this place is very hit or miss. I really want to like it! ...... First of all, no wifi in a breakfast place? We came the morning after a snow storm - understaffed which is understandable. What's not is watching the owner drink coffee behind the counter while the servers and kitchen staff run their asses off. When someone would come in the door or walk up to pay, she'd shove food in her mouth before heading their way. The coffee cup that was preset on our table had food stuck to the side. The jam packet I picked up was leaky. There is no attention to detail here so I wonder how the kitchen looks. Food is usually good but overpriced for what you get. I'm just not a fan.

Not a great Father's Day breakfast experience. My wife checked in and was told 15-20 minute wait, after an hour, I went up to see what was taking so long, I learned they had accidentally scratched our name off of the list. No apology. I put my name in, when I went and told my wife, she went up and saw how our name had been scratched off, try told her she'd get the next available table. Of course, they called the name I put in a few minutes later. My eggs benedict was pretty good. Nice and fresh, well prepared. My wife's Mexican eggs benedict was terrible. I'm pretty sure they gave her ground chuck spiced up and said it was chorizo. Eggs were a disaster. When the waitress came around, my wife said it wasn't anything she could eat. By this point, she was starved but simply couldn't take how crummy it tasted. The waitress kindly offered a replacement dish which came incredibly fast (same as mine, also not bad) When I went up to pay the bill, the cashier asked how everything was, I said, "not great, we waited an hour to get seated because they accidentally crossed off our name," she then interrupted me and said, "yea, we're pretty slammed." Funny, I didn't get the slammed pricing or the slammed discount. Last time I go on a holiday. Learned how the front of house treats customers: give us your money and go. Too bad. I miss the quality and service of Blackberry. If they were still open, I would never go back to double yolk. That place understood both quality good and how to treat a customer. Funny, Father's Day breakfast, I'm carrying my daughter and no one even said happy Father's Day, ex of course other customers.

This is just my opinion and based off of personal observation, I encourage you to make your own opinion. The food is decent and consistent here and you get fairly large portions. Personally I enjoy my meals and walk out stuffed. We have come here from the start and a lot of the waitstaff is the same, friendly faces that are always nice to see. The place needs to have some maintenance done, the booths are showing quite a bit of wear and generally the place is not as clean as it once was. One of the emergency lights in the kitchen has been broken and a lens hanging from it for quite a long time now. The air hoods pull out a lot of air making the front doors hard to open (to the owner; you'd probably save a buck or two on heating/cooling by having an outside air return near the air hoods to balance the building) My opinion is that all of this is probably indicative of the general state of maintenance throughout. But, really.. I can live with all of that... The purpose of my review today is that for each of the last several times (10 or so) we have come here the bathrooms have been disgusting and each time I mention it to someone and it doesn't change.

I returned here for a Christmas brunch with a group and I was surprised how much I liked my meal. Great orange juice and waffle, really hot coffee. My daughter was yearning for breakfast at night and we were able to come here and get it. Once more, I was really pleased with my food particularly the orange juice. My granddaughter is potty training so we visited the restrooms 8 times and you get to know a bathroom pretty well, these are really clean. I came back with my husband and again, I was thrilled with my skillet and ham. Plus their Orange juice is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They make it right there with real oranges, It is fresh and super pulpy. I adore it. I was wrong, this is a great place for breakfast. Even at night!

I paid $9.15 today for one egg, toast and 4 slices of orange-pink tomatoes that. Was told by the owner in a very unapologetic tone, "sorry, that's what we pay". I could believe it if it was a free range egg, an organic tomato that looked and tasted like a tomato and quality bread. But it wasn't. So won't go back.

I've only actually sat down like three-four times. My family usually orders out so we can eat in our PJS at home. And every time we order stuff to go there's a ton of stuff either wrong/missing from our order. When we call back to tell them there's stuff missing they don't do anything about it. Not even an apology, no discount, nothing. So we're basically giving them money, so that's pretty great. Take out portions aren't as good at in restaurant portions. When I have gone in to eat there, no matter how busy/empty the place is we always have to wait for service. Like 15+ minutes to either be seated or the first time the waitress comes around. Now I would be okay with that on a busy day but we always try to go on a slower/random day. And when the food comes it always comes lukewarm. Plus their coffee sucks. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks and go to Lumes down the street...

