Went on a slow, Saturday evening for a takeout of some steak enchiladas and Chiles Rellenos. Guy on the phone was rushing and mumbling over the phone but whatever. Now wait for this, when I drove up there to get my order it turns out there was only one guy working there. How many cooks? Who knows but only ONE waiter to wait both the tables and phone orders? Absurd! No wonder he was in a rush over the phone. It was roughly 4 tables the poor young man had to wait on including x amount of phone orders. I felt sorry for the guy. Cute af too........ Anyways the food was alright. The Rellenos was pretty decent. The enchiladas was..?? I don't know. It was basically a flour shell with melted cheese and dry steak inside I don't know man. El Cortez got me spoiled. Wouldn't return unless I'm drunk or something.

This place is great. We go there every week and the food is always fresh and delicious. They have some of the best fajitas around. The owner, Ricky, always comes by the table to check in and see how we're doing. Also, Martine is the best waiter and always takes great care of us!

Horrible service. I stood there and watched the MANAGER talk to his friends for a few minutes before I had to interrupt him and state that I was picking up a call-in order. I literally had to remind the cashier what I ordered and much to my disgust the order was completely wrong. No need for any more details. I had a horrible experience and will never return to this location. BEWARE!

We are frequent customers of this restaurant and we are HIGHLY disappointed when this place we always eat/drink at will not only replace a taco they thrown away in 3 minutes but refused to give us a new one AND called the police because they did not want to "argue". Good establishments who know the definition of customer service will have no problem giving you a replacement item when they made the error of throwing it away. We were treated like next to nothing and now we refuse to eat at this place altogether. This is not the first time we were treated rudely but would overlook it because it was never that serious to us. Of course the owners/managers will not care about this review because they never care about how they treat their customers to their face, but hopefully they learn their lesson on treating their customers like trash because this situation could have been totally different if me and my friend did not walk away and tried to actually stand up for ourselves.

Horrible! It took ten minutes before anyone came to check on the front waiting area. There were several of us waiting to be seated. When the employees finally came out they had food in their mouths and were short and rude. They also closed the gate that separated the dining room from the waiting area after we waited for minutes. We actually ended up leaving. We will not be retuning. It wasn't a good experience.

Over the last several years I've watched this place's food and service go down the tubes. When we first moved to the area it was good food, not too risky and the entire family could eat here. Just went there this past weekend and it was horrible. The service wasn't rude but they really didn't care that we were there. They seated us, brought us water, took our order, brought out the food and then we didn't hear from them until I asked for the check. On top of that the food was bad. My tamales had obviously been microwaved as the cheese on top came off in one piece like soft plastic, let alone the fact that they were old. For the price you can choose from half a dozen cheaper places with better food. Save yourself the trouble unless you're gonna get hammered on the margaritas. Then I guess the taste of the food won't matter as much. For me we'll never go back.

Rude customer service. Host was dense, had a groupon coupon that the ignorant manager tried not to accept it with no explaination. When he saw that I was not accepting his bull he took the coupon then tried to charge me double for a drink. Needless to say, I will not be dining here again

This Pepe's is a Margarita oasis. For the last six months, I've been trying to find a good Margarita that wasn't watered down or weak. They are STRONG! I got the medium and it was good enough for the rest of the meal. Try the 1/2 Margarita special. Ricky, the manager, was very pleasant and helpful. The food was good. I expected a Taco Bell style but it was pure authentic Mexican.

I'll start by saying I used to come to this location for carry-out orders of beef tacos. They were always consistently good. Then my friends and I discovered their margaritas. Like the guy above stated, margaritas are half off on Tuesdays & Thursdays. I normally get a medium, which is a nice size for lil ol' me for only $4.50. The Blue Hawaiian, Strawberry and Mango (frozen, of course) are the best flavors. My husband swears by a medium Cadillac ' rita. The margaritas are always well blended and they pack somewhat of a subtle punch. And might I add that the punch is not so subtle once you manage to finish one margarita! I always want a second one but that would mean I'd have to almost crawl back to my car, but they sure are tasty! The food is just ok, the salsa and chips are ok. I only go on Tuesdays and after 9pm the place is packed with folks in their 20's and 30's, and there is always a wait for a table around that time. However, stop by around 7 that same night to snag a table; usually there are some families and older couples occupying the restaurant early in the night. Service is as expected on a busy night in the food industry, but the servers are usually prompt. My recommendation is to go here for the margaritas only!

The owner is very rude and the customer service is horrible. I had a living social voucher and the owner would not accept the voucher off my phone. He said the voucher had to be printed but my voucher clearly said that I could present the voucher on my phone to the business. He did not try to work with me and the service was horrible. The waiter messed up my order and my husband got sick from the food. I will NEVER go to this Pepe's again.

It is a sad thing to see a neighborhood favorite go down the drain because of lack of customer service and quality of food. I have lived in the neighborhood all of my life, and have been going to Pepe's since I was a kid. My family has supported this business through ownership changes, and all the ups and downs. Over the past two years, it has started to go downhill as it did in the 90's. The owners are cocky and rude, which influences the attitudes of the rest of the staff. Today I called in a simple carry-out for Chicken Ques' and it took over 30 minutes to get my order; I called in the order at 9:14 and did not leave the restaurant till 9:45pm!! I waited inside after paying for 20+ minutes, and had to inquire to finally get my order. I guess the staff was too busy serving up the half off margaritas to care about the front end business. Once I got home, I checked my order and it was wrong, there was NO CHICKEN on the chicken ques. Also, I had requested red sauce on my rice, and it was dry as dirt with no sauce, and the beans were cold as if they were being served from one big pot made mid-afternoon that had not been reheated. I called to tell the manager/owner that my order was wrong, and he asked me was I sure there was no chicken. How could I not be sure??? This was a ridiculous question, so I told him I would bring the order back to show him. As I was hanging up, he offered to re-make the order, but I had taken all I could by way of poor service for one night, after a long day. When I arrived at the restaurant I expressed my discontent, and that I was most disappointed that no one had apologized for the wait, and now for me getting all the way home with the wrong order and having to come back. The owner, Ricky, got very rude and asserted he apologized on the phone, but he did not. The only thing he said was, "are you sure there is no chicken?" and "Do you want me to make it over", no apology. Even when I got to the restaurant, no apology until after I insisted I should receive one due to all the issues for the night!!! Horrible experience!!! This used to be a nice family restaurant and one of my favorite places to eat, but now it is a teen hang out spot. The place was packed with teens and young adults throwing back pitchers of drinks. Seriously not a family friendly environment at the time I was there, after 9pm. While I was waiting on my order, another customer said she was disappointed with the service now provided, and has started going out of her way to the Tinley Park Pepe's. Mature adults steer clear, they have gotten used to serving teens, and your dollars are no longer appreciated here. Go to a different Pepe's or to La Mex in Orland Park!

This Pepes is a good place to go for margaritas. They're 1/2 off on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The margaritas are done right here, nice and strong. This Pepes is family run and the wait staff are friendly and the place is well run. The food is typical Pepes grub....fajitas, tacos,Mex/American stuff. For real Mexican food you need to go to Mexico anyway. It can get crowded here on the 1/2 price margarita nights and on the weekends so plan accordingly. This is one of my favorite places for margaritas...go try one! ( or two )

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
