ok too, just a little loud with long wait time.

What is the criterion for a great restaurant? Authentic food, good prices, quality, uniqueness, etc. in my opinion Pita Inn has all of them. Pita Inn is a place that serves an authentic Middle Eastern menu. The are a number of Pita Inn restaurants sprinkled across the Chicagoland area, the fist being located on Dempster St in Skokie. I have enjoyed Pita Inn since I was little, going to the Skokie location. This location captures the same menu and quality as the original. I enjoy going there with friends and family. They offer a fantastic lunch special as well as great prices all around. Great food, great prices, and family friendly!!!

My parents suggested this place for lunch because of their really affordable Business Lunch on the weekdays. However since we went on Memorial Day, they didn't offer that deal. No big, we ordered the spicy chicken and chicken shwarma. The spicy chicken was legit, in both plate and sandwich form. My chicken shwarma was a little dry, and there was 4x more rice than chicken. Regardless, ordering a plate will definitely leave you leftovers for dinner or tomorrow's lunch. The pita was warm and yummy and the falafel was decent. The guys working there were all really sweet and was happy to help me pick the best dishes. There was also a yogurt bottled drink available that you should definitely try out. I'm glad this place opened in Vernon Hills (Mundelein?)! We need some new cuisine.

I've had a craving for this place for quite some time and finally made my way to a pretty large crowd. The line forms right as you walk in and the smells were great. I'm not too familiar with Middle Eastern foods but as people walked by me with their trays of food, everything looked so good. The menu was a tad confusing as a better description would have helped me in my order decision. I had to ask one of the customers what he ordered as it definitely caught me attention. There is a video menu scrolling through some of the items but not everything. I ordered the Beef Shawarma Entree which is sliced "gyro-like" beef on a salad with rice pilaf. There were a couple of slices of fresh pita on the side to wrap it all up. You had a choice of a red spicy sauce and a white tahini sauce which I presumed was similar to the cucumber gyro sauce. The taste was a little lighter which is better for the diet! There were so many items that I wish I had tried but I took the menu home to peruse at my leisure and come back more prepared.

I was hankering for a good shawarma sandwich for the last couple days and because I was in the area, decided on checking out this new location from Pita Inn. It's been a few years since my last visit to the Skokie location and I'll tell you off the bat, I've never been that impressed. But, being that I was with family from Skokie and it always seems to be Skokie folk that are uber impressed with Pita Inn, I thought I'd give it another go. Three dined for an early dinner this past Sunday. This location is as big as the Skokie restaurant with seating for many families. Comfortable enough and well lighted. The sign welcoming you into the restaurant is accented inside of a bubble wall display. (Think one of those long, slender fish tanks with a bubble machine inside.) The restaurant was bustling with business and there was always no less than four guests in line. Ordering is simple and is done at the counter. A number is given, you wait to retrieve your meal and then sit anywhere in the dining area. Once your party is done you can leave your plates on the table and it will get cleaned by a porter. Recently I've been getting my shawarma fix at Naf Naf Grill. So, I've got some high standards with bread since they bake their bread daily. Pita Inn disappointed me. Two of us actually. Two out of three were happy with their shawarma. Why? The bread was brittle and fell apart as we bit into our sandwich. I hate that crap. God forbid you waste food that can be eaten (at home) but when I'm paying for a sandwich, I want to eat something fresh. I found my chicken to be dry and once that sandwich became a mess of pile in my hands I lost any inclination I had to eat. You can eat ten shawarma sandwiches just like that one anywhere. So why here? Maybe it's me, I've never gotten the thrill. To enjoy your sandwich I suggest getting the freely available Tahini and hot sauces. Also purchase a side of garlic sauce. Feel free to mix them in any combination and add to your meal. It will add a new level of excitement to the flavors lacking.

I came here to meet with friends for an early dinner with friends around 5PM.. It was very empty upon arrival, but slowly got packed --not to the point that you coudln't find seats though. The location is very spacious and clean which I like! Customer service - is good, the staff here are friendly so i have no complaints Food: I tend to always order the same thing.. Chicken Hummus Shawarma ($7.49) - comes with chicken, hummus and homemade pita bread--it doesn't look like a lot of food, but it is filling (for me at least).. Costs: affordable for the amount of food that is provided Washrooms: are clean Parking: a lot of free parking available in the parking lot I would come here again if I were in the area~

I've been a Pita Inn fan & will continue to be. I've been to all of the Pita Inns, I even remember when the original Skokie location was smaller than it is now (bec they later expanded into the store property next door). When I moved to mount prospect, I was glad to find out that there was a Pita Inn in Wheeling. Since I work in Cook county, I venture to the Glenview/Nies location. But when I moved near to Mundelein with my husband, I always hoped that there was a Pita Inn within the Lake County area. I would even tell the crew at the Wheeling location, "Please open up a Pita Inn in Lake county!" So you have NO idea HOW happy I was when I found out that Pita Inn was opening up in Mundelein. I went to the official grand opening today & it was packed! Pita Inn has that kind of following. Who cannot like middle eastern food & great prices? I ordered Kefta Kabob, & the meat was tender & cooked medium-well (which is what I like). The art work was more hip (better than the Niles location). I even loved their water wall at the entrance--nice touch. A definite plus is a vast amount of parking. Since this used to be a Krispee Creme, they changed it to stand out like Pita Inn. They also set up an outside eating area for warmer seasons. On top of that, this Pita Inn offers a mini store, so if you want to sample some Mediterranean products --- you can. Can't wait to go back & have their other dishes. Guess 'wishes' do come true (wink).