The breakfast food is very good.I have had the Italian skillet, the gypsy skillet and I've had the ham and cheese omelet. The food was delicious and the portions are big enough for 2people.I always have left overs.I've always gotten take out so I don't know how the service is but every time I picked up my food it was hot and ready to go.I've never had to wait. Some day I will go for dinner.

I was a huge fan of this place when they first opened. They have just consistently gone down hill since then though. The service is friendly but the food always has an off taste to me. Everything seems likes its almost stale for some reason. The prices are low but they nickel and dime you for everything. There are much better options in the immediate area.

I was there today and the hostess was just so rude and unpleasant in my opinion. I've been here numerous times, servers are always delightful. Food tastes good, but this woman was just not friendly. I asked for a Togo menu, then placed my order. She said the food would be about 15 mins.. no problem. 10 mins later I asked to pay (I love 20 mins away, so wanted to utilize my time so my food didn't have to wait any longer) she said hold on I need to ring in your food.. thinking to myself "ok what have u been doing the last 10 mins?" She came back and then took someone who placed their order after me.. when I had just asked to pay.. then after that woman, she took a patrons bill so they can pay! Are you kidding. I'm standing right in front of you and was here before everyone else!! My food was awful. Patty melt was absolutely awful. Will never go back.

Too loud, too slow and my wife's meal wasn't prepared as was specified on the menu. We waited 20 minutes for water. When our name was called after a 25 minute initial wait the individual In charge of calling out names was barely audible. Wake up Mokena! You've got better alternatives.

I've visited Double Yolk multiple times mostly due to the overall lack of restaurants in the area. It is always busy on the weekends, especially on holidays. I usually choose between the healthy egg white omelette or the Almost Heavenly nutella pancakes, depending on what mood I'm in haha. If you go for an omelette, I would plan on sharing with someone else, they're huge. I think the food is mediocre, but I'm not generally a fan of breakfast food.

Just left this restaurant, sat there for 15 minutes!! No one came by, no water, nothing. Me and my wife just got up and left. Will never go back.

Food is ok... Sometimes. Not as good as several other breakfast or diners in the area. They have a few breakfast dishes that others in the area do not have. Like a Saginaki omelet which is flamed table side. Oppa! It is decent like the club sandwiches except for the turkey club. Ham off the bone is very good. Sometimes the real turkey is. Be aware that it comes with a small amount of dry turkey slivers. Happened more than once. The hash browns suck. They use some kind of funky grease that has a weird after taste. Service is decent to good depending who you get. There is always a wait on Sunday mornings. Not sure why as there are several other better places in the area. Also the owner has questionable manners. How do you never acknowledge or say hello to regulars? Also when I complained about the turkey club he looked at me with total indifference and did not say word or offer to do anything about it. As such we have stopped coming here. There are several much better choices in the area.

OMG...I just watched the owner tell a guest to leave because she asked how much longer the wait was...How Rude! They told us the wait was 15 minutes and we waited 40 minutes. Over priced food, misrepresented wait time and an ungrateful rude owner will definitely mean we will never be back! Shame on you!

I told my boyfriend last night that I wanted pancakes for dinner but I didn't want to go to Denny's or IHOP. Most breakfast and brunch places close before dinner and so I wasn't very hopeful that I'd get my wish. But my boyfriend really delivered and found me this place. It's just down the street from where I work and was empty at night (explaining why most locally owned brunch places close before dinner). I got multi-grain pancakes with banana and chocolate chips. At first, I saw my plate and was a little disappointed because it didn't appear they added to the batter. But as I began to slice and dice these delicious cakes, I found that they did and was a happy camper. My boyfriend got the vegetarian benedict with has browns. The hash browns were crispy they way I love em, so I stole some and wow, they were good. I didn't try his benedict because it had onions on it but he loved it and gobbled it all down. Both of us commented that our portions were huge. I brought home half my pancakes for lunch the next day and am pretty happy with this place. Locally owned and good food, what more could I ask for? I cannot comment on the service since it was empty so the waitress was able to give us plenty of attention. Coffee was good and brought to us often. Overall, I'm a fan of this place!

