One hour to get food in an almost empty restaurant. Terrible service and filthy bathrooms. Bob Evans is usually awesome. What is up with management here?

Both times I have been here have been terribly slow. There was nearly an hour between the time we ordered and time we got the food. Pancakes and eggs do NOT take that long to make. The manager asked us if we had any concerns at the end of the meal, not how the service was. That is a very telling question... The food we eventually received was wrong. Nearly all the orders were wrong in some way. We came for breakfast but should have asked for a dinner menu.

This chain of restaurants is catered towards the geriatric population. When we ate here, we were probably the youngest people in the place. The restaurant reminds me of a Marie Callender's but it's a lot more dated. The rolls they are famous for totally sucked. Dry, not too appealing. I order their famous Chicken soup, which was really bland and not cooked very well. The pot pie was a little bit better. My favorite part of the meal was the Chocolate silk pie. Best I've tried so far in these parts. The service was fine, I just thought the tables could have been cleaned a little better.

What a mess. When I arrived, I was seated promptly and the waitress was prompt. The booth was clean, and the sugar was stocked. The positives stop there. Food was greasy, salty, and bland all at the same time. Coffee was so burned it almost tasted like a cigarette. I wasn't asked if the food was good- the waitress simply plopped the check on the table and walked off. To make matters worse, the waitstaff were audibly berating the kitchen staff for being behind, and making something incorrectly. It was loud enough that other people in the restaurant quieted down to better hear the spectacle. Unprofessional and lacking in taste, for both the food and the staff.

Typical comfort food. When they redid the menu, they got rid of the open faced roast beef (pot roast) sandwich. Too bad, as it was my favorite item there. I was going every Thursday morning with my grandma for breakfast, but too many times we had terrible service and often they were out of cinnamon chips for her cinnamon pancakes. We finally gave up and have been going to Steak n Shake instead. The banana nut bread or pumpkin bread is always good here. Who knows, maybe we will give it another shot one day soon.

Classic diner. Wisecracking waitresses, classic comfort food, breakfast all day. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. My grits (girl raised in the south) wife had never been to a Bob Evans so when one was right in front of us we stopped for dinner. We were the only patrons that still had jobs, the others all seem to have retired during the last century. We enjoyed our dinner, the portions were too large to finish. The waitress was extra helpful. All in all a pleasant stop at a chain restaurant that doesn't pretend to be anything more. They seem to accommodate medical implements well.

Visited on 10/26/2014. Server: Audrey M. Best place for comfort food in Marion, IL. We waited about 20 minutes for table, but well worth the wait. Clean and well managed. It shows. My rating is based on fact that it is a very good "Diner" and not a high-end restaurant.

Reminds me of a Marie Callendar's and a Cracker Barrel mixed together. Definitely appeared to be popular among the 60+ crowd. Service was good, food was good.

AVOID - Yeuch! Made the big mistake of having a breakfast meeting at Bob Evans in Marion - Absolutely nothing to recommend. Eggs were greasy, biscuit stale, home fires made me sick to my stomach. And it was expensive. $2.19 for a cup of coffee! $8.99 for eggs. I'm sick now and have the taste of lard in my mouth. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Can't go wrong with the Rise and Shine breakfast or any of the Knife and Fork sandwiches. Friendly staff but sometimes when I sit at the bar area, it may take 10 minutes before anyone even says hello and if been coming there for years.....Ohh, the spicy/bbq'ed chicken salad is very good too.

I've eaten here 5 or 6 times, only for breakfast. Their food is very good, always cooked exactly as requested. It has always been served pretty quickly, even when they were very busy. I've never had the same server twice and they've all been great. I'm a coffee drinker and they have never failed to keep my cup full. They are quick to pick up your empty plates. When they drop of the check, they always tell me to enjoy my coffee and or newspaper and to take my time. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy.

I haven't come here since 2010 or 2011 because it was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I came yesterday and it was great. I had the country fried steak and macaroni & cheese is amazing. The mashed potatoes are very good too. I came this morning for breakfast and it was ok. Had "sausage gravy and biscuits" with hash browns. The hash browns were cold and the gravy wasn't the best. They also have good service. Would highly reccommend.

This place used to rival Steak and Shake for my favorite late night eats. The biscuits and gravy are solid but the real standout are the blueberry crepes. Anytime I'm back home I try to stop in.