Very clean; friendly staff. I usually get the chicken shawarma platter. The rice is good and the pitas are delicious. Unfortunately, every time I eat there, I get really bad heartburn. Maybe because the chicken is a little dry? Regardless, the food is good and I'm sad I have to stay away from there.

I like pita inn, but don't love it. The meats are exceedingly dry. Maybe that's the way they are supposed to be? It is a much healthier option than other fast food and it is vegiterian friendly. The interior is decorated quite nicely, people are friendly, and the line moves quickly.

LOVE Pita Inn. I have been going here for years (all locations) and it never disappoints. The gourmet falafel and lamb kabob sandwich is out of this world. I always order the combination platter and sub for the fatoush salad. The hummus is outstanding with their house made pita bread. The sauces at the counter are the perfect compliment!

Yum, this is why Chicago is so great, if you want true ethnic food, you will get it. I am a huge ethnic food braver. My first time at Pita Inn was in the skokie area, it was amazing food, on a cold winter night. We also purchased groceries there. The second time, I went back to the sokie area, I learned the amazingness of their lentil soup, which brought me here, to the Mundelein area, for the third time. I ordered the gourmet falafel sandwich, lentil soup, and the Vimto soft drink. The sandwich was uuuber delicious. The lentil soup, very hearty, how do they cook their beans fully through like that!!!??? It also had carrots and celery in it. The perfect harmony for a vegetarian, if you are one. The Vimto drink is a mediterranean soft drink, it's imported and has arabic on it. It''s different, but I loved the experience. I was going to try their yogurt drink, which is kind of like Kaffir, but with a stronger yogurt taste and less fruity. That will be next time though. This location is sparkling new, opened last March, very clean. Free tahini and red saw that looks kind of like salsa, which goes amazingly well with any sandwich. I learned that when you are done with your food, you just leave it on the table, and the best boy will come to clean it up. However, I felt bad haha. This place is the busiest during lunch time, which makes sense. Gets busy again around 7pm dinner time. The best time to come is around 3-6, no wait, no crowd, you get the place to yourself.

EXCELLENT and DELICIOUS food! Always flavorful, delicious and fresh. There is nothing that I won't get from here that could disappoint me at all. Pita House, another Mediterranean place, has the SAME menu and flavor as this place. Both are excellent places. The bathrooms along with the entire place was super clean and sanitary and I loved every drop of the food. The meat was well done and the the utensils were very clean as well. The hot sauce along with the yogurt sauce was very delicious as well. There was only one time I was eating where the noise level got too high and I thought it was rude of the customers to be that loud while others were trying to eat and enjoy themselves. However, that would not be the fault of the restaurant. Enjoy!

Was in the area visiting and saw the famous Pita Inn sign while driving past. Had to stop in for a shawerma. Ordered a lamb kabob sandwich for my daughter and a chicken shawerma to go. Chicken had too much pepper and was cut into tiny hard pieces. What really gets me is the idiot girl at the register somehow heard "kefta kabob" and not lamb kabob, and I didn't of course see the wrong order was given until I got home 30 miles away. My daughter hates kefta and it went in the garbage like my $5. Thanks Pita Inn....

I was in the mood for something spicy, was in the mood for something hearty. I was in the mood for a delicious lunch, one that wouldn't make me farty. I said to Ashley, lets go to Mundelein, And smash some Pita Inn Hummus, pita, chicken, and falafel, That's what I call a win! The gentleman at the counter told us If we liked them on Facebook we would get a treat So I searched and clicked the thumbs up icon And he handed us a falafel for free! We ordered a sampler of their finest foods All for less than $20 bucks Only four locations in Chicago, and theres one down the street? I finally have some good luck! Rice, chicken, beef, and lamb A lean meal that's nutritious, I know I will be back for lunch and dinner Because PIta Inn is delicious!

So happy they opened a location up here near Vernon Hills. Food seems to be fresh. The falafels are crispy and tasty. My favorite is the kifta kababs, which are made with a combo of ground beef and veal. The chicken is moist and flavorful. Prices are decent for what you get, especially if you get the lunch special.

Eh, it's ok, not my first choice of cuisine, but that didn't stop me from filling my face full of a Mediterranean mess. Mike loves this place and I finally caved and stopped in. We really enjoyed our meals and to top it off, the worker offered us free falafel if we liked them on Facebook. So we did, and they were really good. I'd go back, but maybe only a once or twice a year type of place for me :)

... If you have a very short lunch break between meetings and other things at work, the "Business Lunch Special' is the way to go. It's only $5.99 and the portion size is HUGE. After eating mine today, I feel into a deep food coma and I was a happy camper. I didn't want to go back to my errands. The food here is outstanding and I wish there was a location near where I live. Their baklava and other items are out of this world. I highly recommend this place to newcomers to Mediterranean food. You won't leave hungry. You might have to be rolled out the door!!