Double Yolk is very good! I had the Italian Skillet, which had nice crispy hashbrowns, italian sausage, green peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese. One of the best skillets I have ever had. My girlfriend had the California Eggs Benedicts, topped with avocado and ham. I was jealous that I did not pick this because it looked really good. The service was good and the portion sizes were huge. I can eat a lot of food and almost could not make it to the end of my plate. The also serve fresh squeezed orange juice.

Food is good. Expensive for breakfast and lunch. I guess. When I have 3 people at the hostess booth it needs to be. Owners are rude. I won't be back. Wait staff is nice. 2 people and a child. 32 bucks. They must be crazy.

Every time I've gone here in the past was great, but recently, it was horrible. My mom and I were waiting for our food for 30 minutes+, our waitress was nowhere to be found, and when I did finally see her, she was standing around eating. I then got my skillet in a frying pan when everyone else around me had skillet plates. When the cashier asked how our food was, we didn't want to complain but they insisted we say what was wrong since you could see it on our faces. We then proceeded to complain about the waitress who barely paid attention to us, and receiving my food in a frying pan. The staff insisted that that's how it is served and I argued back that everyone else had plates. What was it that you wanted my complaint for if I didn't even get so much as an apology?! Food is sub par and the service is terrible...not to mention on the weekend you can't get a table in any short period of time. I'm probably gonna stay away for a while,

Hard to believe this restaurant is not jammed packed all the time. I always thought it was just a breakfast place and boy was I wrong. I've been coming here now on a regular basis for at least 6-8 months. The staff is always friend and prompt. I own a business and trying to satisfy all the people all the time is tough and especially in this type of business is hard, but I believe they do an excellent job. As I said I've been coming here now for a while and it's hard to believe a few of these bad reviews. Diner love the Greek skirt steaks (tender not like shoe leather) and potatoes, soups are excellent, hot turkey diner is another one, stuffed avocado...yum Breakfast be prepared to eat a lot and as far as the comment of being to crowded. Good food has a tendency to bring in a lot of people and they do get crowded on the weekends for breakfast. Service has always been great and worth the wait. Archie, Julie and the staff at Double Yolk have my vote !!!!! Diner lunch or breakfast

Went for dinner on a Friday night after finding a long wait at Tribes. We had the Oven baked Scrod with potato pancake which came with soup, Mac & cheese, cole slaw and dessert. Scrod was ok. Potato pancake was unusual and not very tasty. Soup was ok. The best item was the cole slaw. The other meal was spinach salad with grapes, walnuts, blue cheese and chicken. Balsamic vinegarette dressing and apples. Nothing was bad but it just wasn't that good. Overall, I may come back for breakfast but not for dinner.

The food here is pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but not bad enough to put me off completely either. I gave the two stars because of the service. We've had everything from downright rude to serviceable. I thought it was just me, but reading through some of the other reviews, I can see that it really is an issue. They've been here a while, so obviously they'er doing something right, but just imagine if they had good service. This place could be so much better.

Perfectly cooked eggs and a good amount of hash browns on the plate. However, the ham off the bone was pretty small and too salty. Wouldn't order it again but would come back to try some of the more creative offerings. Friendliness of my server was "meh." Mornings are not fun for any of us but c'mon!

After reading so many negative reviews I decided I have to go see if it's truly that bad. I wanted to try them just because it looked like a nice place. The food is definitely overpriced for the quality but I wouldn't say it's bad food. I had a cheese omlette which was ok nothing special and pancakes which were decent. The biscuits and gravy weren't that great as I tried my dads. The coffee was strong so use lots of cream. I didn't happen to see the owner or use the restrooms so as far as clean I can't say. The booth was dirty when we arrived but not too bad. I probably would say go somewhere else just because the other reviews are very similar in saying it's dirty and overpriced. They can't all possibly be wrong.

