Wide selection of their own craft beers as well as seasonal offering. All made in house or at their local brewery. All delicious. Food menu is broad with delicious soups, sandwiches and salads. Daily specials are always good. Burger basket Tuesday is a local institution and always packs the house. Indoor and patio seating. Service is good but can be variable depending on the crew and crowd. Prices are reasonable. Specials are a deal. Definitely recommended.

So if it was just a brewery....beer only... I'd give it at least four stars. The ambiance and building itself were really great. Loved the layout, the building itself, the bar, and the overall feel of the place. Service, though a bit slow, was friendly and helpful. The beer was good - not great - but definitely good. I particularly liked the sweet potato ale. Very unique. The jalapeño ale was different, but in a good way. I have to say that we were underwhelmed with the food. The portions were particularly small, and my wife's steak was VERY dry and flavorless. She was disappointed, to say the least. My bangers and mash were passable - definitely better than the steak. The sausages were good, the "mash" seemed microwaved with some cheese thrown on top. Was hoping for a great meal. Instead I left feeling "meh," and my wife left hungry. But again, the beer was good and the space was cool. Re-vamp the kitchen - completely - and they'll be in much better shape.

I've been wanting to check out some more local breweries, and decided to stop here with my friends and family when I was in town. Right off the bat I liked the atmosphere - an industrial yet homey feel with blues music playing in the background. You can sit at the bar or get a table. Since there was so many of us, we got a table. The service was mediocre. Our server left us hanging a few times, and I didn't think she was that friendly. If it wasn't for the service, I would give this place 5 stars. My friend and I decided to get a flight and try a few beers. I ordered 4 of their lightest beers. The sweet potato ale was definitely my favorite (I ordered another whole glass later on). The Mississippi Blonde was not good (to me). It tasted like they put some of the Mississippi in it. Everyone else seemed to like their choices (especially the raspberry). As far as food goes, it is pretty typical bar food. Burgers, sandwiches, chicken fingers, etc. We ordered the chicken wings and the BBQ Pulled Pork potato appetizers to share. The wings were great, but I would eat a whole bowl of just the pulled pork. So good! If I go back I'm going to get the sandwich. A nice addition to the QCA (just needs a little help in the service department)!

I've been here twice, one with my grandma & the other with my dude. Beer options are great - varied weights & tastes, something for everyone. Food options are varied, and I like that they actually incorporate their brews into their dishes. Some places, oddly, do not. Service is okay - don't go if you're in a hurry, but that's not a bad thing - it's a graet place to relax.

I used to go here all the time before it turned into restaurant (which was mediocre at best). Great beer... definitely try an Uncommon Stout on tap sometime. I don't know if it's still overwhelmingly packed with hippies or not, but beware. Can get packed and very loud. Recommend trying it for a first time on a quiet afternoon or slow evening. I've been there a few times with questionable service (primarily on the far more busier nights) but all-in-all the beer compensates for any potential bad service.

Forever my favorite brewery in the QC.

If you keep reading the reviews you will see a trend with this place. Great beer. Terrible service. You would think the ownership would fire the waitstaff. Bartenders are okay. But to be a server here you need zero experience, 21 years old, and not give a crap attitude. I've been here upwards of a 100 times and I will say the beer is the best around. However about 90% of the time I get terrible service. By terrible service I mean; not getting noticed for 10-15 minutes when you come in. Then waiting 10 for drinks to come to table. And if you're coming here for dinner... Haha just hope they even remember you ordered. They are used to not getting tipped by people. It is a very common practice here. Don't feel bad.

Welp. What can you say about a joint like this. Probably have had over 100 beers from here. Seems like they've progressively gotten more watered down, but hey, 2.50 pints on Tuesdays is great. Burger baskets used to be great, but the patties seem to be smaller every time I order one. But hey... I keep going back. Good beer and good times with friends.
(4)Christopher M.
I've never had a bad beer here, and they have a fine outdoor patio to enjoy a beer or two. They know what they are: a solid brewery where you come to enjoy some beers. They don't try to be anything else, and luckily they know this fact. 168/365

Worst. Service. Ever. The service is so awful I don't even know how they're still in business.
(1)Chris D.
wicked beer, but the service is so awful that I've never been able to try the food. march 8th, I flagged a waitress down with my order ready. she told me,"I'll have a server right with you", and an hour and a half later my friend flagged down the same waitress informing her of my intentions... "the bartender can help you" 30 minutes later another server attempted to take my order, but I had to refuse since I'd already been offended by their work ethic.