The lunch special is a must here. It comes with three types of meat, rice, and salad for only $5! I'm pretty sure with the amount of food I got could fill me up for lunch and dinner!

Business lunch special $ 5.99 best deal around. I am the oddball and always get the vegetarian platter. I'm not a vegetarian but this platter is off the chain!! If it was just hummus and baba ganoush it would be delish and enough but there's falafel and dolma and tabouleh and another salad (i forgot the name) as well. Everything is lemony, tasty, yum! You dont miss the meat with the veg platter but I love the chicken and kefta kabob is always good. Schwarma and kabobs are also great. Cutting my review short cause all this reviewing has me craving that warm pita, mint tea and hummus!!! BTW good parking and seating is nice---avoid weekday lunch rush.

In my first experience with Pita Inn I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich (no sauce) and it was heavenly. Picture: warm pita pocket stuffed with DELICIOUS chicken (moist, juicy, flavorful...ahh), plus sliced tomato and iceberg lettuce. Personally, I could have gone without the last two ingredients - the chicken alone is what I'm in love with, but great sandwich overall! Seeing as I got there in the thick of the Saturday lunch-rush, It did take quite a while for the food (I was taking it to-go), but it wasn't too bad and it was sooo worth the wait. I've also tried the Chicken Fatoush Salad (w/ chicken shawarma!!) and that was pretty good. I must say that I prefer the chicken shawarma when it's hot and it was not hot in this salad...so I'd say that I prefer the chicken shawarma sandwich over the salad. But they are both pretty yummy, so get whatever tickles your fancy. Hoping to try their famous Business Lunch Special next time that's only available M-F 11-3!

First time here and very pleasantly surprised. I liked it more than I thought. My husband and I ordered the business special which was a plate with salad, rice, farfalal, chicken breast, lamb and steak. I also ordered hummus and pita on the side. We prob could have split the plate because we ended up "stuffing" our pita bread with meat, rice and salad. Very flavorful. Make sure you grab the sauces. The red is hot and the white is a creamy mild dressing. Now we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. A great value.

What can I add about Pita Inn, that I have not already said about the other locations? Food is very good and reasonably priced. I don't think there is a better quick service M/E food option I have ever found during my travels across the US. I wish I could find a parking spot here more often, but this place is packed day and night. Last visit, I was looking forward to having mango juice, but it was not available. I was told that there is a mango shortage and it was not being offered at this time. Would've been nice if they would have posted that by the counter, as I would have skipped ordering a drink (trying to cut back on soda). They have also added a shelf of dry goods and gifts (teas, cups, etc). I picked up some halva to go. They own a store next to the Skokie location and maybe they can grab a spot in the mall here as well. Would welcome the chance to buy fresh baked pita and other goods close to home.

As a semi-frequent longtime customer of their Wheeling location, I have been pleasantly surprised to see that they have maintained the same high quality of the food at this Pita Inn. It's just a little bit larger, newer and brighter. Orders will tend to get to you a little quicker. The overall workflow is just a little bit more efficient than my other, older Pita Inn in Wheeling. What's missing? Hamdi for one. Hamdi, the mischievous manager of the Wheeling location is a master of breaking the ice. His personality elevates the lunch experience and strangely enough is sometimes worth going through the madhouse that his tinier location often becomes. When you can't spare any extra minutes however, the Mundelein location will serve you just fine.

ah, the Pita Inn empire grows. i knew a location recently opened up here but i never go this far north when low and behold i am driving around up there and just by chance happen to pass a Pita Inn, and it was just about lunch time. I couldnt stop myself from pulling in. i recall a Chicago Tribune article, articles.chicagotribune.… that talks about how the owner is a stickler for consistency in both quality and price. This new location is definitely consistent with both. I'm not likely to frequent this location as its really no where near my regular area of travels, but I am definitely a fan.

Chanella B.
Where do I start! Pita inn is great! the food is amazing, everything is fresh, the people there are super friendly and helpful and the tahini sauce is awesome! I usually stick with the Chicken Shawarma plate (because the plate is huge and enough to share with mini-man, I mix the chicken tenders with the plain shawarma meat... they do this at no additional cost) ! The falafels are really good too! I always order extra pita and this is more than enough to feed me and lil man (we always have extras to take home)! Very large portions so be hungry! This place gets busy fast, so I try to eat a light breakfast and go as early to opening time (11am) as I can... closer to noon the place fills up quick. Busy or not, they still manage to get your food to you quickly and with a smile.

The food was really good. Something different then just another burger or sandwich. A pita stuffed with your choice of meat. The spicy chicken was amazing, super spicy without any sauce. The restaurant was clean and had good indoor and outdoor seating. On top of that prices are completely reasonable. I'll be going back for sure.