I went for lunch and a paper grading marathon in the mid afternoon when it was nice and slow, and interestingly had the same server as the first time I was there. This time, she was very warm and attentive. I explained to her that I'd be grading for a while and if her shift ended and she needed me to settle up before she left, no problem. She said, "We close at 9:00, so stay as long as you like!" I ordered an ENORMOUS chicken sandwich which came with soup (really good homemade chicken noodle), fries, and slaw. (I never order slaw, but eat it when it's in front of me, and it was very good!). The lunch was good, but I would probably get breakfast next time because their breakfast menu is just amazing.

Not a bad place but nothing great about it either. The food is pretty average, the wait staff pleasant but there are better choices in this area. The omelets are okay, the juice very low quality but the English muffins were good. I don't think there is anything outstanding about this restaurant. We tried it just to have a bit of variety but we won't be back. If I wanted to eat average food, I would stay home and make it myself.

We decided to have dinner there last night since the weather was bad and it was close by. I haven't eaten there in a while. It was Greek Night. Since I love Greek food, I thought I was in for a treat. The additional menu had all the Greek basics. My wife order the Greek steak, which she said was very good. I ordered the leg of lamb. It was very tough, sliced thin but still hard to cut. The sauce was not the red sauce the waitress said it came with, but rather some flour thickened goop. The Greek potatoes were good. Our Greek salads, while having different vegetables than the norm, was pretty good and decently sized. My son ordered the normal teen fare, a hamburger med-rare. There was no pink to be found. The waitress did offer to redo the burger, but we declined since my son was already full from the soup and fries. My biggest disappointment was at the very end. When paying our bill, the owner had the standard question of "Was everything OK?" My reply was "OK, at best". I guess I was surprised by his reply. He simply shrugged his shoulders and took my credit card. No offer of apology or concern. No question as to what the problem was. Obviously no concern for whether we would ever return, or write a review on Yelp. When this attitude is coming directly from the top, there is nothing more you can do except move on - and spread the word. We will not be returning to Double Yolk due to the overall experience. There are too many restaurants in the area that actually do care about what their patrons think. Don't ever take your customers for granted.

Yelp, we really need that half-star option, Double Yolk is a solid 3.5 star place. Very friendly and speedy service. Nice carafe of cold water with lemon immediately brought to the table, always. Good coffee. Not great soda (doesn't taste like Pepsi or Coke products). Gargantuan menu in that Chicago-area Greek restaurant kind of way. Breakfast offered all day long. Greek specials night once a week. If you like your eggs over-easy, you'll discover they have...double yolks (hence, the name!). Portions are typically huge. Menu offers a surprising array of lighter choices, and a wickedly good Cobb salad. Their french fries are wonderful. Soup options can be interesting, but are always really good. The major downside of Double Yolk is the cavernous interior. It doesn't feel charming or cozy, as so many breakfast/brunch places do. With hard surface flooring, and a wide open industrial-style high ceiling with no sound baffles, it gets to booming in here if you visit at a busy time. And it's not so great if you're bringing older folks who might have hearing issues. If Double Yolk is crowded, grandma or grandpa may not be able to participate in the conversation or even hear the waitress! It's an easy fix that I bet would boost their bottom line.

So my cousins and I just got through running the "Do The Griff" 4 mile race in Frankfort this past Sunday and we were all pretty hungry. My youngest cousin was my live Garmin navigator and directed me to Double Yolk. Hoppin' like most good restaurants on a Sunday morning, Double Yolk proved to be worth the wait. I opted for coffee and a small OJ and my cousins got chocolate milk and OJ. When it came to the food, I opted for the Kalmata omelet and my cousins enjoyed the French toast, waffles, bacon and hash browns. Can these kids eat! Overall, Double Yolk's happy wait staff and trendy atmosphere make it a breakfast-brunch experience worth savoring.

We came in Sunday for breakfast around 10:30am. The wait area was overcrowded, so we lingered near the door. The hostess curtly told us to move to the wait area. The owner asked us to follow him, got distracted, then asked us what we were doing. One of the wait staff was eating at the counter 10 feet away from our table, and was intermittently serving food without washing her hands. My wife's food was cold. My food was fine. Our waitress tried really hard but much of the staff was flat out rude. When asked how the food was at the register, I responded with "Oh, it was fine." The cashier didn't ask what could be better. This place is going downhill, I'm sad to say. Give your money to another local restaurant.