Extremely disappointed. The beer was very good (I'd definitely recommend the jalapeño beer and the raspberry Shandy) but we waited for our food for over an hour and a half and we're then told that the ticket 'never printed ' and there was nothing they could do about it. The worst part about it was after waiting patiently because we could see that it was busy, we actually asked the waitress where our appetizer was and she checked and said it didn't print and it would be at least another half an hour until it would be out. So we wanted to make sure that our food order went through and she assured us that it did and would be out soon. After an hour and a half we again asked about the status of our food and we were told that it never printed and if we wanted to order again we could but we would have 'at least 20 orders ahead of us ' she did bring us some free chips and salsa (and one of us got a free beer but I didn't even have time to drink it) but we had no food with no other options. We did ask if there was anything on the menu that they could rush us (maybe a salad or anything) but she said that there was not. So after showing up early and watching everyone around us eat we left extremely hungry. I understand that stuff happens but we specifically asked to make sure the meal order was in. If we had known it was not we could have either reput it in or gone somewhere else.

I spend so much time fantasizing about my hometown brewery. Just make sure you sit at the bar because most of their servers are incredibly rude and smell like cigarettes. I do wish they had the Strawberry Ale more often!
(5)Larry E.
We were visiting friends in Quad Cities area and they recommended Bent River. I was very happy we listened to them. The staff and service were wonderful, the food was crazy good (I had the whole catfish), and the prices were very reasonable. The best part was the honey butter on their homemade bread. I could have made a meal out of just that. Also a big variety of handcrafted beer. This will be my first stop next time I am in town.
(5)Matthew M.
Awful beer, shitty food, shitty service. There are much better places to go to eat and with way better beer. Used to be good but been going down hill for years w new management.
(1)Andy S.
Great Beer....worst service ever. Burgers were over cooked and it took 10 mins to get a beer...we timed it.
(2)Katie W.
Beer is awesome, but service is horrible! You will have to wait very long for a beer to be served by a too busy for friendly conversation employee. While there I set my wallet down on the counter in front of the register and a man tapped my shoulder asked me a question and I turned around and my wallet was gone. With in 15 min the thieves had racked up over $200 in charges. They obviously have crooks at the bar. Watch your personal belongings while there! I live in new Orleans and have never had anything like that happen to me there. What the heck Moline?
(1)Randall G.
Definitely a great spot for a local beer (a huge mug for $4.50 on Sundays!) but skip the lackluster (and usually cold) food options. We enjoy sitting on the back patio in the summer.
(4)Bob R.
Like many of the reviews, beer was great, food was OK. There for an early new years Eve dinner and getting my growlers refilled. Steady but not packed. Attentive friendly service. Onion ring app was good. Light, not greasy. Loved the spicy ketchup. Burger with bacon and bratwurst topper was OK. Seemed smallish. Sloppy assembly and presentation. Lazy staff to prepare and serve that way. Fries were standard crinkles. All this made it seem a bit pricey. May return If in the area but won't drive an hour plus again just for this. The great beer "Uncommon" is sold locally.
(3)Colin C.
Big fan if this place. Food is ok bar food but better than most. Fried pickles and many of the apps are delicious. The beer selection is excellent, albeit a bit pricey. Lots of great draft choices that change often. Bottle choices are excellent too as well. Coffee, jalapeño, oatmeal, sweet potato, etc are all options for draft. Many strong beers and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about the different options as well.
(4)Ben R.
Always a local favorite for great beer! I met my wife for a pint and lunch, the pint was great but the food was so-so. Bent has a nice patio in the back that you can take advantage of great weather. The music was too loud and when we asked if it could be turned down, we were informed the volume dial was broken. No worries though, we had great beer to take our minds off of it? Love the Uncommon Stout and Raspberry Wheat! Get Bent!!!
(3)An H.
The beer here is wonderful, but the place is the absolute pinnacle of pretentiousness in the QCA. The faux beards, tight pants, and one speed bicycles just make you long for a time before hipster kids. If you can handle that, you'll enjoy this place, if not, try their rock island brewery which is much less ridiculous.
(3)David B.
I go when it is slow, and the beer is the best I've had, uncommon stout and the seasonal sweet potato ale!
(4)Amy G.
Jalapeño pepper ale...I had just tried it the night before at El Bait in Des Moines. It was so tasty, a stop at Bent River Brewery was in order on the way back to Chicago, even in a crazy blizzard. The brew pub stays open until 3am most nights. Really? Moline, Illinois I would have pegged you a little differently. The local patrons seemed liked they might truly stay all night. And why not? There is plenty of beer to try, but I do recommend the Jalapeno and the award-winning stouts. I appreciated the detailed menu behind the bar noting IBUs and ABV. I look forward to going back when there is not a foot of dirty snow on the road. There should be a new kitchen by then too.
(4)Samantha C.
I am not a fan of this place. My husband likes it so we come fairly often, but it's just not very good. The food is all around bad. I've been here at least 10 times, ordered a different thing each time, and every single time it's been bad. Everything is flavorless, cold, and boring- the entrees, sides, salads, apps, you name it. Never been a huge fan of their beer either. The vast majority of their beers are either tasteless or too fruit-forward, and they usually pour flat. Every now and then there's a decent one though. If you have to come here, I'd say the Rock Island location has better ambiance, a nice patio, and a better selection. I always enjoy the experience more there. Either way, plan on eating elsewhere.