I had a decent chicken shwarma here but i was not entirely pleased with the whole experience. The menu was slightly confusing and I couldn't quite make out what was what. Also, I noticed that it wasn't the cleanest place. The tables were in some disarray and there were a number of tables that had not been cleaned. I was okay with my meal but I've had better Mediterranean elsewhere.

I've been eating at Pita Inn for years. The Mundelein location does not disappoint. Same menu, same great food. This location offers more seating than the Wheeling location, which is nice for larger groups. There isn't much more to say about Pita Inn which hasn't already been said. If you want good Mediterranean food, then get yourself to Pita Inn.

So happy that they opened one up near my work. I have been going to Pita Inn for over 25 years at their original Skokie location. Pita Inn is a staple in my family and wouldn't know where we would be at without them!

Shawn D.
I've loved Pita Inn since I stumbled into the Skokie location years ago. If you are familiar with that location, you will REALLY like this one. Ample parking, ample seating and everyone can order and stand near the pick up area without being completely crammed. Had the lamb kebob plate, beef shawarma plate, hummus and a falafel. The shawarma was delicious, flavorful and moist. The lamb was very good, but a little on the dry side. Hummus was great and the pita bread was nice and thick. The falafel was underwhelming, on the small side and kept in the fryer just a pinch too long. Would definitely go back if I were in the area.

The food here is unreal. It's always perfect, always excellent. My only issue is the wait, but that's only because the food is so awesome. Plus, the prices are out of this world. I would give it five stars, but you the wait can be 15-20 minutes for a walk-in takeout order and the waiting area can get crowded. Otherwise, this would be a perfect review. Great restaurant in Mundelein.

This place mystifies me. The food isn't that good but I will randomly find myself craving it. Whenever I don't feel like the usual fast food/chain restaurant cuisine, I'll come here. The combination plate is my favorite because there's so much food it lasts for at least 2 separate meals. And don't forget to order a side of garlic sauce, it's the best part!

Staff was knowledgable. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Food flavor was good but chicken Is a little dry. Baba ganoush was delicious!

I was not thrilled, no matter how much my son likes it. Both the kabob and the beef shawarma meat were too dry. The rice pilaf and salad were OK but nothing special. The only thing above average was a side order of falafel. Way over priced for the value. Will not be back.

simply put you can't miss good food good taste very reasonable prices and you won't go home hungry the chicken and the steak are the way to go

Everyone there was very friendly. I ordered the Business Lunch Special. It was entirely ok. It was definitely not the best Mediterranean food I have ever had, but for the price it was entirely adequate. I liked that the special was kind of a "sampler platter," since I had never been there before and didn't know what I would like off the menu. However, it was all a little dry and unimpressive. I will go back to try other things and the Business Lunch Special will always be an entirely safe option. It is definitely a lot of food for the price.

New, modern, and often crowded version of the famous Wheeling location with the same great food. Still a great deal at lunch with the $5 lunch special, but reasonable for dinner too. Try the Grape Leaves app, and the Baba ganoush.

This place is awesome! So happy it moved close to my parent's house. My family ordered food from here at least 4 times in this past week since it opened, everything is perfectly seasoned, super delicious, and made to order every time! The business specials are the best because it's $3.99 for a combo (minus chicken) or $4.99 with chicken. Their sauces are absolutely addicting, can't wait to go back!

I ordered a chicken kebob to go, got home and they gave me steak and not chicken. Not sure how they can screw up an extremely simple order when they weren't even busy. And my receipt was correct, so it was obviously entered into the register correctly.

Pita Inn has the best falafel ever! This is one of the newer locations. Plenty parking, great vegetarian options. Highly recommend.

Amazing tasting food. Great place for complete family dining. Excellent customer service and value for money. We always enjoy the Lamb Kabobs platter, Chicken shwarma is good also, falafel tastes really fresh and good. Bakalava and Kinafe make perfect desert. We always feel happy visiting this place :-)

I've actually traveled throughout the Mediterranean and around the USA, as for the price and Chicago area this is a good deal (especially the business lunch). But I've had better Mediterranean food before, especially outside the Chicago area.
(4)
Connie C.
High-quality chow at great prices. Love the hummus with Olive oil on top. Chicken Shwarma is so tasty. Rice is good. Chicken tenders are all white meat and seasoned well. Tabouli salad tastes fresh and lemony. Stuffed grape leaves are a favorite at my house. Wish they had a drive-thru!

Pita Inn offers standard Mediterranean food. Among it's competitors, it wouldn't be my top choice because there wasn't any "wow". However, it does not disappoint and is convenient.
(3)

As always, a delicious experience at Pita Inn. The Vegetarian Combo plate was awesome. And both the Beef and Chicken Shwarma plates are delicious. There's nothing bad on their menu.

Just left there the time is 9:29 pm the manager outside on the phone, smoking a cigarette and having an argument with his girlfriend said they were closed. I called and was told they were open till 10pm?!?? First impressions!!!