Called today to get a carry out order. The owner flat out refused to make my order gluten free. Do not eat here poor customer service and the owner is RUDE !!!
I have never had a bad dining experience at Double Yolk! The food is delicious, and portions are extremely generous, the staff is always inviting and friendly, and there is a great variety on the menu! Highly recommended!

Great family place and food is eggcellent (haha). Anyway, the staff is friendly and pretty good service here. We were here for Easter and the place was hoppin'. They had a bunny going around to all the tables for the kids, which I thought was awesome. There was a bit of await, even with a reservation, but it's to be expected on a holiday anyway. I want to come here again and try more of the items on the menu. There is a huge variety of ethnic foods and traditional foods as well. Check it out for sure.

Well it's the youngest daughters birthday and she decides she wants breakfast food for her meal. First she says she either wants to go to Eggcetera or Lumes in the Mokena and Frankfort area. Both would be very fine choices for a breakfast type of meal. But we end up running very late this Sunday morning/afternoon and she changes her mind and decides on the Double Yolk. We start by ordering the Saganaki for $5.95, flaming cheese and it was so good and crispy. We cut it into four pieces and truly enjoyed ourselves. It's been a while since we have had Saganaki and it truly hit the spot. My son and I both ordered the Greek Skirt Steaks, both medium well, I have raised him well. The order came with some delicious Green Beans too. I also received the Chicken Rice soup that reminded me of a Greek Lemon soup. It was really good. I also received rice and a side of bacon. My son received potatoes with his skirt steak. My wife ordered the Cheese Blintzes for $6.35 for an order. She says she gets these every time we eat here. She just loves them so much. Actually she loves the crape and not the sweet cheese so much. She also ordered a side of bacon too. My youngest daughter, the birthday girl, ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet for $7.35 an order. This came with Hash Brown potatoes and she received a side of bacon too. Also our super friendly and sweet waitress Christy gave my birthday daughter a free Blueberry muffin for her birthday. The staff sang her happy birthday and it was very nice of them. Well for the very friendly service and delicious tasting food our bill came to roughly $80 dollars. There was so much we all had left overs to bring home for a second and even in some cases a third meal.

Had a vegetarian Benedict.. Poached eggs are supposed to ooze when you cut into them..first batch were like hard boiled. second time around were perfect. Bathroom area reeks of cigarette smoke...gobs of dust above stall doors.. planter shelves full of dust... how hard is it to dust the ledge in the center of the restaurant??? My husband like this joint, I'm not impressed.

Good food at reasonable prices.service is very good. Great omelettes. We go there once a month. Only suggestion to them would be to put fruit on a cold plate instead of sharing plate with omelette. Huge portions. Worth trying.

We were actually excited to try this place. We waited 45 minutes and ended up walking out for the long wait and unattentive wait staff. I will tell my friends and relative about my bad experience. I will not go back.

My sister is in love with this place but I don't understand the hype. It's an average Greek family eatery without any identity. I have had dinner there a few times and left dissatisfied and kind of grossed out every time. Their chicken breasts are not trimmed, so there's flubbies on the edges and all sorts of stuff to pick off and eat around. Their breakfast dishes are pretty standard, aside from the saganaki omlet which is just too weird to eat. Either eat an omlet or eat some saganaki. Not both! Blech. I guess the best thing about this place is that it has an interesting name.

We waited a very long time (after they said the wait was 10-15 minutes) and we had my son's football game to get to. Once we were seated it took forever to get a server, she brought the wrong food to my husband and then when we were finished eating and ready to pay and leave, she was nowhere to be found. My husband went to the washroom with our boys and noticed she was outside smoking. She came in and didn't wash her hands but to make matters worse, she sprayed perfume on herself in the restaurant. She was standing in the area where the coffee, silverware and cups are located. It's right next to booths and tables...who wants to have perfume and the smell of cigarettes on their server with dirty hands. I'm surprised there isn't a review saying someone got sick eating here.

We stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon (about 2:30), so the place wasn't very busy at that time. Our waitress was very prompt and friendly. I opted for the spinach pie. Love spinach pie, but haven't had it in quite awhile. The spinach pie here was very good, seasoned just right, and just the right portion size. It came with cottage cheese, a very large side of fruit (pineapple, bananas, melon, and strawberries). It also included a pretty tasty warm muffin which came first, but I saved it for dessert. My wife had the chicken pesto Panini, which was HUGE! She said it was really good as well. Came with fries and excellent coleslaw, along with a cup of cream of chicken soup, which she also said was excellent. The other two members of our party ordered salads that were also HUGE! The portions here are very generous, and the prices very reasonable. The only negative was the fact that the floor was being mopped with a pine-sol smelling cleaner while we were there, and there was a mop bucket left in the dining room for awhile. Makes sense that they were cleaning the floor then since it was an off time, I guess, so not that big of a deal. I would definitely come back, but maybe next time for breakfast, as that's their specialty and the breakfast menu looked really good.

This is my new favorite for Sunday breakfast. I had the Denver omelet and pancakes. The omelet is huge, looks like a Nerf football. It is very good. The pancakes on the side made just right. Very filling and reasonable prices. Nice place usually crowded. The service is spotty some times very good other times not sure what is going on. Good place good food.

Solid option if you love breakfast all day. Great international options. I had the banana nut belgian waffle and it was pretty good.

Solid breakfast option in a more modern atmosphere. I was impressed with the selection of "international" skillet, omelet, waffle, crepe, blintz and pancake options. Think Greek omelets with gyro meet and feta or French crepes. There are even the traditional baked pancakes for those willing to wait a good 30 minutes. Staff was friendly. Lots of groups on a recent Sunday but our waitress kept her cool. My coffee cup never went empty and there were a selection of flavored cremes to sweeten things up. I enjoyed a veggie skillet with 3 eggs and was impressed with the portion size and my sweet pineapple on the side. I sampled some of the creamy rice soup of the day and a few bites of a tasty chicken sandwich with avocado. I'd definitely come back again when I'm in the neighborhood. One last recommendation? The bathroom. Very clean and everything was automated which I love.

Our breakfast club has been to many places in the Mokena/New Lenox area and this one does not rank among the top. The food sounds good but the taste doesn't live up to expectations. After waiting for what seemed like forever for breakfast, I ordered scrambled eggs and they came poached. The waitress was nice enough to take it back to the kitchen and was able to turn around some fresh scrambled eggs in just a few minutes but still. There are plenty more places to try in the area and I don't think I'll be back soon.

I like the food it's very good, but one time I made a pick up order of Strawberry pancakes. When opened up the container, there was two strawberrys. Not cool, when you pay for something and they don't get your order right. I still go because I like the food, but if you get take out, check your bags.

Do you like to wait? Be Ignored? Like to feel you're imposing on the waitstaff? Then this is the place for you! I've tried this place on a couple of occasions, and have been disappointed. I have a steadfast rule when dining out...if I am not greeted by the server and offered something to drink within five minutes of being seated, I leave. Both times I visited this place I was virtually ignored. The breakfast was pricey and the potatoes were old, blackened and stuck together. The wait staff was indifferent and inattentive. I told the owner about my negative experience and he seemed to not care. Try Mattina's on route 30 if you want a quality breakfast without the slow service.

YUMMM!! I love a good breakfast place! And surprisingly out here in the middle of nowhere I found a great place!! I had the Traditional Benedict, it was done fabulous. Very cute little place! It was a toss up between this or the Pumpkin pancakes. I also spotted Baklava pancakes- whoa?! A double yum! ;-)

I can't believe this place only has a three star average, when you first pull in. it looks like a very small place, but when you go inside it's huge, they could put twice as many tables in there if they wanted, it's very roomy. I got seated within a minute, it is a full service restaurant, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even though with the looks and name it sounds and looks like a breakfast only place. it was later in the day but I wanted breakfast, so I ordered two eggs, ham, hash browns, toast and coffee. The waitress asked if I wanted any thing else and I asked for water, she brought me a picture of ice water with a slice of lemon in it, very refreshing, the eggs are all double yolk, so you get four smaller eggs, the ham was fresh, not processed, the hash browns were crispy, just the way I like them, and the wheat toast was that thick stuff, which I like. My waitress kept coming by asking if everything was OK, kept my coffee cup full, just really friendly. The price was fair, A little high for our area, $10.17 for what I had, but the food was very good, service was fantastic, and the place is very clean, I think I will try dinner next.

