I called to have dinner delivered and the person who answered was kind and patient (I didn't have the menu in front of me). Food was delivered timely and it was so good. So far, the best soup from a Chinese restaurant in Mundelein :)

What is my usual compaint about chinese food? That it's too salty. I wanna fill my belly with lo mein and chop suey, not water. Anyhow, live right by here but only been here twice. Food is really pretty good. Prices are pretty good too. Would never eat in because although the dining room is large, the service is barely functioning at best. Friendliness or customer service is not what you come here for, therefore the shortest interaction possible, i.e. takeout, is best. Once again... food is good. Can't complain about finding good ethnic food way up here.

Speedy delivery, not too salty. But some dishes could be spicier.

This is our default choice for Chinese food. 99% of the time we get takeout, which we assume 99% of China Court's customers do as well, otherwise they would have gone out of business long ago. We say this because you can almost always count the number of customers in the dining room on one hand. We have dined in a couple times and found the service to be adequate. There is no real benefit to dining in, unless you're from out of town. Given its location, in the middle of Mundelein next to the recently closed Dominick's, we suspect China Court gets few out-of-town patrons. The takeout menu is large as one would expect. We usually opt for a couple chicken dishes. The Mongolian Chicken is one of our favorites. Portion sizes are decent and prices are reasonable. But there is just nothing that would distinguish China Court from any other neighborhood Chinese restaurant. In a saturated market, we can only give it 3 stars.

Been going here for years. Probably the best Chinese food around Mundelien to Grayslake! Now I will say the cooking has been sort of bland the last year or so... until today. Todays food was really exceptional! Fresh green onions in Mongolian beef, good spice on Thai chicken spaghetti, and good sauce with jade duck. I just can't say enough about our Mark today; this was takeout. Service in Dining room is not spectacular, but the food is good so I don't care. Had lunch a bunch of times here and they get you out fast if you needed a short lunch to get back to work.

I frequent this place for lunch every other week. What I like best is "Cloth Napkins" for a six dollar lunch - no cheep paper napkins. I've had every item on their lunch special menu. My favorite is beef with green beans as the beans are slight charred for a great taste.

I agree with other reviewers here, service is awful. Food is pretty decent and I do not think there is a better option in the area. Best Hunan closed in Vernon Hills and Silk Mandarin is overpriced for mediocre food. I think the buffets and take out only places are killing good Chinese restaurants. :(

We've tried all the take out places in town and this one is the best! It was nice to find this kind of cooking, have not seen for many years outside of China Town! No globby over salted sauce here everything was well balance and flavorful. The veggie fried rice was very good not just rice with frozen bagged mixed veggies like what I've been seeing out there. Portions were ampule with plenty for the next day!

Great place for take out but make sure that you pick up. Their delivery service is worse than their actual costumer service. Not great to try new things here but if theres something you like stick with it.

Ate here one night when I got hungry at the Dominick's next door. I was impressed! Thought it would be a typical chinese grease pit, but just the opposite. Very clean, large dining room, full bar, even tablecloths! We were the only people dining in, so the service was good. The waitress talked me out of the healthier 'steamed' option, and I ordered the traitional Chicken w/ Broccoli. I was delighted that when we got our food, the sauce was light anyway, and not overpowering or greasy. Huge portion, had enough for lunch the next day. I'm not a huge Chinese food conoisseur, usually dislike the typical dirty buffets. China Court (NOT a buffet) was definitely a step above. Relaxing quiet dinner. Would definitely go back. Take out must be good too- TONS of people coming in to pick up orders.

Having lived in the city, close to Chinatown, I missed (still do, every day!) good Chinese food. When I moved to the burbs, i tried a lot of places, and this one was pretty high on my list. They had decent food, reasonable prices, and even though their service was always terrible, it was worth getting take out when I really had a craving for Chinese. Recently their food quality has taken a dip. The hot and sour soup just doesn't taste right anymore, and it's really gelatinous, can't explain it any better than it's just not right. I remove white onions from every dish, and that almost always poses a problem. They either leave it in, remove all other veggies (have you ever had mongolian beef with nothing but beef and sauce?), etc. Never an easy feat, so I have to check my food before I drive out of the lot. As for their sushi, I'd suggest you stick with Chinese food. I'm hoping this is just a short-lived snag and their food quality/preparation will go back up. But I'm definitely back on the hunt for a new place to make my go-to.

Went for dinner for the second time. Very disappointing. The food was good, but the restaurant was filthy. We counted seven tables that were never cleared the entire time we were there and one couple came in and left before being waited on. On their way out, we heard them tell the staff that they weren't going to eat there because the place was too dirty. Out of curiousity, I went into the ladies room. Filthy! I will never eat there again. It makes me wonder how dirty the kitchen is. Also, service was very slow.

Solid take-out place for Chinese food. The prices are good. We've ordered the egg rolls and orange chicken both times... Still have to find a good second dish though!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