Apparently it's the must have while in Chicago. Ordered take out and everything was awesome. Portions are huge and great for sharing. Freshly prepared and great ingredients. West coasters are missing out.

No matter how hard I've tried I cannot Find a recipe to duplicate the hot sauce. It is divine. Unique. Identifiable with ur eyes closed. I grew up on the Skokie location. Not one thing is different in mundelein. Kudos...I've introduced my kids to it...hummus and falafel sandwiches are the fav.

I'm incredibly surprised by the number of great reviews for this place. My only experience at this restaurant was awful. I will never go back. All the food was over-fried, and tasteless. Their falafel tasted and looked like like fried balls of bird suet. They were hard and crumbly. Yuck! So disappointed.
(1)
Me T.
Horrible. We love Mediterranean food but this place is awful. They screwed up the entire order. The rice was hard and cold. They forgot the falafel and charged us incorrectly. The manager is extremely rude and refused to fix the order when we called in. Matter of fact his exact words were, "it must be you, cuz' we ain't stupid here." I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!
(1)
Jim B.
Pita Inn is without a doubt the best fast food option anywhere, IMO. The food is fresh, and you get a lot of it for a reasonable price. I almost always opt for the "lunch special", which provides enough food for 2 lunches for only $4.95.

I was excited to finally eat at this location. Have been to the other locations many times. Loved the water window when walking in the door. The decor was very inviting. It was busy but not packed. We ordered our food and found a nice table by the window. All looked good until............we tried to chew our food. All of our meat was dry, over cooked . My sandwich was full of lettuce and little chicken. I should of took it back. But I was hungry . Good thing we were able to drink lots of water to help our meal go down. We always go to Firewood in Buffalo Grove, but had to try this location. NEVER AGAIN

Love this place. Manager Charlie runs this place with efficiency. Customer friendly and cheerful. We just keep going. No Sub standard ..expensive Korean food at Blue House Kim Korean in Mundelien . Go to Pita Inn for sumptuous , affordable food ... Mrs. B. :) My review was for Pita Inn in Oak Creek Mundelein. I'll.

My first trip to the new location and it was great. This location used to be a Krispy Kreme and it has completely transformed to become the largest Pita Inn I have eaten at. The new location is gorgeous and at 11:30 not crowded at all. My friend took me here for my birthday and it was stellar, as always. I ordered my standard lunch special with Jerusalem Salad and my friend got the chicken plate with a side of hummus. Same great food, just a different location. I was very happy to see the sugar free bakery items at the counter, added bonus.

Well, I'll be. About a month ago I was on my way to the Pita Inn in Wheeling and passed by this place. It wasn't open yet, but I made a mental note for the next time I was hungry for Pita Inn. Well, today I ate at the Mundelein Pita Inn for the first time. The food is just as good as the other Pita Inns. The only difference is that the Combination Feast comes with chicken rather than having a separate menu item for the combination feast with chicken. I had never tried the chicken at Pita Inn because I was thinking that it would be dry, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was succulent and nicely seasoned. The other items on the Combination Feast were the same as what I normally have and were just as good. I also had the hummus (always get the hummus). It seemed to have slightly different seasoning than what I had at the other Pita Inns (it certainly looked different), but excellent all the same. My only complaint is that the restaurant has a somewhat awkward layout when compared to the Wheeling location, but that may be exaggerated by the fact that the place has just opened and people who had never tried Pita Inn before are now becoming fans.

I am so happy to be able to update my review! I had an awesome falafel salad and will continue to go here. The staff at the front was great taking my order, and I am hooked on the mint ice tea! It was a great healthy stop for food and quick. The place is so clean!
(5)
Justin F.
Great service from employees! However, the food tasted processed & reheated on a grill, to add on the bread was hard. Much potential to improve though! They can learn from other Mediterranean restaurants to serve only homemade and not fast food style.
(2)
M B.
My husband and I both ordered the lunch special with a side of hummus to dip our bits of meat and pita into-try this you'll never go back! I tried the mint tea, as recommended by a friend who had been there. It was great! Our meal was SO delicious! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy and tender. The beef was cooked tender and well seasoned, and the rice was flavorful. The salad was fresh and crisp and the hummus was the right balance of tahini and spices. My husband was raised on a Mediterranean diet so he is naturally very picky when it comes to restaurants like this and we usually make our own hummus. I think we both would have licked our plates clean if there wasn't SO much food on that plate! Also, I am not a big falafel fan and I thought they had the best falafel I have ever tasted. Kinafe dessert can be picked up after you finish your meal so it will be warm and super delicious, don't miss out on this. You can't find a better meal in town for $4.99! We will be returning here often! Last tip-we arrived at 11:30, and just beat a major lunch crowd that arrived at noon.

I'll preface this review by saying that I've eaten at the Skokie location about 3 or 4 times this year, so felt I knew what to expect. Pricey - $5 for 4 pieces of meat in a pita pocket, or $8 for the same on a bed of rice - meals were much larger at other location Phoning ahead was a waste of time - they never started the order.

chicken shawarma is good love the food here is very consistent

The best mediterranean food. Love the falafals and the shwarma and the tahini and the hot sauce. No other place matches the hot sauce they serve here. Yum. You need to open a branch in the Northwest/West suburbs !!