I got various skillets the few times I came here. The food is good. Nothing mind-blowing, or super different from any other breakfast, family restaurant...but it's a good place to have breakfast if you're in the Mokena area...

Went there for lunch yesterday. Wife ordered the Grilled Chicken Philly and I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger. I ordered the burger medium and came overcooked the first time. Waited another 15 minutes for the second burger and wish I had tried something else. Wife's chicken was very dry smothered in imitation American cheese. Both dishes were incredibly bland with absolutely no seasoning. The real problem came when I took my ticket up to pay and when the woman behind the desk asked how everything was I was honest. Told her,"Both dishes were extremely bland and honestly we were both disappointed." Instead of an apology she got defensive saying that they sell a lot of both dishes and that they "Weren't allowed to season the food unless it's cajun or blackened." WHAT?! Really? I'm sorry but what restaurant says that they aren't allowed to season food??? She then went on to say that they sell a lot of both dishes and she didn't understand why I had a problem. I've never been treated so rudely when giving honest feedback about food in a restaurant. You asked how everything was, don't give the customer an attitude when you get an answer you don't like. I would give this place 2 stars since the service was friendly but a rude manager that acted like I was the one with the problem ruined even that. I will never go back to this place ever again.

This is my second time at Double-Yolk. Both times I came for breakfast... the first time I had the Kalamata Omelet with olives, feta and spinach - the omelet is GIGANTIC. I had a side of fruit and toast. It was a delicious breakfast with great service and good prices. The second time I came I ordered the special which was a Sauganaki omelet which is another gigantic omelet stuffed with Greek cheese and they flame it tableside. It came with toast and an order of hash browns. I liked the omelet but it was pretty bland, just cheese and eggs. I prefer veggies and meat in my omelets but I wanted to try something new. My bro had the veggie omelet which he enjoyed and my mom had the pesto chicken sandwich which again was HUGE. It also came with soup and a side of fruit. The place is inexpensive, has pretty decent food and good service. I really enjoy Double-Yolk!

Customer service wins the race. I ordered a skillet and the waitress brought me an omelet. Yuk! Sorry, I just can not eat scambled eggs. She apologized and lickity split had my order up and gave me a to go container for the wrong one. The food comes in a close second to the awsome waitress. I could see she was having a bad day. So I gave her an awsome tip to let her know that I understand when shit happens!

Decided on a whim to drop in on a Sautrday night for "greek" night. Greek chicken was dry. Combo platter had several different authentic greek dishes, but everything had bechemel sauce on top--which isfine if it is a good sauce, but this was so solid it just kind of sat in a very thick layer and was not tasty nor appealing. Best thing on the combo plate was the gyro meat w tzatki. Only saving grace was the delcious greek salad (minus the anchovies that were on top when served). Our server was also attentive and friendly. Probably best to keep this place for breakfasat.

We have had mixed results here. When it first opened it was amazing. When it is busy the food is OK. When it is not busy the food and service are bad. We ended up going back to Lumes for breakfast and will try out some new places.

this place is very hit or miss.

(1)Ed K.
Wow... Great breakfast spot... Come hungry..leave full and satisfied!!! My favorite place for breakfast.
(5)Kathleen M.
(4)Chris C.