I was in the area on Friday so I stopped in to check it out. As other reviewers have noted, the parking situation is a little tricky. I was lucky enough to find a parking spot on the street right out front, but I could see how this could get really tricky as the night goes on and it gets busier. There is a parking lot right across the street but it is posted for bank business only. Make sure to scout out public parking areas before you head down to visit. We walked in and the layout is a little peculiar. You can tell that it's two separate store fronts that they took the wall out between to open up for extra seating. It's not large, but large enough for a brewpub. Right behind the bar they have some gorgeous copper fermenters. I love the look of cooper! It's so much nicer than Stainless steel... however Stainless is easier to maintain so I understand why most brewers use it now. We had already eaten lunch so we only grabbed some appetizers to help cleanse the pallet and work as a beer sponge. My wife and I had an order of the pretzels, which was more like two small pretzel bread rolls with a stout mustard dipping sauce. Our friends ordered the fried pickle chips. Both were pretty good, but nothing great. I really cannot comment on the rest of their food. I had some really good beer from them and they do some pretty unusual beers. Unfortunately they were out of their Sweet Potato Beer. I had the Jalapeno Beer, which I loved. I like a good pepper beer. During my visit I also had the Uncommon Stout, Mississippi blonde, Strawberry ale and their specialty the Chocolate Imperial Stout. Nothing was bad, but this review is about the local not the beer. When we walked in my friend asked a couple of the regulars what they would recommend, they said the Uncommon Stout, but warned us to not try the Chocolate Imperial Stout. To quote my friend, "I do believe those ol' boys were fibbing to us in order to save it for themselves." So beware the locals, we think they try to protect their favorite beers. The prices here are on par with what you would get in most brewpubs I've visited. The service was okay at best. I'm not sure if they only had one waitress working while we were there or what but we would sit longer than we should have with empty glasses. I know that I sent her into the back to look for a shirt I was interested in purchasing, but that was once when she disappeared. I don't know what happened the other times. Service can be a little on the iffy side. What really surprised me is that this brewpub not only sold beer that was made by other craft brewers, but they had it on tap as well. I can't recall another time when I was at a brewpub that that had beers on tap that where not their own. I've seen it where they had it bottled, just not on tap. I don't know how much of it they sell. Bent River makes some really outstanding beers why would you want something you can get other places when you are there?

I LOVE this place. As others have said the food is nothing to write home about, but then not many bars have fine cuisine. The beer on the other hand is excellent. I love the jalapeno beer. It's not really spicy, but gives you a good jalapeno flavor. The uncommon stout is excellent too. The crowd is pretty diverse, but mixes well. I've never seen any fights, which is rare for a bar. Every once in a while you might get a few loud college kids, but nothing too serious. Overall I give it 5 stars for the beer, not so much for the food. As another poster said eat somewhere else first, then come here for some great after dinner drinks.

I showed up at Bent River before they started brewing for themselves. So hang in there for this review because it's kind of dated. I also went when it was so hot I almost Wicked Witch of The West'd it all over the floor. So again, this is dated. My bestie and I walked in and ordered a mixture of the Oatmeal Stout and the Raspberry. 'Twas delicious as usual. We sat down in the restaurant right in front of the bar and hunkered down for some serious gossip. LIttle did we know, there was NO AIR CONDITIONING. I don't know if you remember the summer that may or may not have just ended, but sticking a whole bunch of innocent people without any air conditioning whilst they sip on delicious brews felt like torture. My beer got warm so quickly! Anyways we went outside to their beer garden and were able to see the night sky as we chit-chatted. It was a major improvement but still a bummer that we couldn't be inside at all. I hear that at this point, they're brewing the exact same stuff as the Moline location, which boggles my mind. Now all those Quad Citians will have double the Bent River. Which is great in some respects, but when you realize that variety is the spice of life, I'd rather go to Against the Grain with my homies, where they rotate beer menu. Just sayin'.