I love this place. I think I've visited each location now.
(5)
Vishal B.
This place is famous for a reason! Absolutely love the selection, quality and cleanliness of this establishment. They really did an amazing job gutting out that old Krispy Kreme donut shop (which sat vacant for YEARS) and making the place have its own cool style. Cant wait to dine outside in the summer. If you go here during peak lunch or dinner times you can expect a longer wait and there is the possibility of there not being any seating available. My suggestion is to go there for a late lunch or late dinner. This place is never going to slow down, there is a reason.

Pita Inn I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!! You guys close at 9:00pm on Wednesday night. Not only you guys kept the store open but you guys got the chairs set for 3 babies and for the 8 of us you guys set our table. Awesome customer service from all the employees and smiles all around. Didnt hurry us to each infact the manager took time to chat with us to see how is our day is going...I LOVE U PITA INN...LIFETIME FAN!!!!

Enjoyed lunch with family yesterday 7/1. Vegetarian combo platter and baba ghannoug and stuffed grape leaves filled us up. Super fresh and bursting of flavor like I remember from eating at the original Skokie location. Hot sauce is still tops.
(4)
Lee L.
Went there during the first week of being open, so it was crowded and chaotic. It was so loud in there you could not carry on a conversation. After we stand in a long line to place our order, it took about 30 mins for them to page us to retrieve our meal. Husband and I had the combination platter..and it was just mediocre. The chicken, the beef, and whatever that other meat was...were all dry. I needed some gravy or sauce or something! Because of the rave reviews from other Pita Inn's, I may try it again at a later time.

update: they've recently increased their business lunch special price by $1.00, which is fine. the reason they've lost 1 star from me, is, because they have signs up for "side orders," which the tiny cup of hot sauce is listed on. they're charging $.50 for one tablespoon worth of hot sauce...unacceptable....I really hate being nickled and dimed like that. it's bad customer service. what a shame. I love the food, but I've always come here for the great value. however, I don't see value in charging people separately for every little thing, especially for some hot sauce!
(3)

Absolutely in love! I love the stuffed grape leaves! I stop here every time I come home from school (sometimes twice a trip home c:)
(5)

I go at least once a week, the lunch special is a great deal. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because the chicken is usually dry.... but I get it anyway..... If they fix that I will give it five

I went on a Wed. at noon thinking that it wouldn't be so crowded because it was a Wed. I was wrong. I ordered the business lunch and had to wait 25 min. My tip is that if you are going there for take out and go during a busy time, call in your order ahead of time. The other day, I went on a weekend at 4:30 and ordered some falafel for take out. The falafel they gave to me was not freshly cooked (since the cashier had asked if there were any falafel left to give to me). I made the mistake of not asking them to cook me a new batch. I am giving this place 4 stars because the business lunch is great deal.
(4)
Steve G.
I don't understand the hype of this place! The food is decent but not superb. Meats/chicken are overcooked aka...dry which tends to be the end result of mass produced food surviving under heat lamps. Thinking this might have been just a 'bad day', I went to another of the PIta Inn chains in Wheeling with high hopes it would be better since I love Middle Eastern cuisine. The end result, somewhat better and bigger portions but poor customer service..can't have both, right? Sacrifice one for the other. Firewood Kabob blows this place out of the water (read my review). To me, Pita Inn is like saying Olive Garden is authentic Italian, Red Lobster is classic seafood or On the Border is authentic Mexican; nothing more than microwave kitchens. You get the idea.
(2)
Joseph M.
Great deal. Enjoyed a fantastic falafel sandwich for $3.75. Always busy be prepared to wait 10 minutes for your food. Worth the wait!
(4)
Stephanie V.
Went to Pita Inn for the first time over the weekend. My other half went there with his co-workers for lunch and said it was amazing. We went to Europe a few years ago and they sell "Kabobs" on like every corner in some areas. When we got back to the states we couldn't find any places that had anything that compared. Well lucky for me I know live this area. My prayers for comparable Kabob have been answered! This place is great. It's buzzing with people which makes the lines long. However the cashiers were awesome and did a great job of moving them along. Our wait wasn't that long and the food was amazing. We had the Combination Feast, Chicken Pita Sandwich, hummus, and mango juice. Delicious! I will be returning soon.

I'm a huge Pita Inn fan from the days when I worked in Wheeling. So glad that they opened up a Mundelein location. I took my family there and they are officially hooked. This is great food at a great value. I was interested to read the reviews to see why some people were giving them a low score. For the most part, it looks like people were disappointed that they were insanely busy during their opening. Don't worry folks, it only gets better from here. If you're new to Med food, stop in for lunch and get the business plate special. Just under 5 bucks and there is a ton of food and a huge variety. You won't be disappointed.