(1)Kimberly F.
(4)Taso T.
Great food, great family owned restaurant. They care! I get here to eat EVERY chance I get!
(5)Melissa B.
I was a huge fan of this place when they first opened. They have just consistently gone down hill since then though. The service is friendly but the food always has an off taste to me. Everything seems likes its almost stale for some reason. The prices are low but they nickel and dime you for everything. There are much better options in the immediate area.
(2)Ashley J.
(2)Maria A.
Love this place!! Amazing options. Try the banana foster blintzes and the seafood Benedict. Excellent choices! You won't regret it. Great service too. The staff is very helpful.
(5)Greg M.
Too loud, too slow and my wife's meal wasn't prepared as was specified on the menu. We waited 20 minutes for water. When our name was called after a 25 minute initial wait the individual In charge of calling out names was barely audible. Wake up Mokena! You've got better alternatives.
(1)Haley S.
(2)Jeff P.
Just left this restaurant, sat there for 15 minutes!! No one came by, no water, nothing. Me and my wife just got up and left. Will never go back.
(1)Ed B.
(2)Lucy B.
(1)Jeff B.
Went to Double Yolk on a Saturday for a late breakfast food was great waitresses (Jen) was great. I love iced tea and drink a lot of tea my glass never went empty. Food was great had the gypsy skillet. Will be back soon.

(4)Jordan M.
(4)Michael D.
Food is good. Expensive for breakfast and lunch. I guess. When I have 3 people at the hostess booth it needs to be. Owners are rude. I won't be back. Wait staff is nice. 2 people and a child. 32 bucks. They must be crazy.
(2)Jerry A.
Service is always friendly and very efficient.
(5)Ron S.
Just horrible food had no seasoning like eating cardboard. Stay far away from this place. Yuk yuk.
(1)Annie D.
I have eaten here a couple of times and we always have an issue with the friendliness of the staff. Mostly the management. The food is decent. I am not a fan of their more healthy pancakes.
(2)Crystal S.
I'm probably gonna stay away for a while,
(1)Jeff W.
(5)Paul S.
(3)Anita W.
(2)Levent T.
(3)Christina P.
(2)Jessica S.
This place has great food. We come here very often. I have severe food allergies and we were able to find ways for me to also enjoy the great food here. The owners are super nice!
(5)William B.
Great breakfast place, consistently great food and service. Very close proximity to my home doesn't hurt either! check them out, if you haven't.
(5)Denise D.
(4)Clifford S.
(3)Marc B.
(1)Kim H.

(1)Kristina G.
Called today to get a carry out order. The owner flat out refused to make my order gluten free. Do not eat here poor customer service and the owner is RUDE !!!
(1)Karen M.
This place is a substitute for Sunday breakfast when the Country Charm restaurant up the street is too full. It's much bigger than Country Charm, has contemporary décor, and features a good breakfast menu with a variety of Benedicts, skillets, crepes, blintzes, omelettes, pancakes, and waffles. They're also open for lunch and dinner, although we've never tried them for that yet. The food is fine and the staff is friendly, but the only thing that keeps us from coming here more often is the slow service. Even if we manage to get a table right away, we still always seem to have quite a wait for our food and our check. I know Sunday mornings are always busy, but fast service for Sunday breakfast IS possible (see the aforementioned Country Charm). Also, as the name suggests, all of the eggs here are double-yolked, which may not be the best thing if you're watching your cholesterol level. (I'm going to have to go back just to ask them how they get their eggs; I thought double yolks were a freak of nature that only happens rarely.) Still, a good choice for breakfast if you're not in a hurry.
(3)Dawn S.
I have never had a bad dining experience at Double Yolk! The food is delicious, and portions are extremely generous, the staff is always inviting and friendly, and there is a great variety on the menu! Highly recommended!
(4)Kelly M.

(2)Mike S.
Good food at reasonable prices.service is very good. Great omelettes. We go there once a month. Only suggestion to them would be to put fruit on a cold plate instead of sharing plate with omelette. Huge portions. Worth trying.
(4)John D.
We were actually excited to try this place. We waited 45 minutes and ended up walking out for the long wait and unattentive wait staff. I will tell my friends and relative about my bad experience. I will not go back.
(1)Laura F.
(2)Melissa H.

Recently moved to New Lenox, this is our new breakfast spot. The staff is awesome, menu is awesome with seasonal choices, and the price is right. What more do you need in a breakfast spot?
