Sure this place has seen better days but if you want REAL Chinese food then this is the place. Mr Ho the owner makes his own eggrolls which are the best I've ever eaten. I've never been disappointed with any of the food I've had here. The name Cliff and Tommys is from a former owner of the place and the name was never changed. Next door and part of the building is a bar called Mulligans which lots of people order to-go when leaving. The interior could use an update but the food is worth the visit. Closed on Mondays too.

this place is not good. my wife and I have had takeout here 4-5 times. I wanted it to be good because this town lacks diversity. so I kept going back. the last time my wife asked me not to get food there but I insisted it was as good as any Chinese. not true. anything that was fried had an old-burnt fryer oil taste. we threw away the orange chicken and barely swallowed general tsaos beef. what the other reviewer said about the wait time is spot on. every time I get there at the 20-25 min they say on the phone and every time I wait an additional 10-15min. I think they only start cooking the food when you arrive. do yourself a favor, don't eat here.

If you want the best Mai Tai you've ever had, don't come here. However, if you'd like a really boozy drink that's only $5 and calls itself a Mai Tai, this is totally the place to go. It's the same story with the Piña Colada. Though, the latter tastes much more like what it purports to be. If you want decent Chinese food, this is also a good option for the area. My friend recently moved to Monee and we've been trying to check out the local eateries. We came here right before the blizzard to have dinner and stock up on leftovers for the next day. The "Dinner for Two" provided a bit of both. Our starters were the highlight of the meal. The Egg Drop Soup is wonderful. If I lived in the area, I'd be buying this by the gallon. We also both enjoyed the Egg Rolls. They were fried to perfection. The entrées were good, too. The Chicken Subgum was much better than the Beef & Broccoli, but the Beef & Broccoli is about what you'd expect to be served at most cheap Chinese joints. At the very least, I can say it was predictable and the Subgum exceeded expectations. Dessert consisted of Almond Cookies, but I didn't get to try those. I did get a couple Fortune Cookies at the end, though. They were standard and one of the better brands, in my opinion. Come for the Egg Rolls and Chicken Subgum. Stay because you'll get a DWI from the cocktails.

We (my family and I) enjoy the food at Cliff and Tommy's... the Tommy Special is great. Add in cantonese pan-fried noddles, egg rolls, bbq pork and some beef with broccoli and I'm set. The crispy won ton with some hot yellow mustard and shoyu mix... awesome. It's the closest to Chinese food in Hawaii that we have found up here...

Against my better judgment, I went to a Chinese place called "Cliff & Tommy's." The American sound of the place should have set me off. The building is probably as old as Monee itself, more than likely an original landmark. And it smelled like it. The smell of cooking and mildewy carpet does not help one's appetite. Ordered the tangerine beef, white rice, General Tso's chicken, egg drop soup, and crab rangoon. It's hard to jack up white rice, so I will not comment. The beef and chicken seemed to come in the same brown, mostly tasteless, slightly bitter, sauce. The chicken was overcooked, and the beef inedible. Let me also note that I have never seen egg drop soup come orange instead of yellow. It was almost the colour and texture of the duck sauce that came in the packets along with the meal. The only redeeming feature (and the sole reason I did not starve this evening) was the crab rangoon. Hot, crispy, filled nearly to bursting with cream cheese and crab. Hence the 1 out of 5 stars here. Unfortunately, not enough to make me want to go back.