Was excited about this opening as I had been to all the other locations and loved the food. So, i went there about a week after it opened at 11:00 am on a Wednesday. The place was packed, and the counter workers were working at a frenzied pace trying to keep up... it was total chaos, lettuce flying all over the place, really sloppy. Got my food, and the bread was stale, falafel tasted like it was made hours before, chicken swarma was dry, etc. I will try again in a month or so when thy've had a chance to sort things out.

I took the kids and went to Pita Inn Mundelein today for the first time. I must say I was really impressed. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and the manager, Waleed, was extremely helpful. Most importantly, the food was delicious. I'll be coming here on a weekly basis.

(5)Jessica Y.
(4)Payal S.
Best falafel there ever was! Period. Their falafel balls are the perfect shape, consistency. Moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They literally get it right every time, never had a bad food experience here. It's also a great place to cater food from. Reasonable prices- cannot go wrong!
(5)David K.
Great business lunch special. A variety of different meets, rice and a side salad all for $6! Restaurant is very clean and staff is friendly.
(5)Katie A.
I like this place , They have nice and hot Falafel even everything is tasty and spicy i like it. good for Dinner with friends . Only one thing I hate is waiting period . but its worth to eat that fresh n hot dinner .
(5)Ai L.
Love love love this place! Fantastic food, awesome prices, friendly service and clean bathrooms. Very family friendly and we seriously love it all. The hummus is so smooth! Amazing pita bread and the meats are fantastic. The staff are great and bathrooms are alway very clean when we eat here. A great healthy option for the whole family!

(3)Rod C.
(4)Carl F.
(5)Eric G.
(5)Jennifer L.
(4)Roman M.
(5)Susan S.
Love the falafel gourmet. Has pickles, fried potato in a pita with diced tomato and diced cucumber .a little tahini and hot sauce and it is good to go. Hopefully they will add a falafel gourmet plate so I can have leftovers.
(4)Daniel N.
(4)Tracy B.
I'm so glad there's a Pita Inn on my way home from work so I can get my falafel fix! I highly recommend the Combination Feast. It's easily 2 meals for under $10. I've eaten here several times and the food is always delicious and fresh. The service is also very quick and friendly.
(5)Khan K.
Went there on a friends advice for lunch. They have what they call a business special, and it was awesome. Cheap, great taste, and very apt for a lunch on workday, nor too heavy. The ambience is ok too, just a little loud with long wait time.
(4)Alec H.
(5)Amy K.
(4)L H.
Disgusting. Everything is dried out and kept warm under heat lamps If you want FRESH middle eastern food this is like going to mcdonalds for a burger
(1)Frank N.

Great food and huge portions . Will definitely reccomend friends to this place .

Great place to go if you're craving ethnic food - Prices are good too!
(4)Jessica P.