The beers are delicious! However.. That's the only good thing about this place. Tonight was the first time I've actually had a friendly encounter w/ one of the servers here. Normally everyone is so rude it's unbelievable. It's a shame because I LOVE their beer! Definitely make sure to come down around the holidays when they brew their Jingle Java. It's everything you love about Christmas in a cup.
(4)Jonathan P.
I love bent! Spicy ketchup. Beer changes with the seasons. This is always I must stop when I come to moline. So what are you waiting for? It's time to get bent!
(5)Dan E.
My roster of Quad cities reviews continues. There are four or five breweries in the area and all are pretty decent. It was a Tuesday night and they had $2.50 pint specials for all their brewed beers. I was like a child in a candy store but unfortunately I was driving so being the responsible adult I am I capped it at two beers. Well anyway I had a Pale Ale followed by a Mississippi Blonde. Anyway, I thought their pale ale was an incredible beer. The Mississippi Blond was a crisp lighter beer. I probably should have had them in the reverse order. The crowd was, well, uh... being from Chicago I would describe it as a Clark Street Wrigleyville crowd. Youth IS wasted on the young. But at least the youth of Moline have incredible beer to go along with it. My bartender that night was Debbie and she was great. She explained the beers and offered samples.

First the good. The beer is fantastic but should be because it's a BREWERY!!! The setting of the brewery is OK downtown but there's doesn't appear to be much else around it except a stellar chocolate shop. The dining area is clean and organized. The food is acceptable but nothing special. Now the bad. The service was terrible. We seated ourselves which was a mistake because we went unnoticed for sometime until I practically tackled a waitress. She wanted us to order immediately but since we had never been there before we had questions ... which she really didn't want to answer. We got a burger platter and carp, or whatever type of fish it was, but tasted OK. Both were expensive for what you got. The fries with both plates looked like the frozen Ore Ida stuff I had as a kid but worse. It was no wonder the place was less than half full on a weekend afternoon. However, not all was lost, I had a pretty good buzz going after the great beer! My recommendation; go for the beer, eat elsewhere cheaper and better.
(3)Lee L.
This is one of my favorite bars in the QC. They make my all time favorite coffee beer, the Uncommon Stout. The food is basic bar fare. The burger baskets are good. Come for the beer and casual atmosphere.
(5)Scott S.
I wish we would have had a chance to taste their beer and food, but upon entering today the bartender explained to us that while they would like our business, because of their 3 a.m. liquor license, minors are never allowed on the premises, so trying to have lunch with wife and 6-year-old daughter was a complete fail. Looked interesting with all those brew tanks right behind the bar. I'll update with more stars when I get a chance to sample, but it is an unfortunate no-kids policy IMO.

After sitting on the interstate for a while because of an accident we decided to go sit down and get some food. We like breweries so we decided to give this one a try. My wife was not to excited about the location, it didn't look like a great part of town. We are not from here so can't say for sure. Our first impression once inside was not the best, we came in the front door but it felt more like the back. No one said anything to us and we wandered around looking for someone to let us know where to sit. Finally i went up to the bar to ask but the bartender started talking to the person standing behind me. Finally he told me we could sit anywhere, i suggest a sign stating that on the front door would be nice. Most places you wait to be seated. Then we sat and waited. Probably 10 minutes went by and no one came to our table. Finally a waitress noticed us and was truly sorry no one had stopped by. Things got much better after that. The service from then on was excellent, and the food and beer was great. I had the Amber Ale and a bacon cheese burger. The meat on my burger was on the small side, but i didn't leave hungry. The beer was large and on special, good deal. My wife liked her beer and cheese soup, and the sandwich she had. Not many veggies on the menu, so we gave our daughter some mashed potatoes, but some broccoli or something like that would have been a nice option.
(4)Brian B.
The food was good, I have had the beer many times and got two growlers on my last trip. The prices were average, but the men's restroom smelled horribly like urine!!!! I went twice this week because I am in town for training and it stunk both times.
(4)Harry G.
Beer is excellent I had the Jameson stout it was smooth and delicious. I had the Wisconsin pub burger which had outstanding favors. The little improvement could be a medium cool vs well done on the beef.
(4)Douglas A.
Great beer! Wish you had sweet potato beer! Awesome place! Good luck!! I had the paddle wheel pale ale it's ok! The Irish brown ale is prolly my next favorite! They have popcorn as well! Easy to find and nice bartender!
(4)Heather W.
Great food and great beer. Had a wonderful pulled pork sandwich with fried pickles and meatloaf with beer gravy. The staff is enthusiastic about the beer and food (shout out to Robin, a staff member that was spending her off hours there and made great recommendations). This could be my local hangout if it wasn't a 3 hour drive to get here! Really enjoyed the entire experiance. An easy walk from stony creek inn.
(5)Van S.
Traveled to moline on business and local person picked the place. It was a nice place to go for a business trip. There was a festive mood on a Thursday night with live music. Musicians sounded great. Beer was very good with some good choices from light to dark. Staff was friendly and they were also having a good time. Food choices were limited this night due to special event. Kobe hamburger hit the spot maybe a little pricy for a burger but it's "Kobe" I suppose. Still it was good. I did notice that despite the music and lively crowd I could still talk with my friend. That's nice. Definite worth going here when in Moline. Seems like its alway a good time here.