(5)Brenda M.
(3)Jennifer W.
Smells good and tastes good but makes me have queasiness. If you have a strong stomach it is good. I due love the mint tea!
(3)GE N.
I like pita inn, but don't love it. The meats are exceedingly dry. Maybe that's the way they are supposed to be? It is a much healthier option than other fast food and it is vegiterian friendly. The interior is decorated quite nicely, people are friendly, and the line moves quickly.
(3)Scott R.
(5)Victoria W.
(4)Jamsaheb ..
Goto place.
(4)Azhar S.
Enjoy!
(5)Lola P.
(1)Cyndi P.
So delicious and fresh. I am never disappointed in the service, taste, price, or cleanliness. Ginormous portions! Long lines out the door move quickly, so don't be scared off if you see a long line.
(5)Bobby A.
Amazing food perfect pita amazing sauce.
(4)Michael N.
(5)Jessica S.
(4)Ashley S.
(3)Jon A.
(5)May Z.
The lunch special is a must here. It comes with three types of meat, rice, and salad for only $5! I'm pretty sure with the amount of food I got could fill me up for lunch and dinner!
(4)Sonia L.
(5)Khadija S.
Service is top of the notch. Food is fresh and the people are supernice. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE.
(5)Meghan H.
(4)Brenda L.
(5)Mike A.
(5)Vince V.
(4)B S.
Amazing falafel, chicken schwarma, pita, fresh hummus, flavorful mint tea, and a lunch special for under 6 that is big enough for 2 people!
(5)Sethu M.
I have given this place two more stars now since they stopped being cheap with the sauce.
(4)William B.
ah, the Pita Inn empire grows. i knew a location recently opened up here but i never go this far north when low and behold i am driving around up there and just by chance happen to pass a Pita Inn, and it was just about lunch time.
(5)Chanella B.
(4)Eric W.
(5)Joanne L.
My husband and I and our two kids come eat at this place once a month. The food here is always good and service is friendly. We love the mango juice here! We will be back soon!
(4)Mark M.
Always a great place to go lunch or dinner, great food at a great price
(5)Elliott D.
(3)Christine K.
(5)Sonny P.
So happy that they opened one up near my work. I have been going to Pita Inn for over 25 years at their original Skokie location. Pita Inn is a staple in my family and wouldn't know where we would be at without them!
(4)Shawn D.
(4)Dan P.
(4)Kim B.
(3)Stephanie D.
Staff was knowledgable. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Food flavor was good but chicken Is a little dry. Baba ganoush was delicious!
(4)Igor C.
I was not thrilled, no matter how much my son likes it. Both the kabob and the beef shawarma meat were too dry. The rice pilaf and salad were OK but nothing special. The only thing above average was a side order of falafel. Way over priced for the value. Will not be back.
(2)W C.
simply put you can't miss good food good taste very reasonable prices and you won't go home hungry the chicken and the steak are the way to go
(4)Justin F.
(3)Joseph P.
New, modern, and often crowded version of the famous Wheeling location with the same great food. Still a great deal at lunch with the $5 lunch special, but reasonable for dinner too. Try the Grape Leaves app, and the Baba ganoush.
(4)Amy S.
(5)Brent Z.
I ordered a chicken kebob to go, got home and they gave me steak and not chicken. Not sure how they can screw up an extremely simple order when they weren't even busy. And my receipt was correct, so it was obviously entered into the register correctly.
(1)Jamal A.
Pita inn is always the king !
(5)Apara W.
Pita Inn has the best falafel ever! This is one of the newer locations. Plenty parking, great vegetarian options. Highly recommend.
(5)Basheer A.
(5)J D.
I've actually traveled throughout the Mediterranean and around the USA, as for the price and Chicago area this is a good deal (especially the business lunch). But I've had better Mediterranean food before, especially outside the Chicago area.
(4)Connie C.
(5)Justine L.
Pita Inn offers standard Mediterranean food. Among it's competitors, it wouldn't be my top choice because there wasn't any "wow". However, it does not disappoint and is convenient.
(3)Mindy B.
As always, a delicious experience at Pita Inn. The Vegetarian Combo plate was awesome. And both the Beef and Chicken Shwarma plates are delicious. There's nothing bad on their menu.
(4)French D.
Just left there the time is 9:29 pm the manager outside on the phone, smoking a cigarette and having an argument with his girlfriend said they were closed. I called and was told they were open till 10pm?!?? First impressions!!!
(1)Pratik P.
Apparently it's the must have while in Chicago. Ordered take out and everything was awesome. Portions are huge and great for sharing. Freshly prepared and great ingredients. West coasters are missing out.
(5)Kalinda L.
(4)Dawn J.
(1)Me T.
(1)Jim B.
Pita Inn is without a doubt the best fast food option anywhere, IMO. The food is fresh, and you get a lot of it for a reasonable price. I almost always opt for the "lunch special", which provides enough food for 2 lunches for only $4.95.
(5)Mjc M.
NEVER AGAIN
(1)SWAPNA B.
I'll.
(5)Jo N.
Very disappointed with this place. Didn't feel to well after eating here.
(1)Sean P.
Price is right for the amount of food you get. Taste is good but a little different and hard to adjust to. Not bad, just different. Employees are friendly and helpful.
(3)Carol Y.
(5)Edwin M.
(5)Amy R.
I am so happy to be able to update my review! I had an awesome falafel salad and will continue to go here. The staff at the front was great taking my order, and I am hooked on the mint ice tea! It was a great healthy stop for food and quick. The place is so clean!
(5)Justin F.
Great service from employees! However, the food tasted processed & reheated on a grill, to add on the bread was hard. Much potential to improve though! They can learn from other Mediterranean restaurants to serve only homemade and not fast food style.
(2)M B.
(5)Keenan J.
Definitely will come back again
(5)Ed F.
(2)Fuad A.
chicken shawarma is good love the food here is very consistent
(5)Abha S.
The best mediterranean food. Love the falafals and the shwarma and the tahini and the hot sauce. No other place matches the hot sauce they serve here. Yum. You need to open a branch in the Northwest/West suburbs !!
(4)Ryan M.
I love this place. I think I've visited each location now.
(5)Vishal B.
(5)Farhan S.
(5)Steve G.
Enjoyed lunch with family yesterday 7/1. Vegetarian combo platter and baba ghannoug and stuffed grape leaves filled us up. Super fresh and bursting of flavor like I remember from eating at the original Skokie location. Hot sauce is still tops.
(4)Lee L.

Does not get any better even with lines if you can't handle a wait during the rush hours stay away

update: they've recently increased their business lunch special price by $1.00, which is fine. the reason they've lost 1 star from me, is, because they have signs up for "side orders," which the tiny cup of hot sauce is listed on. they're charging $.50 for one tablespoon worth of hot sauce...unacceptable....I really hate being nickled and dimed like that. it's bad customer service. what a shame. I love the food, but I've always come here for the great value. however, I don't see value in charging people separately for every little thing, especially for some hot sauce!

Absolutely in love! I love the stuffed grape leaves! I stop here every time I come home from school (sometimes twice a trip home c:)

Great deal. Enjoyed a fantastic falafel sandwich for $3.75. Always busy be prepared to wait 10 minutes for your food. Worth the wait!

Good food but service can be slow. I always enjoy coming here. Never disappointed.

The Pita Inn exceeded my expectations. Not only was the food great, but the prices were low and all members of the staff were friendly and energetic. Highly recommend.
